The DC penalties ARE ACTIVE, have been for a couple days now.
but they were not while the MMR system has been "Gathering data but not taking over matchmaking responsibilities" or what ever the exact wording was.

If you knew the reports werent just thrown in the trash that would help.
but you do not know the reports are thrown into the trash. but how about this: I have received personable (not just automated) responses to my reports so I know they are not throwing them into the trash. your pessimism is at fault here you do you but stop saying they aren't doing anything when they are doing things. just because you don't get to hear X is banned, doesn't mean they aren't. ALSO unlike VALVE's banning system, they would have to contact valve to get them banned through steam.

I do in the worst cases but it’s a lot of effort for me to record a video, upload to youtube which takes forever, find their steam64 IDs, submit reports in game, log into the website, submit a longer report online, just to be told “we’ll look into it” and never know if anything was actually done.
When it was once every few months it wasnt so bad but its much more common now and they should streamline the reporting process.
then you can't complain if you do not report the incidents. i know how hard it is to get a recording. but you can atleast try to alert them but you have decided some of it is acceptable when you do not report them
-
good, I hope it is fixed for you soon.

DC penalties are back is that what you mean?
i don't understand? currently they are not active and dcing is rampant again, and how is that going to affect the mmr right now? it's been collecting data, but the problem is these dc gives false information to the mmr system, a dc is not good or bad, and should not be considered but no one knows because they are being secretive about it and thus i am assuming that a dc will increase the mmr rating. and that's the problem with being secretive about this, it could literally not exist but we can't prove that it does.

@Freki LOL I watch plenty of streams and it's a very common thing, seen it on 3 streams myself so if it's happening on stream that often for me to see, it must be happening a lot more for other people ! :)
I've seen reports filed on stream too luv so behave yourself with the same repetitiveness - hacking is obviously a problem
so you've seen it on 3 streams... and there are more than 60K players and you are saying it's COMMON? no you are seeing a microcosm and not the whole. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but how many of those 3 streams do you see them actually taking the time to report them? I doubt any of them.... that is the problem, the inaction of those that see it with proof very rarely report it.
-
@claudetterealness said:
@Freki LOL never did I say they watch streams 24.7, I said that if it's SO apparent that hacking is happening even to an audience of 3k+ and it's consistently the same hacker, which has obviously been reported, yet it still continues to happen - they're obviously not doing very much to stop it :)
you'd think there'd be a sense of emergency to reduce it when it's so common on PC, I play console so thankfully I don't have that issue just 3232 different issues instead ! unless people can hack on console I don't know
you implied that they should be, becuase you're talking about one stream, and you know what? i have only TWICE that I know of in 2 years of playing encountered actual hackers. and both times i reported them to the best of my ability. if no one reports them they can keep doing it because no one knows about these hacks. you also said "which has obviously been reported" how have they obviously been reported before? did you see the report? did you see someone fill out the form to report it? or just taking someone at their word that they did report it?
tell me how common it is on pc please? I gave you my encounters with hacking and in 2 years i had 2 people use hacking tools to win. I once found a hack site and I reported that site through the ticketing system too. but you know what? it's not as common as you say, it may however be unlucky that TRU gets so many that are hackers, but you know what? he is one person not the thousands that play the game who don't see the hacking either thus it is not common.

Survivors should not be forced to participate in a match where the killer refuses to play the game.
Since survivors cannot disconnect from the game without consequences when a killer decides not to play the game but rather farms points without the intent of killing or slug survivors repeatedly without the intent of killing them, or AFK with the purpose of de-ranking, they should be able to discourage this type of behavior by making it bannable.
if you are being FORCED to farm, this is a banable. you need to report this to them using the ticket system. if you want to disconnect to do so that's fine but realize that too is against the rules of the game and there are penalties. If the killer is farming, just go do gens, if they continue to stop you from doing this then the are forcing the farm thus they can be banned for it.
The problem is that the PLAYERS do not wish to do what is necessary to report these incidents. I had a survivor go afk in the middle of the match, now i don't know if it was something they always do but some times there are times where you have to just leave the computer because there is something more important to do like take your kid to the hospital, etc. everything you say is 100% on both sides as well, so you know what? if the killer is farming just do gens and get out, they can't force you to do anything but if they continually interrupt you then you know what? if they slug you hold the shift key and move around no one can heal you with the shift key, and bleed out. then after that report them. or dc, accept the penalty then REPORT them. the key is REPORTING THEM!

@Freki it's all fun and games saying this but if you watch TRU3 he has had a hacker that has literally been getting into his lobbies time and time again, with clear evidence because it's on stream however it still kept happening - the only way for him to stop it was to hide the lobby
this said hacker has used many racial slurs but the problem was clearly not fixed
so the devs watch every stream, every second of every dbd stream??? no they don't. you have to submit a ticket and TRU does not do that, though he has a bit easier time the the general person being a fog whisperer. STILL there has to be something done and when it is found. I report everyone that use racial slurs and i submit the second report to. just clicking the thumbs up and thumbs down doesn't do it, a support ticket must be set up to flag the rating for them to act. Fog whispers have a different route to go but again they would have to take one of the two routes and i know tru doesn't take the one everyone has.

Heres the way I see it....
Do more to stop trolls and hackers, and I’ll never complain about dc penalties again.
I just dont want to stay in the game when some idiot sandbags me as survivor just because he finds it funny. I dont mean a 5 second sandbag I mean sandbag until the killer arrives, and then try to sandbag at pallets.
These people have been infesting the game recently and nothing is done against them or the mechanics which allow it.
did you get evidence of their hacking and submit it via the ticket system? if you did great! it will be reviewed, if you didn't then how are they going to know exactly what match, exactly what time in the match to look at? hell how are they going to know it happened? this is the problem most people dont' realize that they can not SEE what you see after the fact, but the data can support what they see in general but you have to know what to look for in the data to see what happened and how and then they can act.

All i have to say is that since disconnects have been rampant, mmr is going to be skewed. very skewed and with no word on when they will come back it's just going to get worse and worse.

did you ever think that you should submit a ticket? this is a bug and they will probably want your log and to look into this, posting HERE will only delay them in seeing and working on your post. it's kinda a funny bug.... and wow that was 438,222 blood points in one match? but the numbers don't add up in the upper right hand corner, the total in the points screen with your 18K.... though the 438K seems to probably be the right amount you should have. I'd suggest that you submit that ticket and get it fixed.

Ok if you disconnect for any reason that is outside of the game rules you incur a penalty. to disconnect because you are not having fun in a game is not a reason to disconnect. because people have decided that if you get camped, or a killer is camping another survivor, or they nodded at you, or shook their head at you or they slugged you, or they tunneled you or what ever damn reason you disconnect intentionally you are breaking the rules. if you do not like the game play get on a hook and do not struggle. This action avoids loss of points and emblems to that point as well as avoidance of penalties. This is usually very easy to do and takes VERY little time.
The reason the disconnect (leave match) option was given to you is because the devs realized that there might be something that is not planned that causes the game to not end. if you are stuck in the geometry, if you are stuck spectating the killer after being hooked then that is why it was there. since people abused this to the point that the devs put in an automated system to monitor for disconnects they had to apply it to any disconnect what so ever as the automated system will never be able to know if someone pulled a cable from their network or shut down networking on their computer to drop connection from someone that is lost because of their ISP dropping the network etc. it takes a trained eye to see how the data is lost and when it is lost and it is different in every case.
Do not think you are above the RULES of the game. if you can not abide by the RULES of the game you should be penalized for it. Honestly I would actually say the penalties that were in play before were too lenient. This is the fault of the people that abused this functionality and not the fault of the killer, or the survivor. This is another thing, Killers disconnecting for any reason other than that they are bugged and can not complete the game even with EGC then it is understandable to dc just as the survivors. Now since the abuse you have to take your lumps, if you get a 6 hour penalty on your 6th dc (don't know the exact time it is and how many dc's) and you dc'd because of being slugged, camped, didn't like the killer, didn't like the map, got angry that someone got a chest before you (5 instances) and suddenly you have a game breaking bug I don't care because you made your bed and it is time to lay in that bed. I will say the first time sure make it light but don't keep it light after the first TWO at most.
I also think it would be great for the devs to review the number of disconnects and if there is an unspecified number of disconnects (large enough to not catch people who are only dc'ing because of network issues etc) that you get a soft ban (say 3 days or a week) and then if it keeps up then a hard ban of permanent how ever many times is decided that the soft ban was applied to warrant thins. one thought is if you have the large soft ban then your account is reset and a marker is placed to note that you were soft banned and hot many times. Also if you do have internet that is a potato, perhaps you can get a dispensation that the devs will really review how many disconnects and why they happened. just thoughts.
you will never convince me that disconnecting is warranted without penalty should be back. ah well i'm going to be yelled at here, called names and what not I do not care!

you know what? survivors can get out of a match without penalty by dying on hook intentionally (within game parameters so not punishable) but killers have no way to give up and take their few points with them. so what you are saying is idiotic and silly. I'm sorry you're upset but you know what? when you end up punishing someone for things others can do people will stop playing. atleast the dc penalties were applied if ANYTHING disconnects them (since the automatic system can't really do more and be discerning).

I just realized something. the top tier players will play one of a few killers and they will get high mmr's with them, and then though they aren't good with some others they are still GOOD killers, that should be taken into account. ALSO Survivor A gets really good with say the ONI, but not a nurse. how will the game decide to match them? will they be seeing more ONI's than anything else? this is something I just thought of.
thought not specifically about a mmr reset but it's something to think about

Buddy I don't know how else to word it. If nearly every forum thread is about this bad update, then you can very safely assume that the majority of players who can't be bothered to voice their opinions think the same. It's basic statistics. The forums are a large enough sample size to assume this was a bad update. They are representative of the silent majority.
no you can not safely assume that, this is where you are wrong. period end of statement.

You are something else. You realise what is said on the forums by the majority of people, typically represents what the in-game players think as well? They all experience the same game as we do. You are blinded by your own ignorance to not see this update as an issue.
MY IGNORANCE? What I have said is that the FORUMS are a MINORITY and a small one at that of the people that play this game. I did not say there were no problems, but when a majority of a minority that say something that does not mean that is 1) True, 2) an issue that MUST be addressed that second, and 3) anything meaningful what so ever.
when there are people making smurf accounts to try and get their message out, and just like this one complaining with no real suggestions other than FIX THIS CRAP it is not always seen, though the devs say they read these posts and I believe them and that they will do what they can. You attack me, yet I do not attack you. I only attack your wording, you assume the majority (and damn near everyone that plays this game) has the same words as YOU! this is not true and that is what I have said. you posted a picture edited together of 38 posts, I counted them assuming they were posted by separate people, and found that the percentage of people you showed of the 60,000 known users was less than one thousandth of a percent! how is that 99% of the 60000 you say which is 59,450 people??? it isn't. you attack without hard facts when i present hard facts you won't accept them. this is what ignorance really is, and most everyone will say that the people on game message boards are a very small fraction of the people that play the game. get over yourself and stop attacking my character and find a way to prove your assertion that over 59K people have the same opinion as you.

Yeah I don't understand this either I've been playing DBD for a few years now and have never had any issue with the previous auras, nor have I ever seen anyone else complain about it.. if anything the only complaint I ever seen before is that even the previous version was too difficult to see sometimes, specifically on totems.
this happened a few patches back where the auras were like this and it was fixed once they identified the issue.
-
@SloppyKnockout said:
I know it's not typical of BHVR to do hotfixes, but the aura issue really needs a hotfix. It absolutely decapitates the experience for colorblind players, ESPECIALLY colorblind killers. This isn't something that can wait until the next patch, or even 6 patches from now or however it will take for the sound bugs to finally be fixed. It's a game breaker.
Can you guys look into this?
the Aura issue is known, and they generally have two hot fixes after the major patches (chapter and midchapter) one week later and then the next week after that. and will do hot fixes after if it really is game breaking. it's been said they know about the auras and it has been stated not only do they know of the issue but ALSO even before this they have been working on a completely new aura system as well.

How can you honestly say I don't speak for the majority? Everyone is mad at this update. You're completely oblivious to what is happening if you think what I am saying is objectively incorrect.
lol this forum is populated by less people than play on the PTB! you couldn't get matches on the forums! lol and the PTB has so few players there has been no match making what so ever on it ever. this is the minority of users, not even close to 1/2 the users plus many times there are smurf accounts that post with 1 post just because people want to post their views multiple times to make it seem like it's more than just them. (I however am not saying this about you, just talking in general) how can you extrapolate 38 posts to equate to 99% of the game's users? lol it's not even close. if each of these posts is by an actual user and not a smurf account, 38/60,000 = less than a ten thousanth (6.43(repeating)e-4) percent. now do you see what i mean? you're not even within a hundredth of a percent and that's using the average of one of the days in the last two weeks (don't remember the exact day)

@calem said:

I don't where you've been the last couple of patches, but I can confidently say 99% of people disagree with the Billy changes, hate the Midwich map, and think similar things to the points I've mentioned in this thread. You know what the Billy change has done for players? It punishes being inexperienced with him. Sure, experienced Billy players won't feel too much of a difference, but this whole rework is just a deterrent to learn how to play Billy. It's on the same calibre as the Nurse change.
Plus, please don't assume I am whipping out these points because I heard streamers talk about it. That's the go to counter-point anyone like you uses whenever you don't want your BHVR Gods to be called out on. "Omg, this guy is just spurts out any random ######### his favourite streamer says!". You sound like you're content with BHVR making ######### updates and ruining any amount of fun that could be had in DBD. Plus, from what I've seen, most streamers also are against the Billy changes and think it's stupid. All anyone ever had an issue with was instasaw Billy, so what should have been changed? His base-kit? What a joke.
To even say "the devs listen to the WHOLE community" is objectively false. People have wanted keys and mori changes for a long time. People have wanted Spirit changes for a long time. When they announced the Billy changes on the PTB, 99% of people said not to do it, and just change his add-ons. But did they listen? No, they didn't. They didn't even listen to us when it was on the PTB, which is the whole ######### point of putting it on there. They may as well have put it on live servers last patch without any feedback since nothing changed.
first of all i said more than just streamers. I used more words than that. you know what more than 54,450 people (dropped 5000 from the average of 60K I saw playing the other night and then figured 99% of 55,000) think... you have polled that many people in the span of how many weeks? where is your 99% coming from? stop throwing up big numbers. now if you said I don't think that many of the players like this it's easily accepted that you may have talked to a few hundred people directly and maybe a few hundred more here in this forum etc. to be honest your whole way of speaking in your post is pedantic and haughty.
However you are right, I did misspeak when I said WHOLE.. I meant to say something different so for that I do apologize for the characterization, I should have said "The devs listen to the WHOLE of the community that gives them feedback." that is not 100% or even 99% of the players of the game. Just because they LISTEN to them does not mean they will do something or that they will not do something. Listening means they take the information and mull it over and decide if it has merit with how they wish the game to go. They know not everyone is going to be happy with changes but they have to decide what is the best course of action and it may not be what you or your many people that didn't want to happen.
good bye, you have pushed yourself from belivability to absurdity.

I have a couple things to say about the new update. First of all, nobody asked for the hillbilly rework. He was fine as is, and now he has bad music and screams when he runs. The overheating is pretty unnecessary also. I don’t have leather face, but I hear that he is way to complicated now. Finally, out of all things, my biggest complaint is THE AURAS! I saw a post that said that they weren’t that bad on his gaming computer, well they are terrible on my xbox one s. Killers and survivors can’t see anything. Literally nobody asked for less aura strength. I can’t see anything now. This whole update just needs to be thrown out and reworked.
first AURAS: they are working on it, they know they did not come through right and are working on that so that was unintended and also reworking the aura system altogether. So that is already being dealt with.
second billy: people were begging for him to be reworked, some wanted everything, some wanted add-ons so you are incorrect that no one wanted the changes.
third mechanics: things CHANGE this game is evolving. what worked 3 years ago, doesn't always work after several expansions and additions that affect the 3 year old content without mechanic changes. this is part of the evolution of a game.
YES, this is your opinion and you're expressing it, but don't assume you know what EVERYONE wants, or even the majority unless you can say you know the amount of people that play this game.

@calem said:
Honestly, this mid chapter update has been the straw that's broken my back. These developers do not listen to anything their players say, and it shows immensely in every single one of these ######### updates they are making.
Let's talk about all the ######### changes that have been made this patch:
- NO ONE wanted Billy changes. What we wanted was ADD-ON changes. Nerf instasaw, that's all ANYONE was saying.
- His chase music is weird and unfitting. Sure, I don't think it sounds that bad by itself, but it doesn't suit Billy. He's one of the original killers, so shouldn't he have original chase music?
- Changes to perks that did NOT need changing. Franklin's was fine as is. Knock Out, albeit kind of weak, was still fine as it was and served its purpose. Now it only applies on BASIC attacks? You guys know this is a LEATHERFACE perk right? What's the ######### point of using it if his power can't apply it? This time would have been better spent buffing the other 60 garbage perks in this game (which takes literally 5 seconds to change and experiment with)
- Subjective thing, but Billy's weird scream thing he does is weird. Some people like it, I personally don't.
- Some add-ons that make me question whether the devs have actually played this game. Because I definitely want to use Mother's Helpings :)))
- The new auras are terrible and hard to see from distance (which is kinda the whole point of them).
The only thing good to come out of this update is Bubba getting deservedly buffed. But the Silent Hill patch also made me angry about some things.
- Midwich is a terrible, TERRIBLE map for both sides. I don't understand the design philosophy that went in to making this map. The pallets, bar 2/3, are all unsafe and not worth using, much like Hawkin's. Plus, this map is just a 'hold W simulator', unless you're playing Nurse (but nobody really does anymore). Getting up and down floors is also a huge waste of time.
- The new legendary cosmetics that are super expensive but we can't customise for whatever reason. I'm guessing out of laziness? Nobody really cares if it looks kinda #########, the whole point of cosmetics is for us to buy them and then use them however we want, not however BHVR wants.
And just things in general:
- Why are we nerfing Billy but killers like Spirit still exist? It was even stated that you guys are HAPPY WITH HOW BILLY WAS PERFORMING, and then you add an overheat mechanic to his chainsaw. It makes no sense. Why don't we spend some time trying to make Spirit fun and interactive to play against? I don't know a single person except biased Spirit mains who don't want her changed or reworked.
- Most of the maps favour survivors heavily. Except for like Hawkin's, The Game, and arguably Lery's and Midwich, I think maps are too survivor-sided. But this all depends on what killer you're playing and the skill of the survivors. But I think the extremely bad maps should be changed (looking at Ormond and Haddonfield). And this is coming from someone who plays both sides pretty equally.
- Quick edit: I somehow forgot the bullshit that are Ebony Moris and keys. Everyone hates them, so just change/remove them :)
Overall, I'm pissed. I don't know how else to word it. We are getting killer changes we didn't want, problematic things are staying problematic, changes to perks that were fine and didn't need changing (while all other garbage perks are left to stay garbage), terrible map design, restrictive cosmetics, really questionable add-on changes, and things that make no sense like the aura changes. Until BHVR starts listening, I don't think I can support this game any longer. They've shown they don't care what their players have to say, so why should I play their game?
well you certainly think HIGHLY of yourself, to know what over 60,000 people were saying. just because it's said on the forum doesn't mean it's the majority of the people, on the contrary the majority of the people DO not get on the forums, and that's even a fraction of who get on the PTS. Just because you and a few friends hear a few streamers talking abut things doesn't mean that the 1000's of streamers and 10's of thousands of people that play the game are thinking the same. You may have some valid points, but what about valid counter points? the DEVs listen to the WHOLE of the community, sifting through crap like your yelling (again with valid points) to find those valid points and that gets passed on to the right team. IF you don't like it, leave. I don't care how much money you've spent in this game, if you're that bent you shouldn't play, find something else you can put your time in and it doesn't bend you. honestly you don't believe the devs listen, why give them the ratings, the plays and the attention when it so bends you. Good luck, i believe you will need it.

THis explains why when I see an offering of 100% bonus on brutality I quiver a bit. It seems some always DC's when that offering is up. Ahhh - it's all coming together.
I think it will be sorted eventually. Not sure quite how yet.
there are 4 scoring categories for survivor and for killer, each have the 50/75/100 extra for one category and then a 25% across ALL 4 as well as a 100% for all. but it's nothing more than getting points based on those categories :) if you have any questions please ask, if i see the question i'll do my best to answer to my best ability but I am not a dev, just a guy that has played a while and looks at how things are done in general to be able to work in the enviroment :) feel free to pm me if you'd rather keep it quiet @MaybeShesCrazy :)

DC's should be based on downed or not I would think. If you smacked them and they were down, it should count as a hook.
Maybe that will get sorted at some time.

Was that a typo or....
'cause that's a lot of points! 😮
thing is i don't know if this has been thought about now and that concerns me.. i don't think that a dc should count as anything but points into sacrifice. it removes a player from the game. but outside of points the mmr system probably will not handle dc's properly since we have no information on this. i still have issues with the fact that there are shadow fixes being put out there so it makes me question if the fix was truly there.
also 32,000 points is the max you can get in any dbd game (8K per category, 4 categories). so 31,950 is within the bounds of reality. :)

So here they are. Personally I think they look alright.
every time they change something that has auras, for what ever reason they look like this. something is not right it's been like this before and fixed as well.

They can change addons and perks still. So the contention that "the Killer can't do anything about it now" is incorrect.
Allowing Killer swaps will make per-Killer MMR impossible, and we need that feature.
no one is asking for the killer swaps, most people are not upset at that, but they are upset that the survivors can make changes last second and the killer can't react. honestly I'm tired of people that do this myself, why not make it so that instead of having a secondary lobby just put matches right into it. just like in the custom game, get rid of that middle step, there is no reason anymore to have it. only thing that I'd say would be missed is having time to memorize what people are there to find the obsession. For me it's not that big of an issue. let survivors select their builds before clicking ready just like killers. it's only fair and no one has any chance to use any cheats to know who it is until the begining of the match.
-
there you said it already.... use the perk kindred.... no need to give it to all survivors, or even solo survivors, it's in everyone's blood web! why? it's a general perk! I don't care if it messes with your precious perk build..... use the damn perk if it's that useful... want to know something? I don't use it and I know more about the field than you do with kindred. I keep track of where people are, what gens are being worked on, if the hook is near or far from me, where the killer is... oh yea heart beat! oh yea! but I've been accused of being in a SWF with people just because I synergize with the other survivors! stop looking for a leg up and JUMP UP to take your place in your match! know your surroundings, know how to counter things pay attention. instead people want to take it easy and get kindred or deerstalker (for the intermittent sound bug) or what ever other perk there is added to the base kit so that you don't have to use it.
-
Ok first of all, you say that it should be light because good people DC to circumstances out of their control. That is true, but the people that abused the ability to do so intentionally by the command screen or by messing with their network etc caused it to be needed for EVERYONE who dc's to get a penalty. I'm tired of hearing idiotic statements like "it's my RIGHT to DC!" "Show me the rules where it says DC! that? it's not there!" (yet it's in black and white). all of these is part of an entitled mindset that your "FUN" is more important than others. I do not disconnect randomly a good deal like I've known others that do, but you know what? I accept any penalty I might still have if I get disconnected out of my control.
Another thing, if you get a random disconnect and have disconnected intentionally 2-3 or MORE times before that within the alloted time frame for them to slide off your record, you deserve what ever penalty you get! here is why: You decided to dc the first time because you were slugged (click GONE), the second time you decided to DC because you didn't like the killer, the third time you didn't like that you got tunneled.... each time more and more and say you just had a 30 minute time out for deciding that you didn't want to play on haddonfield now suddenly your internet goes out and comes back due to a power surge that causes your power to blink off then back on, now you've disconnected and omg you have another 55 minutes of penalty... WOE IS YOU! you are here to complain... this is of your OWN making, if you don't like it, get hooked, try to escape (and fail) and don't struggle. you'll not get a penalty and you won't have to wait for your penalty to wear off before the next match.
This message is both survivor AND killer oriented as it doesn't matter the side. (Though I feel for the killer since there is no quick "death" because there is no way to give up and there should be). but I don't care if you as killer hate ormond, or haddonfield! or what ever reason, if you DC you get penalized as it is IN THE RULES. AND if you don't like someone innocent might get penalized, remember it was YOUR abuse of this that caused them to be affected so.

I play survivor in the day and killer at night with short queues, it is VERY rare for someone to DC for hatch
but nice attempt to discredit me

Please direct me to where I stated it shouldn't be fixed, seriously, the amount of straw-manning on these forums is annoying. I'm simply more concerned with the MMR system and am worried for how bad it could be, I would rather them fix the mountain of bugs first, I would prefer if they reworked some of the God-awful maps.
I don't care if someone DCs for their friend to get Hatch, i consider it a win and forget about 2min later when I'm in queue
so is a DC a good mmr raising point or a bad mmr lowering point for the killer? DC's can exploit the mmr system more than a clear text log on everyone's pc that has the clothing of the killer which is not shared with any other killer (or the clear text of the killer's ID #!). I'd rather face a group of survivors prepped with calm spirit and iron will 3 than people that will DC and make a mockery of the mmr system. what's the next DC TECH? "How to make a killer face harder opponents and allow you to face easier killers at the same time!" (yes same goes for KILLER DC's and it's even worse there because that affects 4 people). You know what? I'd rather them take the option to DC out 100% and solve this issue, and say any disconnect results in a 24 hour time out no matter the reason, consecutive dc's in an unspecified time will increase the time by doubling it each time. This was instituted because of the abuse of the disconnect option in place to prevent matches from going on forever due to a bug.

BTW killer still gets the points if they DC. I know it's not fun for you all though. That's sometihng?
ok 1000 points for a hook, 200 per stage including sacrifice and a dc gives the killer 625 or 675 points only... also hooking goes into the sacrifice point score category, the dc benefit goes into brutality and if the brutality was maxed out it's worthless. yea that's something... great thinking.

DbD already had a penalty on par with the other games you listed, you Depipped and Lost all your points for the match. And that is a fine penalty that is similar to other multi-player games. I play overwatch and can leave whenever I want without being forced to quit for the night because I can't log in for 6 hours. This penalty sytem is ridiculous and way over the top as far as time.
depping is a penalty? it is a reward! they do it TO depip because they don't have to face people in the game their rank. that is why people were dc'ing... first 4 pips... wow I could clear a whole rank in one shot! then 2 meh it's ok still get there faster now it's 1. and still people are doing in droves. played 6 games today... SIX... five of them had a dc in them. I played a killer, didn't tunnel, didn't camp, didn't body block for more than a quick swing (more than survivors can say when ganging up to prevent a hook). hell in 3 of the games I didn't even get a kill because i didn't care to even try I was being generous till they dc'd then I decided screw it.. got 3 freddy 4k's at rank 18, one perk at rank 1 level 1 killer, no add on's no offerings. I guess you didn't research all the games some had stiffer penalties, hell dbd's is laughable... but atleast if it's a swf they are ALL penalized.
IT IS IN THE RULES. SO YOU WISH TO BREAK THE RULES INTENTIONALLY. YOU GET PENALIZED FOR BREAKING THE RULES. NOT REWARDED!
*EDIT because i realized i hit post before this thought* if you are disconnecting enough to get 6 hour penalties, you REALLY need to re-evaluate if you really want to play. DBD had no penalties and loss of 5-32K bloodpoints is nothing, even to survivors, and as stated above depiping rewards you by letting you play "EASIER" opponents. You know what? I hope that a DC with the MMR will increase your MMR for ALL killers thus making you face tougher opponents! That would be a great idea, ALONG with your 6 hour plus game time out. I am just glad I'm not someone you swf with because if that were the case i'd stop playing with you because I'm not going to stop playing just because you felt the killer was boring, or that they mori'd off of first hook or what ever LAME reason you come up with for that. I've seen rank 20's play better and they get trounced because they are just starting out and they don't dc but keep playing to get good at the game. you dc apparently at the whim of a feather on the wind, not someone I ever want to play with.
-
this again? just yesterday someone was whining about how deliverance was now a busted and broken perk because he was the last one in match and hooked. the perk is working as intended. IF it were to work, the killer would just stand by you (they loose no emblem progression) and if you get off, they will down you before you get very far. you are being whiny, and the fact you have to say you aren't means you are.

Spreads like a r20 killer with 1 (one) perk against 4 R1 survivors? Yeah no.
if they hadn't had any matches against that killer their mmr would match!
-
mmr does not use rank what so ever. so you can easily see spreads like this. you have to give up rank as a signifier of your capabilities

Gotcha. I thought he was talking about iridescent shards, at least that's what I was talking about. 🙂
yea no the ingame currency can not be used to purchase licensed content. and honestly at how slow you get iri shards 9000 per killer or survivor is not worth it, better to spend 7 bucks when you can. 18000 iri shards for a killer and survivor just is not worth it as to how many hours you have to play to get that many!

if this perk is good why i never pressured single round from this? because this perk is more conditional than thanatho and weaker too
a good perk in the right setting is great or in the wrong setting is awful. but per the write up it only buffs the obsession's alturistic actions not the other actions. if you don't think it's even "good" then don't use it.

@DrDeepwound that's been my experience as well. They typically catch on if I haven't messaged them directly. I feel bad for Freki. They seem to have the worst luck with this.

I have had survs know whats up.
I needed the locker grab one done, and basically downed a Jeff, stood near him hitting the locker. Picked him up, swiveled until he struggled off, hitting locker, he got in locker, I grabbed him and dropped him and let him get picked up as a thank you.
It happens.

I've done things like that plenty of times as a survivor main. Most of the time the killer will let you get away for helping them. It may be game on after that, but they show appreciation for the help at that moment.
9 times out of 10, unless my challenge is to kill X number of people i'll make it a game i don't just sit there the whole match kicking a gen, but i'll give chases, make it real but let people go and i get crapped on for doing it. but it's not one in a million, it's more than you realize that people will just take advantage of a situation. in the issue where i burned 10 bps' (all i had on the legion) normally people see that and see that i've only tried to deep wounds them they let it happen. one time i had all 4 at the exit gate just standing there, the moment i went into frenzy they left. just is a bit of a crap shoot on what kind of people you get in the game because some people are soooooo superior to you (sarcasm) that they will toy with you and not even help but this is why it's hard for some to be nice as killer because they get taken advantage of many times.
-
first of all it only buff's the obsession's ALTURISTIC aspects of unhooking and healing. it does affect the obsession in the other aspects, totems, chests, sabo and gens. also with nemesis or DS or furitive chase you can change the obsession. so technically without killing a single survivor you can get 8 stacks as the stacks don't disapear if they switch obsession some how. now, it's actually an ok perk, not the best but unlike what people say the perk as written is only buffed for healing, and that their hooks don't give you stacks.

Interesting. I know that they did change it to where you cannot use shards to purchase licensed characters anymore, but having a system in place where you could test out a killer, if even for one or two matches, would I think, incentivize gamers to spend more money. Because if they like what they see, then they'll be willing to make a beeline for the shop and buy that character.
I mean, there are characters in the main game that I haven't purchased yet, but that's only because I haven't been able to test them out. I don't have the means to get an online custom match going (not a big friends list), so my only saving grace is a potential training mode, otherwise I'll have to round up random people that would be willing to try custom matches with me. And the thought of having to do that because the game doesn't give me anything in the way of being able to try anything out by myself is rather mind-boggling.
shards were dropped because they were never used much and mainly avoided in the blood webs. they were never replaced either.

Typically If you want a specific challenge done you need to message one of them. I've never had a survivor refuse to help. Burning a anniversary cake or streamer helps as well.
I burned 10 Bloody party streamers to get the 4 deep wounds challenge in a row done, TEN where I did very little but frenzy and try to get the 4 in one run, i banged on gens, i didn't hook anyone so i got 6K each match, maybe 7, gotta love that they got 30-40K and i get 12K for 10 bps.... their over all responses? we just thought you were that bad. that's when i got pissed and slugged the next group and let them bleed out, then quit for the day.

Yeah interesting how there were no bug reports and people just want to complain instead of providing useful information to help fix the bug but uh, dbd community lol
oh I agree. I kept telling people to report and give them their logs so that the devs could look into it but it was too much work to submit a ticket for them to give the info needed. it's better to complain here in the general discussions, and now instead of months later we are almost 2 years past and there is a thread by the devs asking for the information. and still they complain and not read the forums.

This guy was an idiot. Most survivors are willing to help with a daily or just farm if you ask. When I needed to finish some Tome challenges I never had people refuse to help. Demanding is just begging for them to refuse.
As a side note did the killer burn any BP offerings?
i've rarely experienced anyone wanting to help me as killer to get a challenge done even though IF I KNOW what the challenge is i'll try and help a survivor. I come up on a gen and people scatter i start smacking the gen, i down the survivor TAKE them past several hooks and smack a gen while they wiggle off they don't want to... so my experience is my charity as a killer is unwanted. I shouldn't even try ah well. how ever i've found more killers willing to help survivors get their challenges done when they know what it is! interesting dichotomy eh?
