For example, not lots of people uses Urban Evasion, and its only good for The Hag, I use it on my build and every time I face her I feel blessed because Im out of flashlights.
Same with Balanced Landing, sure its great if its your kind of game, but in some maps its totally useless.
What you say it would be terrible if 4 players are using it, but thats one in a million, also what you propose? killer can see the player using OOO but not the other way?
Or how about object of obsession doesn't work at all against those killers? Granted urban evasion works well against hag etc. like you've suggested, but your not crouching all around the map constantly, you'll only crouch when you know theres a trap there.
Having object of obsession work against stealth killers means you know where they are ALL THE TIME and it can be extremely unbalanced. Although im fine with killers having counter play through perks such as urban evasion for hag or calm spirit for Doc, the idea of a perk completely REMOVING a killers ability is absurd and should not be allowed.
Either it shouldnt work at all against stealth killers while they're in stealth, or the killer should only be able to see them. Only while they are in stealth form mind you. It would at least put a bit of risk into running such a strong perk.

Lets begin with the fact that SURVS DONT KNOW WHAT KILLER ARE FACING, so some perks are gonna help them with some particular killers, and some others wont.
okay, thats great. And what im saying is that object shouldnt help agaisnt those specific killers. Just becuase you bring Object of obsession doesnt give you the right to use it aginst a killers if said killers ability is made completely redundant because of it. And saying "i dont know what killer im facing, therefore i should be able to use it against every killer" isnt a very good excuse now is it?

Dude, I'm more willing to believe the stats even if it's not my experience than believe they're literally fabricating statistics
fair enough, i guess we're all entitled to our opinions

Lemme get my tinfoil hat too real quick
i just think the % for rank 1 gameplay is a bit too low is all. after all this is the people that should know what theyre doing, and they're only a few % above rank 20s in comparison
-
Dev statistics are false, everyone knows this
-
i agree with OP. object shouldnt work against a cloaked wraith or a GF in stealth. the idea that a single perk can make some killers powers completely redundant is ridiculous.
And yet survivors complain when they get tunnelled out of the match because of it.
-
no, the removal of ebony moris would be absurd.
-
No. Killers don't need any more nerfs thank you.
Just Git Gud basically.
-
he isnt OP.

@Milo said:
I don't think this is the way. (also T3 Myers would be insane)
I would just wait till the map rebalances.
map rebalances can take months or even years. why not add the changes now as a temporary fix and then revert them once maps are fixed?
-
@shyguyy said:
Or, and this is just me brainstorming here, you could take the time to learn how to run each tile efficiently and effectively as a killer and improve your overall game play. I believe ScottJund and OhTofu both have videos detailing the various tiles.
With that being said, there are still a lot of loops where this isn't the case. and so the OPs change would be beneficial.

Bugs are a different topic.
When talking about how viable is something people always assume the way it is intended, bugs aren't included in the equation since they are just that, bugs, and they are expected to be fixed asap.
If it's taking ages for BHVR to get it fixed, that's also a different topic.
i mean, if its taking ages for BHVR to fix bugs, some present since/since not longer after his release, then surely as they arent being addressed they need to be factored as part of the killer itself.
Theres no point saying "thats not the way the killer was intended to play" when in reality thats HOW they play because of it. Also, bugs aside, i feel he has some aspects which hinder him greatly. slowing down when throwing/reloading bottles, not slowing over pallet vaults etc. etc.

No he is not, you just don't know how to play him probably.
haha. okay bud. guess all his bugs and shortcomings don't exist. gottcha

Clown is far from being the worst killer, tf are u talking about?
Thing is, he is really bad.
-
either the freddy rework or the change that made snap out of it no longer considered a healing action on Doc
-
Darn, really thought ppl would agree with clown being the worst killer in the game. Guess we all have our opinions ;)

@Dr_Trauts I suppose you're right, but is a toolbox the same as being able to teleport to generators, throw hatchets, teleport across the map? No.
Well no of course not. But what im saying is if survivors get passive abilities like that, then the game will become survivor sided. and moreso some survivors won't see any play, while others are played all the time due to the better abilities.
-
if this happens, the game dies
-
@Atrushan88 said:
@Dr_Trauts Survivor items are the same as killer addons. They even take the same spot.
no, survivor addons are like killer addons. THEY even take the same spot

killers all have something unique ... an axe , a saw , teleport , dreams etc
yes, your right. survivors can also have flashlights, toolboxes, maps etc.
The point of passive abilities is if it were to work at all, its something that would have to go both ways.
-
im all for survivors getting passives as long as killers also get passive abilities.

Would the stationary doctor illusions stay as well as the moving ones? Or would it be in replacement of the stationary ones?
-
Her base kit is 100% balanced and fine. If people refer to Tofu's video then its completely one sided and not a very well fleshed out discussion if im honest. Survivors need to adapt to her unique playstyle and learn to play against it rather than the same find a pallet and loop like they do for every other killer. Stealth is a part of the game less you forget.
With that said, im only defending her base kit, her addons may need some looking into and im fine with that.

@Peanits said:
They're a bit of a touchy subject. They're good and worth taking, but they're also completely dependent on the survivor bringing an exhaustion perk to begin with. Moreover, it hurts the weaker exhaustion perks (e.g. Head On) more than it does the stronger ones (e.g. Sprint Burst). A perk that activates right away is almost guaranteed to go off before you can use that add-on while something like Head On requires setup and typically can't be used right away.
Previously, they were in a much better spot. Even if they were using a perk that activated right away, being able to keep them exhausted was very useful. Now that exhaustion doesn't cooldown in a chase, they basically guarantee that certain perks can't be used while others go more or less unaffected.
We can't say if or how they will change right now, but they might be looked at in the future.
I mean. That judgement is fair enough regarding they are a lot stronger now that the exhaustion status effect has changed by no longer cooling down during chase. But removing/hard nerfing exhaustion addons puts the killer in the exact same position as they were in before in the sense that they wouldn't really have a counterplay to exhaustion perks.
If the devs feel like they need to be changed in some way then fair enough to properly seperate them from one another like @Mister_xD suggested. But im just hoping they arent nerfed too much or flat out removed for that matter.
Also, Its not like every killer has exhaustion addons either. So to say it burdens certain exhaustion perks more (like head on) goes hand in hand in that respect. As lower killers benefit more from them than higher tiered killers (some of which don't even have these addons available).

@Kerbert said:
The slowed movement speed when charging and throwing bottles isn't a bug, and it's hardly substantial considering the hinderance penalty survivors get. He's also good at herding.
my mistake with the wording. i mean to say they were two seperate things. his bugs and the slowdown. But survivors can just camp pallets and his slow down is pretty redundant
-
@Mister_xD said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/609014#Comment_609014
oh, they probaply will.
but as i said, its the only thing making clown really threatening. at least HIS exhaustion add on should stay / be put into his basekit.
clownie needs buffs anyway, so why not?
i can definitely second that
-
@Kerbert said:
Legion, Bubba, and Wraith existing is my reasoning. Also hes pretty good at slowing down and ending chases. Im not arguing he's top tier or anything, just not the worst.
I mean the killers you've listed area pretty low tier killers without any argument i don't think. However, the reason why i think clown is the worst killer is simply because hes got so many bugs. He gets slowed when using his power and he actually gets slowed when throwing hit bottles. There are 2 or 3 videos made solely listing out clowns bugs. But yeah, those are low tier killers also with their own shortcomings, i just think clown is at the bottom of them.
-
@Mister_xD said:

well, the higher rarity add on could also add a secondary status effect, that would also work.
like i said, i wouldnt like them to be gone neigther. the exhaustion add on is like the only thing that gives me a good reason to play clown xD because he actually has a very threatening chase ability with it.
Hopefully its only something like that. If its a nerf to them ill be annoyed tho as it sounded they were more leaning in that direction.
-
@Kerbert said:
Ok buddy.
I mean. Feel free to disagree, just whats your reasoning behind it?
-
@Kerbert said:
Clown? Worst Killer?.....what
Yes. Clown is the worst killer in the game at the moment.
-
@Mister_xD said:
i think certain exhaustion add ons would have to be removed (the ones with higher tiers to them, since the brown one and the purple one both have the exact same effect, so its a waste to bring the purple one)
but i think they should generally stay.
i like the clowns exhaustion add on - it makes him a threat.
imo, keep the lowest grade of them and rework the higher graded ones to have different effects.
I mean, i agree the two rarity of addons need to be further apart from one another in design as you've said they effectively do the same thing. But i still don't think these addons should be removed entirely which may be the case.
-
@indieeden7 said:
Because exhaustion perks can only be used once in a chase and *most of the time* only extend the chase by a few seconds. Also, clown's solvent jug takes no skill to apply the effect as the bottles cover a moderately large area.
Yeah but they are still pretty strong with no real counter play. At least having the addons an option for the killer means if they want to try and prevent some exhaustion perks they have the option too. And seen as clown is the worst killer in the game at the moment with the devs not too interested in buffing him, i think he needs all the help he can get honestly.
-
All Doc needs is:
1.) reduce/get rid of movement slow when charging shock.
2.)Maybe slightly increase its base range
3.) add a 2nd ultra rare addon,
4.) FIX HIS BUGS
5.)make snap out of it considered a healing action again
6.) increase the time a successful shock blocks interactions from 2.5 to 3 seconds.
Boom, and hes fine.
-
...
-
i mean, your running a lot of 2nd chance perks and if u were toxic in game its only naturaly hes gonna be pissed and be toxic in the after game chat. can't really pin all the blame on him tbf
-
@ASAPTurtle said:
@Dr_Trauts So your saying that if I were to play nurse or Billy it's unbalanced?
I mean no not really
-
Doc is 100% fine, if anything he needs some buffs, not more nerfs.
-
its not cheating cause its allowed within the game. However, it is unbalanced as it is giving one side an easier time than the other. You can't dispute that
-
reduce charge time on shock/get rid of slow down
fix his bugs.
Make snap out of it a healing action again
increase the time shock blocks interactions from 2.5 seconds to 3 seconds
Boom. hes done (add a second ultra rare)
-
its.... really bad
-
@Jdsgames said:
They most likely will be fixing that in a later patch. It was made a base perk to not having bill. You can't have bill perks without bill so they did the next best thing. Now it will probably be reverted to normal.
surely itd change to the status quo for pc. his perks are no longer neutral and need to be unlocked like everytone else?
-
huh, it hasnt even been a full day yet. I was so sure thats all the time was needed to know how to play against and counter a killer effectively. Guess not, let the nerfing commence!
-
... at least dash attacks won't take away STBFL stacks... i think?
-
Like OG said, you get stuff weather you pay for it or not. And if you don't want to pay for it, its just cosmetics. No p2w features at all.
-
Idk what you all were thinking with these pig skins, I really wanted them until I had to realize how damn expensive they were.
I imagine the reason they priced them this high was becuase they are lisenced skins.
-
You have done a lot of work on the Freddy rework so now should you have more time to do other stuff like nerf and buff other killers so.
she doesnt need to be nerfed/
-
@RoKrueger said:
This Freddy isn't for hitting survivors. You don't have access to all the information you used to get from sleeping survivors: Are they on a gen? Are they with another survivor? Are they far from other gens? Are they near a safe loop? Are they going for a save?
All that was gold. I will play him anyway because I am a hopeless Freddy's fanboy, I will have to adapt, but I feel melancholic and sad now :-(
This rework wasnt made for freddy mains, it was made for the people who never play freddy. unfortunately
-
Old freddy didn't suck at all. In fact hes better than the reworked version. Its just not a lot of ppl could use his power effectively, and as a result, the devs have listened to all the ppl who dont main him/play him all that often. So hes getting changed unfortunately.
-
No he shouldm't. Just loop him like every other killer. its really not all that difficult
