I've played 2 games and got 4k on both playing at rank 16. Games were on Yamoka and AutoHaven and I haven't had the chance to try no way out yet. M1 works against the lower skiled players and there lower ability to escape allows you to actually down with knives.
3 of the 8 players were more skilled than the rest, 2 of them kept zig zagging, 1 decided to crouch in circles around anything in the vicinity and both were effective, but it time, inevitable downs.
Seen a lot of hate for trickster and deservedly so, he needs recoil, movement and power reworks, BUT, people on here seem to have forgotten than not everyone is a red rank superstar and there is a place for the less skilled characters in the game at lower ranks.
######### m1 nurse is viable at low ranks.

Busted.
Serious note: no, he's healthy for the game. A fun killer with counterplay from both sides, shreds through pallets and punishes greed but can be punished for greed and struggles hard with windows. Definitely not a problem.
Oh karu never knew you streamed Ill be sure to follow. It sounds like you are UK right so for once a streakmer in the same timezone as me lol.

I feel you, and for that reason if I have a 4 person swf, I play with people who enjoy playing stupid instead of sweat. We went against a streamer one time who played trapper and we (not purposely, for once) played really dumb and farmed each other the whole game. We were actually trying that game, we just had terrible coordination for whatever reason. I watched that guy's stream the next day just to see what he thought and my mans actually said "I can't tell if they're bad or just throwing".
*Insert crying cat thumbs up meme*
Yeah lmao imo that is the best way for the game to be played just people having fun but I just wonder whats going on in the brains of super sweats. I dont even mind tourneys since its sweat v sweat but please I dont wanna go to haddonfield for the 5th game in a row I just wanna play mirror myers with a backpack.

Sure, it will be better performance wise, but gameplay wise it should be the same without "exclusive" techs for one platform. EXPECIALLY if they aren't intended.
Yeah I can agree with that but streteched has been for so long that I dont know if BHVR agrees

I'm sorry you had to deal with whatever you did. I usually play with 2 other people and if you went against us i think you'd have fun bc all we do is get chased and farm each other like idiots lol
I dont mind normal 4 mans or any regular SWF unlike most poeple it just ones that do everything possible to suck all the fun out of the game just to win

Unbreakable isn't a problem if you hook the survivor after downing them. Unless the killer is so desperate to grow their ego & slug to take hatch out of the equation so they can win with no escapes over & over again...
Unbreakable ruins killers like plague myers and specifially oni, a lot of killers slug for pressure since most of the time its a better idea to slug than immeditly hook.
-
@Phasmamain said:
You could say the same about people who play meta build nurse and spirit all day. They both just want to win more than have fun
Exactly. Killers can do the exact same thing but I always find SWF more facinating because its not just 1 person its 4 people who all think like this and just want to obliterate every killer off the face of the earth.

Twins is just a disaster but this hotfix is in-line with BHVR's plans to look at their kit and make some adjustments so fingers crossed they'll get an update.
I can't comment on Blight's playability due to him making me incredibly nauseous but from watching ScottJund and hearing from Jackie then I've heard his height change was good, the collision change was not
Yeah the height cahnge was dope but somehow the collision was made buggier.

You can see over every loop without Stretched Res, it just increases the amount you can see. Against shorter killers it can actually, very occasionally, give you I formation you couldn't access, but for the most part the reason it's in bad taste is because it makes looking over walls an absolute breeze instead of a commited effort.
Exactly it lets you see over way more which makes a bunch of killers visable. You can counter J flicks you cant counter survivors seeing every mindgame

You'd hope so but I'm not entirely sure they'll fix either for a couple months. Fixing resolution scaling is easier said than done and if they just hard cap Blight's turn restriction for that first frame too it'll destroy what he plays like.
The Devs really dont care how he plays like, they managed to make his collosion even buggier in the last patch from my experience and I still cant play twins without getting numerous bugs each game.

Oh, I know, and Stretched is still an issue that should be complained about alongside J-flick. But pretending one, or both, aren't exploits when they clearly are is wrong. not_Queen explicitly confirmed that Stretched Resolution is an exploit on one of Tru3Ta1ent's streams, McLean has explicitly confirmed the J-Flick is not intended and a bug (and subsequently fits the definition of an exploit, implicitly confirming that it is an exploit). Both should, and must, be fixed.
Stretched has been there for many years but Im guessing we will get a J flick fix in the next hotfix
-
@MadLordJack said:
Honestly, those two are incomparable. Stretched Res makes something easier, J-flicking adds something entirely new/takes something else away.
I dislike both of them, but one is clearly the bigger exploit.
Stretched rez makes many loops unmindgameable. J flick is countered by walking in a different direction. J flicking isnt something entirely new its literally just a bigger flick and it takes nothing away.

Exactly, now it's worse because the many Solo Queue killers who already had a hobby of camping and tunneling are now getting a PhD on them, and the Solo Queue survivors who already couldn't run them for more than two seconds now don't bring the only perk that doubled their lifetime to those tunnelers.
Like I said, I am very happy about the DS nerf since it being abused was a big issue, but the perk was never good at preventing tunneling and now it's even worse at it so I get where people are coming from.
Personally I think it should be buffed to not go down in chase and work twice but people who want old DS when you could abuse the ######### out of it are the reason it deserved the nerf in the first place.
-
I typically dont but I had this one awful experience. It was a 3 man that was literally queueing up for game to try and sandbag solo Q players. I mean they spam vaulted windows and pallets and #########. They would get on a gen I was working on just to fail skillchecks, every time they got chased they would lead the killer to me, they all swapped to my character and put on the exact same outfit as me. When I got hooked all 3 of them came to just Tbag me. People like those are awful.

So people complaining about Trickster means they made an amazing killer? People complaining about Blight's new collision means it's perfect and people are just blind? I agree with the DS nerf but "people complain about it so it's good" mindset is just rude, the people who wants overpowered stuff to win games is the minority here. Many people complain about the DS nerf because now a lot more killers are tunneling and the perk is as weak as always at preventing it, and since now a lot less people are using it Solo Queue because rougher than ever.
? I dont know where you are getting that from the poiint of my post is just showing that so many people are complaining about it now when it does the same thing as previous except now you cant abuse it.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
I'll start of by saying I'm a killer main, mainly with Clown and Demo rn.
Most of the complaints aren't that DS was nerfed too hard, it's that due to DS being used a lot less, tunneling is a lot more common. There are many games where I've seen no obsession which I'll admit isn't what I like seeing as, although I don't tunnel, alot of killers do when given the opportunity.
I know you'll probably say "They should equip DS and all that" but there should be a better solution than that imo, a base obsession possibly? Or something similar to such?
There are the people who did for some reason think DS was balanced. It wasn't at all, but something does need to be done about tunneling.
Yeah I do think you have like no reason to complain about there not being an obsession if you aren't bringing one but I do think a base obsession would be good for the game.

Yeah but after the long run it had of being completely OP and always one of the best survivor perks its better to be safe than sorry cause we all know if there is any leniancy in the rules someone will find a way to exploit the hell out of it and make it just as broken as before.

@MeltingPenguins said:
Whatever you might think about tunneling, camping and slugging, you have to admit that if DbD would be played officially competitive these approaches would probably get prohibited by the rules.
And that's the point. the devs seem currently out to make dbd e-sports ready, yet they say tunneling etc are legit tactics, make things more exciting and that frustration is fun.
Like... if they are aware these elements would get barred in actual big tournaments, why are they keeping them in the regular game?
(lbr we know the answer is because it caters to all the bloated ego brats who thing basement bubba is skill and will throw a tantrum when someone had kindred and they depip from it)
Have you ever seen a DBD tourney. This is more or less how they work. The game played optimally involves lots of tunneling camping and slugging. These are even more effective in tourneys since survivors cannot have multiples of most perks. Still only nurse, blight and spirit only ever have chances to 4k.

And just another one about your camera movement complains. It is not the whole body that bumps around (at least it seems that is what you expect to happen ingame) and also the recoil is not applied to your head only (=moving the camera). BUT when you throw a bunch of knives, your head pretty much will move somehow. Not as direct feedback from the knive, but as a result from the throwing movement. Or do you look like that when you throw a lot of knives

That's the thing: that medkit efficiency weighs more than unhook speed, which further tips the balance in Botany's favour.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2073207#Comment_2073207
Yes, they allow different options, and..
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2073206#Comment_2073206
Yes, they can be stacked. But that doesn't make these perks -good-, which is the point of the topic. Desperate measures should pay off considerably more to weigh out the drawbacks when compared to Botany. Maybe 16% or even 17% per stack, for example.
With similar functionality, perks should resolve to a similar average. I can see that happening between Botany and We'll Make It, but I'm pretty sure Desperate Measures will average out to less than Botany.
Take Autodidact for comparison: it -can- outperform both Botany and Desperate measures, and you generally just need to get two heals in for it to do so. All it needs is an RNG dependency fix and it's good to compete with We'll Make It and Botany. Sure, it's risky as all hell, but it's also got one of the highest payoffs.
Yes and on average despate measuers is only slightly slower than Botany.

I'd use Starstruck over Mad Grit now, but body blocking while carrying a survivor with both Iron Grasp and Agitation is virtually a non-issue, and you should run a more general perk at that point. STBFL would be good, and then your fourth perk can be something to deal with chases or slow down generators.
..... Startstruck removes the whole point of backpack builds.

Swinging to cancel the animation is mechanical and not a bug. It may have initially been unintended and some parts of it were changed compared to the PTB, but swinging to cancel the animation is intended behavior.
then why did it get fixed?
-
Worse on PC you can get that with Nea, Meg and Feng's hair
-
I have eyes so I dont need it 99% of the time against most killers but I still run it sometimes just cause of how much it lets me ######### with stealth killers.
-
Yes very much so
-
@konchok said:
J flicking is an exploit not a tech. I consider a tech as taking advantage of game mechanics to make a play. An exploit is taking advantage of a bug to gain an advantage.
Survivors get exploits too. Taking advantage of a location that you can run through as survivor but the killer cannot to make an infinite is an exploit not a tech.
Turning your DPI to insane levels to flick Blight past what is intended is an exploit. This isn't rocket science.
Then why isnt fatigue cancel a tech by swinging at the right time it plays the swing animation which cancels the fatigue animation. It is intended that you can swing and takes advantage of that to cancel the animation.

But that's the problem with these perks. Yes, built to last is a decent perk -if- you drop in with an item that's been kitted out to the max. Desperate only beating Botany -if- literally the entire team is injured, which is probably only going to happen if it's Legion, Plague (And then you can't use it because of Broken) or Hag (And then you can't use it, because you can't move due to traps). Botany, for comparison, is about equal if there's 3 injured, and better if there's only one or two. We'll Make It blows both out of the water as long as it's up, which only requires an unhook.
And I mean, your defence of Power Struggle is that it could work, -if- combined with two other perks and help from your team. That's not what I call a good perk. That's an entire build dedicated to making the killer drop you, once. And it's hard countered by getting picked up.
There's a lot of perks that, under ideal circumstances could get some moderate value out. But a lot of them have too many requirements, or too harsh ones, or they don't have that much output, or they are overshadowed by a similar perk that's more consistent or more powerful.
Botany doesnt effect unhook speeds which is surprisingly useful. Also oyu can stack botany and desprate measure. Sure Power Struggle isnt that strong by itself but it is defintly one of those perks that has changed how kilers play. Most killers no longer walk through pallets while carrrying people cause of it.

I think window techs got removed. I haven't been window teched once in a while, and every attempt ends up with them rubbing against my legs like a dog. They probably added vaulting collision a while back.
IIRC there is kinda a new one where while the killers vaulting if you point and crouch the killer cannot see you so they will insinctvly move forward a bit and you cna vault back.

While it does technically make Blight deeper, the J flick is obviously not intended due to his stiff sterring by default, that and the devs saying so. It also removes his main form of counterplay. People like Blight because he is strong but also has defined counterplay, like old Billy. We don't need people abusing this to lead to a Billy nerf situation. We know how heavy handed and misguided the devs can be with this stuff.
It also requires 3rd party tools to actually pull off properly. For example, I literally would not be able to get my dpi high enough with my current mouse to even do it. That's not a good thing.
I mean J flick still does have counterplay and its gotten to the point where people call normal flicks exploits. I dont play on that high of a sense but because I flicked I got reported for "exploiting" by someone who was mad. Even a 90 flick can hit survivors behind you a fair bit cause of how blight hitboxes work. If you just try to dodge his rush J flick wont help unless you try to dodge by running behind him. I know it can be used on certain loops to get hits but like most of the clip I have seen of that the survivors could have avoided it if they just dropped the pallet. DH still counters J flicks making it to a window or pallet counters it. I personally dont do it cuase I am too lazy but like its gotten to the point where people start calling normal flicks exploits which is a bit extreme. I personally dont mind if blight has it since it makes him actually stand a chance VS nurse and spirit and spirit has less counterplay. Like blight is one of the best contenders with Nurse and Spirit and he is just as if not more skillful as Nurse and J flicks dont make him as uncounterable as Nurse or Spirit he still has more counterplay than them even with J flicks.

Killers have craploads of techs.
There's the general ones like tractor tech, TL tricks, and specific mind games you can play at tiles like jungle gyms.
Then there's the map specific ones like jumping onto lockers/pallets from the top of coal tower, jumping the hole in the floor on Badham, dropping through the window on Disturbed Ward.
Then there's the killer specific ones. Doctor can lock survivors into the killer shack. Trapper can use traps to avoid getting pallet stunned. Hag can use her traps' camera spinning effect to make survivors miss vaults or doors. Legion even even has a forbidden tech that lets him avoid his frenzy cool down if he gets blinded while vaulting.
The only one of those thats actually a tech is tractor tech. Mindgames are not techs
