We BOTH escaped that game. I still play it as an asymmetrical horror game, me tossing a pebble to someone on their first hook when I was on my last, wasn't nice but was smart as it was funny. We still got out, but oh boo hoo we didn't play it the way you wanted so I have no ground to stand on?

    First: Learn what objectively means.

Second: Swf is a feature in the game, so OBJECTIVELY I was playing the game as intended by the devs and using a perk to distract the killer as it's advertised.

Pathetic. It's my subjective opinion that your salty, entitled responses aren't worth engaging anymore. Go ahead and get the last word, but I won't be feeding you anymore.

    K. I'll take that last word and my W.

Counter point: You are one person and we are 2. If YOU leave and go somewhere else where you don't ruin our fun, more people would be happy. See how selfish and obtuse that line of logic is?

    I doubt you can.

Nope. You have far less ground to stand on. I am playing the game as intended and advertised; you are not. I bought the game to play an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game. You bought it to dick around with your buddy in a corner with pebble.

You are objectively doing it wrong; I am not.

Killers love to win overall, even the types of people who play killer specifically play killer cause. they. like. to. win.

That being said, Dead by Daylight has been very biased towards making Killers far to powerful. Within the year+ of playing, I'd flip flop between rank 3-8, which took plenty of time and effort, given I loved the gameplay overall. It was addicting fun, I'd spend about $60 for packs a month! That was until the new rank, pip, and blood points system came out.

I don't care if my luck or odds are bad every few matches if I clearly make dumb choices in that very moment; I can live with that, but I like to believe I'm not an amateur. That being said, ever since each past 2-3 or so updates I've noticed not only have hit boxes been fixed fairly enough, but Killers have been buffed when they already needed being nerfed. Nor has DBD tried to fix game mechanics to avoid toxic Killers tunneling, face camping, and griefing/exploiting to keep their title of an unfair, but high rank killer.

Without survivors, there isn't a game for Killers to enjoy. And although I understand this is a competitive game, it's also one people log onto to have fun and have a laugh over, even if we are the one's being the idiot and getting just s l a u g h t e r e d. Thing is, it's no longer enjoyable with the amounts of toxic Killers that still don't get punished for unfair game play. Constantly I hear, "This game is gonna take reports seriously." It never does. That being said, I don't think this game is listening to the high demands, which overall gonna make a high amount of gamers leave it altogether if this isn't resolved.

Wrapping this up, I'm over it. A once enjoyable game- is corrupted. I only know the sore loser Killers will continue to defend their strong builds, perks, and extra abilities to continue being these toxic winners, throwing fits to make the gameplay more of an advantage for them. Overall, I'm done with this childish, toxic fan base who prioritize a title on a game, than actual fair game play, which I personally have tried hard to stay consistently while playing DBD.

Long story short, and what my friends and I say all the time which has made multiple large discord servers quit this game,

    "This game is broken."

When red, purple, and green ranks lose every single match 15 times over? You know the Killers are far too powerful in the game mechanics. (Specifcally the Nemisis, but there's many others that need nerfing) Which honestly, has pushed me to quit until I hear they ACTUALLY, fix this issue.

    Bye.

  • @GrimmGaliard said:

There are quite a few of you who, thankfully, know that swf isn't always the real problem. Of course the "swat squads" or whatever term people call them are the worst and most dreadful of all survs.

But anyone else just play around with their friend(s)? Sitting in a corner, chucking a pebble at them so you can laugh as they take off running and swear revenge? Hook diving because "Nooo! Matt has been killed two games in a row, I will not let there be a third time!" Then both of you get hooked and he calls you a tosser? Or something.

It feels like every day, someone is trying to neuter the ability to just chill with your mates. Solo queue just feels so tedious and tense in comparison, and I don't think I'd play the game much longer if that's all it offered me.

I don't understand what you even want. Do you want nobody to care if you ruin games for your fun? Some of us come for a good competitive game within the confines of DbD's rules. That's our fun. You are ruining that. Play properly or go to VRChat or something where you and your buddy can roleplay being idiots without screwing up anyone's experience.

  • @Zozzy said:

you don't. The game is fully in their hands and how they abuse discord chat.

What are you thinking? What is reason of rates? Lets discuss.

Excessive altruism has gotten me more kills than absolutely anything else over the years. Most Survivors will go to insane lengths to save someone from dying and I thank them for the free kills and BP.

I actually would love if the forums had a little tutoring section where people can get together and train!!!! I used to hate playing killer because loops are tough for me, but I started to learn with people and I am slowly but surely getting better. I would not have expected that. I'm not particularly good with Bubba but I'd be stomping with him compared to Nemmy

Unsolicited advice, but you should give PH a shot if you haven't. Mostly the same playstyle as Nemmy (punishing pallets/narrow pathways/window vaults) and you need to prep the attack a little earlier, but he's pretty much better in every other way. If you're doing well with Nemmy, you'd be steamrolling survivors with PH

I've played plenty of PH. I don't like him; his ranged attack feels like a guessing game and his trails have basically no effect.

  • @musstang62 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2288585#Comment_2288585

I think that's kind of missing the point though. If you're good at playing killer in general, you can still manage to do ok with garbage killers like legion and trapper

If you're doing well with Nemesis, you'd do much better by picking 2/3 of the killer roster instead. It's not that it's impossible to win with him - it's that he sucks when compared to the bulk of the roster

Nope. I'm outperforming all my Killers with him, including my Main, Bubba. And getting even nastier as I improve with him game by game.

  • Still doing fine with Nemesis. You guys are using him wrong.

  • Some say he's weak, others (like me) say he's perfect, some say he's too strong.

    Depends on who you ask.

  • My zombies get numerous hits and downs every single game. Are you using them correctly?

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2288188#Comment_2288188

No, it doesn't force killers to allow saves, you can still intercept. You just can't squat the hook anymore.

And if a survivor is looping you around the hook with 'no consequences', then they could loop you elsewhere where there would be the exact same consequences, with the one exception that there'll be 3 survivors working on gens as opposed to one of them dangling on the hook the entire time. The issue isn't the hook timer slowing, it's you getting looped for what is apparently 80+ seconds.

And all of that can be fixed by making the hook timer progress as normal when the killer is in a chase and for 10 seconds after it to cover spotty detection.

Fairness can factor into the wider picture. Loads of killers are complaining about high gen speeds, but nothing can be slowed down because any slowdown would be a direct and substantial buff to camping as a strategy. If camping is nerfed harshly enough, the game can be slowed down overall to give killers more breathing room.

Camping is holding the entire game hostage, not just that one sucker on the hook.

Okay, man. You're clearly biased and don't play Killer at all, so we'll end this conversation here.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Much as I don't like camping, it serves a purpose. However atm there really isn't a downside for utilizing it early on to kill one Survivor before people actually realize you're camping.

And there shouldn't be. It's on the Survivors to be aware of what's happening. You have tons of ways to keep track of the action. Bring a map instead of a medkit or toolbox. Run Object or Bond. Or just be an SWF on voice and eliminate the need for all that.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2287799#Comment_2287799

To be fair, the only thing anyone's ever put up as a counter argument was that the anti-camping mechanism made camping inefficient.

    Which... Is kinda the point.

No, it made camping impossible and forced Killers to just allow saves or lose and made it so Survivors could just loop the hook with no consequences. Why do you think that's fair?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2287677#Comment_2287677

There is no camping issue. Losing isn't supposed to be fun, and putting killers in a situation where a single survivor is equal to (or stronger than) them is just poor balance. That's how asymmetrical games die, when the 1 in the 4v1 is equal to each individual survivor.

Camping is only fun for one type of player: trolls. They are not killer mains, they're trolls. Their "fun" is in seeing threads like this.

Again, you're still new. I can escape despite camping, and so can other survivors.

Say it louder for the ones in the back, Orion.

There are many things survivors can do that isn't fun for the killer.

In the end it isn't on your opponents to make the game fun for you, go play killer and play as you preach and go find out how fun that is or how the survivors act towards you...

The community teaches you as a killer very quickly to stop caring about the fun of the survivors.

Ah, a disciple from the Killers are Human Too movement. Careful, you know it isn't socially acceptable to expect that Killers be able to have fun and win.

I have played league since beta, i am used to losing and dont mind it. I am aware I am new but also the game feels fundamentally flawed with a heavy swing in a killers favor in these lower ranked lobbies. Between constant slugging or camping / annoying killers to the D/C players who legit quit once hooked. The game just itself, isnt fun. To try and tell someone "learn to think the game is fun when its constant losses" is pretty garbage lol.

Remember you said this when you are an experienced thousand-hour Survivor easily looping even the best Killers with four second chance perks. Remember that feeling of constantly losing when you're doing it to the Killer. Keep that same energy even then, so when they say 'hey this feels unfair' you should be the first one to call for changes. Okay?

  • I said from the start that Eruption was crazy good and I've been getting great use out of it. It's not hard to make it an extremely valuable gen slowdown perk.

  • Nothing to see here. Another survivor expecting free wins when they lost because 'I always give someone hatch'.

that's your fault for being bad, not anyone else's and nobody else is obligated to play that way. Git gud; stop being a carebear and be a Killer.

  • @justbecause said:

Tinkerer + Ruin on a high mobility Killer

I don't think those perks need to be nerfed personally, but you have to admit they make a 3v1 or 2v1 a drawn out slog for Survivors in the same way that Spine Chill Blendies can for Killers.

Any two perks on any Killer who can make good use of them are powerful. You aren't making a compelling argument here, especially since the scenario you described requires that the Survivors be so far behind on completing their objectives that they can't come back. this means they probably failed to do gens intelligently and let themselves get 3-genned, didn't do gens while that other one or two Survivors were being chased, hit twice and carried to a hook three times each or they failed to make smart saves and keep their teammate in the game to provide value on objectives. Either way, it all sounds like 'the Survivors failed to do their jobs and dont want to be punished for it'.

I get it; most people play games to 'chill'. But not everyone; some of us play to win and if you come to chill and have fun while your opponent comes to kick ass and take names, you are going to lose and it's nobody's fault but your own. Period.

Just go on YouTube. It’s 4K games every time. Or look up the stats on kill rates, which are crazy high. In fact I’d ask you to find me a video of a streamer not getting an easy 4K 90% of the time. I’ll wait.

I watch plenty of streamers and what I see is: bad Survivors making bad mistakes - usually excessive altruism - getting bodied by Killers who are playing to win. Streamers are also a bad sample because they literally play the game for a living and oftentimes were extremely skilled before they started streaming. Watching streamers won't help you improve; in fact it'll just give you a warped idea of how to actually play skillfully. Streamers play to entertain, not to do well at the game. They are putting on a show for their viewers and thus should not be taken as examples of normal play.

Let's be honest here if someone makes a pretty awful mistake it's pretty hard to resist not roasting them for it. Granted I feel those are rare. Even if it's all in good fun like dropping the pallet in chase on the wrong side and getting swatted down for it.

It makes me actually wince when I'm chasing someone and they drop the pallet on the wrong side. Physically painful to see.

  • @Dustin said:

Most people are too arrogant and fragile to take criticism. I don't struggle to win versus most killers but I do recognize I make mistakes. Granted I feel there's a difference between mistakes you could avoid if you knew something you didn't and mistakes you made while having all the information on hand. Case by case basis I feel.

If I get time I'll dump one of my games here and you can roast my gameplay I'm just busy.

I don't wanna roast. I want to analyze.

    Well, maybe roast a little.

  • @aroell said:

In fact all you survivors swearing you just can't win, here's an open invitation: Let me spectate some of your games and give you some advice from a Killer perspective. if you play anything like all the streamers I watch, you are a very bad Survivor and probably don't understand what Killers can actually do or how they think and play like you expect them to let you win.

Besides which, anyone who says that the map is just running in a straight line is either exaggerating or hasn't played it. The map has an abundance of ways to play because the architecture is NOT just a straight line. There are narrow hallways, yes (which is a strange thing for killers to complain about) but there are also loads of corners, lots of obstacles, massively wide open areas (see the map that someone kindly provided earlier in this thread), balconies, staircases, dead ends, rooms with multiple exits, etc.

No Killer who isn't utter garbage complains about indoor maps. They just want to always be zoom-zoom Nurse/Spirit/Billy (Not so much Billy anymore; poor guy :( ).

That's why so many people hate and suck with Nemesis, Myers, Ghostface and a host of other Killers. They can't play anything that requires more than two seconds of actual thinking rather than go fast twitch reflexes.

  • Let me end this thread: Don't get caught. Let go of Shift + W; use stealth instead of running everywhere. When you know you're facing a Leatherface - the best hook defender in the game - whatever you do don't go down near the basement. And last of all do gens.

But what won't help you is blaming your opponent for playing to win. Your fun is not important to anyone but you.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284734#Comment_2284734

The map is essentially running in a straight line until you get to a loop a rank 21 could counter and do it again until you die. Boring for both sides

    Use stealth.

    Problem solved.

It's not free. It does nothing if you aren't infected and if you are then either Nemesis or they already hit you once with a no-damage hit. Three hit downs are not unreasonable, especially when you got yourself stuck in a bad spot due to lack of map awareness. You're not changing my mind on this one; git gud.

But, like...one of the killers was going out of their way to slug people to die on the ground when we hadn't even gotten a single gen done. I get the rush at the end, tunneling that person you have on the hook when the exit gates are open or when it's the only chance you're only going to get a single kill. But, why do people go out of their way to be dicks when they are in the biggest lead you can have in that game.

Killers disabling their opponents early is smart tactics. Your problem is that you expect them to play 'fair'. Are you going to do the same and ease off of gens if the Killer is doing poorly?

Then you messed up and deserve to go down, which goes back to what i said: Don't get cornered. pay attention to something other than 'do i hear a heartbeat?'. Adapt to there being hazards aside from the Killer. If zombies get nerfed any more it'll just lead to BHVR assuming people don't like interactive elements and we'll never get anything interesting again.

STOP using this ######### word incorrectly! RNG means 'Reandom Number Generator' and there is nothing random about them! They go toward noise notifications and track survivors in their detection range. Otherwise they wander aimlessly. That isn't random; it's very controllable and predictable.

  • Disagree. Don't get cornered. Pay attention. use your eyes and ears.

Three games in a row when survivors have multiple keys. Why? Incompetence. Moris had a surprise nerf, thats fair I don't care, but what I am upset with is the blatant announcement of "keys are next hur durr". Survivors are using all of their keys. Its fine, we got Franklin's Demise.

Time passes and Resident Evil chapter is on the PTB. Wow, Nemesis, syringes, flashbangs, how cool. Can't wait for June 15. The time comes and console players suffer, the game crashes sometimes and they disabled the new map. Typical Behavior, nothing we can do. I play nemesis, and I see 3 key users. After promptly losing, I take a break. Watch a Scott Jund video, turns out Franklin's was nerfed. What?

I play a new game. 2 keys, I equip Franklin's. Still lost, why? Thanks to behaviors fantastic intuition, instead of fixing the code for syringes, they nerf Franklin's. Why? I just lost 3 games with keys, moris and Franklin's nerfed, my games are infested with keys.

Lost every single one because even if I tunnel, either they pick it up or another person has another key. Why are killers forced to deal with this? Why did moris get surprise nerfs yet announce key nerfs? Survivors bully killers and killers are forced to deal with it? Why do you think survivor queue times are long? How is this fair?

I have a whole thread about this. it got poo-pooed by the legion of Survivor mains and sympathizers who swear it's fair and balanced.

Save your energy. BHVR doesn't care and their survivor minions are only too happy to have easy no-brain wins.

  • I think you're the one who's 'dull of sense'

  • Disagree. Been doling great since I first played him on the PTB. It's a you problem.

  • @hailxsatanxeveryxday said:

I'm not familiar with the specifics, but a lot of people have said that when Pyramidhead was released, he was an S-tier killer before being nerfed to B-tier once BHVR had turned enough of a profit, and now I'm scared they'll do something like that to Nemesis.

Granted, Nemesis definitely isn't an S-tier killer (he's a low A-tier at the very most), but nerfing him any would make him unplayable. I want him to stay exactly the way he is.

I actually hear some people here complaining that he might be underpowered, but I don't think that's the case, either. Maybe it's just that I usually play Myers or Ghostface, and being able to win loops and have map pressure without perks is a new experience for me, but I don't think the comparisons to Trickster are fair (Trickster is a ######### dork).

The zombies are stupid, yes, but... they're zombies. They're not supposed to be rocket scientists. I'd like it if they turned around as soon as they ran into a blocking object instead of aimlessly shambling into a rock for ten seconds, but that's mostly because it just looks goofy. Otherwise, they do their job well. They provide decent map pressure by forcing survivors off of gens, and they also provide decent tracking. They can't actually down survivors unless survivors are repeatedly running into them, and they aren't generally able to hit survivors unless both of them are on the basement stairs or something. The zombies are my favorite part, and I feel like nerfing them would be an especially huge mistake.

The hitbox for the tentacle attack is small, and the cooldown animation is annoying, but it makes up for these by being able to break pallets and hit survivors that are well out of reach for M1. It's going to take some practice to be good at it, but I imagine it will be very usable once one gets the hang of it. I've managed a Merciless once out of four or five games, and I'm not a great killer yet (12 is the highest I've gotten).

The contamination mechanic and the vaccines are also a powerful counter to Nemesis, giving survivors an extra health state as well as free healing. This seems fair, since survs are going to get tracked frequently, but nerfing the killer any more on top of this would knock Nemesis down to D or C-tier.

On top of all that, the RE Chapter gives survivors some of the most impressive and powerful survivor perks in the history of the game, including a game-changing counter to Hex perks. (And I don't think that any of these should be nerfed, either.)

Nemesis seems like a fairly well-balanced killer, and I hope his playstyle doesn't change significantly. I wouldn't say no to tweaking the zombie AI slightly to make them less likely to try to walk through walls for half a minute, and I'd also make it so that T2 and T3 could break pallets and hit survs at the same time (it only seems to do one or the other), but, overall, I think he's a unique but very well-balanced killer.

You all have got me paranoid. What is the likelihood that BHVR nerfs this killer into the ground once I've really started to enjoy myself with him?

What this guy said. he's not weak, but most people lack the kind of intelligence necessary to do well with him; too many 'run run run go fast' type brains. No startegists, no thinkers, just 'Killer go fast?!'

I've noticed. Whenever someone says that an indoor map is "bad" or "terribly designed" or "doesn't fit DBD" (the last of which is a pretty damn stupid argument. There are no interior locations in a fantasy realm where murderers keep killing innocent victims in perpetuity? Oh, okay. Guess I didn't read the rulebook) the only thing they ever say as "evidence" to back up their claim amounts to personal preference and nothing more. "The map is too big". "The map is too confusing". "The map is dull". "The map is boring". "There are too many pallets". "Killer XYZ isn't as good on that map". I've asked, and am still waiting, for someone to give me a detailed account as to all the ways that any given map causes actual gameplay interference, actually messes things up like the Twins being able to bodyblock (a removal that the killer mains complained about), preventing someone from being able to reach a generator, glitches like clipping errors or characters being able to get onto unreachable objects, etc.

Nope. None of that. Ever. It's just "It's bad because it doesn't lend itself to this playstyle or that killer as much as some of the other maps do". In other words, nothing but pure, unbridled opinion based on nothing more than people wanting more of an advantage and not getting one. Then they scoff when I say that there are 30 maps in the game that are NOT indoors. "So what? A bad map is a bad map". Here's what: Just because you hate a map doesn't mean that it's objectively poorly designed, and just because you don't like playing on it doesn't mean that everyone else has to. Finally, just because you don't like it doesn't mean that you don't have plenty of other maps, some of which OTHER people can't stand, to balm your pain and give you plenty of opportunities for matches that DO suit your preferences.

I learned to stop thinking that other people shouldn't get to enjoy what I don't like when I was like seven years old. I can't explain why so many other people fail to understand the concept.

People have definitely been exploiting the opportunity, placing all the blame on the map itself (which worked perfectly fine in the PTB) as well as trying to leverage it into excuses for removing all indoor maps altogether. I don't think that most of them are actually, SERIOUSLY trying to achieve this, but several people have still said as much. It's annoying. I want this new map and I don't give a ######### whether other people like it or not. This game has plenty of room for all kinds of different maps. This one's unique, it's never been done before on this scale. I like it, and I want it kept in. The other people will have to live with it just like I have to live with two dozen maps that are fields dotted with trees.

You know what? I actually agree with you on all but one thing here: the twins bodyblocking. That needed to stay. it gave them a unique strategy they could employ and now it's just gone for no real gain.

Yeah.. because a good killer doesn't just lose a survivor, especially without them having perks made for it.

That brings me back to my point, that you're referring to level 20 noobs.

If the killer wants you dead, you're most likely dead. There's no more discussion to it. Of course the killer can screw up, but that's not something to rely on.

Aight. I mean, I guess the people who I've seen manage it countless times at red ranks over the last five years were figments of my imagination.

No I'm not, I literally don't see keys in my games.... ever. The only keys I see is me bringing green keys for aura reading and if I feel cheeky and want to be chased because I know sure as hell killer gonna tunnel and camp me for DARING to bring an item which is in a game.

    Okay.

Don’t complain about keys then. And self respect? You are not doing anything illegal. If you don’t like keys no one will stop you from leaving. And it’s not cheating.

Disconnecting explicitly is cheating, actually. Better solution: Make keys reasonable. They're way too good right now.
