I like the challenge perks like No Mither and Object of Obsession. Not only does it shake up the tension but it feels like a different game almost. It's good we have stuff like that to change how the game works, and I hope we get some more such perks in the future.

Honestly! It makes you be more careful and you genuinely can feel slight fear or arendline when you get chased because of how much of a target you are. That’s how DBD should feel overall. That’s just opinion on it though.

Okay I swear this will be my last post for today. Can I say how much fun I actually have with no mither?

I don’t particularly use it every match but it makes the game so much more challenging. Especially when you add these other perks: iron will, unbreakable, and tenacity.

I use this honestly to get better at juking, and as a distraction for my team. I’ve had my teammates do at least 2-3 generators while I’ve distracted some killers (not all but some) and honestly it’s really great.

You get to improve your knowledge on where to go, and what to do while injured it’s a one chance. You’re basically immune to NOED and any expose affect LMAO.

I’m also the kind of person who will sacrifice myself to save others whether it be my friends or not and it’s just really fun idk!! What do you guys think?

I like it too cuz killer thinks ur super pro toxxxic THICC and ignores u a lot

I legit only do it challenge myself and for fun. OOOOOOF!
  • The event should be ending soon but the whole DC thing is probably gonna happen for a long time until devs genuinely do something about it.
  • I run ruin in lower ranks but in higher ranks depending on the team I’m playing against (if they’re good/bad survivors) it’s a maybe.

In higher ranks ruin can be found pretty easily by players who know what they’re doing (or know locations).

All ruin can really do is slow down the rate on generators for a short while. It can also be ignored because I’ve had games where I played survivor and everyone did all 5 generators ignoring ruin.

So is it a waste? Not particularly but it varies and depends on the players you are opposing.
  • Sometimes but rarely. I suck at killer tbh.

Can anyone explain to me why I was actually in a match with new/low ranked players? I’m like a rank 10 right now and everyone else was rank 20 but me.

The killer didn’t even have any addons or perks. This seems odd to me.

Matchmaking is searching for players in a wider search, or something like that.

    In other words.
    Matchmaking is wack

I see! That's why I've been playing with people who are either highly ranked or in lower ranks. Thank you I actually had no idea that devs implemented that. I remember when they updated mid-event they had mentioned saying that they were aware of the match-making issues and were making constant changes here and there to see what they can do.

Perhaps this is just an experiment on how things will go? That's just my guess at least! (I could be wrong.)

  • I play the one that runs away with randoms that either bully the killer or dies immediately because they don’t know what they’re doing.

I'd love to see it do more, personally. I don't know how well an automated system could work because people would find a way to abuse it and farm props, but they're already tracked and we can check them just like reports. I think it would be neat to have some sort of rewards for people who do nice things, like teaching a new player how the game works. Maybe a bunch of shards or something. I'm a firm believer that positive reinforcement is just as important as getting rid of the bad apples.

What is the give props button for in the first place? Does it do anything?

Currently it does not do anything. They are still tracked, though, in case they get used in the future.
So there’s a possibility it could actually do something?

At the moment it just seems pointless if the player you’ve given props to (aftermatch). Like if it doesn’t even notify the person it shouldn’t exist overall? I mean it should at least notify the person that you’ve given props to. It’s not much but yeah I think it’ll be kinda cute/nice :’^

I think it would be really nice honestly.

@Peanits mentioned that they would do a leader board thing where they praise the person who got the most props in the game. Consequently, due to expanding game, they don't have enough time to do this and needed to work on other things. :(

That’s understandable but it seems like such a small thing. :^((

I guess there are other important issues.

As a person who plays both sides, I wish it would have a time limit for how long it would stay open...I dunno, maybe add a secondary objective to boost the time a little...but it being a free escape can be irksome, even if I escape quite a few times with it.

Had a match today where a Survivor sandbagged the rest of us, farmed Unhooked me twice and then got out because of Hatch and only because of the Hatch mechanic...

I had worked on two Gens, finished one myself, scouted the map & cleared multiple totems (was vs Hag) found a Hex Totem but accidentally fast vaulted (ty game) amd jus so happened the Killer was already there and instantly this pos unhooked me with Killer there, killer downs me hooks me again and poof...unhooked by the same person and somehow the Killer never went after em... The same Survivor went to sandbag my GF who was with us, the other player DC'd and ofc the pos finds Hatch like 5 minutes later...no..they did not deserve to be rewarded for bad behavior.

I've had my own teammates (randoms) turn against me when it came to the hatch. When there was just two of us left, the guy kept following me around making loud noises to notify killer (jumping over pallets, body blocking me to attempt for me to DC, and even attempted to sandbag me when being chased on purpose). It's ridiculous how there are some players like this; and I actually can't stand for it.

Thing is: this hasn't happened just once or twice but at least three times overall. Trying to get hatch makes it extremely more intense for both sides and could take time. I hate hatch standoffs 100%.

  • @thesuicidefox said:
They should do something like Overwatch does, the game tracks your "good props" and whenever you get say 10 you get a 100k BP reward. This would encourage players to play nice with each other so they can get props. Then just limit it so that you can only give props to someone you play against, and you can only do it once every week or something so people can't abuse it (and so SWF can't just give themselves props). Maybe even allow survivors to give each other props IF they are not in an SWF group together.

That's a good way to keep it balanced. I doubt that they'll give 100k BPs since that does seem a lot (to devs a least). It can encourage survivors to take the game more seriously and be nicer towards each other (or killers) but it's a possibility.

  • Even if it may not seem so good towards you other people might think otherwise. It's good that they actually gave feedback at least instead of ignoring it. Which also means that they're aware of the match-making system issue (how searching for lobbies makes it longer).

  • I think it would be cool to make it so that you have a higher chance of playing with a person you gave props to again. I could see how it could be abused but it would be cool running into fun killers again.

I doubt devs would want to do that. There’s a reason why devs wouldn’t want to have a possible bond/friend with someone who’s killer and the other is survivor.

I totally get what you mean though!!
  • Aww this is actually pretty nice despite how toxic this community can be sometimes. OOF!
  • Camping is technically considered part of gameplay and you can’t report someone over it. It can definitely be countered in many ways if people decide to work together or have borrowed time.

Camping harms the killer more though because everyone else has more of a chance to do generators safely for a short period until the person. Which is why I always struggle all the way if I am being camped; gives my team more time for gens.

Unless it’s situational like the gates are open or something. After that it’s understandable.
  • I’m only devotion lvl 1 lol but I’m currently at 1.78 (About to be 2) soon.

I think killers should appeal to playstyles, not tiers. You should have fun playing the game; and it’ll motivate you to play more.
I know I haven’t been replying to a lot of other posts but I was just more interested into reading. I agree! At this point I don’t play as seriously as I used to but for fun. Less stress tbh. 2k is enough for me! 👹
  • SWF groups has a higher chance of winning against killers. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that all SWF are good. I play with my bf on PS4 and we’re like average. We still have our moments of losing or dying mid-match.

Just dodge if you see a 4-man?
  • I’ve only had problems with finding lobbies as a survivor whether it be with SWF or playing as solo. This event didn’t entirely affect my gameplay since people still did gens thankfully. Killers could still play normally as well just not get as many points as survivors do.

All I wanted from this event was Feng’s skin that’s it. (Got it!) 👹
  • I actually barely play the Pig but I was wondering if she had any good add-ons. I remember seeing other users mention how she doesn't have any good add-ons. They all seem so...garbage tbh.

Were you on Mount Ormond? That map has a habit of making scratch marks magically vanish.

While I was playing on PC for once this bug had actually happened. It's not just on PS4. Same map and everything.

  • On PS4, there is pretty much no wait time for killers, you find a game instantly. But with survivors, the wait time is ridiculous. Waiting 30 minutes or more to find a game as survivor is just unacceptable.

It’s strange because previously it wasn’t so bad but now it’s just really long to find lobbies overall. I’ve waited 10+ multiple times to have killers even bail on me it really sucks. This has been happening before the event was even in but now with the event here it seems to be much more longer.
  • I liked Hallowed Blight but yeah this one is awful as survivor and doesn't feel much fun as killer. It's just one bad game after another. The last game was kind of fun and then boom fatal errorr game crashed. So now I'm back to sitting through 10 mins of lobby dodges and red pings. Why does the game keep crashing? Why isn't it fixed?

Ever since the update in December I haven't really enjoyed the game as there have been too many technical issues or bad changes (such as hooks).
I completely respect your opinion but that event had to be the worst (during gameplay) because of the amount of people sacrificing themselves on the hooks, disconnecting was a lot higher too, and gens were barely being done during that event.

Devs didn’t do that much of a bad job during this one despite the fact that survivors get more points but that’s truly it. I think the reason why survivors get more points has to be because there’s only 2 skins overall for survivors while there’s only 1 skin for killer. That’s my guess at least.

This event can be ignored regardless! Gens will still be done and killers will still hook. Halloween Blight event was almost unplayable and I’m glad that it was over.

However I did enjoy the small lore they gave during each day as it passed and how hooks looked, etc. It’s just how it was played that bothered me.
  • If i see a P3 Claudette I'll try get her asap because if i loose her i know it's gonna be hard to find her again

Claudette gets the most hatred in the game.

Oh my...I remember while I played killer I would always lose them while they had their P3 skin and one of them had no mither once it was embarrassing for me (I got 3 kills in that game though!!)
  • This game has been out for almost 3 years and honestly I’d love to see different game modes! But there probably has to be lots of coding to be done and I can’t even imagine how laggy it would be right now.

Hopefully devs will make one new game mode soon enough.
  • Hex ruin isn’t even that bad though. It’s found pretty quickly but if it’s not I’ve had teams where people have pushed through it. It’s not that bad.

At least it’s not hex: haunted grounds.
  • I use it to tell the others that I'm being camped. It rarely works though. There's always that one guy.

Me. Sometimes I just do it for fun while watching everyone else play lmao. It makes you feel like you’re grounded while watching the younger kids play. :^(((

@Gamzello there is no wait time at all for killer. Once I create a lobby, It is full within 10 to 15 seconds. If you are not seeing that on PS4, then you have some other issue.

It depends on ranks and time. I normally play throughout the night so sometimes it’s a bit harder for me to find others playing around the night (for me).

PS4 needs it like NOW. Lobby queue times are ridiculous even as a SOLO survivor.

This is one of the worse matchmaking system they’ve ever implemented

Just don't play survivor. Easy fix.

It happens with killers too though. Even with SWF or solo; PS4 needs a fix for sure in ques.

Tunneling is a legit strategy. Facecamp though, flashlight flicking, tbagging, flashlight blind farming me at every pallet

I used to tbag until I realized how unfun it must’ve been so I stopped eventually and played the game more seriously. However everything else seems like a bit much.

I’ve had teammates do that to the killer and I eventually experienced it myself.

The funniest part about it is; when you kill them and they message you because of how salty they are. LOL.
  • Feng 10/10 I’m glad my girlfriend got something really good! The grind will totally be worth it. I already got 2/3 of her outfit!!

My Ace is level 5 and I’ve had this game for five months LOL. Never really touch him and I don’t really like the cosmetic for him. I guess it’s okay?

Huntress. My second girlfriend. Hmmm. Only like the mask tbh that’s it the rest of the outfit is kinda whatever to me. Of course that’s just my opinion.
  • It’s the internet; people will always feel like they’re right on the internet. You will encounter rude people and toxic people everywhere.

There are multiple games that have a toxic community; CSGO, COD, Overwatch, R6S, etc. However those games are still pretty relevant at the moment. (The games I’ve listed are at least longer than 2-3+ years old.)

I have to agree with the ques though. I also play on PS4 and sometimes it’ll be pretty quick (throughout the day) but during the night it takes really long. I’ve waited for like 5-10+ minutes while playing solo and it takes quite sometime. Even with a duo SWF and that’s saying something.

Rank seems pretty useless at the moment and I wish the devs did award both killers and survivors with some BPs like it doesn’t even have to be a lot. All of your points on rank is something I’d have to agree with.

We’ll probably have to see how the new match-making will do soon. Hopefully it’ll fix all of the ques issues.
  • In my opinion there’s not much of a difference. They’re both end game perks and adrenaline alone sounds good enough.
  • Am I the only one getting 1 envelope per bloodweb? Please make it appear as often the offerings for the other events did!!!!
I think it’s because there aren’t as many cosmetics. Plus you can buy one cosmetic with one coin.

With each coin that you get I think it increases how many more points you need as well. Got my first coin that was only 100. Now it’s 200. At the moment I’m not sure if it increases but yeah.
  • Everyone: legion is the worst killer. Wooooow.

    Also everyone:
Right. I seriously don’t understand why people hate playing against him.
  • I'm a bit weary of this idea. On the one hand, if survivors are hiding in bushes or under crawl spaces or whatever, that means they aren't working on generators. So it might slow the game down a little. On the other hand it means less potential bloodpoints earned by both survivors and killers in a given time period. Killers don't earn bloodpoints if they can't find survivors to interact with and survivors don't earn bloodpoints by just hiding in lockers or bushes or whatever.

I can't say that I'm really keen on lowering the amount of bloodpoints earned per minute. That is my chief objection. I'm not opposed to stealth options in general. But for the greater good, it is probably for the best if this doesn't happen.

I respect your opinion completely and can understand your concern all of these options I’ve mentioned don’t have to be all in one game. It’s just different ways to hide just like lockers. Plus all of these are all spread out.
  • I want more hiding spots toooooo! More kinds of spots to hide with varying degrees of risk sound awesome. It would add more to the stealth tactic. They'd probably have to reduce the amount of lockers though so there aren't 12 immediate hiding spots for the killers to sift through to find someone.

Tree Trunks: Faster to get into, and to get out of. Keeps you exposed since the opening isn't closable. Able to use over and over again, and noise isn dampened.

Open Chests: Killers can now open chests that have been used. A survivor approaches the chest and crawls in and closes the lid over themselves. No item can be in the chest, and you must pick up the item if there is one before you can enter.

I dig all three of your ideas

I’m glad someone suggested a few more ideas!! I tried to keep them as balanced as possible because I personally feel like stealth should have more things around the map instead of just using urban or hiding into lockers.
  • IamFran said:

When playing survivors there are some things that give you too few BP.
The most clear example is Bold, small BP gaining and small cap considering the risk.
Skill checks, 100 BP for a good and 300 for a great would be nice.
Cleasing totem, 1000 for a dull and 1500 for a hex.

I notice that even when you don’t get seen by the killer you get 5-10+ (little more) unless you hide in a locker. Hiding in a locker while killer is around gives you 50+ bold. They should probably give an additional 100+ for “hidden well” or something in bold when you don’t get seen by killer while outside.

I think skillchecks are great the way they are now. I think great skill checks should give a little more too like you had mentioned.

However, with the dull totems I’d probably keep it at 600. If I do end up cleaning all 5 totems in a match (without hex) that would be 3,000 which I think isn’t so bad. With hexes I’d probably make it up to like 1,500 as well. An extra 500 wouldn’t hurt.
  • Well, killers are up against 4 people, if you take the Survivors BP at the end of the match it's usually 50/50 compared tot he killers but you guys have to split it 4 ways... Sometimes there is one survivor that gets way more because he did a good job but overall it's pretty equal.

I’ve seen killers who have hit all survivors without hooking and still end up getting a pretty high amount of BPs 17k-19k or slightly more depending on how much they’ve done. That doesn’t seem very fair when they literally couldn’t even sacrifice anyone?

I think there was only once where I’ve gotten 30k BPs and I’m pretty sure it’s cause I did really well in that match plus I have Prove Thyself which made it insane but yeah.
  • @Gamzello said:
Rank doesn’t even matter at this point. You could barely know any knowledge of the game, get carried by SWF and end up in the green or purple ranked at least.

Rank is supposed to separate “skill caps” even though it I’ve seen high rank play with low rank or the other way around. Smurfs also exist.

Not to mention the fact on how extremely easy it can be to rank up; especially while playing killer.

You don’t even get a reward for ranking up. Some games actually do give you rewards for ranking up (Overwatch’s competitive mode) since this game’s ONLY match is ranked.

I think this game is too causal for rank to be taken seriously overall. Even if it’s “competitive”.

Mate if you even read my suggestion at all you'd see that i wanted to take out rank in the way of numbers, leaving people to be split by skill cap and not be able to vocally say "oh im rank etc im better then you" along with enhancing the actual competitive nature of the game, by forcing high rank people to continuously have to play in order to maintain their rank, along with a greater grind to get to and stay at that point

I don’t even know if devs pay attention to rank anymore or if they care enough to even do something about it lmao. I don’t know why people boast about that when literally many people can get into high ranks easily. You know?
  • Rank doesn’t even matter at this point. You could barely know any knowledge of the game, get carried by SWF and end up in the green or purple ranked at least.

  • Spirit is amazing, I love her character design and the way she plays. She’s considered high tier while Legion is considered mid-low tier for others.

Dead by daylight killer mechanic was constructed to focus on one survivor during a chase which makes the whole Legion thing a bit different. I’m guessing they wanted to experience and explore their game mechanics a lot more which is a good thing! Learning from your mistakes is a good thing and so is experiencing things.

However. I personally think that all killers are viable if you know how to play them properly. Some killers need a little more help with good add ons however (Legion) for example while others need a buff/rework in some areas (Freddy).

I personally can’t wait to see who’s going to be the next killer!!
  • Tsulan said:
Killers and survivors get roughly the same amount of bloodpoints per hour.
Killer gets more per match, because he does more.
Try interacting more with the killer. Stealth gives little points. Chases and stuns give tons of points.

    Or play killer...
Killer stresses me out too much tbh I can’t play killer that long before I become upset and that can really take affect on my mental health atm.

I do play it time to time though.
  • Except survivors don't loose items or addons if they escape and don't use it, completely regenerate charges, can bring items from trial. And if bp would be the same half the people would quit playing killer

I get that. But I’m not talking about that exactly. As a survivor I could literally do as many gens, try to get a few saves, and maybe one or two chest/totems before I escape or end up dying. When I die; I basically lose about 4-8k extra bps that I could’ve won throughout my match. That overall I’d probably get 19-20k maybe even less depending on how my match went.

Survivors eventually lose their items. I only save mine if they’re extremely good items but sometimes I even give it away to my teammates because I know that I’ll get them again eventually in my bloodweb.

But even when my characters are lvl 50, BPs with only 20k can’t even fill up the entire bloodup unless I get more than 50-60k which means I need to play a good 2-3 games and do really well in them WITHOUT dying. Making the grind even more difficult.

Items only give survivors an advantage in gameplay but not extra BPs (unless it’s a flashlight save or unlocked the hatch).

When I first started this game, it took me one week to get self care. Now that I’ve expanded my survivors a lot more; I now have to grind even more for the perks that I want. I hardly ever even use my items honestly.

The grind for this game and gaining BPs takes a good while and can scare a lot of new players away because of it. Because normally matches last around 10-15 minutes so imagine trying to grind for 3-5 matches for that long? Some people don’t have the time for it.

I personally believe that survivors should get a bit more at least it doesn’t have to be a lot or equal to killer.

I play both survivor and killer. Though I enjoy survivor more I play killer often for the easy 26,000 BP + at the end. Survivors have the luxury of bringing items in and keeping them if they survive and can find items with add-ons should they have such perks. That is BP they save within every game they play potentially. Though I do understand where you are coming from. If I escape as survivor with 18,000 BP + I say I did very well lol. Survivors have to share BP gains within a trial. Killer gets all the BP to itself which is the big factor in killers being BP machines.

That makes sense but playing solo is so difficult because you'll encounter randoms. Of course you have no idea what their intentions are; if they're messing around, wanna help the killer, or was basically carried into a higher rank and in result end up playing poorly or dying fast, getting tunneled to death, getting moried very early in the game, the list goes on honestly.

Of course it doesn't mean it happens EVERY game because all players are different including how the killer plays but oh my god man. It just sucks.

I totally understand your point of view really. Not sure what they would do to boost BP gains on the survivor side.

Probably in more perks like @Delfador had mentioned. The Prove Thyself buff (mainly addition to gaining BPs) is amazing. I’m pretty sure devs wouldn’t want to go overboard by adding several more perks with BPs gains but I honestly wouldn’t see the harm in it.

At the moment the ways to get BPs as a survivor are:
    - Stunning the killer which is a good 1k (situational), (probably could happen once or twice a match)
    - Escaping the killer (depends on how good or bad the killer is)
    - Unhooking yourself/others
    - Cleansing dull/hex totems (hex totems are a good 1k bps)
    - Healing yourself/others
    - Flashlight save (very situational)
    - Pallet save (very situational)
    - Going into basement (situational)
    - Opening in chests (depends)
    - Doing generators (obviously needed to escape either the hatch or gates)
    - Great skill checks (depends on skill tbh)

As you can see the ways I’ve mentioned on getting BPs for survivors there’s just no way I can actually do that EVERY single match. Even if the BPs are shared, this makes it difficult to  grind for solo players. I don’t like playing killer for a good reason: stress. (I have health issues and I can’t play things properly when I’m too stressed because it mentally/physically affects me)
  • Every perk is for noobs because it gives them an advantage if you use add ons, any perks, or even dare to use an offering. YOU ARE A NOOBIE NOOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is what this is telling me. Hehe.

  • Your cake is applied outside of your earned match BP total. So you should've gotten 30k total. Just wont see it on the scoreboard.... And if you want more BP, do more. Destroy totems, open boxes, loop killer, save others, do gens, heal others, and survive. You'd have gotten 20k for your match if you'd just lived. Your BP earned is spilt into 4 categories that max at 8k each. If you want more BP, you gotta do more than just focus one category. Living isn't the goal, it's earning as much BP as possible. As a survivor main, living is just like giving the finger to the killer. Sure you get 5k for it, but you're not gonna cash in on BP unless you do more throughout the match.

The thing is I always try to do a bit of everything in the majority of my matches including searching for chests and cleansing totems. However if I just do EVERYTHING at once it wastes a lot of time on generators and while I play solo 99% of the time it’s really risky. I understand where you’re coming from however.
