Yeah true, might just be a detection issue then.
Yeah if you ever go against a group that know how to knock you out quick its a miserable existence even with the double recovery

Haunted + devour + undying on wraith with purple all seeing. Bruh
Also stbfl + bbq + noed + bloid warden on freddy π

I think its fine. If people practice they can knock it out of him pretty quick

God i wish i could stay there. On my alt its green, i can literally go the entire game not hooking a single person and still get brutal. Its just to easy at that level to pip up for me. I have noticed lots of red rank killers face camping & tunneling these days.
Am guessing that is probably due to the nerfing of anti tunneling perks so no survivor has DS anymore.
The devs seem to want to encourage more of the camp the hook playstyle.
My question is if you get a 4k but face-camp the whole game is that a pip now?
You wont get a 4k camping the whole game, unless the survivors do something foolish like rush basement against a camping bubba π€·ββοΈ

No, this isn't a post about how Killers are too weak.
My first game of the day was against a full squad on Hawkins. Walked away with no kills and didn't even hook all four of them. My next game, it wasn't even a SWF and they wiped the floor with me. Maybe I was already sore from the previous game that I did so poorly. I always tell myself that not every game is gonna be a winner, and that even in those games I learn something new and adapt, but I can't help but get angry at every little mistake I make and frantically search for something to blame to keep myself from crushing my controller in my hands.
It also aches me to say that I'm semi-tempted to switch to Survivor after back-to-back losses. I previously played Survivor almost exclusively unless it was for a challenge. Now, I want to turn over a new leaf and dedicate myself to something new over the summer and, since DbD is my favorite game, I figured I might as well learn Killer.
So, all ranting aside, I have to ask: Killer mains, how do you do it? How do you get absolutely demolished by SWF, get mortally punished for even the tiniest of mistakes, and deal with the inaudible scrutiny the Survivors could be giving you, and still enjoy playing Killer?
This is what you do. Grab freddy, add in some noed + stbfl + bloodwarden, smear on some bbq and chili, then just kick back, put your feet up and stop worrying about the gens. Whatever happens happens :)

I caught all 4 survivors with the same trap in the same spot, and one poor bill twice...so my advice? Find those guys and play them π

To my fellow killer mains and players, how do you deal with someone 6 second switching a key and a map on you? Aside from just say tunneling out the key. My team went down 4x to zombies. And yeah i could have worded it better but was frustrated.
He would lose chase or abandon chase with me and my legit rank 20 teammates would die in seconds against him.
Everyone he hooked was tunneled too.
He got 0 hits on me in 5 different chases that costed him the game but noed saved his ass
I understand being frustrated, i woukd have been too. But it would have been at my teammates. In fact if i did 4 bones and died to noed one or all of them would be getting messages.
Then he did what all good killers do, abandon the strong and focus the weak. A bad killer would have tunneled you (which is the real definition of tunneling) all game allowing your noob teammates to hold m1 on all 5 gens and he woukd have left the game with no hooks, or in this case maybe 4 since apparently his zombies got 4 downs.
It didnt cost him the game. Hun, he killed 3 of you, the last of which was as the last gen popped, all WITHOUT noed. It was already a W. All noed did was give him the cherry on top. You that eluded him the rest of the game. Im not saying this guy is amazing at the game, but he certainly sounds better than your teammates

Its unhealthy and rewards bad play.
Its almost always used by bad or noob players and often gets kills they didn't deserve.
I outplayed him all game. He gets saved by nomegaloled
The killer gave up a perk slot for it. He could have ran sloppy, or whatever and he may have killed your teammates sooner. The last one died just as the gen popped, logic dictates that with a different perk the teamnates would have died sooner.
It rewards the killer for your teammates bad gameplay. If just one of them had stopped to do 1 totem at any point, you would have gotten out. Noed doesnt "reward bad gameplay" anymore than pop does. Its a perk. It does as its designed, unfortunately you got screwed by bad teammates

Crowd Control is not as good as people think, lemme explain why:
Giving a classic example THE SHACK: the survivor will vault the window and the entity will block it for several seconds, then you will either proceed to go right... left or vault by yourself. Now where is the what happens:
- you vault the window with default speed and give the survivor time to run away, providing him with more time and maybe not even a dropped pallet.
- You go right side to the nearest path to the pallet, but the survivor sees you and runs the opposite direction either circling the shack because the window is blocked or leaving the loop, concluding in more time wasted without actual result for you the killer.
- You go to the second entrance and the survivor sees you and runs to the pallet, giving him even more distance to follow the back side of the shack and loop you at least 1 more time not even with dropping the pallet or you getting a hit.
Here is a drawn example of 2 of the points from above:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UXI7U3UTMMMJ/image.png
And one more important thing to mention, the perk is a hex, even with all the negatives showcased above... it can be destroyed.
Why is Bamboozle better?
You get a fast vaulting speed and also block the vault, giving the survivor less distance and you the ability to bruteforce the pallet, eliminating the mindgame that could waste your time and the entire loop. It's a drop or die scenario, lastly the perk never goes away since it's not a hex.
I agree bamboozle is better, i just saw tofu wreck kids with crowd control and figured id mention it

I always rock the bloody clothes. It gains you more respect in your games. You see a frosty eye nurse and itβs genrush city but you see the P3? Time to hide.
I just canβt imagine playing PP head with a paid cosmetic or Bubba with his basic yellow apron or that crappy paid one. P3 all the way for them.
I like running the paid one with claudettes face. Like some ######### up version of aunt jemima π
-
Bubbas biggest weakness is vaults. Thus crowd control or baboozle are amazing on him
Dont let his ability to get rid of pallets quickly fool you. If the survivor is feeding you pallets get rid of 3 or 4 and go after someone else
Tinkerer is also an amzing perk on him
As for the curse, the most dangerous place to be in this game is at the bottom of basement stairs with a bubba at the top. A lot of people play to that strength, survivors dont like that so assume thats happening and dc

I would've preferred if it had some sort of gimmick beyond "your totem has now been saved, time to get the value- oh, nevermind, they found the other totem. Hope you enjoy your two perk slots." I only really use Undying with killers that can't use Pop very well or benefit a massive amount from Ruin, like PH, Billy, Twins, Plague, etc.
I think letting Undying work like a Hex bank could be nice. So, whenever a Hex is cleansed, the Hex effect transfers to the Undying totem. Multiple Hexes can be present on the totem at once. This would make multi-Hex builds no longer a complete joke, while still only allowing one revival per individual Hex.
Kind of like being able to see people near dull totems? That sort of gimmick? Cause that can be pretty useful sometimes

"Let's not discuss absolutely any changes to DS bc in my opinion, it would devastate the game, and here are some streamers that agree" is what you sound like.
Again, your opinion isn't factual or binding bc career players may concur with it. The final authority on the matter is the devs and they have not ruled out adjustments to DS in the future. You sound as dramatic as people that declared the game would die when X or buffed or nerfed. The devs encourage community discussions and listen to feedback.
Thats not what i said at all, i also gave you simple math to highlight my point. But if youre not willing to listen i guess theres not much point in explaining further π€·ββοΈ

That's your dramatic opinion but don't act like it is binding or authoritative. Don't conflate your opinion with fact. Clearly, our opinions differ, in fact, there is no consensus thus these topics exist to discuss.
Yeah its not really my opinion though. Pick any goid killer you want, ohtz, jund, tru3, cmwinters, any of them. In all games its 100% necessary to tunnel, camp or slug during games. Its simple math. I can give you a really basic example.
Lets say on average it takes 7 seconds to hook a survivor, that includes the animation then walking them to the hook, tgen the animation of hooking them.
In that 7 seconds you lost 21 seconds if generator time (7 seconds x 3 survivors). 1 gen only takes 80 seconds, so you lost a quarter of a gen JUST HOOKING 1 PERSON. Hook 4 people and thats 1 gen gone. Thats not getting into finding chasing and hitting people.
You can choise to ignore reality all you want to, these are facts.

This topic is about DS; stay focused.
Not interested in your reductive slippery slope. Besides the fact that Survivor and/or Killer players aren't a monolith, not everyone wants the same thing. Imo, the existing iteration of DS doesn't go far enough. There is room to fulfill the stated objective with some tweaks to the perk. It doesn't have to be as dramatic and world-ending as you suggest. Idk what the looks like and at what cost so it's nice to see proposed ideas.
Do i seriously need to go back to my post and point to the part where i said buffing antitunneling/camping (which includes ds obviously) perks could have a serious impact on the game at even average levels? I am focused on the topic. You just missed it to rage π€·ββοΈ ds in its current form is fine. I run it almost every game

The Killer has the option of planning for a 3-gen, they can kick and regress the Generator naturally. It adds a little bit more time. Might not be effective in the long run, but at the very least it's the Illusion of choice.
This is incredibly situational, but usually it is just an illusion, particularly if all 4 are still alive.
Unless you get really lucky and slug them all of course :) π

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2349500#Comment_2349500
Oh, right.
Not necessarily slugging in general, rather a specific state of slugging:
- All living Survivors are otherwise engaged with the Killer and/or do not have enough information to rescue the dying Survivor(s), and all dying Survivors have no anti-slugging Perk.
Whereas a Killer always had the option of just letting the Survivors bleed out, or taking them to the Basement when sabo'ed, always being able to further progress to their end-goal regardless of load-out.
Survivors... Don't have any option to further their end-goal if the above scenario is met. At least, they are required to bring a Perk that allows the ability to.
Technically they have the option to get to 95% and wait for any remaining living Survivor to pick themselves up, but, this requires the other living Survivor being unoccupied and knowing where they are. Easier in the early-game, sometimes impossible later on, especially if the Killer is running a slugging build.
I see, so youre saying they fixed all hooks being sabo'd, but never did anything about what happens when all 4 survivors are slugged.
Not sure theres anything to do about that. All 4 survivors slugged is more akin to 5 gens being at 90% (or the last gen being at 90%). We woukdnt expect the game to somehow stop that or give the killer new options (outside of perks) in that situation
-
I think its because this part here doesnt make much sense, or maybe im just not understanding what you mean
All hooks cant be saboed, and them respawning in 30 seconds cant be worse. The only time "theres no hooks" happens is when someone dies on one in a corner and a survivor keeps running over there because they know that.
As far as slugging is concerned, not sure what youre expecting, sometimes its necessary for a variety of reasons beyond sabo (which to me feels rare and is actually fun interaction)
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2349422#Comment_2349422
Well, the Killers could just use Iron Grasp/Agitation and have gone for the Basement, and the Survivors could have now just used Unbreakable or No Mither.
I'm trying to point out the double-standard of this double-standard. Killers Hooks got fixed, but slugging is still the same boring experience. Yes, Survivors can go for the save if they're up just like the Killer can go for the basement, and there are Perks to remedy/alleviate the situation.
But, for slugging at least, the edge-case of "All Hooks sabo'ed" is still present, and technically still worse. If all Survivors are in the dying state there is no more gameplay path available unless you literally have a specific Perk slotted.
It's not quite as prevalent as Sabo'ing, and hell, is used as the counter to the current state of sabo gameplay, but it still hasn't been addressed.
You lost me somewhere, what hasnt been addressed? Slugging?

They used to because they didn't know how to counter it. Now most loops are fair and people get better at mindgaming. I don't find optimal looping annoying but rather skillful and I respect good loopers... rather than W holders.
I think holding w is what youre supposed to do against some killers. The skill is knowing when to do that and what youre running to depending on the killer. They cant hold w forever. Theyve got like 15 seconds till you catch up and hit them, there needs to be a loop of some sort at the end of that they can use against you.
And if for some reason thats not true, if they really are able to just run straight for 5 gens without you catching them, then thats not on them

Ran a Nemesis through an entire match without a single hit or infection. It got to a point he ignored me and allowed me to do 4 totems. Including ruin instantly, Devour after his first hit with it, And 2 dulls.
His zombies got most of his downs and camped hooks. But i took chase long enough for Claudette to finish a gen and die.
At this point he closes hatch and still hasn't hit me. And gates are far. So i pop one open right as he reaches me, practically guaranteeing my escape and boom. Extra 4% speed and insta down. Gate was open, i was full health, never hit the entire game in 5 different chases, destroyed 2 of his perks and hard carried randoms... But he gets rewarded for playing badly and decided to slug me shaking his head for the bleedout timer after carrying me away from the gate.
You bet i just left the game and got lunch lol.
I love when someone plays badly, can't even hit me the whole game and gets the pity kill from an unhealthy crutch perk. NoED is just brutal in Soloq. "Just do bones" is hard solo when teammates die in 5 seconds and don't do gens. The nemesis player was having a bad game vs me and got an undeserved kill when my escape should have been guaranteed. The better player should always win. As an advocate of fun DbD over comp/sweaty dbd. I feel noed creates bad habits and hinders newer players from being better, this guy clearly was carried by noed.
Sorry for the rant. My experience on both sides during the event is awful. I kinda hate events because the sweat and toxicity they bring.
I just think noed, like self care and urban can create bad habits and hinder newer players from getting better, while making solo even less fun.
Lot of things in this dont add up.
You ran him without getting any kind of hit, but he was then able to leave you and go get 4 more hooks so his devour would proc .
He had 3 of you dead, and he didnt mori anyone (remember you broke his devour after he got one down with it), by the time the last gen popped, but he played badly? How many hooks did he have by the time he hit you? 9? Were people left to die on hook?
You did 4 totems, including ruin and devour, and nobody else on your team did a single one?
He had ruin, devour and noed out of curiousity what was his 4th?
β--------
What i see reading your story is a killer that got outplayed a little at the beginning, then a mountain of mistakes had to of been made by the survivors (not saying you, your teammates). Nobody other than you touched a single totem. They apparently were losing chases EXTREMELY quickly, unless youre telling me he got 9 downs just off his zombies in which case you had the dumbest set of teammates that have ever touched a controller. And presumably at least 1 person is left to die on hook (or he really did get 9 hooks in which case I hate to break it to you he wasnt a bad killer).
After all this, after having the dumbest teammates possible (assuming your story is true), somehow its noeds fault you died to a "bad killer?"
Ill add him letting you bleed out at the end was a dick move, but i think you shoukd actually be mad at your teammates here, not the killer or noed. He clearly outplayed you in the 4v1, even if he couldnt outplay you in particular in the 1v1
