Poor piggy.....
Anyway going still with the argument, still doesn't make sense. Ok avoiding remember me stacks, but there will be always an obsession. If it's not you then someone else, SO what's the meaning of decresing the chance???
I guess it just gives u eyes on another survivor during the trial so like permanent bond. can help if obsession is in a chase so you know killer isnt near you, and like mentioned above can help if the killer has an obsession based perk like remember me etc. also i guess killers are more likely to pick u up if your not the obsession and you have D-strike.
Honestly its not overly useful and its uses are quite niche.

Killers hate gen rushing so they make perks to stop that, but when it comes to camping they don’t make perks to stop that. Kindred isn’t the only one, but it’s not good. The point is is that killers can get perks to stop things they hate, but survivors can’t get perks to stop what they hate?
I'm not saying that, im pretty much fine with DS. the only complaint i have with it is the ridiculously long timer because it goes from anti-tunnel perk to 60 seconds invisibility. either make it so when someone else is hooked it switches off for the other person, lower the timer its active or make it not apply when EGC is active.

It's not though. Think about it.
If you're on a hook(unable to play the game), finally get off the hook, only to be put back on in less than 60 seconds of being able to play, you're not going to want to play the game anymore.
You didn't even get to play the game. You just showed up, got tunneled to death, and wasted your time.
well, you did get to play the game otherwise you wouldn't be on the hook in the first place. Its not fair that the killer isnt able to hit that survivor for a full minute, in 60 seconds you can get almost a full generator done. and if its saved until EGC like some people do, its a free escape.
-
honestly, just gen rush
-
facecamping IS a strategy for killers, and if they see success with it i see no reason for them to stop doing so. The thing to try and do is make it so its not successful for killers to do it in the future, rush gens and get out, that way they get only 1, maybe 2 kills max if they get lucky.
Also try not to t-bag killers or anything, cause if it pisses them off and you get away, you can be sure quite a few will just facecamp in the next game.
-
@Zixology the problem, is that the timer on it is ridiculous, 60 seconds is a massive amount of time, so much so that it either gives the survivor invisibility to do a generator for a minute and combine this with say deliverance is very OP, or you chase someone else and come across the survivor again and down them, just to be caught in the end seconds of DS. either that or survivors follow you and tank a hit for another survivor, knowing full well they can just get a free escape. even worse at end game.
now, cause it is a meta perk, imagine multiple survivors running it. its still OP, it still needs changes.
-
no thanks, i dont want the game to cater to survivors even more

While that reasoning holds for perks, with addons it does not.
Addons/Offerings/Items aren't present every game. So the equivalent on the other side can't be brought in order to maintain balance since they won't even know in advance to do that.
If every game had both an instant heal and a mori or at least something equivalent in terms of extra power (thus not counting Perks and Basekit) then yeah we could compare the 2 directly and say that it evens out.
However since that isn't true we end up with the Survivors being sometimes super OP and the Killer being sometimes super OP.
i actually agree with this :)

Doesn't matter what the other side has. Both need to be nerfed. Ebony mori is also the one most powerful thing in the entire game.
That may be so, but i was only talking about the game state rn, considering everything in it. if you nerfed the other side via insta heals, second chance perks etc. then yes, it would be a different situation entirely and be considered OP.
-
Current DS imo is more busted than the original and needs a nerf. However, the devs seem to think its in a good spot so i dont imagine changes soon ;/ the only real problem is that the timer lasts WAAAAY too long, so much so that its basically invisibility for a solid minute.
-
Considering the amount of things survivors have, i think the ebony mori is in a good spot right now, its been previously nerfed to not be too OP, and yet to actually have an affect on the game unlike what some ppl are suggesting.
-
simple answer. yes, killers need a buff.

It's ironic that the person who entered the thread crying "baaaaait!" is trying to lecture me on how to properly debate. Also, this conversation could have ended with me telling you I'm not interested in debating you, but instead you chose to insult me as a person.
and yet you pursue on replying to my message, YET AGAIN. and YET AGAIN, you add nothing new to the conversation. the reason i say its bait is because its his first post on the forums and instantly starts crying about eboni moris being over powered, and fair enough, when you first start playing the game, pretty much everything the killer has is overpowered. But if you look at it from a viewpoint from people who actually somewhat understand the game, its very balanced. Now im going to leave it here, if you do want to debate the topic i would be more than happy to, but if you want to continue raving about how i entered the thread and how to "properly engage in a debate" then i quite honestly cant be arsed. If you want to get your opinion across i pass the reigns over to you, otherwise, so long.

Oh no, @Dr_Trauts has an unfavorable opinion of me! Whatever will I do?! 😭
Also, there are no facts here, it's opinion. Balance changes = opinion. Your comment was basically "I don't like your idea because it's balanced as it is now." Not a fact to be seen.
So instead of actually engaging in a debate with me, you resort to childish sarcasm. Very well done. If you want to have a debate about balance them please be my quest, just stop with the childish attitude please as its just quite boring honestly and wasting both our times.
EDIT: and FYI, i didn't delete the previous comment as i stated earlier, it sounded like bait and i stick to that.

Nah. I have no interest in debating you because you come into topics and cry "bait," though.
Edit: I see your comment was deleted. 🤔
hmm, sounds to me like you dont want to show yourself up. If you have opinions with no factual basis behind them then fair enough, just dont @ me when trying to defend it. and no, i didnt delete the comment, i stick by what i said. it sounded like bait, and moris arent OP. if u want to discuss it further then fair enough if not then i guess i know what kind of person you are ;/

@brokedownpalace said:
Maybe the ebony mori should be changed so you have to hook every remaining survivor at least once before you can mori any of them. OR, once gates are powered you can mori anyone you hooked once.
For example, you hook Claudette, Meg but not Jake. Dwight is dead. Jake DCs or uses a key. You can now mori any of the remaining survivors.
Another example: you hook all three except Jake again but now gates are powered. You can mori any of the three you already hooked but you cannot mori Jake, UNLESS you hook him and down him again before he's able to escape.
Edit: fixed the first scenario
This would make them almost useless, they have already been nerfed into a position where they are now viable wihtout being OP. it shoudl stay that way
-
Moris are a fair mechanic, or rather, they give the killer an edge against survivors for once.

i mean, the reason so many killers run it is because a lot of the worse killers rely on it at the higher ranks, killers that lack pressure need that extra edge in order to maintain the length of the match and ruin is the best way to do that. I would say its balanced, but it might need to be changed so it lasts longer on average if anything.

No matter what you do, someone will view you as toxic.

u cant stun her while shes blinking

NOED doesn't need to be changed at all. It was changed from its original released form to have built in counter-play that the survivors could quite easily achieve. As a result it rewards killers for survivors either being lazy and not cleansing totems, or it rewards the killer for the survivors gen rushing.
If survivors hate NOED that much, then its really simple. cleanse totems. At least theres counterplay to NOED unlike many survivor perks. i.e. Adrenaline.
-
care to expand on that

That would be objectively false. Downing and hooking survivors is something every killer can do.
Of course they can, every killer has the POTENTIAL to perform at red ranks in certain conditions. im just saying some killers find map pressure more difficult than others, weather it be map dependant, the killers mobility or chase potential. It often isnt as black and white as down a survivor and hook them when many other factors play a role in the match that effect the killers pressure, some (or quite of few) of which are entirely out of the killers control.
-
@Peanits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/633323#Comment_633323
That's not what pressure is. Pressure is more along the lines of, 'I have one guy hooked, one guy slugged, and I'm chasing a third so the last guy needs to go for the save or else everyone dies.' i.e. Forcing them to do stuff that isn't a generator.
the only problem is you can't do that with quite a few killers. and only the top end killers have the capability to do it really. At the higher ranks at least
-
against compitent survivors, most of the time his power means nothing
-
i agree, although sometimes it can be frustrating, the game needs at least SOME form of unpredictability.
-
Swap Hag and Spirits position.
-
if you dont get it dont worry, the ranking system for killers tends to be based more on the shortcomings of survivors than the killers merit.

Whenever we do an add-on pass these days, we bring them in line with other killers. There's a standard for add-ons now.
- 4 common
- 5 uncommon
- 5 rare
- 4 very rare
- 2 ultra rare
What those add-ons are going to be, I can't say.
thanks for the response ;)

A hotfix wouldn't be possible, no. Typically hotfixes come out a week or so after the last update and include only bug fixes- the exception being 3.0.1, which included balanced changes that were planned and didn't make it in on time. There is not enough time to balance and update perks or killers in that time.
To use an example, an update comes out on Tuesday. For the next two or three days, we can make changes. At that point we need to lock down the update and send it off for certification. It wouldn't be enough time to properly test and balance things, we would just be changing numbers and hoping for the best.
Just to reiterate on the nurse; we are primarily focusing on her add-ons. Any changes to her base kit are going to be very minimal.
probably an obvious question but ill ask it anyway. I assume as addons are getting the most attention, mainly being changes to a few of her already existing addons, will there be addon adjustment. e.g. the introduction of 2 new ultra rares.

Green and pink mori's are super, super powerful. Ebony is basically GG before the lobby starts everytime I run it, and I use dying light with the green mori and tunnel the obsession down for an easy dying light proc.
If they want to nerf mori's they need to hit purple and pink keys as well, which are basically the survivor equivalent and equally broken.
Exactly. If they WERE to nerf moris (which i dont think they should) then survivors keys and insta heals should also be nerfed. Otherwise your simply balancing to a specific side.

Bad way to look at it IMO. The question should not be "Was it already adjusted?" It should be "Is it balanced?"
to which the answer is, in the current state of the game, yes. they are balanced.

I wouldnt complain personally but I was attempting to find some middle ground..sadly..some people dont want a convorsation..just their way or the highway
thing is, surely the middle ground has already been reached? The mori was nerfed from what it once was and nerfing it again would make it redundant. Granted there are worse suggestions to the mori out there, but say if one survivors hides all game and does nothing while everyone else gets on with gens.
Mori is useless and a waste of points. Moris already got nerfed, and they are fine as they are. Or do you disagree?
-
or, just leave eboni moris alone? they have already been nerfed. they are completely fine the way they are.
