Please just let us have a good event this year you have a few more weeks to fix it BHVR just don't ruin this event and just let us have the event currency, of all the things you guys have going down hill with the most recent update fix this one thing, it isn't even hard and you have shown us that it isn't.

Trust I feel your pain, I would rec just giving up on them doing that however because if there is a monetary profit, they will run towards it, totally ignoring all old players and they have in the past. :D

No, we should not even be supporting this dumb idea of a system when there are better ones.

    You are 100 percent correct.

    @Kees_T said:

For example, the code can be used 10 times on Steam, 10 times on Windows Store, 10 times on consoles.

In this way, everyone is disputing against the players with their platform(talking about the speed to write the codes), so doesn't matter if the Steam players used the code 10 times, it's separated and each platform has the limit use, and then everyone gave equal chances.

Still, the idea to lock charms behind watching streams is horrible and forced.

I understand you are trying to help, although you still are advocating for something not good. We should really should just not be supporting this practice in the first place.

The devs just demonstrated that they will take miles if we give them an inch so I do think that if we allow them this, then this issue will only get worse.

First its charms, then its other cosmetics, and before you know it it'll be something drastic like perks.

I really do think that is a possibility, if they could ruin one of their most important events (The Blighted Event this year) by locking cosmetics away that in the past had gave you a chance to earn them, break ps4 cap, and nerf discordance to force people to increase the grind that the devs are starting to artificially increase even more, and the other assortment of problems I haven't listed here, then I have no doubt that they would do the above.

Shh, don't bring their attention to Trappi Boi, they may neuter his Bloody Coil and cause it to heal Survivors rather than injure them.

XD Actually deadass, considering how this event has gone, I would not be surprised if they nerf the trapper, I mean they nerfed discordance, why wouldn't they nerf trapper.

Who knows maybe they plan on making all addons have tiers so we have to buy those as well, you know, because the current grind just isn't enough according to the devs. :P

been going back and doing old challenged I hadn't done before. currently working on the killer challenge to trap 2 people in the same match as the Trapper, and I'll be goddamned if the survivors just kept disarming them. Disarming should require a skill check or something.

He needs a buff, he has always needed a buff, I would love to play trapper if they buffed him, I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY DON'T BUFF HIM! :(

There is a difference between getting value out of a "bad" perk and winning with "bad" perks. You can win with "bad" perks by playing well or having not so strong opponents, but that doesn't mean that the perks were the reason why you won.

If you want to tell me, that someone does not do gens cause of the broken status effect and waits, then i have to ask you, if you've ever considered that this player may be someone who is only crouching and doing a totem every 4mins, i.e. not helpfull at all for the team?

Also you have to get the protection hit first to get valueof the perk and if you want to tell me now that you can get that strategically every time, then i have to totally agree with @DerpyPlayz, that you might not play against at least half decent survivors.

    Thank you. :)

My response was in no way targetting anyone you had said in this topic. I was responding to OP and saying simply that I hate hearing all the racial/hate slurs in online games. I mute them an move on. "caring about what they say" and having to listen to awful things are two different things. I prefer an environment, where I can simply ignore the comments. I don't care when a game is over, and survivors yell at killer, or killer yells at survivor, but I still don't want to see/hear certain hate speech that comes with online communcation in internet games. If you can't understand that, then that is on you.

If I copy and pasted my last response it would be able to apply to this one.

Make a new point, not a circular argument.

    This is insanity.

Are most of you trying to claim the competent red ranks abandon altruism altogether?!

So when any of you face what you claim to be decent teams they don’t attempt:

    • flashlight saves?
    • pallet saves?
    • sabo the hook?
    • Body block other injured teammates, or those they’re trying to heal, or those on death hook?

Because that’s the implication here: that presumably survivors of higher skill stop helping each other. At all.

Which of course sounds crazy, doesn’t it...

Also as for lack of protection hits, I do understand this train of thought. It wasn’t until I was using Forced Penance that it was highlighted to me just how often some hits counts as protection hits. I.e. it procs WAY more often than most think it would. The only (rare) game it hasn’t is when survivors don’t help each other at all. They also die quicker when they behave this way. Does that sound like competent survivors?

As for them running backs to gens because “what else can they do?” it doesn’t matter. Or I should say it doesn’t matter to me. Gens are more than the survivors objective. They’re a juncture point for more reliably finding survivors when a killer needs to enter a fresh chase. And for M1 killers if I’m to find anyone on gens, the preference is that they’re still injured rather than requiring 2 hits. Short chases matter just as much as gen stall matters.

In my personal experience being able to find, track, and successfully end chases quickly on all 3 accounts works just as effectively at stalling repair progress as the more meta methods.

No mister strawman, since you are setting up a premise I am not agreeing with I stopped reading your comment.

Answer each of our comments as one, and actually say something that is a valid counter point then "Pft you all are claiming everyone is god therefore you suck losers", because all i'm hearing is a whinny killer not understanding why a objective matter is not subjective.

2: There is no difference from the last event. Same as always, just a slight bloodpoint boost.

3: The new survivor add on can be used whenever the player wants after the event has ended, but the killer is limited to during the event ONLY. (Devs, your bias is showing)

If there are any I missed then this event will be a bigger joke than I thought.

Lol, I know how to bait a dead hard thanks.

I’m kinda tired of the whole “tHeY mUsT bE pOtAtO sUrViVoRs” vitriol just because I’ve found ways to make the non-meta perks work for me.

Well you always get those arguments because they are true.

Firstly, if a surv knows what they are doing they won't run out in the open and start screaming then press dead hard early, no. Thats something someone who doesn't know what they are doing does. Instead, its supposed to be used to connect to pallets and windows. When used properly you can't "bait" out a dead hard because you aren't going to be in range to hit them and if you try you would either wiff, or eat a pallet.

Secondly, sure there are perks that will work and give you plays you could not of done otherwise, however this is universal and applies to every perk.

Its a SWF with flashlights trying to be toxic? Aw should of brought Lightborn.

Its two survivors blocking hook so now I dropped a survivor? Aw should of brought Mad Grit.

Ect this goes on and on, that's why sure sometimes this perk will help however ultimately you are just wasting a perk slot in the long run.

lets nerf discordance., but not what everyone is talking about

I think Coco said it well, they added the tiers so they can increase the grind into the game.

Im starting to think these guys are Bugthesda 2.0 at this rate as I have never seen a more enraged playerbase.

Gotta feel bad for the mods, as even though they are trying their best its basically futile as more and more people come and comment something that is just random insults.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Forced Penance is totally the underdog killer perk of this year. I love it. I was ALWAYS getting significant use out of it when survivors were grouped together, or body blocking me.

Now that extra 20 seconds is HUGE when it’s applied multiple times across a match. Yes, survivors will just do gens. But honestly for some killers you WANT to find survivors on gens STILL in the injured state. Frequently denying survivors the opportunity to heal is a BIG deal for killers that want/need to keep chases as short as possible.

My favourite killer perk in the past few DLC’s

Nope, a team that is really good likely wouldn't heal anyway to use clutch perks like Dead Hard, ect and to then chain it with a second chance perk.

A decent team will just do gens and loop you.

This would only work vs a team of incompetent survs.

Just wanted to point it out since you wanted to solely complain about survivors. But sure keep being a sarcastic dick if it makes you feel any better?

Yes you did, stop being disingenuous. You literally said "They added a killer add-on that does the same thing you know." implying that they are on the same level when they aren't.

The great part about this is not only are you using adhominems (calling me names) but you have the audacity to create a strawman in the same sentence.

If you aren't going to pay attention i'm not going to bother reminding you every five seconds why people that you call "whiny" are upset about and why they should be. This event was an embarrassment, that was my one and only point.

If it's feedback about the game specifically - we're moderators, not devs, so we can't tell you much about changes or whatsoever, but what we do as a team is respond to threads about the game. Engaging with the users is important too, like I said, we're players too. I've posted my opinions on too, others have too.

Our job isn't just simply dishing out warns, bans, locks and etc. We do so much more than that. If it's negative feedback, typing on every thread "Thank you" would look condescending in the long run, especially as those threads are meant for the game developers. The devs do see the threads and they do check them. We're here to keep the forums running and to also engage with the users.

Legit, besides this thread here, all I have seen you do is ban, lock, and warn, ect. I don't think you really are winning over anyone with you saying you are just another player either.

You are a mod, therefore you have authority and I am unsure why you are trying to downplay that otherwise.

They don't even have to have a ptb for console. Just fire up a ps4 and test the build you're about to release in house. It blows my mind how often this happens. I know they care more about pc than anything else but we paid for this game too. Not to mention the money spent on dlc after dlc, cosmetics, and the rift. The least they could do is test the version of the game they're giving us. That reminds me of another gaming company that cares more about money than quality products. I love this game and have for years but if BHVR is turning into EA Canada, it's heartbreaking.

I mean, I am sure there are legit reasons why a PTB is not out on console.

Each event to my knowledge costs 1000 auric cells, now providing you reach tier 70 (which is easily achievable for regular players) you get the 1000 auric cells back as a reward.

Providing you don't spend your newly acquired auric cells, you then use them for the next new event which costs 1000 cells.

I can't see any valid reason to complain about the events when you get given back the cells it cost you in the first place!!!!!

Now that aside there are plenty of other never ending issues that they cant seem to tackle, fix or get right in a timely manner, but hey that's why they put this forum in place.

You are refering to the tomb, not the event.

Sure if you decided to play and no life the game for X amount of time you could get every tier and not spend any cells to then use on the next battle pass to get it for "free".

Problem resides that if you either:

A.) Have a life, as in work, or have to take time away for some other reason.

    or

B.) Do not want to grind the game for a month or two straight, especially players who don't avidly play this game

If either are the case, you are incentivized to buy tiers because how strict time is for it. Played avidly during a time period of at least a month and STILL had to use cells to buy tiers and even then I only actually finished the last tier with 3 days remaining.

Legit to anyone looking at the battle pass, I would recommend you unlock as much as you can that way if the rift is going to close and you are only on tier 50, you can rest assured that you didn't waste your money, while if you are basically done with it you can then buy it knowing for 100% fact that you will get everything if you buy the battle pass.

  • @PlzDontStabMe said:

You know - I would accept Decisive being usable after every unhook; if its duration was reduced to something like 30/35/40 seconds; and it was also modified to deactivate itself if:

    • Survivor recovers a health state.
    • Survivor attempts to cleanse a totem.
    • Survivor touches a generator.
    • Survivor enters a locker.
    • Survivor heals another injured or downed Survivor.

If Decisive was changed to be purely for use for anti-tunneling (and, despite lockers being an argument for being the only option if you're being chased for the duration, it is BS that it automatically triggers Decisive if the killer pulls you out of it because you hopped into one in their line of sight and they saw you.), then I would be fine with it being active everytime you were unhooked.

In its current state? Absolutely not.

Actually you may be on to something here, I would not of thought that I would be ok with two Dstrikes with the aforementioned poster's idea, but legitimately after thinking about it if they added this is would def be used only as a anti tunnel.

If they added your idea with the posters idea this I would agree with.

Toxic swf no longer could abuse it, and ACTUAL tunnellers would be punished for doing so all the while survivors would lose the undeserved grace period of 60 seconds when they do something that proves they are no longer in chase such as doing a gen.

  • @Poka7Joke said:

At the moment there are a lot (I mean a lot) tunnlers in dbd. And that's why I ask myself the question: What should I do if I've already been tunneled and have already used destrike?

So I came up with the idea, what if you could use destrike 2 times but only for 30 seconds.

Before anyone thinks: "That's way too strong." Let me explain.

    1. 30 seconds are not long and a survivor can no longer feel as extremely safe as now and continuously annoy the killer because he/she is "immune"

    2. If you have a killer who is in extreme tunnel vision and only chases you, then it is better to stun him twice and get a chance to survive twice than that you only have one chance and after destrike is gone, are you dead

These are first of all the reasons that I have to offer. If you have any pros/cons, please share them.

(I also think it's a shame that you're always forced to play with destrike because 4/5 killers are tunnlers. Maybe remove destrike as a perk and add it as a passive ability for every survivor.)

No, you are literally advocating for a buff to Dstrike, this is insane how you even think this is a nerf or a simple rebalance.

All you are doing is giving the potential for there to be two Dstrikes, tunneling is already not an issue either due to the killer throwing the game if he does this if the surv is good.

A decent rando surv team would just do gen the duration of the chase, tunneling working is just as much the fault of survivors, just as is camping, both are avoidable yet typically screamed out as if its cheating by inexperienced survs.

All you are saying is you want another life in addition to Instaheal medkits, the perks extending chase/dodging a hit that would of been tooken other wise, on top of the 3 potential chases you already have as a base kit. Legit I am sure there are already 7 lifes for each survivor potentially (assuming they could proc all their perks, got hook saved all times, ect).

I know for certain all this would do is have more people using the already amazing perk, more SWF that want to greif would use this as well, ect

Only thing they need to do is make it not work in a locker grab atm so it can't be abused like that. Did you honestly think about this for a while and decide this was a good idea, or did you just get outplayed and decided to post this out of anger? (This is an actual question)

I hope to all god that this doesn't actually make it to the actual game, otherwise everyone will have Dstrike and not only that there will be less killers then there already are.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1686580#Comment_1686580

Well, its probably a difference how we see the game. I think its pretty much on topic. Survivors get a tool to relay info, but get punished more for messing up. You're right that its gameplay overhauls, but isnt that what the compensation is about? Survivors get a new basic mechanic to relay information ( not get spoonfed by the game, big difference), so the compensation should be something thst affects all trials, regfardless of killer or perks chosen.

While my examples or ideas might be unsuited in a different perspective, they're basic mechanics that asffect all survivors. Theyre just ideas after all, we could also make injured survivors worrse at repairing generastors or stuff. But i felt that just debuffing speeds" instead of punishing risky/stupid plays would be too hard on bad survivors "who just talk about their friends and cute boys". Afterall there sre still solo playser who would get hit by the vcompensation too. Adding delays to actions ( generastors/ doors / chest) to only add progress after the initiation animation is done, will affect gameplay too, but will fix gen/door tapping in the process too.

The killer abilities are more relevant to the killer-killer-balance or the " killer tier gap". In my opinion it's off topic as survivors shouldnt really care how much we buff the weaker killers as long the top stays the same. Let's say we buff all C-F rank killeras till theyre about as strong as Hillbilly, how did that effect the balance between survivors and nurse/spirit? While closing the gap between killer tiers is important too, even if rarely discussed as such, its irrelevant to this topic.

TLDR: the solo swf killer compensation is a gameplay overhaul, why would gameplay ovehauls be off topic? As long as survivor gets harder in exchange for those information relay tools.

Well I suppose, now that I think about you are right.

  • my advice is don't dc and at least if you do don't put it here for everyone to see lol.

    @DerpyPlayz

Not what you said at all?

Dude. Read what you imply here:

    https://i.gyazo.com/bde99882d7acff5dbb859da268ab9307.png

The fact that you think it is irrelevant to the conversation when the very topic of this thread is about the state in which solo queue survivors find themselves in, because of this "gap" since they do not possess the information that swf do makes it important and relevant.

Skill is important because you are referring to a player's ability/inability play the game. If you have a bunch of players who do not understand how the game works and want to use that as your excuse to buff killers simply because swf gives you some advantage. Then it is important to discuss.

    Strawman?

    https://media1.tenor.com/images/e1e88a6386b15dcbc9fda38bc2b9fb3a/tenor.gif?itemid=9201569

Firstly, strawman is a word that I am using correctly. Well more specifically a idea. Either or "misrepresenting someone's argument to make it easier to attack." is the simple meaning of a strawman. hence why I am calling you as such.

Also nope, its very simple really. OP simply asked if there is a way to make SWF vs Solo more balanced if SWF was universal. This is because as stated before and for the reasons gave before SWF is already unbalanced and then asked what buffs should be added if this was the case.

The reason we don't go off of skill for a issue that is outside of skill is very obvious. If you say skill for your argument you can say skill against it as well. IE if you said "SWF is not unbalanced because the survivors still have to be good", then by that same logic I can say "Yhea, well it is super unbalanced because amazing survivors can abuse it to all hell and back". It results in a circle, where we could just repeat that without coming to a resolution and to that degree conversation is futile.

In general it is important to discuss any issue correlating to balance in general, however as said previously for this exact reason is why I took the stance generally SWF is advantageous to a unfair degree for all the reason said prior.

For this all we need look at the average player as they are most common, rather then the best or worst players.

Again, it is not an argument of survivors having X skill therefore they can or can not SWF, its more the question of is SWF advantageous in an unfair way so much so that buffs should be added for killer. (Although I already don't agree killer should be buffed in this case as stated previously, and think gen time should simply be increased by 7 to 10 seconds in a SWF although targeting 3 - 4 SWF's.)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1686618#Comment_1686618

    @DerpyPlayz

The discussion isn’t about how SWF is unbalanced. It is about the “gap” between solo vs SWF survivors.

Please show a video where someone who can’t loop a killer magically got better at looping once they were in a SWF group. Please do.

I did point out the skill of the player because that is important when we are having a conversation about a gap between both types.

As for the rest, I’ve already rested my case. So I’ll simply keep it at refer to previous comments. I am not going to repeat myself.

Again this is why your argument is fallacious.

It is that there inherently is a "gap" or whatever word you would like to use that's its equivalent.

A "Gap" in the context used is obviously inherently as a disadvantage as well.

This is whats known as a strawman this second part, as your statement implies that my argument was that bad survivors who can't loop got better at the game solely due to them being in a SWF when that is no what I said at all.

Sure its important ONLY when we are talking about skill, and not inherently unfair advantaged based on the function of the party system being able to be abused to give this unfair advantage. Sadly we only talking about the second part, so what you are trying to prove is irrelevant as it doesn't have anything to do with the conversation.

Well of course you stated your case silly, I mean sure you say its not to repeat yourself but very clearly anyone who saw my reply to you would realized I quoted you on three different equations and in all three made valid counter points. Silly, you aren't fooling anyone by implying I am just stating what others say and that's the reason that you won't reply to my previous arguments. Its very clear as of now especially then before that if you don't strawman me then you have no way to actually give a counter explanation because in reality you don't have one.

I love the killer gameplay in this game for the very simple reason that you always win. If the survivors are weak, you hook and sacrifice them - win, however if they are exceptionally good, like the example below, you have a few good chases, hopefully hook them a few times and they escape - you still win (at least I like the chase experience myself)

Enter our antagonists, four friends, all playing Claudette, with a fully decked out build, all with flashlights at start

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QEVBS13A4MXJ/dbd-shame-1.png

When I saw the all Claudette team, all of them with flashlights at the start, I knew this is going to be a fast match, however what I never anticipated is the match taking a little over an hour.

After a roughly 15 minute whack-a-mole around a single building, where I was chasing around 3 of them with little success, I decided to start recording.. Did not want to stream directly, so I can protect their identity, so the video you see below is my playing back onto twitch the recording I made :) no, I am not a pro streamer and I do not have any video editing software, so I decided this is the easiest.

Here is roughly what you are going to see:

    • them finishing their first generator while I have already spent about 15 minutes playing whack-a-mole with 3 of them.
    • the fourth person joining the "fun" and about ~15 more minutes of my trying to catch them.
    • a few minutes of me trying to be creative, by faking a disconnect and eventually me fleeing to my cellar.
    • at this point, I literally gave up and just wanted them to finish the gens so I can move on.. didn't happen, they came after me.
    • We spend the next 10-15 minutes in my cellar, me trying to ignore them, while they were taunting me
    • Eventually some trickery ensues and I manage to get some hooks and even sac one of them
    • once they are down to 3, they do some more gens, but still not in a hurry to go anywhere
    • I make it out of my cellar, giving up waiting, figuring that with only 3 of them left, I now have a better chance of chasing them down and saccing them and eventually I get there, but all in all it takes a little more than an hour for what should have been a 8-10 minute survivor victory

    Warning:

    • the following video might contain erratic killer gameplay, seal clubbing and extreme levels of toxicity. You can learn a lot about how to evade killers, but please.. do not - I repeat - DO NOT learn their style of how to act towards killers. That is highly toxic and an example of behavior that is or at least should be bannable.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/772392591

I strongly believe that this sort of behavior is inexcusable and should never be tolerated. Especially not, when the other party can be held hostage.. I had the choice of waiting them out, trying to drive them away, or disconnecting, getting my penalty for doing so.

A report will be sent to the devs with names included, so they can take appropriate action.

Sure they bullied you however I strongly disagree that anything should happen to them nor do I think that anything will for the simple fact you are holding the game as hostage just as much as they were. You literally were camping in basement, afk basically and were not doing anything.

All you had to do was down one and hook them and then camp so they would be forced to do gens.

    Good grief...

I’m not necessarily vouching. I’m conceding to the fact that devs usually address issues via perks.

With that in mind, my question is why doesn’t a perk addressing this exist yet.

You are vouching by definition, also just read my last comment if you want my response to your question as you said the same thing.

You are vouching by definition "assert or confirm as a result of one's own experience that something is true or accurately so described."

It has not been my experience that what you claim is even true really, typically imbalance in the past was caused by maps (Literal Infinites), broken items (Insta flashlights, ect), broken game mechs (Flashlight saving could be done at near the same frame as the start of the animation picking up a survivor, ect) AND/OR broken perks. Therefore, there were many different solutions that were used to stop this.

Again, there is no perk for this because there is no reason for there to be; and nor do I ever think there will be as as said previously, that would be silly for there to be.

Please don't adhere to the circular reasoning fallacy...

    @MusicNerd_TC

First off, you are replying to a reply I made to someone else. Something which I have seen you do time after time.

I responded with comms DO NOT give you skills needed to win the match. Then you go ahead and list those things as if I am not somehow aware that they exist. Which just goes to show you miss my initial point.

And also where did I say that you said solo queue survivors are bad because they do not have comms? I know you didn't say it. I am letting you know my perspective/stance after over 4000 hours in this game on both killer and survivor.

    @OniWantsYourMacaroni

And just the same I acknowledge that there is an advantage to being in a swf. What I said was that it wasn't as big as some would like to think.

Why would the devs give indirect universal buffs to killers which are already in a good spot? At that point you are not giving them a buff you are overtuning them.

    @OniWantsYourMacaroni

As I stated before, this is simply untrue information.

You can be a reliable teammate with great coordination without comms. This has been proven time after time. Communication does not give you the skill needed to successfully win a match. You can have all the information in the world but if you can't loop a killer, are not good with timing (saving, when not to pick up a dying state survivor, recognize the killer is camping so therefore make yourself useful etc.) You will most likely fail if not cost your team time which they do not have.

This isn't as black and white as many claim it is, is what I am saying.

For too long solo queue survivors have been used as "They are just not as good because of comms" excuse in order to excuse these uneeded "buffs" for killers.

I'd like to address your fallacious argument.

Firstly, this is just a fact that SWF are unbalanced. There are a multitude of reasons for this however information IS the reason. It (being information) allows for you to choose the perks of everyone before the match starts, items, addons, map offerings (This likely is going to be changed from what I hear, also I state that only SWF have this choice as even if a killer brings an offering if two or more survivors bring one it makes it unlikely to be the killers offering), ect.

Meaning a swf in general, even a bad one as long as they are somewhat competent can lay the ground rules for everything other then what the killer will be doing in the match (and ofc random loop formations, and general rng) and this is just the start of a SWF's power before the game has even started purely based solely on information. The fact that all this is true / can be true is troubling.

I like how you state "if you can't loop a killer, are not good with timing" ect, because this is irrelevant to the conversation. The point is, that SWF have an inherit advantage due to information and ability to coordinate from a level that is unparalleled to solo survivors.

if we were to look at the two; a fair argument would be that you could being in info perks such Bond, therefore in this situation a solo surv would have great information and can make and foresee plays that otherwise could not of been done otherwise. I have a counterargument however, because as I already demonstrated, the ground rules for a SWF are set from the start, and they already naturally have coms. For this reason Bond would be a perk waste as long as the survs are decent, as they could just use coms instead, not only could they save a perk slot however coms would disable any other limits (Such as Bond's X radius to see survs) and be able to give universal callouts to everyone all at once.

Yes you are acknowledging that there is an advantage however you all the same are downplaying it the same way you think person(s) are unplaying it.

Im unsure of the buffs to killers universally I don't know how that would fair, although one thing they could do is give an extra X or XX seconds to gen time when you are vsing SWF. It would be subtle and even only an extra 7 - 10 seconds would be nice.

Lastly, I would assume someone with 4000hrs in this game would know of the other ways a SWF is unbalanced other then what I have already listed so I decided to keep this as short and not go on about the other reasons for a time save. Although I have been playing this game since late 2018, I have much more then 4000 hours in total I am sure as I avidly played the duration.

I only stated this last bit to prove how irrelevant as a point this is to bring up, as it doesn't matter to the argument how long you have been playing and more so it is a appeal to authority which is a fallacy.

The closest we can get to closing the swf gap is by

    • Display survivor perks and items to other survivors in lobby
    • Add a ingame message system ( " focus generators" ) ( my example can be used as "killer in chase, im being camped, or " just genrush idiots). " I need healing" might be useful too.
    • Optionally add voicechat ingame.

I think any aura reading or UI changes wouldnt really be gap closers as they buff the people using comms too.

Now taking the above as basis, I'd say the killer compensation should be base mechanics, not Killer abilities. Ive been thinking about making survivor mistakes more costly for survivors, among other tweaks.

An example would be to punish survivors more for getting hit mid action. Survivors could flinch when getting hit while repairing, healing etc, taking away some of their hit sprint ( you cant use the full hit sprint because you're rooted in place by the flinch animation). Same with vaults, you get hit in "midair",you fall to the floor and have to get up before sprinting away. This could have fancy new animations too.

Making being injured harder on survivors could work too, harder skillchecks etc might work, although i doubt less movement or vault speed would be viable choices. ( Movement speed afterall is one of the strongest changes there is)

Making the obsession state hasve automatic detrimental effects on survivors. This might come off as offtopic, but DS' description treats it as a detrimental consequence of using DS, while its not really a negative effect. I suggest minus X seconds needed for bloodlust accumulation among other things. Its kinda bad I always pick skillcheck stuff for negative side effects.

Theres also things as gen tapping removal or simply adding a delay to the door switches ( those kinda levers need to be pulled down first, then the effect comes)

Erm you are like talking about a gameplay overhaul, it sounds interesting but doesn't really have anything to do with the topic.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

The gap isn't that big. The skill gap is big.

You can't buff killers based on how bad solo queue survivors are doing while blaming it on them not having comms. Because they do just as bad in a swf team.

This is something that this community never likes to bring up. It's always "Let's fix the SWF problem"... which is exactly what? The comms? Cuz I can play the same way with or without comms. What I can't play with is teammates who don't know how to play. There is a big difference.

The gap is downright massive, plays that would typically not be possible without certain person such as bond not only are possible with a swf group, but they can save that perk slot as they no longer need information perks.

Not only that the enemy team in a SWF is majorly coordinated (if they are decent) therefore as long as one is decent to loop the killer for a minute then likely 3 gens will literally be done.

Top that with the synergy of their perks, items let allow you to insta-win x4 times in a row in one game (keys), Object of obsession, ect it gets to the point where if the SWF wants to they can choose how strong they are going to be.

Now, settle down and hear me out. For every “What?! 360’s are so easy to deal with!” There is someone else, like me, that should be able to easily hit a 360, and knows exactly what they should be doing, but:

    • gets screwed over by the game performance because the game suddenly has trouble coping with all the survivor activity occurring around the killer.
    • aim dressing causing TOTAL disorientation.
    • the horrid disappearing scratch marks bug that can quickly make you lose which direction a survivor went.

Now... I know we tend to get irritated by issues addressed via perks. But seeing as that IS the current way of things, and 360’s are a common survivor interaction, why HASN’T there been a killer perk available to help?

It could be either some sort of auto lock on, or something that dramatically increases the attack arcs AoE.

    Thoughts?

Silly adding an entire perk for something that is such a non-issue.

Your argument makes no sense, you list valid reasons why (at times) when a survivor 360s that you can't hit them. IE camera glitch, or snap on causing you to hit a near object, ect. However, you should be vouching for fixes to this things, NOT for a perk to disable or make 360ing harder.

Its for these reason I think you are not being honest with your reasoning and that you likely genuinely think that 360ing is unfair.
