So it sounds like this is pretty doable at rank 15? I won't have to avoid using fountains or anything?

Does anyone use the fountains at the beginning? Gonna try adept plague today, but I've never played as her.

Easily doable at 15, I think I was green when i did hers.

plague emblems have been buged since forever but this is unaceptable, is already hard enough to get the achivements in rank 1 (specially for weak killers) and still even if u get perfect game somehow is not enough.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/168/plaga 3.png

and yes i maxed out every single category to 8k, so there is no way i got a gold in that emblem.

BHVR fix this, because is unaceptable. imposible to get this achivement with plague in rank 1, do i have to actually de rank and bully baby survivors in rank 15 (because achivements are not only easier to get there but also the emblem is way more soft?)- i literally had to farm a bit the last 2 survivors becauwse i know how hard it is to get a perfect game with plague (imposible in a normal game), and still this happens in the end.

Why would you try and do this at rank 1 😳

Now I do. I play on Xbox and was red rank killer and was very tired of stressful games so I wanted to derank somehow. I started to play Nurse, the only killer I avoided and my god I deranked, was so bad for six days. Then things started to turn around and now..yeah I'm pretty good 😁 Seriously I have a hard time switching back to other killers. All the running around, the pallets, walls etc.

Nurse is amazing, and fun to play. Killer is fun again.

Ive been playing with her more on xbox as well. Shes a lot of fun once you start to get the hang of her. I wonder if you were that nurse i played against yesterday 🤔

  • Nah. Ive bought cosmetics for every killer in the game and about half of those im AWFUL with.

Killer isnt more stressful. And theyx do not have more to do. they just have it easier to accomplish points in their categories, even if they play bad.

If you dont think playing killer can be stressful youre not playing killer

  • Back in Tome 1 there was a challange to stun the killer 4 times in a match with a pallet. Thst challange forced me to get a lot better in chases. This is why I like the tomes. 😊

I personally find Survivor to be rather dull if I'm not being constantly chased.

So these two killers definitely make up for it with how strong they can be during chase.

The reason I dislike Trapper is because he can basically end a chase before it begins, which is not fun.

Ill say as someone who plays a lot of trapper at r1 its soooo rewarding though as you have to plan so far ahead. But its a kind of boring play style doing it to much.

That is an interesting idea on paper, although I do think that would discourage people from playing different characters. If you only had Trapper at P3, for example, you wouldn't want to switch to your P0 Hillbilly even though you might have more fun purely because you'd get way less points.

It might also be a bit unfortunate for the people who don't have time to P3 all of their characters, since they would be getting far fewer points.

Fair point, I just threw out numbers, maybe smaller percentage would be fairer. I think the type of person that wants to p3 everyone also wants to play as everyone, but I could just be speaking for myself idk.

All I'll say is I've played this game for two and a half years and I've not seen a good urban user lol good loopers can use urban (like any other perk), but good loopers choose not too since getting in chases doesn't worry them.

Who knows, maybe someone can change my mind lol no problems to anyone who does run it but it just annoys me seeing red ranks using it.

If it makes you feel any better when i do use it i dont urban all over the map like a noob 😂

But yeah as killer ive had teams use that strat i mentiined above very effectively. You waste time looking for them and when you find them you waste time chasing them, where as before it was just chase. I swear the meta is shifting. Survivors are splitting up to do gens and playing a little more immersed, because of that im finding 3 gens pop off by the time i get my first down and a 4th gen has some work done on it already. Before this latest update it wasnt like that (not complaining just saying what I see in game)

  • @Peanits said:

There are no details revealed on it yet so I can't say for sure, but usually when we do something like that, we try to make sure that nobody gets excluded.

Im not expecting a response but just fyi it would be really awesome if it were a x% bps applied at after the trial. Like p1= +25%, p2= +50% and p3 = 75%. Would make the grind for other p3 characters a little more bearable

  • Just turn your messages off 🤷‍♂️ and theres really no need to announce your perks

  • I do enjoy it. I just accept it that theres some games that are literally impossible to win, its rare but it happens. Otherwise if i lose i i typically know what mistake i madd that lead to the loss. More often than not i win, so yeah. Its enjoyable because its a challange. Thd best games are the ones where i just barrly win or barrly lose.

And don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s fair for survivors to unhook a survivor right after they’ve been hooked, I’m saying punish the campers who sit there and let 5 gens go by because they want that kill, literally I could get on play solo and get camped by a leather face reving his chainsaw in my face just waiting for someone to unhook me but then everyone does gens and then leaves because of that

Thats whst theyre supposed to do. The killer only got one kill and probably depipped, what more punishment do you want?

Get up into red ranks, you rarely see it there

  • @CashelP14 said:

When I see both urban evasion and self care run at red ranks. As killer its amazing but as survivor it's extremely frustrating to see.

Especially on a claudette or nea..

Urban is still a good perk at red ranks. Break line of sight, urban around another corner, run away. Not to mention a full team of immersed survivors that are also really good in chase is a nightmare for killers.

    Self care sucks

Doc is good at shutting down the loops, but they can still waste a ton of your time. I never loop with a 110% killer, I use the web method with hag.

The way you talk, you get reasonable survivors, they make mistakes like being out of position while healing, mine dont.

Lol at every loop is a pallet gone. You do realize that every map has more than enough pallets for the four minutes it takes for all five gens to be don't.

You're doing the same thing bhvr does, assuming that it's rare to face these kinds of teams. It's not, not for me anyway. Again, assume I know what I'm doing, I'm good enough to stay at rank 5 against nothing but rank 1s, and I'm good enough to mindgame umbra on a loop.

Then you have really really bad luck. If every team you face plays 100% perfectly and never makes any mistakes then yeah, youre screwes

It is. Never said it wasn't.

Yes, and if you read my comment, you'll see that the time tcm came out compared to psycho isn't the point.

Killer in a mask, killer doesn't speak, kills "teenagers", final girl, iconic weapon, surprise kills...

I think it has more of the tropes than you give it credit for.

But yes, halloween is the one that made slashers popular.

Sure, but its just a verifiable fact that halloween ripped off black christmas (ripped off sounds like im putting it down when i dont mean to). It was originally going to be a sequel and carpentar decided to do his own thing. Black christmas didnt rip off tcm, they came out the same year. All im saying is while tcm may have influenced later films, it didnt define slashers. Black Christmas did popularized by halloween.

All of them. Lot of doctor, wraith, hag, and plague. Most of my builds are corrupt, pop, bbq, then I throw in save the best, whispers, noed, or devour hope.

Hard to talk about mindgames without seeing me play, but assume I know what I'm doing.

Well doc has anti loop built in, if you get the timing right theyll start dropping pallets early.

Hag has her teleport, throwing a trap down in the middle of a loop will often scare them away from it and if they dont you can teleport and hit them (never try looping with a 110% killer). Plague and wraith youre kind of stuck but with wraith with the right add ons you can often get that first hit as their leaving the generator, dont be afraid to keep doing that until you catch someone out of position healing.

Youre going to get looped, we all do, but youll find ways around that. Every loop is a pallet gone, and looping them in the right direction so theyre facing a dead zone is important.

At the end of the day, when the match starts youre at a disadvantage. If youre facing teams that are super efficient youre only chance is to force them inti the basement, but honestly its rare that it comes to that. Few games a night maybe. Im not trying to be mean or anything about your play time, im just getting at theres probably a lot of little things youre still missing and dont realize youre missing yet. The smallest mistake can cost you the game

  • @Alice_pbg said:

Texas chainsaw massacre is the father of slasher movies.

If you wanna say "created slashers" there are influences from way before psycho.

But TCM is the movie that said "this is what a slasher is".

What? TCM has none of the slasher tropes that became popular outside of the "final girl."

Black Christmas came out the same year as TCM and has all of the tropes of a slasher. Halloween ripped Black Christmas off and brought slashers to the main stream (as it was a little better). Halloween in turn gave birth to the slasher craze and we got F13 and NMOES (along with hundreds of others that copied the format). So if anything, Halloween is the father of Slashers, with Black Christmas being the grandfather and Psycho being the great grandfather.

TCM is more closely related to a grindhouse film than a classic slasher. Dont get me wrong its a dang classic but no, it didnt define slashers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1279089#Comment_1279089

I can't speak for him, but I mindgame. I moonwalk, play tricks with my red light, double fake, vault the windows multiple times, etc. I win a lot of them, but the time wasted causes me to lose the match.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1279128#Comment_1279128

I use three gen strats, and the survivors i play don't need God loops to waste my time. Here is what they do. Loop a pallet 3 or so times, then throw it last second and rush to another loop. Loop that one and take a hit, then rush to the next loop. Loop that one 4 times and dead hard, which gives them time for one more loop. 3 gens pop and i have one down.

So I try hit and run, keep em off the gens, but everyone uses the exact same perks and tactics.

What killer are you playing as? I still say if youre getting looped that hard that often theres something off about your mind games. Given what you said about the number of hours you have Im guessing you dont have a lot of good perks yet, thats probably part of the issue too.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

I really don't believe for a hot second that you are new to the game or forums. LoL

But to answer your question, because there is a difference from disabling someone from playing the game and people doing gens... Which you need them to do in order to do your own objectives...like to find survivors and gain destruction points. You tunneling someone off a hook just disables them from getting back in the game at all. Tanks their pts, pips, and rank and there is nothing they can do about it. You can do something about gens getting done.

It's about common courtousy. They waited just as long as you did get into the match, how would you like it if the Survivors broke your leg in the first 2 minutes of the match and you just got to sit back and watch while you bled out and they popped all the gens and left you with no pts and a derank? It would really suck.

So don't do it to others.

Common courtesy...from a supernatural serial killer...never have I ever not laughed when people say goofy things like this 😂

  • God I hope so...I want him so much more than Candyman. And this game is kind of made for him as he very much likes hooking people.

Except that when I play Freddy, anyone dropping a pallet is doomed to recieve a hit. And I am not an amazing killer, but even I know that placing down snares on a strong loop before a pallet is dropped is a must.

As for waking up, thats only temporary and forces you to go across the map, because the clock that can wake you up ALWAYS spawns as far from your current location as possible. The only other options are missing a skillcheck, except that freddy has an addon preventing that, and being woken up by someone else who also is awake, which is only really feasable in an SWF set-up, because playing with randoms, that's like expecting them to save you from a hook before you enter the second hookstage(which, is high expectations if you've seen the average random survivor).

Then you also have the issue of fake pallets, that literally means you need to drop all the pallets while you're awake, ruining any future looping, to prevent a fake pallet, or memorizing the whole goddanm map everytime it generates before you get chased, because once chased, you're a free down for Freddy. So no, its not a counter. Its only a temporary delay that is extremely finite. Because there are only 3-4 strong pallets at most in a game, all other pallets are actually in Freddy's favor as you would definitely be forced to vault the pallet and Freddy can reach the opposite side before you're able to vault back.

Its not a practical counter. Just because it works on paper has no effect on how it works in practice. On paper, spirit is a great idea: a soundbased killer in a game where most killers use visuals. In practice: the entire meta changed to the point where killers listen to breathing and floorboards creaking, making sneaking around even harder and Spirit practically impossible to escape because they literally hear where you are.

Idk man 😂 i never have that much trouble with freddy. Hes a tough killer for sure but he is coubterable and beatable. Me and 2 other people escaped from one today 🤷‍♂️ you just drop the pallet early. I do it all the time

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1278550#Comment_1278550

    Spirit counters countered:

Breathing is audible, a decent spirit can hear you breathe. Let alone that when injured, you are audible unless using iron will, which, again, spirits use stridor for a reason, so you're still audible.

    Freddy counters countered:

Waking up can only be done by going to the opposite side of the map, or failing a skillcheck, or even if you're lucky, someone who is still awake. But again, not really a counter as you fall asleep again relatively quickly after waking up, unless you've been hooked. Being hooked is literally the best counter to freddy's power.

By the time you can walk to the opposite side of the map, Freddy can teleport twice. The only way of countering a strategic Freddy teleport is by rushing the gens that are strategic, however, as a killer, Freddy will try being present to all those gens.

Perkless and addonless, Freddy can be countered by waking up, yeah. But start including 1 perk or 1 addon, and you have a problem.

Freddys counter is to drop the pallet early and to wake up. You dont have to like it, but thats the counter.

    I feel you.

Here in Australia on PS4 I play against a lot of survivors that are always ALWAYS able to reach the next pallet or vault just in time. So I’ll drop chase but the other 3 survivors are capable of exactly the same thing. And they can loop for AGES before dropping the pallet.

For all intents and purposes they’re basically untouchable. They’re always just out of reach. The faster killer movement speed is practically redundant.

This isn’t every match, but I’m absolutely not embellishing that i do experience a lot of games where all 4 survivors are capable of doing this. A LOT.

Are you mind gaming? Even on loops where youre clearly visible you can make them mess up by double faking.

Windows can be a lot tougher, sometimes you think youre close enough and youre just not, but if you fake passed the window twice then go through it often theyll be right in front of you and youll be right behind them when you come out of tge animation. If youre getting looped a lot with a normal speed killer you just have to practice your mind games and hiding your red stain more.

  • I almost never run a mori because it feels cheap. If i run it, its because Im in a slaughter mood. And if Im in a slaughter mood, im first hook moring. Again though, excedingly rare i use one, maybe once a week.

  • @Dwinchester said:

I've tried, I really have, but I can't pay fair as killer any more. I hear the git gud and learn to plays. I hear the drop chase and don't over commit. I've tried it all. The region I'm on has me playing against survivors that have 10 times my hours and they're all expert loopers.

When I commit, I might get one kill before I'm gen rushed. Two hooking most people of course. Now, when I slug, proxy camp, use noed, and all of the things that survivors hate, I win. I get good blood points and i pip. So yeah, at the top levels of survivor play, you can't play fair.

Convincing new killers to "be nice" and "play fair" is the greatest mindtrick in this game. Figuring that out and getting passed that is how you get to and stay in the high red ranks. The jerk survivors are always going to be jerks. Whether you win or lose theyre always going to have something to say. Screw them.

Youre a predator, your job is to kill. Thats your roll, thats what you do. You cant do that being nice. If you see someone injured, thats weakness, predators eliminate the weak first. If youve got two healthy survivors in front of you one is on death hook the other you havent even chased yet, the death hook survivor is weak. And you target weakness. Once the weak are gone, the strong are vulnerable.

I just beat a 4 man swf, and i did so by targeting their OoO anytime i caught her slipping. I tricked her numerous times into thinking i was chasing someone else and caught her out of position. She got hooked 3 times and only 1 other person got hooked once. Once she was gone, everything else fell apart. I also baited their flashlight saviour out a few times and she caught smacks for it. I wasnt nice during the match and you know what happened at the end? They all sent me ggs. Because they were good survivors and knew i had to do what i had to, just like they did.

  • Fair enough, it just feels like a lot

  • I swear every time this happens one of the survivors messages me telling i suck. It never ceases to amaze me

Thanks Bro, this is probably the real solution here. I just wanted to have one screenshot of me as a rank 1 killer because my friends have rank 1 and I wanted to join them, but they got rank 1 back before the new emblem system, when it was easier to win as a killer. With the old hex ruin. I miss those days.

At the very least, they should make kicking gens do more damage than it does currently, and make the skill checks less boring and easy. Maybe make it so if you fail a skill check you cannot work on that gen for 10 seconds at least.

    That would only impact noobs

It doesn't really matter, you get matched with the same survivors at rank 6 or at rank 1. The reward for hitting rank 1 is salty survivors going...

"Wow, rank 1 and you have to camp"

"Wow, rank 1 and you have to tunnel"

'Wow, rank 1 and you have to slug"

    etc

Because unless you are playing a super overpowered killer or the survivors are potatoes, that's generally how you are going to be getting there in the first place.

I have played him before, and I have played against him at high ranks, and have seen him kill my team. LOL

I don't agree his bottles are exactly the same as Freddy's pools. Freddy cannot throw a pool several feet in front of a survivor to slow them down before they're able to vault. Clowns clouds persist for 10 seconds, which can hit a looping survivor multiple times with the same cloud. It causes survivors to be unable to fast vault. Hitting people with bottles slows them as well as interrupts their interaction with objects.

He plays differently. No two killers have the exact same power - just one being less powerful.

If you guys lost to clown you need to practice more. Hes legit awful. Sure in a 1v1 hes fine, but dbd is a 4v1 and he cant keep up

No no, flashlight saves are reasonable but, I’m talking about when your at pallets, Since there are less pallets and rank reset really messed me up, I was a rank 5 and got reset all the way to rank 9 now I’m a rank 10 because of camping killers who use light born, even BT or DS don’t help

they just tunnel or eat up DS. So that’s why I had made this post.

If flashlight saves are reasonable then so is lightborne, this is called balance.

If youre getting camped a lot start being way more careful at tge beginning of the match. Dont start working on a gen till you see the killer is busy with someone else. Get better in chases and at juking. I play survivor all tge time and rarely get camped because of these things (not that im god tier or anything)

  • @xhunterx260 said:

I think light born is a bit over powered. I get the whole point of the perk is to not get blinded but, is survivors can never blind killers with light born and then if you do blind them the recovery speed is faster. I understand like in the lobby if a killer sees all of the survivors with flash lights then light born but, I think it should just be nerfed to balance the game. I’ve been going against camping killers and stuff too, this is not my idea but the idea is to perhaps provide a penalty when killers camp. What do you guys think?

Ok? So you want to nerf a perk most killers dont bother with so you can get your flashlight save in the very niche case that hes running it? 😂😂😂

    How about just simply no

Or better yet, instead of nerfing lightborn, how about we nerf flashlights, then no killer will ever run lightborn. Win win

My suggestion is this, as its what I did, play with Freddy. Hes really accessible and will help you keep uo a little better with the really good teams. The more you play against those teams the better you will get. And as you get better with freddy youll find you do better with other killers as well. Youll also notice playing against non swf becomes pretty easy. And last youll realize what everyone does after they hit r1 consistently, that it no longer matters. You'll feel better about picking up the harder killers and playing with them and losing because you'll also know you can get back to r1 anytime you want

I'm meaning the fact that a Survivor got out of the hatch, not just the Survivor D/C'ing for it! Many Killers seem to get upset when a Survivor escapes through the hatch in their games, be it through using a Key or their teammate D/C'ing, or even just finding it before they do. I myself don't care and often give the last Survivor the hatch or exit (if they played well), but that's not the case for many other Killers 😏

Oh fair play, I thought you meant dc. Idc at all if they get out by hatch, key or not. I like to use moris sometimes so it would be stupid to complain about keys.
