Thats because mat hs take 10 to 15 minutes alot of the time and queues are only like 2 to 3 minutes. As well play while you wait just makes killer queue longer sense it means more people are queuing for killer
Play while you wait is actually an amazing system. People can play two roles with minimal que time, experiencing the game from all sides, instead of being suffocated by just one. If you don't want to play the other role, then endure the long queue. In my opinion, this is the best thing they've done. And frankly, discussing the game's balance and mechanics, as many do here, based solely on experience with one side is utter idiocy.
This system at least encourages surv/killer mainers to be flexible

The devs over the last several years made playing survivor hot garbage for solo q and barely playable for a full swf.
I can agree that playing solo is difficult because there are 4 random people with different playstyles and gameplay perspectives, but calling SWF barely playable is something new. Even if you're bad at playing the survivor, you have all the information about the map and the killer's position without info perks, and being able to communicate on Discord isn't that hard, you know?
The most problematic are fully coordinated SWFs with meta perks, they create a huge gap between solo/casual swfs and killers. Against them, you have to work your ass off, and they discourage most people from playing at all. Not all killers in this game are sweaty nerds who have studied the game inside and out.
Regarding the topic, there might also be a summer factor, in addition to the new killer. People are on vacation and spending time elsewhere, so que times take longer than usual, or people prefer to hide from the heat and come back to play in the evening/night when the heat subsides.
-
Game approach: Chase / Tactical
Perks / Addons: regresion + information (IMHO you'll be gen rushed or you won't have enough info to start the next chase)
Mentality: I don't care about 4k, I love mind games and mastering killers' abilities - like the Hillbilly with his sliding/curving mechanics, or the Nurse, where you should predict survivor movements.
The Singularity it's more about tactics: deciding what to place where, and determining the most effective locations and methods for doing so
Killers: Hillbilly, Nurse, Singularity -
General inventory is a good thing, as it would free up a lot of server space, and I'm all for it
But the reason they can't do it could be because they need to process petabytes of data
Another, more dangerous thing is SAVE DATA, which means that if something goes wrong, players could lose progress
Older players might remember the days when DBD had a local save file that would reset every time you agreed to the terms of service
We can ask Mandy to check with the development team to see if this is safe to do so as not to break everything
If this is possible, it would be an amazing QoL

ow so bring a perk that might not do literally anything making the already misrable killer experience even worse hexs have limits why cant boons it would let them balance them better on an individual level as well survivors pick where they put there hex while killers dont and alot of the time the hex spawn right in front of the survivors face getting 0 value
Your hex also may not doing anything entire trial, that's not an argument
Boons have radius, hexes aren't
Hexes have litteraly strong effects:
Block palletes / windows
Oneshots / Memento / Blind / Pentimento (which is very bad for soloQ)
Thats why they're limited, you know? Survivors have to run in boon radius to get effect, which may be lost because killer can deactivate boon without any perks
Spawning hexes in front of survivors face its a problem with bugged spawns and horrible map design, its not about limiting other side, there should be base protection for totems from start of the trial, no doubt
-
Boons are perfect counter measures against full hex builds. Like in current meta against Jasons its effectively to bring CoH to get rid of Pentimento
CoH nowdays isn't that OP as it was on release
And you can bring perk on your killer to permanently destroy boons + totems
-
What about survivors who use their anti-tunnel protections agressevly?
-
5-7 min trials are standard against survivors who understand game and play efficiently, if you want to slowdown their progression you have to learn A+ / S tier killers a.k.a those who are mobile and can create pressure on all survivors
every match requires near-perfect decision-making
Exactly!
You should understand your killer power as your own fingers, understand map layout, maximize your tactics, think what gen they will repair next
Survivors also should understand your ability very well, understand how to maximize time in each tile and hold in head next strong chase patching against you
This requires a lot of practice and experience
-
There're only 5 killers who are playing this event: Ghoul, Jason, Legion, Bubba, Plague. Everyone else is miracle
-
I hope those ormond Snowmen only as decorative? I do remember them as additional protection from killer hits
-
Congrats!

I feel like alot of the killer counterplay issues DO require a minimum knowledge. You dont want your teammates to cleanse against Plague for example, then go right back to touching an infected gen. Thats not Plague being OP, thats a single survivor teammate giving her all the fountains in the world. I remember seeing plenty of clips of ppl playing old Myers with perma T3 and youd always have that 1 survivor having a staring contest with him.
I saw 3k hours / p100 Claud who did exactly the same you typed against Plague. Some survivors are doing it on purpose
I do also see a lot of survivors who looping killers near hooked survivor who has kindered
A lot of survivors who've been chased and running to survivors with 2 hooks states while theyself are at 0 states

It seems like there's a misunderstanding between the developers and players. People were mostly asking for an increase in the drop rate of the cakes themselves, not the price at which they can be purchased (there are more common offerings, and they're cheaper). If the drop rate really remains the same: 18 cakes for survivors, then it won't make the game any more worthwhile or motivating. On the other hand, thanks for the x2 bloodhunt; at least that better fits the theme of the old anniversaries.
-
I played about 6-7 games on the Killer to complete the quests and a few more on the Survivors for the quests, and then went back to normal mode. The whole event is pretty crap, to be honest: one-sided, bad cosmetics that I wouldn't even want for free, and problems with the cakes. I regret that I only leveled one Killer to 100 for the last anniversary, and now that the time has come to level up my Survivor to 100, I get this…
I can barely play for 2-3 hours even on weekends, I have to force myself, the funniest thing is that I wanted to take a vacation from work to farm for the 10th anniversary, but it was not meant to be

Each killer game against SWF will be on Autoheaven and each solo survivor game against Nurse will be on Midwich

Its 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 28, 30, 33, 35, 38, 40, 42, 45, 47, 50 for Survs
14% for random badge with event item, or something like that
0.5% for additional cake in all web, or something like that -
I'd rather delete this joke event completly and give everyone x10 BP multipler with common rarity for cakes and items
-
There's a strange situation here; I seriously suspect Jason is dependent on ping.
When I play as him, I'm slow, I can't catch up, the spear takes too long to cock, and the slowdown with the spear is too severe.
Meanwhile, when I play against him as a survivor, I don't even have time to run halfway around the pallet before I get hit; the spear registers me down to the smallest voxel and his speed is insane.
But the fact is, his speed boost shouldn't last 20/25 seconds after he exits his ability, It should be 5/8 seconds max.
His mobility cooldown, compared to his 4.6 speed boost's 20/25 seconds, is pure joke.
Jason can AFK in his ability. -

There is but those perks use the definition of when survivors goes to dying state does not matter if they get hit down by the killer. There is perks that activate on hit by the killer.
Yes, that's the problem, it's unclear whether this was a hit from the killer to trigger his perks or an arbitrary choice by the survivor.
The game in this case must separate these two things so as not to create accidental harm or benefit.

Funny that you mention that it can get rid of Corrupt Intervention, something which almost never happens, but you ignore that it also triggers Infectious Fright, Forced Hesitation and Eruption. I mean, we can totally remove the interaction between Plot Twist and Corrupt Intervention, but obviously the other interactions should also be removed. But I have not seen a Killer complain that they get a free Infectious Fright when Plot Twist was used.

Honestly, with how frequently it is coming up lately either a vocal Content Creator has complained about it or someone used it in a Build and now it is a big problem Perk. Especially the DS/Plot Twist-thing was something I have read multiple times over the past few days.
To be honest, they should create a system that determines when a hit or action occurs between two players, and when it happens in one direction. It’s very strange that it can work in one direction and create an unintentional chain of benefits for both sides
-
So when the killer disconnects, it's ok and fair, but once it affects them, it's no longer true... The game should be "fun" for all 5 players, not just 4 or 1 individually. Moreover, "fun" is such a vague concept between players. Increasing the penalty time won't change anything, but it will increase the likelihood of people ruining the game for others instead of leaving the bot: chasing the killer, spamming lockers, dropping all the pallets on the map, and who knows what else
Moreover, I don't know what world you and those content creators live in, but in my experience, you still have the possibility of 3 people winning in +2. Taking out the weakest player early or tunneling is not a guarantee of the killer's win
Furthermore, what do you mean by "fun"? And explain why your assumptions about it should apply to every person playing this game.
-
Plot Twist can also deactivate Corrupt Intervention, which is stupid as for me…
-
My eyes 😭

The event is clearly better than what came before it, I can only compare it to the anniversary
The only pity is that I couldn't farm for the survivors, because my friends and I have different work schedules… -

3 times DC in a row

See maybe one killer DC every 40 matches so its not that common and usually its even more matches in between. Some cases its clearly connection loss and sometimes its clear intentional DC.

I strongly disagree with your pov
Calm spirit as an example can counter doctor's shock therapy and static blast
Spirit - iron will
Etc
As killer you can't adjust your ability to survs

I wonder if people will dodge every killer that can do something and preffer killers like Pig and Ghostface to bully them?

There is a difference between Missmatch/Nuke to BM.
From time to time I can loop the Killer for 3 to 5 gens and not a single T bag or Hump is made in a whole game althrough one side is clearly better than the other.
BMing is a personal problem which occours in nearly every game and has nothing to do with the games balance or MMR at all.
If you are a toxic person you will be toxic no matter what.
When you feel like the game is unfair for you, you start getting angry and that can lead to "toxic behavior/BMing", if you don't get my point
The video simply explains why this anger can appear -
There're many reasons that have been discussed billion of times and that's not ony about killers

At some point can we please stop blaming MMR and just acknowledge the fact that there are only a handful of pro level survivors in the world that can handle a blight that plays like this? If MMR was so strict that he only gets matched up with these kinds of teams, his queue time go through the roof and those teams would get sick of playing the same people every game.
The truth of the matter is that if you can do the exact same strategy every game for nearly 2k games and win every time, the strategy is busted. MMR is not the reason hard tunneling/slugging with Blight is so effective. Almost every win streak you see boils down to the same thing: put on 4 slowdowns and tunnel someone out as fast as you can. Even tournaments know this, which is why they have to come up with a bunch of fake rulesets to try and make it interesting to watch lol. The strategy + blight being op + someone dedicated enough to devote their life to pointless winstreaks = unhealthy gameplay/mindsets that have nothing to do with the MMR system.
Players who escape 200 trials in a row or kill 1000 potatoes in a row should have a high matchmaking time, period
MMR shouldn't feed them casuals just because there are no suitable opponents for them
The current MMR system is the reason. It doesn't care how well you play; it just forces you to rat while your teammates do all the work for you or tunnel. It doesn't care how well you loop or how well you use your killer ability in chases, all that matters is whether you escaped or killed. If you played well as a killer, used your ability well, but made 8 hooks without tunneling or camping anyone - the MMR system says you've lost, period. Or the opposite: you looped or repaired 5 generators in solo but didn't escape - the MMR system says you've lost, period. It doesn't care how effective you were during the trial

Making him a little bit easier to deal as casual lobby would be a great start tho, don't you think?
I think we should first wait for news about the MMR rework, since it's already underway/planned. When players of similar skill levels start playing against each other, the picture will become much clearer
I think it's better to fix the root of the problem (the matchmaking and scoring system) instead, rather than stick on a temporary band-aid that they'll then spend another 10 years trying to fix
-
In fact, this only shows that the matchmaking in the game is completely broken, he should have finished his streak much earlier If the matchmaking worked by real MMR, and not by speed
-
Instead of just repairing the generator, he spends time running around looking for a chest, plus he spends time activating the perk in the basement. All in all, that's not 12 seconds, plus the new map is complete crap in terms of balance

Because Blood Gens are not really faster. If people bring this up they only take into account the time it takes to fill up the Gen, but filling up the can (especially with a limit of only one person at a pump) and the travel time gets ignored.
Plus it is the same as in the regular mode - early Gens get fast, late Gens are slower. Simply because the Travel time usually increases between Blood Pump and Blood Gen. And at some point you also cannot run anymore, because otherwise you lose so much Blood that you barely fill it.
We've wasted around 30 seconds to complete gen to 80% in duo, are you sure we're playing the same game?

Billy, Singularity, Freddy

Solo players can't be helped in any way. You'll either improve them to the level of SWF via communication, while worsening the situation for killers, which will also make things even better for SWFs. I've already given up on playing soloQ trials, because they're mostly filled with people who don't care about anything. Once every few dozen trials, you might find someone who's reasonable and understands the game. Also, you can play SWF without communication, the main thing is understanding the game and having a common goal. People in solo trials usually have their own goals: some came to loot totems, others to open chests, etc. So there's no point in playing solo. On the other hand, I hate any SWF as a killer, because there's this understanding that people came with a common goal, not to mess around
Improving conditions for people who simply don't want anything is the wrong way to go, as it hurts those who invest their time and are genuinely interested in the game
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
It does not, but there is perception bias. I also have the feeling that the first game on Billy I am doing is on an Indoor Map. But I will never remember the days where this did not happen.
Same with OP - 6 out of 7 games on Indoor Maps. But the next time OP picks up Singularity, they might get 0 Indoor Maps, but wont remember that.
So yeah, sometimes it can feel that way, but there is not really any connection that the Killer you play influences the map. You just notice it more if you end up on a Map which is bad for your Killer.
(Boosted Maps need to go tho. 100%)

It was terrible decision to boost these maps
-
As other people have mentioned, the colors for survivors and killers should be separated, it's not convenient to adjust colors every time you change roles
-
I don't think perks should create a comeback mechanic at all, it should be built into the game mechanics themselves, not a band-aid. And to be honest, killers have the "Fire Up" / "Coup de Grace" perk, which also passively grants tokens for survivors objective progress
-
This map gives me RPD vibes, absolutely horrific gameplay design
- God windows
- Too much corners
- Too big

How about you give some context? If you want people to participate, do the minimum amount of work which is to summarize what the random videos you are posting are about. Because unlike others, you probably watched them and should not expect others to spend their time watching it to have a discussion going in a Thread YOU created.
It's a kind of "killer anxiety," and what triggers it for each person?
People give their own reasons in different videos, but some of them overlap. For example, three or more overlapping ones are MMR, pallets, and maps…
I'm curious how you feel when playing as a killer. Do you recently get burnt out from playing this role for so long that you only want to play as survivors or not at all? -
@cogsturning said:
I'm not watching some CCs complain. Do you have your own views on the matter? Are you miserable? Or are we just parroting what people who make money off this game have to say?
I'm curious how people are feeling, because I've noticed this trend of burnout on killers for a long time, and now I see that it's just beginning to accumulate more and more and become public among content creators
My personal opinion is that you've already seen it, I believe MMR is the cause of all this. People have already stopped ignoring it because they're completely fed up with it
In addition to this, I would also prescribe a boost to certain maps that can intensify this feeling
