But also that you may or may not lose the points in the end and the perks? That's the problem I was trying to avoid though in my case. I want some of the perks on Plague for example unlocked on my account and to use, I don't want to unlock them now only to have them revoked later. :(
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1794698#Comment_1794698
And nope, I am on my own account, been months and months since his has been logged on this PC. We've even played DbD together without this happening.
Thank you for everyone's responses for myself as well.
Hi there, OP here. I don't think we have to worry about perks being removed after they're unlocked.
I actually had a seperate bug MONTHS ago where Splinter offerings (which have since been removed) semi-permanently unlocked DLC killers for me. I unlocked all their teachables and while I no longer have access to the Killers, I still have the perks. This was well before I logged onto my friends account so it's not related.
Yeah, when I think about it, I've gotten really lucky with bugs. I've spent almost no money on this game, but I have almost every perk thanks to BUGS.

hi! PC player here, happened to me as well. I emailed the Dead by Daylight support team about this a month ago, and they told me that this was a glitch that affected numerous players along with the cosmetics glitch. they said that it’s okay, obviously nothing is your fault, and they said that I was free to play with the characters while I had them. I asked them about putting bloodpoints into the characters (I’m a rank 3 survivor with level 1 characters), and they said I’m free to do so as long as I’m aware that I won’t be compensated for the bloodpoints I use, and there’s no guarantee I’ll keep the perks in the end.
tl;dr: don’t worry about it, it’s been acknowledged! <3
Excellent, thank you for sharing that reassuring information with me.

You should probably read the fine print when you sign up for things, you don't have the rights you think you do.
Also, the DC penalty should stay (well, not for this patch, on account of how many gamebreaking bugs there are like getting permanently stuck) because otherwise people would quit whenever they have a bad game, which results in a bad game for the other 4 people left in the trial. You gotta remember: You're not the only human. Those people's experiences matter too.
-
I saw somebody else say "Twins have what Legion's power should have been." and I think that's right.
I think it was a huge disappointment and failure on BHVR's part to advertise a killer as a "gang" and then introduce them with the most generic power ever: Run fast and go stabby stabby. No gang, you work alone. It sucks! Legion deserves a rework for that alone. 100% failure.

Is that correct?
I thought always they would be just be some small indie dev team (what do I know... Something between 10-30 + freelancers from time to time), because... well... of the "speed" with what changes coming in the game.
Well... Then I better say nothing anymore, because it is hard to find kind words under this conditions. Especially towards the Legion situation, that was a betrayal on the majority of the playerbase, just in favor of a toxic minority, but also other points staying then in a completley new light for me, like that this game still has no new game modes and stiuations in dbd still exist where 1 side can the other totally outplay, match making, bugs... Need I to go on?
I just shake my head instead.
I haven't verified it either, but it's funny because I also assumed they were a small indie company of 20-30 people. Then I asked the forums and I got told they have hundreds of employees and they haven't been a small indie company in a long time... It makes the quality of their work and how slowly they work pretty unacceptable. They're bloated.

boooooooooooring

While playing Survivor, I hate going against plague, becuase she removes the ability to heal. There's already not much to do as Survivor in this game, but to remove an action completely and potentially invalidate your perks? Lame. Really bad design, gameplay wise.
-
It's amazing. Humiliation is what fuels DBD. It's a very negative game. If you aren't playing with friends, I question why bother?
-
It makes it slightly harder for him to rapidly tunnel people out of the game.
-
They only have 600 employees, don't be too hard on them.
-
Agree 100%. It's really quite predatory, charging $15 for a skin. But hey, so long as they can get away with it, they will continue to do it. They are a business after all (Not a "family" like they claimed... Brazen gall...)
Best way to counter practices like that is to not support them. There will be people in the grips of stockholm syndrome who do ofc, but hey, whatever floats their boat.

No, I omitted the " - BHVR, probably "

Why are they so stingy??
-
Okay, but 300k BP! That will help make up for all the games you aren't playing anymore because they're broken and you get stuck, or BBQ+Chili not working, right? Please don't quit.

no one cares bud this kind of crap needs to stop
Agreed. I don't care. I'm just logging on for rewards and that's it. Not caring is not a good thing for DBD! They need people to care
-
"Are you even aware of what you’re doing?" (I get that this is rhetorical)
Judging by how the patch notes said "Fixed an issue with Hoarder not spawning chests" and then later "Hoarder doesn't work at all, sorry." it's pretty clear that NO, they have no clue what they're doing.
-
Oh cool, they're posting what the daily rewards are? Great, I know I don't even have to log in for 10k BP. Not worth the time.

No I am not. How dare you. This thread is not about real life people, surely you understand that. Shame on the both of you. I really resent how it's difficult to bring up any point without silly people like you completing changing the thread to be talking about something else.

These are all random anecdotes that are probably poorly remembered. Trying to draw any kind of conclusion from them (Hypothesis: Are toxic players drawn to Claudette/Felix) will be impossible.

It’s unlikely that the dev team decided themselves to release the chapter this early. I do believe that this is the fault of a higher up or investors pushing to get it out right away despite the lack of progress.
People always say that. I think you'd be surprised how little interference suits actually have when it comes to quality.
-
To each her own of course but to say "They did well" with Claudette's bright red lipstick... Please, she has heavier paint on her than clown. It looks ridiculous.
-
Are we sure this was intentional? This is BHVR we're talking about, they just took away the movement speed during Legion's Frenzy as a bug, maybe nerfing Trapper was another bug too.

Holy **** this thread is a stale echo chamber. Do all of you guys on here really think that these guys are just callous business robots whose only dream is to make money off of one game?
I'm not gunna rant about " oh they work hard " cuz it's not like I know. But at the very least I don't waste my time *****ing and moaning online in their forums about the game thinking that my nihilistic take is gunna do anything. Being bitter online solves nothing. Dehumanising people because you don't like how they balance a game is insanely petty. If you don't like things about a game, move on. Play something else. When their player base dips they might reach out and try to fix things. But by virtue of you continuing to play and engage you're just showing them that you still like what they're doing.
I'm just so tired of seeing people in this community repeat themselves and spout ' money hungry business ' as the main reason " BHVR Sux ". If they were money hungry this **** would be a gacha game. People would be rolling boxes for the top tier killers. Thank ****ing god we're not living in that world.
I'm only logging on for the daily rewards :P

Nancy is very authentic though. Her actress looked extremely anorexic in the first two seasons.
See this is what I don't want, judging real people. Way out of line.

I don't think it's really him, Victor, no. Like you, I think he was created by the Entity.
While the Entity is powerful, I don't think even She could resurrect someone. Keep them alive, sure. Steal their souls before they move on to the afterlife? Definitely. Actual resurrection? I doubt it.
The lore is purposefully vague and directionless, giving the writers the freedom to go whichever way they want. So, to anyone who has a theory: Maybe? Anything is possible. Imaginaaaation.
Downside is, people who come up with theories probably put more effort into thinking about lore than the actual writers.
-
"Less than perfect"... It's okay, you can call it what it actually is: a flaming dumpster fire.
And then what you ask for, as if that would placate people... you just seem like the type of person BHVR would take advantage of.

lol I am what?
Sorry English isn't my native tongue and haven't heard what you said before
Your English is great! But if you're curious: It's a type of argument. A bad/unfair one, where instead of actually discussing the argument fairly, you take their points out of context, strip them down into something that is more easily argued against, and then argue against THOSE much more vulnerable points instead of the ones they're actually trying to make.
-
Yeah I know. What else would I be complaining about? Her model looks unnaturally thin. She clearly isn't emaciated, so when you turn her to the side she looks flat as a pallet and it's surprising. They really didn't do a good job with her, probably because (as I've learned) they build every survivor from the years old Dwight/Meg models first, which is pretty sad. They need to step up their game.
This is not a judgement on "She's not attractive" or anything like that, so don't let your irrational assumptions of my underlying motivations run wild :)
-
@Dennis_van_eijk said:
Oh no what am I going to do now?
I don't have a ######### load of pallets anymore and can't mindlessly throw pallets down everytime.
This is so terrible that they made the map more balanced now, cause we don't want that.
We want to be in control and bully the killer all game and letting know how trash they are while we are gods, even though the map was so broken.
But we're not saying that 😂😂😂
you are straw manning
-
You'd think a simple game like DBD that has no innovation wouldn't break so badly for another simple patch? Just how badly programmed and unstable is this game, or is BHVR simply incompetent? This is pretty unacceptable.

-
You are absolutely insane. They release garbage despite growing as a company... and you think throwing MORE money at them will teach them to change their ways? Do you have stockholm syndrome???
-
They've got 600 people. Time to take a look at yourself BHVR and think about the people that are dragging you down, and replace them with people that don't deliver garbage. I am SHOCKED that a game with so many people working on it can have such a low quality, I honestly assumed you were an indie studio or something, but you've got more employees/dead weight than an AAA studio. No excuses.

@Heartbound said:
You guys made me look this up and investigate...sigh.
All female survivors use Meg as the base for their model, so you can tell it's just Meg's lower half with a few bells and whistles up top. It comes off in the uncanny valley because Elodie's body type...ain't built like Meg's body type if you catch my meaning. They really should have used Claudette's rig setup instead.
Seriously? Why are they going off those old models?? No wonder they look so weird. Thanks for the interesting info.
-
They probably should. Did you see how creepy and poorly animated the survivors were in the recent cosmetic trailer? They need an update, badly. They unnerved me more than the killers: very uncanny valley.

They care, I am sure they hated pushing this to live as much as we hate dealing with it- but odds are they don't have any more of a say in this than we do =/
What makes you sure of that? I don't think you should assume that. Right now they're just look greedy, incompetent, and callous, and until we have evidence that asserts that contrary I don't think you should be sure of anything

I mean, I have no idea how many of them actually work on the game, but yes - BHVR as a company has over 600 employees. A very small margin is probably the actual dev team for DbD, but a company this big should be able to put out better content.
For comparison, Santa Monica Studios - the team that made the most recent God Of War only has 300. And that is a AAA game.
I've played GoW 4, now THAT is a game that was clearly a labour of love. DBD though? lol...

Are we body shaming pixelated characters in a video game now?
How far we have climbed.
You should probably look up the definition of body shaming. I'm not body shaming, I'm pointing out that character model that is trying to mimic a human body lacks an ass. She should probably have a 50% penalty to movespeed.

Bandaid Solution: Killers BP cap per game is 64k instead of the usual 32k.
Since they keep adding new perks to the game, they need to alleviate the grind anyways
Also, you're right op. I don't play survivor in the evenings anymore because the queue time is too long to be worth it. Killer is instant, but Survivor takes too long to bother with, especially when I'm tunneled/mori'd almost instantly after starting.
-
This is not "I find killers fun" thread, this is a "I find Killers relatively more fun than Survivors" thread. It's criticism against survivor gameplay
-
BHVR really has no standards and doesn't seem to care for us if they're selling things at full price in this state.

Don't forget to vote for DBD as a "Labour of Love", everyone!
