  • It's not really broken. There is validation on hatchets. This game just sucks on you see different things.

But it's possible to hear hit and get validated as Huntress. So it works for both sides.

  • He is clumsy, worse, less fun, less unique, more limited Huntress.

I have played him a lot. I have played him 100% for his quick-scope, because it was fun thing to do.

I don't think quick-scope was ever an issue. Faking ADS was an issue and that should be only thing removed.

His ADS mechanic feels terrible to use. Survivors can react to your shooting, which is really bad with your small projectile.

If they don't want him to quick-scope, they have to fix his ADS mechanic -> higher sensitivity and make his projectile faster -> make him hit-scan. So survivors will know you are going to shoot, but they are not going to have that big option to dodge and it will actually be based on your aim, not luck.

Why was quick-scope issue, he is more limited than other ranges killers, so why not give him something they don't have? He has limited range, he doesn't have guaranteed hits, he can't down over pallet and far windows, he has to reload after each shot, he is more punished for missing, his time to down is bigger than Huntress / Trickster.

  • @White_Owl said:

Nope. He plays almost exactly as he played before.

Damn, you clearly didn't play him and still don't play him...

  • Nope, still on break. I tried to get back to it with Artist, but still not interested.

I play sometimes SWF if my team needs last guy, but I wouldn't call it fun.

And killers are just stressful AF for me.

I will maybe get back with Legion changes, depends on how that will end.

  • You need to think about other boons.

This would be fine for CoH, but super hard nerf for any other boon.

CoH is fine alone, but you can't really say that about any other boon.

CoH should not be treated as boon issue. It's CoH issue, so nerfs should be only for CoH.

I never thought old undying itself was issue, aura reading was problem, if they removed just that, then it would be fine.

    I love numbers <3

I wanted to do something like that but I saw way too many DCs, deaths on the first hook, and suicides during the week the game was free on Epic. The matches were awfully weird too :/

Yeah, It's kinda amazing he did that.

I would kinda want to see killer version, where there is only 1 killer played (MMR reason). Not really S tier, but not D tier neither. Nemesis would be interesting too see, he is nice middle ground imo.

I would kill myself before reaching 100 games tho....

  • Hag and Myers are kinda hard for soloQ.

Myers: you have survivors that are going to feed his power. I have played with survivors that just wanted to suck Daddy Myers, so I just had to play like it's a loss from start and meme with them....

Hag is even worse when you don't have a friend to call out traps. Hag is not really an issue for SWF, when you have 1-2 good loopers that just follow her and trigger all her traps.

  • Deathslinger 9 8 escapes 1 death

It's not nice to bully old man....

And where the hell did you find so many Slingers :D

    Otherwise gj

as someone how plays both Survivor and Killer, I dont blame killers for camping and tunneling but when you bring Ruin/Undying and sometimes with Pop only to have your totems broken within 2min of the game and for that reason you start camping thats where my issue resides. That is half of the killers who are doing that recently.

Killers dont need to stack gen slow downs to have fun, I main spirit with Corrupt/Deadlock/Grim/thrilling as a build Corrupt being the real only slow down i still have fun and still 3-4k no ruin pop.

This is one of the most slowdown builds I have ever seen.

Each of your perks blocks gen. How is that not a slow-down stacking?

Corrupt + Deadlock is really strong combination for lazy killers who doesn't like to care about gens. It's used a lot in tournaments, but that because of how fast those games are there.

  • @dictep said:

What can survs can do to get 4 escapes if you have 8 hooks and no gens done yet? But killers can facecamp to get at least 2 kills. And you want survs to thank you because you can facecamp them?

You compare late game vs early game.

If you got 8 hooks and 0 gens done, you played that terribly and you deserve to die.

If you want compare same thing then you would have to compare 1 hook and all gens done. Then what can killer do? Try to face-camp and get extra kill, but unless you are bubba, or Trickster, you will not get it against decent squad.

Not really thank, but why cry and group on killer with your friends just because some of you died?

  • If they try to win, we can try to win. What's wrong about that?

He is not really angry about how they played, just their response.

They said they want to "make perks feel more permanent with prestige" so I am thinking something like perks will stay even if you prestige character or something like that.

So actually screwing over veterans and making it easier for new players to prestige for whatever reason

Noone gives a ######### about prestige.

Main issue is actually getting perks and level each survivor / killer.

It's actually worse for killers than survivors...

Prestige is useless and if they do this it's not going to fix anything. Just make it worse.

  • I do this often.

    Both, ignoring and teaming-up.

If that survivor made me laugh, I am just not going to kill him. If that survivor donated an item to me, I am not going to kill him. If that survivor booped the snoot, I can't kill him. Those are rules...

Teaming-up is usually when there are two survivors left and I really want to kill that second survivor. So I just down first survivor so he can see where is that other survivor and I will try to make him show me where he is. Hatch is reward for it... Snitches get hatches.

Yeah, and that time you played fair and in a fun way they start to tbag and flashlight macro you whe you lose/win, and you wish you just facecamped everyone no mercy since the beginning

I hate those. I am always so pissed when this happens...

    Maybe it'll be something like:

    P0 = standard points

    P1 = 30% more points

    P2 = 40% more points

    P3 = 50% more points

    ?

No idea, but did did say the fix to the grind will be connected to the prestige system

I will be so pissed if they do this.

We don't need to help veteran players with grind, we need to help new players for #########'s sake.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

The player makes the grind larger on their own. It’s the players choice to unlock more and more teachables. Often this leads to players unlocking so many teachables early that it makes beginning the prestige process when it’s easiest less and less feasible.

You, the player, made the grind what it is for yourself.

That's so dumb it hurts my eyes....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2715823#Comment_2715823

in a way yes in a way no in alot of games if 3 gens pop before you end the second chase or so then i would say you played bad but if you spawn in red forest and all of them spawn on different gens and it takes you 40 seconds to find someone and then 20-30 to down them and then 10-15 to hook them its not so much your fault as much as it is the bad map design/ spawn rng

if you can down them in 30 seconds they are really bad... Depends on killer of course and map.

Unless they are inside deazone, chase should not be under 40 seconds, just hold W will give you 20 seconds.

  • @dugman said:

Why limit it to Scourge Hooks? Hypothetically say you had a perk that just said “Destroyed hooks come back 100% faster than normal and take 100% longer to sabotage and give a noise alert when sabotaged”. I doubt that would be overpowered, would do the same thing you’re asking for, but would also have an effects even on its own without using Scourge Hooks.

It would be kinda lightborn level. Just something to screw survivors when you see stacked items.

  • He is clumsy, worse, less fun, less unique, more limited Huntress.

If you are masochist, then yeah you are going to enjoy him... Well, you have Twins profile picture, so you probably are a masochist, so it makes sense that you like him.

His ADS mechanic is just terrible, it wasn't an issue before, because quick-scope, so noone actually used ADS... Low turning speed, small FOV, it's terrible to use on close range and because of long ADS + travel time, it sucks to use on longer range too against survivors who are looking behind them.

Even a Trickster is more fun and better killer than Deathslinger, which is kinda funny to me... You know, Trickster!

Deathslinger had few things going for him, but they got removed. Only thing going for him left is STBFL and m1 perks, which is not that huge reason to play him imo.

I play FPS games a lot, so I played him 100% to do quick-scopes and he is just nothing without it.

  • Only killer where it should be normal is Oni....

If you are not some snowball killer like Oni / Plague, then 3 gens popping before first hook is just terrible.

Doctor / Wraith / just most m1 killers are screwed and survivors have to ######### up a lot.

Killers that counter to some extent:

    • Cenobite
    • Artist
    • Hag
    • Huntress
    • Billy
    • Bubba
    • Demogorgon
    • Nurse
    • Blight
    • Trickster
    • Slinger
    • Probably at least 1 I'm forgetting.

Honestly, I'm way more scared of someone that knows how to loop or abuse structures than a 'hold W' type.

It's also the ones that can do both that really give me hell.

Yeah, worst is the type that can hold W as long he can, then loop you for ages too.

    But thing is:

everyone can hold W and waste enough time, it's just easy.

It's not that easy to actually loop killer for a long time and you also waste pallets faster.

  • Hmm,

Huntress is definetly number 1 for me.

She is only killer that I see really often...

  • Your hook safe area would be terrible for her. You just made it too big. 10 meters is a lot. Like really a lot.

It should be 4 meters max (same as PH).

And you really think that flashlights take longer is equal change?

  • @dweetboi said:

CoH is a massive problem in itself and its busted beyond belief and it shouldnt dictate everything else in the game.

    It does now...

Killer is just not strong, when his playstyle is countered by a meta perk.

That's why I didn't understand wraith nerf in same patch as CoH. They just suck at theory crafting and testing, I guess...

  • It's more stressful for sure (SBMM). More frustrating too (Validation, undeserved nerfs).

More boring a little, but that's because I really enjoyed hit&run, which is useless against CoH...

  • You have no idea how much this would nerf her... She wouldn't be able to use traps in basement for example, which is her main thing.

And you would just force her to first place traps, then hook. You wouldn't stop it, just make it annoying to play.

We had changes like that before and it was never good idea and usually killed the killer. Billy, Twins, Freddy, Deathslinger...

Hag got actually worse, because she really doesn't like CoH. I mean, how often do you see Hag?

I don't really mind her, but it's because I play SWF only, so we have me and my friend after her to trigger her traps nonstop.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2715174#Comment_2715174

Absolutely. I find that stressful and annoying, but not...boring.

When I get tired of it, I generally switch over to Hag, Artist, Cenobite (sorta) or Demogorgon who absolutely rock people who try this.

I can agree with you on this one.

I wouldn't say boring. But it is way more stressful and sometimes frustrating when validated multiple times.

I often ask myself if it is worth it. My answer is usually no...

You know how some people have selective hearing

Yeah well I think you got selective reading

Funny is, I remember only one good slinger main and that was Anaxandra, but she stopped playing with Deathslinger nerf...

I would rather see camping as a reportable offense and people start getting banned for it. That would stop it from happening in a heart beat. It should be considered as disrupting normal game play. Its not enough to just have in game mechanics to discourage it. This is the most toxic and unfair thing a killer can do to a survivor and it needs to stop yesterday.

    Are you dumb or yes?

So you think it's fine that they can hear you coming from twice as far as you can shoot?

Some of these replys leave me questioning how many people that are replying actually play him a lot or are just talking like they do

He used to be my main, probably around 300 hours just on him.

I don't agree with: "We all agree the quick aim needed to go"

Higher TR wasn't needed neither, just 24m lullaby so you can't reduce it, would fix it imo.

ADS faking was only issue I saw with him and they failed to fix that anyway.

He is clumsy, worse, less fun, less unique, more limited Huntress....

I played him mainly for quick-scope, because it was fun to do and super satisfying to get long range shots with it. He is just not fun to play for me anymore.

If they want to fix him, they have to change whole ADS mechanic, because it's terrible and probably give him secondary power, so he is different from other ranged killers and it should justify his limitations.

  • @Veinslay said:

Razblaze is too funny in this thread, complaining that the guy he's arguing with doesn't care about the survivors fun. You're a regular ScottJund "killer main"

I've never once heard a survivor main express concern about the killer's fun in this game nor have I ever had a survivor try to make the game more fun for me but the killer is expected to cater to the survivor's fun.

Well, he is just a massive hypocrit... Nothing new.

  • @Rezblaze said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2714731#Comment_2714731

    1) Seeing where he shoots doesn't matter when you have no time to react to it. The only way to react more is if you have distance, and even then its iffy.

    2) Congratulations. Huntress hatches have windup times and travel times. So does Trickster. Trickster even has spread. Literally every ranged killer has to take this into account, but for some reason, as a Slinger main, you think you're the exception to this?

    3) No, its not a prediction game. Its a guessing game. Just like Spirit phasing, you have no idea if he is going to shoot or zone. There is literally no way to tell. If you run in a straight line, he can literally just shoot you unless you're in a position where he can't profit from such a shot. If you dodge and weave, sure he zones you, but that gives him less options than just shooting you. Good survivors can wait it out and bait a shot before dodging. That's what makes a survivor good, y'know, the other ######### half of the playerbase, they exist too? Again, this is not unique to Deathslinger, this is a feature for every ranged killer; they can zone people out and fake a throw. Exception is probably Artist.

You wonder why nobody wants to give you a peer review study to 'prove' something to you; you've already convinced yourself that you're right.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IHA5LOGFMPK2/image.png

Yes, he should be the exception to this.

He has limits that those killers don't. Limited range? Can't down over pallets? Can't down over long loops? Now we have normal TR. Small projectile (basically trickster, but DS is way more punished)?

He has limitations Huntress / Trickster don't have, so why he can't be exception to something they are limited by?

  • @LoneSlinger said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2714647#Comment_2714647

We all agree the quick aim needed to go but the tr nerf was totally unnecessary and didn't need to happen

Did you know he is the only 4.4 killer with a 32 meter tr

    Hag moves at 4.4 has a 24tr

    Trickster moves at 4.4 has a 24tr

Huntress moves at 4.4 has a lullaby

    I don't agree with that.

Aim fake had to go, because it was cheap tactic for free hit, but quick-scope was fine and mainly it was reason why most people played Deathslinger.

  • @Vampwire said:

I have played the game for 4 years now. And even when I think "aghh this game sucks!" I still come back to it. I think a lot of veteran players have experienced this in a way. Usually the solution is to take a break. And it works after so long. I have come back from my break and I realized something. The reason why I didn't enjoy DBD anymore was because I took it too seriously. I have played a couple of matches today, losing the majority of them, but I didn't care. I actually had fun. I had fun using stupid builds and even found a surprising handful of times I could actually use my bad perks.

I've always hated confining myself to the meta, but I also wanted to win. And trying to actually win without meta perks was really hard. So I found myself frustrated with many things in the game. I wanted variety in my matches but it felt like I was handicapping myself to do so. The meta makes the game easier but it also turns it into a very rinse and repeat playstyle. When there's like 5 pages of perks on each side and everyone only uses about 16 interchangeably of course it's boring. There's no variety.

And that's where you need to help yourself. Step outside of your comfort zone and just enjoy yourself. Don't let the BM get to your head. Don't worry about making mistakes. Just let go and enjoy the game. With how buggy and imbalanced this game is, you have to embrace it. Embrace how chaotic the game is and just laugh at it.

If we could do this as a community I'm sure it would be better for everyone.

Well, that works unless you were Deathslinger main... RIP us

I used to have fun before, but validation just can easily ruin the game.

Undeserved nerfs, CoH, SBMM just didn't help neither.

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2707835#Comment_2707835

Of course not. Other killers can't do this, and if you try to go for chases with Leatherface you will lose, you gotta play campy at some point during the match

Yeah, it's just impossible to get everyone to deadhook first against decent squad.

So best you can do is either lose, or learn when is best moment to get someone out of the game, so it's still fair for both sides...

It's just boring to tunnel from first hook, so I usually want to give them a chance, but it often backfires :D

  • @BaconyToast said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/301296/i-hate-validation-so-much

That's why I advocate to entirely revert the deadhard "validation". SURVIVOR lags and gets rewarded, as long as the Survivor pressed E and would've been downed- they don't and get more invulnerability than the perk normally would've given in addition to the Killer's normal lunge being stopped prematurely resulting in even more stun time. Old Deadhard was fine, it's the servers that need fixing.

    It's quite a good point.

Validation will stop my lunge, but if it actually worked (survivor just dead hard), then I would often be able to track survivor with my lunge and down him at the end of Dead Hard. That works when DH is not used for distance, but survivor tries to go through me etc.

  • @selflessnea said:

    That ping though

Yeah, my point is: I don't have high ping, so why the hell should I get validated for it...

  • @dugman said:

Everybody saying “just bait Dead Hard” is only partially right. Yes, you can try and fake a swing bait it out, but ultimately the survivor does in principle have the ability now to react to an actual swing in time to Dead Hard it 100% of the time. The ability to react to a swing to make it miss is quite powerful.

Problem is that you don't always have option to bait DH, you just have to swing sooner or later.

Then you also have pallet validation, that is not an option at all, unless you want to respect everything.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2710587#Comment_2710587

That’s actually a good point about the movement slowdown on a revoked hit. Technically the killer’s slowdown should also be revoked or at a minimum cancelled if the hit is cancelled.

I have always seen only "missed" animation after validation. Never the longer one for succesful hit.

Thing is that it is just super frustrating to lose the game when I got validated multiple times, where I got those hits on my screen and I have really low ping, so I am basically punished for survivor's internet.

I have used DH a lot before validation and I never really cared about being exhausted on ground, I knew that how this perks work, I chose to use it, because it was still really good perk and I knew that I can get away with it even when it fails. But that is just not an option to killer, I didn't chose that perk, they did. I can easily lose the game, because one chase took 20 seconds longer than it was supposed to. It just sucks.

And I have yet to see validation as survivor, so far it was always as a killer. But it should be possible to see as a survivor based on their explanation. Maybe it's just BS and they just shifted the issue to killers.

  • We are usually missing one player with my group.

After mmr I would say maybe 30? With a lot of intense and sweaty matches filled with camping and slugging when playing vs swfs

It was probably done before SBMM...

Bc it was consistent to create distance and on-demand. To use Lithe optimally you need to delay vaulting, which limited looping option. It's impossible to activate BL in certain maps (i.e. Shelter Woods), making the perk useless. SB on the other hand was the only one that came close to compete but it requires a lot of experience to use optimally. In fact, SB has way more skill expression than DH but due to its activation, it's easily wasted.

    So yeah, that sounds fair...

I didn't get validated DH, not even once as a survivor, but it's just normal for me as a killer.
