You're contradicting yourself and its confusing. You say you cant report them because theres no way to tell if theyre actually hacking. Then you say you know theyre hacking because you encountered them. How do you know there are "so many?"
Obviously there are some, there is in any game

I am curious, i want to understand the real motivation for which you use MORI in game. Do you use it only VS SWF ? Do you use it because you have not so many hours in game ? Do you use it because... you hate SWF and the huge amount of information they exchange trough Discord, TeamSpeak, ecc.. ? Do you use it only when someone has a Key ?
Write your motivation, and let's have some laugh ! 😁
Occasionslly its fun 🤷♂️ same reason survivors tea bag, flashlight click and wait at the exit gate for 2 minutes for you to show up. They enjoy it.
I also have a hit list, i see those people they get mori'd. Them and anyone that gets in the way

I just absolutely bodied a swf group and im pretty sure third seal had a lot to do with it. They ran 3 thicker fog offerings and started saboing and body blocking so id drop the person i was carrying. It back fired though as because of the fog and 3rd seal they couldnt find my slug 😂
Im loving this perk

Something needs to give for sure. I still think the best znswer is removung tge tiered perks and implementing an addon/item buy back. But more bps would work too

So the User "RaginAsian" is the one who defines it? A player with less than 500hrs ingame who posted his definition of tunneling in a steam forum? Sounds more like his own definition and not smth official. Thats like you're quoting yourself to say "thats the official definition".
Im sure if you ask the devs theyll confirm what im saying. <- I wouldnt bother any dev about this, maybe a forum/community moderator? Not sure how qualified these people are, but they probably got that title for a reason.
Just bc its the first thing that pops up on google doesnt mean that this is THE definition. Its just one of the answers that someone posted and google assumes that this was the best answer for whatever reason (there is no thumbs up or down, marked as best answer etc.) So if the killer downs another survivor that bodyblocks to deny the tunnel, its not tunneling anymore? Even if he leaves the other survivor on the floor to go after the unhooked person? The only difference is, that he downs/hooks the nea (described scenario above) to work around ds. And thats were our definitions/opinions drift apart.
You're probably right, its not tunneling but its neither really juggeling. Something inbetween that we can agree on? You can pick the name ;)
Not just ragin asian, it was listed below that too. And its the definition ive seen given by yters as well. We can agree to disagree but anytime a survivor tells me im tunneling when im not i just laugh at them 🤷♂️

I just played a bunch of survivors using it. Its not that bad of a pwrk (though id pick bond over it any day)

I for sure agree with you on it not activating perks.

Well, the killer is just hooking the nea to be able to tunnel and work around ds. I'd say its a game mechanic that allows tunneling under a certain condition. For you its juggeling. I'd still count it, you obviously dont.
Can you link me the official definition of tunneling in dbd? Like I said: people have different opinions on what is and what is not tunneling, which is alright. Is your definition of tunneling the one and only true definition, based on said official definition or your own experience/opinion?
Comes right up when you google it. Its also logical, "tunneling" is short for "tunnel vision" in that you dont see the match anymore you just see the person you want to kill.
Juggeling is when you bounce back and forth between 2 different survivors until their both dead. Its an advanced tactic, the difference is though good killers that like to juggle arent soley focused on those two survivors. If theres a really good opportunity for someone else theyll take it.
The scenario i described, where i down you, hook nea and go and chase someone else doesnt have a name that Im aware of, though it should. Its for sure pressure though.
Im sure if you ask the devs theyll confirm what im saying

I always thought if it were a bit like Sloppy Butcher.
Applies blindness for 120 seconds, or Blindness lasts until fully healed.
I dont really like the timed stuff, injured could be interesting, would synergize well with sloppy and thanta and would work great on legion or plague. Yeah maybe
-
Im not going to argue with anyone, Im just going to say my piece in case tge devs read this thread. Not every killer should require hundreds of hours to compete with SWFs. Its good to have the billys and nurses that require more as its incredibily rewarding when you do get good with them. But not everyone has that kind of time.
Playing survivor is easy, and once you learn it you know it no matter what character you use. Learning and playing killer requires a considerable more time sink and thats just for 1 killer. Freddy isnt OP, he just doesnt require as much time investment to learn and play well. Its good for the game that theres a killer that can do well without hundreds of hours of game play, otherwise it might be off putting to the average person.
And last Freddy is counterable, I escape against him all the time. Hes just hard.

It's ok to disagree, thats the point of a forum :) all good m8
Ok maybe I used the wrong term but imagine this scenario; you're getting hooked, nea comes around to farm you right off the hook, she unhooks you but goes down, killer decides to pickup the nea right below the hook and go after you again to counter your ds. Is this still juggeling bc he "went after the nea" (even tho she hook bombed you)? Always assume the "worst case scenario" for both sides: for killer its to apply pressure on other surv and still get ds'd, surv is to get unhooked, focussed and cant use their perk that they equipped for that exact scenario. Both are unfun for each side.
People have different opinions on whats tunneling or whats juggeling, imo there is no exact definition for that. But for me its tunneling if the killer is focussing to get that one kill by any means necessary ( :P ) after they just got unhooked. If the killer goes back right to the hook/hooked person (ingoring everyone else) to secure their kill/next hook stage, independent of what he does during the hook stage. It's the most effective way of securing kills as killer, but not great for the person on the hook. Thats why this is such a controversial topic.
I get your point about juggeling to deactivate ds (killers shouldnt be punished for applying pressure), but it's not easy to balance perks around every scenario ingame. Too many variables. Thats why I think ds in its current form is too strong combined with other ingame perks.
People who get butthurt over a discussion shouldnt be on the forums in the first place :)
//Edit
sorry forums logged me out, so I had to rewrite this post. I merged my answer for both of you into 1^^
Tunneling is when you focus on 1 person through all 3 hooks. In the scenario you described the killer let you go, picked up Nea. Hooked her, then went back looking for you, that isnt tunneling. Its a smart play, but the smarter play would have been to down you and leave you slugged and chase nea, probably downing her pretty quick since shes already injured. Hook her and leave you slugged and go chase someone else to work around your possible ds. In either case, no its not tunneling. Tunneling has a definition, people try and rewrite definitions to suit their agendas (you see this every where in and outside of gaming). In this case survivors convince killers tunneling is anytime you chase a person off hook and thats just simply not true.
As far as ds is concerned, just play around it. It should be pretty rare you eat one. The only time i eat one is if its still really early in the match and someone does something stupid (like what you described). If were at 4 or 5 gens left still im picking you up and you better have ds
-
Playing killer i really like those people, i tend to remember their names, and i have a mori for them when i see them again

Still why should one survivor be punished for the mistake another one did? I'd say this might be fair for full swf teams, but not randoms. Most teams consist of at least 1 or more random team mates. How does your suggestion help with multiple 2nd chance perks other than adrenaline? All gens are done, surv gets unhooked with bt & ds, is able to make a lot of distance to the door and still cant be picked up for <60s or until you down + hook another surv. I think this is one of the main reasons why killers are unhappy about ds.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1281295#Comment_1281295
Can you elaborate? After he got unhooked? Right when the game started? Is this comment about the suggestion of the 2x timer for gen repair?
Surv gets unhooked: 60s timer starts, he works on a gen for 15s which consumes 30s of his ds. If he leaves the gen, his timer goes back to normal (max 30s minus the time from hook to gen).
I didnt make a suggestion. I think ds is fine how it is. I might reduce the time by about 15 secs but thats it. My only point was you used the word tunneling when what you described wasnt tunneling. Almost every survivor ive ever spoken too uses that word incorrectly. And since they dont know what tunneling actually is they get unnecessarily butt hurt over literally nothing.

I've seen this multiple times on the forums and its a bad solution. Punish the player on the hook (by disabling their perk that works on max 2 occasions during the game) for another player who goes down. Imagine being on the hook, oni/billy go away with their respective power, down someone and hook him right after you got unhooked. He gets back to the hook and tunnels you down. Even if you hooked someone else, you can still go back and tunnel the first person down. Just bc someone got hooked (bc the player got caught off guard or played bad) doesnt mean that you cant tunnel another person down.
My suggestion:
- timer goes 2x if the survivor works on gens, searches chests, cleanses totems, heals other players, opening gates, goes into a locker and/or during active EGC
- timer deactivates if you get healed or the deep wound state is activated
This would stop the chain of 2nd chance perks like being on the hook, getting unhooked + healed from adrenaline, gets hit twice bc of BT / styptic agent and still having DS. Also synergizes with second wind (get unhooked, work on gens for 30s, get healed for free while ds is active during that time) and counters perks like we will make it (soft counter, bc wwmi is 90s at t3) and adrenaline/bt.
The issue arent 2nd chance perks like ds but chaining them all together to take multiple hits and still being invulnerable to get picked up due to ds.
Just to be clear, perk aside, what you just described isnt tunneling. Its juggeling. They are very different things and definitions matter

I’ve always been a big advocate for TTS. I think it can be an even better time waster and annoyance than even Ruin. Yes, even against SWF with comms.
I frequently run it with Knockout so that the very first slug is both blind, and the 3 other survivors can’t see the downed survivors aura either. The advantages of this against randoms is obvious, but even with SWF on comms this tests their communication, and eventually their patience.
You can bet your arse if they are a 4 man SWF relying on one survivor with OoO, they’re going to waste LOADS of time trying to find that totem.
Hadnt thought of it with knockout, interestinh

well..its still a bad perk

Most survivors run something, kindred is a big one, as is de ja vu. It can end chases in that they have no idea where you are and you can take them by suprise getting that first hit in.
Im not saying its meta or anything, but i dunno i just think its better than most tier lists are giving it credit for.

If it wouldn't be such a gamble i would run it everytime. Sadly OoO got build-in Premonition so it's not worth it, especially not becauae its a hex.
I get that, in games where the team is a swf with OoO you can target the object hard, once their gone 3rd seal wont be needed. For non swf it removes all perks they use to coordinate. But yeah theres always the risk its gone in 10 secs

Probably because I use pop, so I get much more value. If I'm close enough to see them tap, they're going to take a hit or down for their trouble.
It's a total waste of killer time to kick a gen, unless you're using surveillance, or are certain you ran the survivor away.
Its a waste of time because they can simply run by and tap it while in chase without ever slowing down...if you kick a gen znd nobodt returns to it for about 30 secs you got value

I'm as pro killer as they come, but this is a non issue. If it really bugs you, run overcharge.
This baffles me. It takes the killer 3 seconds to kick a gen and it regresses so slowly its barely worth doing. Allowong someone to tap a gen for one frame makes it even more useless. How do you see that as a non issue?

Hi fellow gamers! I started a discussion several days ago about the possiblity of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill being the new Killer, but I didn't go too in-depth about why I thought he'd be a possibility. Since then, I've discovered and researched things that strongly suggest that my suspicions might come to fruition, and I wanted to share them with everyone! Let's get started.
"Iconic in the world of horror since it's release"
This statement can be applied in full to Silent Hill. According to Wikipedia and the Silent Hill Wiki:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/164/Screenshot_1.png
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/071/Screenshot_2.png
I would also like to state clearly that the "world of horror" obviously includes video games. And "iconic" doesn't mean it has to be on the level of Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Jason. "Iconic" can mean "widely recognized and well-established" or "widely known and acknowledged especially for distinctive excellence", and I think it's safe to say that Silent Hill falls under these definitions. According to Wikipedia, it is "a defining title in the survival horror genre", and on the Silent Hill Wiki, it "had a huge impact and legacy on the survival horror genre since it's release" (inception!).
"A Classic License"
With "classic" meaning "serving as the established model or standard" or "having lasting significance or worth", we can easily say that Classic can be applied to Silent Hill. It is a "classic" horror game, as it has been and is still being referenced to this day, and is an established model of the survival horror genre, with many horror games taking inspiration from the franchise.... and it still has great worth and significance, as many gaming journalists and individuals still cite it as "one of the best horror games of all time". (Fun fact: The Duffer Brothers cited Silent Hill as an influence in the creation of their show, Stranger Things!)
The 4 on the anniversary logo
The Dead by Daylight 4th Anniversary announcement photo has a few odd details here and there.... but I immediately saw a similarity between the 4 logo on the image and Pyramid Head's appearance, and got to work.
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the 4 and Pyramid Head:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/270/side by side comparison.jpg
If we take the 4 and rotate it slightly, then place it over Pyramid Head's "hat"....
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/334/Screenshot_5.png
.... it's a perfect fit.
There's really nothing more to say about this!
Conclusion
I'm not going to say that it's 100% certain that Silent Hill is the next DLC, but I'll be quite surprised if it isn't, as I think it's an extremely strong possibility! Silent Hill has been iconic since it's inception, is a classic horror game that is still being referenced to this day, and marked the world of horror by being considered one of the best horror games of all time by many, with many other peoples' horror games (and in the case of Stranger Things, shows!) taking inspiration from Silent Hill. But, I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Thank you for taking the time to view my post!
That sideways 4 is very compelling, that doesnt look like an accident

Really? I see thrilling as more of a support perk than anything. It pinpoints which gen to go kick with pop after you hooked someone, with more accuracy than BBQ.
The strongest killers I usually am loaded up on tracking perks instead of slowdown perks. Whispers is just so good for instant pressure within the first 20~ seconds of the game starting. I know it's not needed, but it's nice to not spend more than a few seconds searching empty areas of the map. Especially when it's not uncommon to lose a gen within the first minute of the game starting (which I time with corrupt), you need to be in a chase right off the bat. Here's probably my favorite 'strong' killer build:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/012/Spireh.PNG.png
The next best slowdown to pop is probably sloppy butcher. New ruin is OK on high mobility killers as well, but suffers from the same problem as old ruin (dying in the first 30 seconds of the game).
I just meant for the perk slot. Im not saying its anywhere near as strong as pop. Ive been enjoying using it. That said, i see survivors hanging out next to a blocked gen all tge tine with bbq, so it is wasting SOME time

I agree, but I wish there was a way for the match to notice something was wrong and halt the game. Sort of like what they did with not enough people joining, if an error occurs that stops the survivor from entering the hook phase it should boot everyone out of the game instead of soft-locking it AT THE VERY LEAST. This has been around for far too long, and I've made support tickets about it dating back 5 months ago with the only response being that they've sent it to the team.
The game probably should have some kind of timer at the 30 minute mark (maybe 20?) Where the game just ends

I am a r1 survivor AND killer, and I can assure you that almost all r1 Freddies are just ######### around. Using the weakest addons, perks that dont really compliment Freddy's strenghts and at best run Noed just to get a salty response. Because thats literally been every Freddy player I've faced against. Just because most killers play Freddy fairly, doesnt mean he doesnt need nerfing.
Im r1 killer and survivor too. Im sorry youve had such a rough go with freddy but nothing youre saying justifies a nerf. Hes counterable. Drop the pallet early, wake yourself up whenever possible and dont make stupid mistales during the match 🤷♂️

Then you've either been facing someone who plays Freddy to ######### around, or you've been facing someone who doesnt understand Freddy's strengths. When I screw around with Freddy, yeah, 1-3 people will escape. If I try a tiny bit with Freddy, 1-2 people escape. If I try decent with Freddy, 1 person escapes because I let them escape. Have any person try hard with Freddy, and escape is impossible unless you know its gonna be a Freddy or for whatever reason are running Calm Spirit and OoO.
I mained Freddy for awhile and still occasionally lost to good teams. Hes a potato masher for sure but hes not uncounterable. Im a r1 survivor so i play against plenty of freddys and while yes hes one of the hardest killers to go against hes not impossible.

As you say the main survivors will say that you are camper and tunneler. We return to the same to be able to play well as a killer you must tunnel and camp because it is the name of this style of play
I am rank 1 as a killer and surv and have been like this for two years ...
I don't care what the baby survs say. I only laugh at your comments and posts on the forum but I see that the developers are looking for, that is, that I am doing things well when I camp or tunnel.
No, they say its camping and tunneling but its not.
Tunneling is when you chase 1 person through the entire match no matter what else is going on. Its called "Tunneling" because you have tunnel vision. In nothing i described are you tunneling as you slug the unhooked then chase the unhooker. For it to be tjnneling youd have to pick that person up, eat tge ds, chase them again, hook them again, then chase thdm off hook 1 more time, THAT would be tunneling. Which, btw, also isnt against the rules, its just stupid.
Camping is when you purposefully stay near the hook to intimidate other survivors away so you can secure the kill. It comes in two forms, proxy camping and face camping. In the scenario I described youre walking away from the hook, youre leaving, the unhooker made the poor choice to rush the hook leaving scratch marks so you know what hes doing. He could have waited 10 more seconds and you would have been gone. Thats not camping, thats just him being dumb.
And clearly you do care if youre calling things that arent camping and tunneling camping and tunneling while also complaining about not having tools to pressure the survivors 🤷♂️

You are wrong, the scenario you just described is also not valid, that is, you cannot hit someone who has just been rescued because u are tunneling him, that is, you moved away from the hook and returned to find two survivors, this is a feature of many Killers and the survivors know t as tunneling and campping at the same time .... I believe that you do not play as KILLER because if you do this you will receive many insults from the survivors.
Number 1) nothing in what I described is actually camping or tunneling. Survivor mains like to call it that but thats not what just happened.
Number 2) I play killer about 70% of the time. Both sides im at rank 1 and have been for quite awhile. Im not god tier by any means, but im not bad either for either side.
Number 3) Survivors do send me messages, constantly, i dont care. Nobody at a high rank on either side does.
Number 4) you have been brainwashed by those insulting messages into playing the game the way they want you to play and as long as you keep doing so you will continue to be frustrated at playing this game on either side. Youll be frustrated as killer because youll continue to do poorly and youll be frustrated as survivor because every time a killer doesnt abide by the madd up rules you think are real youll think hes cheating of being unfair. You have to get over it.

I want to understand this commentary, you are saying that killers have to camp?
In other words, if you hang a survivor and not see anyone, you should wait for a survivor to arrive and chase him so that a third person can go for the hang-up and if you can intercept him, is it even better? your advise is known as camping
Thats not what he said. He gave a very specific scenario in which you can apply pressure to 3 different survivors at once. If you hook someone and see no survivors in the area then of course you should leave.
If you walk 10 feet and see scratch marks leading down another path back to thd hooked survivor of course you should go back (and thats not camping). And lets say the survivor gets pulled off the hook just as you get back, you have a choice to make, slap the unhooked or slap the unhooker. If you slap the unhooked (which is not tunneling) and they go down the next thing you should do is chase the unhooker. If it goes as I just described youre now pressuring 3 survivors. The unhooked, the unhooker, and the guy who now has to come off a gen to pick up the unhooked.
And just to reiterate, in this specific scenario nobody was camped or tunneled.

Legion? Because by the time you get to the next person with your power the first could be already finished mending. Also his power doesnt down unlike deathslinger.
If I can thats the person I go back and dow. I like the add on that puts survivors in tge broken status, so if i hit all 4 of them, 3 of them are broken. Going back to the one dude that can heal just makes sense

I still say it's SOME killers have tools to apply pressure. My mind hasn't really changed on that, only solidified more over time. I'm guess it's down to the person and build even, but more often than not, once I hook that first person, and turn around to get the next,we are talking two gens on at minimum. Sometimes it's 3. So now it's down to a choice of stay sorta near the hook,or patrol, and if you choose wrong, you're boned. You don't know if they will even go for the save or finish the gen they are on. Especially an SWF that can coordinate.
I'm not some highly skilled player either, just giving the average experience when I play,so everything is also imo. (And the matchmaking does put me against highly skilled players nearly every match anyways) Some of the slower killers, you almost need something like Discordance,Bitter Murmurs, etc. so you at least have an idea where to patrol because it takes so long. But then there's a slot gone you could've used for something better. I kinda agree with the guys that say a lot of times it comes down to slugging or doing something else players deem cheap or unfair.
Slugging is neither cheap nor unfair. The only people that think that are people that subscribe to the survivors rulebook. Thats silly, and as long as you have that mentality youll continue finding playing killer frustrating. Its a 4v1 game, not a 1v1. So yes, sometimes you have to slug. Its part of tge game and earlier in this thread a dev recommended it so its not going to be against tge rules anytime soon. Youre playing the role of a supernatural killer, if you want to be nice play as survivor
Edited to add: as long as you have that mentality youll also be frustrated playing as survivor as everytime youre slugged youll get tilted over the killer being "cheap and unfair" best to just get over it imo
