  • I've noticed that the game loves connecting survivors to far away servers. I see 80+ ping far too often, even when I'm playing survivor.

  • CoH made solo queue so much more bearable it isn't funny.

  • If I ever get my hands on the Doctor I'll have to try out those perks, they sound fun (for the killer)! I might try out that Demo build too whenever I get around to leveling him up more.

  • He is without a doubt the rarest killer I see followed by Hag and Twins.

Idk what tier 4 Myers build is but a build I always have fun with on Myers is perma exposed Myers. Make your choice, Devour hope, haunted grounds, NOED. For some reason this build has been my go to on Myers and is just so fun lately. To compliment powers we have corrupt, dead lock, thrilling, and DMS on Hag. Allows you to keep your game nice and set up while blocking gens so you can keep up your traps. Tinkerer, Dark Devotion, TOT, Floods Of rage is a fun build on Ghostface since you get a LOT of undetectable without using your power so you get to pocket your power a lot more + floods of rage lets you know where to start heading while sneaky.

Tier 4 Myers consists of Coupe De Grace, Fire Up, and Bamboozle. Basically all of these perks synergize very well together and with Michael's tier 3 mode. The more gens survivors complete the stronger Michael becomes. I think the intended 4th perk for this build is Distressing but I like to swap it out with other random perks (Monitor and Abuse, BBQ, Play With Your Food, Lethal Pursuer, etc).

That Ghost Face build sounds interesting. Undetectable perks on him never really interested me, but I suppose getting survivors to 99% without having to use your power to sneak up to them has its benefits. I figure perks like Rancor Claustrophobia and Coupe De Gras would synergize really well with his power- not that I've tried them on him yet.

  • @Azshhh said:

    I love distortion.

Other survivors sometimes say it's a bad perk because it keeps attention off you even when your teammates need assistance. And my response would be... you're damn right. I don't WANT the killers attention, and I sure af don't wanna be tunneled & camped by a lethal pursuer Blight.

    Godspeed non-distortion users xD

I've been seeing survivors use this perk more and more. I wouldn't call it bad at all considering it hard counters lethal pursuer and the bbq repellent is very strong in the right situations.

  • Myers - Coupe De Grace with Fire Up and Bamboozle (Not sure if Bamboozle is meta or not, doesn't really seem like anyone uses it)

Survivor - Head On, Built to Last, Flash Bang, Pharmacy, Plunder, Ace In The Hole, Parental Guidance, Empathetic Connection, Quick and Quiet, Pebble etc etc

Really most perks in the game are fun to use and offer an enjoyable experience at this point.

  • Please just fix skill checks popping gens before the audio cue has even played.

  • As of right now the only thing that matters to me is having fun... It's easier said than done.

  • It's definitely pay to win.

The grind involved has set that in stone.

  • 100% poor game design.

  • IDK. She seems like one of the best killers in the game when someone actually knows how to play as her.

I know why they're not Special attacks, but with the advent of abominations such as Starstruck Nurse, I thought I'd hear what everyone else has to say.

When I asked, I was given 3 reasons why Nurse's attacks are basic.

    1) She is so reliant on her blinks that she would otherwise functionally have no basic attack

    2) While having some small differences, her post-blink lunges are otherwise nearly identical to a basic attack

    3) She pre-dates the special/basic attack distinction. Going back to change it causes "issues." This is an assumption, but I THINK we saw a glimpse of this with how buggy her Post-Blink grab cancel was (to the point she got disabled even).

But should they go through the effort anyway? I look forward to seeing your reasoning down below.

Yes assuming it's after a blink. Blights should too if it's immediately after the first bounce.

  • This one time all of us survivors spawned in by a barrel fire and we memed til our hearts were content. Once the killer showed up we chased him back to the shack. It was all fun and games until he hit me.

Solo cue has forced me to run DS. I used to be an anti DS advocate but these days, it's almost Garaunteed cause farming off hook still exists in 2022

I know that feel. I was forced to start playing killer more frequently because of the farming and tunneling.

  • @UnluckyDucky said:

So I've had this happen TWICE to me TODAY. Either I'm the unluckiest person on the planet or there is a fat bug in the game right now.

I was basement hooked and I got unhooked with a BT, as I'm running out theres a freaking Nemesis Zombie just standing at the top of the basement stairs, unable to go around, so I just eat the hit with BT, but lo and behold, Nemesis just standing right outside the shack and he downs me instantly because my BT got burned by the zombie.

A few games later, I am being unhooked in basement. No BT, and my rescuer also is injured--and there is another zombie LITERALLY in the basement. It was standing on that tiny platform that is just as you enter the basement coming around the corner. IDK how the other survivor missed it when they came down, but they did, so we were both stuck in the basement with it and had to lure it away from the stairs to get out but by that time Nemesis was able to come down to us because of the unhook trigger noise.

So it feels insanely unfair to completely get sandbagged by an NPC zombie.

Zombies are attracted to all loud noises including unhooks and running survivors.

  • That would make a lot more sense for the character and it might actually convince me to use the add-on. Change the goblet so that survivors inflicted with torment suffer from the oblivious status effect and I just might start playing as pyramid head more often.

  • Pyramid Head.

It gives you a chance to see like maybe one person's aura without being bothered.

  • Do you have ttv in your name?

  • @RakimSockem said:

So from what everyone is saying, you literally need a whole build to make it "almost" useful (if you go down near a pallet and are left on the ground long enough to get to a pallet and recover XD

Yeah and once the killer realizes you have it they'll simply wait for you to bleed out the next time they down you.

  • A few days back I had the full backpack build on Nemesis and it actually won me the game. I thought I'd be lucky to get 1-2k but the survivors just kind of hand delivered me the game.

Perks like Decisive Strike, Dead Hard and Borrowed Time really aren't that good outside of a SWF. Survivors should really focus on consistent value in solo play not gamble on high risk perks that can go entire games without being used.

If your team doesn't know you have Borrowed Time, they won't necessarily play around it. They might "steal" saves that would have been more optimal for you to get or take hits for someone with endurance.

If your team doesn't know you have Decisive Strike you'll only really get to use it as a last resort. Some teammates will take hits or even go down for a Survivor that they're afraid is getting tunneled and doesn't have DS.

At high MMR, Killers often times fully expect Dead Hard, which limits its use. In fact, some games you'll get more value NOT having Dead Hard because of a Killer respecting it. Dead Hard will have its uses but it will be played around whenever possible and only really get value from playing intentionally greedy, which in itself can be a more predictable playstyle. With the exception being anti-loop Killers that Dead Hard specifically counters like Nurse, Hag and Huntress.

Pay attention next game. The Survivors that survive tend to be the ones running Boons, Kindred, Bond, Sprint Burst, Overcome, Spine Chill, Built to Last, or Resilience. Good perks but not the typical "sweat" build from 2017. The Survivors burning a perk slot on things their team or the Killer might not even let them use tend to die first in my experience.

If I'm playing to win my solo build looks something like -

    Windows, Bond, CoH, Dead Hard

Normally I play for my challenges (nearly done all of those unfortunately) or I'll just have fun, but MMR has started forcing me to "play rough" more often.

  • Yeah it sucks but it's not like behavior is ever going to fix it. The game is simply poorly designed.

If i am not wrong Kate based by Sally Hardesty, last girl at first movie. But then they changed, they put her to another chapter. I don't remember what was reason

I think you're right! I don't know if it was ever confirmed but speculation suggests she was intended to release with Bubba but then went to Clown.

  • DBD List.png

Kate is only that high because she reminds me of the TCM movies.

It goes without saying that legendary cosmetics go into the same tier as their base character. Although I feel like the stranger things character is almost always a hacker.

  • Wow. This whole time I thought she just had mantis hands. I never once questioned it.

  • Same. My Nemesis builds have been revolving around noise notifications in an attempt to utilize them more but if the zombies aren't there they simply don't do anything. I wish the openness of the map would dictate zombie behavior a little more.

Yes W-keying away works but it is also something you can abuse for the survivor. I expect them to do so, which is why I will put out a dire towards the next loop. She isn't as basic as most would think.

You just made me realize that zanshin tactics could really help me out when I get around to playing her.

  • Would teleporting through lockers make sense for Chucky? That's the upcoming killers power is it not? It's been a few years since I've seen any Chucky movies so I don't remember if they had him jumping out of stuff.

  • The last few days for me have been corn and autohaven back to back.

Have been playing a fair bit more survivor recently. While I think there would at least be a loose consensus on the killers people dread seeing, which ones make you happy to see?

    For me:

Demo. Rare, tend to be pretty mannered. Plus, every Demo feels different - from the 'battle demo' types to the ones that ping pong all over the map. Strong enough to be interesting, but not overwhelming.

Cenobite. Was a little bit more common for a while after the voice release, but somewhat rare again now. Really different to face. As long as people aren't pooping the sheets while carrying the box, he's rather fun.

Artist. Basically ditto Cenobite. Fun back and forth.

Ghostface. Memelord supremes. Seldom a dull killer to face, loses a few points because a lot of them like to camp.

I enjoy going up against most killers when I'm not burnt out, although I mostly enjoy the licensed killers for obvious reasons.

  • @Nos37 said:

What if they took the 5 or 10 least used survivor perks and let survivors pick one of them to equip for free; same with killer perks?

The perks could update each season.

I wouldn't complain. I just want more synergy with my builds.

  • I was thinking about this myself. Some killers (and survivors) like to dedicate builds for endgame so allowing them to utilize those perks immediately sounds like a good decision. The biggest downside that comes to mind is that lack of blood points being spread around.

  • If they were to go through with something like this I think it would be best to avoid meta picks as they might encourage the selection of certain characters over others. I think that for survivors aura reading perks and exhaustion perks should also be avoided as they may force a playstyle or get in the way of similar perks.

  • I'm not sure why they do it but it happens to me all the time.

Even today I had a Quentin bring the whole squad to the RPD just to die on his first hook. Luckily my team was great and the killer was a tad bit lost.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/317530/whats-the-point-of-the-nurse

It's not because she's OP (she's very strong, but I don't see this much against Blight or Huntress).

Sadly, there are just a few killers that survivors hate playing against. Cenobite, Hag, Plague, Nurse and Doctor are the first ones that come to mind.

Cenobite is one that never made sense to me. He's fun to play against if the team knows what they are doing.

  • I'm really feeling this. I'd love to prestige but it would literally cost me millions of bp.

  • Nem, Myers, Pyramid, Bubba.

I've only recently started playing killer so I'm still getting used to it all. I really want to play as Ghost Face more but he feels too powerless most of the time.

  • About Nemesis working like the og RE3 - I think it would be best if they recreated that through add-ons which would create a subclass similar to scratch mirror/tombstone Myers and body block/teleporting Hag. Maybe they could make an add-on that replaces the tentacle with a shoulder bash that can break pallets/doors and takes away the zombie's ability to damage survivors. Then give us other add-ons that compliment it like one that allows zombies grab infected survivors or something.

Why should you map offering take priority when you are relaying on a map to carry you? I get that he is not a chase killer in this state but like if you relay on the map then this strategy is not viable. As a survivor and I think killer you have offerings that black map offerings all together. Also if you let Michael have priority then Ghost face and every other killer is going to want that treatment as well (I say ghosty cause he does better on some maps and worse on others). Then survivors will cry because their map offerings are being ignored and that is not fair. Scratched Mirror Myre's is not viable in this meta because of boons. It may be time to change his addon to make it better. Seeing through Shadow step with the addon's ability only could help.

When Myers uses his scratched mirror he is already throwing the game just to have some fun. There is nothing more boring than playing survivor against a scratch mirror Michael on an open map, I should know because I've played gen simulator a few times thanks to his offerings getting trumped by randoms.

Sorry if I didn't respond to some of your other points. I stopped reading at the first sentence.

  • I haven't had many issues playing scratched mirror recently but I do think that Michael should get a bit of leeway when using it. On top of being able to see through boons I think that any map offering he brings should take priority over all others. It really is one of the last few remaining ways to make this game scary.

  • I was really hoping for an actual rework. This is more along the lines of some slight tweaks and a few add-on changes.

  • @Gigante said:

Yes, killers are forced to tunnel and maybe even camp because of the loop design (alot of jungle gyms), the absurd amount of pallets, and the excessive use of dead hard and this current SBMM that only benefits survivors.

No way does SBMM benefit survivors. All of my most recent matches have been thrown because of my teammates. Thankfully I never played killer too so much all of my killer time is now 10X more enjoyable than my survivor time.

  • What really gets on my nerves is when they aren't even live. I think maybe 30% of those people are ever really streaming.

  • I've been feeling this more and more. Take a break now and come back later. This really isn't the kind of game that anyone should be playing regularly.

  • Nemesis + Pyramid Head

    Michael + Bubba

    Freddy + J- oh wait

  • I'm very excited for the haddonfield rework and any killer reworks would be icing on the cake.

  • Headless horseman would be cool.

Horseless headless horsemann would make me freak out.

  • I hope they release this soon. I miss having it around.

  • It looks way better but I need more photos before passing judgment.
