I can’t see the text too well but I can just see it. Keep in mind the time between the shock going on cooldown and the stun taking place. There could be a full second or so between the shock cooldown and the stun kicking in. If you play him now you can tell that when you let out the shock, it doesn’t stun them immediately, you have to time it. There’s even been time’s where I think I’ve stunned someone but it hasn’t even kicked in yet and they’re already past the vault or drop the pallet.

i suppose i didnt take this time into consideration, thank you. However, this overall time of 3 seconds is STILL a bit too long in my opinion

Where did 3 seconds come from? I don’t think they’d make it that long, that would totally go against what the stun is for.

i was worried at first, but I believe it’s to fill in for the lack of a stance switch now. The way it works is that you zap, switch stance and smack. This cooldown will most likely fill that gap, as to not make getting hits immediately after a shock too easy. So really it shouldn’t feel different to before, but because you’ll always be 115%, you’ll be a tiny bit faster.

I understand why it was put into place to be similar to that of before, however, making this last 3 seconds last longer than how the survivors are blocked for. Meaning you can shock a survivor and after 2.5 seconds they will be able to drop pallets/vault pallets or windows, whilst you as the killer still have 0.5 seconds left before you can interact with anything. Meaning that shocking is essentially useless with this much of a cooldown between interacting with survivors

The new Doc is not intended to be a nerf. If there is a problem with his power level after this update, we will adjust accordingly in a later patch.

not intended to be a nerf? so whats with the whole 3 second cooldown deal goin on?

With the 3 seconds cooldown between shocking and interacting, and with the shock only blocking interactions for 2.5 seconds. you guys realise the shock does absolutely NOTHING now right?

  • tbf, the evil incarnate achievement requires you to have an ultra rare, or two in fact. so with this achievement now requiring an ultra rare its just become a lot harder, but not impossible by any means.

  • thank you for the sarcasm!

edit: but in all seriousness this did make me laugh

The tell I feel is pretty obvious. Once you see someone go down from healthy once, you know she's using it. Ideally you don't want to get hit by a hatchet even if she's not using it, so it's not really a "too little too late" situation.

Anyway, I'd be totally okay with that personally. The most interesting idea I've heard was to make long range hatchets (>24m or 32m) instantly down people. That way it stays powerful, but requires a lot more skill to use and has way more counterplay. What do y'all have in mind?

    no

  • Why should this be scrapped? Because it gives a challenge to survivors? Surely in this instance the game would give more engaging instead of the pitiful excuse deep wounds is of a status effect at the moment.

And honestly, the snap out of it skillchecks are some of the biggest in the game, if you can't hit them and end up going into the dying state you've got no-one to blame but yourself. Don't nerf the game because you can't do something straight away, actually stick at it and try and get good rather than nerfing everything into the ground.

  • His addons have plenty of versatility already

Work to get moris? That’s funny. All you have to do is hook, tunnel, and kill. You know how many times I’ve gotten saved only to hear the “WHOOOOSH” from the Spirit just to get downed and moried?

One time, about a year ago I was salty at my last round so I brought in a mori on the same group. I played Spirit with double purple add-ons and I grabbed somebody off a gen in under 20 seconds and whoosed back to the hook and killed them in under a minute. I pretty sure they had a fun game. Back to the 10 minute survivor queue you go.

You only need one hook on each survivor to mori them. You don’t have to work for a mori especially if you’re a killer that quickly ends chases.

Nobody cares about their rank. Who actually cares if you black pip when you’re already in red ranks. Even if you aren’t in red ranks, who WANTS to be at red ranks?

    Keys can turn a 4K into a 0K but a mori can turn a 0K into a 4K. That’s not very justified is it?

Alright, for sake of argument take ranks out of it. Cause you make a good point of no-one wants to be red ranks, ill admit im wrong there.

But, with the amount of pallets, second chance perks and current generator speeds (as well as map design and other factors), survivors who play optimal can loop the killer for many gens (nurse and spirit being exceptions, but still possible).

The fact that you have to hook the survivor first and then down them straight after means you have to win 2 chases not 1. and the perks that pro-long the survivor on the hook or save the survivor after a hook save make it so that it takes yet more time away from the killer.

Im not saying all games are like this obviously, a lot aren't, what im saying is if survivors play optimally then moris shoudnt be an issue. Its only an issue if survivors either dont do the objective or fail to loop the killer. The game shouldnt be balanced around survivor mistakes.

(not to mention several low-tier killers who have god-awful mobility)

    @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/903297#Comment_903297

Moris are absolutely not balanced (and not really rare at all). They are the definition of overpowered, along with keys.

It hurts both the killer and survivor in terms of ranks, but who really cares about ranks?

Hook one person, tunnel them off hook immediately and there you go, easy kill. Totally worked hard for that. If you count that as working for it, then survivors also have to work to use their keys.

Moris can also turn 0K's to 4KS very easily. What is your point with that?

With the time the survivor takes on the hook to die (and seen as there is a perk that extends this now) killers who camp and then tunnel/mori should get genrushed by the other survivors.

Killers that dont (most of them) dont have the right mobility to go back to the hook and kill the injured survivor in time before they dissapear, especially if theyve already got into another chase.

Survivors shouldnt be compensated when everything they need to beat a killer is right there. Killers only capitalise on survivor mistakes.

Just because they got nerfed once doesn't mean they are fine now

You're right. It doesn't necessarily mean that, but in this instance it does.

Moris are balanced and rarely seen, plus its actually harmful to the killer regarding rank as it hurts their emblems. Killers actually have to work to get moris now. Keys on-the-other-hand can turn a 4k into a 0k, which isn't justified at all.

  • @MyName123 said:

This is not a cry, this is a injustice, surivors dont have anymore the insta flashlights, insta heals and brand new part, and why the killer still have the mori, i´ts fact

if the killer put the ebony mori, the survivor will 100% lose or one surv can go into a hatch, seriously the mori needs to go, if the mori will be reworked, rework keys to, for the killers stop say everthing, just for the mori leave the game

survivors dont have insta flashlights, insta heal, insta brand new part.

ok, kills also no longer have insta mori... they dont need to be nerfed further

  • Clicked the wrong one, meant to vote for underpowered

  • The devs have confirmed that if the farming is concentual to both killer and survivor, then yes it is allowed. However, if the survivor doesnt want to farm and the killer forces this then the killer is liable to get banned.

  • In comparison to the games release, the killers have gotten stronger yes. But that doesn't mean killers are overpowered or even holding the power role at the moment. All it means is that survivors can't pull off the same no skill routines in loops.

The game is getting better as a whole, and hopefully will continue to go in the direction its headed.

  • No, the whole point of the perk was to be essentially a 'hard mode' for survivors. thats it

  • Survivors don't like something, so devs destroy it.

been happening since the games release. aint gonna change

  • Whenever survivors fall short on what to complain about. Theres quite alot atm so probs not for a while.

How is cleansing totems an objective, it awards boldness points

it still counts towards embelems if im not mistaken? so is surviving not an objective as it scores survival points?

its still something survivors can do and further MUST do if they want to prevent NOED rather than winge about it.

  • notice the "work in progress" at the bottom right of the screenshot. its a business, they changed their minds. at least you still have the free track

  • NOED doesnt reward the killer for playing badly, it rewards the killer for the survivosr not completing an objective

  • PGTW is an amazing perk. partner it up with a killer with strong mobility like freddy, demo or billy an youve got an S tier perk right there. its okay on clown, but like i said, its REALLY good on some of the other killers

I don’t think Stat changes would be enough, the perk is just too situational.

But surely having niche perks is a good thing? there are so many perks in the game now and so many more being added that its alright to have some niche perks, besides it helps with the "basement build" that some people enjoy so much. not every perk has to be amazing or even compete with the meta perks imo. as long as its fun or can be used differently to vary playstyle why not keep it as it is?

EDIT: or still tied to the basement hooks at least

I haven't heard about any noed nerfs, it's only been buffed with the inclusion of one hit downs at all tiers. If there was any buffs made to the perk, please let me know since I didn't hear of them.

Well originally it wasnt a hex perk. It just activated at the end of the match and there was no counterplay to it.

Then it got nerfed so it only lasted 120 seconds after the gates had been activated (still not really any counterplay)

Then it got turned into a hex perk so survivors could actually counter it now and destroy it before it even had chance to activate it.

This was done as well as reducing the movement speed bonus throughout. (i think it one point it also gave reduced time on missed attacks and this was later scrapped entirely but not too sure)

granted it got a qol update so all tiers now give the exposed status effect. but if people have borrowed time or just cleanse totems, it really doesnt do anything as a good group of survivors can counter it before it even has a chance to activate.

  • Noed is a completed balanced perk with built in counter-play, something both mettle of man and decisive didnt have, thus having those 2 perks reworked.

Noed has also only really seen nerfs since its release, not buffs.

So yeah, noed is in a good spot with a fair amount of counterplay to it.

  • Quite the contrary really. The game 'benefits' ,as you put it, survivors too much. Always has and always will.

  • I mean, for starters maybe some of the values so you actually see luck offerings more? Or interact luck with other killers i.e. Pigs reverse bear traps. Because at the moment its primarily a status effect that goes against trapper when it can be utilised in other areas.

Looting chests (i dont know why it isnt used on chests at the moment).

chance to get a skillcheck on gens or sabo

chance to make a noise or scream when injured and the killers nearby.

i dont know, just something so it isnt practically useless. and i didnt mean luck specifically i just meant older status effects as a whole. luck was just the example that came to mind. blindness, endurance and a few others could get looked at as well

  • I definitely dont think the perk needs a rework per say. it just needs some stat changes and its fine

With all due respect...we're playing videogames...we're already technically "wasting time". If a person won a trophy, a title or item and a year or so later, others can earn it...why does that bother a person? Not to mention, if others have it, whom are you to judge if that person "deserves" it or not, let alone when they got it to be judged by?

I can easily guesstimate that 90% of players outside of the first few seconds/minutes of going "cool costume" aren't going to really care what someone else is running. So your self enjoyment is either dependant on faux rarity/perceived value or for others to drool over you having something they can't....which illustrates my previous points of entitlement as the core reasoning.

EDIT: No one slurred at you mah dude, but go ahead and reach. :) I like to curse, deal with it with the forums censoring it genetically.

Alright, im just gonna stop this here i think as i dont think you understand what i mean. I dont care if other people have the exclusive item, if its a cool item and i see someone wear it in game good on them, let them wear whatever the ######### they want. The 'issue', in lack of a better word, i had with it is that people who do go after these exclusive things during times where its really hard to get them might get annoyed as "oh, i really liked this cosmetic and spent "x" amount of time or did "y" things to get it", sort of like prestige clothes, "oh look, i spent this amount of time on this killer" or in the case of exclusives "ive been playing this long or did this". and for someone to just buy it without having to do anything can be demeaning. Thats it. thats all i meant by it

and i even said to fix the issue make it so rather than have time exclusive items, which sets up this "i want exclusives" "i dont think its fair" arguments, just make it so exclusives come in the form of devotion so that way they're still exclusive, but anyone can get them.

and dont try to go philosophical with the "we're playing a video game so we're wasting time anyway". cause then you can say no matter what your doing your wasting time. the statements invalid, anyway tahts my 2 cents on the issue, if you understand what i mean great, if not that. i dont know how else i can describe it

    "Takes away the value"

No...it really doesn't. It's digital, lines of code. For example, Whether you got a Hallowed/Event costume by doing the event or buying it (which surprise, can only earn 2 free) doesn't change how YOU got it. And why would someone else wearing a cosmetic demean your own enjoyment? "Earn" stuff and only feeling proud you have something because others are arbitrarily deprived of....sends of flags to me of a person's personality....

It kinda does take away the value though. if you played the game back when flashlights were still relatively op and pushed through it to get a specific cosmetic, then a little down the line someone just buys it. kinda makes you feel like youve wasted a load of time like @SpaceCoconut mentioned. Thats just how some people feel about it myself included.

Yet i said im normally on the fence about it, because ive been on the opposite end of the spectrum where your busy with life and dont have the time to play a game all day or you dont go to a specific event irl and get a code for a cosmetic. im not MASSIVELY into exclusives, im just ever so slightly for them. personal preference is all, couldnt really care which way it goes. but i do want the devotion system to actual mean something, weather though 'exclusives' or something else

EDIT: and saying ######### like "it sends flags about someones personality", i dont know why you try to make it personal just because i disagree with you slightly, if you have a discussion do it properly without stupid slurs

  • Although i might be on the fence regarding the topic at times. Overall i think im for exclusive items, although i myself won't be able to get many as much as i was able to in the past for the david king or huntress cosmetics for example, that shouldnt restrict others who are more fortunate with their free time.

I thought getting those exclusive items was great because i felt id actually earned something. and for someone else to just buy that, despite if they were able to get it legit or not, takes away any value the cosmetic has...

though if they add a clown or Doc cosmetic and i cant get it ima be mad.

EDIT: maybe to solve this issue, make some cosmetics only available to purchase through the use of devotion? that way people who arent able to play the events are still able to get the cosmetics, its still exclusive as you have to put in a lot of time and dedication to get it, and it actual makes the devotion system useful. everyone wins!

  • These are all legit means for the killers to get kills

  • @Peanits said:

Some of the rewards will stay exclusive, others will be available in the store later on. Exclusive stuff always comes at the cost of leaving out anyone who wasn't there at the time, so we try not to do too much exclusive stuff. You'll get way more value out of earning them through The Rift than you would by buying them individually, though, and that's without even considering that you can make your cells back.

will it be possible for you guys to explicitely say "this item is exclusive for the rift" so if people want it they can aim to get it, rather than think "oh i didnt manage to get it in the rift, im sure ill be able to buy it later on", only to find out that it isnt possible to do so?

    if that makes sense

  • Dude if u want him to be gay just think that he is, you dont need to change the lore. who cares about the lore, it dm. (also i could be wrong but i think the rose is based loosely on the Rugby english rose symbol as david king is into rugby, dont quote me on it tho)

Well you can't accept a 10 minutes 1v1 in kyf. No problem, it's always like that. Some people are barking loud and throw assumptions into the room without seeing a single gameplay. And once you challenge them for a 1v1 they avoid it.

    Cheers.

Say what you want mate, but talking to people like that who are just trying to give you advice is kind of a scummy thing to do in my opinion. But ill leave it as it is as i can see you don't want a discussion of any kind, and would rather challenge anyone who disagrees with you,

Wanna do a 1v1? Just to proof a point. Ofc I will record and upload it

I mean, im at uni atm and cant play on a laptop, so no. But if you feel like your ego is damaged ill openly say your probably better than me, i dont play much anymore.

I can just see from your responses that you seem to be struggling at evading the killer etc. try to run the new fixated perk from nancy, it might help you. Not trying to say anything offensive, just trying to help you out.

You have absolutly no right to tell I'm bad at juking. I'm playing this game since release and nearly have 3k hours with a tryhard mentality as survivor and as killer. I have more experience than the majority of this Community. Also you never saw a single gameplay of me, coming to the conclusion of my skill based on a text is quite ignorant of you.

But hey, you seem very confident with your juking skills, so do you want to do 1v1 in kyf and show me your skills? I'm quite sure it's not gonna work.

But considering the fact that you can't seem to juke killers with the aid of pallets, it DOES lead to the assumption that you arent a great survivor. Hours don't really mean anything if you do the same thing over and over again. try to adapt? cant say much else

  • this is good, just get better at juking as survivor, youll get the hang of it eventually

  • also make it so snapping out of it is considered a healing action again.

  • they are swing overable, but if the survivor has any sense they just move out of range. the fences still need to be looked at.

  • no, moris have already been nerfed into a position where they help the killer quite a bit without being OP, and without having so many limitations they're almost useless. they're in a good spot, leave them alone ;)

  • Here here. Its ridiculous honestly that its gone this long without being adressed. Having ranked rewards is something BOTH killers and survivors want. i really can't see the problematic reason as to why nothing has been introduced yet?
