Can anyone explain why this is perk should be in the game? Now 3 games in a row (solo play) where I work my butt off, make great plays, saves, runs, get the gens done, only to be one hit with NOED at the end and left to die by my solo teammates. All this perk does is reward the killer with cheap kills at endgame. Its a perk that admits defeat in not being able to prevent the gens from completion before the game is started. It's a perk that, at its worst, I have seen turn a 0k into a 4k. It lets weak killers take out great survivors - flat out end their game and prevent escape - because its one hit at the end of the game with little chance of being saved.

I know the arguments... "do all the totems" or "Play an swf". Neither of those are realistic every game. Many of us have to do a lot of soloing and if I spend all game finding all 5 totems (even with small game) its detrimental to the team and my score and my game experience frankly. This shouldn't be a find the 5 totems game. It should be a do a bit of everything game.

The point is its a cheap garbage perk that should not be in the game. It's ill conceived trash that needs to go.

NOED is just annoying, its balanced otherwise.

Unique perk, as if you are a survivor you can play around it and disable it, however you might also go down to it which is annoying.

Just as a survivor however, a killer using it wastes a perk slot until end game, and it might not even help him.

So really I think NOED is just annoying.

Active traps can still be disarmed, inactive traps can no longer be sabotaged. It's the reason they changed Saboteur's icon to a broken hook, because it no longer affects traps. I think Slippery Meat got a similar treatment in this last patch for the same reason.

    Hmm, ok.

It is very relevant that it's single player. It easy to listen to the community when they all agree on something.

What I'm saying that most the community has zero clue about what changes help the game.

Ofcourse there are changes they make the game better. I would say that almost every change the devs made made the game better. Even if i don't agree with them.

I wouldn't want to play any version of the game but the latest one

No it isn't, we aren't comparing gameplay.

Its simple, he said the devs added something that was similar to what people wanted in another game, and it went well.

That's all you were to take from this, its NOT about Minecraft, where only if it was would that argument of Minecraft being mentioned actually hold, no.

Its clear he said it to make the point "If devs took community ideas and refurbished them, I think it would be best.

Also literally no community with a massive fan base all agree on something.

Killer: bamboozle, because it's the "I can't mindgame shack, but I have a perk to do that for me" perk. I just find it annoying.

Survivor: Self care, because every self care user lets me die on hook so they can heal themselves.

To be fair though there are major loops that take forever without bamboozle to complete.

    Like tree circle.

Inb4 all the NOED, DS, BT etc comments. No. Nobody likes you.

As the title says, what perk makes you cringe, weep, or cry when you see your fellow Survivors or Killers using?

For me, as a Survivor, it's Spine Chill. As soon as it lights up, they just stop what they're doing and move, usually off a gen or a heal. This alone unnecessarily makes the action take longer than it needs to when the killer isn't actually coming after us. ALSO, since it makes skill checks 10% more likely to appear, they usually move right as they get one, and thus FAIL IT, and alert the killer to where we both are, when they normally wouldn't have known.

That happens a LOT. Not even kidding.

As for Killer, I's go with Unrelenting. The people who use it keep missing attacks, but not because of 360s or anything; they attack too early, and thus aren't close enough to hit. So they could replace Unrelenting with walking forward for an extra half a second. Literally.

It makes me want to cry.

But what about you? Got any pet peeve perks you hate seeing fellow Surv/Killers running?

Remember to be civil and respectful in your complaints. The Law is watching.

OoO, No Mither, and self care

Minecraft is a single player game were any given change isn't opposed. Nobody said "God, Screw minecraft i hate these lava boats"

DbD is a multiplayer game where every chance has an impact for the opposing side. Making it easier for one side usually make it harder for another. You can't make any meaningfull change without someone being against.

I also find some of the decisions questonable but I can't deny the game has only improved over the years so what do I know?

That is irrelevant if its single player or not, his point is pretty clear.

Also the second thing is wrong, objectively there are going to be changes that help the game.

Sure some people with subjectively think worse about changes, however typically its not something to mind, someone tried to say cross platform hurts the game for example. No one will all decide on one thing, however that is why it is the majority over the minority.

Ah, another Trapper topic, let me list my Trapper buff ideas again:

    1. Traps spawn 30m away from map edge.
    2. Trapper start with 1 trap, able to carry 2
    3. Disarming spawn a skill check, affected by Unnerving presence, fail skill check cause trapped.
    4. When trapped, Survivors have to success 3 skill check (or 2 in a row) to escape. Or 5 skill check (or 3 in a row) with Greenstone. A skill check spawn every 3sec. Skill check zone affected by Unnerving presence.
    5. New ability: Deep trap. Hold M2 to setup trap. Keep holding for another 3sec will make the trap goes deep into the ground (can only see the claw). Only work on grass terrain/area

I think this would not really do anything other then make him annoying to vs.

If your talking about balance! The game would probably die for the newer players!

Blizzard decided to listen to their Overwatch League player's to bring balance to the game! While at the top ranks the game was balanced, it was way unbalanced for the casual player's!

While somethings need to be addressed about the balance of the game, for example DS and NOED

I like how you actually gave a reason why you think that and didn't just make an assertion. I see the logic in your thinking.

Correct but its as said previously, is still relevant to the conversation I do think as the idea correlates.

lets assume I let you keep that point, I still think constantly mentioning me is more damaging to the overall conversation as I only posted one comment and haven't gone looking back at this thread. However with you guys constantly mentioning me I have had to constantly reply and this is just fueling more off topic debate .

Id argue that you guys mentioning me is more damaging to the conversation, not to mention people liked my comment more then the post so clearly I made a relevant point.

Do you need me to break down my original post into bullet points for you?

Here's a list of reasons (that I went over in my original post) why cross-play isn't good for everyone:

    • No text chat between players that aren't on the same platform (before or after a match)
    • Survivor queue times are longer
    • Pre-existing communities have been divided (some player opted in while others opted out)
    • Survivors that opt out of cross-play have a smaller pool of players to be matched with
    • Players that opt out of cross-play experience longer queue times
    • New friendships aren't being built because of the lack of cross-platform communication options

Much better, I saw these things previous but all of these things are not really issues although I will address them one at a time.

For bullet point 1, 6 my argument is that the fact you can even play together is enough, although this as well is false, you can just tell them to add you after the game. Even if you lost them, they are randoms that you otherwise would of never met in the first place.

For bullet point 2, this is false, the reason why the ques are longer as a surv is due to unbalancing. even this event basically is a good example as they just released an item addon that increases movement speed by 20 seconds for survivor all the while the only thing the killers get is basically the blights power for any killer you use it with that conflicts with the killers main power. So blame balancing for this reason.

For bullet point 3 you'd have to give examples of this as I think this to be false but am not sure

For bullet point 4, 5 thats actually possible and is one of the only things on this list that is actually problematic, however controller on specifically the survivors side on this game really is actually arguably better as it is much easier to 360 and for this reason there is no real reason to turn cross play off.

Anyways, your question was: "If it hurts the game so bad tell me how, not only that why are you one of the only people to complain about it?"

My original post lists a few reasons why cross-play didn't have a good outcome for everyone. (My original post explains the how portion of your question.)

My last response answered the why portion of your question. ("I don't know if I'm the only person to complain about cross-play. That's why I made this post. I wanted to have a discussion and find out.")

  • @JephKaplan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/200308/cross-play-everything-we-hoped-for

I never wanted crossplay for the exact same reason i keep it disabled now, console players are just bad, no other way to say they are not at the same lvl as pc players (obvious reasons). I can't be getting chased for 3 mins with 1 gen done at red ranks and then get one hooked cuz 2 of my 3 teammates are crouching in the corners of the map. The first game i had with crossplay i had 2 console players on lery's against a michael, i got chased for 2 gens then he lost me so i healed up and did 1 gen on my own then the other pc player gets downed so i go save them still no gens being done, fast forward me and the other pc dude do all the gens left i get hit with noed it gets taken out almost instantly after the other pc player gets hooked again and the 2 console guys are just t bagging at the exit game meanwhile michael wasn't even near me or the other person and he certainly wasn't near the exit gate since they'd be forced out. When i play killer crossplay just makes it so easy to get early kills its insane

only game where controller is better as a surv due to ez 360's.

That was the only real claim you have said, I call bs on that other claim as its not true.

Our one-on-one discussion hasn't been very constructive so far, but then you asked a question. Now, it can be constructive. Whether my reasons for leaving feedback are good or not is an opinion.

I'm not sure how you've determined that my feedback is, in fact, bs.

fact (noun) a piece of information presented as having objective reality

opinion (noun) a judgment formed in the mind about a particular matter

I can prove to you that a forum is a place for feedback by providing you with a piece of information. It's a screen shot of this forum.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AE9LHDI5W1RO/feedback.jpg

Now, to answer your question, I don't know if I'm the only person to complain about cross-play. That's why I made this post. I wanted to have a discussion and find out. I could have made the same post under Feedback, but I wanted to have a discussion. In my experience, forum moderators don't like when duplicate posts exist.

What the actual hell are you talking about.

Answer my question then, you just stated stuff I already knew, and stop trying to argue semantics.

If you are going to just continue to argue semantics then I will just not talk to you.

Simple question: How is match-making a bad thing for this game.

If you are not going to answer the question, don't bother replying as I will just ignore you.

That wasn't your point though? Your point was that nobody's been banned- me infering this as not having been permanently or temporarily banned- and I said they have, and it's surprisingly common for people to do so. After a weeks ban though, they usually start to understand that calling people homophobic and racist slurs is a no-no.

No my point is- actually im not repeating myself.

We can agree to disagree, I am not longer interested in the topic.

I've played virtually 100% killer for the last year, and just started getting back into (solo) survivor.

I simply can't believe how relaxing it is. If I escape, I feel great every single time. If I don't, I can blame my teammates. Any time I escape the killer, or can lead them on a semi-long chase, I feel like I've accomplished something. To clarify, I am a TERRIBLE survivor and still get caught often, but I can still smile afterward if I did even one small thing right.

As a killer, I'm constantly filled with rage (even on 4Ks). There is constant stress and a constant ticking clock as gens blow left and right. All mistakes are 100% my fault, and I'm trolled again and again by god loopers.

The last few days have been like a tropical vacation after a grim, thankless killer workload. Killer mains, I highly recommend this as restorative therapy if you are in the same position as me.

Well duh, this game is imbalanced and favors survs.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1701138#Comment_1701138

Yes, that's the reason. The only bans that show up on profiles (on Steam, at least) regardless of the game are permanent bans, and those never show a reason for them either. You literally cannot know when someone is temporarily banned nor why unless they tell you.

Which I no one has, I digress I'm not interested in this topic anymore.

    We can agree to disagree.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1701131#Comment_1701131

And I'm saying you can't see temporary bans at all, so whether you've seen one for this or not is irrelevant because you can't see any to begin with.

Oh I see, its just I have not seen anyone banned and claim this is the reason for it being so. So thats the reason.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Provided you report the chat offence, and it breaks the EULA, they get punished. What's so hard to understand about that?

Nothing is hard to understand about that, its just if they were so common then most people would be banned because everyone at some point was being rude and screaming at the killer or survs about how much better they are for whatever reason.

Its like trying to kill a swarm of roachs with your shoe, you can only kill so many at a time.

  • @Orion said:

Temporary bans don't show up on people's profiles, so how would you know the difference?

As said before, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BAN IN GAME FOR THIS REASON.

Now I am getting annoyed at people not reading my comments, so for this thread I will no longer be repeating myself.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1701044#Comment_1701044

While I certainly agree with you in principle.

What I see constantly applied in game is massive amounts of tunneling.

I agree it should be a bad strategy to use from 5 gens on, unfortunately unless you SWF it usually works out for the killer.

I have no problem with tunneling as a tactic, swing momentum type of tunneling. My displeasure is when a killer uses it as their main strategy and not a tactic within their overall strategy.

I mean if its working then the killer will keep doing it vs you when they realize you are a easy pick.

Just pay attention and realize how you lost the chase and learn from it and you will eventually be able to loop at least to a basis degree where you can waste at least a gen in time.

As said before though if you are being tunneled you are the only one really playing the game as chase is the game really.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1701104#Comment_1701104

Because if these forums are to be believed absolutely nobody recieves any punishment at all by the devs. My friend @hahadrillgobrrr managed to get banned for a week through communication bans, and almost hit a permanent one because of his anger issues. It's common, provided it's reported.

I strongly disagree, I think you are lying at this rate.

I believe its much more likely he got banned for cheating to some level.

Lets assume I grant you your point however, in that case I still think this is not normal at all as I have never seen anyone banned for this and said previously because its super common. You would have to do something serious in ways of verbal abuse.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1701086#Comment_1701086

The communications abuse is actually surprisingly common, it just doesn't result in a permanent insta-ban.

Why would that be surprising at all?

Only thing I am surprised about is companies like this one pretending that anyone cares about what they think is offensive or not.

Either or, the only place I know you can receive any ban for this stuff would be the discord or forums and even then I have never seen in game bans for this and I really doubt its common to get banned for this at all.

  • Its a fact that first part yes, the problem is none of this is constructive if anything this is the only one thing that was done right by the devs that you are whining about for no good reason.

Sure I am being critical, because as said previously this is bs, that is not my opinion that is a fact as well since we can assert what is and isn't fact.

Imagine actually thinking crossplay hurts the game, if it hurts the game so bad tell me how, not only that why are you one of the only people to complain about it?

no its just its not fair to give "feedback" that frankly is dumb asf, and is not an issue.

It’s not about ‘getting good at the game’ 🤦🏻‍♂️

Are you telling me you never get downed? Because I find that extremely hard to believe. Sometimes the hit boxes are ridiculous on this game and you can be hit from a mile away, so how exactly am I to avoid that from happening when on my screen I’m not near the killer?

I also never said in the OP that I was being tunnelled. But if it happens to my team it still affects me because I can’t do every generator by myself, can I? Having an Obsession definitely reduces the chances of this happening as most killers nowadays will slug and that at least gives you a chance to pick your teammate back up.

An Obsession shouldn’t have this much control over how a match plays out. It’s extremely flawed.

Oh it is about getting good at the game entirely.

No, I do get down but it takes at least one gen to down me typically because this game is not balanced well and on top of that I have been playing for a while so I know loops very well.If you don't believe me then thats a personal problem because if we can simply invalidate the others position by states "Nah you didn't do that" then conversation is futile as I could just do the same thing.

I think you are talking about lag, where you seemingly get hit across the map, in this situation you can't do anything, although I never said you could and nor did I speak upon it so I don't know why you are talking about it.

Either or, what I said still applies if you are or aren't being tunneled.

This is a strawman, I never said you could do every gen by yourself. Obsession literally doesn't affect the game in any way other then you knowing when they are in chase and that they or the killer has a Ob perk, so its silly you think a ob has any unfair control.

Its just a special label and nothing more.

Why is it, that the actual issues in the game are ignored by players like you, and then you talk about some bs that has nothing to do with the issues.

😞 did someone with 105 posts here just call someone with 18x as many posts here a newb? 😅

Incorrect, I gave a formulated reply in which I asked if he was new.

At that assume it was true, posts do not dictate skill level so either way you have it your implications are silly.

But not everyone has the skills to loop the killer for a long time.

I agree, the counter to tunneling is strong looping. But if you are not a strong looper, then your game is over.

Had a GF straight tunnel my lady last night. She DS him, still tunneling, I took a hit, still chased her, another teammate took a hit, still chased her, I healed and took another hit, guess what he did?

If the killer is a straight tunneler, they dont give a #########. Luckily she had a couple good runs and we pounded gens and got doors open.

I am not telling people how to play, but tunneling is the meta killer gameplay right now.

Firstly correct no everyone does, thats why you got to practice. Its not to hard when you play for a while and understand loops.

secondly, no tunneling is not meta at all as it as said previously lets gens be done and breaks pressure.

It only works in certain situations, and at that is typically only done when the killer is scared of losing and needs to kill a survivor quickly.

Feels like they don't do anything?

Depends on what you did, I imagine they don't just go around banning people for saying "GGEZ" because not only is that not surious but because I don't think there would be a player base for DBD anymore.

Cheating however is a different story as they ban for that.

The majority of the player base is not present on the forums. Therefore nothing will happen since every single topic will have to be disregarded as per your rules.

But if we ignore that, the game will be dead 100%.

Regardless if the forums doesn't have or does have the majority of the playerbase, I say only the majority in general as in everything combined.

  • The chance is the networking code really, I think its gunna stay the same just more consistent.

Cross-Play seemed like a great way to bring the community together and forge new friendships, right? (Well... maybe we were wrong.) Players on different platforms can't even communicate with each other beyond invitational pop ups. (Accept my invite, *****! Oops. I mean... accept my Friend Request, *****!)

Survivor queue times are noticeably longer because the ratio of survivors to killers is even worse on other platforms. (Survivors are the majority by design.)

Pre-existing communities have actually been divided many times over.

We can't forget about those groups of people that chose to opt out of cross-play. Those players are now forced to either opt in to cross-play (drink the Kool-Aid) or play with a smaller pool of players than ever before (because players from their pre-existing pool drank the Kool-Aid). It should go without saying, but those opt out groups experience queue times that are extremely long by comparison.

Can cross-play boost the growth of a community where there is no player communication?

Is this arranged marriage between most platforms, when they can't even communicate with each other, truly kindling the bonds of new fellowship?

At worst, the communities that existed before cross-play have been DIVIDED.

At best, people that were ALREADY FRIENDS, but PLAYED on a DIFFERENT PLATFORM... can PLAY the game together.

Actually this is something that is not fair to complain about.

Cross play simply being in the game is very nice, and at that the devs were not pressured into it really, it works good as well in my experience.

How many of you find the bloodweb tedious grind to go through? Those who prestige their characters and have to do it three times for each character in the game, every single time you mindlessly purchase those bloodweb items and you don't even really care what items or perks you pick first for each level because you know you are just gonna prestige the character at lvl 50 anyway. You end up doing this process over and over again, manually purchasing each individual item on the bloodweb, it's tedious right?

I have asked BHVR before to implement a simple button that would instantly use all your bloodpoints to a specific character's bloodweb so you don't have to do the tedious manual labor of purchasing each individual item on the bloodweb just to climb that prestige ladder for each and every character in the game. However, thus far, I don't see any echo from their side, but would you personally be interested of such feature?

    I don't think, I know.

It doesn't bother me too much as there are few other things to work for in terms of progression.

However, when they do think like make discordance tiers just to do increase the grind, I do think it makes it artificial and annoying and no longer does my statement above apply.
