i think that's a dumb idea. doesn't add or help anything. i just had a game where i thought the Ace was on his second hook, he died on hook. i said oh well.i would hate for such a thing on my screen

When games are going really well some of us like to spread out hook states. Thats what it helps. Thats the only thing it helps

While I’m sure not every killer would abuse it to tunnel, a lot would.

The killers tunneling dont need a counter to tell them who theyve been tunneling all game. They know, theyve been chasing that person all game. Bogus answer

I do my best to spread the love. With the event going on, I want to do that doubly so in order to let people get as many points as possible without just throwing the game. That said, it always seems like I accidentally off someone well before the rest because I can't remember how many times I've hooked them. Would be nice to just look and go "Oh hey, this guy I just downed is on second hook already. I'll leave him as slowdown while I find someone else to hook."

But its important that YOU remember who has been hooked and who hasnt.

    Not the survivors though.

As an aside, i was going to let yui and kate go last game but i miscounted and hooked the wrong person. Yui died :/

I don't know if you know this or not but the point of the game is to get gen's done as fast as possible and get out because let's be for real nobody wants to spend two and a half hours in a game

Yeah ik. But new ruin can actually slow the game down better than the old one depending on a killer.

Those high mobility killers didnt need old ruin

  • @Huge_Bush said:

The nerf of Ruin. Before it was nerfed, I had more variety of killers that I faced (except for tunneling Freddy's) and matches lasted longer than what we have now. Granted, it didn't do much against really good survivors or swf, but it did help a little with them, while allowing killers to take it easy against solos and not have matches be a slug fest after a tunnel fest.

I admit I am not a developer or game designer, so I know my opinion can be wrong, but I feel like old Ruin was healthier for the game than what we have now. Though, we did get Undying, which is nice for Devour.

BINGO. The gens took linger, ruin became a secondary objective, and skilled survivors were rewarded by finishing faster.

The gane NEEDS a mandatory secondary objective.

I play a lot of Killer too and I do understand the frustration of this as well. I was a killer main until I started to struggle really badly even with killers whom I used to be good with. Not sure if that's the disparity of being on console and up against PC or what, but I know in Red Ranks the games are much faster and much more intense and to a degree, I enjoy that. Not so much when you feel like you can't get to survivors at all. So please don't think I'm one-sided on the issue, balance goes both ways and I absolutely will always make the argument in favor of both roles.

When the games working properly its not AS bad, but right now trying to loop with good survivors is a nightmare :/

I play both sides to so i get being tunneled sucks

  • Ive seen survivors run it, rare i lose them because of it. Thats pribably why

  • If you run that you HAVE to turn brown add on that increases lunge distance at tier 1. Youll hate life otherwise

  • From my side every game is gen rush city with 4 survivors that know how to loop really well and constant frame drops so even when i catch them i dont catch them.

    Bubba time

  • I said a few psychos might still do it. If secondary mandatory objectives are added reveal the killers aura to all survivors till he leaves. Im cool with both

And lets be real here, not many games have killers who camp first hook

  • @Hektic3000 said:

An efficient killer goes after the weak link in the team, if you've been hooked you're that much closer to death. A 3v1 situation is more manageable than a 4v1 situation, so can you really blame them for trying to make the game easier? If there are 2 gens, 1 at 90% and the other at 20%, you're more likely to finish the 90% one because its easier to finish and that's the same thing with killers targeting unhooked survivors.

This. Thank you. I see survivors working gens injured and have yet to hear of one leaving a gen 3/4s finished to work on a new one

They've slowly made nerfs to camping over the years. I say go in for the curb stomp. It will also remove a huge portion of toxic trash people from this community who just want to annoy people.

Youd lose 3/4s of the killers overnight. Enjoy the lobby simulator

Then delete Steves perk and make the hook timer pause forever if the killer is within 40 meters of the hook. Then speed up gen times by 10% if the killer is still in that radius. Do something. I'm tired of experiencing these types of situations.

Camping completely craps on groups of solos and thats it. IDK why the Kindered idea didn't get implemented even though it was discussed YEARS ago.

All solos should automatically have that perk.

The devs did that once, survivors abused the ######### out of it by running around the hook

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

I used to be against this but now I think its a good idea.

Devs. PLEASE curb stomp killers who camp. Ruin their entire lives by changing how it works. Make hooks teleport or something. 90% of campers do it just to ruin the experience and be as big of a jerk as they possibly can and thats all they do it for.

FIVE cakes in play just now and one of you clowns face camped me for no reason and I died with 4k points. What is wrong with some of you? At the last second a Leon tried to save me and this absolute trash Legion actually STILL pursued me after downing Leon. God forbid I get to play in the match AT ALL.

I know this move will hurt people who don't even camp but oh well. Jerks always have to ruin everything for everyone else. Kinda like Pyramid Head being able to see cages auras. Playerrs whos sole intent is to try and ruin someones game abused it and it got taken away.

Want camping to stop? Pretty easy. Make the survivor objectives take longer by adding MANDATORY secondary objectives. Then killers wont feel the need to camp 🤷‍♂️

(Well a couple of psychos might, most wont)

We are talking about solos. If only 1 surv try to unhook, camp and tunnel is the best strategy. You can face camp and survs can do 2 gens, but then the game is 3 vs 1 and the game is over with 4k

It takes 120 seconds for a person to die on hook.

You already have at least 1 gen done by the time that person got hooked.

3 survivors working gens will have 3 gens done, and be half way through 3 more by the time that guy dies on hook.

If they triple up on that last gen, the gens are done right after he dies.

Lets assume killer has noed. Hes going to find you on the gate about the time it opens. He downs one the other 2 are out.

Theres your 2k 2 escape balance. If he didnt have noed then he just gets the one.

Plus he got what, 2 hooks? Depip

Its not all match. Its once per 40 seconds of walking around. No one is using their exhaustion perks more than once per chase and 3 seconds vs 1 shot are 2 different things. NOED is a free down for not doing your objective and probably face camping. A survivor has limited time in a match, specially with Ruin in the game to do all totems plus all gens if someone is being camped.

If you want to reverse that experience, run no slowdown perks against SWFs and nothing that speeds up attack recovery and dont use Spirit or Nurse and tell me how it feels to get rushed without no real way to stop it. Its the same for survivors. You have limited time. You waste time looking for hidden totems while someone is camped and you lose a survivor with no gen progress. Now its a 3 vs 1.

All you have to do it repeat the camp and now its a 2 vs 1 with 3 gens left and now you're 1 gen left with 1 on the the hook and 1 person doing the last gen. This would be every match if the killer catches someone quickly and face camps while the survivors are worrying about NOED. Not enough time. Gens take 80 seconds. Totems take 15 seconds and you have to find them also. Hook timer is 2 minutes until death. See the issue here? If a killer just camps with NOED, you will always lose as a survivor.

That shouldn't be rewarded. Half of the time, survivor's don't even get Adrenaline because they're dead before it begins and NOED speed boost is permanent while exhaustion ones are 3 seconds with a long CD and have requirements for activation. NOED needs changed. I say 6 hooks to get NOED and if a survivor isn't rescued for a hook state, that hook state doesn't count towards NOED.

3 seconds is not at all comparable to what happens when most exhaustion perks are used 😂

If we assume it takes about 15 seconds of chase to get a hit, then thats about what most exhaustions perks give you. Whatever the number is, NOED is the inverse.

"noed is a free down for not doing your job"

"exhaustion perks are a free health state for not doing yiur job"

I can do this all day.

Ive got 3k hours in this game, theres not a survivor/killer/build/experience i havent had.

Everything else is just more whining about noed. I dont care. As long as exhaustion perks are in the game and you can do bones survivors have no room to complain. Heres a thought, why doesnt every survivor drop their exhaustion perks and run small game instead and do bones? If everyone did thst, youd never see noed again

Being one shot for not doing anything all game is not balanced. Adrenaline has a requirement of doing all the gens to receive a reward. Hex: Devour Hope is the closest to NOED but requires you to get hooks plus stay far away for your 1-shots. NOED isn't balanced. You did nothing but lose. It's a perk from days when the game was severely unbalanced.

It either needs a requirement to activate or a cd per 1-shots. A killer should never get rewarded for chasing someone all game and not doing anything else because they know they got a 1-shot. Even Adrenaline and other perks have a CD as a downside except Adrenaline. It has a CD and a requirement. NOED should require at least 5 hooks to get its effect just like Adrenaline.

Being able to sprint across the map anytime you want or avoid going down several times a match without doing anything is not balanced at all.

See how easy this is? Its because exhaustion perks ARE THE BALANCE to noed. Together, you have balance. If you want to nerf noed then you need to nerf all exhaustion perks

I've seen and been a part of a decent amount of forums, mostly but not limited to, of online games, but never have I witnessed such abusive and outright ridiculous demanding from its users. What the actual [BAD WORD]?

Not sure what the company policy is on purchased content, cosmetic or otherwise (the game for example), but that's the only thing you might have the right to demand on. For example, if you bought a cosmetic and you don't have it or console players technically not being able to play the game right now.

Meanwhile, left and right, BHVR this, BHVR that, this not good, that not good, i want like this, no, i want like that, weh weh weh.

You paid a fair price for the game which is worth what you paid and if you consider how cheap it is on some platforms, there is absolutely no discussion there. After, whatever you purchased in the game was completely optional, even killers/survivors. You were never promised anything more and if you were, BHVR does not have to comply to anything. Everything you are getting, broken or not, you are getting for free, maybe at the cost of others, but never did you have to spend extra to be allowed to participate in new content. Whatever funding they received other than game purchases were donations with benefits.

I get it, you are frustrated and this is in fact a platform to express your opinion, even if most of the time they are not actually discussions, but nothing better is going to happen if we just fill this forum with stuff like this. 1/10 of the new posts after the event released are actually something good to read, to know, to ask, to discuss. The rest are just rude rants and you are lucky to get away with just a ban and/or deleted post on the forum.

90% of what makes the game broken is its community. (Not a real statistic of course)

Right, well, I got tired of writing and I can't think of anything else right now, and I want to go play the event. I just hope I find something good and interesting to read later on.

After 3 years of a poorly performing game, 2 years of broken promises and 2 weeks of a virtually unplayable game during an event no less, no. No i wont stop demanding they fix this.

They are similar :D Let's make NOED 1-shot but have to wait for 40-60 seconds to get the 1-shot again, like Adrenaline does. Balanced, as all things should be.

The problem with that is noed only applies at the end of the match and only if the survivors didnt cleanse bones (which admittedly is very common). Unlike sprint burst, lithe, dead hard, head on, balanced landing and whatever other exhaustion perk im not thinking of. Thats the balance. You get to extend chase all game, i get to shirten chase during end game. Balance.

I think Adrenaline would be more interesting if the devs done this, if you're currently downed, it picks you up and heals you (like right now), if you're just injured it will heal you but no speed boost, and if you're fully healed jus the speedboost obviously, this is me being generous considering it definitely doesn't need to be nerfed, I play both sides and I never found Adrenaline to be annoying. NOED rewards most killers that use it for being bad, it literally gives you at least 1 free kill, this sh*t of "just cleanse tottems" is such a stupid counter for people playing solo q, etc.

I dont have a problem with adrenaline, or exhaustion perks, or noed. My point is any argument you can maje about nied can be made about exhaustion perks, including "if everyone has exhaustion perks it guarantees you at least 1 escape. This 'just play around it argument is bullshit.'"

Neither is a true statement, but bith arent entirely wrong either.

Noed is a simple counter. Dont do bones, if it pops, leave. Dont feed the noed user. Simple as that. Also keep in mind that killer played with only 3 perks all game, if hed had 4 maybe he would have been able to apply more pressure and wouldnt have looked "bad." Hell a lot of times its run with blood warden so he played with 2.

Noed exists to encourage doing bones, which slows the game down giving the killer more of a chance to get more hooks. But people dont want to do bones, so the games fly. PLUS all your exhaustion perks extend chases even more.

Console player? Then that makes sense. PC here, and no, after a while these tricks stopped working on me. Nor does it work on most killers with a lot of experience. But if you're on console, then this makes a bit more sense. Otherwise? You may as well say it's easy to juke killers and M1 is inconsistent (R1 for you), which is really isn't. The only time this happens now is if the game has performance issues, which admittedly are more frequently recently.

The only time I don't hit my frenzy each time is if I haven't played killer in a long while, and especially Legion that I dislike playing. After a small warmup? No, I don't miss. Because basic jukes don't work on this power if you've played killer long enough and the autoaim + speed makes a hit inevitable even if they try some stupid spin.

Going to harbour a guess and say you aren't in red ranks if you're frequently getting whiffing legions.

R1 actually, i dont whiff frequently, but it does happen. To you too. Because its not a guaranteed hit. Easier than the regular hit? Sure, but its not guaranteed.

  • I just played a ttv and some of his subs. The twitch guy was really good, the nora was not. The other 2 were ok. Nora got hooked twice in a row at one point (so tunneling). Twitch guy got put in basement. I guess they were expecting me to camp so i went and downed Jill. That left the guy going to get the twitcher occupied and jill on hook. So i pulled nora out of the game.

After i went to the stream, and hey werent talking #########. Nora was apologizing to her team that she played bad. I Gave them a ggwp and they said it back.

They werent bitching that i tunneled nora, they werent talking ######### that the twitcher outplayed me a couple times. They understood the game. This is how its supposed to work. A bad killer would have camped the dude in basement. Or tunneled the twitcher. I played it right.

Adrenaline rewards survivors for surviving till end game, NOED rewards a killer for not doing their objective? stop comparing it to exhaustion perks

Adrenaline also gives you sa health state. I know it gives exhaustion i dont think of it as an exhaustion perk though since youll get the health state and speed burst even if youre already exhausted.

NOED is directly comparable to exhaustion perks, im not going to stop pointing that out just because it makes your argument #########. Even adrenaline, a claudette hiding in a locker in basement can get adrenaline. She then would have got it for nothing eh?

  • Start with wraith, but as soon as youre comfortable landing hits, switch to bubba. You NEED bbq and chili to lessen the grind

Dont worry about winning or losing for now, just focus on practicing getting hits and learning loops.

  • @DeliciousFood said:

Completely change Legion. Feral Frenzy is absolutely braindead as an ability that has no thematic cohesion and is just dull. Plus it gives a free hit with zero effort, which ends up appealing to bad killer players that, upon realizing Legion sucks, stack 4 slowdowns to go with that M1 simulator. Just change it to literally anything they have in backburner and it'll be better.

Trickster needs an overhaul on how laceration works. Be it that it never decays or needs survivor action to do so. Contingent on how effective his knives are then, changing his speed could be considered, although whether it is base or when he has the daggers out is up in the air. The power itself is fine, it's how it affects survivor gameplay and the requirements to get results that is the issue. Also Main event needs to be way less useless than it is now. Perhaps leaving half the meter full if its unused.

Its not a free hit at all, get better at juking

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2325168#Comment_2325168

Being able to down with frenzy is a slippery slope since it’s essentially a guaranteed hit but that’s a decent idea

Thats why its only applied on the 5th survivor and beyond and they have to be injured and not in deep wounds. Its stupid rare to even hit 4. Survivors have to be really stupid for it to go beyond that.

2 to 3 is way more common than even 4 so MOSTLY what youre getting is extra slowdown for a few reasons. Mending takes a little longer, healing takes a little linger, and youll REALLY want to heal just in case he manages to get a 4 stack. It also means survivors REALLY need to split up early game which means treking across the map to get unhooks.

It also discourages tunneling to hard. When you see someone get an unhook youll want to FF hit them both so they take longer to heal and try to get that 3rd stack so that HOPEFULLY you can get the 4th.

  • Legion:

First hit with Feral Frenzy apply deep wounds (mending should take longer since only potatos go down from it). 2nd hit applies mangeled for 45 seconds and deep wounds. 3rd hit applies deep wounds, mangeled until healed and broken for 45 seconds. 4th hit applies all previous effects and any injured not afflicted with deep wounds can be downed by feral frenzy (obv this all applies xuring the same feral frenzy).

Bloodhound is basekit during feral frenzy.

Legion is now an A tier killer :)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2325043#Comment_2325043

That’s assuming everyone is coordinated. If you’re talking about the average solo game then you can pretty much guarantee that your teammates will dance around the hook as you get camped.

To get a guaranteed win against a camper you need all 3 survivors on separate gens, in all my time playing solo survivor I don’t think I’ve seen such a feat before. Again with SWF it’s a piece of cake but we’re talking about solos here.

Survivors being dumb does not stop that from being the power role. Like I said, survivors set the pace of the match. If all your teammates are idiots and not playing, THEY are determining that its going to be an easy game for the killer. The killer didnt make them dumb and mess around. THEY chose that.

I play solo all the time, other red rank survivors tend to not screw around in my experience. I also play killer in reds, it doesnt work most games. You dont need comms if everyone knows what theyre doing

  • @Customapple0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2324998#Comment_2324998

    Are they the power role?

The killer has the power to just ruin the game for 1 survivor by camping or tunnelling them out the game.

Coordinated survivors can delay the inevitable but if the killer wants one survivor out the game it’s pretty much guaranteed and there’s not much you can do about it. Survivors have no where near that much power.

Survivors set the pace of the game from the start. In the situation youre describing if everyones doing gens and not being pressured 4 gens wilk be gone by the time that survivors out. This isnt a 1v1 game. Its a 4v1. Yeah, 1 survivor is out and theres 3 escapes. Not very good.

  • @Purgatorian said:

This is the problem as I see it stuck in red ranks.

I am not a good survivor or killer but killer is my main role. I try to play fair to begin with, not tunnelling or camping but I get outplayed often by t walls, places with strong loops and the like, although I can mindgame shack a lot. A lot of red rank players are good loopers, too good for me but it's far too easy to rank up as killer and too hard to de-pip. I try to get a couple of pallet drops then break chase if I feel the need to and go elsewhere, especially if discordance pops..

Now, when you start hearing gens pop all over and you get to 2 with all survivors alive, especially if not many hooks have been had, someone needs to go by any means necessary, I will still try not to camp though. However if I'm in a chase and see someone on last hook at one remaining gen I will change my target, even if they have just been unhooked. I will always camp after last gen has popped. The only other times I will tunnel and possibly camp but not always is a toxic player, clicky flashlights, t-bagging all the time etc.

Those who tunnel and camp, or even slug, at 5 gens I never understand. Oh and basement bubba, how that is fun is beyond me lol

The people that slug from the beginning are trying to generate pressure early so they dont end up in that situation youre talking about. If you down a survivor and know another is close you should always slug. At the very least hit the other survivor once and go get your hook

  • @Roadrunner said:

This game has way to many safe palletts. It is just no fun to chase someone ad he throws a pallet that has to be destroyed

You need to figure out zoning.

Lets say theres a pallet at tile A, and a pallet at tile B.

Survivor drops pallet at A and is running towards B. Kick pallet chase survivor. Now they drop pallet at B. You want to move around so that you are facing towards Tile A. Survivor is now running towards tile A where there is no pallet.

3 or 4 of these in the same area of the map creates a dead zone. Whenever possible you want to zone them towards dead zones. No pallets means easier down

  • @Gwinty said:

I like it. Trickster is a fun killer to face for me even if I agree with Phasmamain: Dodging his knifes means very little compared to Huntress and Slinger. Still with the right loops you can have fun chases against him and he forces you to play in a different way and to take a different path when running away (high walls).

Ive found with the knives the "juke" is running diagonally. By diagonally i mean hes behind you youre both running straight, cut to a 45 degree angle and keep running. Hes throwing knives the whole time so his aim is trying to catch up. When it does cut the other direction. Obviously the goal is getting to a high wall loop. Avoid short/low wall loops. Those are not going to help much lol

With all of the stuff in this thread, do you guys think DBD is in a worse place then it was 6 months ago? Otz doesn't seem to think so, and I honestly cannot fathom how he doesn't. (yes I know, don't take words of streamers as some Holy text but still)

Ohtz is on a PC which has less issues than console. Ive been playing for 3 years, this is 100% the worst patch ever for me personally

So I've put 1.7mil into lvl 50 Kate.

I've gotten 24 cakes in total.

After hearing about the drop rates and the event items on survivors decreasing the chance. Ive been thinking should I be spending them on killer instead then.

The only factor is that I play survivor decently more than killer. So what should I do?

100% you should. Grind cake on killer, after event you can use bps earned from cake to dump into survivor

My head... reading that caused my head to hurt so much, now I taste pennies

    Why?

P1 Yui, Ive been getting a good amount on the killers I play no prestieged but I assume thats cause killers dont have event items. Just with any of the survivors I put BP into I get none.

Yeah thats probably it. Between items and prestige youre pribably getting less chances for it to pop up

  • What prestige and rank are you?

At p350 ive pretty consistently gotten 20 to 24 cakes per 900k bps spent. (Did this 3 times today)

I'd like to see a prison, maybe in the same realm as Dead Dawg.

Yes! This! The killer could be a psychpathic inmate and the survivor an innocent man put behind bars that the psycho liked to tiy with in prison.

Also, we need a friggin cemetary. How is this not a thing already?

Also, hauntex house complete with seceret passage ways that open up new paths when gens are done or blocked off by the killer in some way :)
