I like the idea of the Obsession hearing the TR because they don't know how close the killer is when the TR isn't working properly in their favor. It should stay to confuse the Obsession, but more ultimately, to trick the Obsession into thinking you doubled back.

Still, in its current state its highly situational.

Now with a time increase, combine it with Furtive Chase and give it to Ghost Face who can turn his Terror Radius from 32 to 0 at the drop of a hat... Scary stuff man.

    Hello

Great post, well though out. Thank you! Your comments are duly noted.

The reason why the Obsession still hear the TR is to make her think that the killer is still on her and not cutting the chase. But the effect might not be working as well as we expected.

    Thank you!

    Glad to hear it!

I look forward to any possible changes to the perk in the future, and if not. At least it was nice to be considered!

There was a change recently that changed the way that works. Before it would make a lobby right away, then you'd wait for survivors to fill it. Now, it'll look for survivors to fill it and then make the lobby once it's found a match. The overall queue time should not have changed. If you are getting a significantly longer queue time, please let me know and I'll have the team look into it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/525198#Comment_525198

That's not quite the case. It wasn't based purely on the population in different regions, it was fairly random and could happen to anyone. I would previously get instant queues while people who lived a couple blocks away would end up waiting for half an hour. We wouldn't be able to fix long queue times in low population regions with a new matchmaking system. Both systems would gradually expand their filters and accept people from further away if it could not find a lobby.

Actually no @Peanits every new game I host, it takes at least 3minutes+ to host it.

And if I'm LUCKY, it will fill the lobby instantly. Instead though... It takes another minute or two, to fill the lobby once it is hosted. This was implemented in the PTB, and it was horrible... At least with the old system it felt shorter if the times are the same...

Edit: For some odd reason, its faster during the AM times EST during the morning, than dies off in the later times until the AM times again.

@FireHazard I understand it's different, just saying the game isn't gonna put ppl together at the same rank if one side is gonna be a slaughter fest.

Never know with this game, I was getting pinned with rank 10s not too long ago, and they weren't in a SWF.

  • @LordGlint said:

@FireHazard yeah, if you take the players CURRENTLY at rank 10 on console vs the ones CURRENTLY rank 10 on PC, would probably be lopsided. The thing I'm getting at is they wouldn't be matched up by CURRENT rank.

@LordGlint Probably not, no. The Ranking system is being changed anyways, anything I say is completely null since they're changing how everything works in a few months to a year tops.

  • @TheDuhJ No, I'm saying most PC players have an advantage over most Console players.

But if you've played hundreds of hours in Console, you could be just not, if not better! Than a PC player. It depends on what you use to play DBD with, try playing Killer with a controller, its WAY different than playing with more control on a Mouse & Keyboard.

  • @LordGlint Yes... I know... I'm just tell you this scenario for Rank 1 Console Players vs Rank 1 PC Players, or even rank 10 console vs PC, etc, etc.

  • @LordGlint PC Killers/Survivors are naturally more "skilled" than console players.

This isn't the case for every console Survivor/Killer Vs every PC Survivor/Killer, but the majority outweighs that by a big...BIG amount.

Imagine Pro-Nurses on PC facing Solo Survivors on Switch or Console, huge slaughter fest. I mean yeah, it would increase the player base I guess? But it would always let everyone know that if you want to be 100% efficient, you play on PC.

  • @Bithard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/551678#Comment_551678

@FireHazard it would be soul destroying. There are plenty of console players who are good enough but it ruins it for the majority.

Exactly, now if we pin up "Pros in PC" vs "Pros on Console" you'd kinda guess who's superior...

  • Since Pig is getting cosmetics finally, and so is Tapp... Will Myers receive something similar?

By this I mean he had a new movie (Halloween 2018) which displayed a more aged and gritty mask, and I was wondering if something similar will come up for him?

  • @Bithard said:

@FireHazard Imagine Switch vs PC. Or mobile? That would actually be sad.

Imagine Console/Switch Billy vs PC SWF?

    Actual P A I N

  • Console players would have a huge disadvantage against PC Survivors/Killers.

These two platforms have their own pace... Imagine a PC Nurse facing Console Survivors, people would DC instantly (More so than they already do...)

    Less toxic than Rust.

  • @Blueberry said:

    Grats!

This is definitely the game I've played the most as well. I'm almost at my 4k hour milestone.

It's the longest I've stuck around with yeah, well... Maybe the 2nd, or even 3rd. But community wise, its the longest I've integrated into.

  • @Blueberry said:

    I would say no.

He's currently mid tier at best aka still unviable at high ranks.

@Blueberry For the majority of Players now yes, for people who have stuck with him since his beginnings like me, no.

I can 3k-4k with him pretty often, and even if I 1k-2k which is rare with him at Red Ranks, I still come out with like 27k because of how much profit he can give you.

He's Mid-Tier, but in the right hands he CAN be Top-Tier, sadly... This USED to be true, now he's a solid Mid-Tier Killer with some Aspects of a Top-Tier Killer that still show in some games.

  • @Th3Nightmare I'll give you my opinion on how Legion currently is. I P3-50'ed him 3 days into his official launch and played through the PTB with him as well.

I've stuck with him, helped pioneer one of the most effective (or used to be his best build till he was changed) builds he's had, and people still use to this day... With minor tweaks here and there.

How Legion stands right now, makes him sit right at Mid-Tier. This isn't a bad place to be, but if you were used to him beforehand he could very well have been Top-Tier in the right hands.

Now, this may still be true... But he was way better before, even with the 4.4 Movement speed. This was because he had insane pressure to keep people mending, and had little downtime in this regard. While you still can do this, its much more difficult to pull off as one mistake and you'll cancel his power with a miss or a stun.

People abused his OP add-ons like Franks Mixtape, the "looking down while following bug", and the double knife mend times. I never did this, as this wasn't the way to play him effectively. Sure, it was nice to insta down people in 2 hits, but that wasn't what made Legion... Legion.

You can still do something as well that I do from time to time. Its called "force farming" and its where Legion can farm an entire team even if they don't want to farm. This is because of how easy it is to rack up points with Legion, and he's the best Killer in this department. Doctor can't even compare now, Legion can easily farm an entire team and if he 0k's will still get Brutal Killer because of this.

But there are downsides, they nerfed his power into the dirt of course, changed add-ons that didn't even need to be changed, and got rid of a lot of aspects that made him a very unique "rush down killer."

    tl;dr

A lot of aspects that made Legion, Legion were removed, and now he's a simple Mid-Tier M1 killer. He isn't unique anymore like he used to be, and probably never will be again.

He's still pretty effective with getting tons of BPs though, and is still one of the best Killers to do this with. And in the right hands, can even be a Top-Tier Killer. Of course people who used him in the past like I did, adjusted to how he is now.

  • Too many people cry about it already, its fine how it is.

Can you actually provide any kind of tangible argument other than "lol ur bad" Mr. IblockSpirit Players?

Again, I don't play Killer, but I'm able to recognize nonsense when it appears. And the shack is nonsense.

I'd like for you to actually be able to prove I'm bad.

Oh wait, you can't, because I stream every game I play and I pip up literally almost every game, even when I die.

    Stop yourself.

    O O F.

  • So we need to revert the ability where Survivors could fast vault a window with no leg room just by going 90 degrees from it?

Why? You shouldn't have been able to fast vault certain windows that were impossible to do so in the first place.

  • @Tru3Lemon said:

Some mod or dev mentioned that they are looking to that perk to see if it fits that wont work on all stealth killers

If anyone needs it to not effect them, its Ghost Face... The aura shouldn't see you in Night Shade mode, it just ruins the entire point of "stealth" for him.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    @TheBig_BadPig

Tier 1 Michael is not seen by OoO. Neither can Michael see the Survivor. This is mostly, because Michael actually REALLY needs to get to EW2, otherwise he will not achieve anything.

Also, Freddy is immune to OoO while the Survivor is not in Dreamworld. But Freddy sees the Survivor.

I knew that already, i'm talking about Killers like Tier ll Myers and Pigs Crouch, and especially Ghost Face who needs stealth to even be viable...

Just give Ooo to a SWF with coms and you basically lose.

  • @TheBig_BadPig said:

You can still see the pig when she is crouched correct? Tier 1 Michael as well. It’s no different for ghost face.

Why though, it just ruins the stealth entirely. Especially for a character like Ghost Face that requires stealth as a key element in his power...

Ooo completely destroy him, it just ruins the point of "stealth" if a SWF with a Ooo user with coms just tells you where he is 24/7.

  • Please explain @Peanits @not_Queen why this perk isn't changed to only work on Ghost Face if his power isn't active?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You don't use block add-ons because an experienced Freddy is getting free hits out of the transition anyway. So you're just reducing the transition time but getting no further benefit out of dream state.

Class Photo is the best game stalling add-on, period. Freddy is powerful when people are asleep and powerless when they aren't. Class Photo gives near complete map control if you want it. If you get 3 stacks of Devour Hope and you have a Class Photo, the game is over.

Swing Chains/Jump Rope give you added slowdown in dream state. You should have multiple people in dream state at all times. You're doing it wrong if you're sleeping one person with double blocks and eating pallet and pallet. This is where the "Freddy is weak" talking point comes from. Not that OP is doing that, but that's what a lot of inexperienced Freddy players do.

The range add-ons are incredible for sleeping multiple targets without sacrificing chase. You can sleep targets on the fly without having to disengage.

    @[Deleted User] said:

@FireHazard Like what has already been said, Class Photo isn’t just Freddys best add-ons, it’s one of the best add-ons period. If you’re not putting as many survivors asleep as possible at all times, you’re simply not getting the true benefit Dream Demon has to offer. Both the direct action penalty and the passive time wasting penalty of survivors flailing about to find a way to wake up, PLUS the intentional failed gen SC slow the game down in a way no other killer, or Ruin, can.

Plus the added benefit of knowing what the other survivors are doing most of the time whilst in a chase with another is invaluable information, and helps you plan your next move after a hook, or if it’s necessary to abandon a chase.

Class Photo + Pill Bottle = Pure Gold. Watch the pallet wasting unfold as you just wander off to put the rest to sleep, or TRULY mind game them as watch their aura the entire time but they have no clue where you are during the transition time.

    20190619151105_1.jpg

@edgarpoop @DudeDelicious Well... I can't deny the results, I just changed the perks around btw to Devour Hope, Remember Me, Monitor & Abuse, and BBQ for x2. So ignore how it currently is with Ruin.

  • @RoKrueger said:

Because with 7 seconds Dream Transition you can play mind games on survivors: You start to follow it, then go around the pallet or window it is about to take and hit it. With the dresses and ropes you can make them stay in your world longer and keep tabs on them so you can chase them in places that are not so survivor friendly. They will all be yours at the end..... buuuut they are about to completly change him because of people like you who does not get him. We will have to learn to play a new killer and say good bye to the fun mind games

So why is it that, when I use Time Reduction add-ons I 3k-4k

But when I use anything else I 0k-1k-2k?

    I don't understand @RoKrueger

  • @StarMoral said:

Well, by definition, a Ghost, a Spirit, and a Wraith are all the same thing.

Well if we're disregarding all this, cause BHVR clearly did.

It sounds more catchy to say "The Ghost" than "The Ghost Face" that's mostly the main point of this post.

  • So basically... Play like Legion for the first part of the game? And Profit?

    I can do that...

    @[Deleted User] said:

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Class Photo is one of the strongest add-ons in the game. Easily top 5. You just have to be careful because the +2s transition can really hurt you late game. But if used correctly, you can forgo all aura perks and go full gen crusher or whatever you want really. It's also better to use CP if you use Dying Light than Black Box, because BB gives away your build IMMEDIATELY and is only going to help at the start of the game where CP helps the entire game. With CP you can find the obsession super fast AND force some survivors to waste time waking up. Look through my post history for a post about good Freddy builds, look for "Dream Catcher". It's unbeatable unless they know your build before the game.

Nancy's Masterpiece/Sketchare really good add-ons too, because they increase the range which can act like a block because you hit them with sleep from farther away and by the time you get to them they are asleep. It also makes corn very dangerous against Freddy. But the most important reason to use pictures is because Dream Demon will lock-on to survivors through walls. When you use pictures it does this at range, meaning you can hold sleep and spin around in a place where you know a survivor is and it will snap to them, making it very difficult to hide from you. (EDIT: Just to be clear you don't sleep them through walls, just that the crosshair will lock on to them giving away their position).

Paint Thinner (and claws/rake) are meh. They only increase your movement while Dream Demon is hitting a survivor AND since your movement is slowed it can only increase your movement during that time to normal speed. It's not really worth using IMO. Some people like them though, but blocks and pictures are way better.

The best combo for normal use is Nancy's Masterpiece + Unicorn Block, and his strongest combo is Class Photo + Zblock.

EDIT: Dresses are also pretty good because they can make it really hard for survivors to wake up. The problem is it's still RNG dependent, so there will be times where it doesn't make a difference. But when they work, you will crush them because they will spend ages on a gen and never wake up.

These are all good points, this is better to read than someone just saying "Uh... Swing Chains and Blue dress OP plz nerf, if you don't use it you're bad"

I will try some of this when I go back to using Freddys Streamers and Puddings

  • You must live under a rock.

The PTB was a mess, the power itself needed massive buffs which we got. And he's now on his way to Top-Tier, I know shocking... Another Top-Tier killer to use.

If you've faced Myers its essentially that but better, and Myers has been out since 2016. Just adapt and play...

No offense, but those are like his worst add-ons. How is his power range add-ons the best in slot over add-ons that give you a free hit 99% of the time. The only time it doesn't work, is if the Survivors smart and uses a pallet to avoid it.

Wraith also means ghost. I'm guessing "The Ghost Face" was as close as they could get to the character name without stepping on copyright character concerns

Yeah, but it just sounds... better? I guess if you said "The Ghost" instead of this clunky short-cut version "The Ghost Face" you might as well just call him by his name, Ghost Face.

  • Do you need to pre-order DG to get the new masks or do you simply have to own both games?

@Surikato He says in this post that you just need to own the games, which you do already. So you're fine if you want to uninstall the game.

This isn't the post I was talking about, but its essentially the same answer he gave.
