  • If its down to the last 2, and the hatch is in play, either the killer slugs, or camps. There isnt much else they can do, I highly doubt you were doing gens.

  • I am p3 with her and been hovering around ranks 3-4, and the cooldown reduction is great, she's very perk dependant but blood is as unreliable as scratchmarks, just soumdwhore with stridor and only Sprint after injured people, been working pretty well so far.
  • How doe's needing to hook each survivor at least once encourage camping again? If anything it avoids tunnelling.

Killers need more BP's, on average, than survivors.
    -Don't keep add-ons.
    -Cant use chests.

    • Need to keep using bloodwebs on all killers to keep them viable, if they wan't to use different killers, survivors just need to get the teachables, and then only pump BP's into the main skin they want to use.
  • I have only just started playing more survivor after being only a Killer-main for months, and I will almost always defend the killers actions, even when we lose. Just realise the difference between obnoxious facecamping at 5 gens, and the smartest plays they could make.

It baffles me that people could complain about a killer being bad, when they scored a 4k, like whatever strategy is clearly working.

  • The fact that the game isn't newbie friendly, and it does take so long to learn, grind out decent perk builds, etc. Works as a great gatekeeper to keep casual players out of low ranks. Its one of the things that makes it so rewarding an experience imo. The game should absolutley cater to those who have put 1000+ hours in, because thats your dedicated playerbase.

The solution to this is extremely simple. While the person rescued is invulnerable, the other should be exposed. That way if you camp or get unhooked in front of you, you are still better off not tunneling.

Too bad that hits get redirected to the invulnerable target too.

And tunneling is necessary if you play against competent survivors (unless you want to depip)

Or just make it that any damage recieved by either of them is redirected to the rescuer during the iframes.

That way you dont get wasted hits as killer and the poor hooked person doesnt get farmed.you could tunnel, you would just have to wait out the 1-2 or w/e seconds of iframes.

Anythings better than wasted hits, whiffing hits like that just feels really ######### from a killers players perspective, as a mechanic, it just feels cheap. If someone is sprinting towards the hook just as I am leaving, I should be able to punish that mistake. (Unhook grabs are also inconsistent in general, and not always possible.)

Reverse Make your choice would be pretty neat.

  • If anything BBQ and to a lesser extent Were gonna farm forever, the BP gains should be a base ability without a perk, as a killer running without BBQ is just painful, and any builds that dont include it you feel forced into using it on every single build regardless of viablity just for those sweet, sweet bloodpoints. Anything that gives us more choice as players and lets us pick perks based on variety and playstyle, rather than a need for it the better.

  • Pallets seem fucky on PC too in many ways, stuns not stunning and hits hitting the side of pallets when they should connect, generally they are broken right now.

  • Both BBQ and WGLF should be baseline. BBQ for just aura reading would still be useful, but its painful playing without it. Include the BP boosts just into the game, could even change WGLF to gens completed rather than Unhooks.

  • Legit reasons killers earn more BPs:

Killers spend more, we don't keep our add-ons, so we need to constantly use bloodwebs, even if we have all perks. Also to "Main killer" and keep a few, if not all Killers, because you know they are all unique and not just skins, equipped with decent items and perks, is an insane grind. All survivors need is to get everyone to lv 40 to get the teachables, and then just pump everything into the one survivor skin you want to use.

  • Spirit is so hard to hit her power reliably, and she is basically an m1 100% speed killer against survivors that know how to counter her. If the Spirit you are facing hasn't got Stridor yet. (And because most killers are working through her prestige, and the generally bullshitness of bloodwebs, most have far from optimal perks on her.) If I am facing 3 or 4 players running iron-will then camping and tunnelling is kinda my only option.

Give it some time, once most players get her to P3 with Decent perks, they will either stop playing her, or have gotten good enough (Or she gets some buffs but unlikley.) That they won't need to.

  • Old windstorm was better, you could actually use it to mindgame loops like the pigs dash, the new one is garbage, and the increased slowdown makes getting an ambush attack off impossible, even with a silent bell.

  • Its hard to say, but I spent a lot more time with her today than I did on the PTB, at Rank 3, and after a few hours I am starting to see her potential. After a while hearing where survivors are during phasing is starting to get easier, and with the right add ons (But you could argue most killers need some add-ons to be viable anyway.) You can defintley use her power in chases effectivley. This might change as survivors get better at juking her, but right now small pallet loops, any corridor structure. (Seriously, she makes the pale rose a dream rather than a nightmare.) All places where she can pretty much garuntee a hit and to end a chase. The cooldown isnt as big a deal as it only takes 20 seconds if you use it all, and you only need 2 or 3 seconds to close distance in a chase.

Only thing is the activation speed should be a little quicker, as the charge speed add ons are almost necessary to use her in chases.

Because They're salty they were trash and doit to spite the killer.

Perhaps the killer was hacking, exploiting, just being a total jerk and tunneling them and only them while letting everyone else farm. There's countless reasons why and perhaps they're also doing it to go after their fellow survivors that sandbagged them.

Their could be many reasons not just because their salty and trash which is ironic since killers rage quit all the time because they either didn't get a kill. Didn't get more than 1 kill or the survivors are about to exit so they instant quit so they don't actually make it out.

There is literally 0 reason to DC as a survivor on the last hook though, if you think someone is genuinley hacking, record it and then disconnect immediatley anyway. (Not that actual hackers are very common.) Again, if the killer is working with survivors and killing you, thats reportable, but lets be real, isnt happening in every game.

If your a survivor, you just die. Take the loss, if your about to be hooked you are going to be out of the game just as quickly suiciding on the hook as you are disconnecting. Not defending killers disconnecting either, but at least if a killer is being "bullied" and can't get a single hook, they are d/cing more just to end the game than anything else, may as well just go afk.

  • When I first started playing I was suprised that it lit up from the start, I have tried to play Devour hope builds a few times but have never had luck with them, either have to commit to defending the totem and just hope it falls in a 3 gen camp. Totems need a full rework anyway.

  • I want dat Mecha-Trapper and Owl-Huntress.

I suggested faster progression the further away a Killer is from the hook (starting after a certain radius), but Survivors shot it down. They just don't want Killers to be rewarded for playing in the way that they want, for some reason.

Didn't they try this and survivors just looped near the hook forever getting more time for the save?

Plus that would severely harm end game camping when the gates are open. Its bad enough having to wait 2 minutes for the last second borrowed time save when the gates are visible from the hook.

Don't accept friend requests from trolls and don't allow randoms to post comments on your profile problem solved. BHVR are not responsible for steam chat or anything steam related outside of the game.

BHVR are not responsible, nobody is saying they are. What they are responsible for, and what they could take a vested interest in for the good of the community are two different things.

  • This is a problem, however it has a ridiculously easy solution that rhymes with "bit hood"

It's impossible to balance the game for low-ranks, or rather without making it completely shift the other way at high ranks. If its balanced around top level play, then the variable is player skill, which can be improved. Just keep playing, keep learning, use youtube and guides and watch streamers, this is not a game for casuals, if it was, it would be boring for those who play several hours a week. Everyone started out getting stomped, and then you learn, thats the satisfaction in the game, its the same "Dark souls" kinda masochistic sense of accomplishment.

  • I too am a bit concerned by this, its true that we can't expect BHVR to act as the police and moderate platforms they do not control. However would it be too much to ask to work with the platforms (Steam, PS, xbox) to properly manage things like this? It's not a unique problem to DbD, but I do think that the mechanics of the game, in having this "Killer vs Survivor" setup both in game and in the community (That is one of the best things about it tbh.) Also multiplies toxicity hugley, and leads to much more of what OP posted.

We get that its a third party, but anything you can do to try and cut this stuff out is a positive, people like this should not be a part of this community.

  • They want to balance to encourage shorter chases. After 60 seconds or so you should really have either downed the one you are chasing or broken the chase to look for someone else/ the survivor managed to break LOS.

The end goal here, with everything to is change the meta, survivors should not be getting into long, safe chases just to waste a killers time. If a survivor is found by the killer, they should want to get away, not just lead them around. The looping playstyle is boring for everyone involved. (I'm not saying it's bad, as its been the most effective strat for a long time, but is is dull.) Especially for the other 3 survivors who just have to hold m1 till gens pop and then leave, possibly unhooking the looper at the end if they did get caught. Thats why aura reading for killers has been buffed, they want the killer to be able to find and initiate chases with everyone easier, but giving survivors tools to end chases by escaping quickly too.

The devs said "We want there to be more meaningful interactions between survivors and the killer." And thats pretty much what all of the recent changes have been building around, and I think its the best direction the game can go in.

  • I think its intresting, making an UR for nurse without turning her into an unstoppable monster is hard enough, so it needs to be more about changing her in a new way than a straight up power buff. Having the 115% ms would allow her to keep los easier, and even get the first hit without blinking, using the second blink to close down the chase pretty much instantly. It would be less powerful than a 5 blink nurse ofc, but it would be more like a simplified nurse to have fun with and still be effective.

Yea there is a stream today (pretty sure there wasn't going to be one before) Probably to address all of the frustration/etc that has come out in the last few days. Which is a good thing to do on their part.

    Place bets now:

Devs: "Sorry we allowed the community to believe a rumor that we did nothing to dispel, and our own community manager trolled you all instead of trying to manage the situation, we are working really hard to get the chapter out, but we commited to getting it for all platforms at the same time, and we were waiting on certification/bugfixes. We will keep you informed as soon as we have a date, but we also can't commit to date because certain factors are outside of our control."

    OR

Devs: "You guys shouldn't have believed the wiki, if we havn't given a date for the chapter, there is no date for the chapter, just keep playing the game and don't worry about it, it's just a game why do you have to take things so seriously, nerds."

  • I think all LF needs really is a 100% movespeed while charging, and a little more speed during the swing.

  • One Freddy is re-worked, the next one that needs looking at is Leatherface, as he would be the lowest tier killer then. Pig and Myers getting some QoL improvments would be nice, but if LF gets some work, its only really small changes and balancing to everyone else.

  • Borrowed time and bodyblocking exist.

    Do gens.

    Git gud.

As long as I’m not waiting a freaking month after PC release. I’m good.

Most of the community is fine with waiting to make sure everyone gets it at the same time. The only ones with issues are the trolls starting flame bait threads, conspiracies, and those that're impatient.

No we aren't. It's stupid to force anyone to wait longer than they have to for the update. PC should't be forced to wait an extra week or two just because consoles take a while to allow the updates. What they should do is make sure that consoles get the update in as little amount of time as possible.

As a pc user I have no problem waiting for it to be done when it's ready. If I've got to wait an extra day r 2 or w/e for it to be ready for all platforms then so be it. It's not the end of the world, it's not BHVRs fault they're trying to be fair.

If you and the rest are so worried about how long it's taking then go buy a pc for all the console users and give BHVR the receipts so they can release it now.

It's normally a week or two minimum for console updates to get approved. So that would mean purposely delaying the patch on pc for potentially two extra weeks for no other reason than dropping the updates at the same time. There's a reason you rarely see companies release things on pc and consoles at the same time.

I doub they are waiting for any console certification because they said before that they will release as soon as it is ready. I do not see the point of having pc players waiting on us console players.

Because console players would raise a fuss like they did last time. Although a few days is acceptable, 5 weeks like with 2.0 is still unacceptable.

  • Most people wouldn't mind waiting for a simultaneous release. But that's not the point, the point is they could just say this. A lot of bullshit could have been avoided yesterday and each day going forward by just saying. "Not today, up to 2 weeks" Not this soon crap.

People need to calm down and not hype themselfs up. We all already paid for the game and we play the game. If the Devs want to add DLC (Paid or free) then it is up to them and only them when and how they want to release it and if they want to give us any info on it at all. We already got our product, we cant start a witch hunt because the Devs arent giving out info on extras that they dont have to provide for us.

That's not how modern games work, DbD, although it wasn't when it launched, uses the model of a "live game" a low initial cost supported over a multi-year cycle with regular updates and dlc, financed by both chapters and cosmetics, in much the same vein as Rs6 or For Honor for pvp games, and that model has certain expectations.

  • Not queen commenting just "soon" on here ten minutes before the speculated release time isn't exactly the best way to handle it, nobody would mind if they told us  but they won't. They were fully aware a sizable part of the community thought it was today, and did nothing to correct that.
  • Nope, just smaller TR and less noise when using her power. I just want new wraith and the infinites gone.

  • The content is ready though the reason pc players are waiting now is so consoles players get it at the same time and don't complain, so because you whined last time everyone has to wait.
  • It won't matter because the servers will die when it drops anyway. Bunch of shite this is.
  • I don't even know why I'm hyped either, even if it does drop today the servers will die anyway.
  • I can't understand why though, why the secrecy, if it's waiting certification just say so, this is a ######### way to manage content releases.
  • This isnt fun, it isnt hyping the community up, its just pissing people off. People care about your game, and make time in their lives for the new content. Just say it's not today, and people can go and ######### do something else.

  • If the Killer has gotten 3 kills before the gens are done, survivors lost. The hatch is a chance to escape a losing game that the killer has till this point dominated. If you don't like it, find the hatch first, or play better so the gates open.
