  • Making the other side feel miserable just one reason why. Something more fun for both sides should be viable. Even most killers probably feel bad using these stragedies but because they're the best options to win so they use them.

  • Sometimes I have had long periods not to get escape like I die 10 games a row and after that it feels your never going to escape but eventually you will and sometimes they just come in bunches like I can escape 5 times a row some days too.

This mindset that tunneling and camping are innately unskilled is also wrong. By design, survivors will lose the 1v1. The skill expression becomes how long can a survivor keep the killer busy knowing that eventually they'll go down.

There's no inherit reason why good players should handicap themselves by spreading out hooks. It has always been best to focus hooks between a couple survivors instead of the whole team.

Focus between couple survivors is already spreading some hooks and showing much more skill than just tunneling one survivor and ignoring everyone else anyone can do that easily so it requires much less skill than other stragedies.

It's 2.4k per match, which is 3k around 40% of the time. That means 60% killrate = 40% winrate for both sides on average. That's what that means.

If you want to be specific it's 2,44K per match I think that's 44% win rate for killer and 39% win rate for one survivor. But however many matches usually are blow out for both sides either killer getting 4K or at least 3 survivors escaping.

Which means 2k with ocassional 3k for killers if we distribute the survivors killed across all games. As killers MMR only go up with more than 2 survivors dead because how it works, killers are doing just fine.

Stop throwing the 61% killrate without even understanding it as an argument, please.

50% kill rate would equal 2K but 61% kill rate however is way above that. It's not 3K though which would equal 75% kill rate. But that 61% kill rates equals around 2,5K per match so 2K might be the most usual outcome but 3K is also very close maybe like from 20 games nine ends in 3K and eleven ends in 2K just my quess. But however dc:s are exluded from stats so those would probably increase kill rates even further.

  • @Crowman said:

As long as DBD is a 1v4 elimination game where the 1 player is trying to remove the other 4 players from the game, then tunneling and camping will always remain strategies.

Yeah but those should not be most viable stragedies that is the biggest problem. Stragedies which show skill should be more viable. 8 hooking everyone before killing probably will never be most viable stragedy but something in the middle ground should be.

  • Oh I though they changed pipping system as well. It would been nice to double pip with 4 hooks and 4K. Though 11 hooks and 3K would be then only give one pip eventhough that is probably more skillful...

You can use BNP consistently, the higher prestige you get the more iri you have in your bloodweb. Don't you know that ?

What is reason to use one in soloQ game? I rarely see anyone using them so using one of them is hardly going to make any difference in match. I think iri/purple items and add ons were anyway reduced in bloodwebs not that long ago. Hard to get even one purple med kit while prestiging levels.

It has the long drop into the poop room and the drops down onto the stairs, if you're looking to proc BL.

The problem is that, if you're not a pallet breaker, you're going to be at 0gens by the time you've gotten rid of the important ones - it's not just pallet volume, it's how strong some of them are.

That's why you have to defend gens and not to commit chases too long at the start.

Also Killer being in first person makes everything feel more personal, frustrating, and generally annoying IMO. It's easier to separate yourself from the frustration and not care as survivor since it's third person so there's more psychological distance and more visual awareness of the game environment as a whole. The extremely low killer FOV without shadowborn makes the game extra claustrophobic and disorienting which I presume is unfortunately how most people play killer and also adds to the stress. The low in game brightness and intense flashing animations for blinds and light flickering in maps probably give people headaches/physical discomfort more in first person view as well. I know it does for me.

That maybe explain some of it but if killer was 3rd person how you would lunge the 1st person is just better for the role.

  • @Mockingjay_S451 said:

So if you are all so upset about playing killer, and it’s such a horrible experience for you. Why do you do it?

Nobody can deny solo queue can be miserable. But, it’s how I play. If I despised it that much and never had fun, I wouldn’t play.

    You obviously aren’t always miserable.

And what do you mean personally humiliated for 10 minutes? Do you think being hooked, camped, hit on hook, tunnelled and slugged is a positive experience for survivor? We all have crap games on both sides.

But none of this changes the fact that killer is stronger than survivor currently. Fact. Look at the figures put out by BHVR. So calling for killer buffs when you face a “SWF BULLY SQUAD” is just unneeded.

You're right but killer just is so upsetting if you lose it does not matter even if you won 10 games a row when swf just humilates and destroys you. Maybe it can give some comfort but it's still horrible experience. As survivor you have team at least you didn't were alone. Killer needs team too 2 killers vs 6 survivors would be more fair. It should be added as another game mode. So then killers could just relax and have fun.

  • @Dustin said:

I feel they didn't nerf Eruption because BHVR wants to gauge how people use the "I am being chased" UI widget they're adding and seeing if it becomes necessary to nerf the perk.

To be honest though while I'm assuming that's their reasoning I still feel the perk should have been scaled back a bit.

Yeah I think eruption should have different effect than making survivors not able to do anything it's so boring.

  • You can't use brand new part every game and don't play with 3 friends that is not real survivor experience. Play soloQ or at most duo it's just tunnel fest now and that how most experience survivor. I hope they add 2 killer mode some day so I can just play it. I like playing killer but I don't like to be alone agains't team of 4.

Imagine if killers had a perk were you had to do some kind of check everytime you wanted to start repairing a gen, walking around it and looking for that smol clue or risk getting injured in the process. Everytime. And sometimes it would only proc while you were in the middle of the repair, giving you no reaction time and just send you on the floor, just because the killer pressed mouse3.

It would be worse then Eruption, and that ready has the survivor community up in arms.

Current dead hard is annoying but it's not that hard to counter usually survivors kinda show when they have it. Being greedy at pallets or looking at you ready to press it. I don't like either that you have to bait it out.

Eruption only requirement is to kick gen and then get down and it synerges with other regression perks very well. It's already perk for killers like dead hard but better. Those who don't play swf has no counter to it.

3 survivors with a toolbox repair 5 generators in less than 2 minutes, shift w takes the killer 30 seconds to chase

please tell us how an unbuffed killer can do 12 hooks in less than 2 minutes

    killers need buffs

everyone camps or plays only on the nurse, not because they are bad people, it's just that there is no other way to win

if we don't buff killers then we'll run into the camp no matter what we do

camping and tunneling are the main problems of survivors, but camping / tunneling is not a disease, it is a symptom

you can limit camping as much as you like, but until the killers simply have no other way to win, they will do it

Only hackers do 5 gens in 2 minutes. 3 gens can get done in that time if you don't pressure gens and chase that time only one survivor and all survivors also spawned separatedly. Most matches killer should get down pretty fast and use some slow down to defend gens which allows more time to go for chases.

Being good isn't just intentionally making the game harder on yourself. Your objective is to kill survivors, the less survivors in trial the easier it is to keep the gens from being done.

Calling killers skillless because you don't like how they are playing is a you problem.

I didn't call killers unskilled if you read my comment just that they don't trust enough their skill to win with other way than hard tunneling and facecamping at 5-4 gens. Tunneling and camping take least effort which why they're used. Most good killers I see go for multiple hooks there are some who tunnel as well only hooking one survivor again and again. They do it fast and pressure other survivors by slugging, kicking gens. But they instantly return to hook once unhook happens. They would win other way but they jusy want one survivor out no matter what. Personally if I win by tunneling at 5 gens I don't even feel at this point it's really winning. It's lot more rewarding to win actually playing well and getting multiple hooks. I still punish mistakes debending on situations if unhook happens right after hooking that's tunnel and if someone is left too long into hook I take trade or hook stage or kill. But these strats are not how I think I will play when match start.

Just get a pc lmao. I paid a lot of money for a better gaming experience. 😂

I would lose my account so I can't. So im hoping they would make it more fair at least they should do better optimization. I think hug tech and oni 180s and 360s on survivor should be removed or they should make them work on console. I quit playing Oni given how massive disadvantage I had compared pc Oni and then when I finally get hit it denied by survivor doing a spin.

  • @HugTechLover said:

I hit greats probably 80-85% of the time just playing normal. I’ve found it much easier on M&K.

M&K is too easy. Skill checks should be made smaller on pc so it would be more equal between console and pc.

  • That's way too many buffs to killer and the fact is not every one of them are meant to be S tier. Games will become boring as survivor if you can't loop any killer when they're overpowered. I just want 2 killer mode that would be good buffs to killer and we can add one extra survivor. So it's 2vs5. For this mode camping should be made imposible and it would be all about chase.

  • @TWS001 said:

Survivors 3 genning themselves is entirely the survivors fault, and Deja Vu can help against that.

What is being talked about here is when from the start of the game a killer (very often The Knight, but not always), sits in an area probably no bigger than 10% of the entire map that contains 3 generators and refuses to leave it for anything. Deja Vu won't help you in this situation! The game will end after an hour when the lobby auto closes, or when the survivors get so bored that they simply can't be bothered any more, normally around the 45 minute mark, unless they are super masochistic!

It's happening more and more by the day and together with the awful servers right now in the UK, the game isn't fun for anyone here at the moment.

I think that 45 minutes mark should be when match ends automatically ideally even earlier but then survivors could just hide and some games take bit longer. Currently match ends at 65 minutes mark but that is already way way too long.

  • @Crowman said:

Tunneling and camping is valid and using a few streamers as your proof against tunneling and camping doesn't prove what you think it does.

Big streamers have to play for the entertainment of their audience which generally means doing more than just running meta all the time.

Tunneling really isn't "skillless", because bad killers who try to tunnel out survivors who are better then them will get ran around for multiple gens. Killers who are good at the game can take advantage of tunneling more, because they are capable of beating survivors quickly in chase consistently.

Here's the thing they are not really good killers if they have to tunnel and use the most unskilled tactic to win. Even bad killers usually can tunnel survivor out easily if they know to target weakest link. But good thing is most actually good killers I see go for multiple hooks because they trust their skill to win that way or want more challenge and just play for fun. Im not good killer but I still go for multiple hooks unless it's gen rush squad.

stuff like 360s vaults and loops dont typically directly deny you your value. dead hard however, does. If somebody 360s a dashing oni then dam they earned it, but if they dead harded when oni got too close then 1, the killer is stunned from hitting. 2, you got a mini sprint burst from it. and 3, most likely you needed to dh to avoid that hit due to being in a deadzone, failing a mindgame, or got outplayed, invalidating your mistake or the killers success.

"something" was too broad. a 360, juke, vault, etc takes risk or (for the most part) thought. Specifically dead hard. 360s need mechanical skill at least, and a killer can still flick you.

Dead hard is risk to use smart killer baits it out.

She’s average unless you do the condemnation strategy which is definitely effective but not healthy for her kit imo. I’d rather buff her current abilities and nerf that strategy

Also kill rates mean next to nothing. If we’re to go off of them Pinhead is the best killer in the game and nurse is the worst

Nurse kill rates are lowered by dc:s. If we can see kill rtes including dc:s she will be much higher.

I'd take a 4man bleed out any day over a 4man hide and seek squad abusing the item drop thing to never get AFK crows. At least the bleed out ends.

That's why some are able to hide so well. I didn't know that... It should be changed and AFK crows should spawn if you don't do gens or cleanse totems etc for 2 minutes.

A rescue is very difficult. But pushing the gens is doable.

Do you have many matches where survivor play that way instead of wasting time trying to save?

Yes and that's 2K for me always as long first chase is not too long. 3-4K is possible with noed/deadlock. But if they manage to do the save im getting 1K mostly and if I succeed preventing save and get extra down im getting 2-4K.

For save I would try it like 10-20s before survivor is about to die if he went down quickly so 3 gens are most likely done. If save is succesful at that point bubba is getting 1K if he does not go after unhooked. And if he manages to prevent save still he is mostly getting 2K in that situation.

  • @DBDVulture said:

Big picture question : Why do I need to tunnel to win and how do we prevent it?

The answer is : survivors need to be less efficient at finishing generators & killers need to be less efficient at killing survivors. Mathematically there is nothing wrong with the survivors having two gens done if one survivor has lost two health states. That is a bare minimum that is fair for the killer. But this is the speed at which the survivors want to finish their objective even though it only reinforces my need as killer to tunnel.

Tunneling is 100% cause and effect. If survivors tunnel generators it forces the killer to tunnel one of them out of the game to have a chance to win. If killers play enough strong SWF teams they become conditioned to tunnel every game because it is the most viable strategy. Survivors being hit with this tunnel meta respond with "more gen rush" that reinforces the need to tunnel even more.

There is even a very simple idea to fix the problem that plagues games past "middle" MMR that will make the game way more fun for good players. I won't be typing it here today however.

I'm at a point in the game where most of the survivors in my lobby are 2,500 hour to 10,000 hours played. Most of the time I get either : 2x 2 man swf, 3x swf or 4x swf. If you look like a 3/4 man swf and have lots of items I pick a different lobby. That's just too much of an advantage to overcome unless I feel "in the mood".

When I play a game as killer one of two things happen.

    A) I tunnel one player out of the game quickly and the survivors struggle.

    B) I am unable to tunnel for some reason and then I struggle to play vs 4 people.

Generally speaking my repeating kill pattern is something like : 4k , 2k, 4k, 0k.

The games at either end of this extreme are not fun for anyone. On the left side I tunnel one player out very quickly (maybe one gen is done and I stil have a very strong 3 gen). On the right side I might only have 2 hooks so the survivors didn't even have the possibility to pip.

The 2k game is still extremely frustrating for everyone because I'm still camping slugging and tunneling. It just so happens that the outcome is close. Reasons for that include : the survivors were in a 3 man that looked like a 2 man swf because their bro logged in on xbox instead of pc, the survivors had a boon, the survivors had reassurance, the game was held on an extremely stupid/unfair map like forsaken boneyard, what I thought were 3 brown medkits were in fact purple medkits or insta heals, the surv team had a clutch deliverance/unbreakable.

The fun game is the 4k before the 0k. And even though I killed all four players (or one got out via hatch) the match was nearly completed usually several times by the remaining three survivors. To be clear here: this game isn't fun because I won. The game is fun because it's close. There were good chases, good gen pressure but in the end I had an edge because all the super annoying things from the 2k game weren't there. I will mention breifly that I do not play Nurse or Blight anymore (and return to this later).

Inside the A and B options there are also some predictable flow chart patterns.

Let's consider the A path first.

    1) If I hook a survivor and three gens pop the only way I am going to come back is if I hook the downed survivor next to a 3 gen and literally camp them to death (or stage two and immediately tunnel them down). If that happens the game just ended in my favor - but nobody knows it yet.

    2) If the tunneling process is long due to a perk/good teamplay then I might be left with 3 gens that are hard to defend. I will have to down one player (slug them) and injure at least one of the other two players and then I can potentially keep the last player off the gens. If the survivors do not have a boon active then I can still possibly win this - but just barely.

    3) If three people are alive and I have what my friend calls a "Y gen" (inverted 3 gen) then the gens are impossible to defend and I just need to down one person whenever I can and accept the 2k. The only way to come back from this is if any of the survivors become timid (want to escape and stop playing), or as killer I have strong 4v1 potential : Pinhead/Nemesis/ maybe pig on the right day.

The B path ends with three or four players escaping, Tbagging at the gate and name calling.

Question : If I win 3/4 game via tunneling then why should I do anything but tunnel?

Followup Question : Since I only seem to win something like 33% of games where I don't tunnel then why should I not tunnel?

    Note:

I don't play Blight or Nurse because I believe the game should be in a state where every killer is viable and the difference between the best and worst killer is something like 15% "chase power". To quantify that you can look at doctor and sometimes with perfect play a doctor needs 5 or 6 shocks to get a m1 hit. With nurse you just blink twice and if your range was correct then you cannot miss.

The difference between those two killers in terms of lethality in a chase is close to 55% at my estimation in terms of effectiveness. That number is my opinion and completely arbitrary but you get the point. If we had a machine perfect killer that had wallacks and 0 ping you could see even with perfection the doctor would look terrible by comparison.

The only time I would have a chance at winning the 0k game is if I played Nurse or Blight every game. And in all the other scenarios I would not need to tunnel to win. But if I did tunnel with Blight/Nurse the game would be a complete joke (as can be seen by people who wanted to get 100-200-500 nurse game wins in a row).

Well if you want to have every game sweaty and not fun you should. But if you want easier games and play for fun and go for multiple hooks you will lose a lot but eventually it gets better as your mmr drops at least try this sometimes. Then when you feel you're good mmr range go for 2-3 kill and aim 10-11 hooks games will be more fun and you don't face gen rushing sweaty swf every game. That is what im going to do I got too high mmr while I won 30 games a row with wraith now though without camping. If you want to tunnel and sweat every game that is fine but then you also face teams who rush gens as fast as possible.

Half of what people say is entitlement is not.

Example, I made a post earlier expressing my frustrations about how killers have been jerks to me all day. I was trying to do the Outbreak Breakout achievement, I changed my name toe Read My Bio and explained what I was trying to do. Killers would read the bio, and then proceed to tunnel and camp me out. They knew I was going for an achievement, and they decided to be rude. Now, they dont have to help me thats not the issue. The issue is that they deliberately went out of their way to make it harder on me. I made a post about it and some one said I was entitled. I dont see how expressing my frustration is entitlement.

And I am sick and tired of this community attacking one another for their opinions and beliefs. Never have I seen a community so divided. Its time some one stands up for those simply just expressing their opinions and frustration.

Tunneling is not cool. Yes, a strategy, that doesnt mean its fun or right. Camping is boring. I mean just imagine sitting on a hook for two minutes. Everyone says all the time the most fun part of the game is the chases between killer and survivor, how are you gonna get chases if your being camped? Everyone wants to say that if you DC then you ruin the fun for everyone else, yet will sit here and defend camping and tunneling. How is that fun? One survivor sits on hook while the other 3 do gens, if they are smart. Everyone says that doing gens are boring. Just because some one DCs because they dont want to go against a camping tunneling killer, does not make them entitled. They have every right to have fun as anyone else and if they dont like something, they dont have to go through it.

"Oh, but when you DC you ruin it for everyone else." OK, so I am supposed to ruin my experience at the expense of your experience? How is that fair? If people want to camp and tunnel, thats fine, thats their choice. If people want to DC and go next, that is also their choice.

And just because you got lucky with map RNG and ran to a pallet and pre threw it a hundred times doesnt mean youre good. No one loops anymore, they just hold w to the next pallet. To no fault of their own, look at the new maps that keep coming out they were designed that way.

Its time for us as a community to stop invalidating the experiences and feelings of others. Let them be mad upset happy angry whatever. Because we as a community dont care about the choices that people make in game, and we will defend those choices, but we sure as hell care when they express their feelings.

And its not right. "Its just a game" Yeah maybe to some people it is. But to others its not. I lost my mother to COVID last year and this game is the only thing that helped me through because it was my escape from life. It was and is more than a game to me. And I reserve the right to express my feelings and opinions on it if I so choose to.

And I know that people are going to comment saying that no one is stopping you from expressing your feelings, well maybe not you but as a community you are. I myself and my friends do not feel safe expressing that we dont like the way some one played for fear of the division it creates. Just because we didnt like the way they played, doesnt make us entitled. We just didnt like how they played. It shouldnt be this way for something thats "just a game." And yes, there are some entitled people out there that are entitled, most people are just tired of not being able to express their opinion.

Yes if you dc that ruin's it for team and gives killer free tunnel and win usually. So survivors who does this reward killer if they would try their team could have chance so never give up. Killers will just tunnel even more because of that. And if you get lucky you might even make it out that gets those killers very mad.

It basicly depends where you hit the DS. If there's a save pallet near (remember, you get like 15-20m distance after the stun), DS can be still strong. Windows really helps here.

Nurse has over 50% and dc are exluded from stats so that's not really telling the truth. My soloQ teammates dc usually when they hear scream or get hooked fast. People just give up and dc agains't her more than any other killer.

Personally I think information perks at basekit would still buff SWFs. It's hard to make callouts in VC on dbd. Unless they are near an obvious feature like main building or killer shack. Aura reading would be a huge boon to SWFs that they really don't need.

You are on the mark though. Solo q is god awful and needs a buff that will not benefit SWFs. My personal suggestion is add in game VC. It would helps SWFs a fair bit and go some of the way to helping them co-ordinate a little better.

The arguments against it are pretty weak. People claim it will have a toxicity problem. (You know, like every game that has VC ever) well that is why there are mute block and avoid functions. And BHVR have said the game is not balanced around VC. Well SWFs get VC anyway, more so, now that discord is directly usable on the xbox and will be soon on the ps4. So it would be best to add it then adapt the balance for voice chat. The game can be a very fun social experience.

But atm it sucks for solo q. Especially at low mmrs. Killer is so much easier to play and new killers will always shred new survivors.

Edit: perhaps information basekits could be applied only to survivors that are not in a group. Should be easy enough to do.

Everyone having those obsession things would help soloQ survivors a lot and basekit kindred without killer aura eould be good too. Sure even bad swf can call out who goes for save and who is doing gen.

VFeng I play them equally. Survivor is so easy now it’s to the point it’s boring at times and not a challenge. I’d say I can 2 pip most games and I usually always get 1 pip. The games I don’t survive are the games killers camp and tunnel. I’ll have a killer chasing me for 3 gens before they break chase. Survivors have too many outs now. Regardless of what strategy I use as a survivor my end result is usually the same but my end result as killer is tied to many things I have no control over at all. I honestly feel SWF and party chats ruined the immersion that DBD is supposed to have. Party chat should be disabled while in a match because all you have to do is tell your friend across the giant map the killer is coming their way and they go and hide and vice versa. There are certain things not including perks that give survivors the slightest time advantage; one example is a survivor can tap a regressing generator in a split second and a killer has to do a full on animation. The seconds at the higher tiers count a lot.

If you play 4 man swf with friends in discord ofcourse it's easy. But that's not how most play and most don't even know what looping is. If we balance game that every survivor can loop well it will kill soloQ which is already very easy for killer. I went for 30 wins streak with wraith without tunneling or camping until endgame and majority matches were agains't soloQ.

We should incentivize going for fresh hooks more.

Give a basekit BBQ aura whenever you hook a Survivor different from the last. Likewise, give a mini-PGTW. Make it 15%. Give the Killer 10% Haste until a chase starts. Now you know where to go and you have reason to go there.

It will be interesting to see if people tunnel less or tunnel more/the same. I'm of the opinion that they'll probably not tunnel less and that we need to use the stick, not the carrot, but maybe we start out with this?

Current ds could be made basekit for survivors too. So do both give carrot and stick.

  • He is pretty strong but those perks itself are more problem. Eruption could use nerf and overcharge skill check is still pretty hard to hit with controller and it's too easy with mouse. Wraith is underrated by many he has good mobility which allows good map control and gen defence. Also you can get people injured pretty fast with him. Good swf are problem for him but they are for any killer who is not decent nurse or blight. For me wraith is most consistent killer to get 4K.

To start this. Camping and tunneling sucks for the game experience of the survivor. That's a fact. It's also a fact that there are time where it is the right call to camp or tunnel.

So I think most of us can agree on that we want camping and tunneling to be as little as possible. Bhvr could do that. Bhvr could make it less effective so you almost always loose when you do it and that it's only the right call in certain situations.

But and here starts the stuff many people don't want to hear. But that would mean either buffs to killer or nerfs to survivor.

If we take really toxic 5 Gen camping and brutal tunneling where you ignore the others even if you could easily get others on the hook aside it's you often feel like it's the only right call to camp or tunnel.

I want to focus more on tunneling since I think camping is a bad call most of the time aside from endgame. Tunneling is crazy effective and there could be made the point that it is to effective. It feels very bad for the survivor that get tunneld and many survivor tent to say killer that do it are lazy or do it to be toxic and I certainly won't deny that those players exist.

What I want to point out is that since bhvr atm does nothing about it the game now is kinda balanced with tunneling in it. If we would take it out doesn't matter how but let's say it's gone tomorrow Kill rates would drop significantly and not because killers are lazy and don't know how to play but because many rely on it since for most killer a typical game Beginns like this.

You search the first survivor start the chase and since there are still all pallets on the map you most of the time get the down when the first two or even three gens pop. So now you are at a point where if the survivor don't screw up it goes down hill. One is on hook one gets chased one rescues one does a Gen. by the time you get the second hook the first is saved and the fourth gen is probably almost done rince and repeat you are probably at three or four hooks by the time gates are powered.

Oke I know I know this scenario expects the survivor to don't do things like two people go for unhook but what I wanted to show with this is its nothing the killer influences. If the survivor don't screw up that's how it goes. And when bhvr finally gives solo q what they deserve and gives them more info so they don't screw up this will happen even more.

So the killer tunnels because the chances to get a kill that way is higher the game gets better to manage with one less survivor.

I thin when bhvr finally addresses tunneling and camping and helps solo q survivor should not be surprised to either see big killer buffs/survivor nerfs or since it's bhvr don't see them for a year and see q times up to 20 min

To end this I want to say it again. I don't want to defend hard tunneling and facecamping in any way all I want to say is since bhvr don't do anything about it for so long it now is part of the balance.

What are your opinions about it

Tunneling is way too powerful I was just super tunneled by legion and he had full chase built my first chase was good though and 2 gens got done. 3rd got done in second chase which I could last bit longer but I looped him bad side of the map so that my team would do gens. Last chase I brought him as far away from gens 4th gen got done and 5th they got halfway done when I died. But as 3vs1 is so killer sided he easily regressed that gen and started to get fast downs and tunneled another out survivors were not able to keep up and he got 4K.

On this particular case, all the survivors need to do is push gens and leave. At most the Bubba would get two kills if another survivor makes a critical mistake.

Or they can throw and try to unhook.

Bubba will be quaranteed 2K if survivors don't manage to rescue which is very difficult and usually leads to their death. I know this very well...

1, legion is BY FAR not one of strongest (but I agree wesker is). He is somewhere in the middle

2, yes kill rate is what matters.

3, wesker was 11 hooks (last person had 1 hook before he died). As for legion, I don't remember, so I can only guess. That guess would be 9 hooks. Might have been more or might have been less. Still 0 camp or tunnel.

4, so what does it mean if killer gets 4k on 4 hooks? Does it mean he slugged everyone? Or does it mean he camped everyone to death? I could make a guess depending on killer, but I could always be wrong. And if you can't get it right. What kind of information would those statistics bring? And how would you know - what should be done about it? Does condemn onrio camp or slug? Should she be buffed or nerfed (only by this metrics).

5, how does basekit pop in any way lesser tunneling? I can't think of ANY reason why it should. Not a single one. Tunneling + pop basekit is as strong as tunneling where pop does not exist.

What if that basekit would go off ones you kill first survivor. Killers need some help for 4vs1 but for 3vs1 nope.

  • The pallet on dh actually has counter baiting it out. If they use it at pallet expecting you to hit just wait that the endurance is over and hit them while they're locked in the animation. They usually drop the pallet still but you get hit through it. So it's not uncounterable but the counter is not easy and you have to quess when they're going to use it.

  • I have noticed purple medkits and flaslights are very rare. But other than that I do find items in my bloodwebs normally.

  • I don't have idea how they're broken again but it's so annoying to earn lot less bp each match than you should.

I can't remember the last time I went up against a friendly killer or one that wasn't thirsty.

I went today agains't one or so I though but then he had noed and bloodwarden at the end so he was just faking it.

    Depends on my mood.

Most of the time I'm fine letting everyone go if I get them to death hook, as I care more about BPs than gaining MMR. I like my games chill, thanks, bare the occasional challenge that requires me to kill people.

Some times tho I'm obliterating anything remotely on my path. No second chances, no repartition of the hooked ones, no fooling around. I'm here to kill and kill I shall.

I can even be extremely sadistic sometimes, nurtuting hope just to slice it abruptly. Best example is carrying the last one to the hatch, then closing it in front of him, then joking around and carrying them to the gates to let them open it, until they get blocked by No Way Out, and then I down and kill them.

As Amanda said, "No excuses, No equivocation, No crying".

But those are extremely rare instance. And now I have bots I can torture instead. It's better for everyone.

That is too cruel you're taking it too far. Just kill everyone as fast possible and camp/tunnel.

Nurse is fine the only really difference is that it's much easier to track players during the fatigue on PC. Blight takes much more practice, but it's doable.

Any killer that you aim with Deathslinger, Trickster, Pinhead, Huntress is really just a pain. I mean you can get pretty decent but you basically have to spend a lot of time practicing and really have to keep playing them to keep that muscle memory up. It's really easy to lose any kind of gains you've made on ranged killers if you take extended breaks I find.

I just wish that would add keyboard and mouse support. I really feel like I'm missing out on killers that I would actually enjoy playing, but can't because it's so gimped on console. Like I have DBD on my laptop and I actually really enjoyed playing Trickster, Deathslinger and huntress, which is something I really can't say about console. It's just frustrating even when you do get semi decent at it.

Console also had some weird sync s**t going on when playing cross platform. On PC the hit registration feels so much better.

Between console and pc nurse biggest difference is the swing. Survivors can easily spin console nurse and autoaim makes you hit bushes or something else too. Pc nurses also get lot more bs hits too.

The game really shouldn't give Survivors more information than the Killer.

It should killer is too powerful agains't soloQ so that's need to be balanced. And swf already has way more information than killer. Also if the information would make soloQ too good which I doubt killers should get buffs and that would nerf power of swf. Slower killers should get some mobility at least.

    The game have balance issues.

When the game gets balanced around fast killers, slow killers are often forced to use scummy tactics just to get the kills (not always tho) but it seems that a lof of the perks put into the game lately are rushing gen repairs to a point that often (not always) 1-2 gens will pop as the first guy gets hooked, if it is a slow killer.

    • Then the killer have 3-3½ gens to get 5 more hook states (including finding survivors and chasing them) just to get a draw.

This can feel overwhelming, and with all the alturisim in the game, camping is an easy way to secure this with less stress.

That beeing said, there will always be people around that will do stuff like that, but it have become more and more since the gens started flying faster and faster.

If one gen pop during chase that not overwhelming that's normal. But 2 gens might make me use stragedies I usually still try to play normally. But if 3 gens pop I just tunnel. My goal is to get 9 hooks every game and ideally 3-4K. I can live with 2K occasionally though.

  • Yeah latency is problem you have to press it bit early but not too early though. Try to use it at pallets most killers just swing.

  • Yup and "same button" you also heal teammates and fix gens.

  • I don't know if you can ever fully get over with it. I still fear or nervous bit playing killer mainly because I want to win. Part of it definetely is also that it's 1vs4 your solo vs 4 man team. It's harder and more stressful role. Important is to accept you can't win every game.

Well as survivor I don't try to win all the time but just to get as much of bp I can. It's 4 man team so I can't control my teammates and can just think if I would have better team we would won. But it does hurt when I loop killer very extended times and my team still can't get gens done which are easiest thing to do in this game.

The "bait it out" argument has been done to death and it's faulty. It's the same as other situations where the killer can't make the right play unless the survivor first makes the mistake. And if they don't make the mistake? Killer can't do anything.

This clip perfectly describes this situation: https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxl_MQTl13L8WkXOg_JC04_-HoiGf-CZB_

Not even going into how dumb it is that the killer has to withhold their attack when in range.

Baiting it out works usually I mostly gets dh:t when I don't do that. At pallet if your in right position and they expect you to lunge wait before hitting when they use dh cause the endurance only last 0,5s but the animation last 1s so if you lunge at right time you get them down.

Okay, Im just going to say it, the Killer's objective is hooks, the Survivor's objective is generators. Killers should be expected to get 2 Kills; or a better metric of 6 Hooks. Survivors should be expected to complete 5 generators.

Kills are the main objective for killers, hooks are sub-objectives that lead to the main objective. Devs literally balance the game for kills.

You can play the worst match of Killer you have ever played, get 3 Hooks, and still leave a match with a 3K. You can play the best match of Killer you have ever played and still leave a match with 8 Hooks but a 0K. Kills do not matter at all. Some of my most fun matches of Killers are ones where I perform well and Survivors also perform well.

That is why devs have taken a stance and are balancing for kills now instead of both hooks/kills. Whether it's the right decision, time will tell. I don't think you can balance for kills and hooks at the same time.

Some of my most fun matches of Killers are ones where I perform well and Survivors also perform well.

Some of my MOST UNFUN matches where I perform well, and survivors are performing badly, and I get 1k at tops. You'd ideally want a fair game where the result is directly related to how each side has done in skilful areas, but often more than not, it is not (applies to both sides)

Tunneling and Camping are good at building pressure, but they suck if you want to improve. If you want to actively get better at the game, and have more fun as a result of improvement, making sure everyone else has a fun and fair matches. Go for unique survivors. Go for more hooks. Otherwise you are directly shooting yourself in the foot.

You can easily hit the skill cap of improvement on a lot of killers where you barely can get any better or make better decisions that influence the game. A lot of killer's powers are relatively simple and so is the gameplay loop of killer vs survivor. You can have 10k hours on Wraith, but it's very likely that there will be Wraiths with 1k hours who are nearly as good as you are. Additionally, there are plenty of things in the game that has no counterplay from the killer side, and as such, you "cannot improve" yourself in those areas.

What you can definitely improve with time is strategy and reading the game as a killer. Knowing when to tunnel, dropping chase, prioritizing weak targets etc. And what do you mean you can't get better at the game while tunnelling? You can still chase the other 3 survivors and learn how to down them quickly. You can still learn how to pressure gens. You can still get better at map control. The only time you don't learn anything is when you literally face camp a survivor. In all other ways, you're improving one way or another.

And if you think that what I am saying is a load of crap, allow me to just say, I use to be stuck in that cycle. I use to think that Tunneling and Camping were fine, so I tunneled one person out, and camped for my other Kills. I got stuck in this mindset that it was all I need to do to win. And I was not having fun with the game, and I blamed the game for it when really it was just my fault the whole time. You can go through my older posts and maybe even see how I felt about it.

You can tunnel and camp and still have fun at the game. Mostly comes down when you are not doing it hardcore way, but are adjusting your gameplay as the game progresses. If you just camp and tunnel every survivor, then obviously the game will be boring to you.

And well, tunnelling and camping are not fun - I can agree. But what is even more NOT FUN is playing well, getting 8 hooks and 1/0 kills and most survivors escaping even though they did nothing skilful. I'd take opportunistic tunnelling and camping over that any day. It's lesser of an "unfun" from my point of view.

Your mistake going for that 8 hooks before finishing anyone off. You should aim something in middle. For example hook survivor A then B then A then C then A again now you got one survivor out only with 5 hooks without tunneling or camping. If you go for 8 hooks you have to accept you don't maybe get 4K. But I still take that over tunneling or camping it's much more fun and skillful unless I want my kill stats to look better and most likely reward you with pip. Whereas camping can even cause depip even if you get 3-4K. But anyway when im loading into a game it says killer main objective is to hook survivors.

  • Cannibal I can always facecamp what's more fun... But my longest losing streak has been like 3 games getting only 1-2K recently with him so not not very long.
