@CheeseAnton Wow ! I didn't know that console had those 2 chapters for free ! :O Doctor and Hag are two good killers I want to have :P
@Deadeye I know it takes a long time to get all the chapters that's the point. And off course I know I should pay to have more characters. As I was saying I'm a free-to-play player and I started playing seriously last week. I see this habit all the time in free/low cost video games. There's always a system of point that represent currency and you have to buy currency to get decent results in the game. I just want Dead By Daylight to be less this type of game because we're talking about new outfits for characters. Wow that was a long explanation, I'm not mad I'm just hype for writing :P
With one difference: you don't need to buy anything to have decent results in DBD. It is often mentioned that really good players don't need perks at all. Otz has a video about good builds for every killer without teachable perks of other killers. The only thing is that you get less variety. But Billy and Nurse are for example in the top 5 of everyone's tier list, so no need to buy a strong killer. Regarding perks it is just certain builds that you cannot play, but with the perks you get there are still viable builds possible.
And you can get quickly to certain builds that you want most. For example if you want gen control, Tinkerer is on a basic killer, Ruin and Pop are on killers that can be bought with shards. You just need to decide what is your main desire. And with a bit of luck, the progress is faster by getting the right perks in shrine.
-
That's not a bug, that is how the perk is supposed to work o.O
-
Of course it takes a bit to get all the chapters for free. They also rely on some income. How many hours have you played the game already? How much money did you give them?

Hard to call a game scary when the Killer and a survivor runs a 4m circle loop for 1min. Also Spine Chill spoils all the fun on stealth killers too

I would change the silent bell addon to insta uncloak with 1.5 second immobility, making the Wraith scream like after a pallet stun and add some crazy ass visual effects, causing 100% skillcheck chance on survivors within 8m

In my experience, the only way to get iri devout in red ranks is to get a 4k merciless. I spent forever on that archive challenge because the last survivor kept getting hatch or dc'ing.
merciless is the title regarding all emblems, has nothing to do with Devout
-
The descriptive text is wrong, the progress bar and "marks" are correct. you need 100 points and you get 20 per kill (whatever way) 10 for hooking everyone at least once and 10 for 9+ hooks
-
Because they only like the game when they win and call it out everytime when they don't do
Especially tunneling is yelled always when a survivor just doesn't feel like going down right now. Heard someone call someone tunneler because he dommited to a chase, first hook. Also if survivor go almost insta unhook, the killer is blamed camper if he dares returning.
Also (and I find myself do that as well sometimes) many people are confident to be able to read situations but know **** about what just happened. Like getting downed and seeing a survivor aura for 5 sec knowing "THIS survivor is useless!" just because he is not sitting on a gen right now. Had that on an injured Kate in the corner for example and turned out that one got most BP of all (like 28k). So maybe just tabbed out for a second or whatever reason caused it. The match lasts like 12 minutes, some seconds is not a good timeframe to judge the whole match

lets exaggerate if we have nothing smart to say!
how about all the face campers get their game uninstalled? why not just look at the hooked surv and get blinded? drop dead maybe?
easier to blame everyone else - i became camper cause x y z... BUT what about thinking what can be a solution for SOLO players?
maybe your blessed with nice killers and pro solo survs that can read your mind and play perfectly, but thats not my case...
also if you cant tell that 4 people dressed the same with almost same names are 100% SWF, im happy for you and wish you will never know what is to play against good red rank SWF - im happy you play in a pink bubble DBD! good for you!
let's start insulting if you have nothing else to say. thanks
I'm not blaming everyone else. I just said that your 0 BP solution is nothing but a revenge wish rather than a solution. That won't fix anything, only allow you say in chat "enjoy your 0 BP" or whatever.
About the SWF: yay, bet that happens all the time you accuse someone of being in SWF. For me, it happens regularly that killers "reading ability" is pretty crap. Sufficient to bring a map when someone else brings a key to be SWF. Or when a breakout works out. Or when 2 people body block to grant a gate escape. Or when a totem gets cleansed by someone else than the killer expects. Or just by being from the same country... I bet you never expect SWF because of things like that, like everyone else does when complaining about SWF, which in 90% of games does not even take major effect on the game.
Oh, and almost forgot to rant back: sad you play in a black bubble. Bad for you. I'd just advice to praise a little less entitlement, keeps raising the fun of the game. But what do I know.
No need to respond, I'm done with the thread

Old post by the way.
I kind of agree with what you disagree with for some things, specifically aura-related perks. However, if Luck is gonna be in the game, it should have an effect on just about everything in the game.
Could we exclude perks entirely? I honestly wouldn’t mind that. I’d personally hate to get screwed over by Luck while running a gimmick build.
And I agree about your point about the visuals. My solution would be to have a visual and sound cue when a luck-based event triggers. Both so it feels more alive (less like a bug) and also more satisfying where you get that warm feeling in your heart where you’re like, “Ah thank God.”
Oh, didn't notice the necromancy in this thread. I just go by the "recent discussions" page ^_^'
I don't think luck should affect everything, but it definitely could get some more effects than the current, especially as many expect some things which is by simple logic but it doesn't. Chests is one thing, your skillcheck ideas are good as well for example
-
Two notes:
- Cant confirm the camping. I have normal games most of the time.
- And how you know they were SWF? I assume guessing
There is not really a way to punish camping without making the game look seriously foolish. Like the cage warp when PH camps them. Thats a bandaid because they reintroduced facecamping with it. The REAL facecamping, where the killer could block the "safe" spot, because there is only one spot you need to stand on to perform the unhook/uncage. Facecamping was solved by swivel hooks, so you can unhook from 180° and not from a blockable spot. So they invented the cage warp instead of swivel cages. Imo both a silly solution.
If you want to solve camping, would you like to have hook warping? Yeah... 0 BP? Yeah... how about simply making the killer explode or get stomped by the entity yelling "Th4t's n0 eN+erTa1nMent 4 M3!" would justify the 0BP and ruin killers fun as well. And just to be fair, clicking flashlights too often in a short time should make them explode with an own mori animation included as well. Pressing CTRL too often should make survivors fart bloody, shitting out a 1000BP for each consecutive crouch. If we get to that point, I simply quit the game.
I know this is exaggerating, but there is simply no solution that does not head towards "hook warping" or "entity stomping"
-
I totally disagrtee with all effects to killer belongings and perks. When you wrote that killer is not affected, I thought you would bring up points how killers can have luck, rather than providing a list of how luck counters several killer mechanics. This would simply feel like bugs on killer side when a relied mechanic simply does not proc.
Luck should stay survivor action based, not killer interaction based. If you go the way you suggested, you could also progress and list stuff like "0.5% chance of not landing a vault hit that otherwise would have connected".
-
I think it will not be possible to have "console only" addons
And for nurse: Simply no. Giving her aura addons is not necessary. It is strong enough to give her aura perks like Nurses Calling and I'm All Ears. That means pretty much free hits and nurse is strong enough to not give her that in more ways then necessary

The magic Kingdom of Coldwind Farm. Hehe
This one is pretty much hacking. I saw that on youtube, not explained how it works but showing killer and survivor view. A typical indicator for this hack is that at least 1-2 sec before the vanish the survivor does run in a straight line and not looking anywhere, so no mouse movement and plain Shift+W
When the hack is activated, the survivor model keeps running in a straight line but the actual survivor can move somewhere else. As soon as the hack is deactivated, the "husk" for the killer disappears and the survivor is visible back in place
-
Because it is long time part of the game and probably being a waste of time to get rid of it? Also there are achievements related to that.
Btw there is a console player. How did you confirm they are SFW? Because you lost?

I think you're right that people overestimate how many SWF groups they're going against, and that we can't always know for sure. But there are times you can tell, and it's especially easy to tell when they're being toxic, because they swarm you as a group for the whole entire match, in a way that solo players would never do.
Honestly, I think the more toxic and aggressive the SWF is, the easier it is to know for sure that they're SWF, and that might be part of the reason SWF has such a bad reputation. If we could see who was SWF and who wasn't, it might reveal that there are lots of SWF we never knew about who play a normal game.
I would love to have a post game reveal of SWF just to find out about that. Surely might be that you miss some SWF you didn't expect but these are for sure not the ones everyone is complaining about, so not a problem. But your "know for sure" is exactly the problem. I got accused enough times for being SWF when I played solo just because of scenes like that. It is surely less likely that like Breakout/bodyblock teamplay is happening without SWF, but for example in a match I was catched the first time and knew that the other survivor had Breakout. So it is clear for me to join the body block when I get the chance. And we managed to get like 3 breakouts
-
Regarding the video, it really doesn't seem like it cuts off almost half of the duration. It looks way less. And therefore I think it is not worth it
-
I also noticed strange gaps of scratch marks as killer. Could ofc be that I'm being outplayed. But mostly I'm sure there is nothing like vaults, gens done or something because I watch out for these events. Iron Will bug could screw me over. But I'm pretty sure that scratch marks are buggy. I noticed that heavily on Hawkins
-
I think the key factor to this is the 4k. The rest is 90% of the time included. Hooking all 4 survivors is definitely included and it is really hard to get below 9 hooks on a 4k. Unless you mori, facecamp to force them into next hook states or people selfkill on first hook. You only need a single person to 3-hook, the others can die on second hook.
Right now taking stats on my games for another reason. 3 of 16 4k matches were below 9 hooks (ok, thats 80% not 90%)
-
I think Demo is far above clown, he has a quick pallet counter, can shorten loops, fake his power and has map travel
And I think changing a single addon would not change anything of his power level
-
@Xzan said:
Wish granted. Survivors can no longer be unhooked from a cage, since cages aren't hooks.
They never were unhooked from cages. You get "rescue" and "safe rescue" BP events
Btw @GoshJosh so a noitification classifies it as a hook? Sooooo failed skillchecks are hooks? On fast vault, pallents and windows become hooks for a second? What u wanna tell us?
I don't even get the bait
-
Just one question. If you don't find out in lobby (like it is currently possible by checking friendlist) how are you able to claim that it was an SWF that ruined your killer game?
Just saying, if it was a flashlight save, it was not necessarily an SWF. If it was bodyblocking, it was not necessarily SWF. If someone cleansed a totem and you did not notice anyone seeing it except one survivor, it is not necessarily SWF.
Just saying
-
Just a comment: There is a template, also a pinned thread in bug reporting to use. This list probably doesn't help the devs at all.
-
tbh I didn't notice a raise in Moris. I'm taking stats for another reason on my games right now and I have so far 2 Moris in the last 50 games during the last 2 weeks
EDIT: although I don't know how many pre DC's I had on secret killer offerings. That happened, but I think equally rare
-
No. I disliked the doctor and Billy change and would like to keep some good old DBD OG chase music on at least a handful of killers.

No idea. I guess most saw it somewhere else and feel the need to copy it

Not as iconic, no. It's more so a cult classic similar to Evil Dead, but mainly among people who enjoy Japanese Horror. That being said, I'm more than happy to discuss the film or its merits as a DLC, I just didn't enjoy people being dicks. It's more than fair if people aren't interested though I highly recommend the movie; I just didn't see the point of the hostility and trolling. I wasn't even being toxic. lol
I wasn't targeting you. I said that because the guy had the opinion that people are too dumb/lazy to google, or just was trying to troll and I wanted to counter that

I love when people pretend they don’t know what google is for
Maybe it was more like "I have never heard of that and can't imagine it is any near as iconic as the licensed DLCs added so far, so I vote for 'nope, don't need it' "
-
I think I needed 5 attempts. Why should this be impossible? Simply 4k. Unless you use moris or people insta DC or selfkill, most of 4k games have at least 9 hooks. If you are at red ranks and think 4k is impossible, I wonder how you got there...
And if you just talk about the endgame slug to deny the last one the hatch... well, not sure if this is such a game ruining thing. You have a normal game until then, and then just have maybe a minute of lame searching.

Eh it's probably just people roleplaying if they say the last one. I know I do it. I'll even up the B word to every sentence if I'm playing Freddy.
I can agree on that one when it is a "special" build or meme, but when someone is playing as their "main" killer, it doesn't really seem like "acting", more like routine. Just my opinion, but the most times I see that it is pretty boring and lazy/uncreative to me

TTVers are trying to gain an audience, talking ######### about other players in a match might be a way to grow their audience, but i'm just guessing.
You are probably better off moving to the next match and not watch the video.
I guess it is just because some bigger toxic streamers (no names) teached the community that it is great to make fun of others. All the small killer streamers I sneaked in so far are like that. Not necessarily mega crap talk, but "great dead hard, noob" and "on the hook, where you belong to" is pretty much standard. No creativity around
-
Wow... more people right here say they would grant the hook. Why doesn't that reflect reality?
-
I mentioned that in another thread. I would say a good 40-50% of killers grabbed survivors out of the hill bug and didn't hook them, I have not encountered a survivor that either stopped struggling or stay under the hook after escaping. I wasn't able yet to escape due to the bug, the two or three times I saw it as survivor, they always managed to put me down and attempt again

True, but after seeing what they did to badham, i think it will turn out pretry great.
Well, my impression was that it looked nice, I had somehow orientation problems with the new look and that the new maps are way too dark. During PTB they said "Freddy bugged, pls don't use" and on live you don't see anything as Freddy on Yamaoka. Some things are nice though.
But my main point regarding "concept art" was, that you cannot judge by it. You expect equal work, but you cannot say that from concept art. If the game was looking like these images, I would call it next gen level, the current updates are at least not "outdated". Take a look at Trapper with default skin, it is really ugly ^^ So graphic updates are somehow needed, comparing new skins the game already gets a significant update regularly, but I'm not that hyped about the current updates. For me it is just nice to have
-
The problem with Pop is simply that most people don't adapt their playstyle. Many like to sit on gens as long as possible, giving the killer an easy time to get into chase. And giving the killer the chance to end chases quickly, activating Pop regularly and in a timeframe that doesn't allow survivors to get any progress on gens. Combined with the over altruistic behavior of people rather going for a hook exchange than sitting on a gen at least 10 seconds before going for the unhook, it makes it a pain to go against Pop.
I think in these games, especially against Slinger, PH or other killer that end chases fast, you simply need to play cat and mice, early running from killer to gain a lot of distance and making the killer even consider not chasing you. And of course instantly returning on gens as soon as you notice the killer leaves.
I think it is fair to use this combo. Two perks are gone for gen control, leaving less perk slots for information/tracking and chase. You could play against that, but either need to be a god looper or the team to adapt, and on both you need to be lucky if it is the case.
-
Btw is the second image "The Game" or is it some part of MacMillan I cannot recognize?
-
Reminder that this is concept art, not ingame graphics
-
The fragments earned by the challenges only give you half the progress of the rift. The challenges are normally designed to take a bit of time, and playtime gives you the other half of the rift.
If you finished the level 4 challenges already, it only means that you got way faster through the challenges than planned. You have 3 weeks to complete them and already did it in 3 days. You have now 2.5 weeks left to get the missing rifts by playtime. The challenges are roughly designed to need to need x amount of time, and this x amount should be the gametime giving you the other half of the rift.
The average is 2 hours of playtime per day, meaning roughly 140 hours over 70 days to finish the rift. I did threads with a summary of what I played and how many attempts and time needed per level, and the 2 hour average was pretty exact of what I needed to finish the rift on tome 2 and 3. Only thing I noticed that doesn't perfectly fit is, that you finish the challenges earlier, you don't need 28 hours for level 1 and 2 to finish, neither 42 hours to finish level 3 or 4. So after finishing a level there is always a bit playtime needed before the next level unlocks, to stay on track.
-
This is a bad idea because it is a blaming system. And this is a bad idea because people don't know what tunneling is (they yell tunneling when they just don't feel like getting downed right now, I even saw one calling out tunneler because the killer committed to a chase! on first hook!).
So what would happen is, that roughly half (random guess) of the people would "abuse" the system and report crap just out of frustration / revenge or because they can't read the game properly or simply have their own personal understanding of bad gameplay that doesn't correlate with reality

And ? Dodging a pain in the ass killer, who cares ?
A killer main using 100% of the time cheap mechanics will be dodged 100% of the time. Fair enough, they are toxic for so many survivors anyway.
A killer camping and tunneling once in a while won't be reported enough and survivors won't see it but a killer that has 50 pages on steam where it says -rep tunnel/camp should not be able to play the game anymore.
So let's go on and implement a tagging system for toxic survivors. So the killer is able to dodge lobbies with at least one ass survivor. No problem right? Because these donkey survivors deserve to get no lobby I guess. And then the whole community is just idling around. Sounds perfect. No games, no crap to deal with...

I fail to understand how "everything" is harder to understand than "this one thing" in this scenario.
vice versa XD
Is this really such a complex thing to read? What I mean is, I cannot imagine that there is a single individual that says "gain extra BP in all categories was easy to understand, but I didn't get what they mean with a single category" or even without comparison, I cannot imagine people asking what the yellow BP offering is supposed to do. This is both easily understandable!

I think it is easier to understand when you say "bonus bloodpoints in everything" instead of "bonus bloodpoints in a single bloodpoint category". That's just me. Its an easier concept to understand that you get more bloodpoints overall than only if you do something specific.
Don't agree, that isn't "complex" for me just because it applies to one category rather than all. You see the amount of BP per category pretty precisely, and named as well. Not sure if it is a good example but "head left" or "head right" is also no difference in complexity or harder to understand, although the right path might be more difficult. The instruction is pretty straight forward

How do you think we should hear both game sounds and our friends from discord on phone? Two pairs of headphones? Mixer for extra $50? This is ridiculous, man
Also, I'm talking about PARTY voice chat, not ALL SURVIVORS voice chat. And, as in any game, there should be a way to turn off voice chat or mute some players, if you want to. So your babyraging is just pathetic
I was expecting TV sound and ... phone? Like speaker? Doesn't sound that ridiculous to me. At least I would be easily able to set up comms with friends for a console.
And calling me pathetic on this topic is worth ignoring you I guess, no point in discussing...
-
I burn yellow BP offerings. I would burn brown as well but normally I don't play one character often enough to waste all of the items/offerings before I prestige. And I always prestige when I reach the BP cap, because I get new and better items for that. So not the brown BP offerings to blame here.
Just as a side note: easy to understand is not really a pro for your suggestion. I think the BP offerings are not hard to understand at all :P

I'd make it able to instantly unlock 1 chest at the cost of the key. I'd also give it a different model in the player's hand, so that the killer won't be incentivized to tunnel them down in order to prevent a key escape.
That would make it some kind of item trade? Don't know, seems worthless. You bring an item to get a random item quicker. You could just put the item you want into your loadout.
-
God, please, keep those premature raging noobies out of my ears! I see t-baggin and clicky and post game flaming enough, I don't need the audio version of that

It's more of a $$$ and business decision on their end than anything I think. Why waste the money investing in VOIP for the game, when it was originally designed with the idea of no survivor communication in mind, and when that is the single most quoted aspect of SWF that has caused an imbalance between solo players and players that play with friends; but also better for them to not take any action in regards to using external means to chat either - because again, they want to keep want continually fluctuating players they have these days.
Regardless, they should bite the bullet and invest in VOIP tech - if only to bridge the gap between solo and SWF on the Survivor side. But that, in turn, turns literally every killer match into a SWF match at that point theoretically. One of the aspects of the game that isn't as easy to just flip a switch and fix.
If they implement that, it should definitely be like in Hunt: Showdown, that the killer will hear talking survivors in a specific range as well. Maybe add walkie talkies as items so that people can remotely communicate across the map. Would be funny to see scenes like "are you on a gen?!" - "Shut Up! Killer is here!"
Still against ingame chat tho
