It could be just for PTB as I feel like this PTB is rushed out

Yeah I feel like that as well but since they are working at home, I can understand.

  • Maybe, but again Bubba is liscensed so there might be some complications, for Billy I really don't know why

  • It sucks but, heh I don't mind you just gotta give them a reason to stop working on gens

  • I would say David for survivor.

For killers, Pyramid Head, plague, and Clown.

Pyramid head because its not his power but his perks that make it difficult, One of them (Forced pennance) Is literal garbage its so bad to the point I can't call it a perk at all, but a common attack with one tiny benefit, and If you don't play him right its a literal gg for survivors.

Plague because of how she gains points, now I actually almost got a adept plague with a 4k but I didn't get Merciless so I didn't get it. It mostly has to do with the way she gains points, she is not meant for ranking but for fun but it doesn't hurt to try.

Clown because he is to some the worst killer in the game, however one of his perks (Pop goes the weasel) is one of the best in the game so that gives you benefit, but his other two particularly coulrophobia doesn't do much, now Bamboozle is great for canceling out loops but if the survivor know the loops its gonna be tough. But if you give him the right addons and know how to counter loops you can do it, I mean I got adept for Clown and I'm proud of it, since hes one of my favorite killers.

  • Final letter today everyone lets get excited, I finally will share to you the title of the next fan made chapter. Now it is not entirely finished but I promise I will get it done before the end of the week.

    The FInal letter is

    K.

With the final letter if you put them altogether they spell out PineBrook. So there you go, The title has been answered and now all I have to do is finish the project and then you can look at it and enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for all who participated and I'll see you all in the fog

Assuming we're talking about unlicensed killers... honestly I can see Deathslinger getting a movie. His lore is actually really really good.

Yeah Deathslinger, But I've seen some other examples but deathslinger is my highest pick

  • @Seanzu said:

Billy doesn't have a downsides beside just being bad at using him, making the game easier by nerfing loops & pallets made this change necessary, anyone who can't see that is just biased.

    Finally thank you

  • Now I'm a bit jealous I don't have this much materials or artistic styles at my disposal

  • I think his lore said that he suffered a serious injury that left him limp and vowed vengeance in one of his cosmetic sets, but I'm not totally sure.

  • @TheArchivist said:

For the graphical update, is the intention to change on all maps? or just for some?

I think for all of them except the more newer maps like dead dog and midwich but yeah I'd say it for all maps

  • I would talk to @MandyTalk or as @Doddle28 said try to speak with people who work on this forum about this

  • Interesting idea but it be harder to see their items

  • Yeah he is because if you give him the right perks and play him well its a gg for the killer.

  • I think the thing is that billy is such a personal kilelr to the community sinc ehe was one of the original killers and people at times are scared of change particularly something that has been around for quite a while like Billy

  • @Boss said:

Some people see him as the closest a Killer has ever been to being perfectly balanced.

So practically any change to him, buff or nerf, would've been met with criticism.

Though to me it seems that Carburetor Tuning Guide + Primer Bulb is a combination people generally wouldn't mind seeing nerfed.

Wait really? I don't know about that but I get what your saying

  • I'm a bit late sorry but the eighth letter is

    O.

Final letter is tommorow, and all will be revealed of my next project. See you then

This isn't lobby music but this would be pretty swell for Clown.

    https://youtu.be/0CJmKbzy9GQ

    not bad

  • I think its kinda a cool idea but at the same time Idk how I would honestly feel about it

  • Thats an immediate no, because a lot of weaker killer like clown, leather face and others really rely on this perk and if it was a hex and destroyed at the start of the game, you were screwed basically. And sometimes they need that info, plus sometimes you don't see the survivors at all on smaller maps, secondly you get blood points for this, so I don't ever want to see it become a hex, when ruin got nerfed that was bad enough as is, don't take away another good killer perk, at least not this one.

  • @Cancan71 said:

I'm looking forward to the PTB to see all the new changes but I do have two questions about how the new Franklin's Demise will work.

    1) Will Franklin's Demise work on any item that has been dropped or will it only work on items that have been dropped by a basic attack? I could see people dropping keys or other items until they need them if the latter is the case.

    2) Will Franklin's Demise work on items in chests? Say for example if someone loots a chests but decides not to pick it up would the perk still steal the item? This would be a hard counter against Plunderer's Instinct.

With that said I'm looking forward to seeing how the changes affect the game.

I mean it usually does for the first one with the current franklins, for number 2 it might, it did say if any item is left on the ground it would be consumed but I'm not sure if it had to be hit with franklins demise? I don't know but that it a good question that should be considered.

oof that it is rough, I don't ever want that at as swf team ever

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

From current blight cosmetics we can see that the corruption affects each killer indiviually. Most changes have metaphorical background behind them: Nurse who strangled her patients is being suffocated by her innard, Wraith who died inside after knowing he killed people has a hole in his chest and his whole appearance is no longer humane, but fully monstrous, Clown used paint to put a smile on his face, which he eventually carved on his face, Doctor who experimented with his patients became a stitched abomination and so on.

Each blight cosmetic represents something that happened with killers in the past, something they did or something that is their true nature and it reveals it, makes their appearance fit what they are on the inside. My guess for the next cosmetics is that each of them would keep that leitmotiff

Legion's blight would probably fuse them, unite them as they are nothing without each other.

Oni's blight would show his demonic and raging nature, he'll lose his human form once corrupted with blight.

Deathslinger would probably reveal his vengenful self.

There is also a little possibility for Demogorgon and Ghostface to have blight skins as these killers both have received cosmetics designed by BHVR personally.

I like the way you think and I never looked at the blight cosmetics like that before

There are 4 set outfits in the next patch for Jane, Clown, Oni, and Pyramid Head. RIP

Yeah, it's a pretty cosmetic too.

Too bad it's forcibly stuck as a set.

I hope this isn't how cosmetics are from now on though maybe they'll get rid of them and leave them only for legendary sets because I can only see it work with them like that.

According to the dev stats I recall from the past, something like 70% of matches have SWF in some form whether its 2,3, or 4 on the team.

However, most will still be lackluster at the game and just playing with friends,.. you will KNOW without a doubt when you get a 3-4man SWF that will bully you. But dont give up, battle them often and get better and one day you will stand over their corpse in the fog.

or youll get a ton of BP and lose with dignity that you did not give up and kept fighting on, but you will learn their tactics as time goes on.

Thanks for the self confidence <3

  • Yeah I've recently had games like that but again I asked out of random curiosity.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1412715#Comment_1412715

I mean, fair enough, but in the way Pyramid Head operates, or even the boogeyman, they don't just target random individuals just because. They target specific sinners, or other beings in the mind of their target (which is why for James he would kill other creatures and torture Maria. Which is why, again, I believe the Entity definitely does try and manipulate Pyramid Head, but that is possibly the most control he has over him. But considering that the Entity is still able to bring Cheryl back to life if he kills her.

I mean it makes sense as to how he can keep Pyramid Head there, he will continue to exist as long as his target is alive, and as Cheryl can't die permanently as long as they're in the realm. If the story was to continue at some point the way I see it ending for them is Pyramid Head has enough and through the power of the other world, drags Cheryl with him into the other world out of The Entity's reach. But I doubt they would finish two characters like that.

    true

  • @jorkle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1412407#Comment_1412407

The only reason I think that the entity would be capable of pulling someone like Pyramid Head into his realm and not a being like Pennywise is that Pennywise is an entity all his own while Pyramid Head is merely an extension of another entity. However this Pyramid Head is different than the incarnation that chased James, hell more than likely this Pyramid Head is actually just The Boogeyman variant since that one looks different than the one we see in Silent Hill 2 (specifically there is a hole in the helmet, a small one mind you, while in Silent Hill 2 he is dressed in rags and there is an opening in the helmet for the tongue. And THAT Pyramid Head is an extension of Silent Hill as it seeks to punish and render judgment unto sinners. (in reality though... He would probably target the other killers if he ever truly broke the entity's control) it is possible that the Entity is able to confuse or manipulate The Executioner to target the survivors, but most of the survivors are genuinely innocent of wrong doing besides maybe some minor things.

But I do believe that in comparison of powers Silent Hill's the otherworld is as powerful if not more powerful than the entity as it is capable of bleeding into the real world (like The Entity) in the form of fog, BUT it is also capable of spawning creatures even without the people being in the other world, and the other world is much more stable than the realms of The Entity as we never see it collapse in the way that The Entity's trial realms do.

I mean currently I found out recently that pyramid head is in the realm of the entity to punish Cheryl Mason as confirmed in his prestige 3 cosmetic

  • @jorkle said:

Ok so I know this is a bit out there, and this is the first time I've mad a theory like this so please don't shoot me down too hard. But from what I've gathered when it comes to the Entity, as powerful as he is, he isn't omnipotent, he only controls those within his pocket dimension, however he is meant to have total control.

Now hear me out, I believe that while the entity was able to entice Pyramid Head into the fog, I don't believe he has total control over Pyramid Head as he does other killers. Most he has to bargain with but he can't bargain with Pyramid Head, and the way Pyramid Head operates seems vastly different from other killers. Note his rites of judgment appearance and how it is described. "The Great Knife splits the ground, giving rise to an infernal construct and spreading agony to all who approach." That gives the impression that it is more than the entity.

Where Pyramid Head treads it seems he can bring the other world into the entity, the other world is an entity all it's own, now one could say that the entity allows this to happen, but if that were the case why not it simply be how he allows Freddy to pull survivors into the dreaming world?

My theory is that the Entity is more than aware of the otherworld and as such tries to keep himself separate, but that is why when Pyramid Head leaves the trail it looks like a wound in the ground and when Pyramid Head or survivors touch it the entity loses some influence and control over them.

If we consider the cage of atonement something all of Pyramid Head's and by extension, the other world's design, then that would make sense how Pyramid Head can create that when the survivors run through his trail. Again if we take it as the trail is the influence of the other world within the entity itself. The entity isn't omnipotent, and the power of the other world allows Pyramid Head as well as survivors to in a way, break connection with the entity. Even one of the items of Pyramid Head, the obsidian goblet, allows him to COMPLETELY break his connection with the entity by becoming undetectable as long as he remains on his trail.

This would also allow him to execute survivors when he sees fit as he doesn't obey the entity and when the other world has it's clutches into a survivor (through torment) it allows Pyramid Head to disregard the regular rules of sacrifice with his own methods including executing the survivors on his own terms without need of the entity telling how to kill them.

Of course all this can be chalked up to game mechanics, but I like looking at things from a different perspective, and really it isn't all that far fetched when we realize that not only is the Entity not omnipotent, but other killers have been shown to be capable of wresting control from the entity before such as through the Huntress's perk Beasts of Prey where the flavor text reads "your lust for a kill is so intense that your connection with The Entity is momentarily lost, making you totally unpredictable."

This means that it isn't impossible for humans (and others) on their owns to break control, now imagine a being that is from an alternate plane of existence that thrives on human torment and is born of their very guilt where the realm itself can shape the world however it pleases in the eyes of every human who witnesses it to the point where two people can witness the other world completely differently from one another.

My "in conclusion" is this. The entity is able to hold Pyramid Head, but out of all the killers has the least control of him as Pyramid Head's connection with the other world is much stronger than it is with the entity, and the entity only has control of Pyramid Head while their goals are the same, but if Pyramid Head wishes to act differently, then the Entity has little control to stop him.

(again sorry for the very long post, I had just been thinking about this for a while and I just really wanted to say this to see how you all would react to it. Please don't throw hate, but I will accept genuine criticism because I doubt this theory is perfect in any way.)

I mean that doesn't sound far fetched there are some beings like Pennywise if he were added to that game the entity would barely have control over.

    Yeah thats sounds better

If there is an OoO its almost guaranteed its an SWF and you must buckle up for an almost impossible game.

Yeah I've figured that as much

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Well have you ever played SWF before? If not there's a real easy tell tale sign. Communication, if all four Survivors are coordinating together that's how you know. And I mean like a Survivor learning information that they shouldn't know if they were solo. Of course some solo Survivors are just that good at the game so it can be hard to tell at times.

Example: Lets say you're running Enduring and Spirit Fury. After you get to proc the first time if you notice all the other Survivors suddenly dropping pallets early even though there's no way they could know, then they're communicating. Its signs like this that give it away.

Oh wow yeah I've been getting many games like that

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1409512#Comment_1409512

Players would just dodge if they see it in the Lobby.

Having the same Perks is btw. no Indicator at all. Survivors only have like 6 Perks which can be considered Meta, just logical that the Builds all look roughly the same.

Okay that helps I was just curious?

  • @danielmaster87 said:

You never know. 4 years in and there's still no SWF indicator.

    Wish there was

  • @MeatBycicle said:

The only real way is to check friends list on steam in pre-game lobby. In red ranks for the past 32 games in a row there has been a minimum of 2 if not 3 SWF in every game. I've been keeping track in a log of every game ive played since getting red ranks as killer. You see more solo play in every rank other than red and its incredibly frustrating going against SWF every damn game.

    ah I see

  • @Fog_King said:

Of course I feel empathy for the player, at least most times. If the killer was fair, but things went wrong or sometimes if a survivor is just unlucky, being farmed by the team, being the one found time after time, it's sad for them. When playing survivor, 99% of the time, I don't t-bag or do anything to be toxic to the killer. Of course if I ran them around for a long time, they might consider that as annoying, but it's not toxic.

Meanwhile, I see survivors t-bagging at every pallet, at missed attacks and at the gates and still don't understand why people do this. With Ghostface, I see him t-bagging too, sometimes unprovoked. Killers trying to hit survivors that are hooked (not that they can do it now, but they try). People need to try to be more civil to each other. Behind every character there's a person with feelings.

They do it just to feel good and the only time I did t-bag was just to see what it wa like and it was boring like wait for a single killer, really it was more boring than to do the gens

  • Fourth letter is

  • @StardustSpeedway said:

Yes. If I'm playing survivor and I see that the killer can't get any downs or if I know he's making a ton of mistakes during a chase, I'll let myself get downed and give him a hook. Don't care if I get camped or die during end game collapse.

As killer, it's pretty obvious to me when I'm playing against new players. I try to chase them, hook them once or twice to give them the thrill of the chase, and let them escape. During this event, I was letting everyone escape so survivors could get their crowns. If someone disconnects as soon as the match begins, I also let them complete the gens and escape after hooking them several times. I was surprised at how many appreciation/thank you's I got from survivors from letting them get their crowns.

Its sad that people take advantage of something like this and its not cool for either side.

  • @Trial_By_Scythe said:

Yeah, I feel bad for anyone having a bad game. It amazes me how many people lack empathy, and treat people in a way which they would not want to be treated.

I jsut wish this was a friendlier community we all do.

  • @JasonS said:

I don't know why I'd feel sad for the other team considering I am on a giant lose streak. Some games on killer I can barely scrape together 8K points.

    @LordRegal said:

I play too much killer to not feel bad for them if they're having a terrible game. If I know everyone is safe and the door is open, I'm out. I know how frustrating it is to have people not leave and I don't want to be "that survivor who wants Mommy/Daddy to show up and escort them out" because I know how much I hate it as killer. Also why I don't BM. Doesn't matter how toxic the killer is being, no point in being a dick back to them about it.

And sadly that's what the toxicity of this game is doing to people making them more careless than before about others and it sucks I think this is where the toxicity come from, carelessness.

  • @Taiga said:

As long as the killer doesn’t tunnel or camp I’m actually glad if he gets a atleast one kill in the end. Since I know how frustrating it can be especially with the current matchmaking.

I mean I don't get mad at kilelr if he tunnels but if he does it from the start I do get mad but near the end game not really because I can tell he or she is desperate, they know they're screwed and trying to make up for it so I respect that

  • @Owlzey said:

Yup I feel bad. I actually hate it when I see my teammates teabag and act toxic towards the killer at the gates, especially if they didn't tunnel or camp. Makes me wanna smack 'em.

ME too I'm like dude what if the killer is having a rough day already lets not add onto that

  • @Mookywolf said:

i had a match a while ago where it was VERY clear the killer was having his first match. he hit one person after 4 gens were done, and after all 5 nothing more happened. everyone else went to the gates, opened it, i think only one stayed to t-bag infront of him. but i stood there and let him stalk then down me because he was Myers. poor guy didn't even know how to pick me up, he swung twice before finally picking me up and hooking me. and at the end screen my suspicions were confirmed. he was a rank 20 with only Dying Light, and i was i think rank 10 at the time, had two red rank teammates and a rank 14. so, yeah if its a game like that where they dont get any hooks, or maybe a couple of hooks, i usually sacrafice myself for them.

Aw thats sad but with the new rank system it should help balance it out

1 … 54 55 56 57 58 … 63
