I think he is a little OP when he is using all seeing blood, but he is also underpowered without it. There’s no real happy medium when it comes to him, but regardless as a killer he’s very mid tier. There are a lot of killers that are more annoying to go against.

Do you think people should be able to max out the new characters the instant they're released?
Or should they have to play them for a while first?
Obviously he prefers the first one. I prefer the second. It’s nice to know we have at least a day or two before new killers are likely to have have access to meta perks. It’s a little tiring to go against BBQ and PGTW all of the time.

The amount of bp spent to levels progressed ratio is bad. 300k bloodpoints probably gets you to lvl 15 on 1 character. 600k bloodpoints gets you to about lvl 23 on 1 character. And also, the bp cap of 1,000,000 is pathetically low because 1,000,000 bp gets you basically nothing. It's not even enough to get a character fully leveled. Change it to 999,999,999 please. Also, way more bp from matches, which can be done easily via increasing the numbers on the bp offerings. Change 50% to 75%, change 75% to 100%, etc. It feels like bloody party streamers and yearly celebration cakes are the only bp offerings that even do anything.
It maxes out at a million to entice you to spend them. Why save them? You going to convert them to bitcoin?

I only play for the Rift these days. When there isn't one active, I'm gone. I like the feeling of doing the challenges.(admittedly some of them are kinda bad) Since I have all the teachables by now, it's very hard to match the original feeling of leveling and feeling accomplished.
I feel the same way. The time between rifts gets very repetitive and frankly dull. There really isn’t that much depth to this game. The rifts bring a level of chaos to the games the forces players to play counter intuitively, even self destructively, many times if the want to complete the challenges. That makes it interesting for me.
-
I got it the first time, but I did it probably 20 times during the match to be safe so I have no idea which counted towards the challenge, lol.

I'm the same. Only had one Trickster match yesterday and the killer was having trouble tracking me in a chase. i dont feel I've had enough experience with or against him to make a fair assessment yet.
I played him a few more games but most killers seem to still be opting for meta perks than using his own. Most players still haven’t figured out how to verse him, which is annoying because the strat against him is obvious: pretty much the same as Legion, split up and fix different gens. He has zero map control. Every round I lost today is because people kept getting zealous with hook saves. Camping/proxy camping is about the only thing he is innately good at.
So, please people: STOP rushing for hook saves. Stay away from him if he is in a chase and LET HIM HOOK. Force him to patrol gens before going for unhooks. Don’t be an idiot!
-
I only played two games against him. The first one didn’t even try to use his knives. The second guy used them with pinpoint accuracy downing me in seconds, making me wonder how the hell I’m going to compete against somebody that doesn’t even allow me to get to cover because theres zero cooldown. The jury is still out.

If you died half as much as you claim you would not be in red ranks. Enough with this. The problem may lie with you being laurie she might be bad luck I know they always seem to die in my trials.
Not necessarily. I probably die upwards of 75% of most rounds and I’m rank 2/rank 3 lately. The important thing is what you do in the round and you can still easily pip up but still die all of the time. If you escape with low bp is that still a win? If you kill everybody but all of the survivors got more bp than you is THAT a win? It’s all in the eye, isn’t it?
-
If you find that you only have two gens left and barely anybody has been hooked, newflash: stop what you are doing and cleanse all of the totems before preceding any further. Every time a round goes that easily it’s because the killer is playing an end game strategy involving NOED (with maybe Blood Warden).

How is Trapper and Jason comparable? I've never seen a Friday the 13th. When did Jason use Bear Traps? I've never heard that ever except when it comes to the dbd community.
He uses them in the video game. I think he used one once in the reboot. That’s the exact number of times that he’s killed somebody with a corkscrew. Or a harpoon gun.
-
There’s a lot of misconceptions about Jason, one of which is that his main weapon is a machete. Jason doesn’t have a main weapon. He uses whatever is available to him. He also never used bear traps except once in the reboot and in the video game. Trapper is maybe superficially like Jason, at best.
-
People need fewer perks, not more. Thr more powerful ones should take up two, maybe three slots.
-
I almost have enough shards to buy Clown, Slinger, Prickster and survivor so maybe I’ll wait until then to get all of them at once just for completist sake. Because really I don’t care about any of them, but what else am I going to do with shards?

Interrupt a 70%+ generator after you first hook and make sure it regresses to zero.
If you can get Ruin to destroy an almost finished generator one time before it's cleansed, the Survivors essentially lost all their early game advantage and have to do the equivalent of six generators.
That’s all fine and dandy, except that you basically need to camp that one gen. In the meantime there are three other players unaccounted for. If they’re using as much time as possible working on other gens before saving the guy on first hook right before second phase then you’ve screwed yourself.
Personally speaking, if Ruin is in affect and I’m on a gen there’s no way I’m getting off to rush to somebody on first hook. I’ll complete it then go.

Bullying isn't just taunting. 2 survivors getting hatch after 3 gens are complete and making fun of them in the endgame chat is also bullying, which is a very common thing I see.
That has nothing to do with keys. Those kinds of people are going to mock you in chat regardless of what they were carrying. It’s impossible to bully with a key. Flashlight? Maybe, but anything else the idea is absurd.
-
@DawnMad said:
I usually tryhard when I see keys, usually with Devour+Undying+Ruin or something similar. I don't dodge keys because I'm better than most other killers those people face (not trying to brag, most killers aren't very good at the game) and I would prefer them wasting the key on me than use it to bully someone else.
Lol. How does one “bully” with a key? That makes zero sense. How many people actively taunt you with keys?
-
My main problem with the rift is that the only thing that endangers me getting to tier 70 is all of the time wasted waiting to join lobbies.
-
If there’s a perk you really, really want then just pay for the character you want, either with shards or cells. You’ll feel better. Wait for sales if you have the patience. I paid $4 for Leatherface ages ago. Even if you’re lucky and it appears in the Shrine you might still have an aggravating wait ahead of you getting it to appear on the bloodweb of the character you want it for.
-
I actually gave up on a legion last night based upon how boring he made the game. It just went on forever. It was literally over 20 minutes and he still hadn’t killed a single person. It wasn’t a 3 gen situation but even without ruin gens would regress to almost nothing every time we got driven away. Couldn’t fix gens, couldn’t hide. Just boring and rather irritating. I didn’t stick around but I’m pretty sure he was running oppression, discordance, tinker, and pop goes the weasel.
-
Luck sucks and is extremely underdeveloped as an idea in this game and should be reworked. You’re better off equiping deliverance rather than bothering with any other luck based perk or add on.

If you have something you feel needs to be said then simply make a new thread. Why take this personally?
Who’s taking it personally? I just think that it’s better to add to an already started conversation than to glut the board with an identical thread, that’s all. Otherwise, why even have an option to perform a search? And as I said, if they’re there just for informational purposes then lock everything beyond... I don’t know. What’s the unwritten rule on how old is too old? A month? 6 months?
-
@Mandy said:
It's considered to be necro'ing a thread. And as DbD is a live game where a lot of changes get made, commenting on a thread from a few years ago when often the basis of the thread has changed makes the posts irrelevant.
If that’s the case then they should just make it so anything older than a specified time gets deleted or locked. Otherwise there’s no point in keeping them up.
But yeah, new threads on NOED and keys every half hour is waaaaayy better.
-
Blah. First chapter since I began playing (around the time of Oni) that I’m not getting on day 1. Beyond the fact that he’s a lame Joker wannabe I just don’t want more perks muddying up the bloodweb.
-
If you always spawn at the farthest possible point then the killer is going to know that. You’d be found more often, not less.

Since you were the first to mention racism...means you thinking about races. So, does that make you the racist? As I hadnt even thought about her skin color, Just perks, and clothing.
Interesting.
That’s interesting only if you find logical fallacies interesting. Thats the same school of thought as “He who smelt it, dealt it”.

I never said it doesn't exist, but there are situations when race has nothing to do with anything, but it get's thrown in anyway. I'm tired of people assuming something negative happening to me must be because of my skin color, even when I messed something up, it will inevitably come up as the reason. Sick of it.
Boo hoo. Need a tissue?
The OP was asking why Elodie is getting targeted. I said that there was no good reason for her to be, which logically means that what is left are bad reasons. Your sensitivity towards the subject has no bearing.

@Zarr0ch said:

Not everything is bloody racism. If that was the case, the Jake, Yui, Feng, Adam and Claudette would face the same fate as Elodie.
Not everything is racism but that doesn’t mean racism doesn’t happen. Could be that certain characters are targeted first over others because of race, either consciously or unconsciously. Yes, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but people like this actually exist and play video games.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2038579#Comment_2038579
And you could never prove it.
I hate Elodie because of her stupid scream that caused me physical pain.
I hate Claudettes because my first ever match was against a wannabe Ochido squad who were extremely toxic.
And you could never prove that people are specifically targeting Elodie thereby negating the point of this thread. But I have heard stories of people messaging other players not to use black characters and using racist slurs. Those cases, while rare, have definitely been proven.

Blendette would be the main target if racism were an issue lol
I’ve heard of it against her. No reason why any of the other black characters would be given any less quarter from racists.
-
It’s her deadly ability to find keys and escape. But anybody can unlock appraisal to use on other charges so I don’t know why she’d be specifically targeted. Racism?

He didn’t have a key. Just went to hatch and hid and hoping I go first basically
Or maybe he figured that he was going to be tunneled off the hook and wanted to give you a chance to finish the gen. It could’ve gone down like that.
-
@Dragonshensi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2038453#Comment_2038453
It was the last hatch and I was like two seconds from finishing. I had saved him from hook and he could have just followed me and finished the gen. Instead he went right to hatch and as a thank you for me saving him he left me
And you checked to see if he had a key?
I’m honestly surprised that he chanced going straight to the hatch after being unhooked. Potentially leading the killer straight to it is that last thing I’d consider.
-
I have more than enough points to get Clown, Deathslinger, (and upcoming Dickster) for free but I haven’t because they don’t really appeal to me. I get them eventually because I’m a completist but I’m not willing to press the button just yet.
-
@Dragonshensi said:
Down to two survivors. Almost got the last gen done. I’m wondering why didn’t the other survivor come with me to finish this last gen as we are almost done. I get downed and see him a ways away, just circling in place. He was waiting for me to die the whole time and not doing anything at all. I died and of course he got hatch. If you a survivor that finds the hatch and just stick to that area for the whole match you are a coward and a detriment to your team. Anyone else have any hatch hoverer stories?
If there are only two survivors left then there is no longer a “team”. It’s down to either him or you. In these situations I’ll try to get the last gen fixed if at all possible, but if there’s more than one then repairing a gen means giving away your position with still no way to escape. In those situations I can understand the strategy behind staying away so I bear no ill will when that happens. Sometimes there are scenarios you aren’t privy to. Maybe he was doing the challenge where he needed to escape through the hatch 3 times.

Even more fun when you use lightborn with the wraith🤣 reminds me of that Simpsons meme it's not working shake harder boy
What’s even funnier is that when more than one person is in the lobby decides on carrying a torch how could they NOT think that I’d equip lightborn? I’m sure plenty of killers wouldn’t, but even one is practically begging for either it Franklin’s. Lol.
-
99ing more of an issue with a Myers. You can’t negate Michael’s power just by looking at him as you can with a Ghostface. Why not ######### about him instead?
-
The only d/c I’ve had recently while playing killer was a Laurie Strode that tried to flashlight blind me while I was using Lightborn and was promptly hooked. Probably the only way this troll knew how to play. Probably also doubly mad that another player did an unsafe hook and he wasn’t running ds. Either way it made me laugh.
Rank 4 survivor.

A second chance perk for a killer would be being able to damage a repaired gen or something.
I always thought to myself why the killer didn't simply smack a repaired gen to keep the survivors from leaving. I'm like what a moron.
Or pull the cables out. Or are they connected to the gates via wifi? Lol

What happened was three survivors were working on a gen across the map, where there were gen after gen close together. One popped before I got over there. Saw one person run away. Starts stalking. Another gen popped then another. The 3 of them just went from gen to gen and got it done super quick. I know that’s not technically a gen rush but with how quick it happened it sure felt like it.
Isn’t that usually a mistake for survivors to do? Lumping all of the repaired gens that close together just makes the rest of the map easier to patrol. It’s a tactical error that can be exploited by a good killer.
-
I like Proof Thyself, but it’s kind of funny how whenever I use it I always seem to spawn on the other side of the map from everybody else and have a hard time tracking anybody else down in order to get some use out of it. But when I don’t use it I spawn with at least two other people. Well, that’s how it feels anyways, lol.
-
I think some of these challenges are created solely to justify the existence of some of the lamer perks, Any Means Necessary being one of them. Honestly it has almost zero practical applications other than to correct an accidentally dropped pallet. If you dropped it intentionally then chances are the killer destroyed it right after. But hey, you gotta use it now otherwise you can’t complete the level so deal with it...
-
@Mistercookie said:
As some people said on here already, prove thyself is probably ran a lot because there's a recent rift challenge asking you to complete 12 generators. At first I thought it was as a team but when we got 5 gens done and I could only work on one, I was disappointed lol.
Off topic but the challenge isn’t to fix 12 generators, it’s fix the equivalent of 12 generators. Theoretically if you had enough time you milk one generator for 12 gens worth of repairs with an active Ruin hex in play.
But back on topic, it would explain why I keep not arriving in time to stop repairs even with Tinkerer notifications.

Thank you for actually posting a suggestion on a tactic to counter this camping method I described. Everyone else is just a bunch of killer mains bashing on any idea that lowers a killers advantage. When asked for a solution their only solution is GET GOOD. Toxic!
You’re welcome.
As an asterisk to my above suggestion, it seems like more than half of the killers I play against run Whispers. In those cases, lights or no lights, they’re going to know which exit you’re at. Unless you find a key you’re screwed.
-
Assume that the killer will reach the gate just before you finish opening it. So, open it just enough for the light to appear, then stealthily go to the other exit.
Never tried it but maybe you’ll get lucky. At that point I don’t really care enough to try. I just want the game to end.
-
I had to take one hit while the killer was carrying to the hook and get downed while blocking it. But it’s all for naught if the survivor delays trying to struggle for even a second.
