😂 boohoo yeah your facts are hypocritical yall say this to us and we are getting back our justice. You whine just as us survivors do.

Maybe finish primary education if you think you're the one with facts or that you're using 'hypocritical' correctly.

You can actually miss the skill check the first try and save it for the second hook. Just don’t attempt to hit it the first time.
I know. That's what I do if I'm using it - typically for a stun challenge. However, a "free DS" would need a way to keep that functionality, y'know?

Darling you qouted me first in this and another post, I didnt qoute you first so get your facts right.
My facts are right, whereas yours are lackluster as usual - you quoted someone who was talking about me, and were talking about me to them. I'm flattered, kid.
Still: your "taste of killer's medicine" about the tired 'do bones' nonsense (which yes, is a bad response to NOED gripes) rightfully gets called out as a false equivalence every time I've seen you pull it out.
-
I mean.. Killer main here, and I was playing with every version of DS over the years.
Sure. Give the DS for free. Better yet, let them choose to use it on first or second hook, just pressing E during a prompt when they first get picked up. Anything's better than how the old days were.

You try so hard to sound funny but I will give you an A for attempt and an E for Effort. Mean while continue your enragement about survivors please instead of learning to counter the taste of your own medicine . You must be obsessed with me if you always gotta qoute me so much.
This is what, the second time? You're the one talking about me, boo. It's okay, projection can become healthy if you let it.
"Your own medicine" still doesn't apply. You're asking killers to tunnel out the blesser by telling them to do bones - a snuff just isn't equivalent to a cleanse, no matter how many times you choose to lie about it.
-
Considering your continued reported experience, being a miniscule escape chance against impossible odds, I find it strange that the lowest echelons of MMR would be facing full meta builds in the first place. Maybe write your fiction better.

There's no doubt: I have no particular positive feelings towards polls.

isnt that what killers been telling us for years about noed counter? must be nice for them to take a nice taste of their own medicine.
If you're gonna try to call out hypocrisy, try to have your example be actual hypocrisy rather than your typical bad faith, a'ight?

Yes please. QoL is something they said they'd be focusing on this year, but all it's been is lateral tweaks, minor fixes, shadow-nerfs, and getting in bed with shady companies.

Well, I won't argue with the conclusion- I actually agree that a fusion of the MMR system as it stands and the emblem system is a good idea, though I'd probably go about it differently. The part I'm confused on is how the current system punishes you for succeeding in the game?
Get kills: get trials where it's harder to kill. Keep getting kills: either it gets so hard to get kills that you're getting bullied, or you hit the soft ceiling and deal with hackers on a daily basis.
Escape: get trials where it's harder to escape. Keep escaping: same story.
At least with Ranked we had a more even mix of potatoes and sweat squads. Now the game is either settling into strata, which does work for some, or it's rubberbanding for others like myself.
Addendum: I think a perfect MMR would not only take into account your present emblem score, past emblem average, and the averages of your teammates/opponent, it would ideally also calculate your placement based on which perks you run, which items survivors bring, and the various addons in the trial.

I'm not sure I see where you're coming from on this one- isn't the problem with the MMR system that it only takes into account whether you succeeded, and not how much skill you put into doing so?
On top of that, the emblem system actually did punish you for succeeding, if you did it too quickly or too efficiently. Could you elaborate?
That is a problem with MMR, not the only problem. However, ranks/grades have never meant anything, so phooey on the Ranked matchmaking that came before too.
Thing is, the emblem score system already in the game and used for the rank/grade up and rank down system was a fairly good measure of trial interaction, save places where some killers/actions weren't calibrated correctly within the confines of the scoring events. I'm not saying the emblem system is perfect, by any means, and it definitely needs tuning - but it's at least more intensive, is no more exploitable than the current system under Escape-Based Match Making of Blendettes and facecamps being actively encouraged, and would serve as a better measure not just of results but of actual play.
To more completely summarize: a cumulative emblem-based MMR, where your own averages adjust your proportionate score relative to the averages of the others in the trial, seems to be where the sweet spot would be.

It's the only thing we really have. Killer mains on here would have you believe that playing killer is almost impossible and survivors are super OP. Yet, the stats say otherwise. Of course it's not 100% accurate, but surely the stats would show a lower kill rate if the game was that unbalanced... right? Idk. I personally think it's pretty balanced right now (solo's could even use a buff).
SoloQ could always use a buff - but no, the stats aren't even close to useful because they don't account for tiers of play. Each killer's got inherently padded numbers simply because of the number of people who have no idea what they're doing or don't care.

Same feeling, I play him for a switch up but he just feels worse in every aspect than other killers that do the same thing.
I will say I do not dislike playing him or playing against him - unlike Huntresses, who are my Achilles heel: love her, fear her, know I shouldn't do either.
Trickster is only strictly worse than the others if you try to use his power to start a chase. I have much more effect if I'm using him to end chases - even the new DH doesn't matter to spooled up throwing knives. It's similar to people who think Hillbilly's at his best when you're using his chainsaw for downs, rather than for zoning.

@sizzlingmario4 said:
Question for people who actually play trickster.
What do you enjoy about him that doesn’t make you ask yourself “why not just play huntress instead”?
Personally I don’t play him, but he’s definitely not fun to play against.
I'm not a Trickster main, but I play Trickster to develop my aim for Deathslinger and Huntress. He's far less accurate, often feels less mobile, and frankly has more counterplay - because he's less functional in basekit, I get better at all the ranged killers when using him.

BattlEye level anticheat with appropriate game logs, and if I get that second one let's change Escape-Based Match Making to Emblem-Based Match Making - you can still have an MMR, but based on how well you actually do.

Very much disagree. You can certainly tell the difference between someone with 400 hours and thousands of hours. I'd say if you play regularly then 1500-2000~ hours in the game is when the difference compared to someone with e.g. 5000 hours becomes less apparent.
It's really hard to explain but generally players with 400 hours don't know the ins and outs of the game and its mechanics. And there is a LOT to cover. They often don't look behind them in chases; they don't have all perks on all killers. They don't know every loop and thus must watch where their going - whereas experienced players can look at (or for) the killer the entire time around loops, they know how smooth the loops are and their layout.
E.g. I know it's best not to hug one of the shack corners on Dead Dawg Saloon because you'll probably get stuck. I know you probably shouldn't hug stairs when running down them as a survivor since you might end up bugging and falling slightly. I know you shouldn't hug the broken boat under the small building in Grim Pantry since you can be hit over it, etc. Someone with 400 hours hasn't experienced the game enough to know its ins and outs.
There's also an awful lot of situational awareness you need to have in this game which only comes with a lot of experience. A simple example of this is that when it's a 2v1 with a few gens left you should let the survivor die on the hook. If you are the survivor on the hook, you should not hit the skillchecks in order to die faster - you shouldn't press any key. If you unhook in the example above, the chances are you'll both die, instead of just one of you.
I could continue giving examples but I'll stop at this point. Hopefully my post has not come across as arrogant as that is not my intention.
TBH, at this point in my survivor rounds I don't even look at the killer half the time while looping, instead checking totem spawns or trying to gauge where people's gens are so I don't sandbag. One time I started reading the headlines on the wall in one of the shack expies. If it's a Nurse I jerk to the left at the audio cue, if it's a Blight I go right, and other killers all have juke tricks - save Huntresses, I can dodge a hatchet but for some reason her M1 is my kryptonite :P
Like I said in my first reply, a lot of it is muscle memory, which a new player just can't have.

I find it ironic that you call someone else dishonest, while simultaneously showing your complete bias in the very first paragraph of this post lol.
I'm a very competent survivor, as are others, and the reality is that if you're solo, it doesn't matter how good you are most of the time.
The reality is that a competent survivor can escape in SoloQ, it's just that the power balance has always run Solo < Killer < SWF. Bad teammates will hand a snowball to a killer, sure, but you're not being paired with teammates in SoloQ who're significantly worse than you; bearing in mind that MMR is a trash system, so "worse" probably just means "more successful" to the system. It also escapes a lot of people that SoloQ meta should be different than SWF meta: to make up for that power imbalance, more information and escape perks need to be on the table.
Rank/Iri 1, both killer and survivor, consistent for quite a long time - that doesn't mean I'm "good", it means I play(ed) a lot. I'm bringing it up specifically because I'm saying no matter the tier of play there'll be potatoes, but by most metrics the potatoes you're being paired with now are supposed to be at your level. If they're handing the game to a killer, they're doing so despite being supposedly at your level.
And go through Juny's history. At least Sluzzy tries, rather than just ranting with hyperbolic numbers.

I can tell you for a fact they were all running dead hard, some BT, some DS and I forget the rest. MMR is not a concerning factor to me, regardless of how you feel about it. I'm saying the game is still winnable. No reason to give up.
Trash players can be a full meta SWF in "red ranks" and still be trash due to how the grade system functions. If you, as a Pig, ran one perk against a meta squad - they either weren't trying to escape, or your MMR was low.
-
Why are survivors crying when higher tiers of play favour them? Even mid-tier survivors with any basic competence can loop, juke, and escape as a whole - if you're not doing so, you're not even mid-tier.
If BHVR releases a kill-rate by rank/MMR, you'll know how little the blanket "50-70% kill rate" means.

I dont see where you have the numbers to support this. I've played more than a handful of survivor groups and they dont always make it. Even then I average 2 kills. So I'm not sure where this 5% comes from.
Don't take Juny seriously, they're never honest or forthright.
-
High hours != Good.
However, low hours = bad.
Without experience, one cannot have knowledge and muscle memory. More experience does not mean one will have gained that knowledge or formed that muscle memory, but a lack of that experience does guarantee a lack of game-sense.

What does this have to do with hackers and why should people sweat ? If they want to stress themselves, let them do it. I don't do that because I don't care about the MMR. It is not important how high you are in the MMR. You can't see the hidden number anyway.
Whether you want to admit it or not, SBMM as implemented in DBD doesn't exist in a vacuum. The online space is riddled with hackers - who can both see and manipulate MMR - who are rewarded by the overly simplistic MMR system. Escapes/Kills are not and have never been a decent measure of skill, which the DBD devs acknowledged the first time they tried this system; which they scrapped, citing its failure.
As things stand, success in the game, for either role, raises MMR. Thus, those who succeed legitimately are being uplifted right alongside and toward the tiers of MMR which hold the most hackers.
You liking the system is fine. It's been a success for some. Pretending that those successes aren't isolated incidents, subjective, and unrepresentative of the whole is just dishonest.
-
@PNgamer said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2614266#Comment_2614266
exactly !!! but most people don't understand that. They simply relate everything to the word skill
What you don't seem to understand is that the system is thus assigning negative consequence to people who succeed - because having to sweat, in either role, is not particularly enjoyable for a vast crowd - and in the current climate of DBD, that's putting a lot of us who succeed against hackers on a daily basis.
-

I don't get people saying saying he's low tier... I run into Myers more than almost any killer in gold rank. He's an absolute monster.
"Gold Rank" has nothing to do with tiers of play. The grade system is just a measure of emblem progress, not high/low level play.
The previous ranking system was similarly oversaturated, but it was better than what we have now.

That would be good. I think that should also be tested.
That wasn't really the point of my experiment. My point was to see if cleansing all 5 totems as a Solo Q player is feasible and how often it happens.
I getcha. As I said in what I think was the thread that sparked your interest, I think most survivors should take it on themselves to be responsible for 2 totem locations - by rote, that'd mean all 5 get covered even without communication. My SWF team, even when we're doing SoloQ, tries to stick to that rule.
I'm just intrigued by your data and think another data set of related data would be interesting.
-
I think I'll do similar, with a subset of the data being about only the games where NOED procs and a separate figure being the number of games with NOED.
-
So what Legion could have been?
-
I'd be down for a few more idle animations regardless of character or role. I do think Claudette reading a book might be an issue of potentially failing the silhouette test - but clipping a plant and bottling a sample would be cool. Maybe Yun-Jin could mess with a tape deck, or similar. Maybe Ghost Face could check his camera's saved pictures.
-
I like'em simply because I've started a habit of completely changing my builds to devote to challenges - spice of life, and all that.

I'm not sure I agree about Twins being built for tunneling, but I do agree about addon variety.
Twins is more heavily built for camping, but 'efficient' use of victor is for a hidden tunnel/slug in mid-tier trials. Again, neither Pig nor Twins is at their best when tunneling, or camping, but they suggest it through addon and power design in a way that's comparatively intuitive to new/inexperienced users.
-
The 'strategy' of a tunnel is the same nonsense most killers feed themselves, just with added RBT pressure.
It's a lil unfortunate that a majority of her addons only affect RBTs, because her basekit kinda encourages tunnels, similar to Twins. Even the addons regarding the Jigsaw Boxes still encourage focusing already trapped survivors.
I wish she had more variety in her addon focuses, so that the soft cap of her skill ceiling wouldn't have so many young piggies plateau at the camp and tunnel stage of killer development, but it's just what's there.
As you get higher in MMR/Rank/tiers of play, you'll find more aggressive playstyles of Pig that aren't held back by this plateau, but the crux is: she's difficult to play as, is pushed toward that style, and players without too many options or too little experience will feel they kinda have to tunnel.

I've gotten grabs and interrupts, still. You have to get them pretty early in the animation sequence, though.

I never really thought I was stating my stuff as fact, just stating obvious points. If we look at this last patch, it was most definitely killer sided if anything. I know it is my opinion, but I am still gonna support that opinion.
When you're saying "needs education", "false", and "lies", especially on subjective experience, you're perpetuating the falsehoods and inherently giving the implication that your points are 'the facts of the situation' - they're simply not.
Your comments on the last patch are false, too, except under the pretense that fixes, patches, and passes happen in isolation. There's some strong killer-sided changes, sure: they mirror survivor-sided patches which came a year ago, and come along with some pretty nice survivor buffs.
-

I never said all the complaints weren't true, again my post said it is completely fine to be upset and complain about stuff, it is the stuff of people spreading just false information about why the devs think they do things that is a little out of hand.
You say that you see a lot of killers complaining about the survivor-sided nature of development, with "only making killers worse" and "gutting characters for no reason". Asserting that that's not true doesn't make it so, and asserting that DS's nerfs were because he was unhealthy for the game also doesn't make that true.
While yes, hyperbolic statements like devs only side with survivors or only hurt killers are inherently false, there's a very real trend toward favouring survivors. It's also unhealthy for the game to gloss over issues with development or ascribe false issues, especially ones based on subjective experiences - and no, it's not helpful to say stuff like "people saying the spirit nerf was unjustified are being silly".
You also class Boons as a secondary objective; you're wrong to do so. It's an optional benefit, not a secondary objective - the latter would mean it was required in some capacity for success or expedited success.
TL:DR - Your opinions are just that. Not fact. Not evidence. Not particularly relevant except as talking points, so just present them as that without pretending that disagreement is lies and misinformation.

Not really acting defensive, just saying that the constant complaints are a tad annoying when they aren't even true. I do experience the same issues, I just think they are either not really issues with the thing itself, or are things that I as a player can change and they don't require constant fact checking lol
Your assertion that the complaints are not true is not, itself, true.

I don't know that I'd call this particularly defensive? If anything, it reads as slightly annoyed, but that's not quite the same thing.
Regardless, I also don't see any indication that this person doesn't experience the issues people are complaining about, it actually seems like they do and just have a different take on what the appropriate reaction to those issues are. Take the boon example- seems like they do understand that boons have some negative qualities to comment on, but disagree that boons themselves are the cause.
Please refer to OP's responses throughout the thread, which are much less level-headed than the first post.
-
A series of luke-warm takes from someone who doesn't experience the issues people complain about isn't any indication you should be listened to, especially with your dismissive commentary after the fact.
Yeah, people overreact. Then there's people who react defensively, like you.
