Simple. Frenzy used to remove 10 seconds from the timer per hit and would take exactly 3 hits (for a total of 4 including the initial hit to apply it) to fully deplete the timer. That's 30 seconds total.

Yes, but we don't really know if they changed the timer or not since his nerf.

It's not really easy to tell the exact time anymore... since all these conditions make getting downed by Feral Frenzy almost impossible.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    30 seconds for Legion

    20 seconds for Borrowed Time

Where does it say it's 30 seconds, I can't find that info on the DBD wiki or any video.

  • @Shadowporn

The bans gradually increase each time you DC, so by knowing this you can still be banned for quite awhile if you DC enough...

This new DC penalty system was added to counter the constant DCing that people would do... they would DC in "moderation" to avoid the game bans and than not DC for a period of time before doing it again with no downside.

Now, if you DC you'll be given a timer in-game to wait and if you continue to do so you'll be given a very long matchmaking ban because of this, I'm sure the old system still applies when it comes to too many DCs. But I do know for sure the matchmaking bans get longer and longer, the more you DC.

  • @neoncatjacky

If you mean the current bleed out timer... than it honestly depends if your Terror Radius is far away for the timer to go off...

Even than, most Survivors outside or even inside of your Terror Radius will mend... so it doesn't really matter if the threat of being downed by the timer doesn't exist anymore.

But, for the sake of the question, i'll give you my analysis on this. For one, there isn't a set time until you bleed out from the mend progress... mostly because it's nearly impossible for someone to be downed by the deep would timer because of these new requirements The Legion must follow.

I say nearly impossible because if the Killer leaves them and comes back to down them regularly... than you can count that as "The deep wound effect doing its job." But, it's safe to say the effect is fairly tame and not even threatening compared to it's original debut.

but, lets not drag this along any further

The point is, it's very hard to know if the timer was increased or decreased because of these new changes... as such, I couldn't find any info on how long the timer would take... mainly because it's very hard to be downed by the effect in-general now.

It takes about 20 second to mend with Borrowed time tier lll... and the deep wound effect took around that long minus a few seconds from the first hit on pre-patch legion... so I wanna say like 17-16 seconds?

  • @WalkenMurray

The Shrine of Secrets is entirely random, so perks like Nurse's, BBQ, Ruin, Etc... might not come to the shrine for awhile for example, due to so many perks being in the game now.

It might not even be those specific perks that don't come around often... you might not see perks like Blood Warden or Decisive Strike show up to the Shrine for ages!

It's entirely random, no perk is singled out because it's meta or weak.

  • @DaeTheKnight said:

There is nothing "balanced" about myers tombstone. Once a killer selects this it is guaranteed that survivors will have zero opportunity to gain altruistic points.

I thought for the sake of consistency, every killer would have a super powered add-on but clearly they won't.

I'll accept your answer that it's not meant to be taken as competitive. However the word "party" is more like meme than competition. I guess this really is supposed to be a survivor sided game.

    Thanks.

Also, what is this talk of a roster? Is there a graph somewhere that shows the win/loss ratio with each killer with all matches taken into consideration? If so I'd love to see it.

I didn't say tombstone was balanced, neither are mori's in-general.

When I say "party game" it's not directly considered to be a meme... like for example... a party game has you facing off against other players for just pure enjoyment or progression in the game even... like DBD.

If this was a meme game, than things wouldn't be so consistently changed or cared about. This isn't a meme game.

Also, when I say "Roster" I mean the cast of Killers or Survivors you have at your disposal. I didn't mean it as a cod style stat board or anything.

  • @MegaGamer_01

It was changed due to the perk being abused at loops with windows that dropped off... so Haddonfields window loop, Iron works window loop + the drop down, Crotus prenn... were a big issue if someone had Balanced Landing.

Now they can no longer ALMOST infinite Killers... especially Killers like Huntress that could literally do nothing against this...

  • @LordRegal

Also, this is in the news for every new PTB that's made.

    PTB memes.png

So i'm not just talking non-sense when I tell you that stuff above...

  • @LordRegal

The progress when gaining shards/Blood points is the same in the PTB and LIVE... the only difference is that all progress you do in the PTB will not follow you into LIVE.

The PTB also works off of an older save state from LIVE itself... so when you access the PTB, you might notice some things from the past that are not leveled up for example.

You shouldn't be afraid at all about loss of progress in the PTB... because there is no loss of progress when using auric cells/shards/blood-points in the PTB and going back to LIVE without them... it doesn't work that way.

When The Archives PTB was out, you could use any Auric Cells you had + 2k they gave on The Rift in the PTB... once we went back to the LIVE version without The Archives (At the time) we didn't gain any Auric Cells or lost them as well.

    basically

Using a BPS/Pudding as a Killer with BBQ in the PTB won't give you anymore blood points than if you did this in LIVE... it's the same exact amount you'd get from say... a 31k perfect game.

And, no Auric Cells/Shards/Blood Points are lost in the PTB if used... nothing transfers from the PTB to the LIVE version.

  • @MegaGamer_01

    "Ah, WHAT NOW!"

Ash definitely has the strangest quotes that this games ever seen...

    For sure...

  • @Bloodwidow

Licensing issues mostly... they only recently got original costume he wears in the movies as an alternate skin... so there might be hope for a Survivor being added as well.

It's because of licensing issues that doesn't allow them to do that at the moment... or similar situations with maps they can't add as well. They can always add them in when they get the license for them... but when he came out they only really had the license for the mask and that was it.

If they could get the original costume as an alternate skin on the shop... than there might be hope for the Survivor/Map being added in as well! Of course, take what I said with a grain of salt... it can or can't happen, only time will tell.

  • @Dragon_of_Fantasy

The Dead by Daylight team would like your feedback in a Player Satisfaction survey

Here's the Survey monkey link that the news section provides in the PTB.

  • @Revansith

Skill checks are kind of connection based...

But the specs could also play a part in it... it really depends on how good or bad the specs are. You also don't need a high end computer to run DBD, even at the best graphics.

This Laptop sounds pretty solid tbh, 4 GBs of ram is decent as well... and since this isn't like... a top end triple AAA title that requires an intense amount of graphics and ram to process... than it should be fine for you to use.

I'm not a tech wizard though, so anyone can honestly say otherwise... this is just personal preference i'm going off of here. Maybe someone else could give you more info on this if they stop by.

  • @smallfry05

Sounds like a connection error with the current patch perhaps... or you last friend is having connections issues.

If it's anyone who joins as the last person... and it could just be SWFs acting up in-general. If you think this is a issue, than you can contact support by submitting a ticket and let them know.

Maybe you'll even get some answers on how to fix it, who knows.

They are referring to the Nemesis perk interaction with deep wounds. Some have said that when Nemesis procs the Deep Wound timer will start counting down due to the Oblivious status effect being applied to the survivor. I've seen conflicting reports though so I can't confirm. Even if it does work I don't think it is anything to get excited about.

I'll look into it, but the PTB is kinda dead atm.

  • @Prince0001

1.) No, Freddy still gives off a Lullaby despite the perks power giving Survivors the oblivious status effect... Freddy by default gives the oblivious status effect to Survivors... so stacking oblivious with oblivious doesn't do anything in his dream state.

2.) Your 2nd question doesn't make sense i'm afraid... So I can't really answer that one.

Here's a screenshot. The killer got flamed in the chat for abusing exploits. Her hand literally goes through the fence when she is throwing the hatchet.

Yikes, I wasn't talking about those fences, I was talking about the fences on Haddonfield...

This is definitely an exploit or hack of some kind. You should take this to support and provide a detailed report and evidence. (This image is good, but an image after the hatchet being thrown and downing you would solidify this.)

The reason I know this isn't intentional is because those fences have collision to basic hits and even billies chainsaw... so this shouldn't be possible for hatchets to phase right through them.

    So to be 100% clear:

Player 1 has Kindred, Player 2, 3, and 4 do not.

    Player 1 gets hooked.

Player 2, 3, and 4 get the Kindred effect.

    Later, Player 2 gets hooked.

    player 1 gets Kindred.

Players 3 and 4 do not.

    @LordRegal

    Yes, that's 100% correct.

I hope so! It happens once in a blue moon but I'd be frustrated either way.

What do you mean by suicide by hook? as in not struggling?

Suicide by hook means they died on their first hook instead of DCing...

It's considered to be the same thing, to die on your first hook intentionally or to DC by leaving the match.

  • @SolarFoxVB

Glad you were able to find it yourself, it's more accessible that way.

  • @arslaN

Hatchets will pass through any reasonably sized hole that's available for some reason... so holes through fences work because basic attacks at fences also work for some reason...

    It isn't a glitch.

  • @MissBehavingX

They're able to monitor who DCing intentionally and unintentionally.

Soon they'll be able to monitor suicide by hook as well, if they haven't already. People who crash because of bad internet or something similar won't really be effected by this change... since they'll know if you left the match or your internet just died on you.

  • @marvelmovie

The PTB is happening right now btw, 11/19/2019.

    Just an FYI.

  • @DaeTheKnight

Dead by Daylight is a asymmetrical 4 v 1 horror game... BHVR has no intentions of turning it into a competitive multi-player game or a "meme game." DBD is by all means a party game that focuses on pinning you against 1 Killer or 4 Survivors...

These changes to Spirit, Nurse, and other such things have strictly been to balance the meta and roster out...

If you'd like the official road map (Which is about to come to an end soon...) i'll give you the image here.

    image.png

This is the official road map from when the 3rd Year Anniversary live-stream/event dropped... you can see that we're about to hit Chapter 14 soon with the release of the new killer "The Oni." Soon after other things on the list are being scheduled... and more...

  • @TheHourMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/844327#Comment_844327

PTB almost always comes out 5 days after the first teaser trailor. This time it didn't. Sometimes it doesn't stick to the same schedule.

Full chapter comes out 14 days after PTB launches if all goes smoothly.

Not everything happens the same way, but if things does go smoothly, than we should see it around that time.

  • @Whomst

This only applies to the Z Block add-on... since the other add-ons don't linger their bleeding effects on a Survivor that's healthy. Some of the blocks also only give the hemorrhaging effect... others only cause blindness.

Anyways, it says it causes bleeding if the Survivor is healthy for the duration of the hemorrhage status effect... The hemorrhaging status effect only makes blood trails more visible to the Killer... so that means it only makes a Survivor continuously bleed on the ground until the blocks effects are finished.

So no, it doesn't make a Survivor groan in pain for the duration of the effect... the effect never did that in the first place.

  • @MegaGamer_01

Well, Nurse without blinks will get you instantly bullied because of her insanely slow base speed... and Billy without a chainsaw is just a basic M1 Killer without a power... so basically you'll be playing Wraith!

So... i'd pick Billy. Nurse without a blink is like playing with handcuffs on...

  • @LordZhe said:

Not only your own sacrifice counts, but for all 3 survivors too. You can play Survivor and if you and your 3 little buddies get sacrificed too, it will counts towards this mission. So its bugged, since you were the one that should be sacrificing survivors playing as Killer.

    Oh...

    :i

    I see...

  • Interesting...

I guess self sacrifice counts as... a sacrifice? But a EGC sacrifice does not.

    o...k...

  • @MegaGamer_01 said:

It makes no sense to add him as his thing is to stand still when you look at him and he kills you after a little bit off time so its less likley

They'd also have to make the Survivors go into 1st person to make this work... which is a whole other issue to code...

It's too much of a hassle tbh... plus I highly doubt they'd add a creepy pasta into this game...

  • @Micheal_Myers

His best build is Ruin, Nurse's Calling, BBQ & Chili, and Monitor & Abuse.

Ruin is to slow the game down at the start so you can get out of Tier l... plus it's Ruin so... yeah...

Nurse's Calling is used to see any Survivors auras within 24 meters of Myers. This is great on Myers since his Terror radius will be basically 8 due to Monitor & Abuse... so if anyone is healing nearby and doesn't know you're there, than it's an easy down.

BBQ & Chili is to tracker where Survivors are to gain an advantage on your stalking... it's also good for tracking them in-general so you can down them and gain a 100% BP boost after hooking all 4 Survivors.

Last is Monitor & Abuse, this perk is the most important of the three on Myers, this is due to how the perk reduced his already small Terror Radius by 8 when not in a chase. In Tier l his Terror Radius is 0 because of M&A and in-general it's 0 now because of the undetectable status effect, in Tier ll it's reduced to 8 instead of 16, and in Tier lll it's 24 instead of 32.

This perk is important because Myers spends most his time in Tier ll within the trial... so it's good that his Terror Radius is basically almost 0... since 8 isn't that big of a Terror Radius and requires the Survivors to be REALLY close to hear it.

This is his standard build, and it's one of his BEST builds for various reasons. The issue here is you don't have Hags teachables or LeatherFaces... so you can't use Ruin or BBQ.

Your best option is to substitute Ruin with Corrupt Intervention, and use something like... Whispers I guess instead of BBQ. Corrupt is considered better or worse than Ruin, and Whispers requires a lot of attention to your surroundings and in view of the perk as well to know if anyone is near you.

You can also switch Whispers for like... Brutal Strength or Enduring... or something at least.

  • @Asegbloodtears

All the Survivors had No Mither, No Mither allows a Survivor to go into the trial with the broken status effect. This effect lasts for the entire trial because No Mither put that effect on the Survivor... and it doesn't come off unless you remove the perk.

No Mither does put you in the injured state with the broken status effect, but it also allows a Survivor to fully heal off the floor from the downed state and get up... and their "groans of pain" are reduced.

There is no other way they started out in the game while injured with the broken status effect... unless they used that perk.

Yep, that's what I said. People don't use Spine Chill because they don't recognize its value.

Which is rather unfortunate. Casual players would benefit more from Spine Chill than perks like Adrenaline or Iron Will.

Right, but it is how it is I suppose.

true, this community is more about toxic bullying than fun. Sometimes I find it hilarious though, but it's usually problematic. I find myself being more objectively "toxic" due to the tomes and try to apologize to my teammates for my behavior. I've had to just absolutely slaughter people mercilessly playing killer and have had to just hook farm people for tomes.

Understandable, they are challenges after all and require you to do unorthodox things to complete them.

But I don't think being toxic is the way to go on anything... and you shouldn't fall prey to the toxicity of others, than the cycle continues. Not everyone acts this way either, I've met a lot of nice and level headed people in this community as well.

You just have to find them.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/844321#Comment_844321

It's a niche perk because a lot of people don't understand its value. Many of these survivor players are casuals and they get a lot of their info from twitch streamers, most of whom don't use the perk.

If we're talking about the most meta perks, then I would argue those perks are DS and BT. The third perk slot is usually dedicated to an exhaustion perk. The fourth perk is basically the free slot.

Most meta builds revolve around BT, Balanced Landing/Sprint Burst/Dead Hard, Self Care/Adrenaline, and DS/Iron Will/We'll Make It. (Insert other meta perks I didn't list. A few are based on opinion also...)

It's true that a lot of people don't know Spine chills real worth, but that's kind of what it boils down it... they don't know or they don't think it's worth using over the perks above.

  • @uncle_zhuge

1.) Any cosmetics in The Rift will eventually make their way to the store after that Rift has closed for awhile.

2.) Each tome will still be there for you to complete if you decide to save them for another Rift or something...

Spine Chill is a meta perk. I think a lot of survivors watch survivor-main steamers and they notice that these guys don't use Spine Chill much (because they're god loopers, so they don't need it).

In comparison to the rest of the meta perks it's fairly niche, that's why it's used a lot less than the others.

It doesn't give immediate benefits like Adrenaline, Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, Sprint Burst, Self Care, etc do... It only gives benefits if the Killer is looking in your direction... so if say they get to you right when you're starting on a gate or a generator... than it's not useful until they get off you.

That doesn't mean it's useless, far from it, it just isn't above the most used meta perks. It's only a detection perk after all.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/844301#Comment_844301

Currently I'm at tier 20 and only 30% done with tome II — should I speed things up or am I going at the correct speed?

The only real way to get around where I am is to just normally play matches and do well. You can be a Survivor or Killer it doesn't matter, as long as you get the required EXP to get 1 Rift Fragment per 800 EXP, than you'll eventually get there.

The Tome parts only give so much, they don't really add up enough to get you to 70 tiers on The Rift... it honestly depends if you also play matches a lot or decently after you've completed each part of Tome l.

Basically, you have about like what... 51 days left to get to Tier 70? And if you're at 30% of part 2 and you're tier 20... than i'd say if you just play casually or a lot after each new part is done... than you'll get to Tier 70 with a few weeks to spare.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

I think many survivors believe Spine Chill is overrated.

If you're a god tier looper, then yeah it probably is.

It's more-so cause of the meta tbh.

  • @JiggleWiggle

What Aven said, a killing a Survivor through mori'ing them with Devour Hope, an Ebony/Ivory/Cypress mori, or Spirits perk "Rancor" is not classified as a Sacrifice... it's classified as killing them.

You can only gain points towards this challenge by sacrificing Survivors on the hook, and ONLY on the hook. The EGC sacrifice doesn't count... trust me... I thought it would when someone died to it in-game during the challenge and it didn't count either.

Unless you sacrifice them by normally hooking them into the 3rd hook state... than nothing else you do will count towards it. If the challenge said "Kill 13 Survivors by any means" than that means you could mori them and it would count... but it doesn't say that, its asking you to sacrifice 13 Survivors.

  • @NMCKE

The Rift ends when you complete all tiers up until 70. Once you hit Tier 70, The Rift is officially complete and you'll have to wait for the next one to gain new rewards.

Right now i'm at Tier 40 and i'm almost done with Pt.2 of Tome l. I could be at 60 or 50 if I played constantly since The Archives came out, but I haven't played DBD constantly in months... it's either from a lack of motivation or to keep the longevity going for me.

But besides myself, you complete it at Tier 70 and that's about it afterwards... judging from how the average player would play a few matches after their Part of Tome l is complete... you should hit like... Tier 50 (Which is around where all the serums are finished being collected) in say... 3 weeks if you're casually doing it?

If you do it like most of the day than you can do that in half the time.. it might even take 4 weeks casually, the math really depends on the player themselves. But to be honest, each new Rift gives about 2 months+ to complete... so that's WAY MORE than enough time to complete it... even if you're casually doing it from the start.

Even if you start from right now mid-way through Pt.2s release... you could still hit Tier 70 on The Rift if you keep it up... slightly more than casually... but it can still be done.

1 … 59 60 61 62 63 … 129
