Just be careful what you write or say to people when you message them regardless of what they say to you because if you don't report them their message goes unnoticed but if they report you it could result in a comms ban or worse.
You cannot get banned from reports, such as "unsporting" or "quit early" etc no matter how many you accumulate, these only effect your reputation such as "needs work" or "avoid me".
Text or voice messages that contain death threats, telling people to kill themself, or calling them racist names with lots of swear words, these kind of messages are what will get you banned if the person on the recieving end reports the message.I've had a few choice messages sent to me from playing DBD which I didn't retaliate to, I just silently reported the messages and moved on.
A couple of weeks later you get the message from Xbox Live saying that they took action on one or more of your complaints and thanking you for making Xbox Live a safer place etc, that means the result of the reports you made was a comms ban or worse. -

Nah, people will just have to learn when to start blinding again.Indeed, it's one of the best quality of life changes killer has had in a long time.
Let's hope they don't give in to the pressure from the minority that's vocal on the forum (people tend to only complain on the forum, happy satisfied peple just continue to play the game) and stand by their decision to implement this step in the right direction.
Hopefully there's more good QoL changes to come soon such as the hatch change. -
Feels just right to me, always hated the old pick up speed how slow and clunky it felt.
Really glad they made this welcome change looking forward to the hatch and DS changes now, hope they don't take too long. -

Actually the fix is to never rank above 16, that way you can derank to 20 and then back to 16 and repeat.
And how do you de-rank from 16-20? rank reset? because you cannot de-rank between 16-20 when the next patch comes.
Ranks 20 to 16 will never lose pips even if you leave the match on purpose.
If you do mean by rank reset you wont get many games before you have to bench yourself and not play anymore until the rank reset, not worth it. -
@Someissues said:
Just De-rank back to 20He won't be able to do that next patch.

Just in case anyone couldn't be bothered to read the opening post by the topic creator, he's not talking about camping and tunneling killers, quite the opposite.
He is talking about survivors camping a generator by not leaving the area until it's complete, he's also talking about survivors tunneling a generator by staying on the same generator for all 100% of it's progress.
He then offers idea to counter survivors that camp and tunnel generators. -

How would these changes help with camping and tunneling?People will always camp in games no matter what, it's not the game it's the person.
Tunneling is situational. I always go for the one who saved if I'm close, but if that person hides right away and all I see is the injured person, I'll go for that one. In that case it's the fault of the other survivor who didn't take aggro.
Did you even read what OP wrote?
Doesn't look like it, he probably assumed the TC was talking about camping and tunneling killers... spoiler: he wasn't.
I like the openinng post, it's the equivalent of survivors camping and tunneling generators and it made me laugh. -

Maybe on PC let's hope so, on console? NO CHANCE.Don't be such a millennial.
The patch was probably sorted out 2-3 days ago as to what they are going to let go live. So I would assume they would start the process yesterday or earlier. A simple balance patch wouldn't take more than a couple days kiddo.
Try again.
Ok then, we will see if it comes out this week, if not you're wrong, if so I'm wrong, 4 days to go including today.
Oh and "millennial" "kiddo" ? I was born in 1974, you? -
As someone that usually stays at rank 20 as killer on console even though I have over 1500 hours and 1400/1700 achievement points on DBD I can tell you what I was doing and what I will be doing.
What I was doing is as soon as I hit rank 18 I would throw 3 games and be back at rank 20, it only takes 6 pips to go from 20-18.
What I will be doing after the patch is starting at rank 15, as soon as I hit 13 which is 8 pips I wil throw 4 games and be back at rank 15 again.
I will continue to dodge SWF groups and I will continue to check every players DBD gamerscore in the lobby to avoid players with over 1000 DBD gamer score before I ready up.
See you at rank 15!As survivor nothing will change, I'll continue to play for rank and try to get at least +1 pip every game like I usually do on the way to rank 1.
Survivor works in reverse, the low ranks are TERRIBLE as a solo survivor, all you get is random new players who DC when they are losing and killers doing what I do with maxed out perks and thousands of hours. However I do think this new ranking system will do that it's intended to do, and that is stop new people that are playing their first few survivor matches having just bought the game from going up against "twink" or "smurf" killers with thousands of hours and maxed out perks because those killers will be waiting at rank 15 instead after the patch.

The main issue with the exhaustion nerf is that it won't adress Sprint Burst, at all.Indeed, after the exhaustion nerf Sprint Burst should have an EXTRA nerf to address it.
-
"No, it doesn't. People who want to harass rank 20s clearly don't care about their rank and will just DC if they think they're going to pip from a match."
They also never lose so they will have to DC every game, do you think NEVER earning BP/shards for the rest of the games lifetime will be something they want to do?
They will be at rank 15 de-ranking back to 15 after a couple of rank ups.
Still means that new players will be a lot better off than they are now.You cannot lose pips below rank 15 and killers that play below rank 15 on purpose always stomp all over the survivors, they will be pipping at least +1 every-single-game which means they will have to DC every-single-game, not going to happen.
-
Read somewhere on here that the next 3 are original, Curtain Call was 1 so that's 2 more.
If the next chapter did turn out to be licenced I'd just spend the 18,000 I'd saved on cosmetics instead and get 18,000 more in the 3 months before the next chapter again.
I'll always bank 18,000 before a chapter regardless so it's free when it's not licenced then go for cosmetics after that.
Never spending shards on blodopoints or teachables. -
I prioritise getting 18,000 for the next chapters killer and survivor at 9,000 shards per killer and per survivor.
After that I spend shards on cosmetics.
I get more bloodpoints than I'd ever need by playing killer with BBQ and a party streamer/pudding.
Allready have every teachable unlocked so don't need shards for those either. -
I think you mean Dance With Me which is the one that hides scratch marks when you vault.
Windows of Oppertunity shows all pallets and vault locations as yellow auras until you use one in a chase. -
As killer: 3 kills or better.
As survivor: +1 pip or better. However, I consider the following a "draw":
As killer: 2 kills 2 escapes.
As survivor: a safety pip. This is a loss:
As killer: 1 kill or worse
As survivor: -1 pip or worse. -
People still think that the hatch change and DS nerf will actually make it into the live game this year?
Early 2019 more like it after a handfull of new "revisions" before they actually decide on something and bother to implement it in a patch. -
Guessing Tusday 24th July for the patch.
-
Yes it was.
Losing a generator in the opening seconds was FAR too strong, then factor in that there can be as many as 4 of them per trial.
The dev stream where they announced the BNP nerf also had the following buff's to BNP:- Rareity changed to Purple 6000 bloodpoint cost, will be in the bloodweb a lot more often.
- No longer consumes the toolbox on use, so you can use it on a green or purple toolbox etc and keep the tooolbox for use after the 25% from the BNP.
.
The first change doesn't seem to be on the PTB though as it's still ultra rare.
Also, even if a BNP cost 20,000 BP if it was still doing 100% of a generator in seconds it would still be too strong and need a nerf.
A lot of the time killers dodge a lobby is due to there being too many toolboxes, it's not the toolboxes but the fear of 1-4 BNP's being brought into the game that makes them dodge too many toolboxes.Nerf is needed and it's comming next patch, unfortunately the hatch and DS nerfs are not but that's for another topic, along with "should Mori's be nerfed again too then?".
-
He's the only strong killer console has (Nurse and Huntress are much harder on console) that if you nerfed him we would only have the Doc and Myers left.
So no, nerf something else instead, how about Nurse? :P -
I mean that secret offerings would not be on the screen at all, non existant.
What happens currently is people see the black face down offering and close the game on the offering screen to dodge without penalty as they know it's a mori of some sort.
Some people just adjust their playstyle and be carefull, others dodge causing games to start with less than 4 survivors. -
I'd settle for "secret" offerings which are "all variety of mori / start the trial seperated / with someone else / all together / as far away from the killer as possible" from not being displayed at all on the offering screen.
-
The new Feng Min set with a long ponytail, black hoodie and black pants, if that looks good in game then bye bye Claudette helllo there Feng!
-
100% of the generator via many skill checks - Red "ultra rare" costing 7000 BP
Consumes the toolbox on use. Will become:
25% of the generator via 2 skill checks - Purple "rare" costing 6000 BP
Does NOT consume the toolbox on use.HEAVY nerf but you might see them more often as they will be purple, 1k BP less to buy and you can use them with a purple/green toolbox and not lose the toolbox after the 25% from the BNP.
Still, a nerf is a nerf and a welcome one at that regarding BNP. -
I'll just say what I said in the last thread about it:

I loved how Stefan had the BALLS to stand up and justify all the PTB changes to all the whiners in chat and reinforce why they are needed and why they are going through next patch.
It would of been a lot easier to give in to survivor pressure (like they did with Freddy) and revert or put off the changes. The fact that he did that and then went on to explain the reasoning why BBQ won't see any future changes anytime soon really reinforced my faith in him and his team that this game can and will see good well thought out and much NEEDED balance changes in patches to come such as the ability to close the hatch and DS not causing you to drop survivors anymore.
Who knows, one day Hex totems might get some love at this rate, very impressed!

Well, according to the latest dev stream, BBQ and Chili will NOT be seeing any nerfs. They also said to learn the counters (hiding behind a gen, using the aura reading for mindgames, and staying close to the Killer). You’ll just have to actually take advice from the devs and get better.Yep! exactly this ^
BBQ will NOT be seeing any nerfs and neither will aura reading perks as they are to stay, adapt or die!

I've been online gaming for years, my top 5 online games of all time:
1."Vanilla" World of Warcraft.
2.Quake III Arena.
3.The original Counter Strike.
4.Warcraft 3 the RTS and it's expansion The Frozen Throne.
5.Dead by Daylight.Would definitely put DBD in my top 5 even if it's at the bottom.
-
The something they are doing right is FINALLY bringing the games balance back into line by bringing some excellent and much needed changes to help killers.
The changes so far along with the PTB might just make this a blanced game.
The only things left to do once the PTB goes live would be to make Hex totems last longer somehow and to slow down generators, that's assuming the ability to close the hatch makes it into the game one day too.
The population count is at an all time high due to the excellent changes the developers are making make no mistake. -
Aye true, rank 20-16 will just be the "tutorial ranks" that everyone who simply plays the game will get out of and be at rank 15 which is where the killers that de-rank on purpose will play.
TBH all it does is remove 1/4 of the ranks in reality. -
The event ends on literally the very first second of the 10th, in other words, at 23:59pm on the 9th you have 1 minute left of the event because 1 minute later it's 00:00 the 10th (UTC).
hours:minutes:seconds
23:59:59pm on the 9th
1 second later it's
00:00:00am on the 10th
Should be easy to understand now.

Playing killer on the original Xbox was a slide show compared to playing it on my Xbox One X.
No idea where you got this idea from, do any Xbox One X users that used to play on the original Xbox think they have more FPS "issues" on the X?
For me it was a massive leap forwards and apart from certain killer & map combo's such as Doc + Haddonfield the game runs rather well indeed.
Also, survivor FPS is rock solid no matter what map it is. -
What rank are you?

-
Are you on Xbox?
-
1.Lobby dodging.
2.De-ranking.If one or both of these ever get removed, that's the day I uninstall DBD.
I also check the profile of every survivor in the lobby looking at their DBD gamerscore (X1X). -
It happened this way on Xbox too, first comes 2.0 which was sometime in the afternoon then later that night just after midnight came the DLC Curtain Call.
-
Patrolling the hooked survivor (camping) and going for the recently unhooked survivor who is injured (tunneling) are part of the game and valid killer strategy as are aura reading perks (wall hacks) too.
-
I mean that if the killer is using Insidious to stay near the hook and fool would-be rescuers, a system where the hook sacrifice progress stops if the killer is too close to the hook would make Insidious pretty much useless.
-
And what would be the point of Insidious, you know, a perk the devs put into the game.
-
Currently it's:
00:40 UTC July 5th, no 2x BP event yet.
-
All the official information can be found on this developer post on their official forum:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/7172/ps4-2-0-0-update-
PS4 EU will have access to the DLCs on July 6th at midnight local time (between thursday and friday).
PS4 NA will have access to the DLCs on July 9th at midnight local time (between sunday and monday). They also address the 2x BP event:
What about the Double Bloodpoint event?
This weekend's Double Bloodpoint event will still happen on all platforms as it was originally planned.
We understand that this timing won't allow PS4 NA players to optimize their bloodpoint spending on the new content and we apologize for that.
The process we just went through for Certification took longer than what we planned but is finally behind us.
To make up for the PS4 NA player's inconvenience, we have added an additional Double Bloodpoint event to our event schedule this summer, stay tuned for the dates! -
Yes you will, there will be two and one of them starts tonight, read the official post by the devs on it.
-
I've noticed when playing killer that the framerate DRASTICALLY improves the more survivors die and are removed from the game.
When 3 survivors are dead the frame rate is far better, I'd assume this is down to the CPU.
Oh that's on the X again. -
X, plays like normal for me and I mostly play as the Hillbilly.
The Clown seems to run well too even when I'm spamming toxic bottles.
Survivor has always been fine, the Doc suffers on some maps like Haddonfield and Red Forest etc but he did before 2.0.
No complaints from me. -
When the following planned changes FINALLY make it into the live game (whenever that is):
- Self Care nerf.
- Exhaustion nerf.
- Decisive Strike nerf.
- Brand New Part nerf.
- Ability to close the hatch.
.
When all of these announced/planned changes actually get IMPLEMENTED than I'd have to say a 9/10.
That would increase to a 10/10 if they could finally do something to fix hex totems being removed in the first 30 seconds of the game when it spawns on a hill or right next to a generator / the killer shack etc.
-
Dead by Daylight has aura's and perks that grant you the ability to see them.
It's not cheating, it's not "wall hack" it is an integral part of the game that the developers intended.
Aura's will always be in the game and are here to stay, some older perks are having aura reading added to them soon too so expect more killers to find you via seeing your aura even if you're running Urban Evasion and Premonition to hide on the edge of the map etc. -
I play on the Xbox One X, M&K support is in the works so hopefully it's not too long before I can use my Naga+Orbweaver on my X.
Then it's just frame rate that seperates the two with the PC being superior but DBD on the X is more than playable (but not perfect).
New consoles in 2020 anyway, wonder if DBD will still be around on console by that time.
I used to play on PC too though, from Quake III back in the day to WoW vanilla to the end of Pandaria. -
@Tsulan said:
I really like the new direction the game is taking. After 2 years of non stop catering to survivors, the killers finally get some love.
Keep up the good work, i love it!Indeed I agree, I think many of us feel this way and it's really encouraging to hear the developers ideas and plans for the future.
