DS, BT, and Adrenaline are fine by themselves. Its only when used in means outside of the anti tunneling intended by the devs, that most complaints come from. They are hardly used as anti-tunneling skills at red ranks, they are used in a manner to give survivors 2 minutes or so of invulnerability or get out of jail free cards against the killer. SWF all running meta perks can trade off those 2 minutes of invulnerability that essentially makes the killer useless. Its usually done at EGC if well executed by the survivors.
And if you are bitching about Dead Hard as a killer you are a straight up rank 20 killer. its by far the one perk survivors have that rewards skillful play and execution, especially when the dedicated servers take a #########.
You can slug all you want but when you slug 3 survivors after a team bodyblocks an unhook with BT, DS and Adrenaline, and that one BT unhook taps a 99'd gen, all 3 of those slugs now turn into the Flash.
Its the not the perks that cause frustration its how they are used at higher ranks, that causes frustration.
As a Killer main, I dont blame any survivor for running these perks or using them in this manner. They are there to be used and if you are not using them, then you are gimping yourselves. Its up to the devs to balance their game.

The way I see it is that you want an even easier 4K. It does not matter at all how many Gens are done early, as long as not all Gens are done. The new Gatekeeper Emblem even does not punish that anymore in such a hard way as it did before.
Its simply outright ridiculous that players get comfortable 4Ks and still complain about two Gens done really early, which is simply the case when
a) the Gens were on the other side of the map and
b) Survivors spawn together 99% of the time (which is a bad thing, but it happened since one patch and was never changed since then)
Getting a 4k after 2 or more gens pop almost instantly is not a comfortable 4k, its usually a sweat fest, and the result of the survivors/swf playing too altruistically. If the survivors were smart about their gen strat, they will break up any chance at a 3 gen strat by choosing which 2-3 gens are completed first. Survivors 3 gen themselves, the killer doesnt 3 gen anyone.
2-3 gens going before first hook against an optimal swf running DS, BT, Adrenaline and another perk, means those other 2-3 gens are getting done while that one player sits on hook and they all bodyblock to unhook him after 99'ing the gates.
-
3 gens pop before first hook, bye Felicia or facecamp. Not worth the time. It doesn't happen often, usually 2 or 3 engineer toolboxes, prove thyself, and maybe a brand new part. Its a depip either way, and survivors dc on me more than 10 to 1, a good portion on first down or first hook. You go 12 hooks on a 4k, you still get survivors dc'ing on their 3rd to spite the killer. You intentionally give survivors free unhooks at red ranks and get called camper/tunneler and still have 2 dc's if you outplay them. A lot of the TTV players tend to dc if they are playing like #########, or they have their friends take a down and dc so the TTV player gets hatch.

When pallets are eventually destroyed, Pallet Freddy can be quite good.
You will have to stall the game long enough for them to become useful and hope the survivors dont remember where they have used pallets up. At red ranks, most good survivors remember where they have dropped pallets and will actively drop your dream pallets preemptively if they see them up before actually getting in a chase. Snares can be used mid chase to shut down the looping. The snares are buggy in their placement at the moment so they can be a little irritating to place, but are still more useful than pallets.

just accept the fact that devs aren't biased in any way and stop whining about every little thing that doesn't go in your favor. no offense
Everyone is biased to some degree and there is nothing wrong with it, but as the devs of the game they need to overcome their personal biases to balance the game. It is clear as day what side the majority of the devs are biased towards from their press release on patch 3.5.0.

There might be a few whiners out there, but in my experience, no one minds dying in a fair game and MOST survivors only complain when a killer HAS resorted to shady behavior.
No, most survivors ######### if they die period. Very rarely do you get survivors gg'ing at end of game if they die.

Most are not safe pallets, and actually help killers when the survivors think they can loop it.

You got two kills. That's considered a win by the devs. Anything more is a bonus.
It's on you for letting the survivors pair up and find the hatch.
It's no different to Rancor suddenly activating at the end of the match and scoring an insta-down and kill on the Obsession who might've played otherwise perfectly the entire trial.
Except 2 kills barely safety pips if you max out points at red.

Not sure. The funniest part is half of these clips just showcase some of the objective being done, but they end up winning. Gen time isn't an issue for killers who are able to control it. Only time it is, is on humongous maps. But, that's map design, not gen speed.
It takes longer to rebalance or rework the entire map pool than it does to change the generator times or toolboxes. Ideally they would have been balanced at one go, but the devs have decided to balance piecemeal. The go hand in hand, balancing one will change how the other performs.

And the devs rebalanced the gatekeeper emblem, so if your goal is a pip then losing a couple of generators early doesn’t disqualify you from pipping. So my point remains: losing gens early isn’t the end of the world.
Losing certain gens early can be the end of the match. Maps need reworks, certain tile, gen, killer and survivor spawns can easily dictate which side is going to have a higher chance of winning.

It's on our to-do list. The issue is that some perks are very easy to buff (simple number tweaks) while others are a little less so. Monstrous Shrine is actually a great example of that so I'm glad you brought it up. In Monstrous Shrine's case, increasing the numbers probably isn't the way to go about it (unless you really want Basement Bubba to be meta). Monstrous Shrine would likely need a new effect, which takes a lot more time.
Basement Bubba meta sounds fun, lets do it

Things that don’t lose the killer the game:
- Losing one gen
- Losing two gens
- Losing three gens
- Losing four gens
- Sometimes, even losing five gens.
The killer’s goal is to kill survivors, not to kill them before any gens get done. If the survivors have any brains at all then of course they’ll do one or two gens more quickly in the beginning of the match, when survivors are at their strongest and the killer has the least amount of pressure. As long as you don’t let it tilt you, it really doesn’t mean much.
And yet Killers can still depip on 4k. Killing is not their only objective as many like to think. In fact you get punished if you kill all 4 too quickly.

Everything else you can take? There's nothing left to take 😂. Sadly some killer feel compelled to do this as players usually attempt to unhook before getting to second state, and unless hooked in basement, players will make it happen even if they have to trade
If you are not getting 2 gens done while you let me reach second stage on first hook after having looped the killer for the first 3 gens, id rather just suicide out. Too many potatoes letting people get to second stage first hook while not progressing the objective and not being targeted by the killer. The archive has alot to do with it, people sabotaging hooks or cleansing totems right next to a gen thats 80% done drawing the killers agro, farming hooks without BT, sandbagging loopers to get their protection hit in. Also, holy ######### do randoms not heal.

I know killers are being ######### on by the devs right now. I even get the do whatever it takes to do your job, but seriously camping it's still so bad. I'm trying to get my wife to enjoy the game and it's bad enough our ranks are so severely different (I've deranked numerous times but it's too easy to rank as survivor) but when killers camp and tunnel her, it's really hard to get her to enjoy the game.
Not to mention the grind increases for those games since your stuck earning half the possible points. There is almost no way for her to practice the game if she has to wait the 20 minutes wait time and then sits on a hook for 3-4 minutes of a 6-8 minute game.
Camping and tunneling is literally the only thing about this game, I truely despise. Everything else I take because it's in the game so it's fair game. NOED, I just cleanse the totems. Old hex ruin, I just cleansed the totems. Doctor, I just run around constantly and usually die. Freddy, like Deadpool to Juggernaut I just drool over my idol. Killers standing 5-10m away on first hook, really just makes me hate the game.
Those are some rookie numbers, got to stand 16m away while camping so you dont ######### over your chaser icon.

Killer emblems need an overhaul. 3k-4k at red ranks can still be a depip or barely a safety pip depending on your build.

It's already confirmed. It is bannable. I linked the quote above from Peanits, along with a link to the direct quote from him in an older thread posted months ago. This is not acceptable behavior.
The post you linked was prior to the Endgame Collapse where it was considered taking the game hostage. Since the implementation of EGC this is no longer taking the game hostage and the rules for body blocking have been amended. Post was from 2018, EGC is from 2019.

Git gud, Is advice. Not particularly helpful advice, but still advice. But rather than call for nerfs they could learn the games/killer base mechanics.

Your fellow survivors.
Unhook me one more time right in front of the killer when you are not running BT. Body block me at a pallet while ive been looping the killer the past few gens Bait the killer over to the gen im working on injured because you dropped all he pallets the first minute of the game.. The list goes on. Survivors are the deadliest killers. .

All three of the Killers you mentioned are fine and don't need nerfs. If you aren't asleep, then Freddy is a M1 Killer with no chase ability. Billy is only really powerful when caught out of the open. Ghostface just needs bug fixing. The detection is bad on his side and the Survivors' side.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1036895#Comment_1036895
Remove Freddy's pallets? LOOOL You have to be kidding me right now. His pallets are easily counterable by dropping them early and running through them. They have no collision, unlike regular pallets. If he's using them, then it means he can easily be turned into a powerless Killer if you loop him at the right area.
His pallet are really only good for memeing. Snares are bae. Even if you are not in dream world, ill land that one hit and then your looping is done.

Me? Experience points and the occasional cosmetic.
I used to spend them on characters (bought the Spirit and Doctor packs with shards, the rest with money) but since I have everything, I just wait for perks that show up for the first time for more experience points. (2700 shards for 250,000 points VS 2000 shards for 150,000 for perks that have been on there before.. so basically 35% more shards for 66% more points)
150,000 bloodpoints is less then an hour of grinding playing killer running only BBQ, no offerings. Typically 4 matches an hour at roughly 600 exp per match, taking 4200xp for 300 shards at max shard per level. Meaning it takes over 11 hours of grinding to earn 2000 shards, while it takes less then an hour to earn 150,000 bloodpoints. Its a built in gold sink.
-
@Marcavecunc said:
Sadly they're in it to make money. They did put the characters on sale at 30% off in the in-game store if you buy them with Auric cells, and their associated perks are in the shrine.
Sadly? The ######### kind of sentiment is that, of course they are in it to make money, they can not operate without cash flow. The characters that are in rift challenges are non-licensed and can be purchased with in-game currency. Furthermore the challenges are optional to complete the rift. They put the perks in the shrine for the same reason why the characters are non-licensed, so over the 70 day period when the rift is open, players who don't currently own the characters can acquire them via in-game currency or through real money transaction.
Its not like they are charging you to play the base game nor the additional content added with the rift. If you are new to the game, you are joining a game four years into its post release cycle, without an influx of cash the game would not have the support it does now. You are going to have to grind or purchase the additional content to fully realize the endgame.
-
Removing SWF would kill this game. People want to play with their friends if they have friends that like playing this game. The just need to balance this game around actual competent players both survivor and killer, rather than balancing to the lowest common denominator i.e. potatoes.

It's a combination of factors. Self-Care being so highly used isn't a big deal, because it's not breaking anything. But Ruin being so highly used was more of an issue because of its warping effect on the entire game experience.
Yeah, rank 20 survivors learning the games mechanics before they get their shiny rank 1 badge two days later. Oh wait....
-
@Almo said:
Self-Care is far and away the most commonly used Survivor perk. Dead Hard is common, but it does not appear to be in an unhealthy position.
And let them keep self healing off in a corner for half the match so they never touch a gen before they get killed. Solo queuing needs some form of self heal, and the more time players spend self healing the more time the killer has, so self care is one of the best perks for killers.
Now if you wanna talk about Adrenaline and the abusable nature of running DS, BT, Adrenaline, and OoO. Then we would have a real discussion about balance.

I’ve been playing solo a lot recently and you lose game after game after hame after game after game. I have to put in so much effort, come top of the scoreboard everytime but can not carry my team of numpties to victory.
Do you see me complaining? Or asking for buff after buff? Or nerf after nerf after nerf?
No I suck it up and deal with it.
Killers are fine right now. I play solo and the chance of escaping is about 10%. I play killer against red ranks and I can still do ok. Win most games and normally guaranteed 2k minimum.
Sure 4 people all on comms can be annoying on some maps but by and large most survivors groups are fine.
You lose during a solo queue mostly because of what the other survivors do. It is the failure of a ranking system that lets potatoes pip so easily and to some degree the archive for challenges that require farming of teammates. Most red ranks survivors still dont know how to deal with the Hag, Freddy, or new Doctor.

For that you can wait long because Sony doesn’t allow CrossPlay between Xbox and their own console (PS4). And they are never going to allow it, because they want to make money (friends have PS4, you have Xbox and buy PS4 because you want to play with them) 😂
They lose money on the actual system until well into the planned lifespan of the system. They want you to buy the game and other accessories for their console. Not to mention it provides no incentive to, they have to provide service for something that will provide no ROI.

Red ranks. You can 'juke' all you want with the 360s doesn't stop the inevitable.
That clips just shows how fluid his demon dash is and something Billy can never replicate on indoors maps I could switch targets if I wanted and continue roaming the map without stopping then make a wide turn until I spot the next guy in an awful spot.
Oh for sure, hes much more fluid than billy while using his power. But even in your clip Oni is severely punished by clipping terrain while going for the strike. If even one of them turned and dead hard or just juked on you, your chase would have been lost. Or if they were an swf and communicated agro swaps, Oni is still prone to being an M1 killer with occasional use of his power. Its not so much his dash that limits, its his strike on indoor maps, less so on the game as its more open.
