I must be weird cuz I never expect a thank you from anyone when I play killer. I mean, I did it for me and my points.

I mean, I guess as the Killer you're the "bad guy" and deserve no praise for killing the Survivors.

But from like, a fellow players standpoint its kinda odd nobody thanks you for using them. I do it when someone does it, its just the little things I suppose. You shouldn't expect it to happen, but its nice if it does right?

I don't think you undertand what defensive is, you create a negative post, and then get upset when people make "negative" responses, I only gave you a reason as to why people wont thank you, I'm certainly not going to wait around for the match to end just to say thank you.

and I never once called you an idiot, stop trying to play victim and make me look bad, it's boring.

I never said you called me an idiot, I said what you said as a response basically was implying that i'm an idiot for even complaining about this.

The post isn't even negative, its just a discussion about something that I recently have been facing today. I can change the title if you want if that makes it "negative" and hey, i'm gonna do it right now.

And no, you didn't just give me a reason why people would thank me. You literally say that i'm "crying" and that what i'm complaining about is "pointless" and it kinda isn't pointless when the point of it is discussing why Survivors hold onto BPS, and are less inclined to use them.

  • @miaasma said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/527363#Comment_527363

i mean you did just call them ungrateful and cheap for not explicitly thanking you for throwing an offering

You do have a point, but I think of it as some kind of "shock factor" when you read the title.

Its something to drive the point across, its better than saying something like "Survivors don't use BPS on X2 and I don't know why" Its less wordy you know?

  • @SenzuDuck Regardless though of my feelings towards how you word things or come off towards anyone, i'm gonna ask @MandyTalk or @Peanits To close or delete the post, as its clearly just gonna cause fights at this rate.

My comment isn't inherintely negative at all, you just see it as negative because it points out a reason why people aren't going to stick around and thank people after every match, and also just how weird it is to expect that.

Lets not forget how this post is just a negative post in and of itself, you can hardly complain about negative comments in it, you are BEING negative.

Nah @SenzuDuck We can all agree anything you say points out the "idiocy" in everyone around you excluding yourself.

This post isn't even supposed to be serious, its kinda like a "shower thought" post. Nothing I said was negative, I never made fun of anyone, never said anyone was "crying" or "salty" I never did any of that.

You come in here basically saying "Oh what a stupid thing to complain about, what an idiot am I right guys?" and now that i'm calling you out for it you get defensive about it...

Every time we talk, i'm always trying to be level headed about the conversation, but you seem to just low-ball me.

  • @SenzuDuck Why're you the most negative person on the forums?

Nothing you ever say is positive.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

What a bizarre thing to complain about.

No, it'd be nice though wouldn't it? But no, they don't. I don't expect it, but the point is it'd be nice...right?

I must be unlucky. I don't really give an offering anymore, but I know that I don't have enough BPS for all the games I play. It'd be different if someone asked so I could politely say that I don't have any more, which would be the truth. My bps are going to my killers.

Idk it depends, every experience is different.

  • @Redd said:

i save up all my BPS as killer for burning exclusively on Mother's Day, 4th of July, Veteran's Day, and Christmas.

The rest of the year, I don't burn that stuff. It's just a good way to make the survivors gen rush.

    So true.

  • @Pike_Trickfoot said:

I love using them and the killer ends up ruining my day and I get the least amount of points. Woohoo. This has happened every time I play them, double bp event or otherwise. I've even gotten 'I'm sorry' messages postgame. Does that count?

Or the killer goes super sweaty with BPS and none of the survivors actually benefit.... I'd rather you didn't do that then. Just do survivor pudding or something else instead.

I mean, if the entire 5 players in the trial use BPS at the same time, making it 500% with 100% from BBQ and 2x from Blood Hunt, you'd be more inclined to not play sweaty. Or at least that's what i'd imagine some Killers would do.

But most times I put a BPS, and nobody contributes... Its kinda odd since its a X2 where people are expected to use them now.

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

I've never been thanked for using streamers. Odd that you expect it...

    @miaasma said:

you expect people to thank you for throwing streamers? who cares?

i throw streamers all the time, i don't expect thanks for it

I don't expect it... The point was it would be nice...

Where did I ever say I expected the highest of praise for my streamers, and while the sentence led you to believe this, it never outright said that. The point also was that people oddly don't use streamers also, it'd benefit everyone in the match.

Don't forget matching you with survivors 7 ranks higher than you.

    Or lower.

  • Why would we need more "fun killers" Spirit is fine, just because you hate facing her means nothing.

  • If you play Legion with Bloody Streamers with BBQ on Double BP, you can rack up around 130k-140k or a bit more.

  • Firecrackers/Party Starters exist you know.

    Also, no.

  • @GrootDude said:

I hate rank reset, all it does is punish solo survivors.

And it punishes low rank Killers that're just trying to learn the game.

  • Its a great time to do my plague achievement, oh? You thought I'd actually have an easy time doing it? No... no... not in this current ranking system that punishes you for "winning" no...

  • @darktrix said:

I also think after they made pipping more difficult in red to give back our three safety pips we used to be able to secure at rank 1.

Yeah, I was actually thinking that. It would make it at least easier to hold the rank than to hit rank 1 which I did last season, then depip 5 times cause of the ranking system.

  • @Orion said:

@Pike_Trickfoot @FireHazard That's a player problem that no system can solve. For people like that, rank rewards won't do anything to curb their behavior.

Still, we traded having the right people at the right ranks for less match making and longer load times.

And even when we get one, its a SWF or a team of solo try-hards that never looked up the word "fun" in the dictionary before. I guess trying your hardest in a match like its the end of the world is fun to someone right?

  • @darktrix said:

So people can argue about how easy|hard it is to rank up and go on about matchmaking doesn't seem to care that much about rank either throwing reds, purples, greens together in matches cause reasons, I guess.

That and also we still get yellow ranks in our matches cause the match making is taking too long. The reason that is, is because its harder to get to red rank now, and the majority of red rankers later on in the seasons were potatoes.

Which... made up the majority of red ranks. Now they're gone, so matches take longer, and thus, the system trys to find more players at lower levels to get a match going.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/523152#Comment_523152

What's the point of having a better matchmaking system and having rank be more representative of skill?

You realize nobody who actually displays that sort of "skill" stays in red ranks right? This system thins out the match making in red ranks also, because none of the potatoes are in it anymore.

Yes, it now displays the correct bracket of players, but most of them are tryhards and or toxic with a SWF. Also, we don't get anything from being at that rank except more headaches from these type of players I said above. Not everyone at red rank is like that, but most of them are. And anyone who actually wants a chill match, DCs on purpose to derank or throws matches to go back to green ranks.

Which in turn, they continue to bully less skilled Killers because red ranks are too sweaty.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/523149#Comment_523149

It's meant to improve the matchmaker as well, since rank will be more representative of skill.

But still, whats the point if we get nothing from ranking up yet...

  • @Peanits said:

In terms of pipping thresholds, the goal there was to separate players based on skill levels and make it more difficult to reach the higher ranks. This way people would still in a rank range they are more comfortable in rather than ranking up too far and having a rough time. Previously anyone- even a survivor as boosted as myself- could hit rank 1 if they played enough in a month.

In terms of actual emblems, we're in the process of ironing out edge cases and re-balancing things that need re-balancing. We just did a pass on some of the survivor emblems in the PTB to help with instances where one player was chased for the whole game, for example. We'll be keeping an eye on the other emblems and try to make changes when we can.

@Peanits I just don't see the point if we have no rewards yet for ranking up to rank 1. Like I get it, its supposed to keep people who're not at that skill-set out of the red ranks as it was really easy to get there. But still, most games feel like a slog when you know that since 3 generators were done you'll just get a brutal killer.

Like, it shouldn't be the way it was before, but it shouldn't be this difficult either if you're getting nothing from it, people still de-pip, people still go back to lower ranks, and this just makes it easier while being rewarded for it with BPs from that match.

  • @premiumRICE said:

Having actual rewards might pump up the toxicity. I would like rewards but I don’t want everyone to be tryhard

Having a ranking system that punishes you for doing your objective is also not what anyone had in mind.

Literally makes no sense, you make the system harder for people because it was too easy? What they don't realize is its not even worth trying your best cause you'll just get Brutal Killer or below for 4king like lmao?

  • I forgot to @Peanits and @not_Queen cause this literally makes no sense, it shouldn't be this unrewarding if you for example 4k with 2 generators left. Which i've done, 3 times in a row.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

This is a really, really good post that goes in-depth as to why Killers who aren't Nurse, Spirit, Hag, or Billy can struggle so much so often at higher ranks.

In my experiences, green ranks are very similar to purple and red. If I had to guess, it's because Survivors don't want to risk getting to red ranks and waiting 20-30 minutes for a single game.

Sounds seem to be getting an update in the next patch, but it probably won't solve everything. I think we'll need a couple of patches to completely fix the sounds. Scratch marks have been bugged for a while now. I've had games where a Survivor turned and the scratch marks acted as if they kept going forward. Sometimes they will only spawn on the ground and not catch onto objects beside them. It gets really annoying.

I'm really hoping that Haddonfield is the next map to be reworked. It still has so many infinites that have no counters aside from playing a specific Killer.

    This, all of this.

Its a pain things have been in such a bad state for awhile when it comes to scratch marks, sounds, map design, and pallets. We'll finally see something for two of those 4 things, but the other two, scratch marks and sounds, idk how long that'll take to fix.

  • @Dreadlok said:

Lots of reading, but I feel your pain as a killer main.

Don't forget to mention that, at times, lobby waits can be upwards of 10 minutes. And after that long a wait, you get a SWF (with flashlights and insta heals) all running DS, MoM, BT and Adrenaline. It can be very frustrating, especially if you play the way survivors want you to (no camping or tunneling). At the end of the day though, its just a game. So, because none of these people are coming to my house for dinner or meeting me out for drinks, IDGAF..... I play my way.

A quote on my Steam profile I love - "You're the killer. Not a homemaking wife baking apple pies. Not a social worker helping homeless people get back on their feet. A killer. Your job is to sacrifice survivors to the Entity. And the trial has given you all the necessary tools to do so. There is no right or wrong way to play. Just play."

    👍️

    That quote is very true.

  • So I see 4 man SWF with 3 Blendettes. 2 flashlights & 2 Toolboxes and the other was Ash so I'm knowing this will be toxic.

    Justice served.

  • @miaasma He shouldn't, but you also shouldn't be rewarded poorly when you 4k with 2-1 gens left. I had a streak of 4 4ks in a row and only 1 of them was a ruthless killer.

It has something to do with the chaser emblem being really specific and requires you to be 100% perfect every game. It honestly needs to be fixed or the very least changed, not back to the original way it was but not as hyper specific as it is now. Why should you be this perfect for a ranking system that doesn't reward you?

  • @UkilledLegion said:

@FireHazard read my first message before freddy please

@UkilledLegion Its really hard to read, but what i'm understand is... SWF are a problem with voice coms, you kept getting SWF most of the day, and loops played a factor into it with the bad map design as well.

I agree with some of this I guess? I can't really understand it because its not written very well though...

  • @weirdkid5 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/521520#Comment_521520

    Pallets aren't infinites.

Infinites were back before Window Entity blockers. Survivors could very easily abuse multiple windows and the Killer legit could never do anything about it.

Also you know all the windows that are randomly boarded up sometimes? Yeah, none of that.

I agree pallets are annoying. But they are NOT infinites.

No that is not at all what I mean, i'm talking about infinite's like the Crotus prenn asylum, or one of the cow maps slaughter houses.

I wasn't talking about pallets being infinite's though, some infinite's do have pallets are them.

  • @weirdkid5 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/521489#Comment_521489

Exactly. I played since Day 1.

Just cause infinites are gone doesn't mean the game is currently balanced.

Besides, whenever someone uses infinites as an example of a "nerf" to Survivors, is always makes me ######### myself.

You can't nerf something that never should have existed.

EXACTLY! Why do infinite's even exist? Is it like a cop out for the map design or something?

I don't get it, why do we need 10+ safe pallets per map, why do infinites need to be a thing, why, why, oh why.

  • @Toxicity23 said:

This dude can't word the problems of the game any better. I think the Mods should consider to look at our suggestions to change the game a little, so that it'll speed up the process of buffing/nerfing killers/perks. While also improving the game itself via map changes/reworks, create better killers that are actually viable, and add new mechanics to keep us immersed. This game has so much missing potential, and I think the answer lies with the communities' opinions/ideas.

Thank you for reading this, just shoving my opinion inside here.

Its odd how people don't view it this way. Most people (older players) just think the games fine cause in 2016 you could break hooks forever, iron grasp and Agitation was the meta, and you could 99% gens.

Yes, the past was worse than now... That doesn't justify the bad design choices of today though.

  • The topest of tiers. Apex chadis Killeris.

By this logic Plague can down Survivors faster than Nurse because they're all in the broken state right? lol.

  • I'm going to go on a limb here, and say that this game has way more toxic Survivors than Killers. Yes, both exist for both sides. But for who has the most? Definitely Survivors.

Most post-game chats with a SWF will usually have one or two prodding the Killer if they won. Of course if they lost, they'd say nothing cause they either left or... You get the idea.

But even out of a SWF, you'll still come across that one guy who BMs in game (Not like I care for t-bags anyways) or talks crap in chat.

    S - Ignore loops

A - Can decrease power level of loops by a lot

B - Can decrease power level of loops sometimes / little bit

    C - Looping simulator

If you mind-game with Myers in Tier lll he can actually stop most looping spots because of how far his lunge goes.

In regular Tier l and Tier ll not so much, I wouldn't say hes C Tier though.

Peanits, you did not mention anything about the generators, you think they're fine?

@Th3Nightmare The generators are not the problem, its the map design and loops that cause generator rushing to exist.

That, and with no 2nd objective it causes generators to fly by in a SWF. They're fixing the loops and map design though, so we'll most likely see less generator rushing with Mid-Tier killers soon.

  • @Tru3Lemon said:

And now at purple ranks I’m being paired with R15 survivors:/

Ouch, I partially blame the issue for green ranks on de-rankers trying to go to a "less sweaty rank" but make it harder for Killers that're not at their skill set.

And yeah, I sometimes get paired with green ranks at rank 1-2 also. But that's kinda normal now... for some reason.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

I mean entire post complained about map design, survivor perks and generator being completed. Map design and loops have been this way for at least 2 years+ and they were even worse than before. Also a recent change to farm maps was boarding up cold-farm jungle gyms, so your information is outdated, inaccurate and false. Survivor perks vs killer perk balance hasn't changed much. Developers simply do not understand that 1 killer perk has to equal 4 survivor perks and none of them equal that besides Hex:ruin(?). Gen rushing is a big problem in red ranks, but that's largely because killers have no tools to stall generators. You can have Iridescent in chaser, Iridescent in devious(apply pressure) and still have bronze or no medal for stalling generators. I mean, kicking generators is a joke in regards to regression a generator, the perks they release to stall the game are horrifically bad and hitting a survivor repetitively so that they spam healing enough to stall the game out is extremely difficult for when players are good at the game(due to looping) unless your playing a strong killer.

You can still see the killers red stain at some angels of those jungle gyms.

The rest of this I agree with, they claim they're looking into buffing Pop Goes the Weasel, but I don't see how that really fixes anything.

Also I complained mostly about map design because the maps in these games are horrible designed for balance, once they fix the loops though, you'll most likely expect way less gen rushing as looping will last half as long now.

We can't trust it because it doesn't count DC, suicide on hook, etc

For some reason they don't take that into account and still display the chart...

  • @Poweas said:

They said that they're fixing maps wow. Pallets are OK and dealable with, but maps designs, specifically the placement of windows and dropdowns need some looking at, also the size of specific pallet loops, but it's all down to map design. The devs acknowledged it and are working to fix it.

The game is obviously not survivor sided, stop spreading misinformation. Using that as a scapegoat for when survivors are given strong perks (MoM) that will get nerfed or if you lose is a bad habit.

Play a SWF with any Mid-Tier killer, tell me how long you last before you pull hair from your scalp.

I agree with the windows and dropdowns, but I don't agree that this is spreading "misinformation" because clearly it isn't if they're taking time to (finally) fix it. I do agree though, map design plays a crucial point in how loops work in this game, and as we all know, most maps are terrible designed. You can't deny most of them had the intent to be Survivor sided with some of the loops they pull of, not to mention the 90+ safe pallets around the corner if the infinite safe pallet is destroyed.

I already know they're fixing this though, this post is to just keep in mind to not repeat past mistakes. You learn from the past, not repeat it for similar lazy results.
