Much like survivors that stand at the gate without leaving?
Huh, exactly like that in fact. Except we get a shiny new mori out of it.
How ironic is that?

I'm honostly ok with auto Mori once the person dies on hook. Too many times. The person that I slugged to chase down the person crawls away. And there we are for 4 mins(or less) until bleed out
Thats fair, but the problem isnt that exactly. Its that i will intentionally slug the last guy to get the mori instead of hooking them and getting the game over with.
Cause you know, free mori. And its apparently extra cinematic or some stuff.

As soon as the final living Survivor standing is put into the dying state, the game ends. Following a visual transition, that Survivor and the Killer are brought to a special location in the environment and the Mori Finisher begins. No longer will your mori moment be “censored” by inconveniently placed objects or invasive bushes. All attention will be placed entirely on the action taking place.
Yes the person on the hook must die first before the mori happens.
Ouch, thats gonna be a stinker for survivors

I wouldn't consider it crutch just because most of the time someone will milk the loop to use dead hard, I'm pretty sure that's what you're implying anyway , these perks require you to be bad at the game literally lol whiffing alot or blowing skill checks just to have the perk activate
Nop, i meant unrelenting. Dead hard for sure is crutch though, same as noed.
-
@The_Krapper said:
Technician and unrelenting lol the two crutch perks in dead by daylight that require you be bad to get any use
Or ya know, e key.
-
Nah its worse than that.
I can tell you right now what im going to do at the end of most games. Hook the second to last survivor and then instead of hooking the last one, ill just slug him till the guy on hook dies so i can mori the last guy.
I'm sincerely sorry for however many games ill extend this way but ill keep doing it till im sick of the mori. Since atm, i love seeing them, survivors might as well bring their pajamas and a pillow so they can get comfortable on the ground.
Again, im sincerely sorry.
-
Ahh i see the problem.
Are you late on your yearly sacrifice for the MMR gods?
-
Though if its happening to you regularly im guessing its because you are playing immersed and both the killer and the survivor is sick of you. That seems like the only reasonable explanation why you alone experience this more than like once a year.
-
This is not an issue.
-
Fair point, BT shouldnt be a necessity. I hope they inclusa it in base kit at 6 seconds or roundabout

I've seen more Nea and Claudette players with COH than I ever have Mikaela players I'm ngl.
Mine bring it 9 times out of 10. Its a pretty safe assumption

Sure, but the likelyhood of a michaela having Coh is way higher than the average survivor
-
No but i used to tunnel them. After the nerfs, i dont feel the need to tunnel much as it became a bit easier for killers and people bringing coh feels fewer as well.
Maybe they will nerf Coh further with the upcoming changes, that would be nice <3
-
Calling it an exploit seems uhhh, pathetic
-
This isnt a fighting game, we dont need tight af hitboxes that are too crucial for our sick dodges.
Hell, i might have hit more people with my butt as nurse than my weapon this week though i didnt hear any survivor complain ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This isn't about at loops.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2958779#Comment_2958779
? And ? Dredge could still get from one side to the other quicker than anyone else other than Sadako with the right TV up.
'He can use his short range teleport at loops without worrying about a fatigue state.' This part is. Its unrealistic to think you can actually use his teleporting to a locker part of his kit in loops. The only part of his kit thats anti loop is the teleporting back to remnant part but while thats really good at shutting down loops its beaten by just holding w. Tldr, better than nothing anti loop.
-
@Viskod said:
In terms of map mobility he's much better than Nurse, because he's a 4.6 m/s killer that can teleport to any locker on a map, even if his teleport is slow, which it should be for its ease of use, number of charges, and how quickly it recharges.
He can use his short range teleport at loops without worrying about a fatigue state.
And if you know a survivor has gotten into a locker, then that's an instant grab. (You'd think no one would get inside a locker against Dredge, but you know people are going to get inside lockers against Dredge.)
The only thing he realistically has going for him at loops is teleporting back to his remnant but when he does that he is slow af so eventually survivors will figure out that the second he uses his power and starts moving to you, you just turn tail and book it similar to how you would run an artist. Except he is weaker than artist at loops because of how slow he is while channeling his power.
-
@Moxie said:
Mmmm yes and no.
Yes because it's similar to Spirit and that he can "return" to his Remnant for pallet mind games.
No, because Nurse exists. Who doesn't need Lockers and a much shorter CD.
Great mobility but not the best. Also, its surprisingly slow the actual teleport animation. Slower than Demogorgon methinks.
He said map mobility, not mobility. Dredge for sure has better map mobility than nurse. Nurse cant travel from one part of the map to the next willy nilly.

Ah I see, you're a troll then. Well, I wish I could say it's been nice talking to you but I won't respond to any of your nonsense anymore.

Are you implying that League of Legends is a more toxic game to play? I can assure you, none of the asinity I encountered in LoL can hold a candle to the extreme bullying from the survivor community in this game.
Nop im still talking about how DH is toxic. You are the one moving the goalpost and talking bullcrap : ) Lets just agree that you got nothing and move on lol
-
@Edilibs said:
No keep dead hard but reduce the distance it gives you slightly. You cant disable a perk and have top 3 (Nurse, Blight, Spirit) running amuck!
People barely survive these killers "with" dead hard (mainly Nurse) so removing perks is not a solution.
Is spirit still in the top 3?

I've been playing League of Legends from 2013 to 2018 when I decided to switch to DbD as my maingame and I can say with great certainty that this game has the most toxic community of any videogame out there.
I somehow doubt your definition of toxic amounts to much more than frustrating since according to you DH is the most toxic thing in game <3

The perk overhaul
I'm both excited and worried to see how it'll turn out.
Not a knock at BHVR, I'm just worried what changes will be made to perks that imo are pretty fine as is. Like Pain res for example.
I think the PR and basically all regression nerfs are in the same category as BT nerf. Part of it is being made base kit so its getting nerfed (hopefully both a good basekit regression and slower gen speeds in this case)
-
For sure has to be shaking up the meta.
-
People who claim DH is toxic is the same kind of people that claim tunneling is toxic.
Is playing the game toxic? Survivors and killers agree that it is!
-
Clearly the wrong time to post this when they just claimed they are shaking up the meta with 40 perk changes and frigging base game changes. Also today i learned that playing against the nurse, twins, huntress, cannibal and trapper is basically the same thing. Boooo i say op, booo.

The point is that Dredge is just better than Sadako and Dredge has teleportion just like Sadako. Dredge has more places to teleport, much faster, has a mindgame anti loop tool, and the list goes on. Sadako's condemned hardly makes up for her lacking teleportation.
I made this thread not only to get players opinions but also as feedback to the devs.
Dredges teleport is slow as #########
Edit: Dredge actually travels the map while teleporting unlike sadako who teleports instantly.
Its animation after teleporting is way faster, sure. But try to teleport across map and you'll see what i mean. I think it might be the slowest teleport in game if its slower than demos gates.

To manifest then demanfest and manifest again is a lot of time to do a single action. I think it's worth trying. We already have nurse that can blink through every onstacle in the game. I think a killer that can walk through pallets and window vaults isn't game breaking. Espiesially since sadako can't just m1 right away.
I would agree with you all if her manifest/demanifest was akin to wraiths cloaking/decloaking. Walking through pallets/windows could make sense then. But manifesting is way too easy and she loses basically no distance while doing it. Not to mention one small but very important detail about sadako compared to wraith is that her demanifest doesnt break chase unlike wraiths cloaking so blocking windows becomes an issue.
I like the concept of the change but her manifest/demanifest needs to be nerfed to almost wraiths level for it to be not incredibly broken.

I'm glad you're less worried!
I think a lot of people missed the part re the base changes to address why these perks are being reworked, but it's definitely going to be a major shake-up and I'm excited to share more information!
Its great that bt and maybe ds? is becoming base kit but i hope they dont forget the killer counterpart. Without some sort of corrupt base kit and some base kit gen regression/gen repair time increase the game would probably be even more frustrating for the killers.
Could you confirm for us something for the killers base kit is also in the works?

Give us more perks that affect BP gains for specific actions like ending chases quickly, using powers effectively, or survivor support actions like team heals. Encourage good gameplay by bribing us. More options would mean more perk variety.
I would 100% run a 4 bp gain perks build on pretty much all my games lol
-
Ooooooh a twins buff idea!
-
What? Do people actually consider Nemesis good?
I feel bad for the guy, whips are basically 3rd health states and unlike DH, this gives survivor a speed boost.
Even if you infect some one they can go pick up an item to undo that and next time you see them, they will again have 3 health states.
Your power starts out pretty weak and if you are against decent survivors by the time you unlock your 3rd tier its probably close to end game.
Crouching behind basically the smallest object renders you immune to his tentacle.
Tentacle not being able to injure a survivor when its breaking a pallet is hilarious. You get amazing moments like hitting a survivor vaulting a pallet and the tentacle i guess going through them to break the pallet instead.
Its an annoying to play killer. I would like to see him reworked so he either doesnt start at tier 1 or his infection cant be removed at all.
IMO he is just a noob stomper.

If the new prestige system is all the grind reduction (well, along the removal of mori offerings )is about then that's a bit disappointing. The grind for add-ons still is gonna be insane if you play several different killers.
I mean sure but at least game will be a shitton easier to pick up for newer players. That is an amazing change for the health of the game <3

@ThiccBudhha said:
Borrowed time is becoming a base mechanic for survivors, so it needs reworked regardless.
Barbecue is mostly just used for the BP. No idea why they do not know that, but whatever. Very little will change unless they nerf the BP gain, and even if they do, the grind reduction makes BBQ less relevant anyways.
Did we get a confirmation on base mechanic changes? Pretty neat if we did. Are they moving corrupt to base as well? That would be amazing <3
-
@Peanits said:
As you've mentioned, you could just as easily not down them if you want to let them escape. If you insist on 'establishing dominance', getting close enough to down them and choosing not to still sends the same message.
Or you guys could let us choose between picking up and killing. Though that would be a nerf since this way you can probably down the last survivor right at the gates and it will immediately start the mori before they can get out, which is neat <3

"I'M GLAD IT HELPS OTHERS GRINDS. AS IT DOES NOTHING FOR ME OR THE OTHERS WHO HAVE NO NEED TO PRESTIGE CHARACTERS THEY DON'T PLAY I'D THINK YOU COULD UNDERSTAND MY FRUSTRATION."
Take a reading comprehension course. His suggestion is that they rework their current planned changes so it's not all about prestige.
It's a stupid change anyway.
It takes 5mil BP to get to P3.
It takes around 1 mil to get to level 40 and unlock the perks.
Another 3-4 mil to get the perks on any specific character.
How much does this reduce the grind versus removing all perk tiers and/or letting people get 4 perks at level 50?
For several months of thought and effort this is a lame change.
Look at it this way going to p1 on a character will instantly net you tier 1 of all 3 of their perk on whoever you were trying to unlock it on. Even without going to p2 that will save you a lot of bp on that character because uctually finding those 3 perks sometimes takes more than 10 tries.
Unless if you have like all perks unlocked on that character already, in which case and in case you dont care about unlocking those perks for any other character for some reason, you shouldnt be having any problems with grind anyway since you really arent spending much bp anyway to keep 1 fully stacked guy current.
I love the change, as weird as saying that is.
Good job dbd!
-
@Basement_Bubba420 said:
So its around 5 million BP per character to get all their perks at T3 for everyone else.
Where as before it was 1.3 million BP to unlock the perks, and depending on how many perks you don't have unlocked could be another 3-4 million to unlock the perks you want.
How much exactly does this reduce the grind?
Its a big reduction for killers, we basically had to unlock those for each killer we played. Its basically a nerf (i guess?) for survivors becausee putting all your perks on 1 survivor was fine as is.
I'm pretty happy with the changes.Get 1 guy to 50, get tier 1 of his perks on all killers. Thats pretty amazing. I'm a little afraid of the bbq changes though.

How to nerf surv meta perks:
Dead hard: No distance gain or really really few you become intangible for 1 sec. Enought to avoid damage if u timed it.
DS: its okay
BT: Survivor who got BT recieved a spring burst and becomes intangible also have the commom endurance effect.
COH: No healing by yourself but ur pathners heals you faster.
Thats my opinion on surv perks
Hmm good ideas but it could be better:
Dead hard: No distance gain or really really few you become intangible for 1 sec. Enought to avoid damage if u timed it.
DS: its okay
BT: Survivor gets a gun and can fly at 75% speed.
COH: No healing by yourself but ur pathners heals you faster.
Thats my opinion on surv perks

Definitely in less matches after the nerfs. Hopefully it goes down even further with the upcoming perks <3 What an annoying perk that was, glad its getting nerf after nerf : )
-
Yay we get to see moris more consistently <3
Oh and we can just down the guy that gets unhooked and chase the survivors out of the gate to secure the last kill with a mori. How neat is that! I'm loving these changes, amazing stuff. Go dev team!

inb4 no killers run it and continue to complain about boons anyway.
I mean would you run a perk that says if your opponent is the trickster, gain 15% haste.

I think it's about the part where they said about working on some player behaviors/tactics (I'm paraphrasing) but it wasn't too detailed.
I thought it was about camping, tunneling, gen-rushing ... pretty general.
They've spoken about other "little" things but without giving too many details, I didn't put them on my list.
Ooh it will be interesting to see how they tackle it. Maybe a nerfed version of ds and bt base kit for survivors or hook time goes faster if killer isnt nearby but slower when they are etc. Spice things up a little bit <3
