  • I’ll stop using self care when I start getting reliable teammates consistently.

  • I don’t get it. I was just killer and in two rounds in a row there was a key and neither one got used. Just do your job!

You can say it's a circle jerk as much as you want, but that doesn't make it true. There's nothing to discuss about the mechanic. It works 100% as intended. It is by no means meant to be a free escape even 10% of the time, and it doesn't need to be looked at.

and I say this as a complete Survivor main, so I'm not speaking out of bias. It's simply something that doesn't need to be changed.

Lol. Of course it isn’t true. He was saying it was “literally” a circle jerk. That would be gross.

  • I hate how I always seem to 100% the wiggle just as the hook animation begins. On my end it always seems like I have to wiggle to 102% to break free.

Dont worry those rewards are not worth to grind trought the rift anyways, such a poor cosmetics there if we compare them to the ones wich are in the store..

Well, if you buy the pass and get to tier 70, you gain back all of the auric cells you put into it and can use them to buy whatever cosmetic or characters you want. This has been how I paid for the Silent Hill and Saw chapters.

  • Most of the challenges are relatively easy. Only a few of them are truly tricky, you just need to know which perks and add ons to run to make the job less of a chore. The hard part is that you still have to grind out a ton of games beyond them to get to tier 70, and even more if you don’t do all of the challenges.

At the moment I’m at tier 43.

I got it first try, it's not really so hard if you're willing to be a bit toxic and embarrass yourself.

Spawn in and drop a pallet, vault it until you hear the killer coming towards you, then pick up pallet. Camp the pallet and get hit and then drop it on the killer.

In theory, no it isn’t difficult. In practice though against red rank killers with ranged abilities they definitely aren’t guaranteed. You’re going to have far more luck against hag, trapper, twins, blight, and pig than you will against PH, Slinger, Huntress. And the trick of taking a hit to guarantee a stun won’t work against Leatherface or Myers unless they are total noobs.

  • @My_Aespa said:

Was very easy actually since you don't have to reset it while in a chase, I dropped it at the beginning, immediately reset it, hid behind it before the killer came, and then surprised them with it 😋

Which killer and what was their rank?

  • For those of you that got it first try, which killer did you get?

  • Fourth round: Huntress.

Oh great, another ranged killer, I thought as I heard her lullaby. But lol, it wasn’t even 45 seconds into the match before she came up from behind me and literally struck me the exact second I righted the pallet which allowed me to get the stun!

  • Third round: Leatherface. He just revved his chainsaw to get ready to destroy it whenever he got close to a pallet. No dice.

As I expected this challenge was going to be annoying.

  • Tried it twice last night. First round it was Pyramid Head and true to form when he hit me he went right through me missing the pallet. Subsequent attempts were fruitless because of his ranged attack. Second round was Myers who just stood there and stared at me as expected. Turned out he was running unlimited Tier 3 too. Figures.

  • It’s capitalism at work. If people weren’t willing to pay that much then they couldn’t charge that much. If you want to see lower prices and more sales, don’t buy them.

  • I was on a hook last night and another person came along to unhook me while I was struggling but got interrupted by the killer. From my POV I began floating away until someone else came to rescue me.

So I managed to complete this challenge before a single gen had been fixed as an Ace got downed near me. I was then chased by the killer for the rest of the match and when I was eventually hooked...

I was camped and repeatedly hit until I died. 10/10 challenge would do again. Sorry not sorry Rin. 😇

I’m actually impressed you were able to engage in a chase. For me, after a couple of rounds I realized that a 20% increase wasn’t going to cut it just being nearby. I had to take one hit on the way to the hook to slow the killer down and then another one while blocking the hook to give him enough time to escape his grasp.

You can say you’ve seen it a lot, but rank 1’s and 2’s don’t run with it hardly ever. 3’s and 4’s occasionally.

It entirely depends upon how obsessed they are with keeping their rank 1 status, and apparently there are plenty like that. NOED is an insurance policy of sorts for the more paranoid players. You keep saying they don’t, but they do. They’re out there.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2017868#Comment_2017868

I do the same, and NOED shows up maybe once in a hundred matches against an actual red rank. I can’t remember the last time I saw it with a rank 1 killer. There is a big skill gap between a rank 4, and a rank 1.

I’ve seen it a lot. Contrary to what you believe, when you’re rank 1 having NOED in their kit doesn’t assure a loss, it guarantees a win. Somebody with those skills doesn’t need 4 active perks to slaughter most groups. They can get by with 3.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2017185#Comment_2017185

I don’t need to prove anything. Everybody knows that for killers who go against rank 1 survivors, NOED is not in their builds unless they want to lose. It’s a game patch the devs leave in because mid-tier killers are not as good as mid-tier survivors. NOED is the answer to bad killer’s skill level.

I’m in red ranks. I go up against rank 1 killers all of the time. I still run into NOED on a regular basis, so without you backing up your words with substance rather than opinion, I can only surmise that your assertion is nothing more than pure BS.

  • I play Ghostface, but I’m not toxic. Most rounds I’ll give the last person the hatch provided they weren’t a complete nuisance. Funny thing is, I like being revealed! I find knowing where people are to be more useful than being able to expose them, although that’s fun, too.

But I know what you mean. For some strange reason I alwasys get stuck with the same killers at least twice in a row. Its weird.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2017046#Comment_2017046

When you use NOED consistently against rank 1 survivors to get regular 4k’s, then come back and prove me wrong.

Lol. It isn’t up to me to prove you wrong. Its up to you to prove yourself right.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2016925#Comment_2016925

    “Citation needed”

You run NOED as part of your build and maintain a consistent rank 1 and then come back and talk to me. It only works on mid-tier.

Generally speaking when somebody levels an accusation it is up to them to provide the burden of proof to support said accusation. You are about as credible as a wingnut spreading some convoluted conspiracy theory and then when confronted with disbelievers tell them to “Do YoUr ReAsEaRcH”.

logical fallacy argument again. It’s the only hex which requires 100 seconds of cleansing time plus searching time which is easily 2-3 minutes.

It isn’t logical fallacy, it’s sarcasm designed to point out how stupid the original argument was.

  • @NoxVeno said:

Grind challenges encourage bad play. killers farming pallets and gens, survivors going for unsafe unhooks ect...The healing grinds take the cake. survivors running across the map to try to force heal you. its feels like boarder line molestation

It’s true. In the challenge I reference above, hook saves and protection hits are part and parcel to the game, but making it a challenge to complete leads the activity into unsafe territory. If everybody is working for protection hits then it is at the expense of fixing generators and escaping.

  • I’m at 38, so a week ahead of schedule. I try to complete 1 tier a day, but that gets hard to do once all of the challenges are completed.

  • Phantasm Chapter with The Tall Man as the killer with a Morningside Map. Reggie would be probably be the favorite for survivor but I’d love to have Mike and Jody as well.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

NOED is for garbage killers. There is no legitimate defense of the perk.

Survivors that fall for NOED are garbage survivors. You know it exists and is a possibility. So why didn’t you try to deactivate it by cleansing totems? Because you’re lazy, and impatient and garbage, that’s why.

  • Red rank Huntress with iri hatchet = die on first hook.

The object is to make the round as boring as possible for them.

  • Almost never unless its to do a rift challenge. Like today to pass the one where you have to do three skill checks healing with Claudette I brought a med kit with 24 charges and a suture add-on. Easy peasy.

  • @Brokenbones said:

Yeah honestly if you want to just brute force the challenge, drop a pallet, reset it then brute-force a stun by camping it

The killer can't hit you and avoid getting stunned at the same time unless they are a ranger killer

(Make sure you're healthy when you do this though)

Oh, it’s been known to happen. I’ve had killers hit me at a pallet and then go right through me to avoid the stun altogether. Magic!

  • I already know that I’m going to have to stand there and take the hit before dropping the pallet but I hate using that tactic because half of the time it doesn’t work. They’ll either hit me and go through me somehow missing the stun, or instead of dropping the pallet I start healing myself, or maybe the prompt doesn’t even come up at all. Or the killer is carrying one down add-on I’m unaware of, or I get stuck playing against Huntress 9 games in a row. Something usually goes wrong, lol.

  • @bm33 said:

I did it, was killed a bunch while trying, but I got it done. Killers can break the pallet as you're trying to lift it so that added an additional annoyance to the challenge.

Edit* Nevermind thought it was the first any means necessary where you had to reset near killer. I'm not even going to bother with this one.

Lol. Yeah that first challenge was ridiculous enough. This one is a veritable Hail Mary, especially going against red rank killers. I’ve already bypassed it and got to the end of part 3, so I’ll circle around and do all of the others first. Then, when they’re all done I’ll choose this one and play as normally as I can with this useless perk and hope Lady Luck visits me sooner rather than later.

  • Sigh. Here we go again with the whining about keys. Couldn’t you have at least revived one of the bazillion older threads?

  • @BobaTedd said:

Have a time limit of how long you can stay in the closet. After say one minute, you're kicked out into the open. Simple fix.

That’s what crows are for. If the killer is going to ignore the closet with circling crows above it cawing like crazy then there is no helping him.

    So good thing it's not?

Did you misread "Hide in a locker within 5 seconds of being in a chase with a killer" as "...within 5 seconds of beginning a chase" or something?

If you read the entire conversation going on you would have your answer.

  • @Hex_Salt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/233557/its-not-a-win

I couldn't agree more. The only thing more pathetic is a survivor bringing a key with them and escapimg and proclaiming victory. Shows how much faith they have in their own ability of the can't handle doing 5 gens

Actually, if they bring a key into the game knowing that it’ll likely cause them to be tunneled, and they still manage to live long enough to use it, then sorry but that’s a victory in my book.

  • @HellDescent said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2007229#Comment_2007229

How hard is that? Half the tiles with pallets on the map have lockers next to them

Again: if the perameters is to do all of that within the very first 5 seconds of a chase.... VERY DIFFICULT.

  • The main reason I hate this map is the fixed locations of the gates being too easy for killers to patrol and defend, and that sometimes it takes way too long to even find the gens. Also gets annoying to not know what floor totems are on when using small game.

  • @jester20k said:

If you go around a corner and hop in quick, they will keep going for a second before they see the scratch marks stop, then come back and figure out you went in a locker. Then you stun them. Always takes them longer than 3 seconds to figure it out.

I’m pretty sure that you have to be moving for a few seconds before it is even considered a chase. You can’t just hop into a nearby closet (or jump off a high point in similar challenges) and expect it to count. Yes, the scenario you depict is possible, it’s just needlessly reckless and unlikely to work with experienced killers. I wouldn’t rely upon Head On to do the trick when the killer is that close.

  • @jester20k said:

It's easy, either while being chased, or within 5 seconds of the chase ending (you'll get the Escaped BP notification), hop in a locker. Just bring quick and quiet and head on for one match.

I was going to mention that if the challenge makes you hop into a closet within the first 5 seconds of a chase then that isn’t a challenge, that’s just giving the killer a free hook. That wouldn’t even give you the time to activate Head On in that scenario.

  • @HellDescent said:

Just get into a locker after chase starts. You have a 5 second window to do so after chase starts

Actually it may be getting into a locker within 5 seconds of the chase ending. So basically any time during the chase you can do it. This one wound up being easier than I thought it’d be. Its a good one to use quick and quiet in.

  • I’ve found hackers on crossplay, but why are you blaming console? How does one hack a PS4? I’m sure it could be done, but if it exists the percentage of hackers is only a sliver of a fraction of what’s on PC. I’d sooner blame your console’s wifi connection cutting out all on its own.

  • @swarmofdogs said:

What I seen more frequently is solo survivors that don't participate in normal play. They concentrate on hiding, waiting for the team to die, then scape through the hatch.

I usually report them in the post game screen. But I think that report system is a placebo and is mostly there to alleviate post-game salt.

Really? If that’s what you’re doing then stop it. There is nothing illegal about doing nothing and then wait for the hatch. It may be a newbie strategy but it’s still one that I use from time to time when paired up with idiots that don’t know how to avoid BBQ or go for unsafe hooks (for starters). It may not be a strategy you approve of, but it isn’t against the rules. Stop abusing the report function.

  • A great example of why killers should always run Whispers. Barring that, From the Shadows or Iron Maiden. Stridor? If you’re not running at least one perk devoted to sense and have everything focused on gen slowdown this can inevitably lead to this possibility happening. If survivors don’t feel like it’s possible to do gens at all, then they won’t. That’s particularly a danger when using Tinkerer. But they never set it off once so this isn’t the case.

Another remote possibility is that they may all be working on the challenge of hiding close to the killer. All 4 though? Probably not.

  • I just really hate his name. What’s in a name, you ask? Enough to avoid buying the character and further diluting bloodwebs with unwanted perks for one thing. I know it’s silly, but that is how much it bothers me. I call him Dickster.

  • I didn’t have such hard luck with this one, maybe four games tops because in two of them players kept disconnecting. It has the potential of being a hard challenge to complete, but that’s kind of the definition of challenge, isn’t it? A lot of them are harder to achieve than you would think. A sacrifice during the EGC can be quite a pain if you’re good enough that games never make it that far. You basically have to throw the match just for that one sacrifice, and even then if you have the misfortune of running up against a competent swf you may not even get that. There are perks you can run that will increase your odds of success substantially.

  • It’s all about mind set, isn’t it? There are way better killers than I am, and plenty of better survivors that would easily roll me, so why get myself worked up about it? So I set other goals for myself besides killing everybody and keeping them from escaping, and I can do those then I consider the game a success. That’s why I enjoy the rift so much. Fixing gens and hooking people gets boring after a while.

It's entirely possible they were doing the Archive Challenge.

I thought of that but I doubt it. The challenge is to only to do it once or twice. They were clearly doing it to troll.

  • The downside outweighs the positives. You absolutely need to pair it with Iron Will to get any use of it at all. Don’t leave trails of blood? Who cares if the killer can hear your grunts of pain and knock you down with one hit? Can get out of the dying state at any time? Big deal. If the killer sees you wounded for no reason of his doing then he is going to know you’re running No Mither and hook you asap. If this perk has a reason other than making life harder on yourself then I’m not seeing it.

That is fair. I hear from a lot of people that the game lies in the survivor's favor right now anyways.

Also logically, having an indicator makes sense for generators because when they’re fixed they’re loud. Survivors across the map can hear them so they would already know how many more are needed for repair. What’s the logic for all players knowing when a dull totem is cleansed? They’re quiet and give no notification whatsoever. Therefore it makes zero sense to have an indicator. Just my few cents.

  • I hate Clown, Legion, Freddy and Leatherface most all. I’m not fond of going up against a good Deathslinger either because they never seem to miss. Same with Huntress to a lesser extent. Next rung down is probably Trapper. The rest I don’t run into as frequently so they’re more of a novelty to me.
