Yep, a dev answered that they added the cooldown to counter the possible genrushing with busted toolboxes. Tankbuilds with medkits will be incredibly strong now though.
I actually started typing this before checking any of the forums so yeah makes sense. Medkit thought are gonna be blood spooky with new Bacon Tomato Lettuce

I am one of those people who love to try unconventional builds and one of my previous favorites for solo survivor is built to last, streetwise, resilience, and fast track with a purple toolbox yellow durability addon, and brown durability addon. This build is really really good its one of those builds where you never hear about it and only a little people know about it, while it is very very not useful in chases you can pretty much pump out generators with this build.
Now imagine this build with a team full of people using it, with the new buffed built to last making toolboxes last even longer. Did I even mention that streetwise stacks, so if everyone brought streetwise you could basically make a purple toolbox last an entire generator and a half a generator?
I love this perk combo, but I am worried that this is going to get out of hand fast, I don't want this build to be ruined, but at the same time, I do think that it's not a good thing to make built to last so much better.
I just made a post TLDR if you run a toolbox it is gonna be actually weaker to use all your BTL charges.
-
My guess is they are next on the chopping block. Thank god I am trying to grow up from a screaming baby main to a screaming man main. Also you can get over 9 heals with a medkit and new BTL so if you want to reduce the population of Twins mains just run that.

EU has 2 servers actually! One in London (England) and one in Frankfurt (Germany). Sometimes these servers are overloaded- or another survivor is very underpopulated- and the game directs you elsewhere. Trying to queue again in a couple of minutes usually fixes the issue.
Oh wow thats great to know I was wondering why my games randomly switched from perfect ping to 100+ seemingly randomly from game to game. Is there any feature to like never queue up onto Frankfurt servers regardless of how long it would take to queue onto a London. I would much rather que for twice or even triple the time and get not so laggy games than getting games where I somehow manage to lunge backwards from lag. It isnt fun to be a laggy killer and it isnt fun for survivors either so idm browsing the forums more or watching YT between matches.

Where are you meant to play, just out of curiosity?
I actually had a simalar experience the other day where I was in Ireland 1 of the survivors was also Ireland, 1 didnt talk, 1s entire profile was japaneese and all their friends etc and their location was japaneese and the last survivor name was in cyrillic but they had a private profile and also didnt talk. The potentially japaneese player didnt talk either but they were really laggy so I was wondering if it was a VPNer or something. EU seems to just share 1 server though since I see a lot of eastern europeans despite being in Ireland.

That's a fair point, but I wish the devs would kind of add this type of nerf to camping into the base game at some point.
They did. It did not work.

Every twin perk, every nemesis perk, every wraith perk, unerving, overwhelming, lightborn needs a rework not a buff, all of freddy's perks, all of slinger's perks except ret cause ya know already got it, every demo perk except surge, all of huntress' perks, all of onis perks, dragons grip, all of ph's perks, deerstalker needs a secondary effect so it isnt just a QOL perk, distressng but its kinda made to be a bad perk, dying light, furative, hangmans, insidious needs a rework not a buff, iron grasp, knockout needs rework not a buff, monstrous, spies needs a rework not a buff unless the buff makes it map wide, stridor needs a rework or a secondary effect, unrelenting.
Long list but I would say the survivor one is longer

1) kinda the same thing with flashlight saves and lightborn. i mean i like to use lightborn, but also always avoid picking up in vulnerable positions just incase of a flash light.
2) being able to prevent gens from being worked is on fine even if it's only a single person. the more you can get them off the better. also agitation and iron grasp are a thing. bamboozle and crowd control. same perk, used in different ways. same with exhaustion perks.
3) this would help with chases and or locating the obsession (if its an obsession perk cold be debated). otherwise it's just the opposite. you know there there before they leave. kinda of the same with bloodwarden and no way out.
1) Lightborn is really terrible perk design imo we do not need more perks simalar to it.
2) Yes but like take Agitation and Iron Grasp one makes wiggling a lot less effective on you the other makes you get to hooks faster. Getting a notification when 1 person touches a gen vs when 2 people touch a gen is the same perk but better unless you really care about the aura. Comparing bamboozle to crowd contorl is the worst. They have 1 thing in common they block windows, one is a hex one isnt, one procs when survivors vault and can apply to multiple windows one is when the killer vaults and applies to 1. Unless it was to be a hex it is just a better discordance in every situation I can think of.
3) Who tf even uses lockers, it is a pretty direct counter to quick and quiet which isnt a great perk, even if the idea was obsession locating A) dont go into the locker if your the obsession and B) compared to Iron Maiden they wont be exposed when leaving. Also a survivor entering a locker is pretty pointless to know. Ok so a survivor entered a locker nearby are they gonna stay in there or just instaleave or what. Knowing when a survivor leaves the locker is 10x better
2 seems like a direct upgrade to a current perk and 3 seems like a direct downgrade to a perk thats bad to being with. Of the ideas 2 seems the best but like it needs to be a hex or have some condition.

I have a "fun" build for any Killer who wishes to be extremely annoying and also waste everyone's time. I call it "Enforced Naptime".
- Knock Out
- Deerstalker
- Iron Grip/Agitation
- Whispers (Optional)
Bring a Badham or Haddonfield offering.
The objective isn't to win or stop gen progress or kill Survivors; it's to place Survivors on mattresses, and have them stay there. That's literally it. There are 2 mattresses on each map (I think). Your goal is to down Survivors, pick them up, and plop them on a mattress.
You can decide whether you want to pick them up last second and let them live, or if you want them to bleed out on the mattress. Works with just about any Killer, as long as you can manage to down people.
Does it count as holding the game hostage? Possibly. Is it fun? Definitely not. Will you ruin the trial for everyone? Absolutely.
Have fun!
Welp youve convinced me time to see if I got them perks.

Intresting weak killer VS really boring mediocore killer. Trying to learn what has wonky collosion is more fun than Freddy

3 would mean little-to-no counterplay to a mobile killer with BBQ, I don't want an unavoidable reveal
Iron Maiden does exactly that but when you leave and it makes you instadownable...
-
1) Pallet saves are rare enough and hard enough they dont need a perk that flat out makes them stop existing.
2) Please tell me in what world would a single player run Discordance. Adding perks that are another perk but straight up better isnt good design
3) I mean Iron Maidens a thing...
-
I love to play a very slug heavy twins usually like 5-6 hooks 4k and really game dont last that long I find games where I slug a lot end quicker than usual 12 hook games since it normally happens at like 4 or 3 gens. IKf you are talking about letting people bleed out thats just a dick move and pointless.
-
Billy got nuked so him I would say but Twins also really annoys me like their actual issue of plonking victor under a hook doesnt get addressed at all but now you need to be DS stunned every time you down someone?

Yh it would be a lot of work and i dont know whether the devs know what pallet is strong or not. Then some pallets are useless against specific killer. This system would be really difficult to implement.
You cant create a perfect MMR without an unreasonable amount of context. Like you would need killer, killers perks, gen progress, pallet strength, amount of pallets or windows nearby, did you get a stun, does the killer break the pallet, killer addons, your perks, your item and addons, the map, how rng spawned pallets, where other survivors are, what other survivors are doing etc etc. To calculate how strong a pallet is you would literally need the entire match.
-
I call it the "I really ######### hate dead hard" build.
Pig with extra trap or ruleset no2 + exhaustion traps.
Unrelenting
Coup
Mindbreaker
Blood Echo
Then just find a lobby with 4 Davids.
Bonus points if you lose your ######### and throw your mouse accross your desk if they ever do deadhard.
-
Unpopular opinion but I kinda liked last years event. After BHVR went on their whole "were sorry please no more hate take free stuff" thing. I really hope we get another thing like the last addon but maybe just a little bit more ya know functional with so many of the killers. The concept of universal addons is really cool I just feel it could have been executed better.

The differences you list are laughable. They're still incredibly comparable. It's like saying "oh you can't compare dark souls to bloodborne because one doesn't have shields." Of course you can. Everything you listed are examples of similar games. Yes, they have differences, that's why we can compare them.
Which is a better detective series, Sherlock Holmes or Poirot? Oh well you can't compare them because Poirot has a moustache!
TF2 is wildly different. How can you compare a hat collecting simulator to Overwatch and Paladins.
-
Alts exist. No matter how many times BHVR bans hackers they will just swap to another account. What they need is an actual anticheat.
-
@TicTac said:
Hatch escapes should certainly count less. But i think it doesnt matter how you escape right now. It would be great if there was an incentive to help teammates escape, but i have no idea how they would implement that.
Measuring chase is really hard. Time divided by pallets doesnt work without giving every pallet a value. Sometimes its even a good idea to play it safe and drop pallets. And there are many other things, you need to consider.
Shouldnt a key raise the mmr? If people bring strong items, they need to play against stronger player to have a fair match.
I agree time divided by pallets used isnt a great metric but its better than just time or having chase not play into MMR at all. It is just the simplest way of doing it. I think youre right and assigning a value to each pallet but that seems a lot less likely for the devs to do and even if they do it to excecute it well.
-
@th3 said:
Should camping a person to death result in a lower score for the killers mmr?
Well it does. If you facecamp you will probably get a 1k or 2k at best. Compared to getting a 4k or 3k you will get lower mmr.

IW is my favorite survivor perk due to its stealth potential and I heavily dislike how it's basically a chase perk now. I think IW being 100% while walking and crouching and 50% while running would be fine imo.
Crouching sure but walking should be like 75% maybe

"Ghostface now moves 5% faster while crouch-leaning. Stalk meter requires 50% more stalk (does not stack)
Survivors now need 200% more stalk to become marked. You can no longer stalk without leaning. Bloodpoints in the deviousness category is increased by 100%.

@Brokenbones said:
Hillbilly mains are probably excited
His addons are rock bottom, so how could they possibly make them worse?
Doom engravings now need a gen to be at over 70% to give the speedboost but the charge time is permananet.

I think visually it would have to be legion. Power wise probably GF. Its myers but it works on 1 person.
-
Oh would you rather stalk speed while crouching and leaning at the same time?
-
Recovery addons will now be replaced with movement speed while leaning addons.

It's no different than running any of the meta survivor perks, or even all of them. Anything you can do to live or get more points without dying
Welp I see why you would want a throwaway saying things like that. It is much much different. You dont hurt your team by running meta perks and even full meta build is more fun and fair than a key.

This happened to me last night, I was playing trapper on badham, a meg who didn't do anything rescued the survivor in front of the hatch, she left as I was walking to close the hatch, the survivor was quentin, we both stared at each other, I felt horrible because that has happened to me and let him go.
yep I wrote this post immediatly after a game where a Nea did nothing but sandbagged her team killed Claud and the David that HARD carried the team was not hooked once even though I chased him like 3 times. I was gonna let the David go, then I thought about the 4th BBQ stack then I realised too late... I dont have BBQ unlocked on Billy yet.

How often do you see those Perks? Survivors only get "fun" Perks like Head On or Blast Mine, but not really Perks that may become Meta. I guess you can play 100 games and check the Perks of the Survivors. I bet, all of those you mentioned combined will be less than one of the Meta-Perks (lets say Unbreakable, which is probably the least used Meta-Perk).
Yeah that is the Meta so people run it. Like do the exact same with killers. Undying would be the most recent probably and that is now coming up on a year old and imo is pretty overrated. The meta is rarely shifted for either side. I run fun perks because well they are fun most people run perks to win. "Given the oppurtunity players will optimise the fun out of a game". Im not saying you shouldnt use those perks Im just saying it isnt entirely BHVRs fault when people are given the option but choose the old perks. Like R6 added map bans a long requested feature and it has made it a pain in the ass to play any new maps because everyone just sticks to the old perks they are comfortable with. Personally those old perks need nerfs so people will actually consider using the new good perks. Like if UB gets nerfed we would probably see more WGLF or SG. Dead Heard gets nerfed probably SB or Lithe would take its place. DS got nerfed and BT has overtaken it. Iron Will gets nerfed(which should happen imo now spirit is getting nerfed.) suddenly other perks like off the record become used. A lot of the blame for repetive builds falls on BHVR but not all of it. Also it isnt BHVRs fault for not making new best perks because thats how power creep happens its their fault for letting the best perks be the best perks for so long.

For me its the constant refreshing after the notes are dropped just waiting for the from page to be GOODBYE DBD, DEVS SUCK, STUPID BHVR, QUITING DEAD BY DAYLIGHT, NO REASON TO PLAY ANYMORE.

It would have to make sense right? Someone from the past wouldn't know what a generator is and be able to repair one. I think modern survivors are fine
Why does a music producer know how to repair an generator that is a different model to any real world one. DBDs lore doesnt make much sense. There is a space spider interdimensional god that almost got beat twice by regular people.

Most hackers in this game aren't really trying to win either, they just want to mess with people
Exactly and the closer you are to the starting MMR the more hackers you will face simply because thats where their new account will be at.

There's no way you expect a survivor from ancient Egypt to comprehend the concept of a generator. Let alone understand how a flashlight works.
I mean many survivors wouldnt have a clue how to fix a generator. Im pretty sure that the entity helps people fix them.

They don't interact with generators or items themselves. They just damage gens but any animal could do this.
considering the ease of skillchecks I think an animal could repair gens.
EDIT: Not an insult to survivors. Just yeah skillchecks are easy.

This is DBD. Every Patch Killers claim that one Survivor Perk will be OP, and it never was. Survivors did not have good Perks since David was released, this will not change with Boon-Totems.
And even if, they can complain once they are live. But it is just silly to complain about something which is not even released at all.
Pre nerf mom? Deliverence? Soul Guard? Inner Strenght? Counterforce(it is a good perk imo)? Resurgence? Built to last? Desprate measures? Windows Of Oppurtunity? Aftercare?
Just because a perk isnt the best of the best doesnt mean its not a good perk. Like then have killers not had good perks since Plague? No there has been plenty of good perks and fun perks just because they arent the very best perks doesnt mean they arent good perks. A perk can be good without being the best. If anything that a perk has remained the best for several years it shows that it needs a nerf.
-
@Pulsar said:
Yeah, Survivors need a second objective.
However, Boon Totems could be "All Gens repair themselves at 50% speed until this totem is cleansed" and it could also just as likely be "Survivors aura-reading range is extended by 2 meters until this totem is cleansed."
Yep its BHVR so Im guessing gamebreaking like old undying or near useless like scourge hook: gift of pain. It will be something dumb like you gain a permanent endurance effect that refreshes when healed while there totem is standing or it will be something like while the killer is breaking a pallet within 16m the aura of the nearest survivor is show.
-
@Dr_Loomis said:
I had an idea about that, in which it could be one of the perks for the Creeper from Jeepers Creepers.
Well personally I dont think that lisence should ever come to DBD.
-
I feel the issue kind of is a lot of lisenced killers are male. Myers, Nemesis, Pinhead, Bubba like what are you gonna do genderswap them? Once you omit lisences its 9/6(Im counting Twins. The main character is female. Its like saying billy isnt male because his saw isnt any gender.) still probably need more female killers to even it out but as for the killers BHVR had control over their gender its 3:2 and actually if you dont count the OG 3 they are even at 1:1.
