they said that some maps have basements in the middle of the map
-
Yes they're bad for game health because both sides are unhappy
There is no variety with the same ol meta perks

@TheClownIsKing said:
Most aren’t as useless as many claim. There just isn’t a willingness to either experiment with them to properly understand them, or unwilling to change the way they play to get the best use out of the perk(s).
No, they ARE as useless as many claim. We've seen major content creators like Otz release videos ranking perks and the vast majority of perks are TERRIBLE. Please do not stand in the way of fun by playing devil's advocate. You need to be honest: The vast majority of perks suck.

@[Deleted User] said:
The only reason the meta never shifts is simply because nobody plays for fun anymore. Everything strictly now is about winning.
So players just stick to the strongest perks and builds.
No that's not it
I use perks like Auto-Didact and I get two skillchecks and then go full 16 second heals without getting another skillcheck and I think "Yeah, this is why nobody uses this awful perk"
And then I get tunneled/camped/slugged and I wish I had DS/Borrowed/Unbreakable. Those three perks fix the worst part of this game so they're pretty much necessary... and the non-meta perks are so incredibly underpowered they're not worth using.
-
@Kellie said:
Isn't it kinda weird how all of the older perks are meta?
Patch after patch they release extremely niche/situational perks that are not that good even when/IF you do finally get a chance to use them. So yeah, older perks are meta. New DLC is zzzzzzzz

This would create the meta because certain survivors would be way stronger than others and you would be facing the same survivors all the time.
I think I need to emphasize these benefits would not extend to gen repair or chase speed, they're situational and usually result in more BP for you and others rather than confer any serious in-game advantages
Btw the meta already exists: Blendette and Ace with built in Iron Wil

I would like to point out that Blight is the most recent Killer to be added and he shipped with Hex: Undying... which... did in fact shake up the meta in a very large way. Also they have been tweaking perks to try to make them more meta? Like... I don't think Tinkerer before its buff would have made it into the current killer meta.
Now the Survivor meta hasn't budged in a while, but a lot of that is just that the Decisive Strike + Unbreakable combo is ridiculously strong and adding something stronger is... probably a terrible idea. But even then they are trying. Power Struggle is a different take on a 2nd chance perk that works well with other things... so there's that.
Yeah it's not as bad for Killers. But you're right Survivors are stuck with Borrowed/DS/Unbreakable, mostly because getting camped/tunneled/slugged is the most boring thing in the world. I wish they'd release healthier or more fun alternatives to those perks.
-
@Negi said:
Honestly if they just shook up the meta that would be enough to make games feel fresh but they won't touch them for some reason.
Yeah. It's so underwhelming patch after patch to realize they're apparently fine with the meta not changing for years.
-
When survivors mend in your face and desperately beg to get stabbed twice while you're Frenzying to protect a teammate, I'm wondering how you manage to feel "in control" lol... Legion isn't in control at all. They're absolutely a victim to their own unintuitive overly gamey power.
-
My least favorite thing about Pyramid head is that he can quickly boot survivors out of games if they get tormented, and DS can't protect them from tunneling. If you get tormented, you can be pretty sure Pyramid Head will hook you, cage you, then hook you asap. No DS on any hook. No Borrowed from the cage. It's really easy to tunnel on him. I don't think there should be a notification telling him where survivors were uncaged from, at least make him guess.

@terumisan said:
All you'd have is people picking survivors who either have better gen speed or a skill that affects chases and those survivors would be all you see going forward you'd see good loopers pick meg for example since you'd make less noise than others in a chase.
You must have missed the part where I said "Not boring "Repair 1% faster" or Entity forbid "Run 1% faster" because that's creates the problem of "well now this survivor is optimal for genrushing/chasing", but more along the lines of interesting effects that help inform character."
I'm guessing you only read the title?

Sounds good to me. So far these changes would not make SWF more powerful or affect them. The BP ones also are good for the grind. I think that if the rest of the survivors are done like this it would be very fun.
I have some ideas for some survivors:
Kate: When Kate is near survivor(s), their spirits are lifted, and they will be gaining bonus BP while interacting together.
Tapp: Tapp will have a wider great skill check zone but no good skill check zone.
Strode: Strode will gain more BP for courage category.
Nea: Nea will not make a sound while falling from great heights.
These are the survivors that I could think of so far. I really want this because I'm tired of the grind and dull gameplay of survivor.
I really like those ideas! I feel like those additions (especially Kate) would even help curb toxicity, because if you saw someone play Kate you'd be happier because it's like bringing a mini Bloody Party Streamer. Even a small boost would still be appreciated. And there's nothing to actually affect how the game plays out like who wins/loses, but people are enjoying themselves more because their teammate is helping everyone, instead of just helping themselves.

They DO leave. THey just immeditely come back to the hook as soon as the unhook happens and find the injured person because it is easy to find someone that is injured. You ask why they tunnel in end game chat and you get an answer "Why would I chase the healthy person instead of the innjured one?" And this why they should lose some pip points if they do this.
I mean that shows how badly the game is designed: That makes sense. Why would they go after the Unhealthy survivor with 3 hook stages left? Tunneling the unhooked survivor (Which is very easy if there's no obsession) is by far the best way to win games as a Killer, it's really bad design. But I don't blame the players.

Never said u were dumb. I was saying that reasoning is but I guess a better word is flawed. If they are using SB, it will most likely be used in the beginning. And if ppl 99 it? Cool. Not many ppl do and its uncommon for all 4 ppl to have SB. Unlike dead hard. It's not uncommon for all 4 ppl to be using DH. As stated before, if they have sprint burst, I have the decision to make if I want to chase or leave them. With DH if they arent in a loop it's easy to wait it out but of they are in a loop and dh to a window then you cant do anything unless you're a specific killer
Are you serious? When somebody speaks to you and the first thing you say in response is "That's a dumb reasoning" you're being rude...
-
The counterplay to DH is to bait it out. If they are using DH for distance... guess what, they could just use Meg's Sprint exhaustion perk and it's way more effective. Getting one extra loop is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
you could also use killers than can insta-down because DH requires them being injured to be activated
As you mentioned, use Coup de Grace, you'll lunge longer than the i frames last
there's counterplay! No need to ask for nerfs.
-
So that it's useful even when it isn't combined with other hexes

You cant counter this if they use DH for distance to a window or pallet. That's my problem. You cant counter it and you just feel robbed of a hit
You weren't robbed of a hit, they used a perk slot to avoid it.
-
What you say makes a lot of sense, but for balancing purposes I think the fact that a survivor is now gone is enough of a penalty.

Players always run strongest perks they can get, so if few perks are overwhelmingly used, so they should get nerf hammer then. This is how it's always done in DBD. Now every survivor under the sun runs DS, because it gives 60 second immunity no matter what happens. Like wise undying and ruin need to be looked at as well then
I don't use the "meta" perks so no, not always. I actually run with auto-didact, and it's 100% clear to me why nobody uses it: It's terrible and often a detriment to your team. no fun allowed!
i really think rather than nerf perks that are necessary to fix this broken game (ruin+undying for genrush, ds/unbreakable/borrowed for all the ways killers can stop survivivors from having a chance to play the game) they should buff non-meta perks. buffs are so much fun, and if you've watched otz's videos on all perks ranked, youlll know how many USELESS and TERRIBLE perks there are lol. we need more buffs.

Dcing is not the answer tho.
It's bs and selfish. You screw over your whole team , take a penalty instead of simply playing a game.
I mean when the whole team DCs is anyone really screwing anyone over? I don't blame anyone for dcing vs that. it's bs as you say.
I also didn't say I did that, so you don't need to say "you screw over your whole team

Honestly she is a mindgame killer. That is her description.
Giving direction to her phase would completely counter her power. The game itself recommends you stand still and fake phase. Which, how are people still falling for?
If you eliminate her mind games, she is just what, a blind flash with a power on cooldown.
She can still be looped and out mindgamed.
I think the best way to beat her is master her as a killer. Then you can predict what she will do and often make a lot of distance.
And when she is on cooldown, she's 110 m1 killer.
She should probably be nurse speeds
Also, people still fall for the "Fake' because it's a 50/50 guess

Play whatever you want, on whatever side you choose.
If you don't like what your opponent uses, tough titty said the kitty, move on.
I have things that I choose not to use, but that is my decision. I am not going throw shade on some one else for choosing to play something in the game. Especially if they are newer and want to use powerful #########.
Like they say, hate the game, not the player.
That's exactly why people DC and suicide en masse vs the loadout OP described. They're "moving on". ASAP.

So I’m scummy for using things to my advantage?
Not quite. Some people will view you as scummy for using (by your own words) "broken things" to your advantage.
-
No, it's definitely the devs fault. They shouldn't have stuff like what you mentioned... but they do. So it's totally their fault.
Also your fault, because you're choosing to use them when you know they're "broken" and unfair. so long as they're in game go ahead, but it is known to be very "scummy". Enjoy your wins if that's all you want, but you must know people will think it's unfair/broken/scummy, it will ruin their games, and they will think (not sure if you care) that you're bad and need to be carried. Is any of that fair to you? not really. but good luck on trying to enjoy yourself when you're getting bombarded with that constantly.
solution: devs, fix game pls
-
The struggles of an introvert
Yeah, every other game has this feature (kind of like accessibility options...) but DBD doesn't. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you :(
-
No way! 0% chance I'd vote for DBD as a "labor of love" lol.
-
@Callmehandsome said:
I think undying nerf would be reasonable if DS gets nerfed as well
No fun allowed for anyone! That's balance, right?
No but really, nerfs make everyone unhappy. maybe if core issues with the game were addressed (lack of survivor objectives leads to genrushing which leads to undying+ruin, camping/tunneling/slugging sucks so much survivors will always use DS+unbreakable so they can get back to playing the game) instead of just nerfing everything we'd all be happier
-
Weird
-
As with any game (but especially this one) take a break. I find I start to think it isn't fun anymore when I start to get set in my ways, get comfortable, and start hungering for more content/quicker patches. DBD is a great game if you don't take it seriously, and take long breaks. I feel like it's meant to be played casually.

No, BS is never fine

"Really bhvr why are you banning people for this?"
I'm pretty sure this is fake news and BHVR isn't banning anyone. It was prohibited in the discord because references to child abuse (kick the behbeh) aren't allowed, but that's all.
You are right that they dug their own grave: it's a naked baby proportioned thing that crawls out of a womans stomach, of course people will call it a bebeh.

He might be going for the Jake mask, which requires sacrificing a certain number of Jakes. According to a bunch of players on the forum, it's the most difficult Leatherface mask to get because there aren't nearly as many Jakes as there are Dwights, Claudettes, and Megs. No joke, Leatherfaces are kinda infamous for tunneling Jakes for that very reason.
Maybe? He did have Claudette mask on so he maybe he was trying to collect Jake next.
-
actually that's not all: he also had insidious
-
I mean i just got facecamped by a leatherface, and two of my allies showed up (leatherface totally ignored them) and unhooked me. he downed me, let me heal up, they hooked me again. and again. ignoring the other two the whole time
im genuinely confused, because i was the first one chased and i didnt do anything wrong or toxic, i went down early. he just didn't like jake park i guess? it was so weird.
its pretty messed up they let that happen in their game, it's so abusable
-
Helps everyone (except for the other 3 survivors ofc)
Hurts nobody (mercy on the unhooked)
Sounds like a great idea to me
-
I love this
-
F for the Dwight I just saw tunneled in my last game. The griefer (doing a dev-approved strategy) made sure to focus this Dwight, camping, through borrowed time, through Decisive Strikes, and through bodyblocking becuase everyone felt so bad for Dwight (who btw, wasn't toxic and was out of the game ASAP)
Who knows, maybe the killer had a daily/archives challenge.
-
OP's suggestions are top-notch. I'd love to see those implemented
-
A killer that sets things (pallets, survivors, gens maybe?) on fire would be super cool.
-
@Awakey said:
No.
Tunneling is not griefing, nor is it an inexperienced strategy.
Also, slow hook progress when the killer is near was already tried and abused.
You don't get to say no, you're not a dev.
Tunneling is indeed griefing

"Learn to use Dead Hard" no, it's currently bugged. It's not the fault of the user, dedicated servers make it so that you can become exhausted without going invulnerable and still get downed.
