Should/does hatch effect MMR as much as escaping through the gate.
I really dont think it should. Im not even sure if a hatch escape should raise your MMR at all. It is considerably less skillful to get hatch via key or via last person alive. Like I had a game with a Dwight that hid in lockers all game and ended up having hatch spawn right next to his locker. Like how is he considered a better player than the Kate that dodged all of my chainsaws and I only caught in the end because her team burnt every pallet on the map. Like they said its not just kills/escapes but I dont know why they wouldnt at least say like its kills/escapes/gens/chases, I know they dont want people abusing the system but people can still get a low mmr by just afking or a high one by just bringing a key or ring amulet spirit every match. I feel we should get to know more about MMR because if it is just kills and escapes then it seems really really off and the fact that I normally get 1 or 2 super stealthy players with prove and stacked toolboxes that will go down instantly along people who are actually good at looping makes me think that everything is just kills and escapes because the prove toolbox stealthy survivors are gonna get hatch or get all gens done fast enough to escape nearly every game even though they get hard carried by the competent loopers on their team and end up getting hatch.
WOOO BONUS RANT ON MMR!!!!!!!!
Like just because someone escapes doesnt mean they are good and the flip is also true if you hard tunnel with ring amulet spirit you arent as good of a player as someone who gets a 3k most games as perkless legion or whatever youre killer is better than their killer but you arent better than them. Personally survivor MMR should be mostly chase time divided by pallets used because having a 2 minute chase but emptying the map of all pallets isnt really being good either and perks/item/addons should also play a role maybe equiping a key is a -10% mmr penalty or something. Simalarly I think since all killers have their MMR split anyway they should also be adjusted for their perks/power/addons.

Hatch escapes should certainly count less. But i think it doesnt matter how you escape right now. It would be great if there was an incentive to help teammates escape, but i have no idea how they would implement that.
Measuring chase is really hard. Time divided by pallets doesnt work without giving every pallet a value. Sometimes its even a good idea to play it safe and drop pallets. And there are many other things, you need to consider.
Shouldnt a key raise the mmr? If people bring strong items, they need to play against stronger player to have a fair match.
Context for everything should matter.
Does it? From what we know, no, context is not taken into account.
Should camping a person to death result in a lower score for the killers mmr?
Well it does. If you facecamp you will probably get a 1k or 2k at best. Compared to getting a 4k or 3k you will get lower mmr.
I agree time divided by pallets used isnt a great metric but its better than just time or having chase not play into MMR at all. It is just the simplest way of doing it. I think youre right and assigning a value to each pallet but that seems a lot less likely for the devs to do and even if they do it to excecute it well.
Yh it would be a lot of work and i dont know whether the devs know what pallet is strong or not. Then some pallets are useless against specific killer. This system would be really difficult to implement.
You cant create a perfect MMR without an unreasonable amount of context. Like you would need killer, killers perks, gen progress, pallet strength, amount of pallets or windows nearby, did you get a stun, does the killer break the pallet, killer addons, your perks, your item and addons, the map, how rng spawned pallets, where other survivors are, what other survivors are doing etc etc. To calculate how strong a pallet is you would literally need the entire match.
