I would have rather gotten nothing than and the costumes on the store than having a super lame event like this
-
No. They hyped up a Halloween event and it's really lame. We aren't going to kiss ass just because they decided to give us 1 costume. It wouldn't have been an issue if they just put the costumes on the store. The problem is they hyped up this event where we could grind for cosmetics and have a fun time.. when in reality it's just a glorified marketing technique to get us to buy more costumes. It's a really sublar event that they say overhyped.Doc_W__HOLLIDAY said:Can we show the devs a little bit of gratitude please? They don't HAVE to give us jack #########. However, they are and I'm grateful for that. Thanks guys!
-
You don't. They don't listen to us very much.JesusOnWheels said:How do you actually get behaviour to look and consider something like this though?
Doubting they read this.6/21 would be a fair compromise. I, like many others, would love to grind out 2 sets.
-
Yea it's hard to get excited about anything in this game. I was really hyped for this event but quickly lost interest. I was really hyped account leveling until I realized it does nothing at all. Have been hyped for ds rework... stil nothing. They are great at killing their own hypeItsYourBoyGuzma said:

Yeah, i feel the same way. This should be their event of the year, halloween is the event for DBD. They screwed themself on this one tbh. I saw myself grinding 2 weeks to get some wel earned skins and beeing proud of them. Now that you are aware that any player can buy them of the store just doens't feel that much rewarding anymore. I dont get it why they wanna trade excitement for cash, there are no terms of fulfillment on this event, it's really sadMathieu even proclaimed how this event was their "greatest" one yet.
I am not even disappointed. This is the short of ######### I expect from DbD nowadays. -
Agreed. When i heard the news most of my excitement for the event went away. I'll play it to unlock stuff but will likely just stop after i get it.

Leaderboards are a terrible idea. It's just going to result in everyone only playing Nurse and Billy to get the top of the leaderboards. I do agree that we need a nde form of progression. I thought that devotion would be progression but they ended up doing nothing with it. If they tied in rewards to devotion it would give people a reason to continue playing every day. Instead of playing for events, getting the items, and logging out.
-
You don't balance things based on how they are played at the middle/lower levels. You balance characters around how strong they are on the highest levels. And Nurse is unreasonably overpowered at the highest levels.

If the nurse plays well she is going to win and there isn't anything you can do about it. The only way you win vs Nurse is if she plays poorly and makes mistakes.
Matches against the Nurse are a matter of skill. If you lose, it means the other player was better than you.
No it isn't lmao. There are zero good, valid arguments that can be made for Nurse being a skill matchup.
nurse does have a valid argument, you need to know how to use her, if not your screwed
That's not a valid argument. With Nurse you learn how to blink and you win every single time. That's not balance. Having to have a moderate amount of skill at something to always win is not balance. There is not a single competitive video game that has a character that works that way. There is not a single character in LoL or Dota that has an insanely high win rate in high ranks. In League atm the character with the highest win rate is sitting at 54%. I would be willing to bet that anyone who has over 40 hours on Nurse and is in rank 1 probably has at least an 80% win rate on Nurse. If not even higher than that. That's not balance.

Probably BHVR's reaction to the uncontrolled hype surrounding the Spirit's release. I bet they don't want the event hype to cause unrest, again.
They can't remove information from the Wiki. The wiki is part of free speech/fair use. If it was removed it was likely that whoever was in charge of it learned that information they put on the site was false/inaccurate and decided to take it down.
Where was the source of the information anyway...?
It was so detailed it seemed fake.
Could be data mining, could be an employee, could be other methods. Not 100% sure. They tend to not post things if they aren't pretty sure the information is correct. Even then they usually post a disclaimer
I would've assumed data mining if it wasn't posted so early in advance...
I dunno, I'm skeptical, ever since that whole release date fiasco. People were furious, so I think it's irresponsible to post information like that without their source being crystal clear.
The whole release date thing wasn't really any fault of the wiki page. It was on the Devs for not saying anything at all. That's what spawned all the outrage. The wiki is under no obligation to withhold information out of fear of displeasing the community if it's somehow false. They just post information that they deem credible enough.
-
Does anyone know the start date for the event? Have they announced/said anything about it?

There's really not a lot to counter flashlights. The only real way you can do it if you want to hook someone is to face a wall when you go for the grab. Obviously not every flashlight user is good. But when you're facing a SWF team that is all running flashlights. There's no other way to counter it. Wait till you down one next to a wall. Move your camera or walk to the hook backwards. Put them on the hook. Face camp the person.I'm very against camping myself. But at this point there's nothing wrong with just face camping them. They don't care that you're not getting points for hooking survivors. And if you let that person off the hook. It's just going to be a struggle to get the next person to one. Slowly face camp until they're all dead. Even if you face camp... They'll stay around the hook and not work on gens. You lose 0 time in these situations.
You are actually right in this, sorta. The "Bully Groups" tend to ignore gens, unless they are gen tapping and teabagging you. and will usual;y try to brute force a hook. Sometimes I can get more hooks, if they aren't survivor gods.
However I think it's dumb that I get punished in this situation next patch. If theres 2 people trying to unhook, it makes sense to stay near the hook, and try for a second hook. (or even third!)

THANK YOU to whoever posted the flasdhlight tutorial. Finding semi-recent guides for this game has been... Hard. There's almost no community. it's like it's well known this is an unballanced game or something...
If someone is in range of the hook (i think) you don't lose any of your emblem progress. But if they are out of the (i think it's 16m) range and are waiting for you to leave then you are just going to lose a lot of points. I'm assuming the idea behind this is that it's incredibly unfun way to play and they also reduced the time it takes to heal which should extend the game so you won't have to worry as much about them getting unhooked. I think the change is ok but I will actually have to play the patch and see for myself on launch. I find camping incredibly boring from both sides of the hook.

Next patch you are going to lose emblem points if you stay close to the survivor. So face camping them is going to be boring for both sides and keep him from pipping. A better solution is to just slug them (if they are swf using flashlights or more than 1 person has a flashlight) and go after the others. If it's one person using a flashlight just face a wall or possibly slug if you have to.
-
They should be doing it on all platforms. It's a % based tho. So someone has to leave in a high enough % of their games for them to get the temp ban
-
face a wall, slug and go after whoever is nearby with a flashlight, or take lightborn.

People play this game for the horror aspect of the game. If this game wasn't horror it would have died long ago because of it's imbalances. Deathgarden has awful graphics, boring/repetitive gameplay, and no sense of progression. There's no real reason to play it for DBD fans and it isn't appealing at all to non-DBD fans. It has no market. They might as well save themselves some more money and drop the game now and cut their losses. And I can say first hand that people do not spend money on a game that they feel is unbalanced and not fun. If the casual player is getting upset/frustrated/etc relatively soon after playing, they aren't going to spend money on anything. A game I used to play a lot (Marvel Heroes) shut down because they pissed off most of their fan base with decisions they made and everyone stopped giving them money. So Marvel took their license away. Have to make smart business decisions and companies are doing less and less of that it seems.
I'm an Overwatch player since launch day. I followed Deathgarden, but never bought it. Here's why. I looked at the Runners with their movement abilities, wall-climbing, et cetera and immediately thought: Okay, so BHVR is trying to take a few elements from Overwatch, the popular kid on the block, and make a new DBD-style game with it.
Soon as I saw the Runners move, all I could see was that they obviously watched how Genji moves.
Then I considered their already stellar reputation for balancing DBD, and never gave Deathgarden a second look. I figured Civilization would be a better alternative.

You are absolutely correct. The horror element is what sells DBD.
As far as the progression? I'm a new player, and very behind the curve. The Bloodpoint grind for Teachables on so many characters needed for decent builds, and then the RNG of the bloodweb on will they actually appear for the other characters, is asinine. I will hit Rank 15-10 before I even have Perks needed for builds to play effectively even at those green ranks, especially thanks to monthly rank resets and normally deranking Vets.
The progression system in DBD, 2+ years after launch, is not new player friendly at all. It's a new player turn-off, at least for me and my friends (we're all in our 40s). I've actually started playing more Overwatch again as a result. If I want this kind of new player grind and Vet griefing, there are Asian MMOs for that.
Yea I agree that the DBD perk system isn't new player friendly at all. But, it at least has something for players to grind for and feel rewarded once they get it. Deathgarden only has a few cosmetics and that's it. Games like overwatch can get away with it because it's more of a competitive mulitplayer style game. Same as LoL and Dota. Games like DBD and Deathgarden will decline in players when those players feel like they have nothing to play for/work for. DBD has an amazing opportunity to do something fun and awesome with devotion. But, they have currently made account leveling as lame as they possibly can. There are zero rewards outside of currency you need to get stuff from the store. And that was just moved from one place to another. DBD has a lot of opportunities to do great things but they don't appear that they want to atm.

Then they need to remove the option to leave while in game instead of misleading people . And according to you buying a product and playing it in your own home doesn’t make it legitimately yours, so you cant turn it off whenever you want because it’s ruining others gaming experience because of how you want to use your own product you’ve paid for? what im insinuating is they should issue refunds if this is the direction they’re going with.
If you don't want to be banned, follow the rules. It's that simple. What you're insinuating is that you think you should be allowed to ######### on everyone else's experience without any real consequence.
Then there should be consequences taken against bhvr for the glitchs and bugs while in game because im not having fun when someone is exploiting or cheating especially when someones ping goes from 75 to 400 and im teleportation you think im having fun ??
The ping issue will never be resolved unless they get dedicated servers. They will never do this no matter how needed it is or how much we beg for it. It's expensive and they don't want to spend the money on it.
Let's not also forget that Behavior just took a huge bath on Deathgarden. I'm pretty sure that dinged their financials a bit. It's going to be interesting to see what they can do in DBD over the course of the next year. Yeah, I know their Steam Charts numbers have risen a bit, but that means squat if the players aren't buying the DLCs and/or Auric Cells. Making purchases is the bottom line that matters.

Honestly people wouldn't even want to de rank if they reworked/gutted the nurse, nerfed Billy, and extended the games. The game becomes almost unplayable on both sides with how unfun it is at low ranks. Either super sweaty survivors extend loops for a long time and you lose off gens being done while you are chasing someone for a long time. Or, you play the of the top tier killers and become really oppressive for survivors to play against. The game is always really unbalanced for one side or the other. And it's incredibly frustrating and not fun to encounter this. I don't blame anyone for de ranking. Those Killers are fine. You need to learn how to counter them instead of trying to pallet loop your way to an easy win.
The nurse is not fine. At all. She is so stupidly overpowered that it's pathetic the Devs haven't gutted her yet. The most unbalanced character i have ever encountered in a game. And the only thing they really need to nerf on Billy is his cross map mobility. If they fix that he will be fine.

They don't need to make other killers higher tier. They just need to actually do something with how stupidly overpowered the nurse is. She needs a full blown rework to actually see any meaningful balance. The solution is never to just buff killers to the point of being overpowered. That just makes the game incredibly unfun for survivors. I already dodge every single nurse game because it's impossible to have fun vs. Making other killers overpowered would just take away fun from the game. Instead, they just need to figure out a way/ways to increase the length of the game and people will be more willing to not play the same 3 killers in rank 1.I for one enjoy going against the Nurse. I feel the nurse is perfectly balanced. she is hard to go against yes and in some killers hands she is outright lethal but all the killers should be. I say this as a Survivor main. I am sick of just seeing only Nurses and Billys in the higher ranks. even though them are the only matches that really can go either way. as i said over and over in the spirits ptb. they need to make more killers higher tier. the nurse is perfectly fine how she is. you just need to learn to play against her. you have to go against her differently. sadly most survivors will not bother to attempt to get good at playing against the nurse they DC out. then cry about how OP she is when in reality shes the most balanced killer out there.
you can't honestly think the Nurse is balanced? She is legitimately the most unbalanced character in any game i have ever played. What rank are you? There is no way you are in red ranks and think the Nurse is balanced. If every killer was Nurse tier the game would be dead. No one would play it. It would have about as many players as Deathgarden does right now

We are aiming for a release next week on all platform. That doesn't mean it will be simultaneous / same day. If we are running into delays, the Community will be informed.Even if it was a few day difference my previous comments still stand. It takes a week or so to get approved on consoles. He thinks noed should be out of the game as well as DS
Noed has direct counterplay. DS doesn't.

Trying to synchronize releases is common with most games. If console had to wait 2 and a half weeks to a month for the clown last time, I think you guys will survive one extra week. And that's only IF it was ready last week.
"trying to syn releases is common with most games" But it isn't. Look at games like Elder Scrolls online or other similar games that have both pc and console versions. Pc often gets the update weeks in advance. Sometimes even longer. And console had to wait because of issues with their system, not because of other's people's issues.

What they should do is just release the pc version whenever it is ready. Give us a time frame of when they think that will happen. Then, do the best they can to get the console version out as soon as possible. It would be cool if consoles could get the update at time same time as pc, but it's incredibly stupid to force pc to wait an extra week or two for no reason other than the fact that they want to wait for console approval.

I agree with removing the word "Soon" for the same reason as you. But the "EXACT" date would be near impossible due to set backs that can occur, which would very obviously end up in a delay. The devs don't know 100% when they can implement the updates, It's the same thing that happened with the Clown and the shop, they had no idea when it would get approved. The problem that they really need to fix is their lack of communication with the community, and based on a comment I saw from not-Queen it seems they are trying to fix that.
The problem here is that they are purposely delaying the pc launch just to try and not make console players mad. Pc players shouldn't be punished because of consoles problems. They could very easily give concrete release dates (occasional delay due to bugs) if they didn't worry about console players being upset.

The issue of getting lobbies rank 20-16 is because it's too easy to pip now everyone runs out of those ranks causing long wait times for newer players and allowing still inexperienced players to be matched with more experienced players..exactly. You don't depip until rank 15 so all anyone has to do is play for a few days and they hit rank 15. So any new player is going to be pressed to find lobbies depending on the region/time they play. I think once you hit rank 15 you should't be able to depip past it. But, you should still be able to depip until you get there.

If the game starts out as a 3v1, there is one less generator to repair, meaning survivors only need to repair 4 generators to power the Exit Gates, but with one less person. If there are less players, the killer MIGHT spare you because of the person that DC'd or did not load in.
I have only ever seen one time where a game started 1v1.
As a killer I always just let the survivors farm and escape. But in the games I play as survivor the killer normally plays like his entire family's lives are on the line if he doesn't win as fast as possible. Had a nurse hard camp in a 2v1 before. There are 4 generators instead of 5 but having 3 people is such a massive disadvantage that it rarely ever matters. There hasn't been a single game as killer that I have not/would not have won in a game that started 3v1 (if I didn't let them escape)

I'm most excited for the fixes to the stupidly long loops. But I am also really excited for the Spirit and new cosmetics.

Also have to take into account the potential of future profits with things like microtransactions. The amount they would have to be paid would have to be worth them giving up a constant revenue stream of people buying microtransactions. Console exclusives don't typically rely on microtransactions as much for revenue. Fort the most part they are buy to play with a handful of DLCs.

I will have to agree with a version 2 of the game . As time passes better graphics become available and better engines , so if things start to die off here they would be able to make a new setting different modes , correct issues of the past and start a new world with new ideas a lot easier . This coupled with new graphics and a new engine would seem the most logical .Then again if it has enough of a following it could last . I know this is a mmo im about to mention and not the same type of game , but origin systems launched a game using a 2d overhead graphics back in 97 called Ultima Online and it is still alive today , so anything is possible .
Making a 2nd game purely for a graphics update isn't going to happen. It's the reason why WoW 2 isn't a thing. It would take so much time, money, and investment to make a second game. The only way they would ever make a 2nd game is if there was a core thing that they wanted to do to the game that the current engine wouldn't allow.
Or another company pays them to make a sequel exclusive to their console.
They won't do that. Neither console would ever pay them enough money to warrant losing the pc playerbase.
You never know. Capcom got paid an undisclosed amount to make Street Fighter V exclusive to PS4 and PC. All I'm saying is never say never.
Street Fighter is a major franchise. They more than likely got paid tens of millions of dollars to do that. Dead by Daylight would have to get drastically more players/sales for a company to pay that kind of money to be exclusive. They would have to pay them more money than they earn from the platform they are losing. I am willing to bet that pc is the biggest platform for dbd by far. (money wise). The chances of it happening are so low that it's not really worth talking about.

Since when did they confirm game modes coming out?In the last stream or something like that someone asked about alternate game modes. They said that they were working on having limited game modes for stuff like events. That doesn't mean that they are currently working on a specific game mode. Just that they want to have event game modes in the future and are most likely in the early stages of development/design

I know DBD isn’t going to end any time soon burn this is a question I’ve always wondered.... Are they gonna keep making killers and survivors till the game dies or what? What’s the endgame? They are going to keep making new characters/updates/balancing until the game dies. The same way every single other multiplayer game does. There is no "end game" for a game that has no perceived end.

Its because they are a SWF (survive with friends) group and if a high rank player is with his low rank friend then they can be matched with nearly any rank killer.Just one on the reasons people don't like SWF. Honestly rank should be removed completely.
And what I am supposed to do against that? How can I disable playing against such SWF?
you can't. It's awful pairings on the devs part. Nothing you can do about it.

There are way simpler and more balanced ways to go about this. Not to mention the amount of time it would take to add blood effects to each map

I’ve only been her for a little over a month and it seems like every day I see at least two rants about how this survivor / killer was toxic. While I understand the need to vent some frustration we also need to keep in mind that not every player of the game visits or even knows about the forums therefore they also don’t know that what they are doing is wrong. So what I am asking of you is instead of not saying anything to said player, take the time to send them a “polite” message explaining to them what they are doing and how it is affecting the other players and or the game. It really only takes a few minutes to do this and by being “polite” you just might be able to show an unknowing individual something that they had no idea was viewed as wrong or toxic. Will you get some nasty feedback….of course you will, but this is where WE need to do the right thing and not feed the fire. Just ignore those who wish to not be receptive to your “politeness” because they just want to be toxic no matter what you do or say. Will this completely fix the problem….of course not, but it can and will make a difference and it could spread just as easily as being toxic. This suggestion does truly work for an example, I was playing survivor for my daily 300 xp bonus and I was facing a killer who appeared to be very new to the game. I was the first to be hooked and he just stood there and hit me continually while I was on the hook until another survivor caught his eye. I eventually was rescued from the hook only to get downed and put right back on the hook. He then did the same exact thing, but this time I just gave up and let the sacrifice happen. I was pretty fired up and really wanted to give this person a piece of my mind, but instead sent the killer a “polite” message explaining to him that hitting survivors that are on the hook is very frowned upon and that it does absolutely nothing for the game. I then proceeded to spectate the rest of the match and guess what happened…..yep the killer actually read the message and was no longer hitting the hooked survivors. All it took was me taking a little time out of my game play to send a “polite” message to someone who had no idea that they were doing something wrong.
The problem is that at your rank this would work out fine. But when you get to lower ranks the "toxic" people just want to be dicks. Talking to them nicely/at all won't accomplish anything because they know what they are doing is toxic and are doing it on purpose (most of the time) Stuff like sandbagging you so the killer can hit you, facecamping, tbag spam, etc. These are all done purposely with the intention of trying to annoy someone. There really isn't anything anyone can do to stop "toxic" behavior. Toxicity is only amplified in post game chat as well. People get off on being as toxic as they can and will only laugh and any kind of gentleman's approach.

It's been nearly 3 weeks since PTB.They delayed the pc launch so they could launch the chapter on all platforms at the same time. It takes a little while for the update to get approved for consoles and that's almost 100% what we are waiting on. (even if they won't openly admit it) So if it's already approved then we will get the update tomorrow. If it's not then it will likely be Thursday.

In my opinion the clowns is a bit to over powered because he is way too fast and there is no counter to his power with is speed being extreamly fastHe has baseline speed for killers. Anything less than what he has would result in him being pretty awful. His power does really well vs loops/people running in straight lines. Have to try and bait out his bottles before he gets too close too you. Gotta learn how to play against him.
