If survivors give me the kills I'm going to let the ones that tried go if I get reported so be it.

You can get banned for it. It’s under the Griefing tab

It's really annoying and unfair but I can't fault a killer for taking an easy match? I mean survivor yeah, punish them hard, nobody likes rats.

Not sure but I don't think the killer should be punished, since in that role its encouraged to kill not matter how. It's kinda a hard question ngl

It makes for a toxic match all around. Usually Killer hates rats and traitors and will kill them for trying to betray their team. This Ghostface wasn’t one of them sadly.

I was looking at your posts, and I was like this guy doesn't seem like a troll, why would he post these things XD.

Came to the conclusion you were jumping on the train of trolls as either a joke or to take the piss out of them.

While I’m not a killer main I don’t see a problem survivor wise. Survivors are strong as ever, and seeing all the constant posts about the DS Nerf made me want to troll for a bit

Good morning to you good person (sir/lady/big flying spaghetti monster/...). What inspired you for this rather below sluzzy level of post?

(Just a funny version of an honest question. Was there some kind of this level of over the top anti killer post anywhere and I missed the spicy bashing started by it?)

Mainly seeing all the posts complaining about the DS nerf lol.

Spawning at the same time isn’t actually a tell anymore it used to be though. As for cross play there is no way to tell besides maybe the same outfit or names

If you load and they are already readied up that’s another tell tale sign of SWF

Depends on how you play survivor

Solo is a complete gamble with teammates and since you rely on them it can be quite unfun

SWF is fairly easy so long as you aren’t memeing

Even with solo as long as two of the team are decent they can carry you really far.

Don't feel bad, clearly from the queue times we can see you're not the only one. I feel like if they don't change Badham soon or meat plant I'll be leaving too because the maps are really getting to me. I know everygame has its good maps and bad but when DBD maps are bad they are extremely bad, to the point that I don't even want to play anymore.

I prefer Badham to Coldwind or Shrine. I don’t do well with huge maps. Badham is small and easier to patrol. I won on that map tonight easily as Demo. I admit the gen placements are kinda bad but it’s the one of the few maps that lean towards Killer.

    Even before the DS.

For me most matches have been a breeze since Clown got the antidote. Chases are easy mode for me now.

Then you must be going up against potatoes. All I ever encounter is SWF and constantly get cold wind. No joke tonight I got coldwind seven times in a row.

  • I think it’s going to go back to how it was. The outcry from survivor mains has been legendary. They will fear for their wallets and reverse I bet. Survivors bring the money. Killers are just the unpaid employees giving the survivors a good ol time.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Strangely I’ve never found killer easier than recently. Bad games as Clown or Doc are a rarity for me.

The only thing that’s changed is the DS to me. It helps but that doesn’t mean the games are any easier.

please stop calling some group of friends seal team 6

you're learning the game. ranks are awful in this game. i am sorry. but REAL seal team 6 squads are VERY few and far between.

however, considering your skill level, any team that has a minimal amount of coordination IS going to be a seal team 6 equivalent for you because of that. sorry, it's just how it is learning this game. hopefully, MMR improves your experience mang.

When they were stating stuff like “lead here him here and I’ll stun him.” “Totem near shack, someone get that while I lead him away.” Etc etc. yes. That’s a seal team 6 to me.

  • @sad_killer_main said:

    It’s hella easier

Playing survivor is playing DbD in easy mode as I like to say.

That's why I play killer first of all, but I completely understand you, I've taken a lot of +4 months breaks from this game because it's completely survivor-sided.

And it has been like that since I started playing back in 2018 more or less, or even before.

You know what’s funny. For awhile Killer is fun. I actually had fun as Legion for a few matches. (Sorry buddy since your profile is Legion lol) but reality hit and it went bad quick. Same with Demogorgon. Every new killer I try I like at the start then their huge shortcomings reveal themselves and I just toss them aside cause they aren’t viable against semi-decent survivors.

  • I’ve gotten this before. If you’re on console don’t just suspend the game. Close it completely then wait another 14 mins and it should fix itself

  • Honestly this post can be why can’t ( any killer that’s not spirit or nurse) be better. Majority of killers are so garbage.

  • @woundcowboy said:

Hold forward and slam pallets early. If your teammates do gens, there is nothing he can do.

Yeah I figured that out. Funny how this game tricks you into having fun with a new killer for a match or two. Then reality hits and you realize it’s another garbage killer and the only good ones are two out of the dozen or so killers. What a waste.

  • Survivor is so boring to me honestly. It’s so easy and not stressful at all. Killer would be fun if it wasn’t the exact opposite. Killer is stressful and the deck is so stacked against you it’s silly.

Most swf will be red rank because of the advantage it gives.

There are not enough killers to give them a game so the devs esentially remove match making once they wait to long.

And thus less killers play in turn. It’s a vicious cycle of going through new killers and losing them to support survivors.

  • @D3spair said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239851/devs-are-purposefully-putting-low-rank-killers-against-high-rank-swf

More like there are less High Rank Killers like because It's easier to uninstall this game than win against constant high rank SWFs.

It's not fun, I rather play Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Doom Eternal on Nightmare because they are hard but feels fair but when I play against 4 Man SWFs Rank 1s it Hard and feels BS 90% of the trial.

I'm a Rank 1 btw getting Rank 1 Survivors too and I'm so close to taking a break again. if I take a break again the Rank 1s SWFs I'm going against will probably go to lower rank Killers.

I really want to enjoy this game. I do. Sometimes I have great and fair matches. But most of the time I’ve lost the match before I even get a hook with how fast gens go. You have everything going against you as killer and as survivors you can make multiple mistakes and still make it out ok. Make one or two mistakes as killer and that’s it.

  • Nevermind. A few more games later and I see Demo is hilariously garbage against even a decent group of survivors. I love how this game tricks you into liking a killer for awhile then pulls the rug out from under you very quick.

  • @loopsahoy said:

Segway, dbds core mechanic is very low.

Lol yeah. And they want to turn DBd into a competitive Esports game. What a joke.

  • @KingFrost said:

Once you reach Green Ranks, you can match up against pretty much anyone. When you face off against SWF like that, you have to set yourself a goal other than "Get a Kill". Learn from a chase. Try to figure out your mistakes. If you just give up, you're missing out on experience. Does it suck? Yeah, it kinda does. But it's just matchmaking for you. It's all a matter of who's available to play in a match in a given region. Otherwise you'd have players with ridiculous ping. (I had a match the other night with someone with 1000 ping! They were teleporting all over the place. They weren't lag switching, because I downed them super easy)

Best thing you can do is honestly lower your expectations. Players with more experience and advantages like comms are going to naturally do better than you.

Why should that be? You’re basically saying lower my expectation of fun and hopefully I’ll get better and have slightly better fun, but in the end still lose due to SWF. Constantly losing isn’t fun to me, even if I get better and suck slightly less.

  • In a competitive sense there would be no choice but to camp. It’s 4 against 1. It’s not Overwatch where it’s one full team vs another. It would be silly to just up and leave and walk around, only for the hooked survivor to get unhooked a few seconds later. Not only that but you have to hook the same survivor multiple times if you’re not tunneling or camping. Unless you’re nurse or spirit and slug everyone Killers are guaranteed to lose in a competition game. Unless they camp and even then the other team can just gen rush and let that one die. This game isn’t made for competitive play cause of the unbalance. Killers aren’t strong enough for it.

  • @loopsahoy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2076493#Comment_2076493

I understand, but swf isnt really an easy problem to fix. I dont know ahat to tell you, i usually play solo, but theres, really nothing you could be punished for except toxicity.

If the SWF was of equal rank to me I would complain less, though they still have a huge advantage. What makes it worse it’s they always place me against red ranks SWF sweat squads. Even if I wanted to get better that’s not teaching me anything. It’s like tossing a middle school football player into the NFL and telling him “git gud.” It’s better to DC in my opinion cause if enough people complain about killers DCing against SWF either they will punish SWF, which seems unlikely, or punish Killers harder, which seems more likely. Honestly I’m fine with either. Cause if they punish killers more then more killers will leave and their game will suffer hard. Then they will actually have to think up a solution.

So I've been playing this game for a few weeks. Mostly survivor, and I'm about Rank 11 at the moment. At first, I really liked the game. It seemed fun, and the concept appealed to me. But after a few weeks due to the behaviour of other players it's becoming almost intolerable. To the point where I question why on earth would I pay for this.

Today has just been one crap match after another. Of course, almost every single Killer camps the hook. It's getting to the point where I just come to expect it, and sure, it gets annoying when the other survivors dive bomb and screw us all over when they should probably just do generators. I don't blame them though, because as much as it's encouraged for all of us to become sociopaths devoid of empathy, I understand how miserable it feels to be that first player camped on a hook. What a waste of time. So it's easy to see why people try hard to save them.

Of course, it appears the game creators seem to perfectly support facecamping, which is annoying, but since it's in 80% of my matches, it's not going anywhere. So I thought that maybe I can get some friends into it and play with them so it's not as irritating (I can literally tell them to do generators).

What I don't understand, and cannot tolerate very well, is when I'm the last survivor in the match, and when the Killer downs me, he/she becomes an absolute ass. Just today, this has happened to me quite frequently; the Killer downs me, and rather than just hook me and let me move on, they carry me around the map, drop me. Pick me up, drop me. Run around me swiping their weapon, and just stand there being a shithead making me stay in game until I bleed out.

Another match a Killer (Wraith) left me on the ground once again, left me to bleed out by 3/4 while he searched for the hatch. He picks me up, takes me to the hatch. Has me crawl to the hatch, then slams it in my face. Then he proceeds to clang his bell *CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG* the entire time, never hooking me, once again, until I bleed out.

I'm not ashamed to say that I closed the game rather than put up with it. Because why on earth should I PAY for a game where I can have my time eaten up by some demented child who just wants to make my experience insufferable? Oh! But then I get a penalty of course, and the jerk is off to do it to the next player.

Because that makes sense, Punish the person who literally has no choice but to be some weird ego-boost for a 15 year old psychopath, or get a "time-out".

I'm on PS4, and I do see the option to hit "Report" and choose a reason. But I'm not convinced at ALL that these reports go anywhere. Either that, or it's possible that the behaviour I'm encountering is considered normal gameplay, and much like face-camping, it's a pat of the back and 'good job, slugger!' from the developers.

I suppose after my rant that is my question; is this just what I should continue to expect? If so, then I don't think I want to carry one with it. Or are these actions reportable? Does reporting even do anything?

Without evidence, those report buttons are meaningless. And while the killer was being an ass to you I don’t think it’s enough to get punished. Survivors and Killers are both jerks to one another cause that’s what this game feeds on. It’s an us vs them mentality. With one side always says The other is op or needs nerf. This game is toxic to its core. I don’t enjoy the toxicity but it’s a part of the game.

  • @loopsahoy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239851/devs-are-purposefully-putting-low-rank-killers-against-swf

This is HIGHLY stereotypical. Swfs are not any different in coding for matchmaking than solo survivors, except for seeing them in lobby and such. How dbd is coded, matchmaking could be random. Just wait until mmr comes back.odds may be stacked against you, but you have to try. Thats how you learn to manage most situations. Also, use factual arguments. Saying a twitch streamer was salty and then saying you will dc until further notice only degrades peoples ability to understand what you mean.

I don’t learn anything as a Killer cause there is nothing to learn against a 4 man SWF on comms. Unless I learn hacking and can listen in on them in real time. There is no counterplay to constant updates to their team on what I’m doing, where I’m at, and what each person is doing.

  • I’ve been getting cold wind back to back for awhile now. I’m sick of it. That still needs a rework more than anything. SWF and solo alike know it’s terrible for killers and I always get sent there. I would almost prefer Haddonfield just for the variety

  • @NoelleMina said:

I get the concept, but there will definitely be trolls who would mess with this.

    Yeah. I can’t deny that.

  • @Rougual said:

If you play Blight and time it right you can swing into any pallet during a rush and never take a stun, its a win/win situation in my eyes because survivors don't get the bloodpoints.

    >Drop it early Blight breaks it with letal rush.

    >Drop it in Blight and Blight slides off with no stun.

    >Drop it late Blight gets the hit.

Lol well it’s a lose/lose for survivor lol. While it may work for Killers it’s kinda unfair lol.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

Best I can offer is if I'm in a three man and the one that joins, should they also be on Xbox, we invite them to chat. Whether they accept or not I do not consider them expendable and will get them out if I can. This can be at times unpopular with my team depending on how they view "their contributions and play" all very subjective to be sure. I still try. I wish it was easier to get comms with all platforms.

Sadly I’m in PS4 or else you sound like a very good teammate.

Look like you drop the pallet on me (had a player drop it while I picked up a survivor and abandon after that) but the timing wasn't good.

    No wasnt me.

  • Just had a trapper camp constantly throughout the match. I don’t think they are boring killers though. That belongs to Nurse and Spirit. I just want to leave when I face off against them.

  • How can we ignore it? There’s a new post about it every other second.

Alright, here's a couple screens. First is to show how before entering a lobby your character look like they're standing in front of a green screen,

the 2nd shows how weirdly dark most of the survivors look in a lobby. Their names were blanked out just for habit's sake.

    Yup. That’s my screen too.

  • @miketheratguy said:

I can't ######### stand survivor / killer alliances. Camping is lame, it ruins the game for the person on the hook and forces everyone else to play a specific way if they want to win. Tunneling is lame because it just is, it's annoying for the survivor and does nothing for the killer. Slugging is what is it. But, I can at least acknowledge that these are legitimate strategies. I main as a survivor but I don't hate killer players like many others do, I think playing as the killers can be a lot of fun too (though I myself try to avoid all of the above actions).

Survivors who work in collusion with the killers? That's just plain straight-up bullshit. It deliberately and directly ruins the game for all players other than the two (or more) who are working with each other to farm points and get off on "teabagging" (because, contrary to popular belief, being able to cheat to get someone down and then press a button repeatedly once you've done so is difficult AND impressive).

Whenever I see this, which is at least once a day, I just report both participants and move on, expecting that nothing will likely be done. The devs do a lot of work to balance the game but this seems to be an ongoing problem, it would be nice if they built in some kind of detection that would alert the game when a killer and survivor spend any significant time just standing around each other, or if the survivor runs behind or alongside the killer, etc. I know, I know. It would be difficult to do such a thing when stuff like that happens during regular, fair games. But I'm sure that there's some way to eliminate this. Again, I just have to report and hope that it's taken seriously. It sucks. I can't understand the infantile mindset of someone who enjoys a game not by playing it, but as a means to funnel their sociopathic tendencies.

I agree with everything except devs doing a lot of work. They have stated they only work on the game when they feel like it. They have openly admitted they are lazy and feel no need to work on the game. That’s why issues that have plagued this game since the start are still here or just now getting fixed.

  • I will say with the amount of dead zones I’ve been encountering lately and just so happen to go against Trickster it’s a recipe for disaster. Maybe I’m just unlucky but I’m getting huge empty dead zone maps and having Trickster as the killer.

  • What everyone needs to understand is it’s not “fair” to the survivor. You as Killer are here for the enjoyment of the survivors. You come second to the devs. Survivors pay for t. Cosmetics. You are essentially killer bots with a little more intelligence. If Killers were allowed to switch when you realize you’re up against a 4 man SWF and you’re clown then that means the SWF will have less enjoyment and we can’t have that. Now dance Killer dance for the amusement of survivors!

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Sucks playing solo only to discover the others are SWF and you're the odd-one out. God forbid I manage to survive while others die, because they will absolutely spectate so they can tell their friend where I am. This is why it's better to just have fun as survivor rather than play to win; if I don't play to win, they can't screw me over. Because it's not fun to play 1v4 as survivor, yet that's how it so often feels.

(And no, I never hide all match. That's not fun: that's pointless.)

If you’re in a 3 man SWF and the odd one out then you are cannon fodder. I had one match where I was the odd one out and got hooked first time, after saving them multiple times. They just gen rushed and let me die on first hook. Didn’t even try to save me.

  • I just die on first hook if I hate the match, especially if I’m running against a Nurse or Spirit. No thank you.

  • @Firellius said:

It's not just the lobby though, the post-match screen has some horrid rendering issue that floods the area with light and makes it look extremely low graph and unpolished. Pretty sure shadows are gone from lobby and post-game too.

I meant the characters look like shadows. Like you can barely tell who they are.

  • @How_Hamhaesque said:

I'm on PC and noticed this as well, as did at least one other person in a discord I'm at. I actually really like the aesthetic and would love to see a map like this (I know, they're not making new maps right now), but the most rightward survivor in the lobby plus my killer look like they're shopped over the scene. Like they're standing in front of a green screen. It's very strange.

Are the rest of the survivors shadowed out too?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Demo is a strong killer, people just heavily underestimate the big guy. Anti-loop, mobility, mindgame potential, faking shreds, tracking ability and insane 3-gen pressure. In the right hands, they are one of the strongest B-tier killers in the game (probably even the strongest in the B-tier) IMO.

He seems pretty good so far. I fear though he won’t be good at all in indoor maps. Most of my maps have be open maps.

  • @SilentPill said:

I think he’s pretty junk. He can be OK at straight loops but his shred does almost nothing at circular loops.

He still takes two hits to down people, he can be fed pallets, and his mobility both takes time to set up and can be taken away.

I mean I managed to get a 4K at cold wind from a SWF just now. Maybe I just got lucky or they were bad, though they were all purple and red ranks. His lunge works for me if I do it before they reach the pallet. And putting portals around gens and hooks helps patrol the area. Probably how it will go for me though is first couple of games were great, the rest I’m going to eat dirt.

  • High MMR will ruin the game for streamers. Who just want to get content for their twitch and Youtube and if they are constantly having to sweat and possibly lose all the time their content will suffer. They want potatoes to go up against.
