  • I’m having an issue where even when they get stunned I still get hit. Like I put the pallet down before they fully swung. I should not get hit.

  • I’ve been having a string of awful survivor teammates. As in, they play selfish, don’t help, immediately open the door and leave. A lot of these players never even get hooked once, but open the exit gates and leave. They do nothing but screw over their team. But hey, they don’t care cause they want to play selfish. As long as they get out it’s ok. It doesn’t help when a lot of people on this forum don’t think of this game as a team game, excusing selfish behavior that does nothing but ruin the experience for everyone else.

  • I ran into three irihead huntresses back to back the other day. I immediately just died on hook. I’m not playing that match. No thanks.

  • If that happens then a lot of forum posts would be e-begging for gifts. Identity V is a mobile DBD basically that does this. They have a chat as well and most of the chat is just e-begging. I don’t know if it’s a good idea.

  • @Kirkylad said:

I've been experiencing it a lot more and having to restart the game. Luckily when it happens I get it after I've escaped or died and get locked in the end screen so I don't get a dc penalty at least, but it's still super annoying to have to restart the game regularly now just to keep playing.

I get it during the endgame screen before anything shows up. None of my progress is saved from the match it’s a waste

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Before the most recent update the game froze on me when it reached the end screen a couple of times. No errors, just an infinitely walking killer and no stats ever appearing, I was forced to close the game and restart it. Any progress on dailies or challenges didn't count, which was definitely the most frustrating part.

I haven't played enough since the update to know whether or not that's still going on.

it seems to happen at least once a day for me.

The way he runs is just so cocky. Like "Haha betcha can't catch me!"

Hey if you’re playing as Huntress I want to be the one chasing you.

  • People aren’t going to agree with you just cause you said OP. I would word it differently. This is suppose to be a horror game. Therefore, the killer should have the power role. However, that’s not the case. The Survivors are the power role and the killer is the sweat and panic role.

Steve and Bunny Feng are the obvious targets, but Nancies also seem to stick out like a sore thumb. I also have a personal loathing of all Aces, especially tinted sunglasses Ace.

I main Ace but I only do it cause he seems like a ladies man :( even have a nice pink shirt and everything. I’m just looking to save the girls and get with Huntress. Dont be hating on Ace.

I would rather a small taco than a large one just saying 😜 but thank you you’ve made me smile I’ll stop being a petty girl and move on and just get better

Always nice to make a nice girl with tatas laugh. Anytime.

I thought you meant taco not my tatas 😂😂😂 I don’t even know how we got here but I’m literally crying with laughter

I mean I guess a small taco would the the same as a small pp. but I prefer small tatas.

I mean...😂😂😂😅 you have made me laugh you’ve really cheered me up haha

No problem lol. But you didn’t deny it so...I’m sorry. Nothing wrong with small tatas

  • If it’s too much and you don’t want to DC go to a corner and look at the wall. That pissed them off more than anything cause now they get no enjoyment. Don’t move, don’t do anything. Just force them to do gens and leave. They gain little BP and walk away more angry than if they lost. Read a book or do something else in the meantime. I’ve done this method before.

  • I would enjoy anything outside the media to further sink my teeth into

  • If they ever get together I would imagine they would complain about survivors. Like over a cup of coffee. “Darn SWF!” Deathslinger

(grunts and swings chainsaw madly)- Leatherface.

  • Why do you want it? Unless you’re survivor I guess.

  • Had multiple matches where fellow survivors tried to get me killed and caught to save themselves. Purposefully vaulting near me while I’m on a gen to get the killer to come, pointing to where I’m hiding to save themselves, tbagging while I’m on hook, etc etc

That part of the store page is the stupidest crap I keep having to hear about from the "iT's nOT a teaM GamE" crowd.

You know what? Sure. Once the exit gates are open. It's not a team game anymore. You're free to piss off and leave your teammates to die once literally all of your objectives are complete.

At every point before that it is. Every mechanic encourages teamwork. You being able to do more harm than good to your team doesn't change this. You know what game really DID have this "it's not a team game" idea in mind?

    Friday the 13th.

Because it wasn't just "gates or pity hatch for the one person". You could call the cops and escape. You could fix the boat and escape. You could fix one of two cars, each with different amounts of seats you could chose to use and drive off. You could wait out the clock. All of this is not only possible to do alone while everyone else is busy with Jason, but entirely feasible. Nothing stopped you from fixing the two-seater all by yourself and just leaving, winning the match for yourself. There's even an achievement for it.

THAT'S a game where you can really go it solo-- because you can win and survive early on while the match goes on as normal for everyone else.

With DbD, the hatch is a pity mechanic for the last survivor to end the game quicker. If you aren't a team player, it's the only way you can get out, and it's not even the purpose of the mechanic. To "play selfish and go alone", you would literally have to get your entire team killed. Before, the hatch only spawned if enough gens were done.

Before that, there wasn't a hatch at all.

You think a dude who "plays selfish" and doesn't help his team like the store page told him to do's gonna do 3 gens by himself? In almost every situation it's nigh suicidal.

    Jesus.

You said it better than I could have. If people want to play like a dick and be selfish in the match fine whatever. Just don’t say it’s not selfish and it’s not a team game, cause it is. If you want to just look after yourself then have at it. But don’t get mad and try to get technical with “you can go solo cause store page says so”, when your survivor teammates chew you out for screwing them over.

  • @Orion said:

If the gate's open and the killer has NOED with no totem in sight, or if I'm injured, I'm out. If you wanted to escape, you should've played better. That's my view, including when the shoe is on the other foot and I'm the one being left behind.

He didn’t have NOED and the guy who opened the gates and left hadn’t even been hooked once! He was the one who immediately opened the gates after I did the last gen and left.

It’s not a team game at all. It’s a game that provides the choice/option to work cooperatively.

The survivor game is designed in such a way whereby there is equal pro and con to working cooperatively, and equal pro and con to working as a lone wolf.

For every benefit that can be listed working as a team, there is an accompanying list of drawbacks that could contribute to a killer turning the match in their favour.

It’s a horror game. There’s SUPPOSED to be uncertainty whether teamwork or lone wolf play is the right choice or wrong choice. And even when one of those options is the right choice it can very quickly swing towards being the wrong choice.

Once again, let’s see if everyone in the match just goes at it alone and see how far they get. It’s a team game. Just cause you can go at it alone doesn’t mean it’s not. You can go stand in the corner and tbag yourself the whole match, doesn’t make it a tbag simulator.

That’s not enough info. How did you go from finishing last gen to dying? Was the killer running Bitter Murmur? Were you foolish enough to finish the gen in the killers face? What exactly happened?

He was 3 gen patrolling. I was outside his terror radius but the gen had to be completed. I made it near the exit gate after he immediately opened it and left. If he waited he could have bodyblocked or got me off hook. He caused the other two to panic and such and they couldn’t bodyblock properly. We could have all easily made it out. Oh btw, he had not even been hooked once yet. He took no aggro for the team or helped unhook. Just did gens and left.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240652/you-know-what-grinds-my-gears

It’s not selfish at all. It’s risk reward regardless of which action is taken with gates. I’ve lost count of the amount of times the very reason I was caught and died was BECAUSE the gate was only 99. It’s not a hard and fast rule that 99 is always the best option.

The killer was on the other side of the map. I completed the last gen. He immediately went and left and caused me to die. It’s beyond selfish.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2085815#Comment_2085815

    @Superyoshiegg

It’s a team based game because if it wasn’t then you alone would be completing 5 gens and taking the killer’s aggro without anyone else helping you.

I get that survivors are not obligated to stick around in an effort to help the other teammates, but saying it’s not a “team based” game is a very weak excuse, not to mention incorrect. Especially since so much before the exit gates can actually be open revolves around working as a team.

Esentially you can do whatever you want, you can hop in a locker and hide the entire match for all we know, but that doesn’t change that someone else did something that helped you either escape or live a little longer.

    Amen brother!

  • @MadLordJack said:

It's one of the big things that keeps the kill rates artificially high: selfish survivors.

    Preach!

  • A lot of people don’t think of the other survivors as teammates. Just made a post and apparently it’s ok to play selfish cause your not a team. All that matters is you getting out. Screw your other survivor players.

  • @Azshhh said:

in case it hasn't become clear, tactics that would be considered toxic or wrong in other multiplayer games are considered fair game in dbd, survivors are teammates to the point of increasing their OWN survival, not others. selfish plays are completely acceptable

Anything is acceptable then by that logic and nothing is toxic then in this game, if it’s not stated so. It’s still a team game even if they don’t state it and only focus on your own survival. No one can do an entire match by themselves. Otherwise the game would be a 1v1 death match.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

I run We'll Make It, Borrowed Time and We're Gonna Live Forever all part as my permanent build (fourth is Iron Will if you're curious). In what way does that make me a 'selfish teammate'?

No, it's not a team game. This isn't a battle royale, where your entire squad wins if one person makes it to the end. If you get knocked out at the start of the match, you've lost. Other survivors escaping does not change that fact.

There's explicitly perks that encourage solo play. Look at Left Behind, Sole Survivor, Technician and Self-Preservation.

Look at the game's official description:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R2M7X8PKVSJG/image.png

That first sentence comes to mind.

Get off your high horse and stop making rude and frankly incorrect assumptions about people you do not know.

you started it by being a dick. I don’t care what that says. It’s a team game. If you think otherwise then go on a match against just you and the Killer and see how long you last. If teammates die off quickly and no one saves everyone dies. It’s a work together team game. If you play selfish you suffer the consequences and lose most of the time.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

They are not obligated to stick around and risk their life. It's not a team game, they don't win if they die but you escape.

It's not their fault for you dying because they opened the door and left, it's on you for not being in a position to escape with them.

Whelp we found the selfish teammate here. Who just leaves. He probably never saves anyone either. And yes it’s a team game. 1v4. Not 1v1v1v1v1. Also find it funny it’s MY fault cause I wasn’t in a position to leave with them when I was the one who popped the last gen. But yes. Totally bro.

  • @Kirkylad said:

I just wish people would 99 the gate and realise bloodwarden is a thing lol.

But honestly this is just one of the perils of playing solo, you have some solo survivors who will go out of there way to help the team and you have others that just play for themselves.

You know I learned from others about 99 cause I watched them when I first became a survivor. It baffles me that a rank 1 would act like that.

  • I was like this but only as Killer funny enough. I was a Ghostface once and murdered everyone but a feng, who was clearly new and had no idea what she was doing. I felt sorry for matching with her cause I was outranking her. I sent her a message saying I’ll let you go and to follow me and I’ll help you get BP. Find totems, finish gens, hit me with pallets etc. she sent me a message saying she was legit scared of me.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

and if the killer has Bloodwarden by some chance, you're all double-######### because now you REALLY have no chance

While that’s rare that’s true too.

  • Anytime a survivor is just hiding the whole match with a key or waiting for hatch I’m hoping they die first.

  • I get occasional lags and such like in a chase or when I’m trying to hit a survivor. I’m a PS4 person.

The puppets got passed down to a child that Andre toulon met in one of the movie.

I still say André needs to be the puppet master for DBD

  • @danielmaster87 said:

When the concept of The Twins were introduced, I was hoping that Victor would be doing stuff, even if it wasn't downing survivors, while you were controlling Charlotte. This is another chance for the devs to attempt something more like that. Though I've only seen the first 3 of the Puppet Master movies, I liked them a lot and would love to see them come to DBD. I don't think the puppets should be able to down people, and maybe not even injure people, in accordance with my idea above.

I would say certain puppets would have to down. The Puppet Master is just a weak old man, unless they decide to do something different than my idea.

And Toulon's mansion from the 1st... 2nd..... 4th and, damn, 5th film would make a badass map. (I was originally just going to say first film before it starting to dawn on me how its the setting for most of the franchise).

Torch would be cool. But also because this game is severely lacking on ways to set people on fire.

Honestly when I say chose 3 puppets I mean out of all them! 6 arm cowboy! You name it!

  • Matchmaking turns off killers for a long time too. Say you are green rank and have been having fun as Killer, you’re learning and getting better. Then all of the sudden you start getting matched with red ranks and purple ranks and you’re only 13 or 12 rank. You start losing, horribly. Match after match. You feel like you just barely learned how to swim and your dad, being a dickweasel, throws you into the deep end of the pool and expecting you to swim like a professional. Instead you start drowning and the people who are swimming like professionals( aka the red rank and purple rank survivors) are pointing and laughing at you. That is what makes Killer player just quit and either become survivors or just leave the game. I admit I’m one of those Killers, green rank killer getting red ranks constantly. I’m slowly playing Killer less and less. I may play a killer match once a gaming session, maybe even less now. Won’t be long now till I stop completely.

well if the minority player base quits (killer) the majority will have no games to play = no money for BHVR

Yes but the company isn’t thinking that far ahead. Plus there is no competition for this type of game so they believe they will always have enough killers.

  • If survivors are already asking for basement to be removed let’s just go all the way now. Should weapons be removed for Killers? Should survivors be able to just kill the Killers?Should Killers just be removed in general? Let’s just turn this game into doing gens and leaving. Gen Simulator by Daylight.

  • @therealcroissant said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2081167#Comment_2081167

Yeh, no one should have total control. When it comes to gen rushers, killers have many perks/abilities to control the map and stop the progress of the gens, but I guess you need to know some experience in game to know this. Also, if the game's being constantly changed like the killer was facing swf only, there should be an in game voice chat like in every coop game, then it makes sense.

The game should be though then only good players would get to red ranks, I find it fair.

It’s a survivors fault if they get downed and are able to be brought to the basement. It helps stops hook farming too and forces survivors to actually have to plan and be wise for a change instead of just rushing to the hook to save their friend. Hooks outside the basement are easy to unhook and get away safely before the killer even knows what’s what. So no, I’m afraid you’re wrong on this.

Both of these maps are filled with tiles the survivors can easily use against him.

A lot of those tiles though are on the edge and most gens are out in the open. So that doesn’t work when you are working on a gen and get found and have to run a mile to the next tile to get away

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 26
