I've had many 5 minute games.

The annoying part is coming here to talk about it.

Survivors: 5 minutes is fine! Apply pressure!

Killers: *Use Forever Freddy or other ways to slow down gens*

Survivors: That build is BORING/OP/<Whine Of The Day>! Devs! Change it!

That simply proves the point that tge game needs secondary objectives. Holding m1 for 80 secs is boring. Holding it for 100 is even worse

  • @OutcastEric said:

Seriously all you need to do is make it almost useless to solo a gen in a reasonable amount of time. Survivors should need to work as a team through co op actions to outsmart the killer. This would allow killers to actually play the game. To balance this increase the speed at which gens are completed after someone dies.

I disagree with increasing single person gen times as the game is boring as it is holding m1. What the game needs is non-optional seconday objectives.

Almost anything would do but if i were emporer for a day I'd make it so the number gens that can be worked on is equal to the number of totems that have been broken. 2 totems should be really easy to find, 2 should be medium difficulty to find and 1 should be very hard to find.

Theyd have to completely rework noed but that should make survivors happy anyway. It would also shake up the meta quit a bit as perks like small game and toth would become more valuable

And still the Survivors lost in OPs Post and in the video.

His point was the survivors were really bad in chase and were still able to get 4 gens done. Which means even 1 survivor on that team that had been good in chase he would have lost easily.

I dont know how anyone can deny that match speed is to quick and favors survivors

Ive watched survivors report killers for less on streams

Unless you use prove thyself which is pretty common nowadays.

While true the most efficient teams arent bothering to waste the perk slot, as its still less efficient than splitting up. Not only less efficient, makes it a lot harder on the killer

While I'm not necessarily against it, I do think that's the wrong way to go about it. Surely if keys and moris feel unfair to go against, the solution should be to change them so they don't feel unfair, not to toss some bloodpoints your way so you forget about it.

Moris are awesome but should only be useable on death hook. Keys should only allow the person using they key to leave instead of the whole team and shouldnt power the remaining gens. Moris are cool and add something to the game and I dont think its fair to remove one and not the other. This SEEMS like a fair compromise.

  • @Lmronby said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1285929#Comment_1285929

Not really, in my opinion. You can't find a Mori in a chest, and survivor is Way easier to get away with. Especially if we're considering there's Technically a 25% chance only 1 survivor brings in a key (although it's more uncommon than say Medkits), you can't get in a match against a killer with 4 moris.

Plus it's Far more unlikely to get 4 matches in a row where the killer brought a Mori, vs 4 matches in a row where at least *one* survivor brought a key

Yeah but all youre doing is making a good argument on why keys shouldnt be in chests. Which i agree with.

  • Survivors will try and bully you with flashlights till you give them a reason not to. A few bait smacks and they'll slow up. Its a punishable mistake 90% of the time, and if youre really worried about it run lightborne. If I see more than 2 flashlights in lobby I pull out lightborne freddy. I love lightborne freddy.

As for territorial imperative, run trapper with agitation, iron grasp and territorial imperative. Really helps to have a purple bag but any bag will do. Trap the window, the open door leading up from the basement and one of the corners on window side (outside of course). Down someone and put them in the basement. If theyre swf even better. You just have to hook 3 people down there, doesnt have to be all at once, but often if you do the traps right youll catch at least one trying to come back out.

At the end of the day if the match is full of people trying to bully you you have to forget the tome and bully back. Slug, camp, tunnel, whatever the situation calls for as long as you keep your head. Theyre working on fixing match making but you have to learn to deal with them at some point

  • Out of curiosity, what was your build?

I just ignore stupid peoole but I hear you, they can be frustrating

  • I was running Devour, BBQ, PGTW and Monitor and abuse on leatherface. It was working really well. The trick is when you have 3 stacks of devour use your chainsaw. I THINK it doesnt notify them until you m1 hit tgem (thats how it seems anyway). So you can get 5 stacks and they wont even know its a problem till you moti someone. Either that or they were just ignoring my devour 😂

People say PWYF is good on him too but i hate perks that force me to ignore an entire survivor personally

  • @DBD78 said:

"tunneling/camping" is just made up words for legit strategies. Killers could say that survivors are facecamping gens also lol. Flashlights is also a part of the game. There is no problem with any of these things. The only problem is bad players and they will always find things to complain about.

Ive literally been accused of camping gens, recently, by a red rank.

Obsession gets bonus points for dying as the obsession for no reason. And bonus points for escaping, which makes a bit more sense. But i don't think moris or keys should reward the opposite side, i think they should punish the user. Moris already reduce the number of hooks, and can sometimes force killers to black pip, but a hatch escape is 7000 free points, and escaping at all pushes survival from silver to gold or iridescent regardless of how well they did, which almost guarantees they pip if the game has gone long enough for hatch to spawn. Mori punishment should either be worse or make it on second hook, and hatch should only give like 2000 - 2500 escape points and nothing more to survivors.

With the grind the way it is im all for people getting more bps. Pips are another thing but wht quivel over how many bps people get?

  • I WANT to play him more, but hes just to bad.

Jason is not coming to DBD.

    1. They already have him(AKA trapper)

    2. They can't use any outfits, maps, or characters from the franchise because of the lawsuit.

    3. He would be weak, and his powers would be stupid. There not gonna let you see where survs are at all times, your not gonna be able to teleport across the map, and any stealth he has will be HARD countered by OoO and spine chills.

    4. If ANYTHING was allowed to be done, don't you think they would focus more on another film than DBD or updating/fixing his OWN game? It's so bad his toy line got pulled from necca. Trick or treat studios can't even sell his masks.

SWF groups that go in with the goal of ruining the Killer's fun. They don't do gens. They just run around and get prompt flashlight saves, bodyblock every hook attempt, have fast heals, and flashlight-click nonstop.

Their whole goal is to make the Killer ragequit.

Dude, I LOVE those guys. Theyre SO EASY and predictable. Just bait out tge flashlight save and if theyre body blocking saboing drop tge dude on your shoulder and go HAM. Its actually my favorite kind of game because theres a ton of interaction snd I know Im going to win

  • If you do that then you have to reward survivors for a first hook mori. Otherwise i see no issue with what youre saying.

I‘m tired of seeing the metaperks over and over again.

A lot of player ask for new gamemode, ingame-randmoizer, talk about the hugh grind and devs want look on dailies...

    Let put this all together:

In the lobby every player can choose random-perk-mode. During the loadingscreen the game generate your perksetting, which you see, when the match starts. For using the randomsetup the player earn 50% more bloodpoint, if s/he escapes 100%. The randomizer should select from all perks.

I think that this function will bring a lot advantages:

+ see more different perks in the matches

+ learn something about all perks (learning by doing)

+ new player can try so a lot of perks, maybe they find favorites and know which character/perks they want next

+ new player can so use four perks

+ more bloodpoints against the grind

    + more exciting/spicy games

+ a reward for player which not using the metaperks everytime

+ you can choose if you use the randomizer or playing your own perks

(Maybe a reward like a daily for using the first randomizer at the day)

You just have a little risk by choosing your items/addons, for example a medkit and you get no mither... hey, but no risk no fun.

    What you think about this?

I really like this idea, way better than a seperate game mode

  • Theres quite a bit. We can start with areas that you cant blink through that you should be able to. Another is hits not landing that should

    Killer name: The Blind

    Name: Rebecca Green

Backstory: As a devoted single mother of 2, Rebecca poured everything into her career, and making a life for herself and her children. One day on her way home from work, she was abducted by an unknown assailant. She was subjected to hideous forms of torture including the removal of her eyes with a knife. Somehow she escaped and ambushed her captor by lying in wait until she heard him re-enter the room. She stabbed him over and over with the shard of glass she used to free herself from her bindings, her cries of anguish eventually evolving into a sick sense of pleasure. As she revelled in his agony, she felt a dark presence as a mysterious fog swirled into the room. Though she could not see, she could still hear the screams coming through the fog. And she smiled.

    Terror Radius:24 M

    Movement Speed: 110%

    Height: Short

    Difficulty: Hard

General: The Blind is a unique killer in that she cannot actually see, but instead relies on a form of echolocation or "sonar" to fill in her surroundings. She can still see the edges and general details of walls, pallets/loops and structures all indicated by a faint reddish/orange glow outlining them. The louder something nearby her is, the more clearly she can "see" it. She cannot sense survivors when they are walking, but if they start sprinting/fast vault/are injured they emit pulses of sound which she can use to locate and down them. She also has the added benefit of being able to loosely track survivors through walls by listening to/sensing their footsteps if they are sprinting.

Survivors can tell if the blind is nearby before hearing the heartbeat by listening for her crying, similar to the huntress' humming, and Freddy's dream world children singing. Aura reading perks like Barbeque and Chili, Nurse's Calling, I'm All Ears and all

others still work for The Blind.

Her "vision" would look something like this. The louder something is, the clearer she can "see" it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/697/20200516_212139.jpg

    Power: Focus.

The Blind's Focus ability allows her to concentrate and hone her remaining senses to aquire a general picture of her surroundings. While Focus is activated The Blind will be able to sense everything in a 32 meter radius very clearly, regardless of if it is making noise or not. This includes seeing survivors even when they are walking. Survivors can tell if The Blind has activated her power by the sound cue of a soft, rhythmic breathing she emits, which interrupts her usual cries. The Blind's Focus ability lasts for 15 seconds by default, with a 20 second cooldown. Cooldown is reduced if The Blind ends her power prematurely. If The Blind hits a survivor while using Focus she will be momentarily overwhelmed by the sound of their screams and be disoriented, ending her power. The effect is similar to the nurse's teleport fatigue, but without the stun.

Perks: Mother's Intuition, Hex: Deafen, Watchful Eye

    Level 30: Mother's Intuition

Parents always seem to have eyes in the back of their head.

If a survivor comes within a certain distance (14, 20, 28 M) behind you, the perk activates and notifies you of their presence through the perk symbol lighting up, with a (50, 40, 30) second cooldown.

    Level 35: Hex: Deafen

Their cries for help fall on deaf ears.

When Hex: Deafen is equipped and you hit a survivor with a basic attack, they are affected by the 'Deafened' status effect for as long as the Hex Totem remains up. Survivors affected by the Deafened status effect will be un

able to hear any audio aside from the heartbeat from the killer's terror radius. The heartbeat while deafened will begin 4 meters closer than normal. Killers affected by the 'Undetectable' status will not be heard. The hex can affect up to (2, 3, 4) survivors.

    Level 40: Watchful Eye

They always say they don't pick favorites. They lie.

You become obsessed with a survivor. Whenever you enter a chase with the obsession, the auras of all other survivors are revealed to you for 2 seconds, with a (60, 50, 40) second cooldown. You may not have more than one obsession.

    Mori:

The Blind kneels down and places her hands on either side of the survivor's head, and proceeds to insert her thumbs into their eye sockets, pushing their eyeballs back into their skull. Blood is seen gushing from their eyes and their screams can be heard until The Blind tires of them and forcibly snaps their neck, with the final shot being of the survivor's body facing the camera with bloody eye sockets.

Its a really cool idea, idk if Id like to be blind like that tho 😂 but id buy her and try it out.

Of nothing else id buy it just for the hex perk

The forum has two overlapping programs that were created by the community team as a way of recognising standout community members: Forum User of the Month and the Trusted program. The criteria for being selected for either one are fairly similar - be helpful, be active, be kind and civil, don't lose your cool. FUotM gives you a red profile picture, and all Trusted members were chosen as FUotM at some point in the past, which is why we all have the red profile picture, but not all FUotM become Trusted.

There's barely any information out there about the FUotM - what I just gave is about the extent of it - but if you want to learn more about the Trusted program, you can find more information in this post: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/89809/pilot-the-trusted-members

    Thanks 😊

Hey guys, getting a little better here, got my first team wipe (yay) but still a lot I don't have a grasp on yet.

So I was looking for good builds (any suggestions? I loooove Micheal Myers so much it's what got me into DBD, I enjoy the Doctor, Leatherface, pukey girl, uh.. Freddy) and I see that a lot of builds say BBQ and Chili, which no explanation needed, but I also see abuse as one and I'm curious about something. I know terror radius is heartbeat, but why do I want to expand that? Like what as a killer should make me want to expand terror radius? Does it just make skill checks more frequent? Is it so they don't always know "Okay he's close because I hear this thing"?

Should I ignore my Michael obsession, how much fun I find Freddy / Doc to play, ignore win/loss and genuinely focus on every killer to 50 for teachable? Like should I just bite the bullet, maybe that means some bad games on killers I don't vibe with, just to get that library?

Does prestige reset teachable? Like, if I prestige Leatherface whom is by strides my highest level at 45 because I wanted BBQ, do I lose that perk for everyone else or does making something teachable just stop there? Like once teachable, teachable.

Edit: Forgot one. I was on Michael, and my stalk wouldn't go up anymore. I don't see anything in the description about max stalk, or caps on one survivor, or not working on my obsession? What am I missing here? Any reason my power wouldn't progress to rank 3?

    Thanks y'all I appreciate it.

M&A is about reducing your terror radius before getting in a chase, works pretty good on bubba. The increase is supposed to be a drawback to using the perk but most dont care what their terror radius is while in chase. It is also good on michael. Fred and doc not so much.

Right now dont worry about anything except understanding the tiles and how to chase through them. Theres some really good vids out there. The bps will come either way, just practice chasing and focus on how to stop loops.

No prestige doesnt reset teachables, though i advise getting all killers to 50 before prestiging. Or figure out a build you really like on a killer you really like and get the teachables for those, then you can p3 the killer you like. Thats probably tge most efficient.

    Welcome to the fog 😊

Camping promotes gen-rushing, and everyone tells survivors to do generators if the killer is camping.

What @Deadman316 should have said is that there would be LESS gen-rushing if killers didn't camp.

That I would agree with, but we cant pretend like gen rushing doesnt happen even when a killer does everything right. Good teams get thise gens dine stupid quick and tgeres not much you can do about it

  • @Windfell said:

With people complaining about "gen-rushing" and the recent need to slow gens down in the latest patch. It got me thinking. The game should require the Survivors to complete 6 gens rather than 5.

6 gens wouldn't be all that much a problem for Survivors. You can 3-gen yourselves, and 6 gens would just need to be more careful of that late game.

It would also help balance some perks a bit better that help gens get done, toolboxes (though the recent changes to them I like), and would stop the whole "gen-rushing" thing.

    What y'all think?!

I dont think adding more generators or increasing the base time of generators is a good idea. Primarily because for the survivors its f-in boring to hold m1 for 80 seconds. Adding to that would drag the game down.

What we really need are secondary objectives that arent optional. What I'd do is make it so the number of generators that can be worked on is equal to the number of totems that have been cleansed. 2 totems should spawn in really easy to find locations, 2 should spawn in some what hidden locatiins and 1 should spawn in very hard to find location. And they would need to increase the number of spawn points significantly so theyre harder to memorize.

This of course would also mean reworking noed, which should make survivors happy

  • Thats simply not true. And im pretty sure you know its not true

  • You know how Michael has no collision while stalking and survivors can run in and outside of his body? The survivot that has the bt imminity should also have that so they cant body block. This would force the unhooker to be a little mote conservative in when they unhook as theyre for sure taking a smack.

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1284464#Comment_1284464

Not really, considering if you care about your rank, you are forced to go for those saves. You can do all the gens, escape, and depip if people were dying on their first hooks and you never even saw the killer. From a pipping and points perspective it's way more worth your time to go bomb the hook with BT.

If every single game someone camped like that sure, you can safety on those games and pip on games not like that. I almost never see killers hard camping like that and usually when I do theres an obvious and legit reason for it.

All that said, I always run BT and I think its fun getting someone out of the basement so if I die doing it I dont mind. Earlier today i traded with someone in the basement, then when the killer got upstairs I used deliverance to get off the hook, then ds to get away. Was awesome.

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1284442#Comment_1284442

When did I say anything is a problem with the game? I was just proving to that guy that you can pip in purple ranks with 4 hooks. Because for some reason, he didn't think it could be done. "THE MATH SAYS ITS IMPOSSIBLE"

So, by the fact that you can pip in purple with 4 hooks, it's not hard to reach red ranks. You could also just spam legion and pip or safety almost every game no matter what, even if you only kill like 1 person.

Fair play, really just depends on the survivors and what they do. What they did was high risk low reward from a team stand point. Their time would have been better spent breaking totems in case of noed and doing gens

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1284448#Comment_1284448

Also another issue is players using killers they are bad at due to stacking dailies.

I am not very good with billy(I'd be about a rank 15 at most with him if I mained him) sense I can't control his dash properly but I can reach purple ranks with huntress/trapper.

So when i get called a baby killer with billy I really don't take to personally sense I know I am terrible with him.

Same, when I started messing with nurse i got plenty of those 😂

  • Idk if its bannable but its fair. I HATE survivors that do that, hide while Im working on gens

  • And actually, that answers the healine of this thread, "bad killers" get to red ranks because survivors do really silly things sometimes. If no survivors ever made any mistakes, very few killers would make it out of yellow.

  • @Shocktober said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1282303#Comment_1282303

Because they were poking at the basement and I was hitting them and then going back to it, as well as getting tons of hits with save the best when they rushed the basement as a group. And as I said, I was not getting penalized for camping hooks even though I was walking around the top of the basement for the majority of the game. It might not count the penalty through walls.

What bothers me is that you managed to hook a survivor in the basement, they made the mistake of dive bombing the hook, and somehow according to you is a problem with the game? All you did was point out how stupid it was for them to dive bomb tge basement. If they saw you camping the upstairs of the basement they should have worked on gens. They could have had 3 done by the time she died (assuming she struggeled). And your emblems would have tanked. Its a 4v1 game, not a 1v1. Yes, its "unfun" for the person on the hook, but its also unfun for the killer if no one shows up to bomb the hook.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

Camping a survivor should just take away all bloodpoints that would be earned for the kill. It wasn't rightfully deserved. Survivors who rescue a person being camped should get double the points too.

The issue with that is sometimes camping is warranted. I can give examples if youd like but i bet youre smart enough you can figure some out on your own.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/153546/what-is-something-that-a-survivor-does-that-will-make-you-tunnel

Only if theyre being overly toxic

    Ex.

Excessive teabagging (survivors use this to communicate, so its not always toxic)

Excessive flashlight clicking (sometimes to grab attention to get me off their friend, sometimes being an arsehole)

Gesturing after a stun (this almost guarantees a tunnel, because theres no way its not BM. Other than that, if a survivor points or beckons me in the open, Ill usually stand still and see what they want)

Ill never tunnel for just blinding me at a pallet though. I wouldnt recommend doing that every single blind.

The gesturing after stun always makes me chuckle. Everytime 😂

  • @NaltedPog said:

For example: if I get blinded at a pallet, I will always tunnel them to death because there's no reason for it in my opinion.

Really? The reason for it is so they can A) get more bps and B) get away from you while you cant see.

I dont really get mad enough to tunnel anymore, but my hex getting broken 20 seconds into a game makes me reconsider sometimes if i know who it is

I’m ashamed to admit, but I truly don’t understand Freddy as a killer and his power. I start a match and I see the timers and immediately sigh, solely because I don’t get it. I’m a rank 7 survivor (should definitely understand him by now) and I need help understand the dream state. I’ve played matches where as soon as I hit the dream state, I run around to the alarm clocks and knock myself out of it and move along, never getting seen by Freddy and escaping. I’ve also played games against Freddy where I don’t care about the alarm clocks and just play as normal in his “dream state” and either get caught immediately, or don’t get caught at all. In the dream state, can Freddy see your aura always? Please send help 😅

No, fred cant see youre aura while youre asleep. Just a coincedence. Being asleep means youre subject to his snares or fake pallets. Depending on his addons you may also repair slower. Thats it.

Countering Fred the number 1 rule, whatever you do DONT FALL ASLEEP (or at least wake yourself up as soon as you can). You can wake yourself up by missing a skill check, using the clock, or one of your teammates can wake you up. The clock is the best option as it gives you 30 seconds (i think) of immunity to falling asleep. If you see fred coming towards you and have the opportunity, miss a skill check to wake yourself up.

While youre awake fred is just a normal m1 killer. Loop him like any other.

Once your asleep you have to watch for 2 things, his dream snares or fake pallets. Ideally youll find this out before getting into a chase.

Dream Snares: if he has dream snares you want to drop the pallet early and force him to break it if you can do so safely.

Dream pallets: countering dream pallets means keeping a constant eye on which areas of the map the pallets have been used in and which they havent. If youre SURE the pallet is real and he has dream pallets loop that tile like normal. If youre unsure drop the pallet early. But MAKE SURE youre out of lunge range when you do this. Theres a split secind slow down when you throw the pallet that people under estimate. Ive watched survivors throw a real pallet, i break it and throw down a fake one, they loop around and throw the fake one not thinking about that slow down and i slap them every time. Dont be that guy/gal.

Thats really it. Hes a bit harder than other killers simply because you have to play against him a little different and you have to focus a lot more in planning out your routes. I run Freddy around all the time and escape ffom him plenty, hes counterable as long as youre paying attention.

Tldr: Whenever possible wake yourself up, quick versiin throw the pallets early when youre asleep

Every damn game i play i get matches up agaisnt red ranks. Yes i know im purple ranka but ita not the same. A 100 hour killer agaisnt 1000 hour survivors. That isnt fair. And everygame i either give up or dc. At this point i dont even know why i play of the dc penalty is just gonna keep stacking and the game isnt gonna fix matchmaking

As long as youre giving up/dcing youll never get better. Believe me, i get the frustration

Well, it's as good a guess as any!

    So, we have so far:

    Black Lagoon Creature

    The Thing

    Jason

    Candyman

    Pumpkinhead

    Chucky

    Puppet master

    Gremlin

    The Fly

Something from house of Wax (was not blood on the skull)

    Any others I've missed?

    Pinhead 😣

It gets in the way a bit when you become more experienced because it’s something else on the screen that you have to pay attention to/focus on. I played Nurse back in 2017 and have a few thousand hours on her for Xbox now. With that being said, the real problems with Nurse are:

    1.) Dead zones

    2.) dead zones

    3.) 99% charged blinks

    4.) dead zones

5.) the damned recharge bar no one asked for

By deadzones you mean the spots you cant blink through that you should be able to?

They fixed a few of the nasty ones, but i noticed tonight theres a lot on dead dawg saloon 😒

  • Ive been having fun learning her too on xbox. I crushed a few and have gotten stomped a few but its enjoyable 😊

  • Id change his base to have dream pallets instead of snares. Thats it. Snares would be add ons. That would make him more fun for me to play as

1 … 59 60 61 62 63 … 69
