Glad you feel the same. It just seems pointless when you literally play the game as best as you can and escape but because the killer refuses to play properly you can't even safety pip.

Yeah especially when you can't do anything about how the killer plays so you're forced to escape with minimal points. Definitely a way to improve the game.
You guys know you can pick a fight with the killer right? Just go jump in his way a few times. If its going as badly as youre saying hes probably not going to kill you. And even if he does youll probably still pip. What it sounds like is youre more concerned about escaping than pipping. Which is perfectly fine and legit but thats not how pips work for a reason. Its tge same reason killers only safety or possibly even depip if they kill tge whole team to quickly.
Of course im not saying pipping system is perfect but it genuinely is to easy to rank up right now. Ive played against people in red ranks that legit should still be in yellow.

As long as Killers get a safety pip for killing one Survivor. Do minimal and get a draw score should be the same for both sides.
Wouldnt 2 kills be more equivalent to what youre talking about?

Nah me and ace just genrushed and never got found, cause a daddy Dwight was running him around.
Thats why, you should have jumped in and taken a hit at some point. Your budy too. It would have given dwight some breathing room and you and your buddy could have healed each other for altruism

Sure, and then the killer is throwing the match. The great looper did their job, essentially.
In that case, everyone should be happy.
Thats the part that always confused me. If youre not being chased youre literally just holding a button watching a status bar tick by. People say all the tine that the chase is the fun part of this game. So if thats true shouldnt the one being tunneled be the one having the most fun? And if they did keep the killer busy while 3 or 4 gens got done, wouldnt that them the flippin mvp, the games basically over at that point. Shouldnt they be happy about that?
I play a lot of survivor, ive never once gotten mad at the killer

Lay off the caffeine for a minute, Mister Furious.
Again, you're just blaming the killer for killing people. You don't ever even articulate what you think the killer should be doing. All you do is tell them what not to do. Which is basically everything under the sun, in every thread.
"Don't be near the hook."
"Don't go back to the hook."
"Don't hit injured people."
"Don't chase someone you chased before."
I mean, if a killer is in range, in what world do you think they're NOT going to head back to the hook when the sound goes off? At least half the team is verified to be there now, what do you think the right play here is? No, I'm not asking about your imaginary rules, I'm asking what you think the killer should be doing most of the time in that situation?
You tell me to "learn to play" and yet you absolutely ooze the mentality of someone that doesn't want to play the game, they want people to play by the special rules they invent in their head.
Amen π
-
Run small game, its also a free perk and coubters noed
-
The smartest play is to tunnel the weakest person out of the game as quickly as possible. It just is. DS helps make killers second guess that. Its a good perk. I think its a little long, but otherwise, good

@Orion said:
Not superstitious either, these are all entirely based on confirmation bias.
- Whatever BP offering you put up, the game will work out in such a way that it becomes the worst scoring category for you. If you put up an Objective offering as survivor, for example, you won't get any generators done (maybe you'll be on a hook for most of the trial or just get chased for a long time).
- Whatever killer you play, you'll get the worst possible map for them (for example, Nurse and any Coldwind Farm map).
- If you burn a Memento Mori, you'll be placed against survivors who demonstrate that the game is indeed survivor-sided.
- If the killer burns a Memento Mori, all your teammates will be instantly replaced by their younger siblings who just learned how to pick up a spoon.
Ebony mori ABSOLUTELY gives you stupid fast gen survivors. 99% of the time.
-
Trapper + Pig....oh my word those rbts are never coming off. Or hag + pig π
-
I actually thought kates song one was worse. I had to actually run screaming at the killer to get myself hooked twice and be extra careful after to make it worse. I missed my ds strike too. Only got lucky tge noob decided to chase someone while i was on his back
-
Yeah people dont care. This guy was on death hook, injured and tried for a head on which he missed. Played stupid the whole game. Then dc'd carrying him to the hook
I normally dont send messages, I thought maybe goading him a little would make him think more about what hes doing

Ruin was nerfed, jump ropes were nerfed. Ive tried it sincd the nerfs its kind of whatever now

It's 16% dude. It only adds about 12 seconds to solo gen repairs, and that's only if everyone is wounded. This isn't even close to ######### like Forever Freddy. Either just deal with the (honestly minuscule) penalty or heal and learn how to stealth/loop.
And thats why i dont bother with thana. Though considering the ops post im starting to wonder if i should be doing thana + dying light + pop π€

Freddy and doc. Cause F the haters

Take a step back, watch them do it, smack them. 360s counter the impatient, kind of like dead hard, and I say the impatient knowing full well that includes me too. Sometimes a survivor will catch me slippin a few times in a row. Deep breath, step back, wait, smack.

I can understand where you are coming from as both a doctor and survivor main. But you really shouldnβt take anger out on random people in a game over something the devs made for people to use. Iβm not a fan of Haddon myself but Itβs just apart of the game. You donβt have to like it but you canβt keep people from wanting to use that kind of offering.
Its not about anger, that map blows to chase people on especially with bubba. And its not random, Im targeting the team that ran the offering. And im not keeping them from running it, they still have the choice π

Ha! π

Ive made a decision, if a survivor runs a haddonfield offering and I happen to be playing bubba, Im camping. F it. Got the 4k that last game. Only 1 gen done. This is why its a legit strategy. You guys feed it.

I think a 2% increase to all bp earnings per devotion level would be nice without being game breaking.

Yeah it would be a fun way to shake the meta up and do new and interesting things. Imagine dark devotion lasting for 3 minutes and having a cool down of 45 seconds. Or Brutal Strength breakjng pallets 200% faster. Boil Over strengthening the wiggle effect 200% π
-
I view it as more of a fun thing I do very rarely. Ive found that in terms of winning games it doesnt do you any favors because survivors know when you have it and will get gens done as quickly as possible.
As far as when I use it in match that completely depends on the match. I had one game where the survivors were doing very very poorly, so i saved it for death hooks. Another match the survivors rushed the gens very quickly so a poor nea got shocked to death as I was carrying her to her 2nd hook.
I think mori offerings shpuld be done away with entirely and twice per game the killer can mori a survivor on death hook as just part of the base game.
Similarly, i think Keys should be removed from chests (or made so rare that its like winning the lottery), purple keys only allow the person using it to leave and pink everyone
-
Well the lower ranks arent any less "toxic" they just dont have the skills to match. What are you seeing that you consider toxic and think you wont see in lower ranks?
The only reason i think its ok for a killer to depip is if theyre trying to learn a new killer they suck with. As an example I went back to 13 when i started messing with nurse, that was fair cause even the 13s were stomping me at first. But i went back to reds when i was comfortable landing shots more consistently. I still get best a lot running her in reds but its managable.

Yeah Joe Grizzly would be a pretty bad ass character in dbd. He could be the only character that has to be hooked 4 times before death and stabbed 3 times before hook π

How?
This map sucks for everyone but stealth killers.
And as a survivor, finding gens is sometimes really annoying on this map.Finding totems on this map is really hard because most of them are so well hidden. And finding decent loops on this map is also pretty hard except a few spots.
Its probably just me but my chases are always stupid long, theres a vault or pallet around every single corner so youre (im) constantly one step behind. Its super ######### annoying.
Yes gens are hard to find, and unless they got devour other hexes can largely be ignored. Otherwise, imo, for me anyway, its survivor sided.
-
Im Joe Grizzly #########. π love that guy. When did he fight leatherface?
-
I let a killer hook me twice very late game, then dipped

This thread suprises me. I think ive only got 4 killers left that arent p3. 3 of them are p3 with all perks. What are you guys doing with all those bps you get?

Shes so fun tho π
-
Lerys is low key survivor sided
-
They did mention in one of the QAs that they were testing it on live servers occasionally (couldnt give you exact wording so take this with a grain of salt).

Yeah its stupid they can dead hard through traps, doesnt happen a lot but when it does I want to punch something
-
Yeah its comboing the 2. Takes forever

That might be cool. Or a Witch and the survivir could be a judge. Either way, I like it

I was using Ruin + Survelliance last night on Leatherface. Out of 3 games I wrecked house on 2. The third Ruin was destroyed really early and it didnt go nearly as well.

The add-on that makes Nurse a 115% powerless killer.
Literally an add-on that outright DISABLES your power as a killer for 1 minute every time you successfully use said power to hit people, and it doesn't even give you extra blood points for it. And it's an iridescent as well. Just like, why does this thing exist?
There's many add-ons in the game that will gimp your power but at least give you blood points for it. There's a couple that makes your power worse but it's useful. This one outright DISABLES YOUR POWER -- for no benefit! Just makes you a basic M1 115% Killer that has no power!
That perk would be dope if it only last like 20 secs

Real men (and women) run resiliance. Healings for sissys.

I think a hardcore mode would be AWESOME. No perks or items for survivors but they get like 3x bps or something. Killers TR reduced maybe, and by default more fog (make it spookier while slso giving survivors a better chance at hiding).
I would play survivor so much more if the game were like this

Like I said, it doesnt matter to claim ignorance. Past rank 10 you must be aware that the survivor is gonna depip. If you got a gun, shot it at someone, knowing fully well that it would kill him, even though you didnt have the intent to kill him. It's still murder. You knew what was gonna happen when you did it, and still went through with it. Not even the excuse of "I was worried my gun might not work and perhaps his skin was able to block the bulled" is gonna help you there.
Feigning ignorance because "I was worried on my kills and maybe the team might be overly altruistic" isnt an excuse. You're 100% aware the survivor you hook will depip.
Youre stuck on ignorance for some reason. What Im telling you is nobody is claiming ignorance. What were saying is the killer is not camping the person specifically to make them depip. Thats not the point/purpose. The point/purpose is to draw the other survivors in to make their objective easier. Nobody goes into a game saying "im going to make that person depip." They might say "im going to kill that person" but they dont care if you pip or not in those situations.
Swf depip squad the intent specifically is to depip the killer (because they cant kill the killer so thats the next best thing).
You can let the ignorance bit go now.

I mean it really depends what exactly that early game change is going to be.
If the devs just make it so all gens are blocked for a minute (for instance) it will not have much of an impact (unless you're a Hag or Trapper main who can use that minute to prepare the map) because survivors will just wait it out (especially teams with communication).
If the survivors have to find randomly placed tools that allow them to repair a gen however (for example) games will look a lot different. Most survivors would probably play more immersed at the start of the match and killers would be a lot more scary early game as every chase before collecting the tools would be a major disadvantage for the survivors.
I'm really excited for all the upcoming changes. I wonder what matches will look like in the future.
Yeah me too. Whatever it is it should shake things up a bit which will be nice
-
@Yamaoka said:

It's about the numbers. There are statistically BY FAR more solo players than 4-man-SWF teams. Games are (almost) always balanced around the majority of players.
The DBD devs revealed stats a while ago and if I remember correctly full 4 man teams were really rare.
That's why they can't balance around them. However they want to implement some mechanical early game change according to their latest stream which is going to give killers more time to build pressure.
Whats going to be scary is those of us killers that do really well now despite the imbalance. When they give us proper balance a lot of these survivors that currently think theyre amazing at the game are in for a rude awakening. That beginning of match portion MIGHT be that balance...

No, ignorance doesnt matter on this case. Past rank 10 you must be aware that the survivor you are camping is gonna depip. As for the team being overly altruistic, well, you know after they tried for 10 seconds and you wont budge that they will go for the gens.
And yet those people have the balls to complain about a genrush.
Its not about ignorance, its about intent as I stated. You dont understand the difference between ignorance and intent dont you? I hope so cause one is murder 1 and the other is manslaughter.
-
1) yes. That sucks
2) as long as survivors are spawning directly in front of hex perks im whatever about it.
I imagine though if i had a survivor spawn directly in front of me id pretend they didnt

I've heard of similar things in the past. I remember hearing some sort of perk point system where your given a pool of points to use on perks, so you can either select afew powerful high point cost perks, or alot of less powerful low cost perks.
Oh thats interesting too
