yea the one doing the sneaking(like myself) been play for 3 years when my team looping the killer I'm doing 3 to 2 half gen doing 4 totems saving people off hooks safely which I end up getting more point then any of my teammates, you know what messed up(solo survivor here btw)I do all that but when egc start I get hooked(first hook)dead on first hook as all my teammates left.

there place for sneaky survivor we just get the short end of the stick and get told we suck after.

I agree sneaky has a place. I'm just saying sneaking gets a bad rep because the majority of people doing it are new and they don't do gens.

that cool everyone got right to they opinion like my hiding find also I'm not good at chases not bad just not good at loops.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1600336#Comment_1600336

I don't mind the people who like looping I just hate the shame the hide part gets now it's like if you can't loop you shouldn't play the game

I think the assumption is if your hiding your a noob. New players seem to be the ones that hide and they also tend to suck at the game. So if someone see's somebody sneaking they assume your new and thus, you suck.

  • As a PC player. I like cross platform as a Killer because my que times are near instant. Also console players tend to be noobs. It's nice to be able to play without having to try hard once in awhile.

As survivor however, I dont like cross play. As I said above, console players are noobs. Solo survivor feels worse than before. Hell, my friends and I don't even swf anymore unless we have a full group. If we have a 3 man our 4th spot is almost always a console player. Every console player we have been partnered with we've had to carry. Maybe once the console players have adapted to playing against the master race, they will improve.

Bring Dead Hard and on the second blink prepare to use it. Abuse line of sight. Run like a potato in a predictable loop but as soon as she does her first blink and you're behind cover go the other way, then run off to another tile and do it again. You do not want to be out in the open against nurse. Pretend you're claudette bush even if you aren't.

Like he stated. Other things to add is use LoS blockers. I play Nurse a lot and I find the most annoying places to catch people are the shack, corn and multiple floors.

Shack-Loop the outside of the shack. Keep looking behind you for when the nurse prepares to blink. It will take Nurse forever to catch you by walking. So blinking is a must. When she charges a blink either keep running, double back or run inside the shack. If you keep staying one corner ahead of her it's a guessing game for her.

Corn is my kryptonite. Literally every time I hit someone in the corn maze if they loop around me while I am fatigued, I have to spend a second or 2 to find out where they went. By then they already have enough distance on me that 2 blinks won't catch them. I need to blink, recharge then try to catch them.

If your on a map that has a 2nd floor this can be used to your advantage. Some nurses will fall for the trick of running towards her when she blinks. After falling for that once the nurse will start pointing straight down to blink a short distance. If your on a 2nd floor she might blink through the floor instead of stopping.

Another tip is lockers. If she blinks and you jump in a locker she can't grab you until she recovers from fatigue. Equip head on and if you can jump into a locker during her 2nd blink you may have enough time to get the stun before she opens the locker. Id rather stick to DH though.

For the love of god, do not pallet loop a nurse. That only works on M1 killers. You won't stun her with it and if you drop it she will just blink through it. You have to climb over it. She doesn't. Half the time I don't break pallets as Nurse unless the obstacles are high enough to block sight.

  • Actually that's a pretty solid setup. If you feel like getting a warning the killer is heading towards you, id swap out IS for Spine Chill. Slap on a medkit for when your injured or try to find someone to heal you.

Thank you the reason why people chase the killer is because of how busted looping was vacuum infinits and rather than changeing when they were fixed they kept. Running in circles with such "interactive loops"

    Thank you.

Looping was not intended to be what it is now. When the game was being designed the idea was to hide from the killer. When you eventually got found the pallets were to buy you some time. Then people realized how much time looping can waste. They learned 1 person can loop a killer for several gens so people didn't bother hiding after that. They knew they could finish 3 gens by the time 1 person got downed. Provided they knew where to run and it wasn't a meta killer. This is why killers don't need nerfs. Survivors need to be the ones to adapt for a change. If your 1 trick doesn't work it's time to learn a new trick.

  • Not me specifically but BT has saved many many lives for me. I almost never go into a match without BT for fear of unsafe saves.

  • In a perfect game all killers should be viable without add ons or perks. However no game is perfect. Lately the devs have been adjusting certain add on combinations that can be OP. Though they don't stop with the add ons. They tend to screw around with the killers power on top of that. Nurse got a cd added to her blinks. Billy has an overheat mechanic to his chainsaw. Whenever people say "I want someons add ons tweaked" they are really saying "I want this killer nerfed" Begging for nerfs usually doesn't work but asking for add ons reworks is almost as effective.

  • GF is a nice jump scare killer when you can stealth. If you can't expose people you can usually get a good hit in before a chase starts. However without your power your a trapper without traps. Recharge add ons are best with him. His perks are okay. Thrilling Tremors being the best. I'm all ears I only used on PH when I was trying to hit someone vaulting with a wave. Furtive chase is perhaps one of the most useless perks in the game IMO. What's the point of a smaller terror radius "during" a chase? They already know you are there. If this perk was reversed it could be pretty powerful.

Freddy is a good killer now. His snares are good for chases, pallets mind f#@$ people and his teleport gives him some much needed map pressure. Combined with BBQ to see which gens are being worked and pop, he can slow the game down pretty well. Blood Warden is great when it works but very rare. Most survivors 99% the gates for fear of BW. Remember Me was good but now it's very niche. Fire Up is crap. Quintin's only good perk is Pharmacy. I often run this perk to farm green medkits so I don't have to bring IS or SC to heal myself.

PH is okay. Has some mix ups but lacks pressure. His strength is his ability to ignore DS. His wave can also be used to mind game survivors going to vaults. If they are committing to the jump, wave. If they turn around, let go and melee. His perks aren't very useful IMO. Cheryl has soul guard which can be pretty cool with unbreakable but it's still very niche. It will only get benefit if the killer is slugging.

Demo is also a decent killer and his dlc comes with 2 survivors. As mentioned already, Steve's perks aren't much to take home but Nancy gets Inner Strength. Which is my preferred healing perk if I don't have a medkit. Though there are times when I simply can't find a totem. I've been prestiging Demo lately and I didn't realize how strong he can be when he came out. The portals are a great way to get around. You can get the drop on people sometimes because of the undetectable while traveling. However, just like trapper and the hag, you need to spend time setting them up. His shred is a nice way to get that extra distance provided your aim is good. If not you can use it to break pallets faster. I don't think his perks are that good. Some people like surge but id rather bring pop so I can really regress the gen.

If your looking for a strong killer-Freddy because his power cannot be canceled by the survivors. GF 2nd

If you want perks-Stranger things because it comes with 1 killer and 2 survivor

If you want stealth- GF. To a lesser degree, Demo

If you want mind game potential and the ability to ignore DS-PH

  • I agree solo is mostly a bad experience and the problem isn't the game. It's those survivors are newbs. No matter how you buff survivor it's not going to help if the player can't make use of their tools.

    "You can't fix stupid."

  • How does the killer open the gates? I never tried before so I don't know.

    Me too, Trapper main.

When EGC down to 50% bar(full speed), other 3 at the Gate. While Dwight is injured (I was looking for him because easy target), suddenly he from injured to healthy. I knew he still in the map just healed himself because afraided of taken down while running to the Gate. And suddenly he stepped on a trap. I walked to him (hearing other 3 running behind me). Hook him, then I act like I miss hitting Dwight but hitting other 3.

    That is awesome

I guess I'll have to find a new perk then lol. I run DH because I like its mind gaming potential, I don't care much for the distance aspect.

I've used it to secure an exit. Quite a few times I was working on a gate, the killer showed up, I opened it and managed to DH through them to get out.

Then there are times when I BT save someone off a hook and DH through the killer's 2nd swing.

  • Best not to use DH to bait a swing because of latency. Try to use it to get that little bit of distance to reach a pallet or vault.

  • Id like to add a few things to the list. Remember the days of BNP, Insta heal medkits, when BT worked on both the hooked and unhooker. Last the dreaded days when you could recover SB while running.

  • I think it won't change much. Ruin might last a bit longer but if the killer can't pressure people enough to constantly drive them off gens. Then they will just push through it without having to cleanse it. Might make the end game terrifying with NOED. Adds double the punishment for neglecting to Cleanse da bonez

  • @BattleCast said:

You don't need many gen slow-down perks. I just either run PGTW or Surge and im perfectly fine thanks to the many gen speed nerfs lately.

well its not really because of the ruin change but because of devs showed killer mains that they dont care about them and how mindless they are by nerfing a perk that literary made the game playable and last longer than 5 minutes

I dont think the people making these balance changes actually play their own game. I've heard the guy in charge of game balance thinks Clown is an S tier killer. That worries me.

The switch of this Gate open another Gate. This sounds like a good idea for a Perk.

    Talk to Op:

I think Blood warden is high risk, and high reward if make it into your plan. I have a few times where Blood warden activated while EGC is roughly 30sec left. Eventhough, all of Killer's act would be obvious he's having BW.

Your Blood warden is a good surprise though, I also like it.

It is rare but hilarious when BW goes off. I had a bad match as trapper on Oni's map. Gates are open and 2 people left. I down one and I hook him with like 30 seconds left. I let them rescue him and I chase them to the gate. I don't even bother to swing. They get to the gate and realize they are already dead. I just stood there until the Entity took them. In the chat they laughed and said that was awesome.

  • @Pawcelot said:

No. They won't learn if they're treated like that.

I'm kinda on the same page. Sure you feel bad doing it but they gotta learn someday. If you let them assume everything will be handed to them, one day they'll grow up to be a liberal.

  • I had a match where I was crushing the survivors. I downed the 3rd and the 4th was injured somewhere. I didn't feel like slugging for the 4k so I hooked the 3rd right away. Then BBQ shows the 4th person making a beeline to a spot and crouches. "I wonder what could be there?" Despite the hatch being so far away, I actually get there in time to close it as Nea is standing on top of it. She was pissed. Worst part is I had no idea the hatch was there. Had she used her brain and jumped into a locker to hide from BBQ, I wouldn't have found her. I bet they wanted to send me several angry messages but then they realized I am on PC and they are on console.

  • I think Blood Warden would be fine if they changed the switches for the exit gates. Just make it so you can't 99% then anymore.

  • I just played a match as Demo and I was making good use of MYC. Id hook someone, drop a portal, leave, if I didn't find anyone before the save I tunnel back and tunnel the rescuer. Half of my downs were from Expose so my chaser was only like a silver despite hooking everyone 3 times each.

  • Your bored of facing the same perks over and over again? You must not play killer much other wise you would be making threads about DS, unbreakable, adren, bt.

Corrupt only really works on setup killers like trapper. Once it wears off you really need to be pressuring survivors. Everyone else they are probably better off running ruin or pop.

  • This is just my experience but since they turned on cross play the majority of my survivors I face are newbs. I almost feel bad for beating the crap out of them but then again, this is PC. This is like going from minor league to the Majors. They need to learn what's it's like to play with the master race. I can always spot a console player that hasn't faced a good PC nurse. They aren't used to a killer that can ignore loops.

Then there's the ones that think your an inexperienced killer. I get a lot of pressure when I down someone near a pallet. There tends to be 1 person waiting for the pick up. As if I'm going to fall for that. I fake the pick up, lure them out, hit that person, they run off. Then when I go back another tries the same thing. Meanwhile NO ONE is doing gens during all this. The same goes for people with flashlights. Practically part of the PC killer initiation is to learn to face a wall when picking up a survivor.

Since I got my killer ranked up again my que times are near instant. Although as a survivor I wouldn't want these people on my team. If I'm in a 3 man swf our 4th is almost always a cross player and that person usually gets carried by us.

  • It's got it's flaws but it was much much worse a few years ago.

  • Given survivor que times I dont think more reasons to lobby dodge are a good idea. Play in SWF. That eliminates most annoyances.

I mean i wouldn't say suck at the game because they could be really good at facing other killers. I would say to hide the fact that they dont want to adapt to certain killers and learn now strats

True. Most people on this game refuse to admit they can improve. Instead they want nerfs. What they don't realize is mix ups are good for the game. Especially in fighting games. If I'm playing mortal kombat against a character I know very well. Odds are they won't get many hits on me because I know all their combos. This is why mix up characters exist. So doing the same thing over and over is not feasible.

Too many times I see people trying to loop a nurse. When they should be running away blocking LoS. Or people trying to run away from a spirit when they should try to mind game her. It's sad that the one trick pony of running from pallet to pallet works so well on so many killers in this game.

  • Most of the complaints on this forum are really illusions people conjure up to hide the simple fact that they suck at this game.

I understand that by why have I been getting a random yellow rank survivor in around half of my games on both sides, when I'm purple and red most the time on both.

The MM cuts both ways. If it can find a similair rank killer for that group it will throw the first one available. Regardless if it's fair for the killer or the survivors.

  • @OllieHellhunter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594397#Comment_1594397

I'm aware but it atleast should help in theory, but yeah when I came back after a break I was a yellow rank going against mainly purples and reds, now that I'm hovering between red and purple, I'm getting yellows and reds, no clue what's going on.

It's simple. People aren't playing killer anymore. The survivors are the majority. So if they are waiting long enough the MM will throw a r20 at a group of r1's so they have a match. Those 4 red survivors continue playing the game and buying cosmetics.

  • @mintchapstick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594395#Comment_1594395

I know what it means. It's taking the game hostage for one player by making them completely unable to play the game--and it's making the rest of the team unable to actually interact with the killer. It's pretty much a complete match killer and shouldn't be an acceptable strategy.

That's not what taking hostage means. Look up the definition before you start complaining about something you don't understand.

  • I love Demigorgon with MYC. Drop a portal and leave. Wait for someone to make the save then portal back to the hook. Go after the person who made the rescue. It's not technically tunneling :P

  • @OllieHellhunter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188273/i-cant-play-new-killers-anymore

Play whoever you want through the losses you'll derank, then as you get better with the killer you're trying to improve with you'll get up to the level you were at with freddy and spirit.

Unfortunately deranking doesn't stop the MM from putting you against red survivors anymore.

  • @mintchapstick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594346#Comment_1594346

It isn't though. Because it's literally holding the game hostage.

Camping the hook isn't holding the game hostage. Even slugging all 4 survivors and watching them bleed isn't considered hostage. Both scenarios will end in time. If there was 1 survivor left and you somehow body blocked them in a corner and stayed there till they dc'ed, that's taking the game hostage because there's nothing they can do about it.

  • @mintchapstick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594289#Comment_1594289

LOL you must be a rank 21 level killer if you think camping is fine. It's not fair for survivors & it's boring to do and negatively impacts YOU.

When I said camping is fine I meant it doesn't need to be adjusted. It has a built in counter already. The issue is survivors fall for it. Experienced survivors know to leave that guy on the hook, do gens and get out. Camping only works on over altruistic survivors or newb ones. Good killers know not to waste their time camping and go hunting. The problem isn't camping, it's the community.

  • Camping is fine, it's the survivors that need to learn. If your solo survivor maybe make Kindred a built in perk?

  • @mintchapstick said:

Solo players are no where near the level of powerful as a SWF squad. Why don't YOU git good and stop bitching? I play killer too and agree that SWF are a pain in the ass, but solo players already constantly get wrecked by half way decent killers.

So were in agreement that SWF is OP? Seeing as how randoms can in your words, never be as good as a swf.

No amount of git gud will make you defeat a swf who is flawless. This game is so survivor sided it isn't even funny. Survivors control the flow of the match. If they choose to rush gens, the killer can't do much about it without meta killers and powerful add ons. This game has gotten better since it's launch but it is no where near balanced and it will never be balanced so long as the devs mold it around rank 20 solos. If you want this game to really improve. You need to look past your bias opinion and see it's flaws. Of which there are many.

  • @FFabeq said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1591624#Comment_1591624

But you forget about solo queue

IF you want to buff killers, then buff solo

Solo players can git gud. I know it's hard to believe but it can be done. If 4 solo players are good it can "almost" be as powerful as a swf with headsets. Stop holding survivors hands and let them struggle. That's how you improve. On the killer side of things. It doesn't matter how well you improve as killer because this game is balanced around taking advantage of mistakes. Good survivors hardly make any.

  • @FFabeq said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1591609#Comment_1591609

The game is very survivor sided indeed /s

    Remove pallets and windows !

Id rather they fix DS, OoO, give the killer some sort of buff against swf and balance ALL the killers.

  • Honestly if we want the game to get better the best thing killers can do is leave. If the survivors don't have someone to bully they won't play. Once BHVR notices hardly anyone is buying their precious cosmetics then they will probably take action.

  • @maderr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187926/why-can-t-more-survivors-be-like-this

Because 95% of killers play dirty maybe ?

Killers are the one who decide if the game will be good or bad, they can tunnel and camp = bad game or play properly without tunneling/camping = good games.

You know what ? 95% of killers prefer to use cheap mechanic to get kills son SWF are toxic. My SWF is super toxic and i'm proud of it cause most of killers main are trash.

You want more friendly survivors ? Then tell your killer friends to play properly.

You cannot talk about killers playing dirty when SWF exists. For every 1 killer there are 4 survivors. 4 people that can use headsets, bring keys, flashlights, DS+Unbreakable, Adren, OoO, rage quit whenever it's not going their way. The amount of toxic killers is nothing when standing next to the dog pile of toxic survivors.

  • @venomz12 said:

Because some people just can't stand to lose. Every gaming community has people like it unfortunately.

Sadly there is a large group of players that feel the only way they can have fun is if they are winning. Even if that involves cheating. That's how you get hackers and CoD players using aim bots.

  • Rank really doesn't mean #@$% in this game. When someone reaches rank 1 killer you have to ask "What were the quality of survivors they were facing?"

  • In dbd I have the mentality of a lion. I do not concern myself with the opinion of the sheep.

  • DH has a higher risk but greater reward. NOED only activates when the gens are done. By then people will open the gates and get the hell out of dodge. DH can activate before the gens are completed. The survivors do not get a notification until 3 stacks but by then it can easily be defended. At that point there is no where for them to go. They will literally be afraid of the killer(for once), drop everything and look for that totem. If you managed to get 5 stacks you can flat out remove a survivor from the match.

IMO DH is stronger than NOED by far but it has a greater risk because it is on the field from the start. NOED is more like a punishing perk.

  • I like playing as Trapper. There is some grim satisfaction when someone steps in a well placed trap. Besides him I like using the jump scare killers.

  • If people would stop buying them, they wouldn't make it.

Nurse? Yeah, some add-ons were disgusting. But Billy was outright too strong for how little effort you had to put in. Slap on the old insta-saw and the survivors may as well have been running No Mither for all the good it did them!

Base kit Huntress is the image of perfection in balance and always has been, and while I agree that nerfing "strong" killers is less favourable than buffing weaker ones, I have always been 100% in favour of making Billy actually require work to do well and will also support any Spirit changes.

I was undecided when it came to Billy's strength level. I'm not very good at 360ing billys chainsaw. Unlike the majority, I admit I suck instead of screaming for nerfs. I just hated how billy could sprint to a wall, whip his chainsaw 90 degrees and hit me around a corner.

Nurse, if she didnt have multiple blinks, I never felt salty about losing to a good nurse. Cause she was my 2nd most use killer and I know you need to put in the time to be good with her. Your not going to pick up nurse and start getting 4ks against decent survivors.

I don't recall either one being the case. There were definitely sizeable groups of people in both camps who were complaining about their base kits, especially Nurse (just like there were sizeable groups of people defending those characters' base kits).

People were complaining about their add ons. 5X blink nurse was broken and even both sides agreed on that. NO ONE asked for a cd on her blinks yet they threw that in there. No one said billy was OP and they messed with him(although not much they still F'ed with perfection) Instead of nerfing the few strong killers they should be buffing all the rest to their level.

Nurse is fine. If we look at how she does stats wise with people playing as her she probably isn't even in top 4 killers (in terms of getting of 4ks). Even people who commonly talk about unbalanced killers like scottjund will usually specificy going against a "master" nurse when talking about her balance.

I think Nurse only has high stats because her power negates a lot of the power survivors have. I still find it dumb as hell that people try to pallet loop me when Im nurse.
