If you close your game while in the loading screen, you won’t lose your offerings, addons or anything so you can do that too, and you won’t get a penalty.
And that is cheating. I won't cheat; I have self-respect.

Sorry to break it to you but you're going to get caught eventually if you're getting chased. The only exception is if the killer is a rank 20 noob or if you have a coordinated SWF at the ready to bodyblock for you to the exit gates.
Not if you....get this...
Break chase. Like lose the Killer and go do something else. It's a skill few survivors can manage without perks helping and most can't do it with them.

I hear you - been tunneled and proxy camped more times just today by Nemesis than in all my matches over the past few months. I'm guessing these Nemesis killers are letting their inner coward show knowing that most Jill/Leon they come across will be babies right now without defensive perks, so easy tunnels.
Or they're playing to win because they know all those Jills and leons are experienced players just leveling them.
That's possible, too. Also, not being super biased is also possible. but clearly you can't do that.

Hey, killers who cry about keys, maybe instead of crying make an execel file how many people escaped with keys in 100 matches you played. I know mine - it's 0. This year, 6 months, played way over 1000 matches and exactly 0 survivors escaped with a key in my both killer and survivor matches.
Maybe you all being a bit overdramatic don't you think?
Every small buff survivor gets - iM QuItInG tHe GaMe. Stop being drama queens, no you not quiting, that else are you gonna do, something actually useful? LOL.
This is so unbelievable that i...don't believe you. You are lying, period.

Devs don't like Killers. They're not as profitable as the whinging survivor mains who can't figure out how to stop holding Shift + W yet swear everything has 'no counterplay'.

Yes! And survivors have to do GENS to get that to happen. It’s not like they are just hiding in a locker for 5 minutes waiting for the hatch to spawn to escape with a key. They have to do their objective.
And a Killer has to two-hook a survivor to mori them. But let's look at direct key counters.
PERKS
Franklin's Demise - Does nothing now.

Oh hey, there's nothing else at all.

How do keys prematurely end matches? You know you still have to repair all generators for everyone to escape with a key, right? And if all generators are repaired you have lost, even if the survivors have a key or not.
Oh really?
The Hatch becomes visible after the following condition is met: Number of completed Generators = Number of alive Survivors + 1
More specifically:
- 4 Survivors alive: 5 Generators completed, Exit Gates are powered
- 3 Survivors alive: 4 Generators completed, 1 Generator left
- 2 Survivors alive: 3 Generators completed, 2 Generators left
The exception to this is when there is only 1 Survivor left alive anymore, in which case the Hatch will immediately become visible and open automatically, regardless of how many Generators have been completed.
As soon as the Hatch is visible, it can be opened manually using Keys, as well as be revealed by Aura-reading abilities..

You could loop the killer the entire game and still get camped to death at the end. What are you on about?
Then you failed at the end. That's what I'm on about - people making excuses instead of coming to the obvious conclusion, which is that they need to get better and change their strategy.

OP literally said he's getting tunneled/and camped for looping the killer.. I think that means he knows how to play against him.
Sounds like he's complaining more about how others and even the killer himself doesn't know how to play, which is reasonable since Nemesis just came out.
If he's getting camped to death, he's not winning and therefore doing it wrong.

You can’t compare keys and moris
Yes, you absolutely can. One shortens the game by removing someone from it after two hooks. The other ends the game completely if you manage to successfully do what you should be doing anyway. One is a 'make the game easier', the other is 'win the game instantly'.
-
I'm doing fine with him.

But they didn't. BHVR nerfs Killer stuff with no warning; Survivors always get a grace period. No matter, though; Once I get nemmy perked up, it'll just be a slugfest every game.

Camping screws over everyone since no play will pip up thanks to the killer not interacting with everyone. Also no one is gonna run a perk just to get a totem counter when it should just be base kit.
Why should it be? Survivors get enough free info for no work as it is. In fact if I had my way they wouldn't even get a HUD. Oversaturation of information between SWF, countless detection perks including the entirely foolproof Spine Chill, free aura reading of anyone downed or hooked - survivors know too much for zero effort. Killers have to equip perks for information like that.

I HAVE played it, multiple times, and it's just fine. No one on either side had any problem playing it. The matches went like ten minutes. Nothing about the map felt especially egregious or unfair for either side, as I played both. The killer did better every time I played than any of the survivors did so I'm also uncertain as to why so many killer mains are complaining.
And no, some of us do not want this map split into a bunch of pointlessly redundant near-duplicates. The map is complex and every area is different (and there are several wide open and outdoor areas for everyone who's decided that the map is just a single narrow hallway maze).
This is the first indoor map of this scale. There are 35 other maps to enjoy if you hate this one. Let those of us who appreciate it enjoy it. Soon enough you'll either know the map well enough not to have any serious problems or you'll just see it once a week like half the other maps in this game. Life will go on.
Yeah, I like the map. But it's probably been whined out of existence along with this glitch. Oh well; can't have nice things in DbD :(

Okay but that doesn't mean the feedback is invalid.
True. Here's what i've found regarding his tentacle: it has a short delay after it lands before it actually registers a hit and seems to stay on the ground for a half-second or so. Also, zombies move toward noise notifications - all of them. Force them to vault and do noisy things and if they refuse to leave a loop you'll soon have zombies at that loop making it so they either have to leave or get hit.

Just utter pain to use, the tentacle feels incredibly weak compared to what use it is. The wind up and cooldown feels nerfed from ptb, you pretty much need to be on someone to attempt an attack, and even then you have a higher than 50% chance of missing anyway.

How is it stupid? Instead of camping you can find people doing gens.
Math.
1 Hooked, 1 circling the hook = 50% of all survivors off gens. if a second survivor comes to lurk for the save, 75% of the survivors are not doing objective and one of the three is dying. If you do this while one is already dead, that's 0 gen progress and you win.
That's why it's stupid. Simple math.

If it works properly, you won't get games like that often at all. That's the point; at first you get easier games while it adjusts your MMR, then you start getting harder and harder matches until you hit your skill limit and plateau. That's how MMR is supposed to work.
EDIT: And yes, I am fine with losing games where my opponents were equally skilled.

Dull and boring? For Survivors yes. But also effective as always.

The reduction to Demo black heart is pretty fair it was a Grey add-on and they buffed the default version of his power anyway, no big loss. People complaining about keys are understandable but the perk screws over every item in the game in its pre-change state. If I could use the original version of Franklins back when Survs had the old Decisive, Mettle, and whatever y'all can adapt to it now lol
Aside from that sounds pretty good, Nemesis's perks got a buff, none of the addons were touched, one of the better PTB to live conversions. Though I don't play Blight enough to have an opinion on his change
Agreed. I'll adapt by never using it again and running more slowdown, camping and tunneling even harder.

How in the world is that a buff? it's a nerf. it no longer destroys items and removes them from the game entirely. Survivors can go get the item any time; they aren't pressured to get it before it disappears anymore. That's a nerf.

That should tell you the game is Survivor-sided. Otherwise people would be playing Killer more :)

Not everyone is hyper-competitive and desires the ultimate win condition at all costs. That doesn't make them a less valid player than you. Different people have different ideas of fun, and if you're not playing a game for your own enjoyment, then what are you doing?

yet as a killer at least the gameplay will either become tedious and stale or always 'feel' like sweat tot hem once they hit their personal mmr ceiling... so it isn't gonna help retain them in the LONG run while it probably will in the SHORT game like the first few months or so after mmr is out. something is going to need to be done if killers won't be seeing any more weak links in the teams they face whether they are swf or not imo. Since it'll become difficult to get a foothold in the match probably, and that will lead to losing interest in the gameplay and probably becoming very bored with being killer.
They're playing the killer, so they're probably not seeking the same sort of stimulation or casual level of comfort in a game that the survivors are seeking. They wanna be able to feel like a killer and not like they're writing up a google spreadsheet on every choice they make and that survivors make in most of their matches.
Sure they won't get many bully squads vastly above their skill level often, but there will always be smurfs and the game goes on sale a lot. But perfectly matched matchmaking without the rando potato here and there is gonna lead to pretty stale gameplay and bring a lot of dbd's major flaws and imbalances to the surface once the majority of the playerbase settles into their 'true' elo. I'll be straight up about the fact once I reach that point it'll be pretty unstimulating and I'll either go on one of a couple of alt accounts I hadn't touched yet when I'd wanna try killers again or I just wouldn't play killers any more and as a result wouldn't have a reason to pay for rifts either only being able to get half of it done.
Fine. Let the flaws be revealed and addressed; but I still want truly balanced gameplay. I guarantee it won't be boring.
@Zozzy said:
I can tell that the muddied red ranks have messed with peoples perception of their own skill.
Saying you want to play casually but still win is an impossibility in a properly balanced game. You are literally saying you want to beat up noobs and feel good about yourself for doing it.
This. But they ain't ready to hear that. It's easier to believe you're being hard done than it is to admit that your losses are because you aren't good enough to play chill.

Nah some of us killer mains perfer not to be trash. I'm not going to purposely ruin someone's game. If you farm your teammate, I'm letting them go and making sure you die. But I don't need to camp or tunnel to do that. And posts like yours make me glad the devs sometimes seem more on the survivors sides. I mean that's a reason they said they are changing moris again because killers have been toxic again with them by tunneling off every hook so they are going to make killers work for them.
You're not a Killer main. You're a carebear disguised as a Killer; one of those 'I am better because I handicap myself to be a dancing monkey' types. You are dismissed.

When I play I try to avoid camping as much as possible. I even try to alternate which survivor I hook, get as many hooks as possible, and go away to check distant generators. But often times I see a survivor circling me like a vulture while I am carrying another survivor to the hook. They don't even give me a chance to leave the area. Should I follow them in and get them as they are unhooking the other survivor? What is the proper thing to do?
Also should I keep an eye on hooked survivors from a distance? Let them get unhooked. Then go back in to the hook when I am alerted they are unhooked. (Because there will likely be two survivors in that area)
I am just asking what the best approach is. I am interested in giving everyone a fair game and proper etiquette. When I play killer I like to think of myself as dungeon master or the host of the game I am playing. But I still want to win.
Camp. Them.
If the Survivors are disrespecting you by running in the second you hook and start walking away, you stay. That means you have two survivors occupied, not doing gens and one is dying. If they won't go away, you don't go away. Punish them for every second they spend lurking around the hook like greedy little BP vultures.

Yeah, hypocrites are rampant. I watched my gal play Myers yesterday. She made me proud and played it even better than I would have. She took Spooky Myers to Badham got a PERFECT score, 4K, didn't Tunnel (I would have), and gave three of them three hooks and one of them two. I was impressed with the monster I'd helped create. During the after game chatter one Survivor proceeded to crap on her and his/her fellow Survivors. According to this person:
- The other Survivors were just babies. *They were two Purple and a Red. The complainer was a Purple.
- My gal was just BAD, carried by NOED. *They never got the last Generator up and the EGC only started when she closed the hatch.
My gal looked at me and asked me what she had done wrong. I had to take ten minutes explaining she did everything RIGHT, like to the extreme. This one salty loser made her doubt herself. To say I was angry is an understatement. I hope I pull that person sometime; I'll show him what a bad Killer actually looks like. I digress. My point is you can't let these hypocritical losers get inside your head whether it is to annoy you or to make you doubt yourself. There is no Survivor's Rulebook for Killers. There are no rules against certain Builds, nor were you "carried" by two regression Perks. Next time you get salt like that you say, "Actually, I was carried by your poor play as Survivors. I wasn't going to say anything but 'good game' but since you brought it up, you might as well know."
This, right here. This is why I won't recommend anyone I like to play DbD.

Pretty much what the OP said. I disagree with the 'just be chill' types, because they offer no challenge and therefore no fun for me on either side, but there's a lot of good advice here.
My bit of advice, and one that has served me well: Exploit expected Survivor behavior. if they go for an instant unhook the first time you hook someone, assume they will continue doing so and patrol or camp the hell out of your hooks. If they unhook and hide, leaving the unhooked to die - kill the unhooked. Take advantage of every mistake they make; you are not there to be the survivors' entertainer. You are there to kill them.

Because if it works I'm afraid I'll only get serious killers who sweat a lot. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying serious matches are bad, but only in small quantities. If I ONLY get serious matches against serious killers every day it takes away a lot of the fun for me (for instance, if I want to use the Mither of Man (Mettle of Mither) build I'll only get killed around 2 minutes in by an amazing Nurse).
This is why I really want a casual mode that's away from our current ranked (if this happens). Maybe casual mode has no ranks and less bloodpoints, but it's for survivors who want to mess around with funny perks and killers who don't want to sweat all the time.

And if you decide to keep playing DbD when you want to chill, you can't complain about other people actually doing their best to win. And you must understand that many people - especially Killers - are not screwing around. You can't have it all your way.

Not only does this perk make it really hard to get gens done if they have ruin undying and it can activate multiple times, if somebody is already dead this perk makes it really hard to complete the rest of the gens even if you already got rid of ruin. I’ve been in so many situations where we just need one gen with two people left and we’re pretty competent loopers but as soon as the killer gets the notification they can just stop it. It’s very auto pilot and annoying.
- Destroy the totems. Your first priority when you realize totems are in play should be to get rid of them; run anti-totem perks, of which there are many and one more is coming tomorrow.
- Work on stealth, particularly on breaking chase and losing Killers. This many mean running perks to help with stealth. Change up your build from the meta and run stuff like Iron Will, Lightweight, Quick and Quiet, Lucky Break and so on.
- Choose gens intelligently. Don't jump on the first gen you find; assess the map layout and try to break up 3-gens and do gens far apart from each other without leaving any dense clusters the Killer can easily patrol.
- Accept that sometimes you will get outplayed. You won't survive every trial; that's the point. If your only win condition is escaping then you have to accept that sometimes you just lose, same as Killers often do.
