If a solo survivor can get to rank 1 I'm sure a killer that chooses not to tunnel can also get to rank 1.

The thing is you have to play 5 hours a day to get there as solo survivor and not many has time for that. I was just about to reach red grades as solo survivor but other solo teamed with killer to kill me so yeah not much to do that game and then next game tunneling blight that is actually killer who can win without tunneling and he was given lot of free downs but just wanted me quess I deserved it. But I still hate depipping both sides I wish those would happened after pipping game. Yesterday at least my killer games where better that I didn't have to tunnel even playing weaker killers. But just removing depips from both sides would make this game much better experience. Didn't devs said grades just show how much you play or are they supposed to show skill expression? I should not care about reaching red grades too much but they feel like goal that you have to reach. On good day I earn 1 million bp and grade reward is 2 million so it's not end of world that I don't reach it but I just have too bad obsession to reach it.

I have my reservations about this, but it is information that SWF have. I haven't seen this in game yet, obviously, but my only concern is that the information SWF give about generator progress tends to be less precise than something like the recovery wheel, so it may need to be scaled back...

But, y'know, any solo queue fix is going to make solo queue stronger, that's the entire point. It's not "survivor sided" to acknowledge and act on the fact that solo queue players lack information.

I can call out pretty easily my exact gen proggress 50%, 70% or 90% done etc. So it's fine now justbweaker killers need to be buffed but tunneling also needs to be nerfed .

  • Ds stun is lot shorter and not many people use it. Also killer perks support tunneling more than before so it's more viable strat than before.

  • Same for me I could not play either role it keeps also saying: connection with host could not be established, please try again.

  • @Chaos999 said:

    You can. It's called smurfing.

Though it usually takes a whole bunch of 4 escapes to get 1 or 2 easy matches if you 4k again.

Definitely not worth it for the large majority of regular players, I believe.

But what if you go for 2K after losing many games should that keep your mmr lowered.

That's not what you should read from that.

What you should read is the matchmaking in this game is terrible and always has been and should be fixed.

Well yeah but they're not probably going to do that. I face sweaty survivors when I play wraith but when I play spirit with mother daugter ring and dried cherry blossom, I face more casual survivors. And when I play soloQ agains't blight I only get casual survivor teammates and even decent ones usually can't do much agains't him.

  • @Reinami said:

Given that the MMR cap for matchmaking is 1600 , and when it wasn't it literally took top players hours to find a single match, this will never happen.

So that's why he needs to be nerfed so casuals can have chance agains't him. At very least his tunneling ability should be nerfed.

  • @HugTechLover said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3333094#Comment_3333094

That’s false lol. D3ad plays tunnels all the time if he needs pressure / somebody out of the game, and he’s one of the best killers on the game.

There is literally nothing wrong with tunneling. It’s completely valid and EXTREMELY effective when you need it to be.

If dbd us supposed to be miserable experience for that survivor I agree but if it's supposed to be fun game then I disagree but killers will need buffs to compensate as tunneling carries most so I quess kill rates would go down to below 50%. And it would become miserable experience for killers.

  • I don't think that's good idea solution should be to nerf tunneling maybe with ds basekit which would disable killer power for 10s and probably rework eruption as now it only supports tunneling. Also probably survivor should receive longer speed buff and be 110% speed for 30s after unhook. But then killers will need buffs to compensate as kill rates would drop as that strat carries most killers and at higher level is not just possible to win without it unless you play nurse and blight well and even they still tunnel as it's most effient thing to do even if they don't need to. So give killers basekit pop, speed boost after hook and corrupt invertion at least to bit slow down games. Also every killers should be buffed accordingly. Myers need his stalk mechanic updated and tier 3 to be more threatening. Oni needs bigger lunge and should have dash ability without power etc...

  • @foods said:

2/30 killers in dbd are viable vs teams of 4 good survivors but its definitely the killers that are the problem

Not every game is agains't 4 good survivors. But if they could put decent/good blights only agains't those top teams then he could be more balanced. Only casual/console blights should be able to play agains't casual/average survivors.

  • @Tsulan said:

If people would stop disconnecting and suiciding, the kill rates would be lower.

    Much lower...

Dc:s are exluded from kill rates but if survivors would just do gens then they would be lower instead giving up. Survivors usually throw when killer tunnel/camps even when there is 1 gen left to do. They try to save that one survivor so badly that they all go down. Then there are teammates who just find totems to cleanse whole match. I ran console 81 prestige blight today 3 minutes and only 2,5 gens got done because both claudettes where too busy to bless totems. Well we lost that game at 2 gens left as blight downed them like flies. I wish I would face survivors like them if I ever commit to someone that long all gens get done. Even once 4 gens got done just in one minute when I tunneled wrong person with otr, ds, dh and adrealine. She was only one not hooked twice in that game.

  • @HugTechLover said:

    *Laughs in blight*

Blight is reason why dh can never be nerfed.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

The entire existence of camping and tunneling is holding back weaker Killers imo. It inflates Killrates which leads to them being seen as "fine" or "in a good position"; unfortunately, the only way to fix this would be to overhaul the game mechanics to prevent camping and tunneling, which would me Survivors stronger, and also make a lot of Killer mains just quit the game if it happened (a lot of people will be upset that they cant facecamp and remove that one teabagging Feng in one match and just quit).

They don't have to prevent them just nerf then that other tactics become clearly more viable. Hook timer should increase if killer camps in close range and hook graps should be removed. Bubba and huntress would still keep their strong camping abilities but they would get only that one kill with that strat. Survivors also need more mechanics to help if they're tunneled. Then killers could get buffs to help them win with other strats. Survivors probably should also get secondary objectives to find part for gens etc...

  • @squbax said:

No, because the majority of the playerbase is incredibly bad at the game, the last stats showed how much people die to meme killers like sadako and freddy, so as long as they have a high killrate why change them? They are performing fine.

Im just facing survivors who can loop decently and if some can't they just do gens very effiently. I think most survivors have gotten better I used to have 80% kill rate around august-october. But now im not sure if I have even 40%. Well I try to see where are these bad survivors if my mmr goes ever down. Even if I can win some games I let at least 2 survivors escape. But im not sure if it's right decision as after that I face even better survivors. Maybe I should take wins when I can. Killers need another buff and survivors need antitunneling buff. Then game could be properly balanced around hooks not kills. I think balanced match would be killer getting 7-9 hooks on average.

EAC detects changes in the gamefiles, advantage or not.

My cousin edited our secondary/visitor pc dbd account gamefiles to uncap fps so that could get you banned?

  • I fear playing all killers either they're not good enough and have some weaknesses or im not good with the killer. Im even scared playing spirit with mother daughter ring and dried cherryl blossom add ons. Players like me need 2 killer mode so you don't have to play alone agains't 4 man team. I have always disliked solo multiplayer games too where you fight equal opponent. I almost never have played solo in fortnite.

If 90 second gens are still bad how did we ever cope with 80 second gens...

Survivors were not as effient back then and did other things but as gen speed were reduced survivors learned to just stick on them and they also got perks which make gens lot faster and use them now often. So gens are actually usually done faster.

I feel bad for people who main survivors that don't get a lot of new stuff.

Feng does not have any christmas cosmetics she was totally ignored and many other survivors got one last christmas.

That and Eruption. These perk changes can't come soon enough but probably won't happen until the next chapter in like 3 months. What a shame.

Eruption is like old dh. It barely has counter if you're solo player. Dead hard is usually possible to bait out.

  • Pain res is like killers dead hard you have to always expect it and let go off gen and wait before it hits.

  • @Xyphus said:

The only problem I have with Blight is that there are too many and I barely see other killers..

Despite this I wish every Killer would be kinda on his level of strength

I think most killer should be around Oni streng once he gets first hit. He is actually balanced and fun killer to face. But he could use buff to get that hit faster. He should have bigger lunge and 120% movement speed without the power. This would nerf mostly good survivors as agains't casuals you get that first hit quickly. I think his power shows most skill from both sides whereas blight if you know how to use him you get hit and there is nothing survivor can do.

I agree with you it's the most optimal way and way to win most.

But that is bad design. Tunneling is one of things that make people like the game less (together with camping and guarding 3gens and never commiting to chase). Balancing the game around cheap/unfun tactics is fundamentally wrong. It's the direct equivalent of bully squads being most optimal tactics to win the game.

Old pop goes to weasel motivated killers to leave hook and to chase another survivor. Old ds also made tunneling more rare as most killers respected it and it actually made tunneling less effient but now as those are gone what is reason not to tunnel and not to make the optimal play... Well you can win other way which would be more fun for everyone but it's just harder. I do try to win hard way usually getting 6-8 hooks before finishing someone off but when it backfires and 3-4 people escape next game im going to do the optimal play. What I find good strat is to target one survivor but chase and hook others too if you can. But then eliminate targeted survivor when you have 4-5 hooks overall. It's maybe bit less effient than tunneling but not by much and there are actually less risks. But still with that strat you will take one survivor out pretty early too.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

De-pipping should be removed altogether for both killers and survivors. The devs have said repeatedly that grades are an indicator of time played during that month. Your time played can't go backwards. Grades are not ranks, they're not used for matchmaking. You can't gain a pip unless you participate in the match. Losing pips just makes bad matches so much more miserable, like the match itself wasn't miserable enough on its own.

Pipping up is something that players should feel encouraged to do, but after a couple months of going to the trouble to reach iri I said "screw this." It's not fun, and it's not rewarding enough to be worth the absolute frustration of it. De-pipping has actually de-incentivized me from playing at all sometimes because I'll be one pip away from the next grade and so two weeks later I'll still have not touched the game because the apprehension of losing pips outweighs the fun factor of DbD. Even though I try to ignore pips as much as possible now, they can still cause me to stop playing DbD for long stretches because I'd rather be one pip away from the next grade but not reach it than risk losing all the pips. It's a weird psychological thing, I guess.

I agree but for now just best thing we can do is not to care about pipping. Because it takes all the fun away from the game like I should not feel miserable as killer when I get 3K but not getting that last pip to reach gold grades and then nextstch depip to feel even worser. As survivor I have managed to not think about it too much but when I see im close hitting new grade I do care and it's miserable to fail.

  • @Mr_K said:

You can get a kill simply staying next to a hook.

    Looking at you Bubba.

Well killer does at least one chase in that match and good survivors can pull of trades so it takes some work to secure that kill unless you get the survivor in basement. Still you have to do another chase to get 2K.

You still can even depip with bubba if you down survivors too fast with the chainsaw in chases... That's what happened to me I did multiple chases and got 2K which should definetely be enough to safety pip.

Idk I only face those very sweaty ones even I die most my games so I should be in low mmr facing casual killers? I faced just one average blight today he was actually fun to play agains't my teammates went down to him in less than 20s but he chased me minutes. He did land his rushes well though but was mindgaming and trying some weird ones bit too much.

Disagree there. Like wesker is pretty balanced and I think there are many more killers that need adjustments before him (blight's addons being one of those examples), but if I really had to pick 1 thing that needs to be fixed about wesker, then I would say it's his tunnel potential.

As a survivor (especially if wesker takes infection addons) once hooked, it's too easy to proxy camp, hit right after unhook (to proc more infection) and then just chase with guarantee of not a very long chase - because infection will do it's work. Even disregarding this - once somebody is unhooked and infected, he will need to go for an injection very quickly. And once he uses it, there's another beacon telling the killer "Tunnel me". I think this is not a good design. Everything else about him (even those hits which are sometimes really funky - for both sides - like as wesker I hate it how you bounce away from pallet/window just because someone was using it some time before and for survivor how he can sometimes pull you back from the other side of window - they are less of a problem then this).

Well maybe it's intended I feel game balance is directed towards tunneling I use that tactics now more than before I go kick gen with eruption and return to hook tunnel unhooked injured survivor that just best way to get value from it. It's not worth to go after healthy survivor unless I get hit on someone before kicking that gen. Only my morale is what stopping me from tunneling most games...

I don't see those add-ons as particularly useful when it's so hard even to get a hit using Blight's Lethal Rush. Of course, this is my opinion, and no one has to agree.

You play on controller? With keyboard and mouse he is much much easier. It does not take that much to skill do fine with him. At least I never see bad blight everyone plays him well and he is most common killer by far so even lot of casuals play him. But never ever I see console blight as with controller he is actually very hard and you can't use hug tech with him and survivors will spin your every hit.

  • I would be fine with 2 killers vs 4 survivors too but would need lot of balancing. The new texas chainsaw game will have what 3 killers vs 4 survivors.

  • You want 10-12 survivors? Let's just put 2 or 3 killers then there too otherwise that would be total waste playing killer alone agains't that many survivors and it definetely should be another game mode.

No it didn't ds basekit would fix it.

You call a 1 sec wiggle timer decrease, 1 second that was there to test the new wiggle system and thus going to be removed anyway, a buff? You cannot be serious? That is not a buff... That is testing over, no longer required thus removed.

It was year in game pretty long time to test and it did affect many of my games. So far not single survivor has wiggled out and it's easy to get survivors on hook even if they saboing hooks so it's a buff.

  • My highest killer prestige level is 13 so it will get while to get one to 100... I have not decided either if I will prestige anyone that many times as currently Demodog, Oni, Bubba and Nemesis are tied with prestige 13 and few others at P12. I don't really have main killer and I just play/update them all though im hoping they add new S tier killer who would not be so hard to use on controller. I love Oni but some swf teams can destroy you so badly that you want to stop playing. (Only being A tier killer) I hope he gets buffed and he is bit limited on controller. Survivors however I have feng ming prestige 60 and will get her to P100. After that I will focus getting every killer more iri and other good add ons. I want to have good storage.

Many Nurse players also show a lot of respect if you can run them well. I've almost never seen that from a Blight player. I once had a match where one instantly DC'd and I run the Nurse for 3 gens until she gave up. She still won because the other two went down fast but she seemed so impressed by my performance that she gave me hatch.

Blight players are usually most sweaty all they care about is their 4K. Even matchmaking seems to expect that as I tried to play blight after months and I got faced agains't most sweatiest survivors in a long time.

The game you are looking for is Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It will be 4 survivors vs 3 killers. Both sides will be using voice coms so that won't be a balance concern. It is also being made by the people who made F13 (this time without all the pesky lawsuits).

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328148#Comment_3328148

-"There is nothing wrong with the UI update. It won't magically make all Survivors Seal Team 6 Killer stompers."

The hud change makes good survivors play more efficiently. This is a problem because efficient play already ruins the killer experience and this update made it worse. The hud changes might have been fair if the information was shown to everyone. Why do the survivors get to see hook stages and the killer doesn't? That's not fair. That hud was a lot better balancd when everyone had the same info for both sides.

Fundamentally speaking DBD is only a fair game if one side doesn't know what to do at any given moment. SWF is broken because you can tell each other what the killer is doing and what important tasks are almost finished or need attention. Think about it like this : the killer plays alone and has perfect unity. The survivors are not supposed to share information and as a result they play in limited unity. The second you combine DBD with voice coms you get survivors working in near perfect unison and it destroys any semblance of balance.

In the past two groups of 2 man SWF teams had no idea what the other team was doing. That made it bearable.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328175#Comment_3328175

The killer incentive in my region has already been sitting at 100% for almost 24/7 for weeks - with the exception of mornings when survivors try their hand at killer when their SWF is offline.

Something like 1/10 players really enjoys playing killer enough to repeatedly play it AND be good at it. People need to remember that before the 6.0 patch it was a regular thing to have ~45 killers in the queue with 5000 survivors. We know this because people were collecting data and pinging the DBD servers.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328231#Comment_3328231

Sorry but that's just False. Pop was by far the strongest and most used killer perk and it was obliterated. Why? Because only Premium killer perks (like Eruption) will be good from now on. Did you notice that more than one year later 2/3 of Pinhead's perks have not appeared in the shrine? That's because Deadlock is too good to let people use "for free".

The 6.0 patch should have just given killers Save the Best for last base kit since Survivors got free Borrowed time. Alternatively it should have given killers Deadlock base kit. Keep the perk exactly as it is and make it extend the timer by 30 seconds. Add rollback protection so that if two gens are completed the second is "rolled back" and returned to a 99% while blocked. They can rollback hits at pallets so they can rollback synchronized gen completion.

Fundamentally speaking the 6.0 patch made killer better vs solo survivors and weaker vs SWF teams due to instant gen regression perks getting nerfed. Also DH didn't really get nerfed as it is sometimes better and sometimes worse than before. It still has too high usage (and probably needs to double your healing rate as it gives you a 3rd health state).

It's time to add 2vs8 mode in dbd or players will move to that game to play killer with friends. I will play much less dbd ones it comes out.

  • Killers actually got one buff in this patch. It's harder to wiggle out for survivors noticed this in few games where survivors would wiggled off from me but with the nerf to wiggle I got them on hooks.

I will sometimes wait up to 4 seconds and they still seem to "guess" right. It's .....strange.

Well if you suspect someone has auto dh purposelly miss the hit and see if they still dh. Otzdarva did that and caught that way someone using it. Or try to wait longer...

  • For me it has been 100% last 6 months survivor on day time and mostly evening too but at evening I have enjoyed it being 100% for killer in few matches. Only on weekends it has been for killer in evenings whole time. But recently it has started to be whole evening on killer last few weeks at least no matter the day. And last few days it's even at day time lot on killer. It's still midday and early afternoon on survivor but today it was only 25% for me. Probably casual killers has left the game. It feels that most matches are lot sweater no matter what side you play. Killer tunnel at 5 gens more and more. Survivors play more sweaty swf and rush gens.

  • If one survivor is hooked again and again killer ignoring others usually only killer goes to kick gens to get eruption working and then returning to hook. That's my definion of tunneling. But if killer has hooked multiple survivor but decides to take someone out who is on struggle hook when 1-2 gen left that's not tunneling. If someone is unhooked instantly after you turn your back that is not tunneling either only if you go after them again after that then maybe it is. Or at least those cases makes tunneling perfectly fair.

  • BHVR though and let it be there full year no-one complained about it. That 1 sec gave survivors reason to try hit those great skill checks.

In the end, tunneling is just a play style, and if players can’t handle losing to a very frowned upon play style, then don’t know what to tell them. (Not directing this towards you)

It's most unfun playstyle for that survivor to experience and very unhealthy for game to happen at 5 gens. Survivor should have strong mechanic to protect from it which would make other playstyle more viable. Many killers has to set their own rules when to use it to make it fair and justified. Though that was more in the past usually games are tunneling right at the start now. Many perks and changes just now encourage to tunnel/camp right at the start well that would be okay if the game is supposed to be miserable experience but if it suppose to be fun then that is exactly opposite. I think tunneling should be made very punishing but killers should be rewarded going for another survivor. Every killer should get big speed boost after hooking survivor and downing another survivor should automatically regress ramdom gen by 25%. Corrupt and BBQ should be basekit.

    The two are unrelated.

Here's the thing about Eruption...and why I can tell already that I'm going to be annoyed here.

Eruption is a meh perk against SWFs and a nightmare scenario for solos.

What should happen: the perk reworked into something that's universally good against both, but not as oppressive for solos.

What will happen: take a look at Thana. Or Ruin. Or Overcharge. Or Pop.

Killers won't get anything in return, because that's...never how it works.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328325#Comment_3328325

    It doesn't though.

    It needs to be reworked.

Dead Hard is...probably a bit strong too, but with how long it was left at a 70-80% pick rate, I doubt it's ever going to be adjusted at a 30% pick rate.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328317#Comment_3328317

It really wasn't though. In some situations, DH is even stronger than it was before. The DH 'nerf' was a bit of a paper tiger, all told.

I disagree dh was much better before nerf it was easy to use press E for distance. Now it requires killer to make mistake and survivor has to use it perfectly. Skill level overall has probably just increased now which can make it seem stronger.

I maintain the policy of tunnelling is a fair strat if there is less gens remaining than survivors alive.

For me that debends how many hooks I have if only 1 hook and 2 gens done quickly tunneling is way to go usually or at least one is targeted. But if I have 6 hooks I can just chill at that point. Well if everyone happens to be still alive at 1-2 gens I take someone out (not tunneling). But that one game I tried 8 hook before finishing someone off and I had to tunnel to try achieve that but that then backfired massively for me. I would easily 4K that game if I would not tunneled. 7 hooks at 4 gens would think that is easy win. But somehow they did 4 gens in about minute. So what I learned don't tunnel if you try 8 hook and you should not try that in first place unless you know their exact gen progress. 4vs1 and 3vs1 difference is mind blowing though in that situation survivors struggle to even fix one gen but in 4vs1 they can do finish all 5 gens even if everyone is on death hook if killer gives them too many chances.

Bhvr. And since its their game... ultimately its whatever they want.

Well yeah but they could listen to their customers/players. And I don't think anyone though it was too powerful it just made wiggling feel worth it and was just every way better than the new one. They should rather neef boil over if that's problematic that is actually painful for us console players to face.

  • Try to wait even longer and see if they use it. Some are good at quessing when you hit but no-one can guess it if you wait forever but do this only if you know they have dh and the situation allows to wait.

  • It's there to make you feel even more miserable when you lose. At least that feels to be it's only purpose. I think safety pipping should be made lot easier and you should only depip if you AFK, dc or hook suicide early. I got 7 hooks today as killer in game map but all survivors escaped so I depipped and it's just salt to the wounds. I was cheated that game jill was only hooked once so I chased her and she had ds, otr, dh and adrealine and hit me with all of them. I outplayed her 3 times but her second chanses were too much to overcome and she got away.

Cause... it was a beta feature that they figured was too strong so they changed it to something else. Back to the 16 second wiggle compared to the like 14.98 if you hit every great skillcheck.

Who though it was too strong?
