So you guys caught me...I was venting about the "Instadeath" situation since that is a stupid addition to DbD and anyone who came up with that one needs help. So it is pretty funny as a Survivor main to see Killers whining about flashlights & pallets

(Dang, this forum thing is weird today! O.o)

Well, both sides have weaknesses and Strengths. For me, I survive about 1 out of 5 games, but it matters to me more if I was useful to the team and did not die like an idiot (And get many blood points), which involves about 9 out of 10 games. (These are guesses)

  • @bannerlemur said:

I just played 2 out of 3 games where the Killer was Myers who hooked 0 survivors combined between the 2 games...but Killed all 8. I didn't even know a Killer could kill the survivors without ever hooking them 1st. Never saw that until today. So anyone pretending the Killers are nerfed is wrong. I thought it was a cheat the 1st game until it happened again 2 games later...

Wait, how are new are you? There is something called Mori....

Well I like hitting her, so I can hear her sweet deep voice XD

    That's...interesting, I guess. XD

  • Dang, Spirit is really popular -.- On the other hand, as a mostly survivor, I have only survived the Spirit once, every single time, she always sneak attacks me and finds me, even though she has the "Can't see survivors while moving through walls" thing. O.o

    She is really scary.

  • Man, sadly, I am the nice guy that I always try to see if I can distract the killer with other survivors saved. Only failed two campers games so far...

There isn't much you can do if the killer decides to tunnel or camp you all game. I am rank 1 killer and rank 1 survivor.

I disagree. Becoming too annoying of a target by dodging, juking, or otherwise making life hell for the killer makes them lose interest.

Unless I’m the obsession and dude is using Dying Light or Remember Me, I have no problems getting the killer to find interest in someone else.

They don't always lose interest. I have had some killers that chased me the whole game while the others were doing gens. I eventually got caught and camped. wasn't much I could do.

Been there, done that, have played many games where only I died, because it was too late to save me XD

Possibly worst idea I thought of is probably nerfing Barbeque and Chili, but it something on my wishlist. The #1 perk that kills me when I try to sneak gen when someone is being hooked. Why Leatherface, at least you are easy to juke and dodge. XD

  • So, I gathered Monk, Priest, Nun, Shaman, Witch, or something else...
Should be more humanoid than some others, right? :D

Then do something about gens being done too fast. Ruin isn't enough

    That makes no sense.

Gens dont get done at low rank thats why camping works.

If gens took even longer than camping would be stringer than it is now.

As for tunneling, if you're tunneling one guy then yeah the gens are going to be powered up fast.

If you waste time not tunneling then gens will be done before you know it. You need at least 1 kill before 3 gens get done or your gonna struggle

Agreed. Tunneling, just be a good dodger and runner (I do this so much with Meg and Nea sadly XD)
Out of the 4 categories, Evader is always second to me before Altruism. Generators are always one of the last or survival points because I get downed easily and not being able to do too many gens, but hey, other three teammates can work on generators on the other side of the map. :D Worth it.

  • Good ideas to me:
-Shapeshifter like some kind of magician, can disguise as another survivor? (Neutral idea actually, can probably be too weak or overpowered)
-The wendigos from Until Dawn would be TERRIFYING (dlc)
-A little girl or creature that can crawl through walls slowly, or hide and teleport through lockers.

    Bad Ideas:
The killer is super slow with little reward
The killer can be easily be dodged and spotted (Colorful rainbow pony furry!)
    Ur Mom Gay
    The killer is Peppa Pig
A killer that is the Legion again, but worst, the killer can now only kill survivors by struggling to drag survivors by rapidly pressing space and slowly moving towards a hook.
A shapeshifter that turns into an item in the environment like in prop hunt. Just no.
    Nea (Wait, might be good)

  • @Eveline said:
Never tried no mither yet, totally forgot about it. I should try it.

Good luck, I wish it gave a free bloodpoint bonus the longer a survivor survives with No Mither XD

  • @Theninjabizcuit said:
If a killer camps a survivor on a hook it ruins the game for that survivor and team. My idea is that the longer the killer looks at a hooked survivor, the more they lose their sight. Like when a flashlight is used. The lore behind it could be, "Survivors lose their hope when stalked on a hook, leaving the entity hungry and angry. The longer you look the more you will be punished."

Maybe it should be that the health bar meter decreases slower if the killer is nearby. A survivor with an ironic perk to counter campers would be awesome. (If I was a survivor, I would have something that is the killer is nearby a hooked survivor, and another survivor nearby me attempts to save the survivor, the killer would slow down massively in attack speed and movement.) Borrowed time is also there, but it is not enough to me, as I almost always get chased being unhooked or unhooking someone.

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:
    I hope it's a mummy!!! Nuff' said

Hopefully a creepy one, not a stereotypical one. This one might bring many more hexes, oh gosh.
We need a survivor who is a (Mommy) Mother or someone that gives blessings that counters hexes. :D

  • What I do in a tunnel thing is to try to juke around killers (The chainsaw dudes are the easiest for me for some reason) and always watch for an opportunity to be unpredictable, like once, I was being chased by the spirit, and I fast vaulted a window, then as the spirit goes the other way, I go back quietly, and hide under the window until the heartbeat and her creepy voice is gone.

I also recommend looking at tutorials to avoid tunneling, take advantage of abilities like Dead Hard and Spirit Sprint Burst. Also, use pallets of course, but one thing I sometimes do when I am not panicking is to go to the pallet, see if the killer tries to break the pallet or not. If the killer goes the other way, wait until the killer is right behind you, not the moment when the killer is away from your sight to vault quickly or quietly through the pallet. If the killer breaks the pallet, I run to the killer's side, then run back in a circle to cause the killer to be confused on your direction. Locker dodging is a thing in buildings, but I suck at them, I always die getting grabbed when I forget to do a locker run. XD

Against campers, sadly, just work on generators, unless you get the other survivors to distract the killer to save the hooked survivor. Sabotaging hooks and flashlights does prevent camping too. XD

  • Hmm... that just seems to be slightly better chances of survival than just going for No Mither XD

  • @NuclearBurrito said:
To be fair. How exactly will seeing the survivors change how you play? It only does when altruism is involved (which to be fair is often)

Seeing the Killer however means you know your immediate next move and can know which gens are safe to do, if the killer is near the hooked survivor and thus you should or shouldn't go for the save, or if you should be hiding because you are about to be in their terror radius and it's a doctor

I do agree, (Altruism is my #1 most filled stat XD) but seeing survivors being chased also shows potentially where the killer is. :)

  • From the looks of it, I can speculate-
A Nun or Priest in Mali that murdered children?
That thing is some kind of clock or tying in some temple?
Anyway, hopefully, this killer will be awesome! ^-^

I've literally never used left behind!!!

Yeah, it only sounds like a perk that
-You hate Hatches for some reason, so you sneak gens (Weirdo)
-Only helps if the rest of the team sucked and died early, and did literally no gens.

    @AlphaJackson said:
I think alert is fairly useless, it's to me a downgraded empathy / bond, I'd rather know where my team is than the killer, as you can tell based on playstyle who is being chased; then if nobody is being chased you can pinpoint where the killer is, or make an educated guess based on where they're not through looking at your team and local area, making alert a near useless perk.

I don't know, I like checking where the killer is, it is nice to know if it is safe to do generators on the other side of the map. Also let's you know what gens to avoid if you can see the killer really often destroying pallets and gens. To be honest, I would just go with Empathy or Bond though. Still a better version than Dark sense that I still use on y Nea due to lack of abilities. XD

Oh, didn't know that. Still, 10-15% would sound fine to me, it's around the same escape rate that survivors have against my frank's mixtape legion and legion is one of the worst killers in the game.

Ironically enough since Legion came out I've kinda noticed Freddy isn't ######### tier. I get killed more by him than some other killers like Trapper

True, compared to other killers, I see others call him one of the worst, but I have never escaped from him, always one of the first to die from him.
Wraith, Trapper, Hilliybilly, Pig, Leatherface, Huntress, Nurse, Doctor, and Michael Myers I have escaped from before, almost to Hag and Legion, never the CLown, but have always died from the "la la la" of children from Freddy. O.o

I was playing with a Claudette and a kate, against a really wraith with purple addons.

I was running after care and saw this kate nearby getting chased. Me and this Claudette where on the gen. I knew a pallet was right there so the Kate was coming to use(obviously) so I snuck into the locker. The Claudette opened it. The Kate gets hooked right beside us. The Claudette’s hiding. Killer doesn’t know I’m in the locker. At this point I’m waiting for the killer to leave the area.

He finds the Claudette, she’s about to go down, and runs right to the locker I’m in on purpose and tries to open it giving away my location. He slugs her then pulls me out. Next thing you know we’re all on hooks.

We we only had two gens left. I was livid man Bc I could of saved the Kate, and then went for her. Instead of giving the team a chance though she’d rather throw the match.

    Whelp, that happens :/

Yeah, her backstory sounds more horror-movie induced, and between Meg and Dwight, I prefer her by a large margin. :D

  • @NoShinyPony said:
    Well, > @Ember_Hunter said:

Do people normally ridicule you for stealthing too much?

There's a difference between being stealthy and stealthying too much. If somebody doesn't do gens and spends a lot of the time hiding, the other survivors notice that.

Keep in mind: Repairing gens, helping teammates, distracting the killer - this is a job for 4 survivors. If 1 surv hesitates too much and ends up wasting time, the other 3 survivors will also have a hard time surviving because they can't compensate for that one person.

If you are asking yourself if you are just normal stealthy or if you are "too stealthy", just take a look after the game at how many gens you did, how many unhooks, how many heals and how long you kept the killer busy while being in a chase. These facts will tell you more than what a trolling teammate is saying to you.

(Hopefully does not count as a necro, did not see the other replies O.o)
Yeah, thing is, I only got points for opening gates and doing totems, because remember the guy blowing up every single generator I did? I hope people like those get more punished in the future. :P

Yeah, i kept getting birds when playing Lery's as a survivor (one of my fave maps, but sometimes you gotta hide in a dark corner for a couple tense moments)

One day I watched TrueTalent and was like "why isn't he getting birds like i do on this map" and that's when i realized it's cause he, and most streamers, wiggle a bit, or tea bag, or otherwise put inputs in when they area giving the killer the old shinobi.

Interesting, a character we know nothing about is the main character. All that we know about her is that she goes through a cleansing period with the blight and all.

I'm sorry, when was it confirmed the entity was a girl? I really want to know (plz source)

It's not really confirmed but it is potentially of a female gender.

xD no if a french word finish by ''-té'' that doesn't mean it's a female chara but in french we use -l'- so it means that we don't know its gender.
    From a french guy

Tell that to the guy who made the wiki, I'm going off of what the wiki says.

In french we use -le- for male and -la- for female but when a word start with a vowel we use -l'-. In that case we don't know if it's a female or a male. The Entity (Entité in french) starts with a vowel so we use -l'- to designate it so in french it's genderless.

to be honest, the entity being female does seem more interesting than male...
Genderless makes the most sense though.
If the Entity is slowly learning about the real world, I wonder what more things could it bring into It's realm...

If you don't understand, you know when you get hooked, and you're the last survivor? You know how, even if this is your first hook, you are then killed instantly? Well, this is what I mean... I find it quite bad as it means you have no chance from there... You can't even get your struggle points, nevermind attempting escape and maybe getting that miraculous kobe where the killer then bows down to the lord oh saviour... I found it kinda ridiculous... I think you should be hooked as normal and, if it's your first hook, you can attampot escape or if it's your second, you can get those struggle points...
I think this should be in the game in case we got any deliverence users or any lucky guys to, at least, give them a chance to escape... E.g. the killer is coc.ky and puts you on a hook next to the hatch... You'd currently just die... If this was added in, you could attempt escape and hopefully get that hatch (if not, you get the struggle points)...
    What do you think?

I agree to if characters have slippery meat or deliverance, but against no other perks like that, just struggling gives only up to 800 bloodpoints, and uses up the killer's time.

  • Hey, almost there to 1000!

    1 wishlist:

MORE PLACES TO HIDE LIKE IN HORROR MOVIES (e.g. closets, beds, etc)
And please nerf barbecue and chili XD

  • I don't know, I don't really like the nerf to decisive strike, but I feel like killers should always be dominant to wins. With their powers and brute strength and speed, it does make sense that the win rate is 40%. I just don't really like the nerf to decisive strike, since it can be used only once per match anyway. :/
I thought Decisive strike was fair enough, with just one more chance to escape.

  • I do agree that all the characters are the main protagonists by themselves, but the most main character-like has to be Laurie or Dwight. Most minor feels like Jeff and Quentin.

  • I don't know, in a situation like that, I would sprint out when you think the killer is far enough.

I don't know if this might take too much programming or what not, and I am still pretty new to this awesome game, but
what if there were new game mechanics for survivors to hide? I have been thinking of beds in more urban maps, being able to close and lock doors, opening and closing windows and closets. This would be perfect for scenarios with some of the maps, like the preschool one. All of these should take the same amount of time to check lockers for killers. And I think the doors should be able to be broken down, with the survivor be able to struggle to keep the door closed. Windows can be opened and closed to trick killers or survivors, and should take time to open them. I think anyone can also break it, but for survivors, it should cause a bleeding effect without being in the injured state. The closet would probably be the same as a locker, only less obvious inside a building. These should only be in very few maps though, they can't be too OP.

Just pallets and lockers cannot be the only strategies against killers, there should be more game mechanics relating to horror movies. If horror movie characters can attempt to hide in these scenarios, why not these survivors?
I would still keep only pallets and lockers for outside maps, like the farm and the estate.

Thanks for reading. :D Just an idea, probably terrible if viewed by professional standpoints...Preparing for ridicule and criticism
    Have a great weekend/day too :)

I had a really odd idea. So we have windows right? why not LADDERS. only survivors can climb (it takes 2-3 seconds) and stay in for a limited amount of time to say, pop an insta heal, get a flash blind then BL off, get their bearings, or just recover from exhaustion.

Ladders? I feel like that would be a thing in farm maps, etc, and but it should be a thing that the killer can easily grab you from

Yea, probably, but only if you can spot me P3 claudette mode activate
