I always play solo survivor. No group coordination or dynamic that favour me. But when I decide to use the perk deliverance just in case, I cannot use it if all survivors have left the trial, as you know. Last week I managed to save other survivors so deliverance was ready to be used. We all reached the endgame collapse and two survivors left. When I was near the exit, Spirit downed me. A Nea was nearby with her flashlight and acting entitled. Spirit saw her and injured so she ran to the exit. I only needed that she hid somewhere waiting so if Spirit hooked me I could unhook myself using the perk. Instead, she left too and I died miserably. I was so pissed. I know when all survivors are hooked and there is no chance to escape, the entity kills you immediately. But in this case, I had %100 chance of escaping (as the perk describes) and I died anyways. How this could be a fair perk?
hate to tell you this, but this has been the way it has worked since before adam came out. as soon as you're the last one on the map and then hooked, even at first hook, you get sac'd. deliverance is adam's teachable, so obviously you found value in the perk before now, how when there was no change in that aspect of the game that it is worthless now? come on.... the only change is that IF all remaining survivors are in the second stage of being hooked, all are sac'd to keep the killer from waiting another minute to get out of the game. You obviously are remembering wrong but i started playing just as spirit and adam came out and back then last survivor was sac'd immediately on first hook. and that was in 2018!

I haven't played any games that I can't leave whenever I want. This is the only one that penalized people for leaving when they wanted to or more often then not got booted off the server. During the DC penalty, myself and a decent amount of others did suicide on hook to get out of unsavory matches. Why are you so hell-bent on defending bad behavior. There is rarely a discussion about sportsmanship, fairness, decency. Just you telling me that no matter how someone else chooses to conduct themselves I have to "just put up with it". Why? How am I more wrong for removing myself from a situation than the perpetrator of the situation. I don't think anyone should have to put up with face-camping, or a 4-man slugfest, etc. And in those situations if I see someone in my group leave, kudos to them. May their next match go better and maybe the face-camper learns something if enough people are unwilling to play with them.
And since you would call the police after getting spit in the face I assume you also distanced yourself from the spitter. You keep going on about the rules, but my main point is DCing should not be against the rules. No one should be forced to "PLAY A GAME" with undesirable people, and you have no idea who is and is not a problem until you are in the situation.
I wish they would institute Ban Lists, because if people who engaged in poor sportsmanship got themselves on enough lists they would run out of people to be terrible too and we would never have to see them again. But unlike most other games it is not possible at this time and may never be.
games that are online and pvp/competitive/ranked that have disconnect penalties: Pubg, call of duty modern warfare, overwatch to name a few. single player games will penalize you for shutting things down by dropping you back to your last save point so i believe that there is a penalty for most games. I asked if you played any games that didn't have rules to break and I'm pretty sure you can't name a single one like that. if you are willing to put up with your penalty, you are more than welcome to disconnect. I hope that someone see you in the lobby and disconnects on you, and I hope that you are left to be the only one in the game by disconnects, and I hope you come here to complain about how you were robbed of points and your rank, because you will then be 1 v 1 with the killer where the killer will catch you. or you won't get much of a chance as the killer could find the hatch and close it on you.
if you look at the unsportsmanlike category, disconnecting is right there. so they have started to, also most people don't understand the reporting system and it's not just at the score board section. you have to have proof of the unsportsmanlike conduct and submit a supplemental ticket as well with said proof. so since you're so hip on unsportsmanlike conduct disconnecting is considered that and with the penalties they are penalized.

How on Earth would I know if I am in your lobby? Because I will avoid it if you have some way for me to tell.
Why should people be forced to play with people they don't want to? If someone walked into the grocery store and spit in your face you would walk away from them, not sit in their cart and take more abuse.
first of all if I play survivor just as much as i play killer. so if you're in my lobby please leave because i don't want you to sit in for more abuse.
why I would actually call 911 and report an assault with a deadly weapon if someone spit in my face. In a game you follow the rules set by the game. If you are willing to take the penalty by all means disconnect, if you don't know who it is why would you disconnect? just because they don't play how you want them to play is no reason to leave the game. Put it to you this way: 1) why would you play a game only to piss away any points you've made? 2) why not just attempt to get off the hook and not struggle that is something you can do and not have to worry about a penalty. simple as that. instead of breaking game rules, personally if you keep thinking about disconnecting you should assess the game and really think about if you really want to play the game.
I love how you're fine with breaking the rules in this game but make no comment about exceeding the speed limit. Rules are rules. if you do not like rules don't play a game with rules. I would love to know what game you have played that has no rules I'd wager there are none and that each game you've played had rules of some kind. Enjoy trying to think about one.

I 100% think that you should be able to DC. There is not good reason to make people play with people that do not want to play with, period. This is a game people pay money for, not a prison. I think people should have the option to leave a match if they so choose. Just like players have the option to play crappy and underhanded, so to should players have the option to not put up with it. Player behavior got way worse after DC penalty was instated, for the reason I stated above. Negative behavior was raging unchecked and even in some cases encouraged, and players who did not wish to participate in that kind of toxicity were just stuck being victimized. SO you know what I am glad DC ban is not a thing right now, and hope it is gone for good. I do not DC very often but I do not for one second think it should be off the table. I also have never been inconvenienced or had a fellow teammate "ruin my game" by DCing, they want to go, go ahead. Sometimes I agree with their decision to leave and think they had a good reason, sometimes I have no idea why they left and just do not care. It is not a problem for me in any way.
I see up above you also stated that tunneling and camping are a strategy and not toxic. If this is your view you should expect to see a decent amount of DCs, deserved ones. No one should have to sit there while you camp them to death, if they are gonna depip anyway because you have chosen a toxic playstyle, they should have the option to take the quick depip and go get into a more palatable match.
I play killer about 20% of the time, so definitely not 50/50 but out of my nearly 2000 hours that is a decent amount of matches. I could probably count on 1 hand the amount of people who have DCd out of a match I played as killer. I do not camp, tunnel and minimally slug, I do not use hooked or downed survivors as bait. If DCs are enraging you so much it says more about how you are playing than the people refusing to pay with you.
1) i don't think i should be limited to 55 mph, i can choose to exceed this posted legal limit but I must accept the penalty if I am caught doing so.
2) by your logic, if people should be allowed to dc without penalty then you can't talk about toxic behavior at all because then you are denying people playing the way they want to.
3) The Devs have said that tunneling and camping is allowed, if you define looking at you for a long period of time as toxic then everyone playing myers is toxic. but they aren't are they? only to you it is toxic. I never said they were a good tactic, just that it is a tactic and not reportable since the DEVS have said so. the DEVS have also said that if you disconnect from a match that is against the rules. There is a feature you can use but if you do you risk being "caught" by the game doing something against the rules.
4) I have never said you should not be able to dc, but I believe you should not disconnect manually except in very specific circumstances which are game braking bugs or issues like being stuck in the geometry or something else just as bad like being hooked but spectating the killer which causes the game to never end.
5) when the reason for the disconnect is any of the following: "He looked at me wrong!", "he nodded his head at me." "he tunneled me!" and more of this. it's all bs because you get your feelings hurt. a recent post showed a streamer's vod where he was pulled off a gen, hooked, the killer went away downed another while the first was unhooked and healed then jumped on the same gen he was pulled off of originally. then the killer came back looking for anyone they could find. well even with the other survivor leaving the gen, his spine chill going off, he just claimed tunneling. That is laughable. Most of the time when you get tunneled it's accidental and part of the game. have you ever followed scratch marks to find the guy that just got off the hook and you didn't even go back to the hook? and then been accused of tunneling? oh yea i have and another time i chased someone for much of the match, and even though i didn't get a chance to hook them because i was getting chase time in, and I was accused of tunneling them the whole match! because I am supposed to be the one that makes sure he gets a great game experience? he was a rank 4, I was a rank 15.
Just because you have the ability to does not mean you should use it. if I owned a gun should I shoot anyone i feel like? no I shouldn't but I CAN if I wanted. People abused the fact they had a dc mechanic, and thus why the penalties were put it. people used to be able to see who the killer was, and they'd litterally disconnect to depip the killer. how is this action fair hmm? It isn't. they did it before to gain a benefit out of it, a 4 or 2 pip removal for causing someone that didn't want to depip to depip. they gained a benefit that they lost rank so they'd not face higher ranks and they get to make someone loose rank at the same time. this is also something against the rules (to derank to intentionally face easier opponents).
Stop making assumptions about how I play just because I know something doesn't mean that I do it. I do not tunnel or camp intentionally but the definitions of both fluctuate from player to player. but as said before, apparently chasing someone the whole match but not hooking them is tunneling. but you know what? if you want to condone violating the rules of the game as written by the devs and company that own the game then you can kindly leave any lobby I am in and you are as well. I will not leave because i'm not going to wait again, but you are more than welcome to leave and wait yourself because you are the one that will break the rules as stated.

Do you really have this many people who D/C in your games? If so why when so many others do not have this issue? I am not assuming it is you but there has to be a root to the cause of your problem. I mean you posted at least 3 topics about D/Cing and now in this persons topic. I will say that there certainly are rage quitting babies who get downed once and quit but then there are those people that don't want to reward toxic behavior on either side.
If you are and it seems you may be having this big of an issue with that many D/Cing people in your games ask yourself why? I see maybe one D/C out of every 5 or 6 games but it sounds like and just asking but you are having this issue more often then not. I mean you seem to have this issue to the point it is ruining your game experience and not sure why it is happening to you that much.
Do you do anything toxic to rage people into quitting? Do you tunnel or camp? Do you slug and just let people bleed out which can make people mad? I mean the list goes on.
Then on survivor side they could be teabagging and be stuck as a killer against survivors out of your rank and this does happen. You could have a team mate and this has happened to me that kept letting the killer know where you are. The person kept opening the locker I was in and pointing to it. Their name was even Toxic* . The list goes on but there is many reasons people D/C. I hope you find the root of the reason you are having so many D/C's.
to answer your questions: 1) I am not a toxic player what so ever. 2) Tunneling and camping are known strats to play the game this is not toxic behavior, 3) I do not tbag at pallets, windows or any time the killer misses. 4) you seem to know every single reason to dc outside of the two or three legit reasons. 5) I speak my mind when people bring issues like this up and say they love the penalties are gone because they are free to dc anytime! 6) with the statement like that in many posts and responses about this topic is it no wonder that people complain about dc's?
When I play killer I do not intentionally tunnel, but if you're off the hook and working on a gen,you are once again fair game because you're back in the game. I don't care if you just got off the hook, you want to do a gen near the hook and I find you then yea i'm going to down you and re-hook you. I'll slug to wait out ds or go after someone else in the area, only ONCE did I slug all 4 people and let them bleed out (why you ask? I was pissed, beyond pissed and I wanted someone to pay so I went into a match slugged them and stopped playing at the end of that match for the night).
I was in 10 matches just now and 3 of them had a dc of some sort, one was even the killer. and earlier today I was watching a friend stream as killer and he had 4 dc's in the span of 5 matches. He is not a toxic killer or anything they just wanted to deny him points, because they didn't like that they couldn't win. This is the problem people take the game so seriously they violate the game rules which does say disconnecting is against the rules when ever they feel like it. instead of grilling me on why i have so many, you need to think why you want to dc so much, and that is for everyone that dc's they have to realize that all the people that dc because "the killer nodded at me" or the killer tunneled me... or any reason other than game breaking errors (or perhaps panic attacks caused by the game) are the reason that people who get disconnected because their power went out, their router fried, the isp went down and more reasons outside of the player's control, get penalized as well. there is no way to discern a network issue from someone removing the ethernet cable from their router.

I did not one time in my entire post say I DCd, I actually said I was "trapped in games with camp/tunnel killers" because you can't DC. So your entire comment is not relevant to what I said. Reread my post and then converse with me about the actual topics I broached.
so you don't even see what you said and how it is understood. "trapped in games with camp/tunnel killers" because you can't DC." this to me said that if you could DC you WOULD. that's why I responded the way i did. That is the attitude that perpetuates the idea it's ok to DC. do you want to rethink how you are playing? if you think you can't dc means you were thinking that you wanted to DC. simple as that, based upon what you said I followed the logic and reasoning.

I am not saying I am a mean or crappy player. Once again you assume and you seem to do that a lot.
Overall at the end of the day a D/C is still points gained and if you are having that big of an issue with that many D/C's ask yourself why people are D/Cing while you play killer or even survivor. IT may be YOU and the way you play causing people to D/C. I mean just from this post and looking back over your many other post about this same situation you seem to have a HUGE D/Cing issue. I am kind of thinking but not assuming the problem is you may be playing toxic and no one wants to play with toxic players. Me thinking by the way is not me assuming and instead asking you if you do anything toxic.
Do you tunnel or camp? Do you slug and let people bleed out? If so toxic behavior is met with toxic results like D/C's. I personally hate D/cing because how long games can take to find and load but I will not reward toxic behavior. Either way good day to you and hope you have better luck in your games. Live long and Don't D/C NANO NANO!
first of all i stated my OPINION, this is not an assumption but my OPINION. lol you keep wanting to make that about me assuming and my opinion is that if you d/c for any reasons other than game breaking bugs or your personal mental health (intense phobias that can cause panic attacks and worse) then it is my opinion you are a mean and crappy player because you don't want to help your team or you deny the survivors their game.
as to points the killer get 675 points, which does not equated to the 1000 points for the hook, plus 200 for the sac. and you get points for being abandoned, which does not make up for the 1000 points for the save and 500 if it was a safe unhook. so sure you get 1/2 the points for one time but nothing close to what it would award you and it actually awards it in a different category than it should for killer it is put into brutality not sacrifice.

Where is it in this thing you posted? I even did a find the word and cannot find the word disconnect and I even took my time to read it twice.
https://store.steampowered.com/eula/381210_eula_0
That is the link you gave us to click and read and I do not see it in there? Where is the link to the rules you just posted?
alright it was a different person that didn't want to do research, and i posted the link to the RULES of the game which explicitly state what is and is not breaking the rules in the game. here it is for you: fine i will do your research for you: googling "dbd reportable offenses" you see this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system
and why does it SAY not to report? below it, here is the answer and I even quoted that for you: "About Disconnects bans - DO NOT REPORT
Disconnects are handled by the disconnection penalty system. No further action will be taken on reports."
They specify why not to report this, and that's because there is supposed to be a penalty system in place which currently has been removed because of issues of hacking.
you are looking for ways to be a crappy player, fine look for those loop holes. and guess what I'll report you for them every time, if it's a dc I will do it currently because the system is not in place right now because of the reasons i mentioned in the previous post. why do you want to disconnect so much? you are saying "ME ME ME ME ME!" and the game is not about you, but you and 4 other players. you leaving early is just a slap in their face.

Also two things, you are right they can perma ban and stop people from playing on steam, but once again you assume I bought it on steam. I own the cartridge and the game on switch so yes at best they could somehow stop me from playing online but I could still play local games with friends right here in my living room so point me. =)
Then number two about the TOS you are right by saying D/C is a bannable offense but no where in there does it directly list D/C and instead says this very vague and umbrella term:
"While participating in the Game, you also agree to comply with certain rules of conduct that govern your use of the game ("Rules of Conduct"), for example you may not:
"eHarass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another user that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion".....and the list goes on but not one thing about D/C. Overall yes they could ban you for anything. I mean it says right there you may not do anything else to another use that is unwanted....well I do not want you to hook me or camp or tunnel me so report that. I do not want you to throw me on the ground and watch me bleed out so report that I guess. I mean it is like grasping at straws trying to make a point but just do what the rest of us do and go into a new game with a fresh smile and pep in your step or take a break. Good day mate and hope your problem get's fixed because deep down I do not think it is the D/Cing that is the issue but the root cause of why you are having so many people D/Cing when you play. Pip pip and cheerio! =)
first of all, it DOES include d/cing in the rules i quoted so because you decided to gloss over it here is the quote for this:
"Unsportsmanlike Conduct
- Botting
- Lag switching
- Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT
- For both Botting and Lag switching, in-game reports are REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL
About Disconnects bans - DO NOT REPORT
Disconnects are handled by the disconnection penalty system. No further action will be taken on reports."
It is RIGHT THERE under unsportsmanlike conduct. as I said in my message it says do not report and covers that at the last because of the disconnection penalty system. Currently there are no penalties because the system has been taken down due to hacking that occurred and they are working to fix that. So there you go in black and white they will act, and can review the accounts that have been penalized and if they decide to they can stop your account. Speaking of your account, you bought the cartridge sure. they can not take away your physical copy because you own it, BUT they CAN block you from accessing the online content by banning the account you set up when you first applied the game in your switch, Playstation, Xbox, Microsoft Store and Steam. can you create a new account? yes but guess what, you wont have the same stuff and anything you've bough will have to be bought once again. I do not know how the switch works but you will probably have to make a new switch account in order to do this but that is my guess. same with your playstation or xbox.
You keep talking about my assumptions, I do not assume what you play on or through. I use steam as a general bit of information because I know steam quite well. Ask any dev if the have the right to deny your account access to the online content. You are the one trying to find the loop hole so you can be a crappy team mate and disconnect from a match. You are part of the reason that the penalties exist, you are part of the reason that people like me who very rarely get network issues and if i have one I will have to suffer a penalty. I've had this happen where my computer freezes up and thus I have to reboot my computer and when i come back I am out of the game (though the time it takes to relaunch i'm done with the 5 minute penalty as I don't just D/C for stupid reasons. you bought the game, you knew you would play against other people, and you accepted this but you decide that because they tunnel you or they camp you it's ok to dc. this is laughable and you are being selfish. (edit to add this) Oh and when the dc's happen when the match starts, or when i am the killer get the first person downed and then hooked, I don't under normal circumstances camp or tunnel intentionally. I clear the area around a hook looking for potential rescuers and then move on. If someone doesn't like the huntress with insta hatchets well, that's not a reason to disconnect as stated above. When I'm a survivor and I see someone disconnect right away or for any reason I look at it and say oh well looks like this game is a wash. I can't do anything more till I am out and then report the account for violating the rules. It is not how I play, it is how people are and believe they can do anything they want without penalty and that is not true.
About your first reply to me (yes I will not use a different message) You tell me to take my own advice and let him play his own way. well sure if he wants to play with sprint burst and walk around the map, or run I don't care how he plays. once he breaks the rules by disconnecting (listed above) this is different. If you are driving on any place that has a rule not to exceed a certain speed, sure they can do it but it breaks the law (rule), and thus they are subject to penalties and others can tell them that they are a danger to people because of their actions. thus with the rule in place that disconnecting is punishable, I can tell people to follow the rule, don't do it. will they continue to do it? perhaps but I will report anyone that dc's intentionally in the match. now that you know it is in the rules that disconnecting intentionally is there, you can decide how you wish to continue to play, but know that if you disconnect intentionally you can be punished and that is on you not me, I am trying to show people that they can't whine about anything that happens to them because of breaking the rules and if you want to get out of a match as a survivor, go find the killer get them to down you then hook you. once there attempt to escape from the hook and if you don't, don't struggle. I accept this is a valid way of leaving the match, a crappy way but it is not against the rules.

I have not had any problem with people DCing, it has happened and has not been a problem. I am so glad the ridiculous DC penalty system is gone, at least for now. Not only was I sick of being trapped in games with killers who were entitled to camp/tunnel every match because they knew if you left you would be punished not them. I was also tired of every other post in the forum being from people who just want to play but got kicked off server, ending their play for the night. It was a terrible setup all the way around. Maybe an future implementation will be better executed and more fair.
if you are so fed up with this, then take a break or quit playing all together. if you feel you have to expect to dc because a killer doesn't play YOUR way then find a different game. I am glad the penalty existed, and when it was gone suddenly I see 50% more dc's at minimum and it stops me from getting points, challenges and even escaping thanks to the selfishness of people like you. Personally I think the penalties were way too soft.

well TECHNICALLY they can ban you for no reason, its their game. but realistically, you can't get banned for dcing by reports. Im pretty sure if you dc too much you get auto banned even without the time penalty.
if they were currently functioning. they have been disabled to prevent the hacking. and YES you can, and if you do it enough they can review your account and decide what to do about it beyond just the automated penalties.

sorry if I ask something obvious but I am not sure about it, were tue dc oenalties removed?
because the amount of people disconnecting lately is ridicolous, it is making the game unplayable.
there was a verified hack that caused people to have penalties when they were never disconnected. behavior is working to prevent that from happening again thus they removed the dc penalty because of 3rd party hacking.

you actually made me read through tos and i couldnt find anything, again feel free to show me where it says dcing is bannable.
the closest thing i found is this.> "Interfere with the ability of others to enjoy playing a BHVR Service or take actions that interfere with or materially increase the cost to provide a BHVR Service for the enjoyment of all its users."
which is really vague and probably just refers body blocking griefing etc.
fine i will do your research for you: googling "dbd reportable offenses" you see this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system
Guess what it is in there.. (this has the penalty system for disconnects in it so it says do not report but currently it is not in there) but now that you've read the TOS you know they can remove your access for any reason what so ever, and this includes abuses of the game itself including "disconnecting" you do not have an action in the match that lets you "disconnect/leave the match" you have to open the match menu and use the functionality in that. this is abusing the system as that functionality is there to stop a game from going for hours. the fact you think that disconnecting for just any reason, or even a few reasons shows how much respect you hold others to and that is very little. as I stated before the functionality to disconnect is to prevent the matches from not finishing, survivor/killer stuck in the geometry or bug that prevents the game from completing.
NOW the reason there is a penalty now is becuase people will disconnect because they don't like how the killer nodded at them (yes i've heard and seen this), they didn't like that the killer tunneled them, or camped them. other reasons I've heard and seen "I was found right away." or "I don't like killer X" (only one of those i'd EVER agree on grudgingly, is in the case of a sever phobia for example of clowns as this is potentially a mental break or worse). all of those reasons are actual reasons i've been a witness to and it is not even fair for the killer or the survivors you play with.

It is THEIR RIGHT because they paid for the game. I do not care about what the Constitution or whatever says. It is funny you assumed I am from there. Once again like others you assumed that I assumed or cared where you are from and I didn't and don't, but plain and simple you cannot tell someone who used THEIR OWN MONEY what they can and cannot do in THEIR copy of the game.
actually Yes Behavior can dictate how their software is used. since this was purchased through STEAM, you do not own it but purchase the RIGHTS to use the software as set forth in their TOS and RULES of the game. they can at any time revoke your usage of their game acording to the TOS. here is the TOS: https://store.steampowered.com/eula/381210_eula_0 (also this is for microsoft store, Xbox and Playstaion.) This is the same reasoning that Steam can ban you for cheating in a game even if you never did so, but someone used your computer, and blamo because they did it steam gave you a vac ban.

I'm not going to act like ive read TOS, but i HIGHLY doubt that leaving mid game is against tos and you can get banned for it once lmao. Especially since the option is literally there. Feel free to tell me where it says that in tos and i will believe you.
Actually it is against TOS to disconnect from the game without leaving the game naturally. this is why there is an option to REPORT people who ragequit/intentionally D/C. (the far right on the scoreboard it says it right there). The rules are set forth and most don't read them, but ignorance of a law is not a defense. and the TOS is the law of the game as set down by Behavior.
EDIT: and though the option is there, it is supposed to be used in extreme distress where there is no other way to naturally conclude the game. Ask any dev, ask any forum community manager or anyone at behavior and they will say it is not something to be used lightly.

Just checking for that challenge? I cannot find the one were you have to kill all 4 survivors. I am not being rude but just asking or are you made and just saying IF there was a challenge it would be impossible with people D/Cing? I mean it it is the later question then I could say I hate when a killer hooks me IF I am trying to do a challenge that I have to play without getting hooked, which there has been one, or if I am doing a challenge where I must escape using Dwight.
I have had a killer D/C because they did not hook one person and because I did not escape out the gate I could not complete the challenge. I did not get mad and laughed and moved on. I say you do you and if people get punished then you may lose players all together who hate that because their internet crashed, and that has happend to me, get in the banned que time for something out of their control. I had one match I was dead and in the loading screen for the end results so me turning my game off should not have mattered, but I got a drink and went to play again and had a 10 minute que time. I decided to take a long break from the game and play other stuff.
Also like one person mentioned above there is a good list of reasons to D/C and it is everyone rights to D/C even yours.
4th level of the third tome, it's the one right be the epilogue in the center if you go from the top killer start point. says kill the players by any means possible and do it in one match. there has been one of these in each tome. I was saying that a dc does things, robs others of points, challenges, and many other things. in your case I would hope that the killer has a disconnect penalty that they have to bear. the only REASON to use out of match capabilities to leave the match is if you are stuck in the geometry or bugged where the game will not come to an end. Those two are the only reasons you should every disconnect from the game INTENTIONALLY.
It is not your RIGHT to disconnect. not when that disconnect affects others. The First Amendment in the united states only applies to the government, not businesses or the people. and you don't know where I am from either, you are assuming that I am in the united states and that in and of itself is bad. Because the first amendment has no functionality or existance here on this forum, Behavior can decide to lock anyone's account for any reason. doesn't matter what that reason is, if it's a crappy one, then they risk others finding out and deciding to not purchase things from them anymore or play their game.

I wouldn't even call it wasting time either. each dull totem is 1000 points.

using this without EXCLUSIVE permission would be an invasion of privacy. this is an internet based game, if the game were to access the mic it could then be easily hacked to record and even be unmuted without the user ever knowing. this has been discussed before with the devs and they even said they tried activating the mic originally and you'd get people breathing funny etc without realizing you're hearing another player. not something they'll want to repeat.

It is not a victory. if I am trying to kill all 4 survivors (for challenge) a DC DOES NOT COUNT I have to play again. If I'm to unhook the person that unhooked me before and they dc then I can't do that.

won't matter: show, hide, be vague some will find fault and some will love the idea and the argument will continue "I didn't get a good match up!" "You got a good matchup" etc. the only extra benefit hiding it gives is plausible denyability to the devs when things break. they won't have to say a word about it.

Then the solution would be to show the difference between your MMR and the others in the lobby; keep the numbers relative to show whether or not you were matched appropriately, all without giving the players something to sweat and whine over (actual MMR value/standing).
though in theory even that would be exploitable. The problem is in any competitive game people are going to game the system. it will only take time to figure it out. The other problem is people will complain about it being vague and thus arbitrary. win conditions need to be specified in order to understand how anything about this is done, yet the devs have said time and time again there are more win conditions than they can say. also, what happens with the killer letting the last survivor out? how is that counted? how is it counted if the match is turned into a farming match? how about if a killer AFK's? how about if a survivor dc's or two dc's (legit reasons)? there is no way this game could have a specific enough win condition to truly effectively use an MMR system. Overwatch: specified scenarieos, this means you know what you have to do to get a victory or a loss. COD:MW and all the other FPS games don't have the asymmetry DBD has. I do not expect this to be heralded in as a 100% resounding success, I actually see it driving people away.
how about cheats? there is no real good cheat engine for this game and hell they had to remove the dc penalties because that's being hacked, and currently survivors are knowing the killer before they even lock and load in to the match yet there is nothing about that fix other than rumors and thus the locked in killer is screwed.

i'm sorry for being sarcastic, but there are many people on here that drop messages like that being trolls. The killer might be right my internet does this to itll fall to like McDonalds internet for a second randomly then spike all the way back up to normal so i could get dcd but my internet seems fine because it all happens in the span of 2 seconds.
doubtful, possible yes, but very doubtful. that blink would litterally be within a millisecond otherwise the three way handshake that is used for the connection would be lost. I'm a network specialist and I know how these routers work, and you're going through a minimum of 4. your router, your isp's router at the isp central, atleast ONE intermedary router and finally the dedicated server's router. there could easily be more, and in very rare instances only 3. but that's at minimum 3 routers that have to keep connection, and if it looses the signal in a millisecond or less it will time out. (this is how you have a 112 ms ping since that's how long it takes your signal to go from your pc to the destination and back).

I actually like the bot idea. Like, yeah, the bots will be terrible... but at least the bot would try to do objectives instead of just giving up on hook if they bring back a d/c penalty. Hell, a bot working on a gen is better than half the potatoes you get as teammates at red rank in solo queue.
bots are not for actual games but a practice mode on mobile games. bots in a real game would be predictable and would get 4k's as well as execute dead hard perfectly timed without indication of looking backwards. lots of issues there.

Had a killer dc on us, and when we were in the after game just chatting, the killer TYPES my internet connection went out on me! hmmm well 1) if you can type to us your internet connection didn't go out. 2) you said that to try and fool some idiots that you didn't intentionally dc. the couple times in almost 2 years i lost internet while playing dbd i lost all connection to the game i was in before and after dedicated servers.
This is why we need the penalties, and they are not stiff enough, maybe for the first it's good but only adding 5 minutes on the second and another 5 on the third? come on that's too light. this is not an esports game true enough but however it IS a competitive game. that means you are compeating to see if you win against another person or not. If you will earn blood points in a match dc penalties should exist.

There's a pinned post from the devs about how the new MMR system diregards rank, as rank only indicates how much a person has played in a month, not their skill. Expect to see all kinds of ranks.
As far as disconnects, it seems that the penalty was disabed to stop it from affecting players with the connection error bug.
I would like MMR to stay hidden. Seeing rank rise and fall only makes some players sweaty for the rank-up, and get extra salty if they drop in rank. I think the same would happen if MMR were visible.
I am curious, though, if the killer-specific rank is being tracked right now, or not until the Mid-Chapter patch locks killer selection before queue'ing.
penalty was not stopped because of the connection error bug. it is because a team of hackers found a way to give people they didn't like 3 hours of penalties without a single dc.
with the hidden mmr, it's not easy to see how matching is done, so how the heck can you believe it's being done at all? I've gotten as a rank 17 killer ranks 2, 3, 3, and 5 and they let me get 6K points lol (that's all i could get, couldn't get a hit what so ever. where as when i go against more mid ranked players i get even matches. so what if i get this again? am i to believe that I can't go against the red ranks but if that's so why wasn't i paired with people that have mid rank skill ? this implementation along with the locking of killer from the minute you press go before the main lobby (though understandable) while there are hacks to see the killer and they have been very silent about fixing this so far, it wasn't in ptb patch notes from my understanding either. so what am I to believe?

Making sure the other houses don't also catch on fire is a priority too. You don't assign an entire hose or team to the houses not on fire, but you sure as hell keep an eye on the houses near the fire and jump to action if you notice an ember catching a curtain on fire.
My point is that just because something big and flashy is a problem that doesn't mean you shouldn't also care about the smaller problems. This isn't an entire perk rework or balance. It's a tiny QoL that improves the game.
And when I see bhvr spending all this time nerfing Billy it tells me they have a lot of extra time laying around. Why not spend it on something people won't hate?
Anyways, I'm not really interested in talking to you anymore for a few reasons, so this is the last time I'm going to respond.
wow you love the sound of your own typing there. I never said it shouldn't be looked at or anything but there are priorities they you don't know. and not everyone hates the changes, and many are needed, just because a small number of people don't like something doesn't mean everyone doesn't like it. I can see you want only what you want and don't care if anyone else has an opinion. WHY POST it here? go directly to the source, ask to help them do what you want and see how fast it happens. You don't want to talk to me? fine that's your choice but realize that your arguments are not compelling at all.

"Why waste time making the game less frustrating and improving a rarely used perk?"
Just because one house is on fire doesn't mean we shouldn't watch the houses beside it and put out any embers that might be flying onto it.
lol. so if you have 11 houses and the middle one is on fire and you have 5 fire hose teams, you have to prioritize which houses get the water to keep them from catching fire and those are usually the ones much more danger than the other ones. so if you have 50 tasks to complete but only a few people to complete these tasks you have to prioritize what tasks to do.
so in this case you want a small change to a perk that isn't broken or not working. do you know the full extent on what you want to do in the programming? do you know how to make sure that change doesn't affect how the rest of the game works? there is more to it than just changing the description because that doesn't change how it actually works. I am not saying it's not a good idea or that it is a bad change. I'm saying that it isn't necessarially the best thing to devote efforts to when there are very important things to work on.

As I said, I know many that know much about the game use SB to GREAT use, and then I've seen people accidentally use it sooooo much more and we all have a good laugh as we say "AW DAMN I JUST USED MY SB!" and laugh it off and keep playing. The fact that you think people are afraid of your reports shows what a garbage snowflake you are. What's the worst that can happen? I get banned from forums and have to make a new forum account? Ohhh nooooo
I said if you harass me in the game. but maybe I should report you here you have multiple times called me an idiot and many other insinuated things. I also really like sprint burst. The way I use it is as a time saver. Minimising the time it takes to move between objectives like gens, totems and saving teammates is very powerful, I understand you prefer to use it as self assurance the killer won't catch you immediately, and that's fine! Perhaps when you are solo you rightfully value your survival over your other teammates, and nobody should tell you otherwise.
But if you are the only one who is able to realistic save a teammate from a hook and you are a distance away, walking all the way to the hook is probably not the best course of action to ensure you and your whole team escape alive. As a mostly solo player myself I see at it like "looking out for my teammates increases the odds of my own survival", and the best way to help is to constantly be on objectives if I am not in danger.
I am NOT telling you how to play the game, having SB off cooldown to help you prevent a hit in chase is great I agree, and being stealthy and avoiding a chase altogether has it's place as well. But it doesn't hurt to be flexible. It comes down to having good game sense, and a feel for how the match is going. If you know the killer is occupied and you aren't in danger, then walking between objectives is safe sure but perhaps not the most effective way you are spending your time. If you are uncertain about how safe you are in the moment than perhaps see if you can fit perks like kindred, Bond, Empathy or play in SWF to help better judge if you are likely to end up getting chased. Game sense is a skill that can be constantly improved, and it can help you decide for yourself the best way to win.
Sprint Burst only has 40 seconds of cooldown, in my opinion saving it only for when the killer is nearby just means I don't get to use it as much, whereas using it frequently means I get more value out of it, with only the occasional chance I don't get to use it in chase. And using it frequently means that sometimes, I get to run around with it at 99%, giving the best of both worlds.
I have never once said anything bad about sprint burst what so ever. I know people that swear by it and I never tell them to play something different. me, I do not like that i have to HOLD back to prevent using my power so to me Lithe is a better exhaustion perk because I am able to control when I trigger it. Again nothing wrong with sprint burst to those that like it and if you want to play it more by all means please do so. I am all about playing the game in our own way and not yelling at others to play a specific way.
-
lol yea you want it so the killer is locked in and you can use external programs to know who you are facing and alter your play style. that is by the dev's OWN words CHEATING. I am making the point that if everyone was locked into their builds from the minute they readied up and thrown into a match without an interceding lobby, 1) the killer would not see what you are using, 2) you could not alter what you are using depending on the killer.
This is NOT just a thing for killers to get better matches, it is a thing for BOTH sides to get better matches. I guess you're blinded by your own bias that you can't see that my way makes your complaints null and void.

2 things here.
1. You're not special for surviving on sfw. Sfw is literally easy mode. It's hard to die in sfw unless you're just plain bad or the killer is face camping.
2. If you're running for the entirety of a chase you're doing it wrong. When you're looping there are areas where you just shouldn't be moving much until you know what the killer is doing.
Getting 20 seconds of exhausting back in a chase is not hard if you're looping the right spots.
lol you keep changing your answer to fit your narrative. look you play your way, i'll play my way, and YES I have also survived without a swf and gotten win conditions without a team as well. just because you play differently does not mean that my way is incorrect what so ever. Stop making it that way, this game has the room for you to play and for me to play. my comments stand and STOP telling me how to play the game I know how to play and how to win just like you. I have not altered how i say my comments yet you keep having to clarify yours. take a walk, if you tell me i'm playing it wrong I'll tell you that you are playing the game wrong and if you antagonize me over it I WILL report the harassment. I've even suggested we call it but you keep coming back trying to make your point the only one way to win, it is not.

Okay your idiocy knows no bounds. You're implying it's better to do all the bones in a map to avoid noed rather than genrushing and escaping? None of your arguments are valid after trying to say sometime as stupid as that. You're the survivor that wastes literally everyone else's time and causes the loss. You're the survivor that sucks so bad at chases you do everything you can do avoid them. I wouldn't be surprised if you're a perma rank 20
The fact is at higher ranks you should run, because it's faster. And if the killer finds you because of it, good, waste their time in a chase while your team rushes gens. The fact you don't know that this is the easiest way to winning games shows how inexperienced you are as a survivor. It also shows you shouldn't be commenting on a post like this with the extreme lack of knowledge you have.
I run sprint burst so I know this from personal experience as a sprint burst user. Let's say a chase starts and your sprint burst has a 20 second Cd on it. Imagine being mid chase and getting that sprint burst. That will help you a lot more than a sprint burst just at the start of the chase.
Well in the last few hours i played about 10 matches as survivor with friends and i died 2 or 3 of those 10. so 30% "LOSS" rate. BTW your comment about having 20 seconds cool down on your sprint burst while in a chase and suddenly you have it again? what are you doing? WALKING the killer? because Exhaustion does not clear while you are RUNNING! And for your information I have played the game for over 2500 hours, and I know everything you said is situational. take my games today: 70 percent we GOT OUT of the match, did bones and totems. I never said anything about doing all the bones solely, as a team it's great... I take one or two totems down, the other 3 take one or two down (if there are any left) and we have lost maybe 1 minute combined while the others run the killer, do gens and heal each other. your outburst and final statement that the sprint burst cool down will come back mid chase makes you even worse than you make me out because that's impossible, and if you are getting it back in a chase you're cheating.

You should not be worried about dying and escaping every time. If you escape, pip up or safety pip, that means you won. Escaping is not the only win.
And yes I do care about what you do because this is a TEAM game if you are a survivor. What you do, impacts me.
I do think cleansing totems is important and I don't go down to noed. You are clearly immature so keep losing those games for your team by playing as a scaredy cat. And please dodge me if you see me because I don't need the dead weight on my team.
lol read the above.. my team I was playing with today did quite well!!! gotta love how you are making judgements. fine, here is my judgement of you: You are the kind of person that doesn't want to loose and will take any chance to feel big by trying to cut others down and make them feel bad....(didn't work... welll my side hurts from all my laughing so hard) sure I'll leave your damn lobby if i can, and i'll take my team with me! you can find another 3 survivors to play with! and enjoy the ones you MIGHT GET that aren't up to your calibur of players.

Well for the sake of equality I guess survivors should be able to see the killer since he can see the survivors and their items. Yay equality.
P.s. the entire point of this game is assymetrical gameplay.
yes it is. fine then we should see your add ons, the specific gear and know exactly what perks you are running. look, the game hides the killer to make it suspenseful and make the survivors plan according to that, and the killer all they see is a tool box, but they can't tell is it an alex's box or a commodious? what version of med kit is it? killers have to really look to see a key in hand and steve even hides the key really well 95% of the time. so stop whining, you're getting a benefit in this and all the killers want is that the game is maintained the way it is. I used "EQUALITY" as tongue in cheek humor. it's wrong to prevent someone from adapting to the situation and let others adapt and counter it. This will only drive people away!

Consoles do not have a beginning game chat and subsquently I brought them into this. OP wants a deliverance QOL change to ensure his team knows about the perk. Your solution is to tell them before the game. Consoles exist.
See the issue here?
Edit: Also if you look at the timestamps I posted my comment a minute before OP edited the post sooooo...

2) I was responding to you because of your comment about the console as well, yet I do not know how console works... do you plan on bringing your console to me to "EDUCATE" me?

Ok. You are not doing the math so there's probably no reason to even respond, but I will just on the off chance that you can actually see reason.
You don't need to walk 90% of the time in the match. It's twice as slow as running, which means it takes twice as long to get to any objective.
If a killer is in a chase with someone else, you can run. If you haven't seen the killer yet, but have heard them, you can run. If two to three people are down, you better run.
The only time you need to walk is to avoid leaving tracks for the killer to find. The rest of the time you are simply slowing the whole team down. It's simple math!
you misunderstand me. I will do what I want, it is not about math but about surviving. I hate and rail at people that say you should run just because it's faster. I don't CARE about that, if I'm running and the killer is chasing someone else then sees my scratch marks he may go after me. This causes me to have issues with dying and I do not want to die in game if possible. people like you are the ones that will not listen to reason because you think your way is the only way. You run all over the place I don't give a damn, however I demand the same respect I give you in return. If you don't like it don't play with me in your group but know that you're the one that doesn't know the difference between tactics and math, because math is more important... I bet you're someone that thinks cleansing totems is not worth it as well since that takes away from getting the gens done, and I laugh when i see people like you taken down to noed because bones were not done.

I get amazed when someone sees a flashlight was brought in, downs someone in the open, doesn't sweep the area or even attempt to looks towards a wall, then is shocked they were flashlighted.
the reason the video was posted was NOT for the 4K equivalent, but to show what the last second switch looks like and now that currently you can still tell what killer is there and with the impending stated change that killers will no longer be able to switch once they click ready to start searching for a match this is broken to let survivors continue to do this!. I do not support anything that does not equally affect killer and survivor here. if killers are locked in before going into the lobby, how about this: lobbies are not formed till there are 4 survivors AND one killer, and then all 4 are immediately put into connecting to the match and blamo problem solved, doesn't matter if they know it's a doc anymore they can't do anything about it! YES! problem solved, and no more toxic switching you will either be ready when you click go or you will go in not ready and you have to play with what you have. I think that is fair to everyone, and it keeps the aspect of this new MMR system alive and even makes it more challenging.

I'm so sick and tired of Sprint Burst users are all ranks just walking nonchalantly every where to save up that Sprint Burst. You are wasting all of our time. You could pick that person up off the ground, you could get to that gen faster, you could get to the hook before the killer returns, etc. Just run Lithe or something else instead.
Even people that 99 it are annoying because half the time they're trying to 99 it to save themselves instead of helping the team.
Just run or take it off already.
wow... so I MUST play your way, and your way only? even without sprint burst I WALK many places on the map when I want to be stealthy, especially at the very begining. if you are here to tell me I play the game wrong, you best keep on trucking before you say it because I play the game the way I see fit, and you are not the devs and even then, I'd tell them, if you meant for sprint burst to be used immediately you'd make running the normal mode of movement for survivor!
You are arrogant and can take a long trip off of a short runway because I will play as I see fit and not how you tell me I have to do so. Now if you gave a suggestion I'd look at it and decide if I want to try or shift how I do things. To me sprint burst is not the best perk, it can't be controlled. Lithe however only needs you to vault something at speed for it to trigger.

Part 2 yesterday i did reactions to bloodwarden and this was another mentioned perk so i thought id do it as well. You've done totems and gens (or so you think you've hit all the totems) the killers smacks you once and your instantly down with noed on the side of your screen. How do you respond?
depends on if i've been doing bones or not... if I have "oh crap no one else was doing bones we're boned!" if I haven't "Welp we're boned, no one did bones!"

I don't want to come off like a jerk, but if you think your opinion doesn't matter why come into a thread, tell me your opinion on talking in a lobby, then dodge the actual topic at hand and refuse to give your opinion on what I'm asking about? Just seems weird. Saying you're overwhelmed by icons is a decent argument against it, but I don't think there are too many things clogging up the screen as of right now.

That doesn't fix the problem. My team is now required to know when I've safely unhooked someone, something only one person will definitely know, and requires them to remember who I was and when I've ticked all the boxes. This is something SWF automatically get just by loading discord up. Why not buff solo survivors this tiny bit?

I honestly forgot about console too. Good point.
I have successfully communicated this self same sentiment when I am solo in the pre game lobby. "hey everyone I have to unhook 3 people safely, have BT." and they let me be mr./mrs. (depending on the survivor I'm running) unhooker. IT is up to ME to make sure that I unhook people safely, not the rest of the team in this.
