Because it’s an effective tactic? You do gens fast at the start so why can’t killers slug when it’s necessary?

Effective tactic to get 10K bp as killer yes. I think it's stupid if I have chanses as killer I aim always to get 100K bp if I have cake or other bonus offerings. So I don't want game to end in first 5 minites.

  • For killers I main oni, bubba, wraith and ghostface. I chose oni because I can one shot multiple survivors with one strike. When they heal each other or unhook someone unless bt and he is just very funny to play. Wraith is one of my mains also just because I like his speed I quess. Bubba ofcourse because of facecamping in basement with insidious even I do that less now and also it's fun to one shot survivors too. Ghostface because I like scare survivors and then just one shot them.

For survivors nea and feng ming. Nea because of balanced landing and now cause I have cool cosmetics for her. Feng because her screams and noises she makes. Also fun to teabag and flashlight with them.

I’m just stating what the original idea was. Why you getting so aggressive. I was joking with the 1000% it would never be that big I’m just saying that cause a lot of people said this would fix games that go to fast

Survivors could have secondary objectives like find some partf for gens as currently fixing gens is so slow that if it would be any slower I would probably only play killer or just stoo doing gens

  • Killers should lose more perks than just one if dead hard would be removed all the other exhaustion persk are too weak expect sprint burst which can be better if used right.

Agreed. If I'm in the mood, I'll just add Franklins along with Lightborn. I'm doing Insidious Basement Bubba and trust me... none of the SWF's have been happy. I've been getting death threats over a game for the past week. Imagine that lol.

So you probably use them just for trolling? My basement bubba build is insidious, agitation, iros grasp and monsterous shrine or noed so I don't usually have room for them. In rare occasions I use one of them but usually franklin demise cause survivors make stupid plays to get their item back and it takes away their med kits and toolboxes as well.

I feel like if im not 200 hours min. blight main im not supposed to play the game, survivors are either babies or 4k hours tryhards, no in-between. Im not intrested in 'otping' killers so im getting destroyed or end-up getting pallet slammed when I try out a m1 killer. No jokes around, im not a psycho intrested at grinding invisible mmr number means im not supposed to have fun anymore xD? games like lol or smgh are way less tilting

Well like you said some survivors are babies and some try hards well agains't those babies you can play casually and agains't try hard you have to try hard yourself. But I also see lot of average survivors too and agains't them you can decide if you want to try hard or play casually.

If a killer doesn't just drop you on the open hatch (or let you wiggle off), they're doing it to close the Hatch in your face. There's literally no other reason to drop a survivor a few feet away from the Hatch. I just lie there and make them either leave the area (so I know they're not going to close the Hatch in my face if this was simply a zany misunderstanding) or wait until they get bored with it and hook me.

Well I actually drop survivors few feet away from hatch usually cause they don't wiggle and I quess im just lazy but I let them crawl in it sometimes I lift them again so they can wiggle out. Sometimes I actually close the hatch and carry them to exit gates sometimes if I want to bit farm bp...

  • @drsoontm said:

Are you trying to make a point?

Closing the hatch gives 1500BP. Giving the hatch is something a killer can do on a whim, that's all.

It gives 250 bp and sometimes 0 bp. So killer closes the hatch in front of him only cause killer is toxic and wants to be cruel in this scenario.

There are a LOT of things in this game that BHVR thinks are perfectly fine.

I'm still relatively certain that someone on the dev team has an insider bet on how far they can mess with the killers before it kills the game. But he/she is the only one in on the bet so they need to add stuff that angers killers greatly but they can't make it too obvious so they "nerf" the perks in ways that don't actually fix any of the actual problems killers have it with (see also Boil Over, at least on a controller)

Boil over is useless unless you use it with the ash perk and killer leaves you on the ground. Circle of healing is strong perk but I think it's pretty fine now but maybe still needs small nerf

  • ONI:

Hex ruin, BBQ, nurse calling usually always and currently I use merciless strom as 4th perk but I tend to try other ones like noed or tinkerer sometimes.

    WRAITH:

Noed, BBQ, hex ruin and as 4th perk bloodhound/deerstalker/nurse calling

    BASEMENT BUBBA

Agitation, iron grasp, insidios and monsterous shrine or lightborn

    Normal BUBBA:

Agitation, BBQ, hex ruin and tinkerer/nurse calling

    NURSE:

Noed, hex ruin, nurse calling and BBQ/tinkerer

  • @xBlitzAce1989x said:

Also I highly suggest bringing Lightborn even if you don't see flashlights. I had survivors running a scavenger build (appraisal, plunderers, ace) and they brought coins into the match. All of them managed to find flashlights so yeah... not that it made a difference.

That would be stubidiest idea ever wasting perk slot for that there is risk someone finds flashlight in chest. But if you really fear that risk so much use franklin demise so you can take all of their items away but even that is bit waste of perk slot

    In my opinion:

    Power Rework

-Nightmare (He needs another power rework, he's just so boring to play as and against.)

    Major Changes

-Pig (Power is clunky, can be made smoother to play.)

-Shape (Similar to Pig, older power that can use some modernization.)

-Trickster (While I personally enjoy playing killer, he can be miserable to play against. I believe he should be a 115% killer with a base terror radius of 24 meters, however, he has to build up to his power similarly to The Oni. When he gets his power, imagine Main Event, only the speed and length are tweaked in order to compensate for the new charge requirements. Maybe, to keep in theme with his celebrity status, the power charges the more survivors give him attention. I also think he should be given something to assist when his Blade power is not available, not quite sure what he should be given, however something to assist with map pressure would be nice.)

    Minor Changes

-Artist (Can be unfun to go against and to play, I feel that rewarding long distance shots would be nice. Maybe the farther the shot, the longer it takes to repel the birds, but if the shot is from a closer distance, it takes less time to repel.)

-Blight (Addons only, base kit doesn't need changes.)

-Executioner (Addons could use a pass, not a lot of variety or interesting choices besides the range and recharge modifiers.)

-Hag (Has some insane addons and crazy camping abilities, could be toned down to make survivor experience more enjoyable.)

-Hillbilly (Chainsaw overheat could be removed, the issue with old Billy was his addons, not his base kit. Now that instasaw Billy is gone, he does not need an overheat.)

NOTE: Twins are not listed due to devs. confirming that they're next to be receiving changes.

Trikster should not be revorked totally but he needs some kind of buff. Also oni needs to be looked into new healing meta hurts him so he need to get his power earlier maybe his passive charge should be faster and he should be able to dash without his power too but not hit it would be for map travelling.

  • The long chainsaw add on could be nerfed but other that that bubba chainsaw is usually too short to catch survivors if they know what they're doing well on pc he could be nerfed but not on console. I see console players always hitting wall and pc players always hit you so he will be unplayable on console if he is nerfed and that would cause more facecampers.

Right now the best general strategy to get a 3-4k is to tunnel out one survivor as quickly as possible (generally whoever brings CoH, or someone who already used DS on you). The pressure it puts on the survivor team to knock out the other gens starts a snowball. Even good teams will play sloppier and more rushed, which leads to more mistakes that can be taken advantage of.

Also, just to note. "Playing to have fun" and "playing to win" aren't mutually exclusive. Maybe it's because I started playing chess as a small child, but I always find the most fun in any pvp game doesn't come from being "relaxed" but from coming up with and adapting a strategy to another player who is also coming up with and adapting strategies to defeat my side. If I'm looking for a relaxed "casual" experience I play one of many single player games that don't require more strategy than figuring out what color I want to paint the fence around my tulips.

I still don't think tunneling is best stragedy well only if you can do it very fast like in less than 2 mins but you are going to lose pips and bp. Sometimes that only ends the way that you get looped whole match and you don't apply any pressure on others who just do gens. My goal is down and hook and go for another down him and hook and then if the first guy is on hook I go back there hit unhooker and slug unhooked and down unhooker and put him on hook if the first unhooked is not revived then hook him again. This way I apply much more pressure and I can stop then for doing gens so it's most of the time much better stragedy for me than tunneling. Usually I kill first when all have been on hook at least once so everyone can still have half decent game at least.

Nah just only this but if i see a DH + some BB or 2 guys using DH.

It's the feeling i get during the start of the trial. If i see they are good survivors, that they use DH and that there is some kond of synergie between them + boon installed etc... and gen rush, yes i tunnel/camp.

Usually when you face good survivors you have all the "toxicity"right at the start :

    • huge gen rush
    • DH
    • bodyblock after the DH
    • extremely good loopers

So yes, the game forces me to try hard and camp/tunnel so i do it.

DH is impossible to bait against good survivors because a good survivors will play with sound, not the visuals and so will trigger his/her DH right when he/she hears the hit going. Only noobs pre-shot it.

Oh I thought you was just going to use it as stragedy if survivors have those perks. Agains't good sfw:s there is not much killer can do unless playing nurse or blight. So camping is valid stragedy. But sometimes I see nurses to hard tunnel and camp even bad or average players even it's not neccesary at all for the win but they just want to kill everyone fast.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

Also to those who keep repeating this is a "casual game."

Nowhere on the Store Page on Steam does it say that,... in fact it is called "competitive PVP"

    Top reviews:

“Dead by Daylight has evolved into an unrivalled asymmetrical competitive multiplayer game, and one of the best horror games around.”

    9/10 – Gamespot

“Dead by Daylight’s inventive concept for a competitive horror game strikes an incredible balance between two very different styles of play, and makes both compelling.”

    9/10 – IGN

DBD has not been a "casual" game in many years, survivor mains just keep saying it, but the game is literally sold as online comp pvp.

I thin dbd is at least more casual than games like fortnite for example that just full of sweats. Most players in dbd are casuals still.

I do not deny the survivors to play the game, on the hook or on the ground :).

On the hook the surv can move his/her arms, on the ground he/she can crawl.

And no, 4xDH/BT hugely prevent the killer to score hooks by the time the gens are done. 1 DH use = 30 seconds more chase. Since the hit validation on this perk, DH became way too strong. You cannot even bait it as if you use it right when you hear the start of the attack, the server will validate it.

With DH/BT/bodyblocks/toolboxes, the killer can do 3 hooks by the time 5 gens are done.

So yes, they come in the trial with broken loadouts, i play with a broken strategy.

Don't expect fairness from someone when you don't want to play fair.

So every time you see dead hard used you are ok im gonna tunnel and camp this guy just wow! Most of the time dh only gives bit of distance and is easy to bait still usually I down dh users in less than 10s. But usually I hit them before they use it you just have to be enough close and not do huge lunge. Bt is not problem almost never unless you go after unhooked unless they take protection hit for unhooker with it so sometimes I go after them then and other times if they want me to hit them I just wait it out. Bodyblocking usually gives you 2 free hits so I take that even free downs I sometimes still manage to hook the guy and they're not doing gens while doing that. I main oni so thank's giving me my power freely.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/319107/grabbing-off-the-hook-promotes-camping

Actually camping is more promoted by killers feeling the inability to do multiple chases and get downs. This can be amplified by certain maps and setups...

Not to mention if players have pushed gens and leave the person on hook for awhile why wouldn't a killer go back to camp the next stage?

You want killers not to camp? Balance so they dont have to, I can assure you alot of people camp because they dont know what else to do and they just dont want to be bullied or not even secure a kill.

I think killers know what they should do but camping is easy option. I understand camping totally when gens are done I mean what else are you supposed to do at that point unless you have noed and know you can take them down. But facecamping when there is still 5-4 gens left is not neccesary for win but some still do it. I do it when I do something else at the same time like eating.

  • There is no reason for that other than new players are supposed to die quickly I quess and even get tunneled first 2 minutes in the match. Experienced players hit it almost always and ds abusers too. I tried to tunnel just see how good stragedy is as killer and I killed first person so fast probably less than minute and half. I felt bad for the claudette. She got under 1000 bp and I won that match easily but played normally after her death. What I did should not be possible thought she didn't had ds thought. I think ds skill check should be removed and it should be allowed to use 2 times if killer does not hook anyone else. Normally I very rarely tunnel unless I have rift challenge to kill obsession but even that is situational cause if there is 4-5 gens left no reason to tunnel. Now I even ran perk nemesis when I do have obsession killing or hooking challenges so I don't have to tunnel.

  • Im pretty sure spirit has 115% movement speed at least when I played her she felt normal and not slow like huntress.

In my opinion killer has already lost if survivors get all gens done and still all of them are alive

Well your opinion is wrong, and game mechanics should not be made based on incorrect reasoning, as those mechanics will then be flawed.

The Killer has not 'basically lost' or 'almost lost' or lost at all until he can no longer kill the Survivors. That's a hard fact, not an opinion. There is no win condition for popping the gens but not leaving the match.

Survivors would have to find hatch first so killer still has chanse to try comeback even if they have key. I think this is good idea and it should be at least tested. Survivors are going to escape throught exit gates most likely when gens are done so is it that big deal have another way to escape? My goal as killer is always to win before all gens are done and usually I succeed so yeah I consider it lose if they get all gens done.

  • That would be cool idea and not everyone is going to use key anyway so if you are going as endgame build as killer just dodge the lobby if you see key. Anyway 99% of the time blood warden is useless and noed gets cleansed immediatelly usually or all totems are cleansed anyway so it does not even spawn. Noed can work if you are quick to down survivors or if it spawns in location hard to find. So would it matter that much if there is hatch somewhere? Survivors probably would not even find it or not all would been even able to escape as the key keeps it only limited time open. In my opinion killer has already lost if survivors get all gens done and still all of them are alive.

  • I would say that if the match last more than 30 mins then you can dc without penalty but anything less than that would not be ok. If you could dc without penalty after 10 mins so many would dc if killer is winning and killer would dc too if match would go badly for him. I would say if killer tunnels you then dc:ing without penalty would be fine but I don't know how that would work or if is even possible to do.

  • Not everyone but I let last 2 usually go if I don't do rift challenges so then I just do farming with them it's better than farming with 4 survivors cause then they usually do gens fast and I get less than 20K xp usually or bit over. But by farming with last 2 I at least get close to 30K xp or over and I can get even 100K+ Bp so then im much more happy than sweating for 4K which usually makes me feel bad unless I truly deserve it.

  • Well cause that is the fair thing to do. Those killers irritate me most who just try hard to kill the remaining survivors when there is still 5 gens left. I usually play very fairly and hook everyone twice and then maybe kill one and then let the last 2 escape and other times give the last one hatch. I want everyone to have good time still cause when my teammate dc early killers usually just try hard and slug people on the ground and everybody dies first or second hook that just sad. I don't want to be that kind of killer but sometimes survivors kill themself in first hook on those situations so then I just try to farm with the last 2. Today I had game where someone dc:t early so then I made clear I was going to farm but then other 2 dc:t pretty soon as well and I let last one to have hatch even thought he pointed that I should put him on hook.
