It happens to me every almost every game. But it gets very confusing because one moment the survivor doesn’t emit any type of noise, but the next time I chase them I can hear their moans. It’s a constant on and off and it’s making playing Spirit kind of confusing since she relies on sound.

Thank you so much for your help! I will check the bug forums.

Sometimes when you're playing a Killer and there's an issue, that issue will "appear more often" as a result. I'm not saying this might be your imagination because you've experienced it so many times before, but I am saying that it might appear that way than it actually is sometimes.

Regardless, there isn't much you can do about it at this time, you'll have to just go through the proper channels I linked above and hope for the best. I do hope your problem is resolved one day.

No no no I had meant you’d get banned on here for calling someone that but you’d get a report for calling someone that after game on pc, consoles etc, I had misworded a lot of stuff and left some out, my apologies.

I don't know if you'd get banned for that on the forums, it's not bypassing the filter to still show the intended word, it's still censored regardless. But again, my opinion VS how it would actually be handled. And yeah, the rest applies to what I said above for post-chat conversations.

Basically, I don't know how they'd handle both those senarios, but that's my opinion on both of them from my perspective.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/141067/how-close-do-you-need-to-be-to-a-hook-to-be-called-a-facecamping-b

I mean I wouldn’t call them a that word maybe just, respond saying why are you face camping? Cause saying the other word will get you banned or reported, also it is a really offensive and disrespectful thing to say to someone. I wouldn’t say it if I were you.

To clarify this is my opinion on this reply, it's not a fact about what would happen in this scenario.

Harassment is not ok, that's why it's reportable, but saying you'd get banned for that one comment is a stretch... At least in my eyes anyways. I don't run the Support Team so I wouldn't know how serious a report on that word alone would be, but if the harassment continued than that's a different story.

A rude comment is one thing, but if they continuously harassed him afterwards than that's entirely different.

    Also please note...

I don't condone any harassment in-game or outside of the game itself, i'm not siding with the players comment towards the OP either, it's just my opinion on your reply and that's all. What WOULD actually happen could be entirely different from what I said above, so please keep that in-mind.

  • @AlexnotTozic

It's honestly up to personal preference on what maps should be reworked, when or how they'll be reworked is another discussion entirely. In my opinion though, i'd agree that Haddonfield should definitely see some changes to adjust with the new direction DBD is taking with the looping system.

It probably will already see updates with the Wall Breaker mechanic (when that's fully implemented), but besides that I'd like to see it get a new coat of paint to freshen up the overall design of the map.

Unfortunately sounds in-game, especially for Survivors when playing as the Killer, are a bit buggy at the moment in some areas. This doesn't happen ALL the time, in-fact it's quite rare if you play a lot, but it still happens from time to time. The issue sticks out the most because this game is very dependent on sounds (especially as the Killer), so you'll naturally notice an issue when you suddenly stop hearing a Survivor mid-chase around a high-walled loop.

Many players have already reported sound issues in-game, and BHVR is well aware of this issue as well, but you can always report it to the Bug Report sub-forum OR find a report on the Bug Report sub-forum and support it. If you're interested, than I can link you to it below.

As for what you can do about it, there isn't really much you CAN do about it... It's just something that happens in-game, but it's not as common as some players make it out to be. Some players get it MORE than others, while other players (like me) rarely have that issue happen at all during a long session. It really depends to be honest.

My opinion on what happened + information on what to do next

So as the title suggests, I'll be sprinkling in my opinion and other bits of information you might want to read. For one, they were clearly breaking not just the rules about Griefing, which is teaming with the Killer or gain an advantage or grief teammates, but they were also fully aware of this and still did it anyways regardless, probably because they never thought one of the "two randoms" would go on their stream and actually follow through with a report.

If you were wondering what else you could do, you pretty much did the most important steps of the "reporting process" already. If you'd like to follow up with that report with some substantial evidence to boot, than you can submit a support ticket with said evidence in the write up. I'm not the person to say IF they're for sure guilty, but the Support Team definitely is team you should bring this to. In my opinion they were clearly in the wrong and for sure broke the Griefing rule, but as the warning above suggests... That's just my opinion. You could also argue that they were specifically targeting you and the other random to get you out of the game WITH the Killers help, but that's something you can discuss with the Support Team.

Besides all that though, all you really need to do is file a support ticket on-top of your in-game reports and you're all set. If you didn't report them in-game, which from what i'm reading you did, than you obviously can't follow up on it if you didn't. But you did, so you should be good to go in that regard.

  • @Chan_002

No, you won't be banned for not helping your teammates. It's your choice to play a selfish or altruistic play-style, as long as you do your main objective than you're fine. You can help everyone in-game or help no one in-game, that's your choice and yours alone.

  • @Boddy604

You can try something like Overcharge, Corrupt Intervention, Pop Goes the weasel, and Distressing.

You said you liked Overcharge a bit more than Ruin, so using it WITH a good combo like Corrupt + Pop and you'll be making some good use out of it. If you're going for a more "skill-check oriented" build, than switch Pop out for Unnerving Presence, that'll help you boost the difficulty of Skill-checks while also combining with overcharges skill-checks and Distressings range.

Distressing is also good for boosting your Static Blasts range, so that's another reason to add that perk to your arsenal. As for Corrupt, it's just used to prevent any early gen-rushing when the game starts, it's a good early game boost for M1 Killers.

    It only lasted 2 times

It usually was allways before a chapter soo users would spend shards on cosmetics, soo they would have to buy the dlc with money

kinda genius tactic if you ask me

i think they only did with the clown collection and the spirit collection, I don't remember if they did with the plague collection

I've also never seen that happen before, probably either because I wasn't paying attention, didn't like the skin for my person preference, or didn't expect that to happen with a new skin release.

I feel like I might've seen if happen once, but asking me to remember that is too much effort.

  • @Ahmeddido123

The map that The Deathslinger comes with is called the Dead Dawg Saloon, this map is from the "Grave of Glendale" map category. The map offering associated with it is called the "Dusty Noose" offering.

  • @olluscjacobus

I'll just add this here below, whether it's needed or not is up to... someone.

    • [Default spawn-rate] (4 Jigsaw boxes will spawn with NO add-ons.)
    • [Default + Jigsaw's Sketch/Jigsaw's Annotated Plan] (5 Jigsaw boxes will spawn when using the "Jigsaw's Annotated Plan" OR "Jigsaw's Sketch" add-on.)
    • [Default + Jigsaw's Sketch + Jigsaw's Annotated Plan] (6 Jigsaw boxes will spawn when using both the "Jigsaw's Annotated Plan" and "Jigsaw's Sketch" add-ons. This is the max number of Jigsaw boxes that can spawn in-game when using add-ons.)
    • [Default + Amanda's Letter] (2 Jigsaw boxes will spawn when using the "Amanda's Letter" add-on. This is the lowest number of Jigsaw boxes that can spawn in-game when using add-ons.)
  • @blackmourning

If the suggestion above didn't work than you can try submitting a Bug Report to the Bug Report sub-forum. Besides that, that's the best advice I can give for this question unfortunately.

Keep in mind that if you do submit a Bug Report than please review the page before doing so. This keeps clutter from forming in the sub-forum if another post has already mentioned this issue. If there's an existing post on this issue, than please up-vote it and comment if you wish to support it.

  • @Pumpkaboos

Everything you do in-game is account bound. Buying skins, your save-file, your progress, everything. If something ties to your DBD account, it's linked to your PSN. This means DLC too since DLC attaches itself to your PSN once bought, it isn't stored on the PS4 itself.

As for The Rift itself, you have about 70 or so days to complete it, so you should have enough time to get back on. But then again, I don't know what your situation is, so you'll have to wait and see.

    Fair enough! Thank you both.

Oddly enough, this is on PC. I was just wondering about the issue from other user's perspectives since I noticed that at times I will experience frame drops, but it'll smooth itself out afterwards. My computer can handle DBD quite well as well, which is even more strange.

That's alright, none of us are perfect! I'm sure everyone around here appreciates the effort you put into trying to help people regardless 😊 As for the GeForce thing, the software is made by NVIDIA, so I guess it makes sense that it would only be compatible with their hardware. That being said, GeForce GPUs are very common, so it's not an unreasonable expectation that the majority of people would have access to the software.

    Thank you!

And yeah, it's not an unreasonable expectation for those who do own the software, for others who don't it get dicey from there. Unfortunately there isn't much else I can add to this question besides what I'm aware of, so hopefully someone else can help the OP out with that, maybe on the technical support sub-forum if they're desperate for some advice on that.

I think "most people" is a bit of a presumption and probably more people use alternatives than you're giving them credit for, but that's neither here nor there as far as this discussion goes. Point is, there are a bunch of possibilities as to what the video might have been recorded in, and we'll need more information before we can answer the question properly.

Well I say "most people" from what I've seen, whether that's true or not is not really my point, my point is that it's a more common game recording software that's easily accessible for those who own a NVIDIA graphics card.

As far as players that don't though, i'm not really familiar with other recording software to speak of, so I guess i'm not qualified to bother with this question as a result. My original understand was that Geforce Experience can be used by everyone, but limiting it to only those with a specific graphics card is something I didn't expect.

Sometimes a question looks easy enough to answer at first glance, but you've known me long enough to know that I sometimes forget about other possibilities as well when a question comes up. I don't do it as often anymore, but it sometimes happens still.

  • @Fibijean said:

It's worth noting that GeForce Experience (I believe) only works with NVIDIA graphics cards. OBS is a popular alternative. Regardless, if you're using a recording software, usually it will have an option in the program to view the folder where your files are saved. By default, OBS saves to the Videos folder on your computer.

If you're on console, the procedure is completely different again. So in order for us to give you more relevant advice, you'll need to let us know your platform and, if you're on PC, what software you used to record the video 😊

I wasn't aware that Geforce Experience only responds to NVIDIA graphics cards, somewhat of a foresight if you ask me.

Regardless, the recording software most people use is Geforce Experience, anything else would require a bit more digging to use as an alternative. As for Console, that's and entirely different process which I personally don't have any information on (since I don't play the console version OR play console in-general anymore).

  • @brockly1

They made a sub-forum to exclusively report this issue, but besides that, they're still trying to fix it at this time. Issues like these should be ironed out when they fully release the new matchmaking/rank system, but that won't be for some time.

if you have any issues to report when regarding the rank update error, than please use the link below

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/DPP_RankUpdateError

  • @Skittlesthehusky

These issues are more prominent on Console than they're on PC. I don't know which platform you play on, but if it's on Console than this is fairly common for older model PS4's, Xboxs, and even newer model ones as well. It's not ALWAYS an issue, but we do get these types of questions sometimes, and it seems to mostly come from Console players if my memory is correct.

If you're on PC and you're experiencing these issues, than it could possible be from how your PC is built and what it can handle, if you're on Console than this issue is a bit more common than you'd think it is. You can report it to the Bug Report sub-forum if you'd like, but it's not so much a bug when you look into it, it's just how much the Console can handle and what maps and features are optimized for that platform.

I personally don't experience any lag or frame-drops in-game. I used to when my internet was REALLY bad, but when it was fixed I barely experienced any lag in-game, if any at all.

  • @SkittyChips

With all that being said above, if you have trouble looping or using the basic tiles that spawn in most maps than I suggest you watch this video below to give you a better understanding of how to effectively use these loops.

Here's the video I recommend you watch about loops and basic tiles

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6QYjInzLeM

    [SIDE-NOTE]

Some of the maps in this video have been reworked, or don't show these basic tiles in them. Newer maps such as Hawkins National Laboratory, Sanctum of Wrath, and Dead Dawg Saloon are also not present in this video. This video goes over several basic tiles that still exist in Dead By Daylights most prominent maps, any and all information from this guide is still useful for review. Please keep in mind that this video goes over the most common tiles that you'll find in Dead By Daylight, it's not a review about the maps themselves.

  • @TheDocIsIn04

The term "facecamping" has changed it's meaning over the course of a few years. Previously, if my information is correct, the term literally meant it's namesake where Killers would stand right where the Survivor is facing to prevent Survivors from unhooking them. From what I could gather, you couldn't unhook someone from an angle back in 2016, so the term "facecamping" was created when Killers would do this to ensure a kill.

Now-a-days, the meaning behind the term "facecamping" has been diluted over the years. Now when you "facecamp" today, it means that the Killer is camping next to your hook within a few meters WITHOUT leaving the area for anything, a far-cry from the original meaning which literally had Killers stand in-front of the hooked Survivor.

Besides all this history... Whats the point?

The point is you're fine, you left the area to go patrol Generators but came back to possibly down the unhooker. It's the Survivors fault for still being there and not attempting to flee. You could argue that you tunneled them, but I feel if they left you wouldn't have bothered chasing them.

Some Killers will be nice and only slug them if this happened, but that's not an obligation on your part, it's a choice. So in my opinion, you didn't facecamp that Survivor since you left the area to do other things.

It depends on the recording software you're using. Most people use Geforce Shadowplay to record their videos, review them on the File Explorer tab, go to videos, and than go from there to find where the video was saved to. Mine are automatically saved into a self-generated folder called "Dead by Daylight", so that's most likely where your videos will end up.

After that, most people will upload their videos onto youtube, wait till the video is uploaded, grab the link to said video, and than copy and paste it in their comment (if they needed it for something). Some videos you can covert and compress in VLC Media Player (a default program in most computers) to reduce their size, but it's not really necessary if you're just going to upload the video and than delete the source file in your folder to free up space.

You can download Geforce Experience through their website, if you haven't already.

if I understood what you said, yes. Sneak peaking as survivor, which I think you mean using (or abusing) the 3rd person cam to see the killer during the chase, is a very common practice. there are many spots in the pre-set loops where you are pretty safe and you can view the killer, if you want I might tell you which one.

    @Kikki This^

All he's really doing is standing at safe corners to see where the Killer might go next, that's about it. You can use common sense to know when it's safe to do this, since a lot of loops, like the jungle gyms for example, have long walls that the Killer has to go around. All you have to do is stand at the far end of the corner of a loop and place your camera in the right position to view both angles.

It's not really a secret if you review his videos some more. An example of this is at 4:05 of the video you linked above, he stands at a point with both sides in view to know where the Killer might come out of. It's a pretty common practice, it's nothing new.

  • I believe it happens after the first 2 hotfixes of the new Chapter. By this I mean the chapter releases and than the mid-chapter happens AFTER 2 hotfixes come out. So as said above, probably around the end of April or early May.

Keep in mind that this is just speculation, please don't take it as a fact. I'm just going off of how the pas mid-chapters we released, that doesn't mean what I said above is true, it's just speculation.

at the moment cause of the sound issues where it works and sometimes doesnt in terms of survivors grunting and pain noises stridor is very weak but normallly it is just a increase of volume so survivors grunt and pains are louder.

The sound noises are not as prominent as some players make it out to be, but yes, this can still happen regardless of how often it occurs in-game.

But as you also said, if it was working as intended than it would only increase the noises for "Grunts of Pain" by 50% and overall breathing at 25% (This is Tier lll Stridor btw). This perk is only good for Killers that can down Survivors pretty quickly like The Spirit, The Nurse, The Oni, etc. But it's mostly used on The Spirit because of how her phase walking works.

  • @Kikki

Can you be more descriptive about what 'Sneak peaking what the Killer is doing during a chase" means?

Do you mean looking behind you while the Killer is chasing you? You can do that by switching which key is running away from the Killer while turning your camera towards them with the mouse. So to be more descriptive, you hold W to move forward in a chase when you're not looking at them, than you turn your camera around mid-chase while switching from the W key to the S key to keep moving in that direction AWAY from the killer.

If that's not what you mean, than please explain what you do mean.

It's just their own brand of a rarity scale, it's mostly to reflect how strong a perk might be in the eyes of the developers, or so I believe anyways. There could be no hidden meaning behind it either, you never know unless they tell us outright.

  • @piggwardd

There's a lot of answers above, so i'll just simplify it below.

No, there's no way to only get Survivor only Rituals in your Daily Rituals. Every new daily is RNG (Random Number Generation), which means it's 100% random for what your next daily will be, there is no guarantees to it.

It doesn't matter if you're injured, you can still loop a killer for several minutes (if you're good at that sort of thing). Having a Corrupt fountain allows The Plague to think more tactically now, rather than infecting everyone in the map and eliminating the use of her power for 90% of the remaining match.

BHVR doesn't nerf Killers because "some Survivors are too inexperienced to loop an M1 Killer". I don't understand where that keeps coming from.

i got the tunneling bit from when ds were mentioned

edit: just clicked lol, ds stands for dedicated servers not decisive strike

    oh my gosh! lmao

Simple mistake, that's why I sometimes say Dedicated Servers before I abbreviate it into DS's.

No, but it's supposed to close exactly 70 days after it opened, and according to both my memory and the official Twitter, the Rift opened at 11AM ET on January 22. I believe Peanits also confirmed on his stream the other day that there will be an hour countdown again.

Well that's good to know, I personally wouldn't because I finish long before this even happens.

  • You mean re-binding the key? I believe they did that already and it unfortunately didn't work.

Don't take that as shooting your idea down though, i'm just letting you know for context. Whether you care or not id up to you though.
