Judging by the fact that the person who disconnects loses ALL of their points and goes on cooldown, I'd say that disconnecting for hatch really isn't a problem.... the Killer also gets 1225 points for a Survivor disconnecting, so it's not a loss by any means. I think it's a blow to the Killer's pride more than anything....

I say if a Survivor wants to be foolish and lose all of their points + depip because they want their teammate to have the hatch, then whatever. I personally wouldn't do it (and haven't done it), myself! But, it really only hurts one person in the end--the person who D/C'ed.

Its not a blow to our pride...AT ALL. It might be a little annoying to a small percentage. Most of us just laugh at you

Is facecamping and dcing are about the same, can you explain why there is a dc penalty, but not a facecamping one?

Because one of it is cheating, and the other is not.

These things are vastly different. The killer dcing would be the same as the survivor dcing. Camping/tunneling is more anagolous to pallet looping

I still will not let them stay there to get back up. Imo it is better to eliminate them quicker and create a permanent pressure than the temporary pressure slugging creates

Whatever works for you. This has not been my experience. From my experience the more survivors you can pressure at once the better as it slows the game down, and the longer the game goes on the more advantageous it is for the killer. Its situational of course, sometimes eating the ds is the smart play. Just depends on whats going on.

people always wanna justified tunneling, camping etc

I can't be the only one who actually plays both sides and refuses to do stuff like that, it isnt fun for anyone

I play both sides, and id be considered "toxic" by both sides. As someone mentioned MOST people playing this game consider it "toxic" when you play optimally.

There are absolutely times when camping/tunneling (as they call it) is the optimal play. Just like running adrenaline, ds and bt is a good idea, and theyre a good idea because sometimes camping/tunneling is the optimal play.

  • @DelsKibara said:

I'm pretty sure what people consider toxic is just both sides playing as Optimally as they can.

Tunneling to get rid of the weakest survivor as quickly as possible is the most optimal thing to do, of course you shouldn't just focus entirely on that person but they should probably be the first survivor you kick off the game because even the dumbest and most unskilled Survivor can hold M1 for 80 seconds on a generator. Every Survivor living is a liability to your own success.

Same with SWF groups, though when I say toxic, I just mean the ability to play with your friends over Voice Chat. These groups tend to be guilty of being bully groups every now and then, but they're not too common.

Actual toxicity is when you stop playing the game in order to annoy or ruin the experience of another player. Toxicity is when you intentionally and willingly throw your own game to make sure your opponent doesn't have fun.

That. Thats what Im trying to get at but you pit it way better than i did.

Actual tunnelimg is when you chase 1 person and 1 person only throwing the whole game. Thats why its called tunneling, you have tunnel vision when you do that and miss the 5 gens that get done in the meantime.

I said nothing about camping in my post. If you are patrolling and you go back to the hook (like most killers do when they aren't in a chase) and see the unhooked person making a beeline towards you because they weren't paying attention, you can bet I'm going to rehook them (especially if they are on death hook). I don't do this as much once one person is out of the game. After that I slug. While it applies pressure to slug, killing someone completely also applies a lot of pressure because then that is one less person doing gens

I hear that but if i have the unhooker and unhookee in front of me its better to slug unhookee and chase unhooker. This way your pressuring 3 survivors instead of 2 (and ds rarely comes into play). My only point was, i dont think thats tunneling.

    Hello devs,

I'm a rank 7 survivor on xbox one and my friend is rank 4. All we have faced are: Billy, Doctor, and Ghostface. I would honestly love for you to change the nurse back for her power. We miss facing nurses - both extremely skilled and baby. Your game is getting stale and boring at these ranks, especially now with the doctor changes - we see him more than any other killer (the challenges don't help his frequency, I know).

I just miss the variety of killers I used to face. I never see a huntress, hag, pig, or nurse. Rarely see a bubba, trapper, or an oni. There is the occasional Legion...but also no wraith. It's just crappy facing the exact same three killers over and over.

Can you at least get rid of the nurse power bar and revert her back to how she was before?

If it helps any ive been playing nurse more on xbox. I put her down for a min because of all the bugs but i hear tyey fixed the worst ones

  • I did once a long time ago, they dc'd.

Another time i did too but everyone was farming and messing around so it doesnt really count, im sure their hearts stopped a little when i got all 4 of them (i let one wiggle free so he could help his friends)

  • If yoj got a 1 to 2 hour ban this isnt the first time you dc'd.

  • It has to be on the agenda with new consoles coming out

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

You just need the perk in your build and complete 60 seconds of any cooperative actions. I suggest you use bond as well to find teammates more easily. Source: I got the challenge doing gens.

Thats how i got it to. Rand bond, took me 3 or 4 games but i got it

  • Do we know if theyre planning on doing anything about this? Have they said?

  • I dont think slugging someone off hook is tunneling. I think chasing someone and only that someone through 2 hooks is tunneling. The smart play is to slug off hook and chase the unhooker. Now youre pressuring 3 survivors instead of one. Tunneling 1 person through 2 hooks with camps in between is stupid. People can do what they want, but youre going to lose that way more often than not

  • I just think the problem is overstated. I do still think they need to do something about match speeds when facing a 4 man swf, if you have a 4 man thats efficient at doing gens youre not slowing them down, period. But overall, one game to the next, thats rare enough. I probably get one of those once every 5 games or so at rank 1.

You have to keep in mind to not all swfs are good, and even if they are good they arent necessarily great.

Heres a good rule of thumb, if 3 gens pop when you get your first down, do your best to get someone in the basement because youre not stopping the gens. Getting them in the basement gives you your best chance. And its not the teams that flock to body block and flashlight save you have to worry about. Those are easier, its the teams that dgaf about your hook and finish their gens. This is why getting someone in the basement is important in this situation. The gens are already gone. Its done. Get them to the basement and force them to be altruistic if they want to save their friend.

If you cant get that person in the basement, find someobe, push them towards basement, down them put them in basement. Expect the borrowed time, slap the unhooker instead of the person theyre about to unhook. If they all flock to the basement focus on getting one of them down and slap as many others as you can.

Ive had success doing this against these teams, not the 4k, thats probably not happening, but ill take 1 or 2 just fine.

  • They were so bad πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Jaee mentioned in the comments that 3 of them got banned.

No shes about right. The bloodweb gets bigger as you go up in level. If you buy soley cheap stuff you can roughly go from 1 to 40, if you buy the more expensive stuff its 1 to 35 (apmost all my characters it was 1-35). Going from 40 to 50 even with cheap stuff is just shy of a million. 1.7 million is probably about right

  • Omg πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ its like that scene from that movie where tge guy in bar asks a bunch of dudes to leave, they say no and he locks the door and says "now you cant leave"

No, because people are atupid its causing ton of thrown games

Ever played warframe? At least the grind in dbd is ultimately not RNG based.

That was my biggest problem with f13, the perk system was awful and way to rng

  • @Traslogan said:

I strongly believe that daily rituals and the rift pass objectives have made the game so much worse than it needs to be.

Game after game now is people who have no intention of playing properly, because their only goal is a daily ritual or a rift objective for a fat stack of BP. I play 60% killer 40% survivor these days (not that fun being killer anymore), and on both sides this has become extremely prevalent.

The example that finally convinced me to do this post was a demogorgon today who just chased everyone but never did a hook and only attacked once or twice during the whole game, even just watching as people healed so he could follow around in a chase a while longer:

    https://i.imgur.com/uQmoeAZ.jpg

The problem here is that the tiny penalty of potential derank (which is barely an issue for survivors when compared to what killers have to do to sustain their rank) is constantly seen as meaningless compared to getting a lovely 5-digit sum of BP that is far more than one game typically gives, or at least is as good-as.

You can find survivors who won't do gens until they're convinced they got all the totems for the sake of their totem rift objective, or they're sabotaging a couple hooks and then just suiciding out when they finally get hooked once, and this holds true even at higher ranks, it's not an issue exclusive to some rank 20s.

I'm not even here to suggest what could change, only to bring notice to it. This focus on big fat rewards for going into a game with the intention of doing one thing and nothing else is ruining a lot of games.

I think at the very least, objectives need to come with a catch like some amount of pips or something (e.g. all objectives require you get at least silver in all 4 pips), you already treat killer achievements like this, where killers must have merciless killer wins to get their achievements (e.g. shape's achievement for winning with just his own perks), so it doesn't seem like a far stretch to extend that system.

Well you can hit that 180 secs easy just playing the game normally, as with most dailies and challanges. Its not bhvrs fault people play stupid. 180 seconds of chase is nothing

  • Personally i find the plague the most fun of those three, and her perks are good. Others would probably say spirit. I hate her though.

  • Depends.

If you run a Game offering:

Distressing, Sloppy, Couloriphobia, infectious fright and the addon that makes his TR bigger. This is a mean build though and youre likely to get screamed at.

Normally, I run bbq, discordance, pgtw and brutal on him. You can also switch out bbq for whispers which is a great perk on doc, you can also switch out brutal for enduring if you like to swing through pallets. I mostly run bbq for the points. Add ons i dont care, i run whatever i have

To switch things up lately ive been running bbq, thrilling, stbfl and discordance. Works pretty well

  • One time with bbq i saw a survivor crouched down in a corner next to one. I broke the wall and smacked. Pribably scared the absolute shite out of her. That one time it was cool.

  • Yeah they do fit candyman better. Thats who i think it is. But The Thing would be so much cooler @Zarr0ch

on a side note, I was thinking about Puppet Master today as well, maybe mysterious survivor is someone taken over,...then again, SWF would stuff that.

Not necessarily, not as long as your putfit matched theirs. Youd have to be careful about when to use it.

I do too, be the change you want to see and all that. What im getting at though idms he gets way more hate mail, so its easy to take a gg as a slight. You did nothing wrong, keep killing em with kindness

  • Yamaoka Temple (whatever its called) is a little to dark.

So the devs actually addressed this in a stream. It's meant to count the hit before turning your camera. It's a bug that it checks collision after and they're working on a fix.

If they fix that kills on console are gonna jump, because a lot of these jukes people do only work because the camera gets all janky

Wait crap, I mistook Rule Set No. 2 for something else. I'm dumb.

I thought Rule Set No. 2 was the one that disables Pig's ability to see Jigsaw Boxes in as well as give her only 1 Trap. It's 6 AM so my braincells are dying internally.

With that said, I don't agree with making this basekit for her. Mainly because her ability is to stall, meaning even without the threat of the Survivor's head popping, you would want them to waste time going around the map looking through Jigsaw Boxes, not working on Generators.

They dont do that now. When was the last time you played pig? Survivors will get healed and work on a gen before they start trying to get thd trap off. I see this almost every game i play as her. NOBODY cares about those traps. And thats the problem. Because theres little chance of dying from them nobody cares. They need more of an edge somehow

  • How funny would it be to work on a gen with a survivor and watch the progress slowly go down πŸ˜‚ that would work only once tho. Like ever

  • Yup, that 4th perk slot i do all kinds of stuff with. Dark Devotion is pretty funny. Mad Grit also. Occasionally 3rd seal cause why not.

Thats the great thing about strong killers, you can mess around and do weird ######### nobodies expecting.

  • No Tears Please - You become obsessed with one Survivor, when hooking your obsession this perk becomes active. While active all injured survivors become broken for 30/45/60 secs and their cries of pain are louder.

"No Tears Please, it's a waste of good suffering." Pinhead

Go Away - Your chances of becoming the obsession are increased. After being unhooked you ignore mangeled/broken status effects and are able to heal others despite them for 30/45/60 secs.

"Please. Go! Go away and leave me alone!" Kirstie Cotton

(Both of these might be OP but still sound fun, and go away does not counter plague).

  • I slug all the time, and I use adrenaline. I sometimes run noed and often run ds. Why cant we all just use the stuff the devs gave us and learn to counter them?

OP if you closed hatch and your slug got up you had a 50/50 chance to find them since there are only 2 doors. You picked wrong. So what? You got the 3k from the sounds of it, and if the other 3 left through hatch with a key then that just means they werent good enough to finish the gens and get out the door. Take your bps and smile 😊 its ok to not 4k every game, and its ok to not win every game

I agree. I went against a 4-man SWF and they would tbag every pallet. If I was chasing one, the other three were doing gens together. I finally downed one and put them in the basement. All three bodied, tried to blind me, and everything they could to unhook the person. I know some people will argue it could have been a solo team, but they messaged me afterwards and told me that even though I camped the hook in the basement, it was the right play with how they were playing. After said and done, I ended up getting two of them. So, while it’s frustrating, it’s not impossible. I’m not one that one camps or tunnels, but at times playing more aggressive is warranted as killer.

Yeah when you have a super efficient team your hands are tied. You have to play mean/aggressive. Who i feel sorry for are the people i play after that. Im still in full on try hard mode after playing a good swf, and if youre not that and i have my try hard f you hat on its bad for them

  • @Snowstruck said:

Please. Make it so if someone dcs, or kills themself on first hook, it doesn't penalize others.

By this I mean, make it so people don't depip/lose their items/offerings if someone dcs. Not sure how'd they would make it so if they kill themselves it works, but making it so if they dc they don't lose their stuff isn't that hard, is it?

I say this simply because, regardless of penalties, people still DC.

I don't DC, but I just had a game where I saw it was Freddy and killed myself on purpose. I felt really bad at the end; it's a d*ck move but honestly, we should be able to dodge killers we hate without penalizing others. It really sucks because forever freddies, spirits and huntresses are just my life now at this point and I'm sick of spirits/freddies specifically.

Sounds whiney, but yeah. I don't do it often so please don't yell at me for it.

It should be a simple fix. Keep DC penalties though because it has prevented people from DCing, which is good.

What do you think? It's fine to disagree (Also, in that freddy game we were a swf. Still felt bad regardless though).

Why should you be able to dodge killers you dont like? Can i dodge survivor perks i dont like? Freddy isnt hard to counter, just play through it and practice

  • @USELESS said:

If a camp one in the basement they probably will finish the gens and then save him with borrowed time

You do have to be good at landing shots, if someone tries going down in the basement on me theyre trading. And more than once ive had them mess up and i wind up with 2 or 3 in the basement. Occasionally they all get away but thats gotten pretty rare. Dont face camp, camp above so you hit them going down

  • @Traslogan said:

There is none. Devs will never hinder SWF because it's a big cashcow.

The only counter is to stop playing, literally.

Thats not true, not all swf are unbeatable, and the ones that are super efficient can still lose if you drag someone into the basement and camp the crap out of them πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/909/a draw is a lost.jpg

So a friend just came out of a game and show me this. For they were confused by the logic being used here and so was i, when i saw it. Where the survivors logic was, half their team dies. Now for a bit of addition information my friend gave them. The survivors logic was this. With them going on about how killers are op and if you don't get a 4k you suck. That why getting only two people aka half their team dead is a lost.

Which has lead me to ask this. If the outcome of a match, is two survivors dead. Be you killer or survivor. Do you feel that is a win? Since it seems like a draw for both the killer and survivors, since half the team is dead. Now maybe i'm wrong but i don't think half your team dying is a win. If i was a survivor, i wouldn't count that as a win for the team. If i was a killer, i wouldn't count that as a lost. It seems like a draw. Now i ask all of you. What do you think of this? Do you see this as a win for the survivors, a lost or simply a draw?

If i get 4 kills i won. If i pip i did good enough. If i get 0 kills and a safety pip its a draw, i only lose in my mind when everyone escapes and i depip (or 1 kill and depip). Theres a lot of ways of looking at it, just ignore the survivors. I had one tell me i lost the other day because i killed 3 on hook and 1 bled out πŸ™„

  • I think its about wanting value, i can play ten games in a row and not need my ds, then i take it off and all of a sudden i need it. Sometimes i want to run screaming at the killer "come on dude i want to use this perk"

  • No worries πŸ˜‰ glad i could help

  • I just want pinhead 😭

Playing survivor normally will get you about 18k on average. 30k is a pretty happy medium imo. For game length I included queues, lobbies, dodging, and setting up. This can also account for wasted games like moris or genrushers or whatever. Anything else I might have missed?

No if youre playing survivor thats about right. I dont recommend anyone grind for bps playing survivor tho. Ques are longer and and bps are less. The ONLY benefit is you can go into a game with no items or addons so theres no cost

This, or they need to make leveling perks and characters separate. You should be able to spend bloodpoints on perks unlocked without having to buy add-ons you are extremely unlikely to use. I don't want retardant jelly or rubber gloves, I want tier III WGLF which I haven't seen in 20 bloodwebs.

I always thought they should have an item buy back mechanic at 50% tge purchase rate. If i have a brown tool box i dont want that cost me 3k to buy on blood web, i should be able to sell it back to the entity for 1500. I think they should do both things honestly. Get rid of tiered perks and have the buy back mechanic

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Hmm I'll add some rough math here since that's basically what the thread is about.

1540000000 total required divided by 30000 bp per game = 51333 games required to max out

51333 games times 25 mins per game = 1283333 minutes required to max out

1283333 minutes divided by 60 minutes per hour = 21389 hours required to max out, or 2.44 entire years of your life doing nothing but playing dbd

The math is really rough but maybe you'll find it fun to look at :P

Playing killer with bbq on youll get closer to 50k per game on average.

And 25 minutes per game? Ive never had a game go that long. 15 mins is a long game. Even if we be generous and include time in between games its at most 20.

  • At some point they need to get rid of the tiered perks and just have the current tier 3 be the perk. It made sense 3 years and 25 characters ago. Now its just gotten crazy

1 … 63 64 65 66 67 … 69
