For every hex that gets cleansed in the first 20 seconds there's a devour hope tucked behind a rock in a corner where no gens or tiles spawn that never gets found. That's the risk of a Hex, sometimes you might not get to use it, and sometimes it wins the game.

I don't know the ratio but it feels like for every dh totem that is hidden, there's 9 that are found right away. At least that's been my experience.

  • No one is making you stream. No one is making you advertise your stream. If you put your stream in your name you run the risk of someone stream sniping you. There's a simple solution. Don't stream or take TTV out of your name.

On a personal note, when playing with randoms I hate streamers. They're less concerned with playing the game. Instead they try to put on a show. From my experience they are often the first ones to quit when things don't go their way.

  • Make friends with the few randoms that can hold their own and play swf. That's about it.

Agree It was one of the only balanced meta perks we had that served a purpose

DS was the most broken perk in the game next to DH. It was only after they made it so doing anything progressive would shut it off did it really become balanced. 60 secs of immunity is not balanced.

  • I don't know why they nerfed Billy in the first place. He was considered a strong but fair killer. If I lost to a Billy it was because I failed a 360 juke or I ran to a dead zone. I didn't feel bad. When people were complaining about other killers BHVR decided to gut the one killer that was like the standard for strong but balanced.

  • Insidious. Pretty much anyone running it is a face camper.

The central lobby is actually a pretty cool layout. It's the labyrinthine parts either side that are the problem.

It's also the size of the map. They could split it up or have variations with sections walled off.

  • I predict whatever a survivors favorite streamer runs will be the meta. Heaven forbid they try something on their own to determine its value.

  • Most likely the original survivors and killers at launch. I doubt they could afford to use licensed killers in a netflix series because they would need to pay for permission and they'd have to get the actor.

While we're on the topic I wonder. When a survivor dies on the Hook they just wake up back at the campfire. I wonder if they remember dying on the hook? Walk up to a Meg, punch her in the face and yell "Why the $#%@ did you unhook me right in front of the killer".

Well until they die enough times that theres no soul left and they become a killer............I just had a great idea!!!!!! Make a dbd series about a survivor that gets sacrificed so many times they become a killer. Show the process in action.

    Survivors aren't going anywhere.

What affects my que time is a dramatic increase in killers. I see it every time a new chapter releases. There has never been a lack of survivors yet.

95+% of the survivor playerbase only plays (and therefore invests in) one or two survivors. Maybe three at best. This new system doesn't benefit them at all. Same thing for people playing only a few different killers.

New players dont have all killers and survivors unlocked, this is an awful way to reduce the grind. And this only applies for perks, not getting items and addons is harder,I hate this so called grind reduction.

It reduces the grind for veterans. I never said it's better for new players. This update didn't due a thing for them.

How on earth did anyone think this reduced the grind? It's literally increased.

The thing the decreased the grind is how prestiging now unlocks that characters perks for everyone else. If you prestige say nurse once, all killers will have tier one strider, thana and NC unlocked. If you p3 hag, all killers will have tier 3 ruin.

I typed CoB, Call of brine, a sadako perk that, when you kick a gen, makes the gen regress 200% instead of 100%, and lets you see when survivors hit skill checks on it

Ty. I saw call of brine but others were using coh and I got confused.

  • I haven't played in awhile. What is coh? When I see that I think circle of healing but that isn't what the topic is talking about.

  • I dont think 1 rage quit should be 30 mins but over time it should build up to that pretty quick. I know some players will say "My PC crashes legit every 2 matches. Thats unfair to me!" Well Im sorry but if your PC crashes that often, maybe you should upgrade or play something else.

  • Since the salt is building in this room i'll state the obvious. Unless someone is certified cheating/hacking or real stuff comes up, you should never dc. There are 5 people in a match. If your not having fun it sucks but there's 4 other people just like you trying to have fun. When you DC you ruin their fun too. The reason the DC penalty exists is people in this game DC ALL the time when it's turned off and for no good reason.

The killer found me first, I dont like this map, this killer is unfun, the survivors have flashlights ect.

Getting a Killer to chase me for 5 gens, then they look around for a moment and DC.

It's actually both satisfying and kinda awful. I first go "I AM AMAZING" then realize I just ruined someones night. I'm simultaneously laughing while saying "I am so sorry..."

I once looped a bubba for awhile around a rock. He started to chainsaw Sprint. I knew he was about to catch me so I dropped the pallet thinking it might take the hit for me. Somehow I timed it so it was in-between swings and the pallet stunned him without breaking. Then he dced.

  • I had a terrible match on crotus Penn as trapper. Gates are open, 3 people escaped, Leon is in the building opening a chest. I chase him out and hit him once. He knows he will make it to the exit gate before I can catch him. He gets close to the gate, teabags and pisses away dead hard just to be sure. He turns the corner to walk into the exit gate and steps in the trap I put there just for the hell of it.

When a survivor bms you because they know they're about to escape. Only to be caught right before the end. That's the entity's favorite dish. The hope of escape just within reach but pulled away just before they can grasp it.

Oh I can see it now. Bots going after the gens because the killer isn't applying pressure. The killer calls the bot a gen rusher and post threads on the forums. Then a mod says he's just performing his objective the best way he can. That would be a ######### slap of truth lmao

At least a bot won't teabag me at the exit gate. He'll just leave.

Plus if the killer bot hooks someone, all 3 survivors are standing less than 10 feet from the hook, I bet he camps. Why would he leave if he knows everyone is there?

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3048784#Comment_3048784

Actually, that would be easier to program than a Killer that can miss (realistically). You just program the bot to track player movement during all scenarios and animations. The only issue is pathfinding to stop bots from getting stuck on geometry. It's easier to tell the bot to be perfect than it is to tell it to make mistakes. If BHVR added bots, they would be goal oriented to a fault and hyper focus on objectives. Their logic would always be telling them to "move towards Survivor, chase the closest one (LoS check to confirm target), prioritize injured Survivors within a set range, pick up downed Survivors and put them on nearest hook, repeat all-the-above". This logic COULD be gamed to make the bot move back and forth in an open field simply by using LoS and distance to jerk it back and forth, but that's a thing with most bots.

Also, as stated before, making a bot make realistic mistakes is much harder. In shooting games, bots tend to fire nebulously to the sides of a player until a timer hits 0, that 0 being their aim deviation. Then their aim becomes accurate. So you have a set time to respond to their incoming, inaccurate fire before they punish you for not dealing with them or getting out of the way. Other games with better AI have the bots go through a myriad of logic trees, situational modifiers, etc, to make the bot behave a bit more realistically or in the very least, in a more interactive manner. A good example of this is the Xenomorphs from Alien Isolation. They have a multitude of detection cones, situation based decision making, RNG based decision making, etc. A ton of work went into making just one creature behave more like a living thing than just a bot that hones in and kills a target.

Oh I can see it now. Bots going after the person that was just unhooked. The survivors call the bot a tunneler and post threads on the forums. Then a mod says he's just performing his objective the best way he can. That would be a ######### slap of truth lmao

  • Any map that has zero grass, I do not like :p

  • I dont think it will. There's more glaring issues than amount of perk slots. Like map design.

  • They don't fix maps because they cant sell them to us. They make money off cheap cosmetics and crappy chapters. BHVR gets nothing out of balancing their game.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/333293/the-biggest-issue-with-solo-queue

This is one of the reasons, why i think basekit Kindred or a updated Hud wouldn´t do anything.

    You can´t fix bad teammates.

I feel the same. Been saying we can give them all the tools in the world and it won't fix anything if people don't use them.

  • I dont know why but Im enjoying playing as pin head. He isnt a great killer but that's the thing about him. If I manage to perform well with him I feel I am rewarded. Though you could say that about any killer. If I get a chain hunt going I have a lot of map pressure. If I chain up someone they can't DH.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I would quit playing the game if they replaced either side with bots in normal matches. I play multiplayer to play multiplayer. If I wanted to play against a machine, I've got plenty of singleplayer games I could play instead.

If I want to face bots I'll go back to playing horde on gears of war. Or go back to payday2.

Evolve tried replacing dcers with bots and it didn't work. If a monster was replaced by a bot it was a free win. If a hunter was replaced it was a near guaranteed lose. The bot was better than nothing but not by much.

A side note. If they replace killers with bots I hope they are op as sin. Like a blight/nurse that auto locks and virtually cannot miss. A Billy that cannot be 360 juke. That will never happen given bhvrs ability to program but it would be funny.

  • While I don't think kindred being basekit is a bad idea, it won't help.

1: if solo gets buffed to swf lvl. There will be a mass exodus of killers. The game is frustrating enough. Just wanted to throw that out there.

2: perks are not the solution to solo. I run kindred everytime I solo and randoms still refuse to do gens. Hoping the killer will leave. You can give them more tools than they know what to do with. It won't change a thing if they don't use them. There is nothing bhvr can do to help randoms git gud. That can only be accomplished by playing the game and learning from your mistakes.

  • When the devs continue to disappoint you over and over. Eventually you stop caring and just want the thing to go peacefully.

Every killer has a chance against skilled survivors and SWF. Stop using Ms. Fundamentally Broken as an excuse for being bad with other killers.

Do explain how a trapper main has a chance against a swf that is telling everyone where his traps are?

How a Mikey or GF or any other stealth killer can counter a swf that is telling everyone where he is?

In a normal game, by the time the killer hooks 1 survivor 3 gens can pop. In the time it took killer to do 1/12 their objective, the survivors accomplished 3/5s theirs. The killers objective requires significantly more time to accomplish than the survivor. Against skilled survivors the game falls apart. It gets even worse when SWF is thrown into the mix. Nurse is the only real chance people have against a decent swf.

A side note. I dont like playing as nurse. Its also frustrating. I try to play other killers but do you know what happens? I get curb stomped, tea bagged at the exit gate and they spam "GG EZ". I didn't want to learn how to play Nurse but I have to work with a broken system. If you want to see less Nurse's than ask BHVR to make more killers viable.

  • @Seanzu said:

I guess all the survivors are quitting the game /s

Good. Maybe the game will finally die and we'll all migrate to VHS or Evil Dead :P

  • Depends.

    • If you were to ask me I would tell you have I never sinned.
    • If you were to ask anyone who believes there is a survivors rule book for killers. Id imagine they would tell you I have sinned every single time I played a match as killer.
  • I tend to not bring any items unless Im playing with friends. Randoms have a nasty habit of quitting early. So why waste a perfectly good item on someone who doesnt deserve it?

  • Even if you record and they get banned. They'll just create a new account. That's why I hate it when games go free to play.

  • I guess bhvr assumes survivors will be angry their meta is being gutted(replaced). So they have to gut(gut) the killer meta to compensate.

  • I personally think there should be a difficult skill check when disarming a trap. Add ons shrink the skill check. Failure leads to getting your hand trapped. That way there is at least some danger. Right now there is almost zero risk to denying him his power.

I'm just reminding the devs and people who think some little changes fix the bigger issues lol.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3039238#Comment_3039238

Yeah fully agree, if always someone who thought hooks would be a better balance point for killers. Having said that though at least you have some control of the match, while survivor is just a dice roll on if it pairs you with people that wanna do gens or a non full tunneling killer

It's sad but I prefer the old emblem system. At least I could get 0 kills, or die as a survivor yet I could still rank up if I played well in all areas.

  • Sbmm doesn't just screw over survivors. It F's with killers too. A killer can get 2 hooks on everyone but no kills and the game thinks they aren't skilled. Meanwhile a noob who didn't protect any gens, got zero hooks but managed to get 2 people with noed. The game thinks they're good. When bhvr said sbmm is based off kills and escapes it just further showed their incompetence. Instead of working on a real solution they choose the easy option and went back to making more ######### cosmetics.

  • @Laluzi said:

...while I was happy to give feedback about the event, the Garden of Joy, etc, there was something I saw in there that I cannot possibly express all of my Nope about.

Limited-time licensed cosmetics. As in, say, a Pyramid Head outfit goes in the store for a few weeks and then leaves forever.

I thought we were moving away from true exclusives? Why would we want more permanently retired cosmetics? Especially store ones? Especially on licensed characters, who have the fewest cosmetic options in the game and the most fans that would like to own them? It's rare enough that BHVR gets to negotiate for licensed cosmetics; gating them to new players or people who weren't active on DBD during the window is an awful idea and a waste of a long-term opportunity for the sake of a quick cash grab.

They also suggested a referral system and incentives for getting your friends to join the game, which has me half giggling and half harkening back to Neopets, but seriously, who in the dev team actually wants limited cosmetics to happen? And can we tell them to stop?

    FOMO -.-

Early game I do that many times as a killer and have no problem with it. If I don't see the unhooker I just slug the one that got unhooked IF they're so in my face about it, but I don't hook them again. I give them a final chance and at the same time a warning to do a better job of getting away. Then I go for the gen-jockey's instead.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037801#Comment_3037801

That's a diff scenario. If a survivor chooses to body-block with OTR and goes for taking hits instead of getting away, then yes, all bets are off.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3037965#Comment_3037965

I agree. I never stated anything about the end-game. From my perspective, after the first 2 gens are done, tunneling/camping is a strat. I don't mind that no matter which role I'm playing.

If you only see the person you just hooked and you slug them you could apply pressure by leaving them on the ground. Forcing someone else to get off a gen to heal them. Or you could pick them up and eat their DS so they won't have it later. At that point you know they don't have a 2nd chance perk and you can try to remove someone from the game. It's not the killer's fault for playing optimally. It's bhvr's fault for not giving us actual reason to spread out the hooks vs eliminating one person early.

How about just don't tunnel? Go for the unhooker.

How is that concept so foreign for so many killers?!

Well when a rescue is made, I go back to the hook, the rescuer creeped away and all I see is a blood trail explain what you think I should do? Leave that person alone because they were just hooked? I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to get another hook because your teammate screwed you over. Who else am I going to chase if all I see is the injured survivor? How is that concept so foreign for so many survivors?!

  • A good chunk of survivors quit when they find out the killer isn't a newb who can easily be bullied.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The point was to remove it from the Meta. Now people will run Off the Record instead of DS, so BHVR did what they told - they changed the Meta.

Not in any way people were hoping for (more Basegame-Stuff and less reliant on Perks), but hey...

We traded one villain for another -.-

  • I really don't think giving survivors more ways to kill themselves early and dodge the dc penalty is a good idea.
