Ah, I see the problem. You don't like add-ons that limit your playstyle. Someone once made a thread regarding changes to Renjiro's Bloody Glove and frankly, the comments there would rather have those changes moved to Iri Family Crest (Which is utterly terrible). The reason is because the glove gave Oni players a brand new playstyle that lets them use a different set of perks and add-on.
With Myers, his add-ons also lets him play differently. You got Evil Incarnate Myers (Fragrant Tuft of Hair and Tombstone), Jumpscare Myers (Scratched Mirror and Boyfriend's Note), and Burger King Myers (Judith's Tombstone and Vanity Mirror. This is basically Myers hard more). If you really want to change a problematic playstyle changing add-on for Myers, Vanity Mirror is a lot more problematic that Fragrant Tuft of Hair. Seriously, at least Iri Family Crest doesn't hinder you. Vanity Mirror literally lets you play hard mode.
Yeah, you feel me. I guess I'm just surprised that they don't want addons to be used for more than one thing. I guess that's why I don't play myers much. I love Ghostface, though. Also, I've never used Vanity mirror, like... eff that! Well, I guess since I'm trying a bunch of Myers builds, maybe I should give those a shot.
-
Sometimes the best time to use your power as Ghostface is when a survivor breaks line of sight, so you can use your power to deceive them. Also, playing ghostface well in the higher ranks requires getting good at stalking around corners during chases. Also, one thing that can help a lot with ghostface is using Nurse's Calling + Sloppy Butcher - disregard that if you're already aware of that combo, but it's really strong.
Regardless, I'm always down for a plague and ghostface buff, they're two of my favorite characters.

But restarting at Rank 20 would make getting Merciless (aka getting Adepts) quicker.
You'll be matched with other players according to your past success (or failure) with each respective killer. So, killers you are bad with, or haven't played much will be paired with similarly skilled survivors. So, it should be a lot easier to get adept trophies in the future.

DS is totally fine. But killer perks were fine too. Idk why they have yet, another killer nerf update.
DS not fine. If you're unhooked and DS activates, and the killer downs someone else and hooks them, your DS should deactivate. It also shouldn't work from lockers, unless the person has been in the locker for 5 seconds.
It's too easy to abuse this perk for easy gains when they're not earned or warranted.

Tombstone Piece/Judith's Tombstone + Fragrant Tuft of Hair
Build would be Corrupt, PWYF, Discordance, and Tinkerer. Spend the entirety of the match gaining PWYF stacks and use the information you got from the 2 last perks to find survivors and stalk them. Then in the late game, the fun begins since you'll never lose PWYF stacks nor will you ever fall out of EW III
I used a build similar to this to get the evil incarnate trophy, and it's about as hard as it is just using Fragrant Tuft of Hair by itself. At red ranks, generators flyby waaaay too fast for this addon to be useful. My whole point of making this post is that this addon is only useful in one scenario, the one you're describing, basically. I think an addon should be useful in more situations than that; at least every time I tried it, every time I would have been better off without Fragrant Tuft of Hair.
-
My goto used to be Resilience + Spine Chill + Iron Will + Unbreakable. But lately I've been running Quick and Quiet + DS + Head On + Borrowed Time. Not sure if these builds are any good, though, lol.
Although, next update, I think Iron Will + Fixated is going to be really annoying to go against as killer. Mainly because locating survivors is hard enough as it is, Fixated will allow people to get further away faster than the killer will be used to perceiving since people don't use Fixated much.

wait what bubba can counter BT?
He's always been able to 'counter BT'. He doesn't really counter it, he just hits people multiple times; first chainsaw swing activates BT, second swing downs them.
Honestly, it makes sense if you've ever seen the movie. I think they took that scene where he chases Sally for 10 minutes too literally before they buffed him. Sally was being corralled into the store! Bubba wasn't meant to chase people the entire trial without downing them.
-
Srsly? No facecamping, even after they abruptly changed Ruin? After they snuck in a Mori change during a Hotfix? Actually, I haven't either... I do tunnel players a lot more now, though.
I think all of us killers have taken part in a few facecampings... granted, maybe back when we used NOED. Honestly, though... I don't know why you're facing so many facecamping Bubbas. I haven't seen a facecamper in a while, but then again I don't play survivor when I don't have to.

Killers are probably avoiding 'Dildo Faggins'... lmao

His roaring when he gets into his blood fury is way too loud! Why does he even need to do that on the menu? It's cool and all but if you're gonna make him so dang loud, I'm less inclined to play him. It's like that bad patch for Hillbilly where his chainsaw was deafening. Even Oni's breathing in the pre-game lobby is loud. And if I turn sounds down, I can't hear survivors so don't give me that.
It's so you can see the horns on his mask and shoulders grow. I like that he does it. I usually just mute the volume or unplug my headphones while playing him.

Most of the new survivor animations look great, and are definitely an improvement to the old ones. However, the running animations just look weird. Especially running while injured, it just looks clunky and weird. The limp that survivors had while they were injured is gone, and they just run completely still now, it looks really unnatural.
I hope these get tweaked further before the update comes out, because it just looks really clunky, and it doesn't suit the game.
I think the running looks a lot better - not sure about when injured. The old animation had the movements of the arms backwards, making their momentum look off.
I'm hoping that these animation changes are going to prevent PC players from being able to make such weird and erratic movements - sometimes they move in ways that shouldn't be possible, like they're being swung around from the tip of a pole.

Buff the addon that gives Myers an unlimited ability to one-shot people? The stalking speed is supposed to be slow. You tier up to Evil Within 3 once and you're done, no more stalking needed for the rest of the match. Run other add-ons to supplement the stalking speed, fragrant tuft is fine as it is.
I tried many different combinations of addons and perks. Stalking from afar; stalking up close; playing as a basic attack killer, and only stalking when I'm about to bail on a chase, or when someone drops a pallet etc.. The only real variety in approach is when you choose to stalk, but ultimately, this addon basically makes you play without a power the majority of the match. No matter what the case may be, playing without Fragrant Tuft of Hair will always net a better result. You might argue, 'then don't use it?' Except, it's a pink addon, which are supposed to be the best addons for killers, except in this case it's mostly useless.
-
Not sure how often you play killer, but if you need to adjust to keeping an eye on all parts of the screen at all times... playing killer is a great way to do it. You get used to seeing certain effects in your periphery, and once you adjust to it, you will know when to and when not to look at those areas of the screen. In a way, the items being located in different corners can help prioritize certain information, as you only have to watch for changes in corners for priority information. Having it all in one corner, is too cluttered, imo.
-
I have brand new networking equips, <6mos old, with optimized settings and my ping is somewhere around 70-90 in the middle of the day - could it be my playstation 4? Maybe, the NIC in it is 8 years old. However, I don't have these issues with other games. ALSO, my ping was 50-70 at any time of day two months ago (that was with an asus rt ac68u). Now it's always 70-90 when playing dbd, even with all the new gear. I don't know if this is all related, but the way the game is now it plays like a lag switching host on the old p2p servers.
Anyways, I played a few hours on the last day of the rift, with a 70-90ms ping. At least once per match when hitting a survivor, the SFX for a hit would play, but the surv would teleport nearby and run away as if I didn't hit them. Something that happened countless times: I'd swing at survivors and even though it looked like I was on top of them, my hit didn't land.
One hit I landed had an insane result: I lunged early to get someone camping a pallet; on my screen I hit them, but instead I heard the pallet-drop, and I teleported about 16m away as they ran off as if they hadn't been hit. As if the pallet dropping on me squeezed me out of a tube and shot me across the map. Was kinda funny, but damn.

It doesn't just increase the speed of the suvivors, it increases the speed of any player affected by that gas - so for one it's a great way of crossing the map as the Clown, it can also be used skillfully in chases, it can be used to try to bait a survivor to go where you want them to go for example.
Yeah, it does a good job of increasing the skill ceiling and opens doors for well performing clowns. But can also punish them for mistakes. It should make playing clown more interesting. I like that you guys didn't make antidotes necessary, because people can stick to regular afterpiece tonics if they don't want to take the risk.
-
Performance on either side is dependent on information, and how much of it they have access to. Only killer's can take information away, which makes them very powerful... except when survivors find ways around that, like when they have comms. If killer's received more information when facing an SWF, I don't think it would be so dramatically imbalanced in those matchups.
-

Kill rate is greater than 50%. Statistically speaking, it is.
Although near the skill ceiling, (4 man meta swf teams), it's a different story. But they are clearly rare enough to not be able to push kill rate below 50%
I imagine it's the potatoes in red ranks that skew the kill rate statistics, rather than the top performing players. It would be REALLY awesome to see kill rates for players that average 20+ hours a week, and maintain an average rank of 1 or 2 for half of that time spent playing.

A heads up would be greatly appreciated.
-
Thank god for no more mediocre survivors being carried by the devs! Oh wait, survivors don't get punished for mistakes, they just use second chance perks.
-
The changes to the wraith, clown, Iron Maiden, are long overdue... I mean, shouldn't they just be considered fixes? The clown's the same, but with 3 sec load times which should be pretty big. Antidote is going to be high risk/reward, gotta wait for testing like others have said. Could be good if antidote boosts movement speed multiplicatively, as it will impact the killer's speed more. Either way, I'm glad they didn't make the antidote's necessary.
Most of the survivor changes are positive, and seem like pretty big buffs to me. Going against survivors with Iron Will + Fixated will be rough. If the animation changes don't make it easier to catch survivor mistakes when squatting, then I foresee hardship ahead. There are going to be three different speeds to anticipate survivor distance when looking for a survivor that's disappeared, and there are no scratch marks.
These Deep Wound changes dont change the fact that survivors can just run in circles to prevent Deep Wound from being a consequence. They could have increased time to mend, too... something, anything. They're just throwing us a bone.
Overall though, I say yes it's survivor sided, but what's new? It's like survivors are designing the game and it still feels bad to be a killer main.

I think it started working like this right after the rarity change. Its a bit frustrating to grind through all the bad perks -_-
It really is. Sometimes I think they're making it miserable, and at some point we'll be told it's because the entity is supposed to make things miserable. But, that's bull. It makes the game really obnoxious to progress through when you know you're forced down this really ######### track of progress. It's almost as if there shouldn't be a blood web to begin with, because it's not truly random!
-
They probably structured it this way. It wasn't like this immediately after changing the rarities of perks, was it? Not sure, really. But, all of my characters are stuck with tier two perks until around level 35-40. I also noticed I don't really get any 100% BP bonus items until around level 35. I'm guessing this is all intentional.

I don't be rude or mean by teabagging or pointing at the killer and they still shake their head at me for no reason. I was playing against a legion and he shook his head when he downed me. I find it rude and on the level of teabagging. There is no reason to do it, so why do some killer shake their head.
When he downed you, was it up and down, or left to right? I ask because, after downing a survivor the Legion raises his chin, and sometimes it 's buggy and looks like nodding. I thought for the longest time that Legion players were being toxic, but realized during KYF it always happens.
If not then, bad on the killer. They were likely being toxic.

When the killer finds me within the first 30 seconds of the match starting. I swear, it happens all of the time. I sometimes hide or wait until someone else gets hit first, but I feel lame doing that so I usually bolt out into the middle of the map and start working on the middle generator.
When survivors repair the outer generators before the inner ones.
When survivors are overly altruistic.
When survivors suicide because they were the first ones downed, or were tunneled into their second hook phase.
When a survivor will be on a generator 24m away while I'm hooked, and will finish the generator before coming to save me.

It makes you an anomaly!

I agree with OoO, but infectious fright is a mixed bag imo. That perk can really screw over killers who overestimate their own abilities, so I don't think it can be abused much.
I second, or third or whatever the count is, remove OoO from survivors. My second pick is Spine chill; spine chill just needs a rework, perk is too damned strong.

Survivors: David and Felix
So who's in your guys' "Prestige 3 Club"?
All killers... I am slowly leveling up survivors to P3. I only prestige them when they've ran out of items to use.
-
I think it would distract me. I've been playing long enough that my muscle memory just tells me when the survivor is going to wiggle free. Sometimes I know before I even start carrying them.
It would be interesting to add the bar, because I bet some killers would drop survivors thinking they're not going to make it to the hook.

around 9m 55s, MCote talks about how dbd sort of thrives on frustration.
How do you feel about that?
Nothing worth doing has ever been easy. The reason people value anything is because it's not easy to come by, whether it's an item, an accomplishment, or an experience, the rarer it is the more valued it is. We like to acquire and hold onto rare things because they tend to reveal the most about life, so we covet them. Sometimes we don't get to take an item from our endeavor, or really acquire anything but an experience; in DBD I can't think of what you would want to take from it other than your experiences. It's true that the bad times can be really bad, but that just means that the good times can be really good. DbD is pretty much the only video game I play these days - lately, less so because of various bugs, but still!

I don't even know where to start. He is almost unplayable, when using his ability you get frame drops, his turning is awful, sensitivity awful, you basically can use it just for traveling. I don't know how could you realease character that is only good for PC? Did you even think how that would look on console? You can only dream doing basic stuff PC players do with ease.
If it's not fixable for controller, why you still didn't add M&K? One of the if not the most requested things. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the only game that does support crossplay, but isn't supporting M&K (and God knows how long it will take because they already said that isn't their priority right now). You put console players already in huge disadvantage, but releasing character that is only good for PC? That's really sad.
Get a cp2102 USB to UART bridge, a teensy 2.0 (or really any board with an ATMEGA32U4 processor) and wires/breadboard to connect them to each other (or you can solder them together). Install 'GiMX' for Linux or Windows, download profiles and firmwares - there are instructions for all of this on the GiMX website. After calibrating everything you should be able to use mouse and KB with a playstation - it will take some work but it might be worth it. There are some other libraries available but only on linux afaik. If you don't want to do this, then there really isn't much the devs can do regarding adding KB and Mouse support on console. At least, I've never seen it done before.
Personally, I just use controllers. I think blight - and any killer that requires aiming - is challenging to play, but if you want to get better at aiming precisely on controllers, you need to do exercises to refine your thumb movements; sounds kinda crazy, but it works. An easy way to do this is just spend time tracing objects with the cursor.

i really thought this killer would be fun but its literally the opposite.

LITERALLY the best idea of the devs releasing a killer like that.
Self-care the worst perk in the game?! Someone's not thinking clearly. Most survivor perks are useful in SOME way - there actually isn't a survivor perk I can think of that is actually useless.. MAYBE babysitter. Killer perks on the other hand, I can name about 17 you could remove from the game and no one would notice. For example, monstrous shrine? insidious?
As for the Twins being too powerful, that's kinda silly. If you screw up your pounce, and victor is crushed, that's basically a 6 second cool down. Meaning, it takes a lot of practice to get good with the twins.
The twins can be annoying if survivors don't help each other, but I don't think I've seen a match where the twins have been game-breaking-ly good.

One game and you already made a final conclusion.
People like you are the reason for that famous Freddy Nerf after the launch.
You're attributing things to me you can't even know, or validate.
I don't use mori's except for dailies, because I don't want to worry about DH being knocked out early. So, I use them when I need to, but survivors are so bent out of shape by them that even with two hook actions they're still upset by them.
I have people DC when I go to Mori them, or they suicide on second hook. I don't know if the suicides on second hook are because of the mori, but I assume they are - it's never been this common.
I already told you this happened four games in a row, but yes, after those four games I quit using Mori's and it stops happening.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1817866#Comment_1817866
Plague has crazy snowball potential and I'd already know my build I'd use on her. Granted I don't play her but give me a week to learn her ins and outs it should be pretty easy. Get them all sick and abuse thana. Then take a pool and use infectious fright for an easy 4k. My build im thinking is infectious, thana, bbq(for bp), and corrupt. I shouldn't need pop because 20% slowdown is pretty fire, and corrupt should cover my ass for early game and I can get a couple of really fast chases.
If I really need help I can always switch bbq for pop and sweat my ass off. To be completely honest I could cheese ruin/undying and infectious then win for free. It really is not that hard I gotta be hoenst with you. I'm over here 4k'ing as blight with corrupt rn just working on my basics and perfecting them.
You're going to find all of them, get them sick, then waltz on over the pool of devotion to get your one hit down without them spreading out to prevent the use of your infectious fright? You would have to slug the hell out of them to even have a chance. You'd be better off with infectious fright and knock out, assuming that you will have to win with basic attacks. Especially if the survivors have any idea about what they're doing.
EDIT: if you know what you're doing, blight is a great killer, so I don't know why you're mentioning him as if he's bad.

It wouldnt.
People seriously need to stop to pick one of the mediocre Survivor Perks every Chapter and call them out for being "OP" or "game-breaking".
With the stories I heard over the last year, a Survivor with For the People, Soul Guard (or Blood Pact...), Desperate Measures and Power Struggle would be the most OP thing in the game.
Damn, that's (for the people + blood pact) something I thought would be a problem in the past and came to find out that it wasn't. As a meme build it is OP, but in the long run, you give up too much for it to be useful.
The difference with this perk setup is that it doesn't require other survivors to be around, all it requires is the killer to let the survivors get to a pallet. What's a position most survivors are downed at? Pallets. If this became popular, killers would develop a habit of learning to immediately pick up survivors near pallets, or let them go if they slug them. Slugging overall would become a risky tactic with all of the tools that now exist to counter it; it would likely have an effect similar to DS, killers just leaving survivors at pallets on the ground.
So, firstly you have killers already vigilant about nearby survivors with flashlights, and survivors waiting to stun with pallets, but to add on top of that the worry of the current survivor stunning you if you don't pick them up fast enough? Crazy. So, you have to be careful about running around to check for survivors with flashlights, or survivors wanting to stun you with a pallet. But, if you do, you have to worry about being stunned by a survivor with this perk combo.
Not game breaking at all.
