Did you try re-binding the struggle key? Or Uninstalling and Reinstalling the game? If you do the latter option than your save file will be fine, the save file itself is tied to your PSN, Steam account, Xbox Live account, etc.

God I hope so, it's so vague and everyone has a different answer. Did anyone from bhvr confirm?
We'll have to see what happens tomorrow.
My information could differ from where Fibijean got hers, so I don't really know which one is true at the moment. Before I even researched the answer I didn't know what to say since I've never sat at the end of a Rifts "life-span" to confirm if it does count down the hours and minutes. As for a official confirmation, I don't know the answer to that either. I could've been said somewhere when The Archives first released, but I never heard or payed mind to it, if it was said that is.
-
When The Rift says "1 day left" it usually means it ends on the next day, so it should end tomorrow. It unfortunately doesn't give a count-down for the hours and minutes, so it might come across as confusing at first.
-
It could be your connection with the Dedicated Servers and not your general connection to the internet. I'm no expert though, so i'm just going off of a possibility that I use when other players have a similar issue.
Usually a bad connection to the DS's could cause this, but it could be something else entirely. I suggest you take the link that Fibijean gave above and see if anyone there can help you. They're more knowledgeable about this stuff than Fibijean or I am.
here's the link again if you need it

I still see these things on PC, perhaps you're referring to the mobile version as Fibijean as stated above?
The mobile version sometimes leaves certain things out, i'm guessing these are some of them. Whether that's intentional or not is not something I would personally know at this time.

Are you still having an issue with this? If so, than please do let us know so we can try and resolve your issue.

hmm, i can't remenber a 100% now but i'm pretty sure the guy i did it too, i didn't tunnel. i'll keep this in mind and see how it goes if there's another time
Tunneling doesn't have anything to do with it, it's just an issue with the latency of the grabs in-game. This means it might look like you grabbed them on your screen, but on their screen they let go of the M1 button a bit before you attempted to grab them.
This can also happen when you both do it at the same time, the game can't handle it sometimes and it just gives a "false positive". Without sounding too confusing, it's basically still an issue and needs individual care to get fixed. When that is, I don't know.

i'll take your word for it then! i don't understand what rng stands for and i just can't get my head around it. if it's random, the odds are really high for this random to be landing the same place over and over again, hahaha!
i'm scared to use them again cos i'm actully trying to do the adept :(
but thank you for your answers!
As said above, whenever a system applies "RNG" to the table it's using a Random Number Generator. In a more basic explanation from above, it's a randomized system that determines your chances of getting a certain item, skin, whatever in-game.
That's why we keep saying "It's all up to RNG", we're basically telling you that it's 100% random. There is no guarantee for what might happen.

I don't use this add on as legion but i use the one on the wraith. I like it when I'm running it with PGTW.
That's probably the best way you can use it tbh, it's like Surveillance but only when the power is active like when Wraith is cloaked or Legion being in Feral Frenzy mode.

I just wanted to tell them how gens without and with progress look like.
Oh I know, i'm not saying your opinion was invalid or anything like that, I was just saying that the add-on itself has issues with discerning the auras from 80% to 90%.
That's why I don't use them personally, but others can use them if they get something out of it.

I only cleanse tactically, I don't cleanse where ever a fountain is available.
Why do I do this? Because cleansing at a fountain that's in the middle of the map is a great way for The Plague to get her "Super Vomit" power and instantly down anyone she comes across. I either cleanse at fountains that're extremely hard to get to, which also wastes time getting there, or when all the Generators are complete. In the case of the former, I cleanse when there's a few Generators left, not when 5 are still unfinished. This gives my teammates some time to complete the few remaining Generators while The Plague goes to the Corrupted Fountain that's in the corner of the map.
This is why you don't see The Plague immediately go to a Corrupt Fountain when it's available, they're either saving it OR it's too far to risk 1 or more Generators from being completed. I believe The Plague also has a default Corrupt Purge fountain in her base-kit now, so it really depends on the spawn of that fountain as well.
the point of my post above...
What i'm trying to say is that a lot of players don't cleanse so they can avoid giving The Plague a REALLY strong alternate power. That's why players like me try to cleanse when it's smart and not cleanse near a cluster of Generators that your team is trying to complete. Small things like that to avoid having multiple Survivors from being downed.
It's like The Oni's Blood Fury, just remove the mobility and add a string of vomit that injure anything it comes in contact with. In my opinion, ranged attacks can be a lot stronger than powers that have Insta-down capabilities... At least when used right.

By clicking the Epilogue Node, you'll gain 10 Rift Fragments and open the next level. You are still able to complete challenges you haven't complete and they'll award the same rewards.
That's only half true. You can always go back to previous challenges to get their rewards, but when The Rift that corresponds with that Tome ends... Than the Rift Fragments from those old challenges will not be awarded to the player anymore, only the Blood-Point reward remains. So yes, you'll get the same rewards UNTIL the next Rift is released. After that, you're only given the BPs as a reward for completing past challenges.
My best advice is to do all the challenges you can/want to and you'll gain a "Rift Fragment boost" to your total level of Tiers. Most of the Rift Fragments come from just playing the game and getting the 800XP bonus, so the challenges are just a way to boost your total Rift Fragments.

so what if it happened again and again and again? and don't see how it would be random if it did it again? if a dealer at a casino kept giving out the same winning card to one person that many times or more, would they say that was still random? 😃
Yes...

It's also worth mentioning that gens withour progress appear to be white and nearly done gens are almost fully red.
It's harder to discern a 80% gen from a 90% gen, that's kind of the main issue with gen aura reading add-ons.
I personally wouldn't use this add-on ever, but if anyone can make use of it... Than by all means use it!

Eh, if you're passionate enough about the game like I am it isn't that big of a problem. It made me get burned out a little faster because I spent around 500 - 800 hours on PS4 (It doesn't count hours) and another 100 on Xbox. But re-grinding and spending your bloodpoints a little more strategically is fun.
Unless you like grinding like I or you do, than no... It has nothing to do with being passionate about the game itself, it's more-so about the progress you have to leave behind to go to another platform, that's the main issue a lot of players have when they want to switch platforms.

I doubt running it as administrator will work as well. Usually 1 of 3 things solves it.
1.) Check key bindings and ensured they are enabled. If you are using the same key binding for a third party voice chat and the game, (I.e Discord, Teamspeak, etc.), switch it to something else.
2.) Run the game as administrator, won't really change much but it doesn't hurt to try.
3.) Uninstall and redownload the game.
Uninstalling and reinstalling is probably their best option to fixing this, especially since the key-bind suggestion didn't work.
If that STILL doesn't fix it, which I don't see how it wouldn't, than they should try asking support (if they haven't already above).

We have tried using the F key and scrolling the middle mouse button down, and he has died Phase 2 instantly no questions asked, no matter how fast or slow or soft or hard he presses the struggle button.
You can try running the game as administrator as Desh suggested above, but I don't feel like that'll do anything in my opinion. If all else fails, you can try asking him to submit a support ticket to the support team. I'm sure they'll be able to figure out the problem for him, and if not... Than I don't know what to tell you to be honest.
I don't really like dumping people on the support team when I don't have an answer, but I don't really see any other option for him to go to. He can see if his settings are off or something... Otherwise the key-bind change should've worked. Anyways, if you do decide to submit a support ticket than pick the "Other" option and fill out the form provided afterwards.
here's the link to the support team
-
The space bar key-bind for the struggle feature will sometimes not work when in use, so I advise you tell your friend to change the key-bind to something else. For my struggle key-bind I use the F key when Phase 2 is initiated. Give that a try and tell me if anything changes.

I believe that any item with add-ons will lose said add-ons no matter what, even if the item was fully used or not. The White Ward only protects the items and add-ons if you die, if you live than they're lost.
So think of it like this, the White Ward offering is just a safety net in the event that you die in-game with it in your possession. If you drop the item before you die, than the item and it's add-ons are lost.
The screenshot below shows that the offering only protects the item and add-ons upon death.
-
You should be getting both the Survival and bonus points when escaping through the hatch, so this does seem like a selective bug that's happening to you.
My best advice is to go on the Bug Report sub-forum and FIRST find if this issue has already been reported. If it has, than up vote the post and maybe write a comment after. If it hasn't been reported than please click the link in the purple box above and follow the instructions to fill out a bug report. The box you're looking for will be shown below.

The Deep Wound timer will deplete whenever you complete any action other than running.
Fun Fact: The timer will deplete when vaulting or throwing a pallet.
Odd how vaulting doesn't pause the timer, since players can debate that vaulting (I.E. Fast Vaulting) needs you to have a running start (most of the time).
-
No problem.
Fibijean already said what needed to be said, but personally I hope that we'll see more changes to the Deep Wound status effect. They're just making sure that the power isn't TOO OP but not too underwhelming as well.

I've never heard of an add-on combo deciding what maps you'll spawn in with, probably because that's not a thing...
As said above, you're just getting extremely unlucky with your map RNG, that's all there's to it. Map RNG is 100% random, unless you use an offering than any map could be selected during the Pre-Match loading screen. Sometimes a map shows up more when a new DLC is out, but that isn't 100% confirmed to be true...
If you want a specific map to use your combo with, than you'll either need to hope you get it OR use a map offering to get a 100% guaranteed spawn (if nobody else throws a map offering in the pool).

-
I don't think we're supposed to even know that, but I could be wrong. Unless a Mod/Dev comes in to say what time it's, than it's purely speculation from the player-base.
-
@Brenonon said:
Unfortunately not, you'll have to start over without any of your progress made on PS4. This isn't too big of a problem until you realize you have to re-buy all of the DLC's. As someone that switched from PS4 to Xbox to PC, I completely agree that it sucks, but until the developers add something it's what you have to do.
I think re-grinding all your perks, prestiges, etc would also pose a problem no...?
-
@Brenonon said:
The developers can be extremely inconsistent when it comes to item descriptions. As PigNRun said, they should stack unless it says otherwise, but this is BHVR we're talking about, so anything is possible.
I mean, it depends on what descriptions you're referencing.
Common sense would suggest that anything is stackable as long as it doesn't say it's not, but sometimes some add-ons/perks don't actually stack with each other... Albeit rare. It's interesting to note that MOST things that're NOT stackable will take priority over a perk/add-on with lesser percentages. So as my example above says, Shadowbornes FOV increase actually takes priority over M&As FOV increase. There's some weird stuff that happens when M&A's FOV increase does activate, but I haven't check what that was in awhile so...

I believe it's to prevent players from deranking to a rank they SHOULDN'T be at. This also stops more "skilled" Survivors from facing against Killers/Survivors that literally just bought the game.

well what ever the reason is, it has happened to me again, twice in the last week or so. what happened this time is killer looks like it's picked up surviver, you see an invisable blur where the survivor would be infront of chest, lifting over the shoulder, at the same time you can clearly see that the survivor wasn't picked and he's walking past you
Yes, the issue is still prominent right now, there isn't much you can do about it until it's fixed. It was discussed in another thread that that the issue stems from DS's, and it seems to be a separate issue that needs to be taken care of over time.

I hugely appreciate this response and the effort you put in to it, but I'm a very much so veteran player and none of this is news to me sadly. I don't want to resort to offerings, but I've done all of the things listed and then some with no luck lately. Again, huge thanks for the response but I don't think it's as simple as just playing killers right anymore, the game isn't in their hands quite as much.
I understand, especially with this meta it's hard to improve without suffering huge losses.
That doesn't mean you can improve by practicing with these Killers, you will eventually get there, it's just not as easy as it used to be... Especially when a perk like Ruin isn't able to help newer players out anymore. If you struggle with gen pressure in-general, or just learning the basics of each new Killer, than you should try using perks like Corrupt Intervention and Pop goes the Weasel to slow the game down as much as possible. This combo is pretty strong AND helps stave off early gen-rushing from the farthest gens in any map.
It's not a permanent fix to the issue, but it's an option for struggling Killers at this time. There are a lot of factors that determine how a match will go, these factors can range from maps and how they're designed, the gen spawns you get, The Killers power/mobility, and your skill vs the Survivor teams skill. Like take me for example, I use that combo because it's a strong combo for some of my Killers, but I don't use it ALL the time or for every Killer either! I use many different builds that're unique to my play-style and I've gotten used to how the meta is now.
You just need to adapt to these changes and get used to each new possible change that might come into the meta. That doesn't mean I 4k every game and i'm a "god tier Killer", it just means I got used to how the meta is and moved on from it. For me it didn't take long (not bragging), but for others it might take more time. I still do alright for myself and/or great, but every Killer eventually faces a loss or two. I can't say I've never lost in this new meta, but it's always good to improve and move forward!
As for SWFs or "coordinated teams", some teams are just naturally uber-optimized, so it's not an easy feat to face against a Survivor team that knows EVERY trick in the book. Killers rely on sizing up their opponents to guess what they're aware of or not. If they're new, they'll fall for more simple mind-games, if they're "pro" than they'll be harder to down DEPENDING on the Killer and your skill with said Killer. This is where a lot of M1 Killers falter, especially in bigger maps that spawn Generators far away. By the way, not every team is a 4 man god tier Survivor team, i'm just speaking about rare occurrences when this does happen. You'll naturally face a few good Survivors, but it's rare to have EVERY Survivor knowing what to do in every scenario.
Anyways, while The Oni, Deathslinger, and Demogorgon MIGHT have an easier time at loops, they still suffer from a lot of "noob killer issues". Some Killers still need to charge their power like The Oni, The Demogorgon can't shred past every loop to hit someone, Deathslinger still needs to reload after every miss shot (while also being precise with their aim), and many other issues that other Killers face like Ghostface being a pure M1 Killer. You can only do so much with these Killers and the loops they face, but that doesn't mean all hope is lost. You have to be tactical and fast thinking in a chase, know when to break a chase that isn't working out, know when to go defend a Generator or apply more damage to a cluster of Survivors, etc etc.
Not everything you do is pointless because of "map design" or "survivor skill", you just need to accept that not everything is a guaranteed win and KEEP improving as much as possible. Just know to do your best with what you're given, that's all anyone can really ask for. Also for the record, it's normal to lose a few Generators REALLY QUICKLY at the start, it's hard to defend like... 7-8 Generators on the map and only specific scenarios and/or Killers can make a 5 gen scenario last for more than a minute or two.
Focus on protecting what you can and not just protecting EVERYTHING that's available. You of course can do the latter, but that's only when you know you'll be safe to do so. You'll know when the time is right for that though, it comes naturally over-time as you progress.
tl;dr
I'll just skip to the main point i'm giving above, if you want you can read the mountain paragraph about what you can improve and such, but here's a run-down below.
Just keep practicing and you'll get there one day. Not every game is a for sure loss or win, but it's important to know to give it your all, even when the situation isn't in your favor.
Giving up is easy, the difficult part is learning and improving from those losses. I'm not saying you'll instantly get it, every players improves at their own pace, but even the worst situations can be turned around at a moments notice! That's the beauty of DBD, every game is really unpredictable. It's easy for me to just say "AdApT!", but it's really all there's to it. There isn't much you can do about the map designs you face, the Killers you use and their short-comings, the strongest teams that know all the tricks, etc. But that doesn't mean you should give up hope, it just means you should improve from that loss and learn what you could've done to aid in a better end result.
Once you accept that not every game can be won, than you'll start to understand where to go from there. It's natural to lose a few Generators at the start, that's supposed to happen! As for the mid-late game Generators, you need to think tactically at every avenue and possibility when facing a Survivor team. Know what they might do before they do it, THINK like a Survivor.

Transitioning between Killers can be difficult, especially if you're used to a specific Killer that you've spent most of your time on. It can also be stale to play the same Killer over and over and over again, that's why it's best to branch out and familiarize yourself with the other Killers to give yourself some variety.
In my opinion, you should definitely branch out and learn other Killers to expand your skills and horizons of what can be "fun" to play. If I had to say WHO you should start with this expansion, it should be Ghostface. Ghostface is a mid-tier Killer that can be used in almost every scenario (if used right). His power "Nightshroud" allows him to mind-game at high wall loops that block you from a Survivors view and also sneak up on a Survivor that's working on a Generator.
His power CAN be broken with direct visual contact to the Survivor, but you can block this direct contact with trees, rocks, etc. Even though he's an M1 Killer, his power makes up for a lot of his short-comings to get a few free hits/downs. I unfortunately won't go into an in-depth guide since this isn't really a guide question, but these videos below should help you out with that regardless.
If you'd like to know more about ghostface than try out some of these videos to start off

Yeah I see it in the top image before you go to the shop to remove it.

I don't really look at walls while i am playing so it's not really that important :p
Well it's not just the walls, it's also the weapons, the trees, the buildings (and by extension the walls I guess), the Generators, the Killers, the Survivors, the grass, etc.
Low textures can really affect everything you look at, but if you don't mind that than it's not a big deal.
-
@BeHasU said:
Anyway, i recommend you playing on low. Everything is more brighter, you can see traps that on ultra are invisible, the red stain is visible through walls.
I mean, if you don't mind the low texture quality than yeah.
Some people do, that's why they play on either medium or high, if their PCs can handle it that is.
-
It could just be an after effect from the rapid resolution changes.
That's why some games ask that you restart your game to get the full change. This game doesn't do that since it doesn't have to, but you can see it would be beneficial if you do. It COULD be a bug with the lighting after you rapidly change the settings, but it could also just be the resolution clashing with the previous one mid-change, which isn't as uncommon as you might think it would be.
-
A RBT (Reverse Bear Trap) Kill should count towards that daily, since a RBT kill is treated the same way as a Mori kill. So yes, you should be able to complete the daily if you get a RBT kill, but it's a lot faster AND easier to just use a Mori (In my opinion).
-
If Freddy is still locked in the Killer menu's for you, than you should do the following to make sure if it's even downloaded/bought.
- Is Freddys DLC "A Nightmare on Elm Street" downloaded on your PS4? You can usually check if it is by going to the DLC in the store itself and/or checking through the games recent download page. If it's not, than try downloading it if there's an option OR checking if there's one on the store itself.
- Did your payment for the DLC go through? You can also check if it's bought on the PSN store page OR checking if the payment went through with the card you used.
That's about it as far as "things you need to do". There isn't really much else you need to do to ensure it's downloaded, so the tips above should give you an idea if IT'S downloaded OR if the payment when through or not.
-
Gen-rushing is fairly common place now in this meta, especially since Ruin was nerfed. As for gen-rushing being MORE prominent than usual, that's just because of the events that bring double BPs.
Usually when a Bloodrush or what have you comes in, players act a lot more "toxic" than normal to get BPs. This is fairly common for every event that DBD has, so this isn't anything new.
As for the meta itself, most players blame the map design AND/OR gen times for this, but the argument itself has gone back and forth for awhile on what the actual issue is, so it gets a bit hazy when you look into it.

I prefer any of these:
Deathslinger, Oni, Ghostface, Hag, Plague, or Demogorgon
I have corrupt and NOED on all, I just really don't like using NOED as I see it as way too crutch. On the same note, corrupt is good but it does not work on big maps so well.
The Killers you prefer to use are unique, some of them are more defensive while others are more offensive. The Demogorgon and The Hag are good examples of a more defensive style, their powers allow them to cover more ground through teleportation while also closing off a lot of gaps that some loops can bring to the table. The Plague is also defensive in some way, since most of her builds focus on infecting the Generators AND decreasing Generator times as well.
As for offensive play-styles, The Deathslinger, The Oni, and Ghostface follow this play-style the most. Ghostface is pretty versatile in-general since he has one of the best stealth powers in the game, while The Oni is a great example of a more offensive play-style with his power "Yamaokas Wrath". This power allows him to traverse most maps with ease while also downing a Survivor fairly quickly in a chase. Most Killers will right Infectious Fright on him while using his power, since chain-downing multiple Survivors applies A LOT of pressure in-game during the early, mid, and late games.
As for Deathslinger, his play-style is more on the side of offensive, but he can play defensive as well from range with his power The Redeemer. He focuses more on a one on one style of chasing, but his power "The Redeemer" allows him to shoot over a lot of loops and even hit Survivors through windows with ease.
This is nice and all, but what should I do to better help me in-game?
The "defensive Killers"
For Killers like The Demogorgon, The Hag, and The Plague, you should focus more on Generator protection RATHER than offensive one on one chase mechanics. Trapping a cluster of Generators as a fail-safe is the best way to ensure a slower progression towards the end-game. This is especially good with The Hag and The Plague, so The Demogorgon should focus more on basic M1 mechanics with his Shred power to protect a cluster of Generators. You should also use his portals when you need to, not ALL the time. Setting up with The Demogorgon can either be an easy task or a time-consuming endeavor, so with The Demogorgon you can mix it up with an offensive and/or defensive style, since he's pretty versatile in-general.
The "offensive Killers"
Focus more on one on one chases and quick downing to apply pressure, The Oni, The Deathslinger, and Ghostface can down Survivors pretty quickly in the right circumstances, so be sure to utilize their powers to the fullest to get the maximum amount of pressure you can in-game.
You don't need to expose every Survivor you come across as Ghostface, you just need to use his stealth powers in a creative and tactical way. You can either expose Survivors to one hit down them, hit a Survivor and than activate Nightshroud to grab a Survivor off a nearby Generator, or even use Nightshroud to mask your red-stain at a loop with high walls! He's fairly versatile in his approach, but he's still an M1 Killer after all... So use his stealth when you need to, since that'll aid in his short-comings.
As for The Deathslinger and The Oni, they're especially good in one on one chases, since both of their powers can easily down a Survivor in seconds. The Deathslinger doesn't have to charge his power all the time to use it, but that doesn't mean he's better than The Oni... With "Yamaokas Wrath", The Oni can easily down multiple Survivors in a row and cause a huge snow-ball effect in seconds. Think of The Oni as The Hillbilly but better, the only downside is that he has to work for his power to get a good snowball effect. There's a reason why The Oni is one of the strongest Killers in the game for a reason, and this is one of those reasons why.

there are some that I use as a combo but when playing the game it doesn't feel so
Some perk combinations might not be as drastic as others, that's probably what you're experiencing... One perk is more dominating than the other, the same goes for add-ons as well.

The one's that make her unable to blink through objects/force her to baby blink, the one that will force you to go the basement despite not looking at it, the addon bugs that break her speed. If those and others were fixed that's great, because they were there for a long time
The ones about objects is somewhat fixed, the most prominent one was the Temple of Wrath statues you couldn't blink though. The basement one i'm not too sure, and the add-on bugs SHOULD be fixed now, especially the add-ons that were causing various... "things to happen".
I can't say EVERYTHING is fixed with a smile on my face, but a few things have been fixed yes.

Yeah... It's unfortunately still an issue at the moment.

Dedicated servers on Xbox were added sometime in between the archives level III announcement and the release of the dark devotee outfit.
Dedicated servers were removed sometime in between the dark devotee outfit being released and archives level IV.
I didn't really have time to confirm that or not, but now that I look back at this that seems to be true.
They were enabled around a month ago but pulled quite recently as you described, so it didn't really exist for that long to notice. So as far as I've recently seen through updates and what not, they haven't revealed when they'll be coming back. They should eventually come back though, so I wouldn't worry about it right now. @psychobandit7

From what I know they were in January/February.
From what I could gather, they were never implemented on the Xbox version, so i'm not sure if they ever were implemented for that version in the first place. Sometimes I see PS4 and Xbox as the same thing, so I just assumed that since PS4 has them (I believe) than Xbox would have them too.
With all that being said, there hasn't been anything about the "return" and/or implementation of Dedicated Servers on Xbox, at least from what I could gather in a short time.

They should still be active? At least as far as I know.
You can confirm this yourself by checking if you can see each Survivors ping WHILE you sit in a Pre-lobby as the Killer. If those ping indicators are there for each Survivor, than that means Dedicated Servers are not active on the Xbox version.
If by chance they were removed, there hasn't been any information on their return, at least from what I've been hearing about the Xbox version.

No, on the PlayStation Store, it sells for 30$ without Freddy or stranger things. If I knew how to post pictures on here, I'd post the screenshot. XD you can pull up the PlayStation Store page from a browser and it'll show you that way.
Oh I see, I thought you just meant the physical copy of the game.
It's only natural that the digital version, especially on PS4, to be a lot more pricey than the physical copy. It's been that way for some games on the PlayStation store.

Everything in the game stacks unless they explicitly say they dont.
@PeenutsButt3r This^
For example, unless a perk says "This perk does not stack with other ??? perks" like Shadowborne for example with it's FOV increase, than it's safe to assume that it WILL stack with other perks of it's kind.
It should also be noted that Shadowborne will take priority over other perks like M&A, since Shadowborne has MORE FOV increase than M&A in and out of chases. When it comes to add-ons that have a similar power gain, they WILL stack unless they say they can't in the description itself.

I simplify as this:
The match must had achieved 5 points (each gen is a point, and each survivor killed is a point) or just one survivor left.
That's one way to look at it.
