According to the head of game balance. He says the clown is top tier. That tells you a lot about the devs.
-
Thing is you don't know for sure if they have DS. We can't just treat every single survivor we down as if they have it and count to 60. I just down the most effective person at the time and if they happen to have DS, it just happens. I don't actively go for people because I know DS is bugged. Most of the time people with DS come to me -.-
Personally I think people should stop running it until it's fixed. If pgtw was busted I wouldn't equip it, kick a gen and demand survivors not touch it until it regressed by 25% or whatever the amount is.

I have issues with making new friends and I think the reason why I haven't left them yet is because I have separation anxiety and don't have the heart to do it, I do plan to take a break though
I hear Civ 6 is nice. I prefer Warhammer 2 :P

Read my reply to @CashelP14 I sent after you responded
Maybe you should find new friends? Or take a break. This game isn't worth the stress sometimes.

The character from the Scream franchise and the costume are owned by 2 different entities. It was too much work for them to get the rights to both. So they got the rights to the costume cause that's what people will recognize and they invented a char to wear it.
-
Is there a new bug? I know of the one that reduces the stun to like 2 seconds. The way this thread was titled is there another bug? Wouldn't be the first time with these devs to fix one bug and another appears.

Play swf. Fixes 99% of your problems.
As much as I hate to say it, swf does solve all those problems. I never play solo que anymoe. Since they turned on cross play this feels like the worst batch of randoms we've ever had.
-
I only bring a mori if I have a daily or ritual. If I bring Devour Hope and I manage to get 5 stacks, I earned it.
-
"Wait here. I'll be back"
Whenever you down a survivor and are greater than 20 meters away, healing is reduced by 50% and you cannot self revive
Sluggers will love that :P

.................. or just play something else instead until the patch comes out like the rest of us but you do you
Either way. If there's a severe drop in the amount of killers. Then the precious, cosmetic buying survivors can't find a game. We all know those are the people the devs really care about :P
So to keep those customers the devs have to either fix the bugs or think of some other way to get those killers to come back.
-
I like the ideas but that'll never happen. That one perk is the most relied upon perk in the survivor's arsenal. Even these devs know if they give it the ruin treatment, a ton of their customers will stop playing the game.
I have another idea. Lets tie all 4 DS's to an object that is placed in a blatantly obvious area on the map. Should the kill smash it, everyone loses that perk for the entire match :P
-
An hour ago I had a match as Demo. Im prestiging him so I didnt have many good perks for him. It looks like a swf with all med kits. They find ruin early and my DH just as I was about to get 3 stacks. Gates are open, several hooks but no deaths and I got one person on the hook. Seeing as how I got zero means of downing someone else before they get to the gate I decide to secure my kill. They get the save off, I chase that person for 15 seconds to avoid BT, I loop around several people trying to body block and I eventually down them at the exit gate. I pick them up, they used DS earlier and it's my only kill. Just got a safety. Wasn't doing too well but then again, an under equipped killer I am learning and a possible swf. Given their coordination I am leaning towards SWF.
In the end game chat they said "Nice tunnel. Was it worth it?"
"As a matter of fact. Yes, it was. I'm sry. Did I break something in the survivors rule book for killers? :P"
I have no means of securing another down before everyone gets out so of course I am going to secure my 1 and only kill.
-
Not to sound like a dick but the best thing you can do is stop playing. Honest. If enough people stop playing killer then eventually the devs will have to fix some of the bugs.
-
Do you need a notification for every single perk the killer is running?

Yeah probably. One persy DCd at the beginning, another one hook suicided and then he let the Meg that hadn't been hooked once farm me on the hook until he tunneled me to death. He then stood AFK next to my death hook so the Meg could escape.
So yeah I was a bit bummed :D
Sounds like the source of your frustration was crappy teammates instead of tunneling.

It is pretty funny that despite all the killer bugs that have been around for a year. This one perk not working causes such an uproar.

If otz tunneled you it was probably in his best interests at the time.

I always want everyone to have fun, but I'm not responsible for anyone's fun or behavior but my own. You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. DbD is a competitive, full contact PVP game. The fun is in the competition. This isn't group therapy. We don't come here to share our feelings. Killers gonna kill and Survivors going to escape. That's it. If people don't enjoy adversity and competition, this is the WRONG game for them. I would say that most PVP games are WRONG for them.
We only get out of games what we put into them. If we are going to throw a fit or be upset when we lose, or something seemed to hard or unfair, then we do not have the temperament for a game like this. Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes he eats you. I have fun even when the game is horrible and I'm getting curb-stomped. Of course I want to win. It goes without saying that nobody likes to lose. But the fun is in the competition, not the outcome. We don't win money or other REAL prizes, so the outcome of the game is meaningless. It is about the journey; it is about the fight.
I realize this may be an alien mindset to many of you who apparently started playing video games in this weird new world, but I assure you when PVP games first popped up we didn't spare a thought for this foolishness, nor did our opponents. You PLAY HARD. Don't cheat. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. That's it. You make your own fun, or not.

There's not many examples of asymmetrical games that are still being played these days. FT13th? Evolve? Death Garden lmao
Besides asymmetrical doesn't hold much weight on these forums because many many many players are under the impression 1 survivor should be able to go toe to toe with the killer and stand an equal chance.

Why wouldn't you want your opponent to have fun?
Fun isn't a zero sum game, at least not beyond the unavoidable fact that winning is usually more fun than losing.
It's not that I don't want my opponenet to have fun but if I am wining because I am playing very well some people make it seem like I should stop winning. If one side is being out played why should the other go easy on them? Especially when one side wouldn't extend them the same courtesy if the situations were reversed?
-
What I don't understand is the arguements both sides put forth because they aren't having fun.
"You shouldn't camp/tunnel as killer. It's no fun for me" "If your team is being over altruistic or it helps me complete my objective why shouldn't I?"
"You shoulnd't gen rush because I'm not having fun" "It's my objective. Why shouldn't I do it as efficiently as I can?"

After stunning the killer with a pallet, move at 150% speed for 3 seconds. Causes the Exhaustion status effect for 60/50/40 seconds. Exhaustion doesn't recover while running.
Problem solved, no synergy with ds.
The problem is why would you run that perk over SB or Lithe? Pallets run out eventually and some killers are afraid of the pallet stun.
-
Break into a sprint after stunning/blinding the killler? ........now that I think about it. Everyone might run that and DS so after the stun of DS they can take off like a bat out of hell. It would be a 1 time use though.
-
No matter how you play as killer there will be someone on the other side complaining.
So long as you play by their rules you'll never win

Killers have exploited bugs too. Its both sides so no it's not payback because killers do it too. I could say the same if the stun was ten seconds.
True but seeing as how there are 4 survivors to every 1 killer id say survivors have exploited more.

Enduring has always made DS stubs shorter until patch 2.6 go check the wiki. It started being effective to DS as soon as it came out which was 1.2.1.
DS isnt solely an anti tunnel perk. The devs never said it was and they went as far as to say in their original post using it outside of tunneling was smart. The community coined it as anti tunnel thus you went with it and used it as a reason to complain.
If DS isnt anti tunnel then it is 2nd chance. Which makes it even worse. It rewards bad gameplay. Killer has nothing that gives them an extra generator if they are failing to apply pressure. NOED is not 2nd chance because the survivors can negate it before it ever comes into play. It's more of a punisher perk. Blood Warden could be 2nd chance but any survivor with 2 brain cells 99% the gates to avoid it. Really wish the devs would adjust that.
There's hardly anything that counters DS. "Don't tunnel" doesn't work on most of the people I run into(people coming to me because of DS) If I slug they can use unbreakable. If they run into a locker, unless I'm trapper, there's nothing I can do. If I take the DS then go in to finish the job I am called a tunneler. With this perk there is no right answer. There is also the very VERY real potential of 4 DS's a match. This perk is flat out bad for the game but the devs will never ever truly nerf it because majority of survivors would stop playing the game.
-
I had a match on hawkins and blight was using that add on. It was impossible to hide from him. I'm not upset they are nerfing that add on. Id rather they beef it up to iridescent instead.

Ok that doesnt represent all survivors. When you generalize survivors you continue the circle of hatred. This childish mindset of us vs them needs to stop. Some of the killers are abusing the DS bug currently. Survivors who were caught in the hill were hooked I think I even seen a post of a killer refusing to help. Even after all that I wont generalize killer mains because there are good ones.
It was never brief how long have you been playing? Enduring always worked against DS until that one patch but I was on break then. Also when it did survivors could not get away. I remember seeing a clip of tru3tal3nt getting hit by DS and still managing to down the guy as he was vaulting to escape with enduring.
Back to my main point stop being childish and looking at one person to represent a group.
No I'm pretty sure enduring didn't work on DS all the time because I remember juggling and unnerving presence were the only ways to try to counter it. This was back when the obsession could use it anytime and everyone else had to wiggle to 30%. Then they changed it one day so enduring works on ALL stuns instead of just pallets. Then they reworked DS and enduring didn't work on it anymore.
As for killer's abusing the ds bug. I've no doubt some are but there's also a chunk of them that simply don't know DS was up. Often when I get hit by DS it's because someone with it CAME to me. I either forgot they were hooked recently or I didn't feel like counting to 60 in my head. This is my beef with DS. Even if I don't tunnel there are tons of survivors that deliberately get in my face because they have a get out of jail free card. This is not a small minority because it happens pretty much every time I see someone running DS. Even if I don't tunnel I am getting punished by it. This is why I don't run the perk because I feel it is cheap. If you need DS to survive I suggest you either learn to loop, learn to route or have your teammates rescue you at a better time. If the killer is face camping than you've won. Do gens and get out. That killer will get no blood points or pips.

I feel like this is why people hate killers like Bubba, Wraith, and Freddy. They're easy to exploit by weaker/newer players who are desperate to get kills, but there's ways of playing them that are legit and fun for everyone. My Bubba gets 10-12 hooks most matches without camping/tunneling/slugging.
...and yet I still black pip, because the emblem system hates insta-down killers.
I sometimes get that with my trapper. When I hook someone in the basement and trap the place up. If I get potatoe survivors that rush the hook and step in my traps. My chaser is non-existent because they all came to me and got caught before a chase could begin.

Ok the while I dont condone bug use this bug quite literally let's you delete the survivor in 2 minutes thats not fun nor fair. That's how you kill a playerbase when one side cant even play. Forget the us vs them agenda it's not cool.
My last game I had a Bill that kept running to 1 spot. He ran there because every time I downed him he landed on top of something and made it impossible for me to pick him up. He did this throughout the match. It took like 5 downs before his team stopped healing him and he bled out. So long as survivors continue to use crap like this on me it will remain an "Us vs Them" scenario.
It's not like we haven't had this situation happen before. Remember that brief time enduring worked against DS? This isn't new to me.
-
How many bugs have survivors exploited till they fixed them? How many fat shame spots? Remember when one of Quintin's perks provided a action boost to ALL actions instead of just opening gates? Paybacks a ######### :P
It's a bug that benefits killers. We all know that will get fixed shortly. Meanwhile I am still waiting for bug fixes to Nurse introduced from her rework last year -.-
-
I haven't played too much lately but I've yet to run into a bubba since his rework. I'm kinda glad. Majority of bubbas I faced pre rework were face campers. I also tend to run dead hard and those bubbas NEVER M1. It's like they don't know how to hit you with anything but the chainsaw.
-
Now the consensus seems to be "I only slug if I know where the 4th is. Otherwise just hook and hunt for hatch"
Yet like many many other topics. What I hear on the forums doesn't quite match what I experience in game. If the killer is winning and downs the 3rd survivor it seems I ALWAYS get killers who slug for that 4k. Then again I guess it's because I tend to play in a swf and at least one of them knows how to loop really well. The killer is probably salty after that.
-
If someone dced i used to go easy on them but then they changed it so if someone dcs at the loading screen the match ends. Now if someone dcs they probably quit. At that point i do not go easy because i want them to be angry. Not at me but their teammate who screwed them. Hoping they will make a thread about quitters. If enough threads exist then maybe the devs will punish quitters more than they do now.
-
I don't think it's quiet so much as instead of a heartbeat it's music. So it's not as noticeable as it should be.

I know and im saying thats a pretty sorry state that something in the game is so broken that it has to be hidden. But also MOST games are SWF, the only time I think most killers would dodge is a 4 man. The solution to that is not to just make the killer suffer through it unknowingly but to actually balance it. The reason que times are bad is because there aren't enough people playing killer. Too many people only play survivor and after maining killer for about a year i know mostly only play survivor. If anything is going to be the downfall of the game its that split. I think thats why crossplay was such a good move, to increase the pool of killers, but its only a band aid solution
Yeah playing killer is frustrating at high lvls. People "say" swf is only 5% but I call bs. Id like to see the actual numbers behind the % of 4 man swfs.
-
Stupid idea I had a long time ago but I'm drunk right now so here it is. Let us drop a trap without making an animation. Like a land mine that slowly arms itself. That way we can drop a trap while moving and they won't see us bend down to plant it.

Yeah, but I have no idea why survivors have such a butcher boner for killers that are fun to play against? Old Freddy(I get this one was more killers but survivors also complained.), Spirit, and now PH. When I play against PH I overjoy because of how fun it is to dodge his rites of judgement and how much dopamine I get from playing against and with him.
One of Tr3's recent videos, I think he hit the nail on the head. He was getting looped like crazy as blight and he said
"This is what survivors want all killers to be. Completely at their mercy"

It should show you before the match, theres so much of a benefit to being in a SWF but the killer gets no compensation. If the killer knew who was sharing information that would be a massive benefit especially to killer like Trapper and Hag. The reason they don't is because killers dodge.....maybe theres a reason for that. Maybe that's something that needs to be worked on. Maybe the fact that they seem to have no interest is one of the many reason survivor mains far out number killer mains
The reason I said swf shouldn't be revealed in the lobby screen is most killers would back out if they knew they were facing a swf. No killer enjoys facing a swf but for the good of the game, we can't know early. We know for a fact killers will dodge lobbies and that will make que times even worse.
-
Killer is only easy if the survivors are potatoes.
-
I like to experiment but it feels like every time I take off BT the killer face camps.
Every time I take of DS I get tunneled to death
Every time I take off spine chill it's a stealth killer
Every time I take off ruin/corrupt intervention/pgtw I get gen rushed
Every time I take off NOED the survivors don't cleanse bones
I'm all for experimenting with different perks but eventually the game kinda forces you to use the best of the best.

Yeah, I mean, you could be right, but I I do tend to see a lot of "SWF OP" around here based on mostly anecdotal evidence. I'd take their numbers over anecdotes tbh.
From the numbers and my personal experience on both sides, my take is that the theoretical ceiling for SWF is really high, to the point where a god squad playing optimally should win most games on most maps. Still, in the real world, squads like that are very rare. I rarely encounter SWF squads like that as a red rank killer, and I have never played in one as a survivor (I only have one other buddy who's a really quality survivor player). If they were both common and OP, I'd expect the kill rate at red ranks to be lower than the overall kill rate.
I really do think they should buff solo queue to close the gap between solo and SWF since that will help a lot for balance, but I also don't think SWF is as big of a deal right now as people often say on the forum. Even mediocre SWFs do have more information than solo queue-ers, but I also find that SWFs tend to have a larger disparity in skill than teams of solos and they tend to get into trouble because they play too altruistically. So, on the whole, they usually don't do much better than solo queue players.
Your pretty much right. There are a lot of cry babies on these forums preaching so and so is OP. Maybe 5% are actually valid. The thing about swf is there's no way of knowing your facing one. I wouldn't mind revealing that information "after" a match is over. That way I don't feel so bad if I get stomped. It should not be revealed at the lobby screen because killers would just lobby dodge. I'm a killer main and even I have no trouble admitting that.

Yep, I've definitely watched Space Coconut and Otz. I know super good killers can play both and do very well with them... I'm just shocked at how much of an easier time I'm having 3 or 4King as Hag than Trapper, without really doing anything super different.
Hag is slower and her traps do not actually stop people but she sets up faster. She starts with all her traps. Her traps are harder to spot and setting one off jerks the survivors camera towards the phantom, leading into a free hit. However without her traps she is very very slow, hence the smaller terror radius.
Trapper on the other hand is countered hard by headsets, the fact he has to walk all over the map and pick up his traps to plant them, without longwood dye or tar bottle people can see them, the traps have to be placed in specific spots to catch someone, and they can be disarmed without bringing anything special. Hag traps at least need a flash light or someone needs to set them off while she is occupied. Anytime they release a killer whose power can be negated by survivors the meme is "So it's a trapper without his traps?"
I recommend Whispers for trapper. If you know how to use it it's not only a great tracking tool but it also tells you when no one is around. Meaning it's usually safe to plant a trap.
-
If you want hag advice you can check out Space Coconut. He seems to be a good hag player.
As for trapper. Otz has some nice vids on him. If your into twitch TheEntityLeftHand and Humerogamers are pretty good trapper mains.

Well, as of the most current stats we have, kill rates were lower at rank 20 than red rank. If the devs actually only balance for solo queue and SWF are just OP in comparison, wouldn't we expect the kill rates to be higher in red ranks, where all the god-tier SWFs should be?
I do not trust their data. Especially rank because that reflects just time played in a given month. The rank 20s could also be players who are brand new or veterans returning. I do not believe games should only be balanced around the pros but a healthy balance of both. The way these devs run their game, I don't even think they acknowledge swf exists because I think literally nothing has been done to try to level out swf. There have been numerous suggestions by this toxic community of how to help. Some good, some bad. Yet the devs haven't really done anything with our feedback before. The only time they take our advice is when they screw up SO bad that people aren't playing thier game anymore. /coughPATCH1.9.2cough

That's going a little far, yeah?
Sad thing is, not really. The devs value new survivors over all else because they haven't bought all their cosmetics yet.
-
I haven't even looked at his iridescent add ons but this one should probably be one. It's better than most aura reading perks. You can counter bbq, nurses calling but you can't block him from slamming into walls. Distortion will be eaten up in moments.
-
This is why I'm a try hard 90% of the time. If your going to tea bag me I'm going to make you work for that escape.
-
You said you play in a swf. Therefore the devs will never balance the game around you. They only balance around rank 20 solos. So any update they make will only make you stronger.
